CLEO though. Shes intresting. Shes surrounded by spiderwebs for one, (in arachnes place i believe?) but we see her turning to stone. And shes a gorgon so maybe turning herself into stone in some way? Shes also called the 'eternal prisoner' so shes kinda suck lmao. But not ALONE as the other hermits are able to reach and talk to her. (She mentions that the server talks)

Joel, is mentioned to be a fallen/former god in some way, but its unknown exactly how /that/ all happened. Hes now a 'vengeful' nymph. Which i think is what we saw happening with Ren there in the end. I was also wrong about the hermits you have medallions having significance. TLDR: So idea on what the story is. So i think the watchers released? are working with? The dragon to cause havoc on the hermits in some way. Hurting and attacking the people. For some reason the pc is called upon to stop the dragon. Alas the watchers are actively interfering to stop the pc from killing the dragon. (And maybe thus freeing the hermits?) I dont know why though. Hermits have some fucked shit going on. Cleo and Iskall have the same effect. Ren and Etho are in the same situation. Hypno wants to kill

Culture plays into his clash w laios but i think the fact he’s grown up being so closely observed and in turn closely observes others plays into it too. But its fun how hes always toeing the line between being a spoiled brat, being too passive bc of his own lack of agency, n also that hes genuinely intelligent and has thought a really long time about power.

I think it also gets at why marcilles plan to equalize the races by making their lifespans the same was doomed to fail and also highlights how she can only view other ppls oppression thru her own suffering—that theres always going to be differentials in power that are difficult, but you have to interact meaningfully w them rather than running from them. A simple world w easy solutions like that would be bloodless and false, no?

HEY YOU Hit me with some Julie Su propoganda cuz I'm mostly lukewarm on her character and don't know all that much about her.

OK OK ... well baseline info she's the daughter of dark legion general luger, and half sister of lien-da and kragok, who are twins and both high ranking legion soldiers. when their mother (merin-da) died and luger remarried, ld and kragok hated his new wife (julie-su's mother) (mari-su) so bad they orchestrated her death, info which was they kept on the DL for a long time until js eventually found out about it. memory situation, js is raised by other folks who actually love her and doesn't learn who her blood family is until later. she joins knuckles because she feels inexplicably drawn to him (soul touch) (echidna soulmates) so she defects from the legion to join the chaotix. the soul touch thing sucks and i hate it but this is how it goes. ill talk about my au version of her at the end lol bc things ive built on top of canon are part of the reason why shes one of my fave charas in the series lul

ANYWHO i honestly find it pretty frustrating when people talk about js as just being pink knuckles, shoehorned into the story to give knuckles an obligatory girlfriend, because it really demonstrates that they like. weren't paying a lick of attention to anything because she genuinely has a LOT of personality but since people just go in anticipating anything penders touched to suck they don't even bother to think about her for longer than half a second.

js fills a niche that, imo, could always use filling, especially with regards to girl characters, which is to say shes a well meaning asshole. shes incredibly blunt, she's pessimistic (immediately assumes knuckles must be dead when enerjak returns and they cant find him, tells knuckles not to search a fallen ship that his mother was on because shes probably dead and she doesnt think he'd want to see that). shes terrible at handling interpersonal conflict (knuckles confesses to her that he feels guilty and stressed over all the pressure put on him as guardian and she scolds him and says "this isn't just about you", which results in a minor shouting match when she really had zero intention of starting an argument), she's almost constantly beefing with vector (tbf its because hes sexist he refuses to see past her history as a member of the dark legion). these might suond like cons but i love characters like this LOL and they fit especially well in archie where people love to get mad at each other and make dumb mistakes and it just feels very genuine and interesting and endearing to me. shes rough and difficult but she's also DEEPLY loyal. she'd die for knuckles and the chaotix and the way she interacts with them always makes me soooo ........ im just gonna give some examples i can find.

^ this was the genuine conclusion of an argument they had and im obsessed with it because both of them suck with emotions so they both give the worlds strangest apology and know that the other means it and they move on. plus putting her arm in front of SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG while theyre confronting eggman even after watching him CHAOS BLAST, primarily because she feels like this is more her fight than his (its about knuckles).

theres def more and i could find them if i was more on top of archie but unfortunately im #narutopilled rn. BUT ANYWAYS. shes just a very fun character with a messy personality and fun interactions and she loves her buddies sm even tho she bickers with them. shes just very special. she fits well with knuckles in a way that makes their relationship actually feel plausible instead of just forcing him to have a girlfriend (tho ofc the writing is fumbled sometimes like. ITS ARCHIE. bffr. but thats the case with literally everything ever in archie so you take what you can and its amazing). also see below. BASED AS FUCKKKKKKK

and ill discuss my au briefly bc u r asking me my opinion on js and that does play a large role in how i feel abt her, but rly im just expanding on elements of her story that werent discussed as fully as i wouldve liked. her relationship with lien-da is obviously BAD in canon, but theres not a lot of time spent lingering on precisely how lien-da and kragok feel about julie-su as the product of their fathers second marriage to a woman they KILLED because they hated her so much. ive also given her much more internal strife over turning away from the legion, originally joining the chaotix planning to betray them from the inside then being slowly convinced to join them for real after realizing how much she'd been brainwashed by the legion and what its like to have people who truly love and care about you. her story as someone who is trying to find herself outside of her history as a child soldier is something that TOTALLY deserves to be expanded on and its a bit sad that it wasnt explored. but i mean really im not changing her actual PERSONALITY at all because as i discussed shes oozing with it.... im honestly never going to make the full comic i wanted to so at some point im just going to compile all the lore and concept art and stuff into one big post to share. but thats like a spoiler free taste.

she also has a gun. which is fucking awesome because not enough sonic characters have guns. people make shadow the guy with a gun but he hasnt been seen with one since shth. hello....

