When Lenore walks into her father's office, the overwhelming scent of his cologne fills her nostrils. His desk is neat - only his PC on the left, some files on the right, and an intimidating piece of paper in the centre. As she walks further into the large room, her father stands up from his desk.

“We’re just formulating a contract,” he says, gesturing to the paper. His face shows no emotion.

“Without me?” Lenore asks, walking closer to the desk. She avoids looking at her ‘fiancé,’ refusing to acknowledge his presence.

Her father places his cold hand on her shoulder. “You don’t have a say in the matter, Lenore.”

A voice from across the room speaks up, a slight Australian accent slipping through. “She has every say in the matter she wants.”

Milliseconds pass before Lenore responds, “Thank you,” she almost yells in an exaggerated tone, rolling her eyes at her father. Despite the sarcasm, Lenore feels a twinge of guilt. She knows that, as a child, such disrespect would have earned her punishment.

“Sorry,” she mumbles under her breath.

The stranger stands up, facing her. Lenore hesitates, afraid to look at him, fearing that doing so will make everything too real.

“I don’t believe we’ve met,” he says. Lenore’s agrees with herself that this man is the definition of perfect - his dark hair falling perfectly, not too long or short, and dark brown eyes that glisten in the warm lighting of her father's office. “I’m Christopher Bahng. You can call me Chris,” he adds.

Lenore doesn’t respond, only nodding slightly, unsure what to say.

A few moments pass before her father speaks again. “Lenore, aren’t you going to introduce yourself?” His tone is cold, and he sits back down, crossing his arms and legs.

“Oh, uh, sorry. I’m Lenore. It’s nice to meet you.” Her demeanour shifts slightly.

“You too,” Chris replies. “Do you want to read the contract?”

Lenore steps forward, closer to the desk. “Yes, please,” she says, picking up the paper in front of her. It reads:

Arranged Marriage Contract

This Arranged Marriage Contract (hereinafter referred to as the "Contract") is entered into on this day, 11/10/2024, between:

Party A: Lenore Aavel (hereinafter referred to as the "First Party")

Party B: Christopher Bahng (hereinafter referred to as the "Second Party")

WHEREAS, the families of both parties have mutually agreed to arrange a marriage between the First Party and the Second Party before the death of Jack Bahng;

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements herein contained, the parties agree as follows:

1. Purpose of Marriage1.1 The parties agree to enter into marriage with the intention of establishing an alliance between the two families and maintaining the reputation of both, while leading an organised crime collective.

2. Date and Venue of Marriage2.1 The marriage ceremony shall take place on 18/10/2024 at The Aavel Household.

3. Financial Arrangements3.1 Both parties agree to disclose their financial status prior to the marriage. 3.2 The parties agree to maintain a joint bank account after the marriage.

4. Living Arrangements4.1 The parties agree to reside at the Bahng household after the marriage.

5. Heir and Succession5.1 The parties agree to produce an heir to the bloodline. 5.2 The firstborn child of this union shall be deemed heir to both family empires, uniting the bloodlines.

6. Territory/Business/Omertà6.1 Business matters must be discussed between both parties throughout the marriage. 6.2 Both parties shall adhere strictly to the code of silence, never disclosing family business to outsiders or law enforcement. 6.3 Both parties pledge unwavering loyalty to each other’s family, superseding all other allegiances, except to their own blood relatives.

7. Cultural and Religious Practices7.1 The parties agree to respect each other’s cultural and religious beliefs.

8. Dispute Resolution8.1 Any disputes between the families shall be resolved through a council of the highest-ranking capos from both families. 8.2 In the event of betrayal, the offending party forfeits all protection and becomes fair game.

9. Termination9.1 This Contract shall be terminated upon the death of either of the consenting parties.

Lenore skims through the contract, absorbing the most important parts. Thankfully, she agrees with it - not having the energy to argue with her father right now.

“I have to sign here, right?” Lenore asks, pointing to the line above her name. Her father nods, and Chris, seated next to her, hums softly in approval.

She sets the paper back on the table, grabs a pen from the holder, and scribbles her signature. Without another word, she leaves the room, not wanting to be in her father's office any longer.

Lenore only gets so far before she hears loud, fast footsteps behind her. She doesn’t bother to turn, assuming it’s her father or his secretary demanding she returns to the office.

“I don’t want to talk,” she says, continuing down the long, dark corridor. The lights are sparse, and the towering maroon walls are eerily empty, apart from the occasional portrait of her father, herself, or deceased relatives.

“Why?” a surprising voice responds. She expected her father, but it’s no - it’s Chris, the not-so-familiar crime lord.

“Because I’ve just signed my life away,” Lenore says, turning a corner towards her bedroom.

“We should talk,” he insists, catching up and grabbing her wrist. Lenore turns to face him, then gestures toward her bedroom. She says nothing, but he follows her down the shorter corridor to the door at the very end.

Lenore heads straight to the two armchairs by the large windows, her favourite spot. She points to the chairs. “You can sit there. If you're going to talk, talk. I'm busy. Not the one on the right.”

Chris respects her wishes, sitting in the left chair. Meanwhile, Lenore changes into gym clothes, preparing to head out later. She senses his discomfort as she changes in the middle of the room.

“If we’re to be married, get used to it,” Lenore says, tying her hair into a ponytail. “Now, you were going to talk?”

Chris hums before speaking. “I hope you understand—you’ll keep most of your freedom.” Lenore nods but says nothing.

“I also know you’re trained for my industry, but I won’t need that from you. While I hear you’re quite talented, I can’t have you getting injured if you’re meant to give me an heir.”

Lenore interrupts, “Ah, yes, an heir. The only thing you,” she makes bunny ears with her fingers above her head, “Mafia bosses care about.”

Chris remains calm. “It’s not the only thing, but it’s part of your role as my wife.”

“I’m barely eighteen,” she replies, turning to face him. “I don’t plan on being a mother anytime soon. I want to use the skills I’ve worked so hard to perfect over the last seven years.”

“I can’t trust those skills,” Chris counters. “I haven’t trained you myself, and I haven’t seen what you can do.”

His words ignite a fire in Lenore, her blood boiling at his dismissal of the years of torture and training she’s endured to become the best assassin possible in the eyes of her father.

i do have an au i am working on, though i think ill make a separate post for that, right now ill just talk about headcanons!!

disclaimer that u dont have to agree with any of my headcanons, this is just how i see them personally, and there are times when i draw them older, but that's only really for aus or something

also, giving young kids sexualities isnt sexualizing, kids can know when they like boys or girls more, or both! <3

DIB

dib is about 14 when i draw him (probably like 13 and 9 months old, still a baba)

5'0 in height

mexican

he is autistic! his hyper-fixations are aliens, and cryptids in general, i would like to think he also fixates on technology, and building things

the headphones i draw him in are sensory headphones! theyre just noise cancelling but they help him a lot!

he is trans FtM, but since hes young hes just on hormone blockers and practices deep voices and stuff, which is why his voice is still high, but still masc (he/him)

in the show i know he does hack into things, but i like to think he also programs a lot! he makes a lot of stuff for his own use, like for his computer he made a program that helps him keep all his personal info on zim, it has a password and everything so no one tries stealing anything

he has anger issues, not major ones, but he does get mad a lot and easily, he usually calms down by napping or watching supernatural documentaries

he draws a lot more than you think! i know theres silly doodles across his room, but i like to think he has a binder full of all his drawings that arent on his walls or anything, hes a weird kid, so hed probably draw like zims gut anatomy or something

he tries playing the guitar, hes not the worst at it, he just cant play a full song without messing up at least once

he has paranoia, its hard for him to sleep usually, so that's why he's almost always tired, when he cant sleep he stays up trying to find more stuff on zim!

he prefers tea over coffee! while he does love coffee, i like to think he drinks tea more cause of prof membrane, and he doesn't complain about it, his favorite tea is black tea!

i like to think that he knows he's not straight but just doesn't know what he is, he says omni whenever someone asks, but he doesn't really know

he loves, and i mean LOVES gir so much that he gets kinda upset that he cant have his own sir(?) unit, i mean who doesnt

his briefcase is actually a case for his laptop that he just uses as a briefcase at times, sometimes his laptop is in there sometimes its not, depending on what he's set out to do

ZIM

when i draw zim, i personally see him around the age 14-15 (14 and 9 months at least) still a baba

4'11 in height

zim has adhd, though on irk its just seen as him having trouble in a lot of things, or just as a defect, it doesn't bring him down though!

though zim is young, he did go through invader training because of how irkens are made just to be weapons and/or invaders

he used to be a scientist for the irken empire, but quickly got excluded from being one due to messing around and messing up a lot of valuable equipment, the turtle neck was kept from being a scientist as a kind of punishment to "remember what he did" but he just thinks it looks cool

he was never given limb enhancers like the other invaders cause he isn't a real invader, so he thought hed make his own cause he though maybe they just forgot to give him some, it does have a bit more advances than the regular invader one, since they're not allowed to enhance or add onto their enhancers without given permission

zim cant eat many earth foods, but he also cant eat many irk foods, , not cause of allergies, but because of his sensory issues, its hard for him to eat in general (his safe food is waffles!!)

