▹ sukuna and dazai: sukuna uses him as a head rest. he thinks it's very funny. but they do actually get along surprisingly well idk it's weird. they too, take naps together sometimes and that usually just means that dazai's layed over sukuna in like a very dramatic way.

▹ suguru and chuuya: they like to judge others, but while suguru is very serious abt that chuuya.. gets very irked if suguru teases dazai too much lmao. but then in retaliation, chuuya points at satoru, who's hand is stuck in the cookie jar and they both just shut up and don't bring up their boyfriends anymore. they like to do skincare together though (and they both also have to apply face masks to their boyfriends bc they will whine otherwise)

▹ toji and satoru: satoru's constantly glued to toji, he has the fattest crush on him. satoru also likes to sleep on top of toji a lot.

▹ dazai and toji: dazai ALSO has the fattest crush on toji. toji thinks they're both a little weird<3 aand dazai likes to hold onto toji's biceps a lot.

Already the UK found this party atmosphere stifling, being a literal demon from hell usually had its perks but being the only who couldn’t get drunk wasn’t one of them. And god he wished he could drink away the sight before him.

Yeah...this became a rant that I had no idea I was holding within myself. I've put it all under a Read More thing for those who haven't seen or finished the event for whatever reason. The actual content asked for is below this rant so feel free to skip over it for the real reason y'all are reading this 😅

Okay, people seem to be very...negatively passionate about this event. Don't get me wrong; I understand and agree with why everyone is upset. Playing with the brother's trauma (well, most of the brother's trauma since Satan wasn't alive at the time and Asmo seemed pretty chill with the whole angelic thing) for sake of an event? That's fucked up.

On a story level, I was at first mad at Diavolo. I mean, surely, surely that man knows what horrible stuff Lucifer and his brothers went through or at least part of it, because the ending of it all is what brought the brothers to him! And maybe he thought the costume change was okay since Asmo requested it? But even so, the consent of one brother does not equal the consent of all brothers to dress up like their past selves!

Then bangles. Simeon knew what they did and still gave them to the brothers. Okay, upsetting, but Michael told him to give them to the brothers and maybe he can't refuse an archangel? I dunno but fuck you, Michael.

I'll admit though, those bangles helped the brother do good things and get past their gnawing insecurities (Mammon selling his stuff and donating the money to charity, Asmo know longer stressing over looking perfect and finding peace with his looks and ultimately, learning to truly love himself in a way he never did before), but such things happened for the wrong reasons. I want those good changes for our boys, but I don't want it forced on them like it has been in this event. I want them to reflect, see that a changes is need, and choose to work in themselves and self-heal.

This event was just a lot of me smiling uncomfortably and screaming in my head "what's happening to my sinny boys??". It honestly broke my heart when Luce said he didn't have any fond memories of his time as an angel and I was so worried about all of the bad memories that must be flooding his mind because of this, especially his since his brother, though began with anxiety in the beginning, fell into what's practically mind control quite easily, and only Luce was left fighting it's affects.

Some parts of the event were cute, I won't deny that, but it wasn't them. We didn't truly have our boys during this event and instead had to watch them revert to state they likely never wanted to and it hurt to watch...

Okay, I started this rant trying to make a point that I thought the rest of the fandom felt too strongly about this event and now I'm like...ouch, I had a lot more feelings in me about it than I originally thought. So ya, I understand now. Imma just hide in the corner and hug my Luci...

Essentially lies to them and feels extra guilty about it thanks to the bangles, but no stupid bracelet is gonna make him admit that and hurt his human worse!

Overall, MC's outburst forces him to focus on them and not his own current issues.

ok i’ve always been so curious about sukuna’s origin story; all we know at this point obvi is that he was a human sorcerer originally, so i’m right there with you re: some major turning point between that and him being a curse. and i think it would provide some valid background for why reader, as a priestess at that time, would even be around him enough to fall in love. like god can you imagine them having the type of dynamic that gojou, getou, and ieiri had in school? a trio growing up and realizing their powers for good side by side until one strays?

michizane and sukuna don’t necessarily like each other, but there’s a clear respect for each other’s power and skill. the real glue keeping them together, though, is the reader who’s been in both of their lives as long as they can remember and is the only other sorcerer around that rivals their skill.

they’ve both loved you for as long as they can remember too, but there’s always been something about sukuna in particular. he’s rougher around the edges, and is more inclined to make you mad than michizane is (you have that regal upbringing to thank for that), but for every argument, there’s a tender touch. For every eye roll, there’s a longing glance.

you’re so caught up in his that you never notice the ones from michizane too.

your relationship isn’t really a surprise. nor is the engagement or pregnancy announcement that follows. it causes a lot of stir all the same though - two of the most powerful sorcerers coming together is bound to send ripples in friendly and enemy circles alike.

unfortunately for you, the returning tide is too fast for you to see coming.

can you imagine if it wasn’t even curses that attacked you? but cursed users of a different sorcerer faction trying to break your union because the two of you together would ruin any plans they had for taking over the jujutsu world?

you manage to survive the attack, but your unborn child does not and the loss sends you both in a spiral. with everything you know about how curses are created, you do a good job of accepting the loss without denying yourself a period of mourning. sukuna, on the other hand, just...spirals. He can’t see you sad, hurt without feeling rage --- add to that the loss of a baby and you get hatred, fury, bloodlust.

he becomes so obsessed with revenge and retribution that he slips further and further away until he’s gone altogether. 

he swears he’s doing everything he is for you though - this crusade against jujutsu sorcerers. he tells himself it’s the only way you can be happy together, the only way he can know for sure that no one else will hurt you: to kill them all.

and even when you plead with him otherwise, he has his mind set. he will not stand down.

shift gears and that’s where you get you and michizane growing closer in this rough time - you crying to him about how to draw sukuna back from the edge (though, really, he’s already long past it). He doesn’t say it out of care and love for you, but he can’t understand why you’re even trying anymore. it’s like an unspoken agreement that sukuna has to be stopped before he ruins the world as you all know it.

but you just don’t agree. you know the man you love and you know his motivations - you think he can still be helped. 

which just makes it so upsetting that in the end, the war Sukuna starts is what kills you --- and that he has to be the one to take that light out of your eyes. :(

A random logicality fic i didnt realize I wanted to write until just now, that i can't write out into an organized fic story atm but I can ramble about its whole world and character settup! So like. Take this as a massive bullet point fic if you will, but, yknow, minus the bullet point part..

Some background info: this is an omegaverse idea BUT it primarily focuses on the worldbuilding, character dynamics, and relationship dynamics and doesnt focus or even really mention nsft stuff. At least not in this post! Another fact abt this au is that there are no betas in this au, just alphas and omegas representing as the primary biological differences. Same general biology applies, and there is this worlds own version of the LGBTQ+ community as well, ect ect.

