Got a question tho, when redesigning her outfit, did you have a clear vision in mind or did it just happen while you drew it? Also! Got any hcs for your version of Carrol? I'd love to read them, it can be angsty or whatever... Just hcs that you think about a lot lol

for redesigning her, i wanted to lean more towards the fairy tale and romance novel aspects of her backstory. carol wants a knight in shinning armor to save her because it's what she's supposed to want, but more than that she's jealous of hal's ability to be the knight in shining armor and have grand adventures. she's also very aligned with the classic bodice ripper romance novels, her character in the 60s is pretty dead set on living her romance novel fantasy. i wanted her design to reflect both sides of her backstory, so i gave her the princely vest + flowy shirt combo and a sword so she could be her own romance novel knight in shining armor 😌👍plus the whole romance novel aspect lends itself nicely to the star sapphires in general! i gave her the shorts bc i think it makes her design look a little more dated and it fits my hal design better that way teehee. i kept the star sapphire itself as a crown bc. i dont. really like the mask on her. plus, it makes her look princely.

as for the other parts of her design, my carol is trad goth! i tried to give her the classic siouxsie makeup, and big hair bc she deserves it. i like to think that carol used to sneak out and go to garage shows and alt concerts held in shitty little venues in highschool, and when goth music started coming out when she was in college, she was alll over it. i think that she also likes to wear yellow when she's pissed at hal specifically and she knows she's going to see him that day. i think that her and hal are platonic soulmates. i really dont like the predator retcon, my version of carol is simply transmasc. she/him lesbian.

Oh the Witch AU has a plot, but I'm gonna be honest I never really figured out to integrate everything together lmao

The basic gist is that Fanny is (again) the protag. She's one of the most powerful witches there is in this universe, though she only was able to obtain this power via making a deal (it's NOT the Devil though that did cross my mind to add him). In exchange for this power she lost vision in one of her eyes, a flower sprouting from the socket, though she keeps that part hidden with bang of hair.

In universe she's known as the Iris Queen, in reference to purple irises sprouting wherever she has left devastation in her wake. Nobody has ever been able to kill her, and nobody is actually certain if she's really a mortal or not. I'm here to say she technically is but isn't. I mean you could kill her, but it'd be a complicated process. Especially when taking her familiar into account.

With the power granted to her, came a gift of sorts though Fanny cannot begin to fathom why the beast she made a deal with would do such a thing. The familiar is a massive snake, looks like a tree viper to be specific. It can camouflage itself and shrink to a normal size if it chooses to. What's odd is, well, everything about it. Can't put her finger on it but there's something wrong about it.

And she's right! Because that snake belongs to someone else! :D

Okay so originally, I never had an actual main antagonist for this AU. Maybe the cult but that was it really. Until like, a couple of months ago when I was struck with inspo via doomed yuri. There was no correlation between those two things btw it just happened that way lmao.

I haven't come up with a name or design for this antagonist yet but they are worshipped by a cult and are some kind of eldritch being of sorts with the ability to shift through memories, space, and time. They particularly love people with trauma though. And Fanny has a lot of it. Which makes her a prime target. Of course, it's not the only reason she's a prime target.

Remember the snake? Yeah that's theirs. As is the power granted to Fanny. You can imagine that would piss it off quite a lot. The cult understands this and a few years ago before the start of the story (in my head) Fanny was successfully captured by this cult. But she was able to escape though with the cuffs of the chains still on her.

She did come face to face with the villain though while escaping and had her ass handed to her quite thoroughly. Good news is she still got away.

Okay so where the story started to go to shit was that I needed Fanny to interact with the cult again, but more importantly, I needed her to interact with the other characters as well.

Because Cuphead, Holly, Boris & Bendy (Bendy is a familiar in this), and Alice were supposed to be the main ones accompanying her on her journey. Specifically I wanted her to meet them because she's trying to get these chains off which she hasn't been able to do for years. Her familiar is the only reason she's still alive alongside everything else I've mentioned. But the problem with the chains still on her is that using any amount of magic energy causes magic erosion (when the soul & body cannot contain magic anymore so it enters the physical body and starts to basically devour/decay it) so she can't use her powers as much as she'd like to.

(Also should say magic erosion looks like cracks forming on the body or single body part. At its worst stage the whole body or body part crystallizes and shatters. And yes the whole process is painful, incredibly so. Magic erosion can also lead to magic poisoning in some cases which is completely different and it's more like a disease or infection slowly spreading over the body. Sometimes you can get both!)

And where I have since left off with this plot is Fanny was recommended by pure happenchance of encountering another witch, a sea witch, who claims that a certain witch farther south could help her with her problem because they'd done something similar with her.

That witch is called by many names: the Blood Witch, Witch of Sin, the Scarlet Witch, etc.

It's Cuphead. It's just Cuphead.

And that's where the plot left off last I checked.

this was written thanks to a prompt from @inexplicablymine for @thebrownstone anniversary exchange and ive never had so much fun writing something ever. it was in the middle of a writers block and i spent SO long thinking about it (mainly bc i cant stand the movie or a certain actress on it) before i remembered my aforementioned hyperfixations on both the bright sessions and the flash (at some point i hope somebody makes a tbs x rwrb fic before i end up caving in and do it myself, even though it would be very similar to this fic, now that i think about it).

(break where i give little information about this bc the research was long and incredibly fun)

after all of that, it was so long that i spent on a google rabbit hole of researching superpowers and thinking how would it fit each person (i KNEW before anything else that i was going to give bea music powers, and after that the rest followed) so it is funny how all of their powers correlate between family and stuff and i need everyone to know about this bc i really spent so long thinking of it.

you have the mountchristen line, that has the "mind powers", starting with mary (psyren) that has the powers to manipulate minds, but it is more like suggestions, so that's why alex and bea could shrug it off and how henry would be able to after fighting his usual response of like going along whatever mary said; then you have catherine (vis) that has telekinesis, aka manipulation of objects through her mind (dont ask me about the name this one was very much just thrown out there when i looked it up suggestions on google). thats where arthur (foxglove) comes in with his ecokinesis (this is more like controlling plants but not really with his mind but like hes in TUNE with the planet and nature ala poison ivy kinda thing(?) (also yes ofc i found out there is a PLANT called FOX-GLOVE and gave it as a name for arthur. that is something he 100% would do and i dont receive criticism for it) and starts the fox-mountchristen line with philip (no i didnt think of his superhero name bc even though he is a bit redeemed here, he doesnt deserve it) and his MANIPULATION OF THE LIGHT WITH HIS MIND. and yes its cool and all, but i just want to emphasize that i wanted them to be able to MANIPULATE PARTS OF NATURE WITH THEIR MINDS BC ITS A MIX OF BOTH CATH AND ARTHUR (sjfnakdjfkahdmfhansbfmahdm im sorry i thought of it while still blocked and thought it was absolutely genius 💀💀). then there comes beautiful gorgeous bea who doesnt have a pseudonym bc she's actually part of the agency trying to control that superheroes dont do crazy stuff (yes bc of mary) and shes a badass agent and also has a band on the side bc she CAN MANIPULATE SOUND AHFNSJHSSJDJABHSNSHAJS. and lastly theres henry with his empathy and this is something not implied but more like a nod to tbs bc henry's actual powers are the manipulation of emotions which MEANS HENRY IS BASICALLY INCREDIBLY FUCKING POWERFUL but since he really doesnt like all that superhero shit, he doesnt care about it. at some point in time, he might discover hes even able to push emotions into other people, but again, since that was a nod to tbs, thats just something for them to discover in the future and thats it.