irkens dont have genders, mainly prefered pronouns in which zims are he/it

he made his own hearing aid cause of how much it was pushed off on irk, no one really believed that irkens can be born with defects like that unless their antennas are damaged (only his right antenna is mostly deaf)

he sees gir as his little brother more than he sees him as a sir unit, he doesn't know the term brother, but knows he cares more about gir than anything else even if he finds him annoying

he forgets things, a LOT, in the comic i think its funny how fast he forgets things or pushes things aside, but i like to think he just, actually forgets that fast, even if he tries to remember it

like dib, he doesnt really know his sexuality, mostly cause of how irkens don't have genders, or don't really have the concept of genders in their head, so he just also thinks he's omni, with a masc pref

i like to think he has more of a over bite, but when he's not paying attention he sometimes puts his bottom row of teeth over his lips, just as a little fidget, or just does it while biting the skin off his lips (if irkens have lips?? idk probably not visible ones)

he is still growing, height wise, but when he's older his hight wont be the tallest, probably a few inches or so

GAZ

gaz is 11 and a half (11 and 6 months) she is also, a baba

5'0 in height, suck it zim

mexican

she has adhd as well, fixated on games and pigs

her safe food is pizza!! she loves eating it with her dad and dib, they just like being able to spend time with all of them even if she messes with dib a lot

she likes cryptids to a degree, also isn't as obsessed as dib is, just thinks that only SOMETIMES they're interesting

she tells dibs to make hacks for her in games, and even tells him to make games or addons for games, she usually plays the games dib makes for like a day and then never again

along with the guitar, she can play the drums! she likes playing them while dibs trying to sleep or nap

she is a lesbian and a demigirl! (she/they)

they have a lot of stuff for stress reliving in her room, like a punching bag and a LOT of pillows to punch, she sometimes puts a picture of dibs face on the punching bag, but its not as good as the real thing

she doesnt hate dib, she wont mind if he holds her hand while they walked home or hugged her from time to time, she just likes tormenting him cause its funny

she prefers coffee over tea, which is why they have coffee at their house, she prefers it over tea but would still drink tea if they had some, plus prof membrane basically makes them drink it at times, she prefers her coffee black, but wont mind it being super sweet either

the necklace that her dad gave her actually has a tracker in it incase she ever gets lost, they never get lost cause they're mostly at home, but just incase

she thinks zim is interesting, they think its interesting how he is and how it even got to earth, but she cant be bothered to find out, all she knows is that he's annoying

gaz is sort of blind, they have hyperopia (far-sighted) she does have glasses but only uses them if they really need to, she doesnt wanna look like a nerd like dib

she usually cuts her hair by themself, mostly cause of how when they go get it cut they usually give her a bob instead of what they wanted

probably prefers punk, goth, and emo over scene, but still admires others who can pull it off

has a little case for their game slave! its like a little bag, shes always sure to have it on themself so shes never bored

GIR

gir has no real age mostly cause of how hes a robot, but i like to think theyre always seen as a child, 8 years old to be exact

gir is autistic coded!

3'5 in height

they have no gender as well, obviously, but do have "preferred" pronouns (it usually gets called by it/they/he)

he really does care about zim and his mission, it just has a lot of trouble focusing on it, or functioning right, since theyre literally made of garbage

his sir unit build is the same as mimis (taks sir), but just defected with misprints and messed up parts, thats why he has prints in the same place as mimi, just messed up

adding onto that, he doesnt have the same big arm as mimi on his left, both his arms are from the builds that regular invaders have

a lot of his parts float, his arms can still extend and move freely, its just that they float , there is a sertain extent where if they go too far they just detach or recoil back to the body, they only detach if zim needs to fix anything on gir

a lot of his body can be detached, almost every single part, he can either still be sentient while they do, or be turned off

zim actually made girs disguise, like handmade, so it has different shades of green scattered around on it, its obviously fake, but people fall for it

the blue color on him changes depending on how he feels, usually its just other shades of blue (ex. dark blue for sad, bright blue for happy/excited, a little duller blue for neutral, you get it) , but when he actually takes orders is when he turns a different color (red)

a lot of the foods he eats can actually turn into fuel for him, depends on what it is, if its chips, soda, slushies, donuts, or any foods that would be on irk as well, will most likely be transferred into energy for him, if its foods like pizza, tacos, or just anything thats specific to earth, it will most likely get jammed into his system, to where zim has to clean almost all the time

a lot of his system is messed up, but zim fixed it up a bit, he doesnt know what causes gir to be crazy and silly and just the way he is, but he feels like it wont feel right if gir was just a normal sir unit

ill probably come back to this to add or fix some stuff if i ever feel the need to, but for now these are all the headcanons i have for them!! these are either adding onto or just new ones that werent on the refs i made for them, so yeah!! again this is just how i see them, you dont have to agree or anything

hey good looking, since youve been playing AoM again lately, what civs would you want in an hypothetical idealised AoM2?

well you see my most ewsteemed gentleman, ive been putting some thought into this:

obviously we include the three core civilizations. wouldnt feel right without them. and while were on the subject i know fun is the priority but maybe a 5-foot-step towards accuracy. not a priority though

the antlanteans can bugger off no-one liked them. weird inca-roman-greek nonsense. llamas. pffft.

we can keep the chinese if we re-work them and make them integrate better into the game.

id like to see one of the old mesopotamian empires. would only make sense. since it would make more sense to have but one, id recommend either the babylonians or the assyrians. my pick is babylonians personally. the trick is we need to sort out the fact that so many of aoms egyptian myth units are from this region....

india would be interesting. reworks arent the topic at hand, but if we keep the three major gods system the common trimurti is already set up. gonna have to differentiate their war elephants from egypt though (if egypt keeps theirs)

i suppose a central american civ isnt out of the question. who doesnt love obsidian? i personally would lean more towards the mayans since the aztecs usually get most of the attention but thats just me...

i personally feel no compulsion to bring in the japanese, but i guess we can to draw in the weeb crowd...

as much as it would delight me, im not sure theres a place for celts (which would be the most ahistoric of factions anyway) or slavs, as i feel there might be too much mechanical design overlap with the norse, but perhaps a more clever man than myself could figure that one out.

Do you have any thoughts on clown church/purpleblood religion it's my favorite aspect of homestuck and I always like seeing how other people interpret it. I mostly have been thinking about how it changes on earth C from alternia, but alternian clown church is also cool

Like I literally hate how its interpretted bc its literally taking a bunch voudo inspo and using ICP lingo and more inspo from another musical artist/band that my friend pointed out a while ago to me and I cant remember but MY GOD

A lot of the stuff they were using in the clown church religion really felt like they looked up small bits of vodou and used some stuff they already know and are probs more stereotypes then fact and demonized tf out of it RTYVGBUHJNKM GOD IM IN HATE

My thought process of clown religion is that we dont get much, and i do not believe its a not to be spoken of cult, That doenst really makes sense to me i guess bc these bitches are literally wearing their face paint out in the open, theres no fucking way tbh LOL. At most to me its literally a closed off religion in homestuck. Plus its literally normal to murder on Alternia too so like PLEASE??????

Ok NOW I am going to actually talk about how I see it and stop complaining about how its seen DERFTYGUHI

I see the the clown church as definitely something we dont get much talk about in the OG homestuck so ive basically written into it a LOT and I honestly dont really look at hiveswap or friendsim for refs bc these ppl are fucking making me crazy bc they kinda are TRYING to demonize Gamzee so they demonize the purples and the clown religion in general

Since we're reading the comic and if you think about it, we are reading this religion from an empire that is being manipulated by its dictator (The Condensce) and that dictator is also being manipulated somewhat by someone behind the scenes (Lord English). We already know that the religions messiahs are supposedly Lord English and Doc Scratch

But I dont even think thats the case!! Because The more I think about it, dont even think it makes much sense for them to be literal messiahs/gods bc it really feels like a goddamn joke bc neither of them can exist at all without the game!!

SO I specifically believe that Doc Scratch and/or Lord English had requested some kind of hierarchy and she manipulated the religion overtime and now Doc Scratch and/or Lord English are literally WORSHIPPED and then the whole warped version of the religion was impliemented so hard for so long that the religion cant be seen as anything else on Alternia other then a sacrifical cult that aims to deduce the lowblood population!!

Here are some things I have written for it before it became deduced that in the OG:

-The actual name of the clown church religion is called "The Dark Spiral"

-There are more messiahs and also gods that can be worshipped within the The Dark Spiral but the main ones are Mirth and Rage (Who are NOT Doc Scratch and/or Lord English)

-The Dark Spiral is a closed off religion (with exceptions after a long process)

-The Dark Spiral has many public units where they can give thanks/pray (That are basically temple type settings) but those are not the actual places of worship. The locations of the places of worship are unknown to anyone who arent followers of The Dark Spiral. There are specific passages/trails one must take and going any other way may kill them.