Logan is a highclass omega that lives on a large estate and is the only omega, let alone male omega(which is uncommon in this au), in his well known family's current generation. Hes got two other older alpha siblings Thomas and Deceit(named Dorian in this fic) and theyre all p close to eachother and wellknown to the public for being anti-classist despite the rest of their highclass family's history of being generally snooty and classist and not very family-oriented. They probably run a big entertainment company named after the family line and thats where most of their wealth comes from. Their family surname is probably Sanders. Logan is like, an inch above normal height for an omega and is sort of a frail, lanky, and uber pale man who doesn't eat well and doesnt exercise often and doesnt get enough sunlight and is often bored out of his mind, frankly.(all of this is due to his parent's terrible job of raising him, both from the servants (unhappily)following their orders for his care and from their blatant disregard for his health and happiness as a male omega. His brothers and the servants do the best they can to sneak around the rules, at least for food and sneaking Logan books and candles to entertain himself late at night or in his freetime when they arent hanging out together)

Patton, on the other hand, is a mid-high class Alpha in a little less well-known(in comparison to the Sanders family at least) but still well-respected family in a slightly smaller estate, known from their history of being a long line of hardworking successful people and being a very big and far reaching family. They probably breed a few prized mostly pure-bred and cross-bred horse breeds (the ethical way of course). And perhaps they(at least at Patton's estate specifically) also have their own fruit tree plantation that is known for selling its fruit as well as making said fruit into jams to be sold locally. Theyre family also has ties in helping many local businesses as well as a few larger companies ect. ect. The main family branch name is Crofters. ;p Patton is a v tall boi, and like his father, works hard around the estate just as much as any other worker. He helps harvest fruit from the plantation when its time and gets to help turn a good portion of the fruit into their famous crofters jam, and he helps tend to the stables and horses and chores all around the estate, does lots of heavy lifting ect.ect. So. Tall buff boi who's v suntanned and v freckled and made of friendliness and sunshine smiles yknow?? Hes an only child with just a father by the time hes 21 and a ton of extended family but he makes an effort to check in and make sure the local youth and elderly are well taken care of.

So in this fic, like, these things that are sort of like coming-of-age courting parties/festivals are held? It's a big cultural thing that happens each season to allow un-courted young adults a chance to meet and socialize with other un-courted young adults at their own leisure and pace rather than being subjected to family-directed arranged courtings(which are mostly a thing of the past at this point for their culture)

So like, p much Thomas and Dorian have to step in to help Logan persuade their parents into letting them take Logan to a local coming-of-age festival bc his parents are like this close to just making Logan go through w/ an arranged courting from some other highclass alpha, bc omega males aren't as 'prized'(to the highclass) or seen as desirable as omega females so getting Logan to marry into another wealthy family solely for maintaining status and making wealthy ties is the only use they see for him. Which of course,, his alpha siblings are having none of that if they have anything to say about it.(and they do. Logan deserves as much freedom as they do if not more, especially at this point in their lives. And Dorian spends the whole walk back to their bedrooms venting about the stupidity and blatant sexism of the fact that Dorian and Thomas are freely allowed to go wherever and do whatever they please because they're Alphas, "but Logan can't and has to be escorted everywhere that he is allowed to go if he wants to go anywhere as if he doesnt have his own autonomy! Why can Thomas and I go to the festival's without any fuss or escort but Logan is almost two steps from forbidden to even chose his own attire for the day? Highclass society is bullshit!")

So, with the eventual hard-won mutual agreement that Thomas and Dorian will be Logan's direct and only escorts to the festival who will not be left alone(they wouldnt leave him alone anyway, though not out of thinking that Logan is a dependent helpless omega that needs to be attended to and directed at all times, bc they dont believe that like their parents do, its out of the fact that theyre not about to leave their two years younger baby brother who has virtually no experience in socializing, let alone making friends, alone in a loud activity-filled festival w/ a large amount of varied attendance.) They head off during the winter festival season(as Logan's 21st birthday was in late autumn) to at least introduce their own friends that they've met over the years to Logan(who many of them have heard about but never met previously due to their parents toxic outdated mindsets on how omegas needed to remain shielded from the world and obediant, so Logans only friends for the longest time were his brothers themselves and that was it.).

So, the cast fic placements sorta go like this: Dorian has his intentions set on courting this very chaotic very non-conforming omega male named Remus(bc really, both of them just wanna say fuck you to the Sanders' parents' outdated ideals of societal conformity, really. However, Dorian pursuing Remus is like 5% driven by saying suck it to society, 15% spite towards his parents, and 80% because Remus stole his heart the first time they met by being unabashedly himself and being super interested and forward towards Dorian without being patronizing or disgusted with his birth scars and blind eye. Remus without prompting settles up against Dorian's blindside at all times when in public to work as a barrier to others sneaking up on the visually impaired alpha, all unprompted. Remus really really likes Dorian, and the feeling is mutual.) And! it works out bc even tho Remus is about as wild and as independant and inobedient and non-fragile and as far from the rest of the perfect omega stereotypes as they get, he's part of a family that is even higher in status than the Sanders family. Remus and his twin Roman are both male omegas born into a wealthy and publicly generous family that honestly is probably the most well known in the entertainment industry for its long line of professional actors, singers, and popular film/stage play writer and producers. Remus and Roman are naturally charismatic, Roman being a talented singer and trained actor while Remus dabbles in script writing and producing. Their mothers are respectively an omega and alpha and have their own accomplishments. And, are infact very progressive, and they plan to hand off the company to Roman and Remus to run when the twins are ready to, marriage not required. So, like. The Sanders parents cant exactly find a reason not to let Dorian pursue Remus without being openly obvious in their conservative views about omegas. (Which The Twins' parents already know about through Remus's recountings of Dorian's venting abt Logan's childhood mistreatment) so, safe to say, everyones in on pissing off the Sanders family in ways that they can't openly be mad about.

Anyways, to tie this all back in, the festivals mentioned above are both for meeting mutually un-courted young adults/adults and also for individuals to pursue courting who they want to court without family/class bias ect. (So like, un-courted/non-courting individuals dress/wear a main article in a certain color, while courted/courting individuals wear any other colors but that color, and said color depends on what season its in, and this coloring isn't something that varries from town to town, its universal in their culture. For Spring, un-courted individuals wear Green, in fall its Orange, in Summer its Yellow, and in Winter its Blue. And thats how you differentiate) so Thomas and Dee return to attend each of the seasonal festivals to court who theyre pursuing as a special time alone from either family watching as well as it being another way of meeting up with their friendgroup to have fun.

So, through Dorian, Logan finally meets Roman and Remus, and honestly its a real struggle for them to get along at first bc Roman and Remus are loud and brash and opinionated and independent, and rather unfiltered. And. Well, Logan grew up being trained to be the opposite, so he doesnt think they're compatible friends. But thats how he’s been raised to think. They lead and smother him in their conversation for a hot minute before realizing Logans just politely listening and not even attempting to join in, looking mildly uncomfy and out of his depth. And Romans a little offended before he remembers that what Remus relayed to him about Logan's uprising. So, Remus finds a way to get under Logans skin just enough to break down the polite walls that have been trained into him. Remus states stating false facts to Logan that he knows Logan knows are false and is able to get Logan just incredulous and heated enough to debate back. And Roman joins in just in time to change the subjects just a bit, and it takes some time but they get into a grove of getting Logan used to talking without being talked to, giving his own opinion on things without fear of repercussion and just generally conversating.(and they find, very smugly, that Logan can be just as loud and passionate about facts and his own thoughts and opinions if given the right outlet and the push to do it.) And it finally gets Logan to loosen up just a bit, to relax and smile and laugh(!!), and his brothers are just as excited for him bc Logan's finally getting to break out of his shell without the oppressive control of their parents directly looming over him.