on the other hand, you have the claremont-díaz line that is messy as fuck, because in this universe, ellen enlisted in the army like her father and she ended up becoming a super soldier, along the lines of captain america, and was called "lometa longshot" bc yes ofc i had to. so you see how she doesnt have actual powers but instead she just has everything ENHANCED????; then you have oscar, who has the ability to fly, (which, fun fact, was actually the last power i thought of bc the idea of it is that oscar had some power of MOVEMENT), and bc you have impossible movement and enhancement, you get beautiful june with her powers of teletransportation that allow her to be a badass reporter and always get exclusives bc of how fast she can get somewhere; and you get alex with his undiagnosed adhd and the fire under his ass for no good reason and then there was absolutely no other choice but to give him super speed (and has nothing to do with the fact that he, like barry allen, is a very intelligent but very chaotic bisexual with undiagnosed adhd).

nora is there vibing, being a tecnopath and having actual numbers on her brain while also planning to conquer the world and also become kind of an iron-woman(? in that she makes gadgets for superheroes and for herself. pez is also vibing and being so cool they even have two powers, being able to shapeshift AND mimic the powers of ppl near them. hes the actual threat in that if they wanted, they could absolutely conquer the world.

ANOTHER FUN FACT: this is fairly obvious but in the us the school is called sky high and in uk the school is called wonder school bc i couldnt think of anything else and my reference for names of schools in the uk is that wizardry school from that horrible book so like,,,,, yeah.

LAST FUN FACT I SWEAR: theres a list of classes and their kind of equivalents that showed up after i decided alex would absolutely never stand this hero/sidekick bullshit shsksjsksjsksjsksjsksjs it was fun even though im yet to grasp the concept of american education(????? (listen im dumb so like if you were expecting too much from me, thats on you)

i'll be honest dude i was just saying shit. like i said it's ultimately just because i don't fucking trust conservative lawmakers lol. a lot of what i was saying in the first part was just throwing thoughts at the wall 2 see what sticks, and they do all come from somewhere but they're not all thought through 2 a conclusion. here i'll give them a LITTLE more thought but i'll try not 2 get carried away im like so tired rn

i think w transmen its complicated. like as females they obviously are entitled to female-only resources. turning a transman away from a female-only rape or abuse crisis centre would b evil like they are female and they do experience misogyny and that service is for them. but at the same time, if a passing transman went into a womens bathroom or locker room or whatever then naturally women could b intimidated by that. they don't know he's a transman, he's just some dude to them. and also if we were to insist that everyone use the facilities that go w their assigned sex at all times, then surely that opens the door for any random dude to say he's a transman and go into the womens room the same way opening everything up to self-id opens the door for any random dude to say he's a transwoman and go into the womens room. as far as the bathroom/locker room thing, 3rd unisex option or converting everything to unisex single-stall, blah blah i've said it plenty before. as far as other services go, i think a lot of it would have 2 be on a case-by-case basis with compassion & realism & probably with consulting other service users. i don't think a blanket rule is the best solution.

& when using passing butches as an example i was thinking about instances where women in public bathrooms have confronted butch women thinking they're men encroaching on a female space. and thinking, what's the solution supposed 2 be for them to prove themselves female there? show ID? only like i said, ID no longer always correlates with birth sex bc ppl can change legal sex now, so knowing that kind of makes it so that ID could never be a legal means of proving sex if any conflict arose from that. i think realistically thats probably not likely 2 happen much bc usually once someone says "im literally a woman" and the other person takes a proper look theyre more like "oh my god yeah my mistake" but i HAVE seen video of women getting kicked out of public womens rooms by security staff who mistook them for dudes and were actively still insisting they were dudes even when being told that they're wrong. i wasnt suggesting butch women use the mens room instead, i was just pointing out that i think things could get complicated nd to enshrine certain things in law as based on birth sex, while having no legal way that birth sex is actually even documented because legal sex =/= actual sex anymore, seems like smthn that could get messy. for the record this is why i think they should not let people change legal sex, but then theres a whole host of other issues (which im sure cons would not take into account were they 2 pass a law on this either) that would have 2 be considered bc i do see how walking around with an ID that documents your sex as completely incongruous w ur appearance can put a target on someone in a lot of situations.

my introspection never ends. my entire night has been devoted to analyzing this because it had such an emotional impact. and ya know people always think im fucking crazy thinking the universe is at play here because some weird shit happened. rewind a year before meeting, something very odd happened. and this experience felt significant even tho it was random. and it was always in the back of my mind. and then a year later i meet him and there are several weird coincidences about him and this. and i kinda always wondered if this was such an important meeting that i had a years notice beforehand so i would remember and connect. and i always took it lightly because my intuition and superstition get mixed sometimes. and i was never sure until my coworker brought it up. my coworker was at that event for maybe 15 minutes and left. and we are buddies now so i told him about this dude like casually and i dont know why. theres really no logical reason for that event to even be a memory to my coworker as at that point it was close to 2 years ago and it was so obscure and he didn’t witness the event unfold. but the first time i brought him up he asked me if it was related to that event. i was creeped the fuck out. because i know why i think this why are you thinking these 2 things are correlated? and thats when i was certain this was important in some way that the universe did supply me with a warning that something would happen so far in advance. there has already been a lesson but i feel like there’s something else i need to take away from this. and now im leaving the hysterical sobbing phase i need to unwind this and figure out what information i need here to heal and grow. because i was meant to be here all suffering aside with my emotions 100% i can be in anguish and wish on an emotional scale for the pain to go away even if that meant never meeting but on a logical scale its like i know there’s something to take away here. and in my heart of hearts i know love is never a mistake even when its painful. so i keep analyzing. i want to use my pain to be a better person and do what im suppose to do. which will be a pain because i need to go through my vent archives and look for patterns in my thoughts, read the entries in my diary, and in a good mental space i need to tackle those dms and process all these feelings and learn from it. im not out here trying to test the universe wlsjqhd i would like to learn my lessons and receive my blessings please i prommy i am better than i was in 2020 the work has been done god damn it this all comes from being ruled by saturn the universe constantly slapping in the face with more work to be done and lessons to learn FUCK