-Places of worship are large open spaces that are well hidden and are secluded. They can be either underground, in a LARGE SECLUDED areas away from civilization, or within caves or mountains

-Ritual sacrifices for either Mirth or Rage are usually large animals that are usually cared for and loved. Troll sacrifices for Mirth are minimal and only true followers that volunteer can be sacrifices. A person who is unwilling to be a sacrifice does not bring good luck from Mirth. A sacrifice specific for Rage is also minimal and usually a troll who commits a crime towards the The Dark Spiral or someone within The Dark Spiral who is believed to be truly despicable.

-Special Stardust is made of Lusus bones, A special mineral only known to Alternia (it shines like a rainbow and when grinded up for the stardust its definitely gives a glittery look), and ashes of loved ones (which can be anything not just trolls).

-Special Stardust is mixed into their face paint sometimes on special occasions like a festival or celebration of some kind having to do with the faith.

-Followers of The Dark Spiral pray with the tips of their fingers on their chin or cheeks with their face looking up with their eyes closed specifically when they are tanking the Messiahs or Gods that they may specifically worship within the faith. They pray like most when it's a general prayer of good luck. They also do very quick prayers of luck by honking their nose twice (similar to how some may form a cross on their chest)

-There are most definitely different branches of belief in The Dark Spiral but the main and most popular depiction of The Dark Spiral is the one I am talking about now.

And of course all of this might've been erased and warped thanks to The Condensce and other trolls who may have been dedicated to her or misguided followers. (Not saying canonically but saying that's literally what mightve happen with my specific interpretation of the clown church AKA The Dark Spiral)

i hope this helps you in your ranting/rambling mood! im curious about what hetalia canon you’d change, if any, and why. alternatively, what canon do you wish the fandom would pay more attention to?

1thanks for the ask! sorry this is so late btw, i sort of had to be Out and About today, but i do have many thoughts. i hope this is to your liking :)

so the first thing that comes to mind is how infuriating the canon ages are. i dont think hima put very much thought into how ages work, or maybe he tweaked it to fit a specific character without considering the internal logic of the series at large. what he did was make it so that every character is about the same age during the modern day, and painted himself into a corner where ages need to be traced backwards from the present day, if that makes sense. like he wants everyone to be in their teens or 20s but not all countries are the same “age” if you can say that..idk, like how china and america could be confused for being the same age when china is like 25 times older than him. and this sort of results in some anachronisms (which, anachronisms and misinformation are inevitable when you try to personify countries because you’re just one person writing your interpretation of history and you have biases and whatnot, which is why its important for fans to DO YOUR RESEARCH) or just weird inconsistent stuff like america being the same age during the revolution as he is in the present day and also the entirity of chibitalia.

chibitalia makes absolutely no sense beyond a narrative perspective, and the narrative didnt even need children for it to be good. im also especially annoyed by chibitalia because it serves as proof that himaruya doesnt care about the internal logic of age in hetalia. factors such as “strength-” which i assume to mean military power- the economy, political stability, and cultural identity are what seem to be the driving forces behind the nations’ ages. so let’s take a look at chibitalia through those lenses. if we’re talking military power in the time frame of chibitalia, which im taking to be the early modern period (1500-1800), but it really could be When Fucking Ever during the hapsburg rule of northern italy. the papal states managed to organize and carry out several crusades to recapture jerusalem, and despite none of them being successful and also occasionally resulting in wars against the turks, it does take a lot to consistently organize and carry out that sort of military action without having what we today would consider a politically unified country. this is sort of acknowledged in canon, although its more of an offhanded mention thats brought up once and then never mentioned again, when turkey says that italy kicked his ass one time a couple hundred years ago. concerning the economy, italy’s economy during the early modern period was off the shits, actually. the whole. renaissance thing? although john green raises an interesting point of Did The Renaissance Actually Happen, its a convenient name for the time period, so we’re going with it. and especially where venice is concerned, seeing as venice was one of the wealthiest city states in the entire country, and i believe veneto still is. and then there’s political stability- this is an interesting one because it can be interpreted in different ways both in and out of the hetalia canon. for example, former soviet states are depicted as being younger, despite many of them being very old countries, and america and canada are depicted as babies during the colonial period- even though the colonies basically governed themselves with little oversight from the british crown. this also applies to moldova, who is referenced as being a fierce warrior by hungary when she’s a kid- about 1000 years ago- and is still depicted as being a 12 year old in the modern day. i think where chibitalia is concerned, hima used the control of northern italy by the hapsburg dynasty and the holy roman empire to mean that there was a lack of political strength for the northern italian city states, but! the final say in all matters belonged to the church. it had been like that for hundreds of years, and the church was very much not a design of the hre or the hapsburg dynasty. the church was kind of in greater control over the hre and the hapsburgs than the actual monarchs (until 1648) at some points, which i think would make italy a bit more politically strong than austria or hre. not that he’d be a whole adult or anything, more that they’d all be around the same age physically- or even that austria would be younger! and of course the italian cultural identity was long since formed. because of all that i dont think it makes any goddamn sense for italy to be a child- and of course this also applies to romano, who’s mostly representing naples and sicily. some things are different of course due to the north/south split, but most of this does apply to both.

anyway, i also think that america’s age makes no sense. i love america as a teenager, i really do. teenagers scare the living shit out of me and america is teenagers. but the way that he ages is totally historically inaccurate. so he’s a child during the 7 years war? cool. why does he age like a regular human during the interwar period leading up to the revolutionary war? yes america was politically stable yes the south was filthy fucking rich off slave labor, but where’s the american cultural identity? nonexistent. the military might? there is no american military in 1750. so yes america should be a little older than a child, but he shouldn’t be the same adult he is in 1780 that he is in ww2 and in the modern day strips. i think this was done because it might be a lil fucked to have grown ass england be fighting a tween in the revolutionary war strips, although i say lean into that fucked-ness. of course thats just me, although i do think it might be more narratively impactful if arthur was an adult and alfred was a child during the revolutionary war strips, and more accurate. i think 11-14 is a good age, because at the time of the revolution, the states were more like their own countries, and no one particularly had an allegiance to america, they just had an allegiance against britain. people didnt really consider themselves americans over their state until after the war of 1812 (which ended in 1815), so him being middle-school aged at that point in time would really be interesting. kind of like an identity crisis, ya know? because it was, in all honesty, an identity crisis- who were the people of these united states (these united states is the og name)? n e whay, yeah. age is stupid and theres more characters i could talk about but id be here all night and i am tired!

When, when will New York come back? It’s a city of energy. Energy defines New York. And how will that energy reconstitute itself? What about the tourists? What about the restaurants, the bars, the museums? Broadway, businesses — everything.

It was a day or two after that, that that I woke up with this line in my head, and I started writing:

I forgive you, New York.

I forgive you your snarl, your aggression, your hustle and hassle.

I forgive you LaGuardia and your summer stench of uncollected garbage.

I forgive you no cabs in the rain.

I forgive you the crusty, deceptive puddles of slush at curbside.

I even forgive you the Mets and no place to park and delivery trucks in the bike lane.

All is forgiven if you will only return:

the subway soliloquies of the homeless, the trains that never come, the trains that stop in the middle of the tunnel, the traffic,

the garbage trucks blocking cross streets, the jackhammering of construction, the hiss of smoke from a manhole cover,

the idling stretch-limo S.U.V.s, the drone of a million air-conditioning units, the drivers leaning on horns,

the city hum that never ceases, until it did.

I forgive you.

I forgive you now and forever.

How could I ever begrudge you your restlessness, your relentlessness, your lip, your effrontery, your appraising glance, your pushiness, your impatience, your disregard for social niceties,

Look, I’ll pardon the madness of having AirTrain JFK start in Queens rather than Manhattan.

I forgive you the whiff of urine on a Sunday morning, the broken glass in Central Park and the way you persuade people that saying I may have a window next month is OK behavior.

I forgive you for driving me crazy at times, for making me want to scream, Get me out of here!

I forgive you everything without exception if you will only promise to reappear.

Please, do not be proud.

I know, we cursed you with irresponsible abandon.

Forgive us, as I forgive you.

We did not imagine the silence that could fall, the sirens that would fill the night, the sick and the dying, the doctors laboring on the 10th circle of the inferno, the ghostliness of shuttered stores, the empty skies, the canceled events, the post-apocalypse latex gloves scattered here and there. We took you too much for granted.

Yes, forgive us for not giving daily praise for the miracle of New York.