So, okay okay, I'm getting to the logicality part, shhh, perfection takes time!! So, okay, I forgot to squeeze this in earlier but Thomas is courting Remy, whos a talented and smart as fuck, independent male omega from a family from their neighboring country. Remy has a big fam, but hes the head in charge out of all his siblings, ect ect. He’s an omega and the oldest, with three younger alpha siblings and one younger omega sibling. His parents are headstrong people who’ve raised a take-no-shit omega who will not be pushed around and will gladly do his own thing, thank you. If we’re being honest, its really Remy courting Thomas, whos a big-hearted softy introverted Alpha, like they are mutually interested in one another but Remy is a massive extrovert and theres no misunderstanding whose taking charge when theyre together. Remy’s existance alone is enough to Piss off the Sanders Family parents, especially after Remus enters the picture, however.. Remy takes it to the next level by being the more incharge, natural born leader, therefor flipping the old dominant alpha and obedient omega sterotype on its head. Thomas is happy to piss them off in doing it bc letting Remy take the lead makes Remy happy and keeps Remy from getting ansy and makes him happy bc he was never going to fully fit the dominant alpha sterotype anyways. Further still, out of the three siblings that are part of the Sanders family, only Thomas keeps the Sanders surname name in the end, as Dorian plans to take Remus’s and (future)Logan plans to take Patton’s surname. Which sets them up for: Remy chosing to take the Sanders Surname therefore becoming a direct part of the Sanders family name lineage, which the parents have no say over bc its technically up to Thomas by law, who gives Remy the option to chose on his own, ect.

Okay okay, w/ that set up, lets move forward.

Its p much a one-by-one meeting basis as Logan meets Dorian and Thomas’s partners and friends. So, Roman, Remus, and Remy all p much take Logan under their collective wing as soon-to-be omega brother-in-laws do. They all realize they’ve got a lot to teach Logan, and more importantly, kinda really need to get him courting soon bc Logan really needs to get out of that toxic household. They’re planning to keep it slowish bc Logan doesn’t know quite yet how to talk to people that arent his brothers, let alone have any knowhow on consentual courting?? But yeah, they’re keeping an protective eye out alongside Dorian and Thomas while still letting approaching un-courted alphas and omegas come close enough to interact/flirt w/ Logan. About mid-day Roman’s courting partner finally arrives:

A slightly withdrawn, tall and quiet Alpha who looks fairly intimidating until Logan realizes just how anxious the lanky Alpha is and how Roman is definately leading when he needs to to keep Virgil from overthinking. They end up hitting it off very well, unsurprisingly. Virgil doesn’t really know Logan’s whole story like Remus does bc Roman didn’t know to tell him in time so it takes some catching up and trading of their home lives to get to speaking terms but, Logan is soon to be the Twin’s brother in-law soo.. that p much makes Logan his family to be anyhow, so. Safe to say Virgil plays a minor part in warding off all too-cocky alphas thinking theyre about to find an easy catch in approaching Logan. Though, realistically, its the fact that a small group of courting young-adults are guiding and staying w/ said un-courted young-adult that keeps Logan from getting approached too much. It may not have allowed him to get the full festival experience, but, its likely Logan would not have been able to handle the Full Experience, especially not on his own.

Finally, incomes Patton. Patton, wearing blue just like Logan, stands out because he approaches the group fearlessly and full of sunshine, going through and greeting each familiar face before he realizes Logan is a new part of the group and politely and warmly introduces himself. Though well known to the group through being Virgil’s longstanding childhood bestfriend and part of a very openly interactive and helpful w/ everyone around them family, this is actually Patton’s first coming-of-age festival, as he’d just turned 21 two weeks prior. And hes very excited to meet new people, he always is! He’s quick to tell Virgil that the jam they’d made earlier in the fall(it was tradition at this point that Virgil helped Patton with the jam making process every year) had been successful in sales and smiles, and hes content to ramble to Virgil about the progress of the stables’ new foals. Logan would have thought Patton had out-right forgotten about him had Patton not begun turning to ask Logan an excited question every minute or so. And he always listened to Logan’s answers completely with rapt attention before asking or saying something further.

Niether of them know they’d both had the same thought when they’d first seen the other. A very sappy, very flustered thought of ‘Oh god, he’s cute.’ The moment they’d made eye-contact.

And, well, Logan is a tad overwhelmed, for many reasons. For one, Patton, on the very surface, is very attractive. Tall and well-built, sunkissed and freckled with curly blond hair and a dashing smile that lit up his entire expression, and Logan couldn’t help mirror Patton’s infectious smile with a shy one of his own. Another was that Patton’s voice was warm, not too loud though it carried well, it was welcoming and unashamedly happy. Patton was patient and kind and friendly, yet still felt reminiscent of an excited puppy. He was unabashedly himself in the nicest of ways, and Logan’s heart kept fluttering everytime their eyes met, everytime Patton asks him a question or answers his own. Patton leads the conversation, but leaves plenty room for Logan to take his own direction if he pleases. He’s considerate and thoughtful and actually treating Logan like a person, not some dependent omega or a possible mate. And it definately doesn’t go unnoticed that Logan’s blushing and slightly flustered, but Patton doesn’t push about it, he just lets the conversation stop and go as they please as the group wanders around and take part in the festivities.

And.. well, the group does take notice that Patton and Logan have started ignoring outside signals of omegas and alphas that wanna get close and interact with either one of them, but they don’t tell them about it. Logan and Patton are pretty obviously interested in each other, and honestly no ones gonna interrupt them while they figure things out. Patton is the only one who definately doesn’t know about Logan’s situation, but he picks up on it’s cues pretty quickly and treads carefully without prodding, though Logan is upfront about himself being raised under opressive conservative ideals so hes pretty new to everything, but he leaves it at that for their first interaction.

P much they spend the rest of the festival together, Dorian and Thomas directly checking in once or twice to confirm Logan is doing okay and happy. Thomas is met with a soft “yes.. Is this what romantic attention feels like?” And Dorian gets “Yes, though i’m not sure how long i’m going to be able to keep functioning if he keeps smiling at me with his handsomeface.” Which these things are said obviously w/ Patton out of earshot And both brothers have to keep themselves from cackling bc their brother is very gay for Patton. And Patton is very openly gay for Logan right back, not that Logan really knows how to read that yet tho.

By the end of the festival, Logan just decides that he wants to pursue courting Patton, h’s very sure of it especially after bringing it up with Dorian and Thomas and getting their approval. Then Logan brings it up with Patton directly and it goes something like this:

Logan shyly but determained asks Patton if he would consider courting Logan, and Patton just smiles warmly and leans down to take Logan’s hand and kisses it. Then says “I did consider it, Lolo, and I’d be more than blessed to get to court you.” And Logan just blushes so bright he has to hide his face and Patton just laughs and hugs him.

Skipping forward, Patton gets the Sanders families hesitant approval to let him directly court Patton, which involves them sending Logan over to spend periods of time at Pattons estate, and Patton coming to stay with Logan at the Sanders estate during the other half of the time. Cue Patton learning just how bad Logan’s home situation is and would be without his brothers there to buffer some of it, and Patton stepping up to curb it back as well while being non-aggressive about it.

Cue Patton taking Logan to meet riding horses directly for the first time, as well as meet baby horses. He eases Logan into the concept of being free to do almost whatever he pleases while staying at the Crofters estate, which is pretty mild for the longest time but watching Logan smile excitedly when he got a new book, or got to walk around town with Patton, or got to say yes or no just because he finally could? It means all the world to Patton. Cue the scene of them resting under a tree near the front of the estate during the day, easily seen and watched but relaxing and napping atop of one another all the same. Logan’s head against Patton’s board chest, listening to Patton’s heartbeat while patton runs his hand through Logan’s hair. Then, Logan tenatively asking about laying out front to stargaze in the evening, and honestly the night they finally get to stargaze for the first time a few days later is when the really fully fall in love.

Cue Virgil coming to visit with Roman in tow when its that time of the year to make the famous Crofters jam, and Logan is staying over at the estate at the time. And Logan finally tries Crofters jam for the first time, as he’d been putting it off before as not being a jelly person. And he just. Finds he really really likes it, probably an inproper amount. Patton takes notice, and doesn’t hesitate to spoil Logan with it every once in a while. Logan also learns how to make Crofters jam, and it was alot of fun to do! Hes tuckered out by the end of it, but thats not surprising.