High school teacher but these are how I detect AI writing/ prevent it: One: Make a prompt that requires in class knowledge. Something along the lines of: "Explain how authors demonstrate character development using three examples from the short stories we read in class this week." Now- could the kids just look up what those stories were and edit the prompt? Yes. But it still weeds out a few. Two: Just like on a math test I make the kids show me their work. I break my essays up into paragraphs (I teach ninth grade so many of my students are learning how paragraphs are structured anyways so its good practice) I try not to teach cookie cutter five paragraph essays, but we will discuss in general and start off by writing our intro paragraphs together and even that process often gets broken down sentence by sentence. I wont grade essays until I see and grade the paragraph assignments, and its a big tip off to me that they had AI write the final essay if I cant find any correlation of their ideas from their brainistorming/chunked assignments to their final essays. Again, kids could get around this, but by this point ive weeded out most AI. What's more common is kids just copynig and pasting from these assignments onto their final essays and ignoring the editing phase lol. Three: Trojan horses. Hide a trojan horse in the prompt, search for it in the essay, pretty big give away. Just make sure the trojan horse is something not likely to show up organically in an essay. I usually use words like "banana" or unrelated nouns. This is the most common way I catch AI essays tbh. Four: Integrate AI into the lesson. One thing me and my kids did was use AI to write topic sentences, then we would rank, compare them to topic sentences from articles weve read and so on. For grammar once I had kids correct AI body paragraphs they generated and grade the AI on its use of syntax. It demystifies them, shows that often even if they do use AI and I dont catch it they probably arent going to be getting a great grade since more often then not we find these AI generated pieces to be mid at best. Five: Draftback. It's a google docs extension that lets me view a document being written in real time. Honestly this is the most full proof way, and its funny to watch kids make the typos then go back and erase them. I also catch a lot of plagiarism this way since I can see kids copying and pasting sentences then editing them to try and hide it. Six: I'll be honest, AI writing tends to just be kind of obvious. Most kids that I've caught with AI didn't even bother to change the font size/style so that tends to be a give away. And AI likes to write a lot of nonsense that means nothing and gets very repetitive. Sure a kid could hide this by reading the paper it produced and making corrections before sending it through the AI again, but at that point they are being critical enough of writing that I don't really care and most AI cheaters are frankly not that motivated. Seven: Just talk to the damn kid about their essay. If they can explain their thoughts, ideas, quotes, and so on then yeah they probably wrote it themselves. If a kid can get through al that and STILL I don't catch it, fuck it you get the grade you get. Congrats you made cheating harder than just writing the actual essay itself I hope you enjoyed it. So yes, teachers CAN catch AI, but using AI detectors isn't the way to go. And a good teacher uses these more comprehensive methods not just to catch AI, but it also safeguards kids from being falsely accused. For example I have english language learners that often use googel translate for help, or will copy and paste things that might trigger things like Draftback for example, but then if I can go back and be like "Oh I see they did the worksheets, hmm theres no trojan horses in here, and if I look at their brainstorming I can see their ideas developing from there to this final essay" then it also protects the student from being falsely accused and facing consequence's they dont deserve. Finally, for us teachers, it's important to accept we wont catch them all. You can lead a horse to water but they dont have to drink. We can give all the kids the tools to learn but if they still refuse then that's their choice. It is our duty to try, it is our duty to provide them all the accommodations and opportunities we can, but you cant control every factor of your classroom. And up until recently we actually had virtually no way to know if a kid was just cheating or copying. As my mother used to say: "Back in the 70s if I had an essay about Abe Lincoln I'd just go to the library, find a biography, and copy whole paragraphs. How as the teacher ever going to know they couldn't check against every book in the library." The era of us being 1000% a student wrote their work was an anomaly not the norm. Do I go through these factors every time? No. Usually you can get a pretty good idea when its time to start digging (like for example a kid who refused to do all the pre work for an essay suddenly turns in a ten page paper using the word acquiescence correctly in a sentence. Or if when I'm looking at an essay and draftback says that during the writing process the keyboard only was used for 170 keystrokes on a 1000 word essay. It's important we look for AI cheating in our students work, because AI writing (while its means are unethical thanks to scraping from works with out authors permission) is a tool. It's not going away anytime soon, and if were going to accuse kids of using it we need to have robust methods of detecting it that are HUMAN. Simply using an AI tool (which is what AI checkers are) to detect AI writing is hyprocasy. The most accurate AI checker is old fashioned human investigation.

I hate so much that professors who still can't figure out how to send messages on Zoom think they're capable of spotting AI writing. Professors are just feeding essays into AI detectors with massive fail rates with absolutely zero critical thought about the tools they're using. I moved across state lines. I've spent years of my life trying to get this degree. But at any moment I could be expelled because I got a false positive from a detector that tells you ChatGPT wrote Anna Karenina.

I just reblogged an example of butch protectiveness. What makes it different from toxic protectiveness. What makes queer chivalry feel comforting and and cishet etc chivalry feel sexist and condescending. You see the pattern Im talking about?

Gender and sexuality arent actually the defining factors here. We use them as shorthand. Cishet etc people are capable of healthy dynamics and queer folks are capable of toxic dynamics.

Im not saying there isnt a correlation, queerness often breaks down cis etc. ideas and ideals and reforms them in healthier ways.

The difference is respect of autonomy and agency.

Why does it sometimes feel gross to women when a guy is protective but good when a butch is protective? The first has sexist history and implications. That because youre a woman you must be weaker, more fragile, incompetent, and the implications make one angry. With a butch, thats not there. They just see you as YOU, protect you because they care about you as an individual.

Difference between someone giving their kid sex ed including consent including what to do if youre uncomfortable, its cold out do you want a jacket, and you better be back by midnight i have a gun take your pepper spray wear this huge jacket. The difference isnt gender or sexuality or lifestyle, the difference is do you assume your kid is competent and equip them to make good safe choices, or do you try lock them away threaten their dates makes them dress covered up because theyre your fragile sweet helpless girl and you think threats or isolation and control is all that will keep them safe.