I know I did not thank you enough for those clear winter mornings,

for that dive I love on West 26th, for your tolerance, for your open arms,

Thoughts on Goddamn Voltron

1. The treatment of Shiro and Adam as a couple was the stupidest shot at “representation” i think I’ve ever seen and it honestly made me angry. We don’t know anything about Adam. We don’t know anything about him but his name and that he possibly has some sort of relationship with Shiro. We are never even allowed to see them physically touch (because this would be gross I suppose) and when Adam is killed off immediately in the initial invasion there is no emotion to it other than he was someone we were supposed to care about because Shiro cared about him. Or ...so its suggested. Not only is Shiro denied any sort of emotional catharsis after being forced to be stoic and endure unimaginable amounts of physical and mental trauma there is no one waiting for him to come home. They are killed for absolutely no reason aside from creating some bizarre boyfriend in the refrigerator for a character who certain has enough anger at the Galran empire that he doesn’t need anymore. If Adam was introduced to show Shiro was gay then that failed. If Adam was introduced to heighten the stakes that failed too. Adam was created to die for no damn reason and unless he somehow appears in season 8 this kind of shit queer-baiting is un-acceptable...hell even IF he comes back who cares? we aren’t even given the chance to know him as a person so whats to come back? Sidenote: Don’t make Shiro sick with some terrible wasting disease and then NEVER mention it again. What the SHIT. 2. The treatment of Lance is unimaginably cruel and I don’t understand it. In season three Lance proves himself to be a mature member of the team and not only does he help Allura who took his lion he becomes Keith’s right hand after a rocky start. He has shown multiple times that he is vulnerable, once to Keith’s face, and yet his leader and his team constantly question his choices and insult him. It went beyond ribbing this season. It felt like everytime there was a chance for the writers to do it they stuck in a Lance barb. I kept expecting a breakdown a moment where he finally defended himself, walked away or told them that he was tired of it. But that moment never happened. Instead the strong right hand of voltron just takes it and continues to do his job. No matter how many great shots or encouraging comments he makes he never gets fucking complimented. Also the writers seemed more determined then ever to give him absolutely no arc or focus. Which leads me too- 3. Why the hell did Hunk have Lance’s story arc. Theres this thing in writing called “setup and payoff” Its a super simple concept that all writers,especially in film and television, know how to use. You set up a concept early and later on it pays off with an emotional revelation or a character change. In seasons one two and three...even four? Lance was the only one on the crew besides Pidge who talked about his family. We saw them in his memories. he had a scene with Coran where he talked about missing earth. He talked about his mom and so on. That was his starting point and when he gets back to earth it should have been his family in the camps, his speech about being angry about coming back to a peaceful earth and a closed end to his talk with Keith about being a leader and how he respects him as one back in season 3. Having Keith compliment his bravery would cement him as his right hand the person hes SUPPOSED to be closest to on the team. Hunk had no set up for this. He never mentions his family or how much he misses them. He talks about food but for some reason he was given the ending arc that Lance EARNED but wasn’t given. In fact it feels like it was even written for Lance but was changed because they goddamn hate him and decided he doesn’t get an arc fuck you. 4. Hey. Hey Voltron. Its called fucking character development. If you wanted to make Allura and Lance have a relationship you can’t make them blush in ONE EPISODE and call it development. Why don’t you cut down on the 90 fucking minutes of brain melting action sequences and put in some more character development. You can’t just dedicate the first half of your season to some goofy (lance abusing) comedy then spend the last half in one constant exhausting battle and expect us to give a shit about the cadets or anyone you introduce on earth. To me the stand out episode this season was the one where everyone is floating in space. They had to...INTERACT with each other but even this episode felt empty because Keith was the only one allowed to act out...AGAIN. Where was Lances righteous anger? Or even Allura’s? Why is Hunk stepping into this role as mediator all the sudden? What even lead to that? Was he literally just written into the Lance roles? If you wanted to tear the group down to have them be built back up then you have to do so on equal footing and it felt....tame. Like you didn’t want the kids to worry too much. Stress makes people act in cruel ways sometimes and overcoming it is a part of good character development. Instead it was just some lame foreshadowing about the deux ex machina that was lion summoning. It had so much potential-SO MUCH.

5. Not everybody has to end up in a fucking relationship. Axca? Seriously? Man are you gonna crank out some romance bullshit in season 8 aren’t you voltron? Is that what your gonna do? Make sure everyone gets a set of corresponding genitalia to wrap everything up in a nice straight bow? I’m sure you’ll give Shiro some kind of significant other right? Or maybe just have him smile at a dude ala live action Beauty and the Beast because that's what representation looks like in 2018. 6. Coran not getting to build the spiritual successor of his grandfathers work is kinda bullshit.

He spent literally every season waxing lyrical about how great his pop pop was and how much he wanted to be the one to build something like he did and then the castle is destroyed and I’m like oh man so cool Coran is gonna get his wish.Thats so emotionally rewarding that after all the hero-worship Hes gonna have the opportunity to build a new castle even better than the one his grand-oh -no...ok Sam did it. Yeah ok.

7.YOU CAN’T SPEND ONE EPISODE ON EARTH BEING DESTROYED AND SHOW MAYBE THREE PEOPLE AND EXPECT ANYTHING TO HAVE EMOTIONAL WEIGHT. Hey, remember the movie Independence day? Not a great movie but it actually felt like the world was being invaded. It felt like peoples lives were being interrupted on a large scale and it accomplished this by showing the invasion from multiple pov’s worldwide. Would that have been so hard? Maybe show a little girl at school seeing a Galra ship. A man in Africa? A mother in Russia? Just quick shots. Thats all you need. A few establishing shots to show that people are experiencing something foreign and terrifying. I know its a kids show and you gotta what...keep it Y-7 but the Galra literally killed thousands and thousands of people-possibly millions you can’t just gloss over that. STAKES CAUSE TENSION. WITHOUT STAKES OR JUSTIFICATION A BATTLE IS EMPTY AND POINTLESS.OH ON THAT NOTE. 7. THE BATTLES IN THE LAST EPISODES BECOME RIDICULOUSLY BORING AND REPETITIVE. You can tell what the writers wanted to write. They wanted to write whole scenes where people star trek groaned in chairs and shouted about how much time they had.Because of the season lack of setup or stakes buildup in the previous episodes theres no tension whatsoever. Do I care about the people of earth? No I haven’t even seen them. I care about Shiro and the mains ...not even the cadets. I haven’t seen them interact enough with each other to even establish their personalities. So if the whole earth fries eh...I care more if Shiro is ok because i’ve gotten to know him over time. If the entire battle was to save Shiro from a falling ship (HOW THE FUCK DID HE SURVIVE THAT BTW I GUESS BEING A CLONE MADE HIM IMMORTAL) It would have more weight to it than the entire Hour long clusterfuck that was the battle for Hunk’s Parents, literally the only humans we care about. 8. WORLDBUILDING? HOW ABOUT FUCK YOU. Wow...so WW3 huh. That sounds interesting Voltron you wanna...no? Alright so...Russia is still a country this far in the future? Is China still communist or? Hey...why is this lady the queen of the Garrison? Why is her position so important? Who funds the Garrison? Is it the United States? The UN? Is it an international organization? Who pays the bills? The funding must come from some government who would be curious why you asked for millions of dollars towards all these bizarre supplies that could be used to build the biggest ship ever made.Why is Admiral Sanda god? She keeps threatening to go over their heads in the chain of command but that means that SHE has to report to someone? WHo?? THE PRESIDENT? SOME KIND OF WORLD LEADERSHIP COUNCIL? I know this shit is hard but come ON. Earth is NOT like these alien planets Voltron has been on that have a centralized monarchy or singular race with one central government. If Sanda is worried about causing wars and global panic thats fine but shes the one commiting treason by not reporting to her own superiors and letting the leaders of the free world make decisions on behalf of their own people. One person can’t make all the decisions we call that LAAAAAAAAZZZZYYYYYY. Oh and about Admiral Sanda? 9. Admiral Sanda is the worst villian Voltron ever faced Why did you try and give her a redemption arc? Every decision she made was stupid every choice was just...so dumb. She betrayed everyone and her level of power kept making me go...why...is she the queen of earth? When she died I was like good. What a dumbass. Don’t try and redeem someone who did nothing good in the first place especially if you never established enough world building to show she might have been correct. We can’t just trust TELL you have to SHOW us. 10. If you think the racism against immigrants is bad now I can’t even imagine the civil wars when actual aliens just invite themselves over. 11. Thanks for fucking up our tide systems by parking a fucking Balmera directly in our atmosphere assholes. In conclusion:THANKS I HATE IT.

Leif removed the Light Brand’s sheath from his waist, and returned the pieces of the blade to it. “I’m home.” He whispered with his head bowed down to touch it. Then, he leaned it against the throne.

He took a few steps back and stared at the now empty throne. He inhaled and exhaled deeply.

“Congratulations, Lord Leif.” He heard someone say from behind him.

He turned around and half-smiled at the owner of the voice.

“Our wish has finally come true. It took a while, but it’s finally real, Finn.”