And okay. Another major fun plot point is that during times that Patton and Logan are staying at the sanders estate, Dorian and Remus, Thomas and Remy, and Roman and Virgil also often are found staying at the large estate, and its no coincidence. Now that Logan is being directly courted(and its going very well), Logan’s autonomy now falls under Patton’s command, not Logan’s parents. And, well, Patton lets him make his own decisions as long as they stick together, as Pattons not comfy leaving Logan alone unless hes with one of his brothers or their omegan mates(bc at this point, Remus and Dorian finished their yearlong courting and married and are official mates, and same goes for Thomas and Remy. ) and well. My favorite concept is that Logan now has the guidance of 3 firely independant omegas to help him learn to strive for the independant mindset that had been robbed from him in his youth. Safe to say, Logan comes out just as stubborn and independant and passionate as the other three. He just tends to be the one out of the four who is the most content with their alpha being a bit more in the lead on a daily basis.

Didn’t really think abt an ending too much but like, Logan and Patton get married and become mates and move to Patton’s estate permanantly and just being so happy and inlove with Patton. And everythings?? Good?? So yeah.

NEVER WAS THERE A TALE OF MORE WOE, THAN THAT OF OUR JEANNE AND FANGDADDIO 😭😭😭

But alas, I will relay what I read back in the day to the best of my abilities! Spoilers for the end of Jeanne’s route under the cut, rated E (for everyone) for maximum uwus (and M for angst bc F U C K):

Okay so basically Jeanne’s route goes a lot like most of the routes, and when MC gets attacked (by the rival vampire turned by Vlad) our eyepatched wonder is not happy about it. He storms over to Comte’s room and demands to have his questions answered. Comte notes how deathly serious he is and breezes past the enmity, telling him to go ahead and ask whatever he needs to. Jeanne threatens to kill Comte if it turns out that he’s lying about anything from this point forward. To which Comte (being a little shit), replies that he literally can’t die so like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Jeanne tells him he doesn’t care what it takes; he’ll rend him apart to the tiniest shred over and over and over again--even if it takes them both to the other side to accomplish it. Comte concedes and says “very well; if I lie, you’re welcome to try.” Jeanne finally asks if Comte has made a revival pact with anyone new. Comte is genuinely confused and confesses that he hasn’t--that he has no idea who Jeanne is talking about. “What ‘comrade in arms’???” Jeanne seems to sense that Comte is responding in earnest (but is also confused bc like, then who the fuck else turned the guy??? WHO IS THE THREAT I MUST STAB)

Jeanne admits that MC was attacked and you can feel the change in gravity in milliseconds. Comte starts asking where she is and if she’s okay, and Jeanne explains that she’s still in the mansion and she’s fine. Jeanne then asks if Shakespeare has the ability to turn people like he does, and Comte is bewildered to put it mildly. He’s like ??????? Where is this coming from, of course he doesn’t???? I turned him myself, he’s a lesser vampire--he doesn’t have that ability???? In a moment of sheer livid impatience, Jeanne grabs Comte by the lapels and screams “Then who can!?!?!?!” Comte stares at him and admits that there are only two people that he is aware of who can accomplish such a thing, himself and someone else. They hear a loud crash and they run to the dining room, only to find a window smashed, Mozart wounded, and MC gone. Comte’s furious sprite appears, and he asks Jeanne to look after MC, he has something to take care of. Isaac asks him where on earth he’s going, and he reveals that he’s going to Will’s house before storming out.

Poor Shakespeare faces the brunt of Comte’s rage--though I get the feeling, knowing now that Shakespeare is Vlad’s puppet--that the threat was meant more for Vlad than for Shakey boy. Comte goes to Shakey’s place and Shakespeare offers to put on tea or wine, says it’s strange for him to appear so late. Comte tells him not to bother, since he isn’t here to exchange pleasantries. Shakespeare seems p shocked given Comte isn’t usually one to be so direct or terse, and when Comte walks in he backs Shakespeare into the wall step. By step. By step. He asks him if he was involved in the harm done to MC, and Shakespeare’s like “Yeah lol what’s it to you.” And when their shoes are nearly touching, Comte grabs him by the throat and lifts him off the ground. He tells Shakespeare that if this goes on, he won’t show any mercy: "To those that would harm a single member of my house, I will hunt them to the ends of the earth. To the very depths of hell." The narration notes that he lets go of whatever dampens his pureblood aura and nearly suffocates Shakespeare with his raw intensity and power, before putting him down again and saying “That’s all I have to say. I have no more questions for you.” Comte walks right back out, slamming the door while Shakespeare is on the floor coughing. 

So, needless to say, things are hella rocky between Comte and Jeanne throughout the better part of the route. But given the odd dichotomy of Comte’s reactions (his complete acceptance of Jeanne’s fury versus his own anger being directed at Vlad), it definitely felt like there was more there. Everything finally comes full circle at the end when Comte gathers everyone inside the dining room to explain precisely what happened (Vlad, etc. I’m assuming) and asks everyone to take proper precautions moving forward: "I'll take steps to make sure this never happens again. But if we are faced with a similar situation, know that I am prepared to protect you all with every fiber of my being." He deems secrecy a moot point given this incident, and just wants everyone to be safe and ask for help should they need it in the future. 

MC notes that he doesn’t have his usual placid demeanor; he’s incredibly serious and grave. She’s like “Oh boy some serious shit went down huh...but if anything, I feel like it’s only made us have more faith in his ability to protect us c:” AND HERE IS WHERE THE BIG HURT HAPPENS KIDS GET YOUR TISSUES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Jeanne: "...Alright. I will trust in your words. But can I ask just one thing?” Comte: “Yes, Jeanne?” Jeanne: "You know I always hated you, I truly believed you revived me against my will for a long time." Comte just sorta deflates, but he doesn’t say anything (MY POOR BABIE) Jeanne: "But, is that really the case? Did I want to live on, away from that pyre...?" [There was a long silence.] Comte: “...That day, when I appeared, you screamed desperately 'Why must I die here. Whether it be God or the devil, someone make use of me!'” Important note: Jeanne tells MC that he is able to recall thinking that, but he has no acute recollection of saying it; this is the moment at which he lost consciousness. MC: [;-; No matter how hard he tried to stifle it, it (his deep wish to live) came out all the same...] I wasn’t able to transcribe it, but Comte essentially tells him that he tried to ask Jeanne, but he was already barely hanging on--there was no way he could get a proper answer. (This is highly plausible given we know that Jeanne was incarcerated by the Inquisition, tortured, and starved before he was tied to that pyre--it was a miracle he lasted that long. He didn’t even have the strength to move/struggle from where he was tied). Comte goes on to say that Jeanne was pissed to shit when he woke up and there was little he could do to alleviate that (I mean given he was waiting for the sweet release of death it makes sense but also N O ;-;). For a while Jeanne just stares at him before asking: Jeanne: “...Why? Why didn’t you tell me after all this time?” Comte: "Because I thought it was okay if you berated me a little." Jeanne (vine voice: AMERICA EXPLAIN): ?????????? Comte: "Despite being alive...you looked dead to the world ever since the day we met. No matter how hard I tried or whatever I did, I couldn't seem to change that. But...the only emotion I seemed to be able to draw out of you was hate. If hatred was the only thing that could move you, I figured I'd take on that role. Better to see you express something than to see you lifeless beyond any glimmer of hope or change." Jeanne: "Why....why would you go that far?? Why did you bother? I don't...understand" BECAUSE HE HAS SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE AND HE LOVES YOU I’M SOBBING ALL OVER AGAIN OKAY DEEP BREATHS THE SHOW MUST GO ON MINNIE Comte: "Because I'm the one that revived you...because to me, you're all my precious family." Jeanne: "...............................................................I...I'm sorry" AND JEANNE HANGS HIS HEAD WAAAAAAAAAAAH Comte’s brows rise: “...Jeanne?” Jeanne: "I know an apology doesn't forgive everything I did/said. But I don't know how else to make amends"

It goes on to show them all making amends, and while Jeanne can sometimes be like “ughghhghgh d a d stop nagging I’m fINE” he secretly really loves the guy. In Jeanne’s third bday story he’s literally like [Comte’s a weirdo but I see now that that's just how he cares abt me. He's not just worldly, he's a good guy. c: I just don’t care abt whatever he’s going on abt rn]

So like full disclosure before Jeanne’s route I still loved Comte but I really didn’t know much about him beyond the “eccentric nobleman persona.” Granted we definitely get glimpses into who he really is, but this was a sizeable breakthrough. (And probably a strong allusion to the release of Comte’s MS soon after.) That being said, there were so many things said here that just absolutely shattered my heart. 