Men, cishets,[ insert population to hate on here] might be culturally programmed to behave a certain way, may benefit themselves behaving a certain way (eg upholding the patriarchy which is something people of any age and gender can do), but crucially, its not inherent theyre not stuck that way. People can learn and unlearn and grow.

On the other hand, someones queer identity doesnt inherently make them safe. Theres so much lateral violence just on this app. Thats also people buying into normalcy in an attempt for protection, becoming cops for normalcy. And its not the fault of aces or bis or trans fems or trans mascs or whoever the target is this month, every group has people trying to sell out to Big Normal in exchange for being allowed to live and maybe even thrive. Cultural power is real.

Thats my point. Certain groups of people are more likely to have rethought and relearned attitudes we ALL absorbed and are exposed to every day about who we're supposed to shame and which boxes we're supposed to fit and how badly we should hurt ourselves and each other to "get ahead".

Nothing is inherent to anyone of any identity. [X identity group*] are not a lost cause of awful people. We kind of all start out as awful people. We're all capable of growth. There is hope. Its so much work, but if hope isnt worth working for than what is?

*bi group I mean I gender or sexuality or disability (im looking at yall casually demonizing people with narcissism and schizophrenia and many other experiences). Something inherent to a person doesnt say anything about their morality or their choices.

Eg incels are pretty awful people by definition BUT its possible to become not-an-incel, to change ones mind, to leave a cult or a movement. Might be extraordinarily difficult but its possible. To be on that incel path and willingly going further down it, thats a kind of moral choice.

The three main inspos for Chris include Ned the Pie Maker, Issa Rae and Hellboy.

The most obvious Ned parallels are his being a baker with a supernatural ability. But also in his sort of journey to making connections. Whereas Ned is scared to get close beceuse his touch could kill, Chris's fear is born from loss. Also I always loved how Ned was such a large presence but he moved so carefully to not take up space and that's why I made Chris a bigger guy who shrinks himself.

Issa Rae's silliness and relatable story of a young Black creative/professional plays a part in Chris's dialogue. Silly but realistic. Plus both are awkward af while still learning to be social. Issa's talking and rapping in the mirror inspires Chris's freestyles and pep talks he gives himself.

Hellboy's 'seen it all' attitude towards the supernatural has inspired Chris's sometimes chill nature towards the supernatural. I really like how Mignola writes how self aware Hellboy is. ok at first i kinda skipped over geometry but you know what. thats a little unfair. euclidean geometry is generally very boring but higher dimensional geometry? hyperbolic or circular geometry???? where would we be as a society without klein bottles and mobius strips and hyper cubes and hyperbolic crochet. anyway if youre reading this you need to play hyperbolica its a simple puzzle game a la portal but instead of thinking with portals you have to think in hyperbolic space. where space has more. space. everything looks a little distorted and it totally fucks your spatial awareness its so fun. even something as simple as a maze becomes difficult because when you turn left 4 times you DONT end up where you started and it just doesnt compute in your brain. also the npcs are little robot guys and its so cute and charming. 10/10 excellent game. anyway yeah im not voting for geometry because a lot of it is boring but it does have its moments!

i went to university for statistics (well. technically actuarial science but its pretty much the same thing) so im a bit biased towards it. but its definitely the most useful kind of math for the average person to understand (aside from basic algebra) but its also like. really wild that it works?? that you can collect a big chunk of data and then determine correlations between variables with a high degree of accuracy. its basically the antithesis of what people think of math (rules and hard logic and one correct answer) but its still so rigorous and useful and so so important to understand

but more than statistics i am a huge fan of matrix theory. i really love matrix operations theyre SO SATISFYING and just really fun to do. especially when you apply them to linear algebra and solve a really messy system of equations that cant even be conceptualized on a graph.... augh its great. and its also one of the few kinds of math that i learned with a bunch of different number systems pretty much right away (bc its related to cryptography so using binary or mod 5 or whatever is actually useful) and that was really refreshing!! i love using different number systems. im not sure why its grouped together with set theory but i do also like set theory, its really fundamental like algebra (although its not nearly as well taught as algebra) and a lot of the operations are really unique so it kinda opens up what math is when you start learning about it. and of course there are a lot of number sets that i really like but that doesnt really have to do with set theory itself lmao

ANYWAY i think im gonna vote matrix theory. theres a few really interesting ones that arent listed here like game theory (ever heard of the prisoners dilemma?), topology (did you know that a mug is the same as a donut? also a straw definitively has one hole), and graph theory (i dont know that much about graph theory tbh i just think it looks really cool), but i really love matrices. i mean come on like

My thoughts on the sexuality of some of my favorite X-files characters.

I posted this in my X-files amino back in June as part of a LGBTQ pride challenge and for some reason I only just thought to post it here as well.

Fox Mulder: openly bisexual

Mulder is so open sexually that I really don't think gender matters all that much to him. He does seem to prefer females but I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if he had a boyfriend or two in the past. I don't think he's flamboyant about his sexuality but I don't think he'd hide it at all either

My evidence:

In the season one episode "Ghost in the Machine" we meet an Mulder's ex-partner, Jerry, and I absolutely feel like there is an ex-lovers vibe to the both of them. They hug upon first seeing each other, Mulder looks incredibly happy to see him, when Mulder says they worked together Jerry corrects him to say they were partners at which point Mulder looks over at Scully as if to see her reaction. Mulder has this real guilty look to him. When Jerry acts a little self conscious Mulder is real quick to jump in and reassure him. They get in each other's personal space. It just really leaves me with the impression that they care deeply for one another and broke up for other reasons, perhaps the different career goals as Mulder tells Scully.

We also have Mulder with Krycek. From the very beginning of Krycek's involvement with the X-files I feel like the writers went out of their way to make a correlation between the change in partnership and a new partner in a relationship. There is a scene in Sleepless where Mulder and Scully are on the phone and Mulder tells Krycek he'll be right there, the rest of the conversation feels reminiscent of two exes chatting about the change brought about by the new relationship. Scully even brings up that it must be nice having a partner who doesn't question his every theory.

There were many scenes in Sleepless, Duane Barry, and Ascension in which Mulder and Krycek were alone but that we never got to see who knows for example what the two of them got to talking about while they were stuck in traffic during the drive to New York in Sleepless. Or how often they hung out between Sleepless and Duane Barry.

During Mulder and Scully's partnership Mulder only called her 'Dana' on a few emotional occasions. He started casually calling Krycek 'Alex' almost immediately.

Let us not forget the infamous speedo scene. While yes it definitely showed more of a Krycek attraction to Mulder than the opposite. It does make one wonder what led him to wear such a revealing bathing suit. How many straight men do you know who wear speedos? My guess is few. How many straight men wear speedos when they can reasonably assume their male partner will show up looking for them? Not many would be guess.