“Yes.” Finn nodded with a small smile on his face.

“Thank you so much for staying by my side all this time.” Leif extended a hand.

Finn paused for a moment before slowly reaching and grabbing his hand.

“Please continue to serve me just as well in the future as you always have.”

“Of course.” Finn answered with a huge smile.

Leif smiled back.

“Lord Leif!” Dorias walked up to him.

Finn quickly ended the handshake.

“Dorias. You worked hard very hard for my sake as well. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“Thank you.” Dorias bowed his head slightly. “You are now officially the Prince of Leonster. We won’t be able to hold a proper coronation right now, but never forget that.”

“Yeah, I will. However, I now must free the rest of Northern Thracia from the empire’s rule. I don’t think I will truly be the prince until then.”

“You are right. But to accomplish that goal, you must…”

“Prince Leif!” Miranda walked up to him with her arms crossed and interrupted Dorias. “Sorry to interrupt your happy moment, but I need to speak with you.”

“I don’t mind, Miranda.” He smiled at her.

She relaxed for a second, but then narrowed her eyebrows once more. “I know it’s sudden, but I want you to honor our promise.”

“I know. We’ll head in that direction right away.” He nodded.

“Excuse me, but what promise are you talking about?” Dorias looked at him with a puzzled expression.

“I promised her that I would save her country, Alster. Dorias, please prepare to head out to battle soon.”

“H-Hold on! We can’t do that!” Dorias yelled in a flustered voice.

“Why not? Alster has been suffering under the empire’s rule all this time, just like Leonster has. Why shouldn’t we go save them, too?”

“I’m not saying that we shouldn’t save them. I’m saying that it’s impossible to save them right now.”

“But why!? We were able to retake Leonster, so why can’t we do the same for Alster!?”

Dorias closed his eyes, wrinkled his brow, and shook his head. “It’s impossible. The strength of the empire’s army in Alster is far too different than the one that was in Leonster.”

“No matter how many enemies there are, it doesn’t mean we won’t win! We’ve been up against a lot of enemies this whole time, yet we’ve still won and come this far!”

“You don’t understand.” August interjected, speaking his words slowly.

“What do you mean, August?!”

“The enemies we have fought thus far are nothing compared to the empire’s true power. Think of the strength of the army we have already fought, and multiply it by the number of countries the empire has taken over across the continent. That’s probably their true power.”

“So you’re saying that we’ve only gotten this far through luck?!”

“No, I’m not. I’m just saying that it would be careless for a ragtag army led by a fifteen-year-old boy to fight the imperial army.”

Leif glared at him. “But things are different now! We took back Leonster Castle! That’s proof enough that we can match them!”

“I agree with August. Now is the time to get strong enough to face them. You cannot get impatient, Prince Leif.” Dorias warned him.

However, Leif couldn’t agree with them. He balled his hands into fists.

“If we take our time, then Alster will be screwed!” Miranda yelled.

Dorias and August looked at her. “Why?”

“The citizens have been fighting to liberate the country for a long time now. If we don’t hurry, then many of them are going to die!”

“I don’t know if we can… Why are they trying to revolt now?”

“Don’t play dumb with me!” She screamed.

August frowned.

“You of all people should know what’s going to happen next. Prince Leif just retook Leonster Castle! Chances are, the news will soon spread to Alster. Won’t the people be encouraged by it?”

“Makes sense.”

“There’s no way the people of Alster can oppose the imperial army on their own. No matter how you look at it, they need Prince Leif and his army.” Miranda argued. Tears started to well up in her eyes.

“When I fled from Leonster, I hid in Alster for a long time. Thanks to Queen Ethnia and the people there, I was able to survive and make it home.” Leif looked at both August and Dorias, then took a deep breath. “I want to save Alster. No matter what it takes.”

August sighed deeply at Leif’s words.

Everyone went silent for a moment.

“……I understand.” Dorias said quietly.

Leif and Miranda’s eyes opened wide with joy. August looked at Dorias in total shock.

“If you insist, then I cannot disagree with you.”

“Thank you, Dorias.”

“But, I’d like to request one thing.” He narrowed his eyes at Leif.

Leif held his breath.

“I’m going to take half the army with me to Alster, so please, bring everyone else with you tomorrow.”

“What are you saying? Why not go together?”

“Lord Leif, everyone has been fighting very hard to retake Leonster. They’re tired. We can’t push them like this any longer.”

“Yeah… you’re right.” Leif nodded.

“Fortunately, the cavalry unit said they were able to rest for a bit while standing guard outside the castle. I’ll take my cavaliers and go to Alster with them.”

“Okay.”

“I’m going too!” Miranda said.

Dorias looked at her with a gentle smile on his face. “You are Alster’s ray of hope. Please go with Lord Leif tomorrow. It is what’s be best for your tired people.”

“But…”

“Plus, it will be easy for me to lead those who know me well. The knights I trained are the most suitable for this fight. It’s all for Alster’s sake. Please understand.”

“…I will.” Miranda nodded reluctantly.

“I’m going to start getting ready to leave now.” Dorias bowed, then started to walk away.

“Lord Dorias…” August ran after him.

“Lord August, I leave the rest to you. Though our ideals have clashed, I’m confident that yours are what the prince needs from now on. I wish you the best of luck.” He bowed.

August didn’t speak a word, and only stared at him.

“I’ll be leaving now.” Dorias bowed once more, then left the throne room.

That night, Leif decided to sleep in his old room. The moment he entered it, he smelled a nostalgic scent, bringing back memories of his daily life long ago.

He threw himself down on his bed. He tossed and turned in it. It was smaller than he remembered.

But, he only spent a moment lost in that nostalgic thought. He was so tired that he became drowsy almost immediately.

As he fell asleep, he vowed once again that he would retake Alster without fail.

From a distance, a large ship appears with large curved spires on each side glowing blue with energy. This was the great Altean flagship The Castle of Lions, and on the bridge of the vessel are the Paladins of Voltron; Shiro, Kieth, Pidge, Lance and Hunk manning their stations along with Princess Allura and her advisor Coran, the lone survivors of the destroyed Planet Altea and the Altean race. The castle bridge holo screen displays shows a small hexagon shape on the Ice cluster indicating the presence of a signal.

“According to the castles sensors, the distress call came from this area.” Coran relayed to the team.

“I don’t like this guys” Kieth said with suspicion in his voice “ doesn’t it seem weird that we just happened to get a distress call just as we’re planning to take down Zarkon?”

“Paranoid much Kieth?” Lance cracked.

The Paladins, who had been brought together by the discovery of an alien mechanical lion on earth, to find the lone survivors of a race wiped out ten thousand years ago and reassemble the mighty Voltron, Legendary Defender of the Universe. Together they battled an evil war like race known as the Galra who have one intention to capture Voltron and conquer the galaxy. The Defenders of the Universe recently found allies in a secret group of Galra known as the Blade of Marmora and have been working on a plan to defeat the Empire and restore peace. So to receive a distress call at this time would be a dangerous coincidence.

“He does have a point you know” Pidge agreed “ this iceberg grave yard looks like the perfect place for a trap.”

“ I realise we have concerns about this” Allura began “ but lets not forget as Paladins of Voltron, we are honour bound to help those in need, no matter the circumstances.” she reminded.

Shiro, the leader of the Paladins looked at the ice clusters and considered everything that was said before coming to a decision.

“ Alluras right, so lets get to our lions and take a look, but stay alert just in case.” He decided.

On the bow of the castle ship, the four spires and the centre spire opened and from them emerge five giant mechanical lions in the colours of red, green, blue, yellow and the largest in black bearing large red and white wings. These were the Lions of Voltron, the five that would unite to form Voltron itself. They fly towards the clusters of ice in formation, red and blue on the right, green and yellow on the left with black in the centre.

“It looks quiet.” Hunk observed from the durable Yellow Lion, “Yeah too quiet for my liking.” Kieth agreed from the temperamental Red Lion. Shiro in Paladin armour looked around the area from the violet lit cockpit of the Alpha Black Lion and even he could tell something wasn’t right.

“I’ll scan for Bio rhythms.” Said Pidge from the intellectual and daring Green Lion. The screens and instruments on her dashboard begin scanning the area, but then a red screen with a hexagon shaped cross appears indicating theres nothing in the area.

“That’s odd, theres no sign of life here?” Said Pidge in surprise. Lance looked to his instruments showing the presence of the signal in the compassionate and fun Blue Lion “But we’re getting close to the distress signal maybe we’re not close enough yet.”He assumed.

“Everyone keep a tight formation but be ready, I have a bad feeling about this.” Shiro said with caution.

As the lions flew deeper into the ice clusters the signal gets stronger, but as a chunk of ice flies by it reveals another chunk with what appeared to be a beacon like device piercing the surface. The lions loom over the device and see no sign of a crashed ship bringing concern among the Paladins.

“What the cheese?” Exclaimed Lance. “ Its a beacon of some kind.” Said Pidge “and that means….”

