finally, all the arm and spirit abilities- for the first half of the game (rauru) and for the second half with the shiekah arm replacing links arms instead and the spirit abilities gained through ganondorf

(please excuse my handwriting and sometimes repeated info on the first two, i lost motivation/patience at the end and couldnt get myself to basically redo it all from scratch just to make it a bit more cleaner)

note, the camera rune is unconnected to the arm, its the shiekah stone copy link has (zelda carries the one from botw, a copy was attempted to be made for link but it lacks all runes except the camera, the map and its teleportation, and journal/archive)

note for the heal effects of some spirit abilities- im also reworking the healing system, making it more like the older games, so healing isnt as easy and much more restricted, thus making those effects of spirit abilities more valuable ( lil potion icon on the d pad will act a little bit like in skyward sword, opens your limited selection of healing items and if chosen link switches to holding it and letting you consume it with -a- while walking around in real time- to avoid more pausing and mass healing on regular items while in menu)

additional note, the automatic recharging of the magic meter depending on the environment gives you a reliable but less abusable way of using abilities and allows for even more creative dungeon/challenge design by using it effectively- it works by absorbing magic from its surroundings, so if its an area with little magic it recharges slower, if its a very spiritual or healthy place it will recharge faster, it can be used to make things more challenging and also as subtle storytelling (example, theres a graveyard with the magic energy around being off the charts, even if there are no spirits to see, it could hint at the people buried not having died peacefully, no matter what their gravestone says...)

the usage of magic and how much the different abilities cost also allows for a much more dynamic fighting style for players to choose and try out, balancing them all out with their cost instead of a fixed timer, and the recharging beign affected by the environment perhaps forcing players that favor high cost magic abilities to use the lower cost ones for example, or not being able to charge one up bc the enemy is too fast and doesnt give you enough time to charge it

about half of the small overworld dungeons (not shrines) are also locked/inaccessible for the first half and new quests appear as the second half commences- together with the additional changes raurus return brings with it (sonau buildings, enemies being mostly cosntructs that he summoned etc) and whole set of new abilities giving you a fresh new way to play while (hopefully) not making you feel too restricted for the first half

... making these detailed concepts took me longer than id like to admit q-q

What kind of octopus is Kraken!Moon?

Between the pictures I'm definitely going to be talking about some facts on the octopi, and also how I incorporate certain aspects of them into Moon's overall design. Cause I'm a nerd and I want to.

Oops, I meant "they are adept at using tools to-" sorry, m a bit tired.

Many of the shelters that are made by coconut octopi are made using coconuts (hence their moniker), shells, and anything around they feel they could pull over their heads or curl up into! A really interesting aspect about that is also that when it comes time to move their shelters for whatever reason they may need to, they WALK. Thats right. THEY ARE BIPEDAL YA'LL.

There isn't really a lot known about Bioluminescent octopi. Most of what I saw discussed was how they are deep sea creatures, and how the glow could mean all sorts of things. Maybe for hunting like angler fish, maybe to scare off predators (or perhaps to distract like the Vampire squid does when it uses a cloud of bioluminescent mucous to escape), its also possible its for attracting a mate.

What it is to moon hasn't really been decided yet? I kind of like the idea that it tunes you into his emotions. The more heightened his emotions, the brighter he gets. Sort of like blushing. I don't know, I'm thinking on it.

Also yes, the little bit hanging off the side of Moon's head is actually fins. Fins like you might find on the ever adorable:

Dumbo octopus! But his are incredibly small and do very lil flapping unless he's embarrassed or something. Honestly I see them mostly as vestigial.

There are a lot of interesting facts about the Blanket Octopus. Just off the top of my head, the female blanket octopus is HUGE. The girlies can stretch up to 6 feet. The guys... welp, hahaha. They are like an inch. Very similar to a height difference you guys have already seen with y/n, sun and moon, right?

However whats really interesting is that they are immune to the potent and painful sting of a man-o-war jellyfish. And whats even MORE interesting is what they do with that little bit of immunity. You see they have a tendency to rip off the man-o-war's stingers and use them for defense. How cool is that? also, kinda crazy fucked up. Imagine someone just snatched up your arm and started beating people to death with it?

Those posts with pictures of people’s worn yet well-loved plushies with the caption “to be loved is to be changed" but applied to Sua and her porcelain doll symbolism. 