And then there is their relationship after Krycek is revealed to be a traitor. They both tend to act more like scorned lovers than enemies and notice that it's Mulder, not Krycek, who cannot seem to keep his hands off the other. Seriously it's like every time Krycek shows up, Mulder immediately grabs him.

Now here's a couple quotes from Mulder,

Krycek tells Mulder he most be losing it because Krycek beat him with one hand. Mulder's immediate reaction: "isn't that how you like to beat yourself?"

When the little man in Humbug is lined up pretty much exactly with Mulder's crotch he says that Mulder would be surprised how many women find his size alluring. Mulder's immediate reaction: "you'd be surprised how many men do as well"

How many straight guys do you know comfortable enough with their sexuality to make a gay innuendo? I personally cannot think of any.

Dana Scully: bicurious

I believe that Scully is sometimes attracted to women. It definitely is not as blatant as with Mulder and I really don't think she's had any past girlfriends but I definitely think that there is an attraction.

My evidence:

In the episode "Ice" I really felt like there are a few tender moments between her and Felicity Huffman's character especially while they were examining one another for the worms. That examination had a sort of sexual energy to it I thought.

In the episode "kill switch" theres a moment where the Invisagoth asked if she could have her handcuffs removed or if she should type with her tongue. Mulder mentions that she doesn't want a vote there and the look on Scully's face and the way she licks her lips, I definitely get the impression that she would have been perfectly happy to see what Invisagoth could get up to with that tongue.

Some people point to Scully's relationship with Reyes as evidence of her bisexuality, I personally don't see any attraction there on Scully's side but I don't think its outside the realm of possibility.

Monica Reyes: Closeted lesbian

This one's probably a surprise I know there was something between here and Brad as well as a flirtation with Doggett so you would probably think she was Bisexual but honestly was either one of those even remotely convincing? To me they weren't. I believe that Reyes is a lesbian.

I kind of go back and forth on whether she's open about it. Reyes is very spiritual and open so it seems strange that she would be in the closet but maybe she has a reason, fear of it affecting her career in the FBI perhaps? It just seems strange that she keeps pursuing these heterosexual relationships she has no passion for unless she is trying to hide her true passion.

My evidence:

I admit I really have very little evidence but look at the relationship between Reyes and Brad Follmer. It had all the chemistry of two people who got really drunk once and cannot remember sleeping together. I don't for a second believe she was ever in love with Brad nor he in love with her.

Then you've got the same thing between her and Doggett. Yes the writers were obviously trying for a romantic angle with the two of them but to me it never came across as convincing. It seemed more like she thought of him as a good friend and figured she might as well date him, I saw no evidence of love or attraction.

On the other hand look at her and Scully. While I feel like the attraction there was one sided I definitely feel like Reyes was into Scully or Dana as she would call her. Reyes was willing to risk her life for Scully and yes that is her job after all but Reyes seems to take that above and beyond and it's not just Scully herself but also William. Look at how protective Reyes is of William in The Truth and of the sacrifice Scully made in giving him up. She seems to care even more than Mulder on that.

Cigarette-Smoking-Man: Asexual

CSM has probably had sex at some point, he is of course the father of at least three children but I do not think that he was ever in love with any of these women or even attracted to them. I believe they were all just a means to an end.

I believe that CSM's only love was for his cigarettes

Evidence:

There is a little bit of evidence that he might have actually felt something for Teena Mulder but I don't buy it. He freely admits that he felt nothing for Cassandra Spender but he must've been convincing if he got her to marry him and we have seen him fake emotions more than once. He also seemed to show an attraction to Scully in En Ami but that too was just a means to an end. Perhaps he does feel something towards all the women he has impregnated but I wouldn't call it love. I don't see any real attraction there either. My bet is that CSM needed some "help" in order to produce his offspring.

Alex Krycek: Gay

While Krycek did have an obviously sexual relationship with Marita Covarrubias he definitely didn't have any real feelings for her and I don't buy attraction either. No I'd say they were both just trying to use sex to get what they wanted. His anger at finding the Russian boy gone wasn't because he was heartbroken at her betrayal. Merely mad that she'd managed to get the upper hand.

Whether Krycek is open or in the closet I'm not sure, I'm thinking it probably depends on the mission hes on at the time.

Evidence:

Of everyone on this list I'd say Krycek is the one I'm the most sure of. There is no doubt in my mind that Krycek was attracted to, perhaps even in love with, Fox Mulder. From the very beginning there appeared to be a bit of longing in his eyes.

There was the speedo scene wherein Krycek was definitely checking Mulder out. There were several scenes where Krycek could've killed Mulder but chose to help him instead.

As I've seen pointed out before, Krycek's crazy motivational choices don't make any sense at all unless it's all in an effort to be around Mulder more.

Look at his sense of style and his obvious love for lip gloss. I am not saying that straight men cannot love lip gloss and dress themselves in Krycek's fashion but it is uncommon and it was especially so back in the 90s

The infamous kiss in The Red and the Black could certainly be explained away as some kind of Russian custom but it isn't one that I am aware of and he hasn't really shown any other signs of his Russia heritage.

I would say my best evidence of Krycek's sexuality is in Essence and Existence, just look at the look on Krycek's face when Mulder trusts him to protect Scully. Krycek knows what Scully means to Mulder and then look at how seriously Krycek takes the job! I definitely feel like that moment meant a lot to him and he would have protected Scully with his life for Mulder.

There's also the fact that Krycek's unwillingness to kill Mulder lead to his own death.

Of course asking Skinner to shoot Mulder goes against this theory but I do have a couple thoughts on that, the most sensical being that he knew there was no chance Skinner would shoot Mulder and he probably knew there was no chance he would survive anymore. Maybe he made that request in hopes of sparing Mulder any pain he might have otherwise felt at his death (I know it's a bit of a stretch but my other theories require a long explanation of my thoughts on where the series had planned to go next)

The lone gunmen: no one knows....not even them

Three (I don't count Jimmy for this) single adult men who all live together in very cramped quarters and are, at least in Langley's case, perfectly happy to be around each other without thier clothes on certainly makes it seem like there's something between them all but I really don't get a overtly gay impression with any of them, even Langley who as mentioned doesn't like to wear pants and is the only one who hasn't had a love interest. They just have this sort of Vegas-esque thing. "What happens in the bachelor pad/newspaper room stays in the bachelor pad/newspaper room.