Because here’s the thing. I have no qualms with Comte’s wish to be a dad--or even to revive the men, for that matter. If it makes him happy and he intends to take care of them reasonably well, then who am I to criticize him? (Fun fact: Leonardo essentially says the same exact thing; he’s more against it than I am because of the whole turning humans, but he doesn’t necessarily vilify Comte because he knows his intentions are good. And if everyone’s happy with it, what can he say?) But the fact that Comte handles their issues with so much patience and maturity...I’m in love???? There is sincerely nothing sexier than this for me. He’s fully aware that Jeanne was treated like absolute shit by the people he tried to protect, that he never really got to live for himself a single day in his life--never knew a moment’s peace, joy, or appreciation. He tries everything he can think of to get Jeanne to maybe not hate being alive as much, but fails at every turn. He still refuses to give up on the guy despite the less than ideal state of things, and decides that if Jeanne needs an enemy to survive--he will be that enemy. He doesn’t care that the guy he’s trying to help would skewer him the second he had his back turned (Jeanne pls this was a new suit couldn’t this wait). He takes full responsibility for deciding to turn him; knows that since he erred on the side of caution, it’s up to him to offer a life that’s worth keeping/staying alive for. He doesn’t belittle Jeanne’s plight for a moment, never deems him stupid or shortsighted. He’s able to understand that in the wake of so much pain and loss, of course Jeanne might not notice the finer points of Comte’s attempts to cheer him up. Even if it pains him to be on negative terms (HE LOVES HIS BOY HE DOESN’T WANT TO FIGHT) he will fully accept it if it brings Jeanne peace, if it helps Jeanne get to a place where he can begin to accept the affection he wants to offer.

And THAT’S what kills me, kids. Four hundred years, and Comte fucking LEARNED something. He is perceptive to uncanny degrees, and never fails to read a room in milliseconds; not only does he pick up on how people feel, he responds with appropriate, gentle measures. What I love so much about Comte is that he knows full well that genius does not come without its price. You could be the smartest person on earth, the most talented, whatever you choose to call it, but it will invite no shortage of hatred from other people, no shortage of misunderstanding and disdain and violence. If people don’t go mad with power, they are destroyed by the very places that birthed them. As such, the last thing he wants to do is put them under more pressure, or force them to do things against their will; he just wants to give them a chance to live beyond such fickle and hostile circumstances. And he takes this seriously, this isn’t remotely a whim for him despite all evidence to the contrary. He gets that healing takes time, and as much as he wants everyone to be happy he’s more than willing to give them space/resources to figure it out. Like. He is the father everybody DREAMS they had (if they didn’t already have a good one) and the fact that I can’t tell him what a wonderful job he’s doing is killing me on all levels INCLUDING physical.

And I just?????? Jeanne’s palpable remorse when he finds out????? And Comte’s surprise???????? Like Comte wasn’t necessarily expecting that level of apology, he knew he was taking a gamble and he was ready to do whatever he had to, he wasn’t intending to hold it against his boy. But Jeanne just has such a tender and well-meaning heart (no matter how much he struggles to express it) that regret was inevitable. There’s just so much love in that moment, in Comte’s capacity to forgive and take on so much of poor Jeanne’s unhappiness, and Jeanne’s fully ability to admit he was misguided, lower his head, and apologize. THEY JUST GET ME BLUBBERING LIKE A THREE YEAR OLD OKAY THEY ARE BOTH SO IMPORTANT TO ME AND I HURT

Tl;dr: JEANNE’S ROUTE SHOT ME FORTY-SEVEN TIMES IN THE CHEST AND LEFT ME PINING FOR COMTE MORE THAN EVER BEFORE OTL

Also a bonus, because it only just occurred to me (spoilers from the end of Comte’s route):

THEY HAVE A LEGIT REVERSAL AT THE END OF COMTE’S ROUTE???? Comte once again gathers everyone to reveal Vlad’s identity and intentions, and he apologizes for keeping it from everyone, lowering his head. He’s more than ready to face everyone’s ire for keeping secrets, but everyone’s just like “dad pls lift your head it’s okay, we’re just glad we can help you now--you don’t have to carry it all on your own.” AND IT IS IN FACT, JEANNE, THAT ALSO SAYS “No need to bow like that Comte, aren't you the one always saying we're family?" AND WHEN I TELL YOU I WAS IN A PUDDLE OF TEARS?????? I WILL NEVER BE OKAY. POOR COMTE WAS SO MOVED AND MY HEART CAN’T TAKE HAVING THIS KNOWLEDGE WHERE’S MY HANKIE. JEANNE. BEING THE ONE. TO SAY. “Aren’t we family?” WHEN HEARING HOW HARD COMTE WAS WORKING TO PROTECT THEM, BC HE 100% IDENTIFIES WITH THE STRUGGLE OF LOOKING AFTER PEOPLE THAT DON’T KNOW/CARE THAT SOMEBODY ELSE IS THE SACRIFICE FOR THEIR PEACE OF MIND. I--

WHAT IS IT THAT JEANNE AND COMTE SHARE TO THE CORE, SO MUCH THAT JEANNE WOULD NEED NO OTHER EXPLANATION TO CHANGE HIS MIND AFTER YEARS OF BITTER DISDAIN???????? THEIR CAPACITY FOR DEVOTION, THEIR EASY WILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE ANYTHING TO PROTECT A LIFE. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THIS EPIPHANY IS GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME

I cant say im completely a proponent of one or the other but the loudest sides of the fanbase don't think "easy mode" is an accessibility feature. When thats what a private pve server would be basically. Bro wtf do you think alliance servers are, honestly. Fuck you. Im only bringing this up bc im mad abt my experience. Im glad they're making private servers a thing tho, even if u can't make some progresses, i think it'll be nice.

Im not even a sore looser generally. Im not a competitive person. It makes me extremely anxious and skeeved out. I dont like pvp most of the time /because/ its competitive. I literally /dont play Arena Mode. I like playing with people, though.

God fuck, it wasn't even a fight. Like I've been killed and sunk before and its fine, part of the game. You win some, you lose some. Its one thing if I we fight and I lose. I came out of the waterfall and was immediately shot. Like at least if we were both on a ship there'd be slightly more of a fight and I'd bow graciously to the pirates that sunk me, u kno? Its happened before and it'll happen again. I'm not very good at aiming and thats on me. I also think camping is particularly gross. Like what's the point? Aren't you bored? Sorry, tangent.

well, youve already heard about the first date that we realized was indeed A Date with futakuchi, but my first Proper Date with him would have to be somewhere like an arcade where we can have fun but still talk?? personally movie (theater) dates aren’t good first dates bc you Have to stay silent until the movie is over?? what’s the APPEAL...

there’s a shared exhale of relief as the large stuffed pokemon gets dropped by the crane into the pickup zone. “i can’t believe you pulled that off,” i tell him.