Because of the neglect Sua faced from her own Guardian as well as the ways in which alien society mistreats humanity in general, she was left with no real sense of who she was as a person or what she wanted, seen as nothing more than an accessory to be flaunted and then put away without any thought or care. Sua was made to be seen as the epitome of what a human should strive to be: aesthetically pleasing to her Seygein audience, well-behaved, and talented. And while having these attributes did nothing when it came to being treated with any kind of real respect by the Seygein, I think it was what initially drew Mizi to Sua.

But while Sua seemingly being perfect may have been what initially grabbed her attention, I think the reason that Mizi fell in love with Sua was because Mizi was aware of the positive impact she had on the other girl. Growing up with and seeing a being that you view as the embodiment of perfection become more open and visibly happy whenever they are with you and clearly being as attracted to you as you are to them must have made Mizi feel like she was the most lucky being in the entire universe. And Sua felt this way too! Because Mizi attributed all those supposed perfections to Sua as a person and saw all of Sua’s accomplishments as being her own and not an extension of her Guardian or anyone else's. When Mizi looked at Sua, she simply saw Sua—no one else—and that must have meant everything to her. Mizi made Sua feel human.

And while the two girls essentially became each other's universes, Sua, who previously had no hope or desires of her own, began to adopt those of Mizi’s. Mizi’s innocent goal of singing on stage was changed to wanting to sing with Sua, and Sua, despite knowing the truth about their circumstances, took that on as being her goal as well. Any wants and desires that Mizi had became Sua's as she centered her life entirely around the one that essentially breathed that life into her. Like how a doll adopts whatever fantasy the one playing with it imagines. However, when it comes to porcelain dolls, one of their most defining features is how fragile they are.

The more you play with a porcelain doll, the more likely they are to break, and while Mizi’s love was what saved Sua, it simultaneously doomed her. The more Sua grew to love Mizi, the more of herself she wanted to give. Round 1 was the last time that Sua and Mizi were ever going to play together, and while she knew that by the end of their performance she would be broken, Sua fell apart happy.

hey hey hey, can i be annoying about totk (again) for a second bc i clicked on a totk video that made me annoyed again (it didnt sound like it would be, i dont watch stuff i know i wont like)

a petty little annoyance of mine is when people call the stupid ancient hero dog thing you get as a reward for all shrines a SONAU (zonai)

bc it is NOT, its so clearly NOT a sonau, sure its got greenish skin/fur and is largely dressed in their aesthetic, but it doesnt match the sonau we literally see, at all

sonau -- ancient hero dog thing (that i cant stand)

HUGE, fluffy ears -- hylian ears of normal size

white hair with color accent that matches their magic type -- flat red hair

THREE EYES -- two eyes

no tail -- lion tail (no other species has that?? not even lynels!!)

elongated body similar to zora -- human proportion

human legs and feet -- literal dog hind legs, the shape is not human, literal claws and paw pads

human eyes -- staring eyes akin to an animals (no white? does he even blink or move them? i dont remember seeing that??)

(i dont think the face shape and nose match either!!)

and when i said earlier its LARGELY dressed in sonau stuff? yeah bc the other half is ... gerudo?? of all things??? its got ganondorfs freaking jewel head piece???? plus the red hair, red hair being like THE gerudo thing, and im sure sure theres more aesthetic overlap (this weird missmatch is what inspired that dumb comic of mine that still gets shared, that thing being a weird lovechild of ganondorf and rauru .. probably the most popular post i ever made :I )

that thing is NOT a sonau and its not even subtle and it annoys me, personally

(as much as i hate everything totk, there is one video i saw that theorized the dog thing to be of an extinct race that lived in the depths and was enslaved by sonau to mine their shit, based on the statues underground matching the dog thing way more than any sonau and the miners armor set fitting their proportions, it also being wrapped in chains, which was honestly the only thing i have ever seen about totk i found mildly interesting- channel is 'Macintyre')

adding onto my last rant from a while ago a little bit, it is fascinating how many people in this fandom completely miss the point of tsumugis character and misconstrue what hes actually about which, ironically, is just what eichi did. and its done in such a similar fashion too, such as making assumptions about his motives, his family relationship, and missing the point in why he chooses to look the way he does. and, time and time again, eichi has been proven to be WRONG about tsumugi. he misunderstood him deeply, and now its eichi whos stuck mourning the past while tsumugi has long since moved on, not the other way around, as tsumugi is on the path of getting his happy ending. and i dont get why people keep trying to take this positivity from him