I would love to hear other people's thoughts on these and any other X-files characters you think might be somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum.

i feel like i havent properly updated in a while so here we go :))))

so lately, ive really been practicing knowing how i cannot mess this up. also sitting with my fears and doubts as they arise and choosing a new story. im practicing full surrender and acceptance of the 3d. and knowing how i must change myself and leave the outer world alone. practicing self validation, over the subtle need for 3d validation. i want to say this podcast episode has really been so helpful for me in navigating this.

about a week ago i felt such deep confidence and knowing within myself. like i felt confident in who i really am, and i just KNEW my desires want me too. i even started to openly talk about my desires with others, because for the first time ever i felt like it was just a fact. i didnt feel like i was reaching for the moon, i felt like the moon was reaching for me. (any audrey fans reading this ?? hehe) i felt so confident i was able to look my 3d mirrors in the face and say, yep. its mine ! i didnt care if i was looked at crazy or not, because i truly felt so confident and secure. it was the most wonderful experience.

shortly after that though, all hell broke lose. a major purge began. at first, i felt so blind sided. it took a couple days for me to make the correlations. everything that was coming up, was the opposite of that confidence and knowing i felt. in a way, it became almost funny ! like this is literally a purge of the old story. i mean, it didnt take the pain away but it was a small amount of relief to realize, i really just have to persist through this moment. i had my fair share of breakdowns, for sure. i even cried so hard one night, wishing i never learned about the law. i felt so suffocated.

what i kept doing, and keep doing, is deciding i can choose where i want to go in any given moment. yall, this is the most difficult thing i have ever done. im not going to lie to you. i am used to giving myself the space to feel victimized completely, knowing how what im experiencing ultimately means nothing, then persisting when im ready. this is my first time that i am, more often than not, looking these doubts/fears/unwanted circumstances in the face and saying, “i accept you. i know you mean nothing. i know its okay that this is so painful right now. i know my desires are already mine.” this is my first time truly practicing acceptance of the 3d and responsibility, then turning inward, knowing how consciousness is the only true reality. practicing letting go of that want for control over the 3d. not allowing my mind to get caught up in “what am i doing wrong ?” and choosing to know i am doing everything right, and these moments are proof of that. like,, i would be lying if i said it wasnt fucking uncomfortable ? but i will say, ive reached the space where i know how this is the work that must be done. i have nothing to lose. and everything to gain. and i GET that. like i KNOW it. omg ive been going thru it emotionally, the circumstances have been beating my ass fr, and yet i KNOW everything is just getting better for me. its like on a level, i dont even want to wallow in self pity ? like as tough as this is, i know that theres so much beauty and love thats coming out of this rough ass patch. like wow. through all of this, i am choosing faith.

to wrap this up i wanna say that more than anything, i want to live freely. (shout out to i am love for emphasizing how its okay to be human!!!!) i dont want to be a picture perfect person. i want to be me, happy, cry baby, joyful, bratty, romantic, playful, allllll that. and i want to live my dream life being true to me. i dont want to give up the things that make me, me. not saying that i want to be miserable, not at all. but im saying this in the way that i fully acknowledge and am accepting how im here to have a human experience. and i dont want any part of me, sweet or sour, to dictate whether or not my desires are mine. they just are mine. existing is reason enough. im allowed to have it all and be human. so, here i am being honest with you guys about everything. im not scared of my past or the circumstances, because i know they have no power in the face of who i truly am: God of my reality, unconditional + eternal love.

you didn’t correlate anything with life. you simply lived it. whether you were happy or not, didn’t matter to you. as long as you got through your day and managed to get back into bed, you were alright in your mind. but obviously, you shouldn’t live your life that way.

but how could you know that?

ever since childhood, your life has had a routine. wake up and get ready for school, get back and study - and of course repeat up until however long you’re in school for and then change ‘school’ to ‘work’. that’s life isn’t it? the same repeated thing over and over again, the only difference being if you washed your hair that day and the laundry you did.

you didn’t look at life the way a normal teenager should, but what could you do about it? your mind was so set on life being one consistent routine that you couldn’t view it as anything but. you didn’t go out, you didn’t talk to friends and some may say; were depressed.

“hey hyung, i think this chart was filled out wrong,” sunghoons voice was full of confusion, never seeing a blank chart before and he was usually given the shittiest people to deal with whom had barely any information.

“what? we never have any wrong charts, lemme see,” heesung quickly walked over and took the chart out of sunghoons hands, his large wings creating a shade over the both of them.

“ah, you got y/n. good luck hoon, you’re going to need it.” he then walked away after patting the other angels shoulder.

“what- what’s that meant to mean? yah- lEE HEESUNG GET BACK HERE AND EXPL-“ he then ran his hand over his face and sighed loudly, staring back down at the chart.

why on earth would he need luck? sure, he was usually given some weird cases considering how terrible he was at being an angel - being very honest and straight forward didn’t always work out in his favour. but being told “good luck” from heesung? it stressed him out beyond the imaginable.

that’s when park sunghoon realised you were going to be a hard nut to crack.

he watched from your desk, making himself invisible, as you peacefully slept, waiting for your alarm to start blaring and prepare you for your excruciatingly boring and almost painful day to start all over again. sunghoon has been watching you for the past few days and is already bored out of his mind watching you do the same exact thing for a whole week straight.

he’s begged and begged the higher up angels to give him another case, pathetically pleading that there was nothing wrong with you, simply that you were a boring and routine filled person - possibly suffering from OCD.

all he got in return was, “sunghoon, you moron. it would’ve said on their chart that they have OCD, and it’s nowhere mentioned on there,” or the other common one of, “sunghoon, i have no clue how you became an angel but you’re missing the point completely. look at the way they’re living their life and tell me theres nothing wrong.”

sunghoons only two respones to their words were something along the lines of, “but there was nothing on their chart in the first place!” or pure groans of boredom and agony of having to spend even more time with you and your boring days that drilled into his head.

angels had another special gift. other than the wings and living in what humans called heaven, they could also make themselves invisible or visible to the human eye. sunghoon and many angels never or very rarely used this, they tend to keep themselves invisible and make their humans’ lives better by small things that make a person happier, like finding money in a coat pocket or somehow meeting the person they’ve wanted to meet for years. that’s what guardian angels did. small, almost insignificant things that didn’t create any chaos in anyone else’s lives, but made their humans’ better.

sunghoon decided it was finally time to make himself visible and get down and dirty. he had enough of you eating the same exact meal every single day, not eating anything else but a bowl of cereal in the morning, rice and chicken for dinner and a piece of toast with jam on it as a snack before bed. you even had almost the same outfits on everyday. he groaned thinking about how dreadful it must be living your life.

and then it finally clicked.

your life was miserable. living alone at 18, having the same exact routine every single day, not talking to anyone and eating the same thing everyday. if sunghoon was in your position he might have ripped out his wings himself from going insane.

so that’s the reason behind your screaming when you woke up this morning.

after turning off your alarm, you expected to find yourself getting out of bed, lightly stretching and then leaving to go wash up in the bathroom. instead, to your displease, you find a tall, beautiful boy sat against your dresser with his arms crossed across his chest.