“you know, just for that, i’m keeping it.”

“you don’t even like pokemon! what happened to ‘this one’s for you, baby?’” i ask, voice dropping an octave to imitate him.

“you’ve got good taste in music,” i tell him as the next song on his playlist begins. he’s definitely planning something, but i don’t say anything as his driving becomes less aimless.

“oh, i know,” he grins. “good enough for you to ask me for recommendations, i’d say.”

i’m crossing my arms before his sentence gets to finish. “listen,” i start, “you can’t tell me it didn’t work. we’re together now, aren’t we?” he doesn’t choose to grace that with a response.

before we know it, kuroo’s parked the car. “we’re here.”

“here? at the park? what are you gonna do, hold my hand while we watch the sunset?” i tease, getting out of the car. he doesn’t respond. “tetsu?”

“you really think you know me, don’t you?” he appears from the other side, picnic basket in hand and a resigned smile on his face. “what do you suggest we do now that my surprise has been torn to shreds, hm?”

“i mean...can we still eat? i’m kinda hungry.” i point to the basket. (i’m clearly deflecting ,, i was Not expecting kuroo the simp to jump out so early and my heart Cannot Take It)

2. who normally plans the dates?

between me and futakuchi i’m going to say none of us! we don’t really go on Dates dates, it’s just Us Hanging Out !! with kuroo, at first it’s him tbh but after we get comfortable everything becomes a date... idk tbh i’m not the type to sweat that kind of thing 🕺🏻 i do like to Go Out and do things w my s/o no matter who they are but a date doesn’t always have to be going out nor does it have to be a Special going out yk??

3. what kind of dates would you two mostly go on? do you have a “date spot?”

i mentioned this in my answer for 24, but w kuchi we have this ritual of going out to eat every friday and after we get together that doesn’t change!!! if we’re feeling extra lazy we might order takeout but we always always spend our friday nights together... it’s def smth we look forward to even Before we start dating (and it’s smth we both wonder Why we anticipate before we get tgt)

in terms of a date spot? we have our favorite places (like the ramen joint i mentioned in 24) but other than that maybe a few other restaurants and that’s kinda it! our other dates are the occasional study date but i cannot study when he’s around,, just looking at his face pisses me off 😃 nah but we can’t focus on school together + we’d get heated over a meaningless argument and get kicked out NDNSJSJ

when we get domestic w each other (like in uni or beyond) kuroo and i have all our dates at the grocery store... idk abt you but the INTIMACY of buying groceries w someone you love is so [clenches fist] yk?? but before and sometimes after that point rlly it’s like Things To See and Things To Do whenever kuroo puts himself in charge of planning it bc he knows we both like to be engaged and have fun!! (i alr said it but our date spot is the grocery store <3)

4. what kind of date do you think the both of you would enjoy the most? why?

that’s a very good question... i mentioned it alr but kuroo and i vibe heavy w things that are engaging and give us things to talk about while we keep busy,, like maybe an amusement park or smth w all the rides (we’re definitely spinning the shit out of the teacups) mostly bc i think he likes being kept on his toes and i do too! i think we’d challenge each other to do better by setting an example for the other to follow just in general,, also ngl places w a lot of ppl are good too so we can peoplewatch,, the two of us are the type to read people with a glance and when we need downtime we’d sit down somewhere and just kinda . 👁👁 yk

when it comes to kuchi, i think he’d like smth where we would end up competing against each other! i mentioned this when i answered question 50, but kenji and i are almost TOO competitive over stupid shit so smth like laser tag (where everyone is like ... why don’t you want to work together aren’t you DATING) would be SO fucking fun

“it’s not too late to surrender,” he simpers, my body sandwiched between his and the wall. my gun’s been knocked out of my hand—that’s gotta be against the fucking rules—and part of me feels like i’m on a real battlefield, as fleeting the thought is. “some battles, you just can’t win.” he punctuates this statement with a sage nod, leaning so close his breath fans against my face. “so, what’ll it be?”

i close the gap, pressing my lips against his and relishing in the strangled groan that comes from the back of his throat as he reciprocates, free hand moving to the nape of my neck. the hand holding the gun drops. that’s all the opening i need.

i let him deepen the kiss, take his bottom lip between my teeth and gently tug as my hands reach for his gun while his brain is still between his legs.

i’m the last one standing, and the lights turn on around us. “it’s always good to have goals,” i tell him, granting him a consolation peck to the lips. “but i suggest making them more realistic next time.”

9. what do you think your first impression of them would be?

now THIS is a question i knew the answer to going in bc my best friend (honestly she doesn’t get paid enough ,, or at all ,, for all the shit she has to put up w from me NDNSKSK) had to hear all abt my elaborate fantasies regarding these two but!!

my first impression of kuroo is 1) 😳😳 and more importantly, 2) I Want To Know What He’s About... bc he’s not the kind of person i’d get the full picture of w just one look and maybe a few words spoken? he’d pique my interest a LOT (and this is smth he shares w tsukishima, tho i don’t see myself in a long lasting relationship w him like i do w kuroo and kuchi!) and i’d end up worming my way into his life whether he likes it or not until i find out :-)

unlike kuroo i see kenji and go Wow. What An Asshole. ok no i don’t NDNSJSN i probably think he’s cute first THEN go what an asshole and there’s definitely a long period of time where we’re genuinely getting on each other’s nerves before it goes into the romantic relationship-adjacent dynamic you see in my answer to 24!

10. what do you think their first impression of you would be?

kuroo’s definitely curious. i don’t imagine him being unable to see thru me from the start but i prove myself to be Good Conversation so he’s fine (and ends up being more than fine) with me bothering him as much as i do. kenji probably sees me the way i think most people see me at first? very soft and sweet ,, and then he tries to rile me up, tries to test the waters and pretty quickly finds out that right under the nice girl is someone that won’t hesitate to mirror the shit he tries to dish out.

(again) 24. would you confess first or would they? how would it have gone?

callum dealing with ben’s self destructive behaviours:

ben has had like every self destructive behaviour going at different times in his life but the ones that worry callum the most are his excessive drinking when he’s in a bad place emotionally (esp after ben confesses that one of his biggest fears is that he’ll end up like his dad), his insistent, reckless criminal activity (bc it so often is reckless and also completely stupid) and his self esteem issues leading to self sabotage when it comes to their relationship (bc ben thinks he’s Terrible and that callum deserves better and so will try to push him away to prevent himself from being hurt in the long run (it never works))

and when they first get into a relationship callum feels like he can’t pull ben up on it.... like he doesn’t have the right... and also he’s scared of pushing ben away or pissing him off, leading to them breaking up or smth so for a while he just keeps his mouth shut and does his best to pick up the pieces after the fact

but after a while callum gets frustrated with it and eventually starts calling ben out about it - passing comments at first, but they (and he) eventually become more serious and he becomes less willing to let ben get away with doing his reckless bullshit

and it’s not until ben is doing some dodgy job (for his dad, which somehow makes it worse) and not only ends up black and blue, but also barely ends up outrunning the police that callum really, truly loses his shit. like it all comes tumbling out - everything he thinks, everything he feels in one long, endless stream while ben is sat on the couch nursing his bleeding forehead and potentially broken ribs.

callum tells him that he thinks he’s an idiot, first and foremost. ‘still doing all these stupid jobs for your dad, and for what? to prove a point? to prove you’re capable? that you’re a ‘real man’? it’s bullshit, ben. most of the time the only reason he calls up or comes around is because he wants something from ya, how have you not realized that by now? and now look at ya. look at the state you’re in. you think it does lexi any good, seeing you like this? you don’t even need to do these jobs, ben - you’ve got the arches, you’ve got the car lot; it’s not like you need the money. so what is it, ben? the thrill of it? or do you just like being being beaten up? is that it?’

ben tries to argue back, but callum is On One and he’s not having any of it

‘and what now- what, are you gonna drag yourself to e20 and drown your sorrows for the rest of the night? or am i the one who’s gonna have to get you something to drink? some liquid courage before you go and tell phil you’ve messed his job up?’

and that’s when callum sort of stops and really looks at ben. and ben looks fucking pitiful, sitting there. he looks destroyed by callum’s words. callum sits down on the opposite side of the room, suddenly feeling drained.