Suddenly without warning purple energy blasts bombarded the clusters and the lions. The lions grunted as they looked up and saw above them a fleet of small alien fighters lead by a giant alien warship with a cannon mounted in the centre, the design of the ships lead to the origin of only one alien race.

“It’s the Galra! Its an ambush!” Shiro Exclaimed. “Scatter!”

The lions broke formation as the fighters flew in after them. Onboard the Galra warship the bridge is manned by two lieutenants wearing grey armour with glowing purple alien symbols and helmets to cover their eyes. With them are a battalion of robotic Galra sentries. On the command station stands the fleets commander the most obnoxious and shortest of them all Commander Morvak who stands with a sinister grin on his face.

“The fools fell into our trap” Morvak laughed “ Now capture those lions for the glory of the Galra Empire! Vrepit sa!”

The Galra fighters fly through the clusters chasing the lions whilst firing on them but hitting the clusters. The lions try to avoid the blast but whilst the Red Lion flies to avoid them the other lions are struggling to navigate the clusters. “Guys we can’t manoeuvre in these clusters!” Lance shouted. “ We have no choice, we’ll have to get out and face them.” Shiro said” Kieth deal with the fighters in the clusters, Hunk, Lance take the left flank, Pidge take down the fighters on the right I’ll attack the warship head on!” He commanded.

“Yes sir” Kieth replied, “Rodger that” Responded Pidge “ Lets do this.” Hunk exclaimed “Right behind you!” Exclaimed Lance as the lions separated with Blue, Black, Green and Yellow heading out of the ice clusters whilst Red stays to fight the pursuing fighters.

The Red lion flies through the clusters avoiding the laser fire using its enhanced speed and agility. The fighters turn a corner round a large chunk of ice only to find their target is no longer present. Suddenly from behind one of the clusters the Red lion flew in fast and an invisible force slices through all the fighters which is the Red Lions jaw blade and the fighters explode behind it leaving Kieth with a grin on his face.

Outside the cluster the Blue lion is avoiding the blasts from the chasing Galra fighters but suddenly takes a hit, shaking up Lance in the cockpit. “Whoa! things are heating up!” Lance said but then puts on a look of determination. “Time to cool’em down!” He moved the flight sticks and turned the lion around facing the fighters. The lion opens its jaws, and fires a large white beam which upon contact encases the fighters in ice and the immense cold renders them powerless.

“ Heh heh looks like the Galra have a case of brain freeze!” Lance cracked.

Meanwhile the Green Lion is outflying the Galra fighters but nearly gets hit with an energy blast, the lion then flies over the fighters then forms a green, grey and black cannon on its back. The cannon then fires a green energy beam at the four fighters. Upon contact without warning vines begin to grow on the fighters which then crush them in a tight grip and explode soon after. Green emerges from the blast with a victorious roar.

“Gee who knew the Galra had a green thumb!” Said Pidge with a smirk.

A fighter was about to fire on the Green Lion until from the left the Yellow Lion charged into its side crushing it. The lion charges and deliberately crashes into three other fighters and tosses them off its face, and into an incoming group of fighters. The Yellow Lion could handle the beating of their laser blasts with its durable armour.

“Wa-hoo!” Hunk yelled “ Looks like its demolition derby season for Galra fighters!”

The Galra warship fires all its weapons on its intended target, the Black Lion, which flies to avoid the blasts from the starboard cannons, and begins to charge its Ion Cannon. The lion forms its double jawblade in its mouth and charges forward with the jets in its wings. The Ion cannon fires an enormous blast at the Black lion but it moves to avoid it and targets the cannons main supports using the jaw blade to slice into the support separating the cannon from the ship. The cannon explodes and Black flies away. The lieutenant checks the screen on the bridge and sees that the Ion cannon is destroyed.

“Sir, the Black lions destroyed the Ion cannon and our fighters are destroyed. Shall we retreat?” He said.

Morvak was about to answer until. “We shall not retreat.” Another voice answered for him, a voice that sent a shiver down his very spine. He turned to see a hooded individual who’s cloak covered half her face with glowing yellow eyes and blue skin with red marks on her face. It was Haggar high priestess of the Galra Empire.

“If you are too incompetent to capture the lions Morvak. I shall handle this, personally.” She said with a hint of venom in her voice. Outside the Lions had defeated the remaining fighters as the Black lion flies towards them. “Team report.” Shiro called “Fighters are down Shiro.” Kieth replied “ Then lets take down that warship.” Shiro ordered knowing what to do next. “Everyone get ready to form…” Suddenly Shiro cries in pain as he begins to feel a surge of power striking him and his lion. “GAAAAAAAA!”

“Shiro!” Exclaimed Kieth. “Look” Pidge pointed the other Paladins to the source of the dark energy striking the Black Lion. It was coming from the warship emanating from the hands of Haggar. “It’s the witch!” Lance exclaimed “ We can’t let her get the Black Lion, TAKE HER DOWN!!” Kieth ordered as the four lions fired energy blasts from their mouths and at the warship to blast the witch. She moves quickly to avoid the energy blasts almost like a black blur. Haggar fires a dark blast at the lions which they are quick to avoid before returning fire.

The Red Lion looks back to see the Black Lion floating lifeless in space. “Shiro, you okay?! Shiro!”Kieth called but got no response until Kieth hears a groan over the comms. In the lions cockpit Shiro is recovering from the blast he took. “I… I’m okay” He breathed as he tried to reboot his lion by moving the flight sticks but theres no response.”But my lions not responding.”He said. The Lions continued to stand their ground against Haggar, who is about to fire another blast until an incoming blast from the starboard side of the warship knocks her off balance taking her by surprise. She turns and glares at the source of the blast. The Castle of Lions.

“Coran focus fire on the warship!” Allura exclaimed from the bridge “Rodger that Princess!” Coran replied firing on the Galra ship. Using the opportunity the lions group up towards their alpha. Though Haggar tries to defend herself from the castle she sees the lions grouped together in one place and decides to strike, giving a yell as she generates a massive orb of dark energy and fires it at her prey. In the Blue Lion, Lance caught sight of a dark glow from behind them and sees the energy blast coming towards them.

“LOOK OUT!” Lance shouted as he quickly turns his lion to face the energy blast and fires a blast from its mouth, colliding with the witches dark magic. The energy builds up and an orb begins to form. Pidge looks at the energy readings coming from it and realises the collision is causing something to happen. “Lance stop it!….” Suddenly the orb explodes and engulfs everything in a bright light blinding The Paladins, Haggar, Allura, and Coran. The light soon fades, the Galra Warship has been reduced powerless and Haggar is unconscious. In the Castle of Lions, Allura and Coran are also rendered unconscious. However, there is one party not present and that was the Voltron Lions almost as if they’d simply vanished.

Elsewhere

High in the cool night sky, the Northern Lights shine, whip and flicker in the silence of the night. Far below this vibrant majestic sight was the kingdom of Arendelle, its populace were all sound asleep in their homes. High in the hills close to the snowy mountain five individuals sat on the grass covered ground near the forest. These were the royals of the kingdom, Queen Elsa and her sister Princess Anna with the Kingdoms Ice master and deliverer Kristof, his reindeer companion Sven and Olaf the little snowman who was created by Elsa. They all sat in front of a large rock and the evergreens around them had small traces of snow on the ground. They looked up at the night sky waiting for something.

“Ohhh how much longer do we need to wait?!” Anna said excitedly “Relax Anna, you won’t have to wait much longer.” Chuckled her boyfriend in assurance. “I can tell why your excited” Said Elsa putting her hand on her sisters shoulder.” Its only once every three years that millions of shooting stars appear in the sky above Arendelle.” “Yeah I’ll bet its the most amazing thing ever.” Said Olaf with a smile.

A month had passed since Arendelle had been thawed from an eternal winter accidentally caused by Elsa during her coronation. However, thanks to her sister the kingdom was saved and the two sisters were reunited after years of being apart. Sven then notices something in the sky and nudges Kristofs shoulder with his large nose getting his attention. Kristof sees what his friend is seeing and points it out to Anna and Elsa. As they look up to the sky they saw an amazing sight, millions of shooting stars soar across the sky through the Northern lights harmonsing with the very colours of the sky itself. This vibrant display reflected in their eyes and Anna all but marvelled at this display.

Although a beautiful sight, Anna looked to her elder sister and noticed a mild look of sadness on her face. “Elsa?” getting her sisters attention.

“Its nights like this that make me think of when Mom and Dad took us to see this when we were kids.”Said Elsa sadly. Annas expression turned to sympathy as she too remembered how their parents brought them to this very spot years ago. She placed her hand on her sisters shoulder,

“ I know”she said” I wish they were here too.” making her elder sister smile a little. “ Hey look there.” Called Kristof bringing their attention to the sky. They looked to see five stars shooting across the sky in colours of violet, red, green, blue, and yellow.