Ok so this is a hypothetical baseball AU, Bobby focused of course because that’s what I do. My qualifications for reasoning and source of my information: I played softball for a very very long time and have watched baseball for even longer even if it isn’t my favorite sport.

What positions would each boy play? A lot of them are up in the air, but these are the vibes they’re giving:

Bobby - Catcher

Kind of the man in charge on the field, they see everything that’s going on

He’s facing the opposite way of everyone else on the field like he does in the boat

Calls time outs on the field to huddle in the pitchers mound when things aren’t going good, gives pep talks and all that

Don - Pitcher/Second(?)

Pitcher because he’s stroke

Second basemen are either the quiet kid or the obnoxious kid who thinks they’re the shit like come on man you’re at 2nd, you’re arguably one of the worst players in the infield (I can say that because that was me until I switched to outfield the loml)

Joe - Third Base

Third base is a wild place to be, you gotta react on your instincts a lot and you gotta react fast. Theres all kinds of situations a third baseman can be in

One of the hardest working players on the field. They can really make or break your infield

The ball is literally drilled at you sometimes so you have to be tough and Joe is definitely tough

Shorty - Shortstop

Usually one of the best players on the team

Can be pretty hot headed

Shortstops are very confident in themselves and can have a bit of an ego

Stub - First Base

Big guys who don’t move very fast play first. I’m not saying Stub isn’t fast, but he’s def a big guy.

First basemen are usually big power hitters tho like lots of poser behind their bats. He probably hits 4th or 5th in the line up, hits cleanup

Johnny - Center Field (or maybe short??)

I feel like he’s fast but he’s not giving that infield ego vibes to me, you know?

Totally the coach’s kid growing up, like he probably pitched and played shortstop. It’s not uncommon for players who played a position in high school to play outfield in college (I know several)

Gordy - Right Field

Idk it just kinda fits imo

Chuck - 2nd Base (?)/OF

Again he just kinda fits

He’s got that infield ego

Maybe a relief pitcher?

Roger - Left Field/Second(?)

Mostly think he’d play OF, but he’s giving lowkey second or third base vibes. So like maybe whenever a new pitcher goes in Roger takes their place on the infield and Coy goes to the outfield.

There is absolutely zero plot nailed down for this but I have details that I would include if I were to ever write it:

Backstory: Bobby is the one deciding what pitches the pitchers should throw aka calling pitches during games until he messes up and loses them a big game. Ulbrickson decides that’s the last straw and kicks him off the team. In actuality the pitcher didn’t throw the pitch Bobby called or missed his spot and blamed Bobby for it.

The story would be set sometime after Bobby is brought back as the catcher for reason XYZ, why isn’t important rn for this. But Ulbrickson has a stipulation that he’ll be calling pitches, not Bobby. Bobby agrees, but obviously goes off script sometimes.

I want Bobby signaling for a particular pitch as called by Ulbrickson, but uses another sign he made up that tells the pitchers “hey I didn’t come up with this.” And Don shakes off the pitch by shaking his head and Bobby smiles and signals the one that he thinks he should pitch.

I want Bobby in a backwards baseball cap (ofc)

I want Bobby getting into a collision at home plate, definitely a must because I love that hurt/comfort

when it comes to curly, i feel like he would def take what ppl r saying to heart, it doesnt matter if its a passing comment, a joke, or whatever, he WILL deal w u. its less to do w the fact that ur trying to demean him, more of the fact that ur calling him gay. part of y he feels so negatively towards that is bc in this society theres no way to b masculine and gay and curlys dealing w toxic masculinity and the fact that he wants to prove himself as being like tim, intimidating and scary, so he cant have those “rumors” floating around. but then theres also the fact that even he cant rlly come to terms that hes gay, so by beating someone who calls him gay up, its like hes channeling his denial and by beating ppl who say that up, it helps him rationalize that maybe theres a “chance” for him or it just literally, “helps” him deal w the denial. at some point hes gonna get tired of beating ppl up for that and just realize that hes gay and then thats a whole different can of worms

BUTTTT if we r going w my regular ole curly, id say he still kinda feels this??? at least most of this, just to a way lesser extent, id tweak some things like instead of him being mad that hes being called gay, instead of it being internalized homophobia, he just wants to do what he wants w no questions and b left unlabled or whatever, but yea most of what i said still applies. he still beats ppl up tho for talking smack about him however, thats just a universal thing here w him.

w pony, i think hes had his fair share of ppl calling him gay, hell, the FANDOM calls him gay, hes def been called a fruitcake or a fairy in that neighborhood multiple times and while at first i think he would feel a certain way, he wouldnt DO anything about it, cause what CAN he do in his power about that??? to him its useless, trying to do something about it, only way he would fight back is if they got aggressive physically, but generally he just keeps his head down. at most maybe he told someone and there was a lil scuffle over it but thats just about it, yknow??? AND THAT COULD ANNOY CURLY!!! curly already hates that pony doesnt fight back “when he should” but w curly as discussed w how he is w internalized homophobia, when pony doesnt fight back, its like ponys just confirming it to the ppl and curly HATTTEESSS that. and thats a point of tension for em