‘you can’t keep doing this. i can’t keep doing this - i think you’re alright and then all of a sudden you’re going off on one again and no one ever knows where you are, what you’re doing, who you’re with and it- it scares me, ben. my phone rings and i’m scared that it’s gonna be the police, or a hospital, or worse.’ ‘alright, callum.’ ‘no it’s not alright! what if you had been caught today, ay? you’ve got previous, ben, you’d end up in prison-’ ‘alright!’ ‘-do you think lexi deserves that? only seeing her dad once a week during visitation, a table between you?’ ‘enough!’

and if ben didn’t look broken before, he certainly does now. looks fucking shattered.

‘i don’t want to lose you, ben. not to prison or to anything else.’

ben just beckons him over and callum practically folds himself into ben’s side (gently, bc ben is hurt). bc he’s angry, yes, but he’s also so, so relieved ben is here and not in some cell or a hospital bed. or worse. and ben just kisses his head and tries to think.

and you know, those stern words don’t fix everything, but ben certainly heard the message loud and clear. he tries to be better - only take the less risky jobs, always checks in with callum so he knows he’s alright. still drinks, but gets drunk less.

baby steps.

ben dealing with callum’s self destructive behaviours:

callum doesn’t really have self destructive behaviours in the same sense as ben - he’s more prone to just straight up self sabotage, though it’s not necessarily deliberate? like often he’ll do it without even realizing he’s doing it

like his relationship w ben - callum doesn’t really know how to be in a proper relationship! his only proper relationship was with whitney and then he would basically follow her lead and do whatever she wants bc he a) was inexperienced and b) was gay and keeping like a huge part of himself secret from her. so he’s used to staying quiet to keep the peace, probably thinks that’s normal. 

but ben hates it. hates that callum feels like he has to keep secrets or pretend he’s ok when he’s not just to keep ben happy. hates that he thinks that that’s how relationships work. and ben doesn’t really blame callum and doesn’t really get angry at him, but he does get frustrated bc callum doing all of that does lead to problems in their relationship.

and like ben just wants to help callum! but he can’t help when he doesn’t know what’s wrong! or that there even is anything wrong! because callum is so used to keeping secrets and having to hide who he is and how he truly feels away! and that’s something that they both kind of have to work on: ben has to learn to not get so frustrated abt the whole thing bc that just makes it worse, and callum has to work on being more open and honest about whatever’s bothering him, about the past, about his ptsd etc. and they do try, bc they both realize that if they don’t, their relationship is not going to work - callum especially.

and also extension to that: i’ve said it a million times but callum is too nice for his own good and that will lead him to spreading himself too thin just to keep everyone happy and/or to help everyone out, even when it means doing things he doesn’t really want to do (they’re complete opposites in that sense - there are a few exceptions but 95% of the time ben ain’t doin shit for no one unless there’s smth in it for him lmao). and that frustrates ben!! he’s like ‘who tf are you working so hard for! who are you stressing yourself out for! why are you overworking yourself to do extra shifts at the albert when you don’t even work there!!! you ain’t even gettin paid!!! like i know she’s my mum but she’s taking liberties!!!’

like it really frustrates ben to no end and he’s always telling callum that he needs to learn to say no to people bc he really will work himself into the ground one of these days and ben quite likes him where he is

but yeah apart from that? i don’t think callum has any other self destructive behaviours. literally he’s such an angel that the only self destructive behaviours are the fact that he’s so nice and wants so badly to help other people and keep everyone around him happy, even if it’s to his own detriment!!!

Having clear bookbags is not a good option because some people have comfort items theyll get picked on for and people who start their period early get picked on (i know from experience, trust me).

SO the complaint at the forefront of my mind is marco. i hate hate hate most of how marco has both been characterized and treated since like? i think end of s2 thereabout? so like when they ruined the Let Girls And Guys Have Friendships that aren’t shitty romance....did not age well let me tell you. also i think part of that is also when the staff acknowledged trans marco and tried to do it positively but ended up sucking. you know That whole mess with the episode where princess marco was forced to “come out’ “”as a boy”” to the other princesses from that revolution she became the figurehead of even though it was something that rly shouldn’t have ever mattered and they had the weird thing with miss heinous (same note but dont quite like where the plot is going w heinous and eclipsa bc of that despite me and my heavy eclipsa bias) i mean! marco is good the anxious lawful counterpart to star’s chaotic adhd energy they’re good friends and it just gets totally thrown out the window when A- romance BS adds unnecessary drama that while not “ruins” but def fucks with their good vibes, B- the plot shifts more to focus on mewni and there was the whole “marco after the huge life change of having interdimensional adventures goes back to everyday Life On Earth, so marco has the > go to mewni idea” this WHOLEE part in quotes was done so bad and here’s why so like? the first part of this that ended up pissed me off and i havent stopped since was when marco came and the king/queen were like “oh...we didn’t think u actually would :/” and the cape he wore as like a token ended up being some throw away thing? like marco was ig being kind of on her high horse from helping to save another dimension but like....marco is baby. that’s just how teens are!! idk the whole thing was just kinda disrespectful and i don’t appreciate the othering treatment of marco by these white people as a latino character...might just be me but it’s icky. and like? i get the marco going to mewni thing was a way to incorporate her into the plot more bc the shift to mewni was important as the show’s main plot and conflict shifts into the mewni - monster politics territory. that’s all really important!! but they didn’t really even Need marco to be there other than the writer’s maybe though “oh star lived on earth for some now marco gets to too. deep!” if yr gonna do it this badly then no!! tbh i dont think marco has even been relevant in a lot of the episodes and plot things, and even then marco has the dimensional scissors marco could’ve still just popped in from time to time, even for extended stays! instead of dropping her whole life and schooling to just dick around. marco could still have the squire / learning martial abilities and more abt the magical world in order to assist thing too without this. hell she could’ve been given like a sideplot entirely separate from star abt learning more on the magical worlds on her own that could be another cool world building element! but no!! actually the fact that  theyve just Completely phased out earth as a plot point seems weird? like i get the focus on mewni and it makes sense but it’s still Weird that none of the other earth characters have rly been around or used at all idk...idk...... Like regarding how marco has been vaguely getting othered from what i remember, there was the ep where star tried to improve monster-mew relations w a dance and she’s Trying bc she’s Woke now and marco’s just kinda there for the ride?? like marco was the person who addressed this issue in the First Place and made star start questioning the system w the mewnian “battle” victory holiday episode i mentioned in the other post. Marco, high key lawful good, princess leader for a revolution of girls who don’t want to be forced to fit into the cookie cut molds and restrictions placed upon them at a young age. let them be feral ! we need more rowdy girls!! i dont remember the episode A Lot but i do know that marco being like...second fiddle to star on this issue, again w the white savior issues of star herself being the driving force of the issue, are all just really bleck and inconsistent writing is my two cents. and i’m Surprised i haven’t spoken abt it at length yet but the fucking Bad Romance Subplot....like it’s still unresolved technically?? like star likes marco but marco likes uhh janet or whatever, but then they break up and marco goes to mewni but now star is dating her ex bf who she explicitly broke up w bc they didn’t vibe and he has unresolved issues he’s still working through?? and they also genuinely don’t have any chemistry and now there’s a bad kinda-rivals for star even tho if this was better written they would have more respect for her as a person And each other tbh.....but if this was better written this wouldn’t be happening at all. and also that one bush head girl is there and Also might have a thing for marco??? what the fuck. i’m!! watching s3 ep17 now and it’s what sparked this whole thing but basically tom n star having a Moment and marco busts in w a Mission and tom is like..jealous or annoyed or whatever bc now marco and star are gonna do a Thing but tom is like hey yr a third wheel....even tho their adventuring is a Those Two Thing and tom literally has no interest in it!! like the mission is to find buff frog and marco is his friend and then marco leaves but when tom goes with star he doesn’t even care!! like they go to his house and can’t find him and he’s like “whelp we tried wanna get smoothies?” LIKE!! star is genuinely concerned abt her friend and he doesn’t even have enough respect to wanna try....put it on the back burner buddy!!  i genuinely liked tom b4 he started dating star again...like his whole character dev b4 this shit was Getting Over Her!! realizing he has personal issues he needs to work on, and maybe they’re just not compatible as people but they can still be friends! bc he’s lonely and needs a support system that can still deal w him when he relapses on his Issues and can call him out still. hell marco and her lawfulness helping him discover this and them Not being weird rivals for star and genuine not-friends-but-kinda-mutual-acquaintances-who-vent-on-each-other was good!  i’m gonna scream str8 people ruin literally everything. this whole post just ended being abt marco but tbh most of the show’s issues involve marco somehow....other issues i dont like is i think ludo gets too much screentime. he’s annoying and unnecessary so far!! it seems theyre trying to vaguely build up to something but they sure aren’t succeeding as far as i’m aware. also heckapoo’s design is shit...character concept cool actual character bad.

