Hey! So, I wanted to share with you a headcanon of mine on Kidou’s parents’ backstory. I’ve had this headcanon for around two years and I’m curious to know what you think of it. It’s just a personal headcanon, so please don’t take it seriously! I intend to put this into writing in the future. Anyways, I hope whoever I tag won’t mind me, so I tag @ygreczed, @calmystorm-saltycandy, @theoriginalsfan124, @therealruney, @shawn-and-aiden-frost-9, @psychochanger, and @sinfonylanglader! I’d love to hear your opinions specifically as well as from others. Feel free to add on to the headcanon as well!

Okay, so, assume Kidou's mother is from a wealthy family that owns a huge company. Kidou's mother was attending business school in the US (according to her father's wishes since she was to be trained to become the future CEO of the family company) when she fell in love with this African-American singer she met at a jazz club one night. She was 20 and the man was 23 at that time, and they both developed feelings for each other.

For three years they had dated in secret in fear of her father's anger. They weren't being careful one night and boom, pregnant with Kidou. They both wanted to raise the child together and even voiced out wanting to elope, but eventually, her father caught the news from an unknown source and demanded she flies back home. They were forcefully separated and broke both of their hearts from it. Once she got back to Japan, her father had been so angry with her. He did not want any scandals to appear and negatively impact the company its reputation, so he made sure that his daughter was never able to contact the American ever again. He went as far as to set her up for an arranged marriage to cover up the rumors as to why he had taken away his daughter from her studies abroad. 

However, once her father and the rest of the family found out she was already pregnant out of wedlock, they decided to disown her for bringing “shame” and “dishonor” to the family name, especially with a man of a different race. They kicked her out of the house with only enough money to survive for a few months in a small apartment. From then on, she had to live on her own, doing part-time jobs here and there in order to survive. 

She eventually met another man at a cafe where she worked, and they fell in love. This man knew of her pregnancy (since she was already two months in) and her background and is very supportive of her and promised to take care of the future baby with her. They dated for around seven months when they got engaged. On the eighth month, they both got married attended by the groom’s family, both their friends and colleagues in a small chapel. Fortunately, the man she got married to was a man who had always loved her and accepted her and the baby wholeheartedly. After hearing her tragic separation from her previous lover, her current husband never once judged her and told her that as soon as the boy was old enough they would go and see the baby's real father. 

Finally, Kidou was born. He was born with albinism. His hair remained brown (inherited from his jazz singing father) but his eyes were affected by the albinism which explains the red eyes (because even though I know in anime it's uncommon to have characters who have red eyes for no reason, I like my idea of Kidou with albinism because then it explains why he would wear goggles and glasses - to protect his eyes from too much light). Her mother's intelligence and cleverness was passed down to him.

After a year of having Kidou, Haruna was born from his mother and her current husband, which explains why they don't look the same as siblings, but I'd like to think they both have the intelligence and innovative thinking from their mother as well as the similar smiles. During the gap year between Kidou’s and Haruna’s birth, Kidou’s mother and her current husband were finally financially stable and owned a larger apartment in a city close to the capital.

Growing up Kidou has always shown skillful playing for piano and shows passion for jazz music. Unfortunately, before Kidou was mature enough they both died in a plane accident. When he reached his teenage years he began to wonder who his real father was. Not that his mother ever kept it a secret. Kidou always knew from a young age that he was different in terms of appearance compared to his stepfather and Haruna, so when he voiced his confusion to his mother, she smiled at him sadly and told him stories about his real father who sang like an angel and had the smile of a thousand suns. It became Kidou's favorite bedtime story, listening to his mother lull him to sleep by talking about his real father. He has an American name that his biological father had originally wanted for him, Jude or Judeah.

SO : this is a remake of an ooooold comic of mine (I posted a part of it in a question time I did in July 2018 or something… you can check it here if you want ahem)

I never ever posted the original comic because I initially was an author in the french IE fandom, and you can’t post comics on fanfiction.net lol… Maybe you’ll find some tiny similarities between Old Friend and The Sleep Catcher… well, tbh I’ve drawn my inspiration from the old version of this comic to draw the Sleep Catcher. BUT ! The rest of the story is 100% original story !

I really wanted to make some kdfd content before the end of my Christmas break (I mean, you’re mostly following me for this, don’t you ?) and as I had no time to come up with a new story, I decided to recycle an old one ahaha

Thank you so much for the this big amount of support. Honestly, when I started this blog in March, I didn’t think I would get 500 followers. I got to know a lot of people who have been a huge support for me, and I’m really glad we could communicate by the power of this fandom.