“Ooo pretty.” Awed Olaf, whilst Anna and Elsa looked up in amazement. A notion then popped into their heads and so they closed their eyes, as its said that making a wish on a shooting star before it disappears the wish would come true. Elsa took a moment to think about what to wish for, and out of everything she could think of only one thing came to mind.

” I…I wish… for someone to bring me happiness” she whispered quietly so that even Anna couldn’t hear her, but its said we must be careful what we wish for.

High above, the stars are actually the Voltron Lions crashing down from the sky. Inside the powerless Black Lion, Shiro who is finding it hard to stay conscious is trying to guide his lion down to the ground. Black begins to fall away from the rest of the group, and inside the other four lions Kieth, Lance, Hunk and Pidge are doing the best they can guide their lions into a controlled crash.

“Come on come on!” Kieth growls trying to pull his lion out of the crash. “ Yellow come on work for me!” Hunk tried.”Come on Blue anytime now!!” Lance panicked. Pidge looked outside and saw they were drawing ever closer to the ground. “Theres no time!” She cried “ EVERYONE BRACE YOURSELVES!” Shiro shouted.

As they braced themselves for the crash and the ground drawing ever closer Lance could only say one thing. “ Oh Quiznak!” The Lions crashed to the ground knocking down trees and leaving a trail of drag marks behind them sliding on the ground, building up a mound of dirt and rocks in front of them eventually bringing them to a halt. Steam poured from the lions as they cooled down.

Inside his lion Shiro begins to stir groaning as he did. He could see his lion was depowered, and the cockpit was completely dark. He emerges from the Black lion via the escape hatch located in the top of its head. He looks around his surroundings and sees he’s crashed in the middle of a forest at night. Shiro climbs down from his lion, but upon touching the ground he feels weak and dizzy realising he hasn’t fully recovered from his attack, but never the less, fights to stay awake.

“Princess. Come in.” Said Shiro activating the com channel in his helmet, but can’t get any response.”Coran respond please.” still no answer. “ Anyone.” There was only one sound static. He walks through the forest to find where his teammates crashed. He begins to climb a steep hill looking to see the Black Lion a distance behind him.

He feels tired and exhausted but forces himself to stay awake.

“…Shiro…re…..ou…re?….” Suddenly he heard a weak transmission coming through and he recognised the voice. “Kieth, is that you? Can you hear me?” Shiro answered back but there was no answer. He guessed it was due to the dense forest so he heads higher up the hill.

“Shiro, Come in are you there?” The signal got stronger. “Kieth, I’m here you guys okay?”

Not too far away the other Lions had crashed and their Paladins had just climbed out of their lions, and Lance anime style fell face first to the ground.

“Shiro, you made it are you okay?” Kieth said in relief that his friend was okay. “Yeah I’m okay how about you?” Shiro asked “ We’re a little battered but alive.” Kieth answered “Speak for yourself.” Groaned Lance as he got up.” The last time I got a headache like this there’d better be a simulator involved” “Oh no Lance” Said Pidge looking around the crash site “ this turned out a lot worse than the last time you crashed a simulator.” Suddenly they heard the sound of someone hurling and they all knew who it was Hunk as he was being sick after falling from space.

“ Sorry so sorry” he breathed before vomiting again much to the teams disgust “Hey you have to admit, thats a new record he’s never gone that long before” Pidge observed tilting her glasses. “So where are you?” Kieth asked.

In the hills deep in the forest

Shiro looks around to get his bearings.”I’m not too far from you, but I’m not sure where…” Shiro then groaned slightly and leaned against a tree. “Shiro, Shiro you still there?!” Kieth called “ Ngh, I’m fine” Shiro groaned “I just…” “You don’t sound fine, your probably still beat up from the blast you took.” Pidge interrupted. Suddenly they were startled by a howling sound echoing through the forest which spooks Lance and Hunk.

“W… Was that a wolf!” Lance said in surprise. Shiro could hear this too, and he activated the torch light on his gauntlet and shined it towards the trees. He looked closely and in the darkness he could see something disturbing, it was white eyes with growling. He wasn’t alone.

“Shiro, whats going on?!” Kieth said over the com Shiro moved his right hand and it began to glow purple and tried to stand his ground as the wolves emerged from the shadows growling and staring at their prey. Shiro soon realised he was too weak to fight and so there was only one choice. Run. He scurried down the hill with the wolves close behind, Shiro uses his cyber prosthetic hand to slice down a tree to try and slow them down but the wolves jumped over it.

“Shiro whats going on SHIRO!” Kieth shouted over the com Shiro couldn’t answer as he was trying to evade the wolves. One was getting very close to him and tried to leap onto him but he was able to swat it away with his prosthetic hand. Suddenly he saw the edge of a cliff he could see the jump was too far but he had no choice, he activated his armours jet pack which gives him a powered jump across the gap.

Suddenly the jet pack over heats mid way across, Shiro can see he won’t make it so he thrusts his prosthetic hand into the rock and screamed in pain as he dangles from the cliff edge. The wolves stop at the cliff edge and bark at their escaped prey as he climbed back up onto the ledge and rolls on his back in exhaustion. Later , he continues walking down hill but he’s tired and exhausted and begins to see double vision. In doing so he doesn’t see where he’s going and trips on a rock sending him rolling down hill hitting some rocks, loses his helmet and finally hits the ground and loses consciousness. “Shiro, are you there, Shiro, Shiro!” Echoed Kieth on the helmets com.

Nearby the Arendelle royals, Icemaster and snowman were riding back to the kingdom on Kristofs sled pulled by Sven going down the hill slopes. As they rode along Sven smelled something in the air and then out of the corner of his eye he saw something near the forest. He stops rather suddenly to the surprise of the passengers.

“H-hey whats up Sven? Why’d you stop?” Asked Kristof, Sven began snorting trying to point them to something but they couldn’t understand what. “Buddy I can’t understand you when you talk like that.” Said Kristof, Sven frowned and moved his head to the right.

“ I think he’s seen something.” Anna guessed so they looked to the right to see what it was the reindeer had seen. Olaf then saw something.

“Hey guys, not sure this is going to help but theres someone lying down over there.” He said directing their attention. They looked and Elsa could see what looked like a man lying down on the ground.

“ Oh no!” Said Elsa who immediately dismounted from the sled in concern she Anna, Kristof, and Olaf ran over to where the man was.

They came up and saw the man was wearing black and white armour with some glowing blue lines and an arrow like shape on the chest plate. He had black hair with a white forelock and on his face he had a large scar across the bridge of his nose. The sisters knelt down and turned him on his back and saw he was rather beaten up.

“Is he…” Anna asked “No he’s alive, just unconscious” Kristof said checking for a pulse. “What happened to him?” Anna asked her sister” I don’t know” Elsa answered “ but right now he needs help lets get him back to the castle.” With that Kristof picked up the man and carried him to his sled and loaded him onto the cargo area. However Elsa couldn’t help but wonder who was he?

Elsewhere:

Far in the darkest corners of space, stood a large alien fortress surrounded by fleets of warships in the centre of the star system surrounded by gas planets. The sight of the fortress sends fear down the spines of even the bravest of warriors for this was the stronghold of the Paladins of Voltron’s most hated enemy. On the bridge of this warship, Haggar silently enters the room aproaching the throne in the centre of the room and knelling before her master, the most vile of all the Galra race Emperor Zarkon.

“Sire” Said Haggar eerily “I regret to inform you our ambush has failed, and the Voltron Lions have… disappeared.” Zarkon sat on his throne tightly clenching its arms in anger.” How” he spoke.” I attempted to render the lions powerless,” Haggar began “ but the Blue Lion intercepted my dark magic with its own blast of energy, the collision of which caused an explosion. What happened to the Paladins after that I regrettably don’t know.” She finished awaiting her emperors response.

“Do not despair Haggar.”Zarkon began with darkness in his voice “ There is nowhere in this universe that they can hide from my visions reach. We will find them, we shall wipe the Paladins of the face of the universe forever and claim Voltron once and for all.” Zarkons eyes glowed with purple energy as the hunt for his quarry had begun.

The government just keeps borrowing more money just blatantly and financing just the most ridiculous craziest projects I mean I mean a lot of people are in a way to this but some of that kind of your take on this job a bigger license is servitude and we know who they’re in servitude to the government’s and I think that’s one of the main takes away from this is what are we doing to protect ourselves of course there’s many different ways to protect ourselves lots of solutions, dad just said there that he’s fed up with this it. I think that’s a no pun intended of course but I think that there was a bit of a pain there because once people realize that the Federal Reserve System is pushing them into servitude they are losing their losing their purchasing power everyday to go to work at the tax they are losing money off their paychecks I think it’s absolutely disgusting. But I do see a lot of solutions out of that and those Solutions also include a sad to know if I cash flow out and you know I obviously throughout history Racine that and of course centralized cryptocurrency for the time being not saying that especially what is going to happen down the line with that for the time being I mean competing currency systems are great and we got to get out of the legal tender sit down and stop being a debt slave because of course they shutting down a bottomless pit of debt you’re forced to ask for a ladder up from the government and the banking system which perks you in perfect servitude right where they want to say that to me unless and I take out of it a geographer I still want to emphasize the incredible work that you’ve been doing for decades warning people hate pretty corrupt what they say they’re doing and now we’re finally in position will it ever ever kind of kind of Reckoning. Zimbabwe but is the system just bulletproof with the United States spending so much money and and I kind of just see this continuing on for I don’t know how long but could this go on forever.