“literally what the fuck are you doing in my house?”

“hi, park sunghoon, 19 year old guardian angel. now, please tell me why your chart was empty and why the fuck you live your life like this so i can move onto another human.” your cheeks almost heat up at the sound of his voice and then your brain finally catches up to his words and it’s as if he almost sees the question marks appear above your head.

“i think you belong in a mental institution, please leave my home before i call the police.” sunghoon was genuinely surprised at how stern your voice sounded and he almost complied. but then he sighed loudly and made his wings appear - only to hear you scream again.

“ok this is clearly a dream i need to wake up.”

“y/n, please for the love of god listen to me. this isn’t a dream. every human has a guardian angel assigned to them at least once in their life time. i’m yours up until you get better i guess. for the past few weeks i’ve kept myself hidden and worked like usual, obviously away from your eyes but your chart was empty.” the sternness in his voice surprised you and that’s when you realised it wasn’t halloween or some sick dream and decided to listen to what he had to say.

“we don’t get given empty charts. angels need to know exactly what’s wrong with their human so they know how to control the world to help them. i haven’t been able to do anything to help you other than make you find random notes of money in some of your pockets because i have no clue who you are and why you require my help.” realisation hits you as you remember all the times you kept finding random coins or $5 bills in your coat or jean pockets every single time you went out, for the last few weeks.

he continues to speak and you start listening even more intently, interested why your “chart” was empty.

“but after watching you for some time now, i had to make myself visible to help you and be here with you because i’ve realised your life is misreable. y/n, i have no idea what happened to you but you’re obviously not ok and i’m here to fix that, alright? i’m not the best angel that you could’ve gotten but after seeing your life for the last 2 weeks and how you don’t change absolutely anything in your days, i’ll do my best to make your life how an 18 year old should be living.” he finished off giving you a gentle smile, almost surprised at how much he spoke to a stranger.

he quickly glanced at you and saw your wide eyes, still slightly confused but he also saw something else. a glint of some sort.

it was a small glint of hope.

attractiveness and morality - or how people think with their metaphorical dicks instead of their brains

people are fucking horny over the villain characters in bleach, i mean specifically the male ones because as we know the female villains are nonexistent lol. but it’s not hard to see how attractive the male characters are even though i just refuse to acknowledge men unless i have too.

however, there is an issue with how we perceive the characters based on how attractive they actually are, more along the lines of how people will excuse any offensive behavior based on physical attractiveness

the convicts oops i mean examples

there are a few examples i can name like popular male villains that people lose their shit over.

aizen is the big one, where despite the crimes he has committed, such as emotional manipulation, attempting to wipe out a whole town, murders, and hollowfying his colleagues and getting away with it. yet, he is sympathized, especially over Tousen who tends to be more villainized by the fandom or at least held in a less favorable regard.

Gin is in the same boat, with the emotional manipulation and general emotional harm inflicted on multiple people but is sympathizes because uwu he loves rangiku even though he did cause her harm, simply because he betrayed her and hurt her friends and colleagues.

Ulquiorra is another very notable one, since he also has that whole manipulation thing although not as blatant as aizen. he did kidnap a minor and abuse her (isolating her, threatens her and her friends, and it is used to control her/keep her in captivity).

Grimmjow is another example, and its especially notable because he’s just very very violent. And he never apologizes or feels remorse for it, despite generally terrorizing Ichigo and co.

Nn*itra is especially reprehensible, he is overtly sexist, as most of his violent acts are targeted at women and uh. actively saying he hates women. creepy (implied sexual) behavior towards a minor as well.

Szayel as well, he has no regard for his minions, and then theres whatever he did to nemu what the fuck that was so fucked what the fuck.

notably, these men are also wildly popular among the fandom. they will have the most fanart, most discussion, most fics i guess. 

why do horny fucks sympathize with them

people empathize with people they see as attractive, and i mean conventional attractiveness. note how none of this empathy extends to people who do not fall in the category as attractive (often pale side eyes) hunk/twink. does zommari get that attention? yammy? why are they not held to the same standard as say szayel/gin or grimmjow. yammy is also angry and prone to violence, much like grimmjow.

what sets them apart is that they are not deemed sexually attractive so therefore, their flaws become easier to ignore and they arent sympathized as much. of course, kubo probably did inadvertently create this problem, seeing as theres a discrepancy in creating a complex character. another example of this is the comparison between byakuya and omaeda. of course, they are obviously different characters, byakuya has more development and screentime. however they are similar in that they are wealthy, in high positions of power, and look down on people they deem inferior for a variety of reasons. byakuya, however, is conventionally attractive and also has screentime. that being said there is an underlying issue of fatphobia as well in reducing omaeda to a comic relief character.

people empathize with attractive people or at least favor them. “People more strongly desire to form or maintain bonds with physically attractive partners relative to unattractive partners—an attractiveness-based affiliation effect (Path B). In turn, through projection, attractive partners are perceived to possess attributes that are compatible with these goals, which largely center on their reciprocation of interest in establishing or maintaining close relationships (Path C).”  this is indicated by the halo effect, “the tendency for positive impressions of a person, company, brand or product in one area to positively influence one's opinion or feelings in other areas“ which also applies to beauty and how attractiveness impacts how one recognizes a person. for example, an attractive person will often be associated with positive traits such as compassion, intelligence, and other desirable traits. it could be things like how appearing well groomed heightens others perception of you, how you will appear responsible and capable.

and this does extend to the villains. aizen is viewed as a tragic villain who fights for injustice or something like that. gin is a tragic antihero i think that did everything for his true love tm. ulquiorra is a tragic villain who does not understand love. grimmjow is grimmjow. nn*itra is somehow tragic with an inferiority complex lmao take that fucking L bug boyyy loser. and szayel... exists. see how fanon interprets these characters despite none of them having any remorse for what they have done. the fandom leaps to provide a justification or rational for their actions no matter how abhorrent they are. yammy and zommari are still held as villains, yet they are not sympathized with in the slightest nor are beloved to that extent. compare the sexualization of these men and the amount of sympathy garnered from the fandom. 