some more character info abt that thrilling intent au

Xin - has somehow managed to trick everyone (in the human world, at least) into thinking he’s a human, but nope; he is one hundred percent spirit folk, and one of the most powerful ones at that, too. He was mortal once, many many years ago, but through a similar process that Ashe is undergoing with her powers, he essentially became a God. He claims to be Ashe’s uncle, but he’s really like... Ashe’s great great great great uncle. Give or take a couple of greats. 

He is apart of Kyl’il’s goal to integrate the human world and spirit world. His cafe, The Ban Village, is mostly run by spirit folk disguising themselves as humans (such as Batty and Iggy). 

Zalvetta - Zalvetta’s life is.... more or less a Huge Mess.

He is Xin’s biological son, having been born from a human momther. This birth resulted in his mom’s death, which drove Xin into a severe depression. Technically, a child such as Zalvetta should never exist; he has all the powers of a spirit folk but the weak body of a human. 

Xin, overwhelmed with the death of his loved one, simply abandoned baby Zalvetta in the Spirit World before running off to the Human World.

Luckily for Zalvetta, he was discovered by a ragtag team of particularly weak spiritfolk who took him in. Unfortunately, Zalvetta’s spirit powers were more or less eating him alive. Usually in cases like this, these powers can be contained with bindings (which is how Ashe is able to withstand these powers. and Zeke). However, bindings are hard to come by, and this ragtag team of spiritfolk didn’t have the wealth or resources. Because of this, these spirit folk had to do some intense experiments and soul-twisting just to keep him alive, from infanthood to childhood (these memories leave Zalvetta with a lot of trauma; he doesn’t blame these spiritfolk for what they did bc it saved his life, but it leaves some tough lingering memories; hes incredibly uncomfortable with hospitals and hates being touched without permission). Basically, Zalvetta is barely keeping himself together

Growing up, Zalvetta survived off the wilderness with his spirit folk ‘family’, learning to live off the land and slaying any creatures that got in his way. It wasn’t the best life, but Zalvetta lived it fairly well. Naturally, Xin had to come and ruin it all

When Zalvetta was a teenager, Xin showed up. Seemingly remorseful for ditching his only son, Xin took Zalvetta back, promising to be a better dad. This pissed Zalvetta off for SO many reasons (his dad just took him back like he had the right??? And took him away from his REAL family??? And zalvetta is pretty sure that Xin has an ulterior motive for taking him back) but didn’t have much of a choice

Now, Zalvetta lives with his dad, as well as Xin’s roommate Horovan (both of whom Zalvetta hates with all of his hate) and attends high school and is dealing with the most sudden case of culture shock (when Ashe comes into the picture, this culture shock is one of the only things that they bond over) (also their mutual hate for Xin)

anyways one day he befriends Gregor (a sweet boy whos on the rival soccer team, and like the only one who can keep up with zalvetta) and he’s like one of the 3 things that Zalvetta holds dear in this world

(sometimes, he’s asked to join Markus, Ashe and Gregor on their spirit jobs. Not super often, since he’s such a wildcard, but when they need a super sneaky boy like him)

Zeke (and kyrlos) - Like Zalvetta, he’s half spiritfolk/half human, too. He’s actually the son of one of the most powerful spiritfolk to date, giving Zeke a lot of power. Zeke used to abuse this power, harassing spirit folk and being a general nuisance. However, after many years to look back on his younger self, he regrets how he used to be, and now works as a yoga instructor in the Human World, and is still working on his anger issues

Through his job, he met Kyrlos, who worked as a self defense instructor in the same building as his yoga sessions, albeit at different times. This led to a friendly rivalry, which led to Kyrlos attending Zeke’s yogas classes out of ‘spite’, which led to Zeke attending his class to return the favor, which led to a friendship, then mutual pining, then both of them showing off in their respective classes to get the others’ attention, and then, naturally, this all led to them smooching behind the building they work at

Some time into their relationship, Zeke told Kyrlos about his past, about spirit folk in general. Kyrlos is pretty confused by it all, but is supportive as all hell. Zeke’s taken Kyrlos on vacations to the Spirit World, and in return, Kyrlos shows Zeke the best that the Human World has to offer

At some point in time, they find out about Gregor; the young teenaged orphan who lost TWO families thanks to spirit folk. Zeke wants to take him in, mostly due to guilt. Kyrlos is so fucking on board, because he’s also a human surrounded by weird spirit junk, and he and Gregor could bond over that. They adopt Gregor with gusto, and while he may not quite see them as ‘dads’, he enjoys them a Lot. Kyrlos was already a gym teacher where Gregor goes to school, and is his soccer coach. On top of being his coach, Kyrlos is always giving Gregor fighting lessons. Gregor also does early morning yoga stretches with Zeke, as well as the occasional knitting session. They’re a big happy family (and when Gregor starts to work for Kyl’il, they couldn’t be prouder or more supportive)

Kyrlos and Xin have always had an intense rivalry, ESPECIALLY when their sons are on opposite soccer teams (despite Gregor and Zalvetta getting along almost Instantly). Kyrlos (and Zeke, to an extent) go on about how Xin’s whole bloodline are  garbage (once, he says something like this in front of Ashe; Gregor makes an attempt to stop him, but Ashe is grinning happily like “no no let him keep going”). There’s no real bite to Kyrlos’s words, though; he supports Gregor’s friendship with Zalvetta, he’s just fueled off of rivalry

However, when Kyrlos and Zeke learn of Zalvetta’s true origins, they’re nothing if not supportive and borderline doting. The extra attention is weird to Zalvetta, and he acts like its the worst thing ever. Still, after this point, Zalvetta pretty much spends all his time at Gregor’s place