New Infamous Game Idea! Pt 1

Infamous Second Age ( This idea was by ThePyroGunner ) Link - https://youtu.be/sd17HC1A4QY - (1/2) (2/2) - https://youtu.be/5BPkRWUwDa4 Unless you've completed Paper Trail then, at the end of Paper Trail it says or reveals that Celia, (The Paper Conduit), Is now ruling over the D.U.P, ( Department of Unified Protection ), And is using them to fight the US Military or People who are most likely not okay with Conduits. And just to let you know...Zeke is coming back, WOOHOO! [-Just to let you know, Sucker Punch has said the Infamous Second Son is an origin story! So this, is a sequel!-] Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene ALL go to Curdun Cay to break out the conduits in there. It may be possible that you get to continue from Good or Evil but we'll see. Delsin then takes the power from the nearest conduit and their memories reaveals information about Celia and her plans plus as a bonus the new power you get is Glass! But the conduit you got the power from is brutally killed by the military. And Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene all escape from Curdan Cay! So Delsin now has to find Core Relays to master his Glass power. Suddenly, ALL conduits are now running from Curdun Cay while some are fighting the military but then...Something weird happens and ALL military are retrieving and a lot of conduits are running away too. But then, Zeke is there in a helicopter to tell you to get away because the government is going to nuke Curdun Cay! So after he tells them, Delsin and the crew get in the helicopter to go away as fast as possible! ---- Now here are some of the Karmic Choices that would've affect your Karma! Good Karma : Tell ALL conduits to get out and run and to not fight so they can all live! Bad Karma : Tell ALL conduits to fight while some of them escape! --- After that, Zeke explains that he has a plan to make conduits and humans live together in peace. And Zeke has a friend who works in the military and who told him that Curdun Cay was going to be nuked. And his friend also told him that a BIG change was going to happen in New Empire City that was will determine the future of both conduits and the world! That means that the government is rebuilding New Empire City into a 50/50 Futuristic and a 50/50 regular city. BUT, the government is actually rebuilding New Empire City for a purpose...For The First Sons and so that they can continue their work from before. So, New Empire City was built on top of the old New Empire City so that means that The NEW Empire City is a futuristic thriving utopia! But that actually means that the new utopia is heavily secured and monitored. Now...We are introduced to a whole new character! Dr. Adam Powers : Atomic How A Conduit : Activated from the Beast (John White) Before Conduit : Brilliant Scientist After Conduit : Part of the First Sons and government saw him as a opportunity to continue their conduit research Objective : End all conduits or at least make conduits less dangerous Now about the RFI...The RFI was supposed to kill all conduits and cure the plague but because of the incident in Infamous 2, when Zeke grabbed Cole's AMP and smash it. But because of that it didn't kill all conduits. As a side note, conduits have been around since the beginning of time. BTW, the RFI killed conduits but it must have actived conduit positive genes which make people conduits. Plus, in Infamous Second Son in Cole's Legacy, it foretells that the government was able to turn regular people without the conduit genes into conduits! Now, back to the story! So Delsin arrives in New Empire City and it's all peacful and calm. And when the story picks up Delsin and his crew plus Celia and her new Paper D.U.P start to fight the military so that means that New Empire City goes to being a shiny new utopia into a dark gritty version of that city. Sometime soon, the government evacuates the people and after that the government sets up a quarantine zone and yet again people are not able to escape. A few days after, the conduit army is in victory and the government is thinking about nuking the newest Empire City but they can't because the First Son's Lab is in there! So the battlefield is leveled and the First Son's Military begins to show up with soldiers and units with Anti-Conduit weaponry and armor so now they match the stats of conduits! Then Zeke is there with special health upgrades and gives them to Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene so they don't have a hard time fighting the First Son's Military. After that, Zeke is now thinking about fix this conflict in which it has gotten way out of hand! No side is going back down and his dreams of living in a world where conduits and humans can live together but is not very likely at this point so...Also, Zeke gets the hang of Conduits Technology! ---- Now lets talk about Karma and stuff!... The 2 Main Karmic Paths... Good : Join Celia's Army Evil : Join the First Sons But, there are alterations of many karmic choices and more specifically, MORE endings! In general, the way the story is highly affected is as if a certain group of characters die...From all to none. It's your choice...But the old karma system is back! So don't worry about losing one of your best upgrades but there is a level up system so theres that! Also you get bonus upgrades for being all the way evil or all the way good. So now you don't have to worry about losing your good or evil karma upgrades! Also, based on wether the choices you make it may depend on how the characters feel or think about you. But there are choices in the game in which one conduit likes but the other doesn't and, if you choose one that the conduit had but the other conduit didn't have...They may have to fight you...And after the fight, you have a Karmic Choice! Good : Spare Them Evil : Kill Them So yeah...I'd rather spare them than kill them...But that also means the plot could go in many other directions as well as affecting the gameplay and even the story itself. ---- Wohoo! Lets move on to Gameplay! Layers. From top to bottom, there are specifically 5 layers. 1 = REALLY tall skyscrapers 2 = Tall Buildings/Rooftops 3 = Street Level 4 = Below New Empire/ Destroyed Old Empire 5 = Sewers of the Old Empire City So just like Infamous there will Side Missions plus Cops, Criminals, Enemys, and so much more! And as a side note, you'll be able to take back territory for the faction and if you take it all/have it all taken then your faction leader will reward you with. There. Power! Plus even as a Side Mission you'll be able to take back some territory. But there's a down side...It's either Celia's Paper Power or Dr. Adam's Atomic Power. So uh, choose up! Side Missions like the ones in Infamous and Infamous 2, are coming back! Ones that you help others and ones that Fetch help with and Eugene...Side Missions like that, YOU GET THE POINT! Also Audio Logs, Stecip Art, and other things are coming back too! Collectibles like shards and audio logs and stuff like that will be coming back as well! But, something new has been added! Video Logs! And no there not like video. There logs but Delsin can use his Video power to go into them! You basically, get to play through what has happened in the recordings in the past. Jackets! More jacket designs and they come back! More Story Time! Apparently, First Son's have a giant base under the sewer tunnels and has new rebuilt labs plus it even has Kessler's old labs. Delsin goes into the one of the labs and finds out that Cole is alive and to find out that Cole is a puppet master and is controlling Dr. Adam and Celia to get what he wants. After seeing Cole ALIVE, Delsin then takes Coles Powers so now delsin has the power of Electricity! But, he starts to see Cole's flashbacks and how he is alive in that world! Let me explain this in a Timeline! - The Cole in the good ending in Infamous 2 is dead but this is a different Cole! So leat me explain...VERY SIMPLY! - The First Sons are created - In the late 1800s, Richard becomes the leader of the First Sons - Years later, Alden becomes the leader - Eventually, Cole gets his powers because Alden was experimenting on Cole to help build the Ray's Sphere -Soon, Cole marrys Trish and have kids and when the kids are 2-3 years old...ish...The Ray's Sphere is completed - A conduit known as the Beast is activated - The Beast starts destroying humanity and cole and his family run -Eventually, Cole's family is killed by the Beast and a new power from Cole activates...Time Travel! - So Cole goes back in time to when before Alden was the leader of the First Sons and Changes his name to Kessler - So everything before his powers activated has not happend - So Kessler kills Richard and kicks out Alden so he accelerates the development of the Ray's Sphere - So he uses it to give his former self powers so then COLE gets his powers - Infamous starts... - Comics happen... - Infamous 2 happens... - After the events of Infamous 2, Cole joins John meaning Cole turns into the Beast - Cole sets out to activate all conduits and is leading to conduits ruling the world - Eventually, Cole comes across...Delsin Rowe! - Delsin takes Cole's power - Delsin is now a Beast which means that Both Cole and Delsin are now invincible - Karmic Choices of fighting to save humanity or leading the First Sons - After Delsin took his powers Cole's Time Travel power activates so that means Delsin doesn't have the Time Travel power and goes back between when the Comics happen and Infamous 2 events - Everything AFTER the comic events never happened - SO THEN, Evil Cole starts to pull the strings and makes his former self make the good choices and activates the RFI - Eventually, all conduits are activated and get their powers - The D.U.P is set up and First Light happens - And then Second Son happens... - And now...Second Age... - Begins So now Cole has to defeat Delsin in order to properly rule the world and all the conduits in it!