why this matters

its no secret that in online spaces especially, offenders are romanticized or at least sympathized. take the true crime community for example, in which case male serial killers were romanticized despite the atrocities they have committed. and this is linked to the “bad boy” trope that is prevalent in romance novels, where a troubled or dangerous man seems like a desirable partner despite stalking their love interest among other crimes. of course, this also gets a bad rep from wattpad ya books and just ya books in general.

there are examples of this trope. i have vaguely alluded to edward from twilight. there is also the cause of that white guy from 50 shades of gray, which is most known for romanticizing abuse but the audience cannot help but be allured by his white guyness or something/ there is the netflix film “you” where a man stalks a women but it is seen as romantic and people find themselves attracted to joe despite his violence. literally this type of behavior:

there’s ted bundy film and how people raved about how hot he was despite him being an absolute monster and having real victims whos family have to live with the fact that people find their family member’s killer hot. it is this in its absolute extreme, where people are fully aware of their crimes but still find sympathy or attraction towards a criminal. in this case it is the gradual romanticization of violence that may creep up. i cannot assuredly claim that there is a strong correlation between finding villains attractive and romanticizing violence but there can be some indication of this.

and this view of how attractiveness can bleed into criminal court. of course, there are other factors such as gender, sexuality, age of judges and the inherent corruption within the legal system. here is a list of studies about this topic because christ i am not copy and pasting all of that go read it yourself.  but the main takeway is that in mock jurors and other public opinion, the more attractive defendants accused of crimes have less severe sentences or even less sentences (however this is not seen as frequently in judges). it shows that there is a level of sympathy, leniency, or more compassion towards attractive people. 

Conclusion

the point being made here is that attractiveness affects how one sees a person. yes, it is possible to find villains attractive, however the bias of physical attractiveness and actual character can potentially be dangerous if left unchecked. this is not exactly a call to action or a psa because a) i am fully aware that this fandom is horny to the point of brainrot and that it is incurable and b) this is just an analysis on behavior in the fandom. and i am aware that the studies are cishet in nature and are not indicative of the fandom as a whole seeing as there are a fair amount of lgbt people in this fandom. that being said, my point still stands.

ok :D background knowledge about the band n the album im gonna b talking about:

miracle musical itself was like... a music project started by one of the tally hall members !! it involves alot of other music artists too !!! they made an album n a single song!! both of those released in 2012 :]

the album is called Hawaii: Part II. there's not a part one and the band has even said theyr not making a part one.!! so that kinda sets the vibe ig. the songs don't have much correlation from first glance, even after taking a closer look they don't tell a story or anything that much !!! the thing the have in common is a mystical, often spooky, feeling (at least 2 me.) most of them have a nautical, sealife theme.

first note!!! both the first and last songs of the album start with the lyrics "alone at the edge of a universe, humming a tune-" which is like!!! continuity my beloved :]] it's also just a good lyric yknow

the first song is called Introduction to the Snow !! kinda a play on words of introduction to the show :]] it doesn't hav many lyrics but it sets the tone for the rest of the album!!! which is like... vaguely mysterious and dealing with the universe n how ppl feel kinda!

ok here's where i mention how the songs like. flow together!!! theres a variety, from the songs merging together with the same rhythms n such or a very sudden change !!!! its rlly cool n i like how there's both :)))

the second song is called Isle Unto Thyself! some of the first bits of this song rlly just ...,,., sets the vibe for the rest of the album!! the lyrics "know what cant be shown, feel what cant be known" is very releant as alot of the songs r abou tfeeling things n knowing things!! even if u cant see them !!! also banger ending transistion to the next song, tehres a buildup that transitions nicely !!!

the third song is Black Rainbows :D this ones one of my favorites!! there r two languages being sung in this one, hawaiian and english. both are singing about rainbows, which represents their love for eachother in the way of the colors and the feelings!! :D

- ok im realizing i forgot to talk about the uhhh album cover!!! it is in mostly greyscale, except for the rainbow text of the band name under the album name!!! it is an ocean with a full mon above, with overlaying images of palm trees, stairs, and a fish/monster with alot of teeth!!!! there is also what appears to be a whale or maybe plane in the backgrounf, sumberged inthe water!! to me it rll y just summarizes the mystery n like. wackyness of the album :DD

ok um back 2 the songs !!!! the forth song is called White Ball!! it tackles dealing with death in like... terms of a dance!! like a ballroom dance, at a ball! the most repeated lyric is "such impossible bliss" which. yeah. death yknow,,,.. it shows the beuaty of whatever the afterlife is. it also makes comparisons to space!!!

the fith song is called Murders! which to me feels like,, runnning away and the fear that causes? or someone gettin lost in a forest!! definetly feels like.. fear. espeacially the lines "tree falling no one would hear, shadow of nobody there" like. dude thats FEAR n yknow what i get it!!! forests can b fucking scary dude.

the sixth song is 宇宙ステーションのレベル7, which roughly translates to Space Station Level 7! this song is mostly japanese n french, neither of which i speak! so uh.,,., yeha!! bu t i do fukcign love the intruments-

oh ym gosh i forgot to talk abou tthe bacground intruments and music!!!!!!! its so good!! each song has its own little flairs and they all r just... wonderfulyl composed!!!!

now,,, the seventh song is The Mind Electric,.,. (tw for just like. idk dude its super grim the guy gets electrocuted) this one is like.. rlly haunting but its super good!! so the first half of the song is all in reverse, which sets up this like.. rlly eerie tone for the song. bc. u dont know whats going on at first! bc its all reveresd n u know the like... idk its creepy hearing ppl talking/singing backwards. from the halfway point, the song isnt in reverse any longer. dude,,, like the lyrics themselves? ouchies.... basically this guy goes to court for... somethin its not told- but uh basicallly he gets sent to an infirmary and ends up gettinf electrocuted bc his minds not in a good place. its super grim n honestly just... man,,,,,, i could explain more on this but itd probably b better as its own post tbh !!!

,,,the eighth song is Labyrinth! this one seems to b mostly about someone whos in this big.. personal struggle with love + relationships n feels trapped inhis own mind, hence the labyrinth.

the ninth song is Time Machine !! this ones pretty straightforward i think!!! kinda. this person feels like the wasted thier past and is sad and regretful. so they use a time machine!!! it feels like they are living the dream, right? but its lonely!! they begin to regret it. they realize they shouldnt waste their present.

the tenth song is Stranded Lullaby! lots of boat references n terminology here, the singer is looking for someone who they once lost, but cant seem to find them in the vast oceans of existence.

the eleventh and final song is called Dream Suite in Sea Major!!! this ones also one of my favorites !!!! this one rlly just wraps up the album. it tells the story of a sailor who gets lured in by sirens. it ends with a subtle nod to the album not being super easy to find with the lyrics "invisible to some until its time."
