WHAT IS THIS AU? HOW DOES IT WORK?
A brief (I'm lying, this is a long post) explanation post for this AU for anyone new <3
As I've mentioned before, this AU is based on the theory that Papyrus is (was) Gaster. I did not create this theory, it has existed for a long time nd I'm also not the first person to do something like this with the concept—I'll touch up on that later.
About the Papyrus is Gaster theory
I've looked up a lot of stuff about it but I don't actually know where it originated. It's not super popular but if you're a Papyrus theorist you might have heard of it before!
It is not a super serious theory, it's more about pointing out the weird connections and similarities between Papyrus and Gaster and giving an explanation to the many weird things about Papyrus and his lack of backstory.
Just to mention some things:
Them both speaking in capital letters, having no asterisks, their weird way of phrasing things, Papyrus being described as forgettable, Papyrus hating hotland, him pretending he doesn't know about a lot of stuff ( The lab for example, he know what a lab is but pretends he doesn't in front of Sans), Gaster being related to hands and Papyrus never taking his gloves off, Papyrus weird connection with phones (his photo-graphic memory for phone calls) and Gaster's weird connection to phones(Fun events related to phones, and getting the garbage noise when using the phone in a darkwolrd), their love for puzzles (The CORE is a giant puzzle), THAT one quote that I still find misterious “beside, it’s rude to talk about people that are listening, right? not everyone is as though as my brother”, Papyrus DOES have Gaster blasters it's pretty much canon even if a lot of people ignore it, Papyrus is very smart—he's knowledgeable on many subjects and knows how to build many things— he's the character with the MOST dialogue in the game yet we don't know a lot of stuff about him OR his past, he breaks the laws of physics and of the game, and he's not yet in deltarune! The heavily Gaster connected game!
That's some of the things I could think about, and look, yeah... I'm probably looking way too much into it and these are all just coincidences! The weird Papyrus things can be related to other stuff! But I still like this theory, not because I think it's real but because I LOVE the possibilities!!!
About how this AU works
This au is basically a
"Pretend this theory is real! How would the Undertale timeline work then?"
We're giving Papyrus his backstory while also making a Gaster-focused story at the same time!
This AU imagines how the Papyrus is Gaster theory situation could play out! (And I'll also add some of my other favorite ut theories as a treat)
Papyrus used to be Wingdings and then Wingdings shattered across time and space, Papyrus and Gaster are different separate people.
Actually I kind of, treat Wingdings before and after the accident as different people also... you change a lot when you become an omnipresent being....Wingdings, Gaster and Papyrus I treat them all as different people.
"How did Gaster become Papyrus?"
He didn't "become" Papyrus just like that. After he shattered, he stopped existing the way he did before, he became a being in another layer of the game! But! physically his body was just there...
This is based on how the Goners and Gaster followers have counterparts that are not, uh, goners. A non-distorted version of them existing separately
Papyrus was just kind an empty shell at first. He still kept parts of Wingdings original personality but his Papyrus personality developed on his own with time!
"How did Gaster shatter across time and space?"
Usually everyone agrees it was because he fell into the CORE
Not here! I don't think the CORE caused his accident, it is a power source not a time and space altering machine. In this story, it was some other thing he was working on....
If you have more questions you can check the frequently asked questions post or send me an ask <3!!
About similar content!
I've seen some people tell me this is a good idea for an AU and I agree!! I love this idea SO much, but as I said before I didn't create this concept or theory I just love it a lot!!
I really thought there would be more people that used this concept before but I couldn't find much... so I'm just making it myself!
One of my goals is to make other people like this idea as well and for them to make their own takes on it!
If you also like this concept as much as I do, here's a section with some inspirations for this AU that are also "Papyrus is Gaster" focused
First, you all should really see "I know that I know nothing" by Linssins
It's because of this comic that I discovered that theory in the first place! And really loved the concept. It's my main inspiration.
Unfortunately the comic is unfinished. If you see it, you will definitely see how I took inspiration... Still, the story in this AU is a very different take on the theory, it goes on a different path
Another inspiration was @askthesciencesquad ! This comic is paused but it's also a Papyrus is Gaster comic!
I was very happy to find it, it is also a very different take on the concept but I liked where it was going.
#forgettable-au#undertale au#papyrus!gaster#papyrus is gaster#undertale#HEHEHEHE#I FEEL LIKE I'M MISSING SOMETHING VERY OBVIOUS BUT EH#I hope this is a good explanation? I'm not sure if it is...#but you all tell me if there's something you need clarification on

i Know Your Home Town Heroes Are The DOOM PATROL so i Have to Aks
How did The team Go form This

( Old time Superhero team With a Uniform )
to This

( They look like a 70s or 80s Punk band )
to This?
( Back With a New uniform )
and Why to They Have so Many links to the titans?
just Whats Up With DOOM PATROL
( i Aks With to so Them Being Your Home Town Heroes i Think? And i found i lot Of posters for Them at My Uesd Things shop i Go to a lot )
The Doom Patrol are an...interesting case because they're not superheroes in the traditional sense. at least not by choice. The original members, Cliff Steele, Larry Trainor and Rita Farr were all brought together by terrible accidents that left with with fantastical abilities, yes but also left them mutated or otherwise scarred in a way that set them apart from humanity. Cliff was a former race car driver whose brain was transferred into a robot body after a crash left his old body in ruins. Trainor was a military pilot whose experimental guidance system sent him sailing through a dangerous radiation belt And Farr was an actress exposed to strange vapors on a movie set that granted her the ability to alter her size at will. They were offered what seemed to be safe harbor by a genius scientist Dr Niles Caulder who was, in reality, the architect of the accidents that mutated them all in the first place. Bringing them together as The Doom Patrol he sent them out on suicidally dangerous missions against various supervillains and scientific menaces, most often the members of the Brotherhood of Evil whose leader The Brain was actually the original victim meant to be implanted into the Robotman body until his intelligent gorilla companion was able to spirit him away. Their clashes eventually leading to a showdown off the coast of the town of Codsville, Maine where the heroes were seemingly killed by a blast of their greatest enemies' ultimate weapon. That was not to be their end, though. However as time went on, especially after Caulder's treachery was discovered, the Doom Patrol really became a supportive family group for those who had been effected by his ethical lapses in one way or another. Even beyond that they become embroiled in all the weirdest, strangest and most metaphysical threats possible. They became a refuge for, well for lack of a better term, the weirdos. Those whose powers are too obtuse, or whose powers are matched with sufficiently virulent if mundane mental illness that they had nowhere else to go. In the aftermath of the Lazarus Rains, they've become a group seeking out those who have been empowered by the disaster and offering them safe haven away from the public eye. They're forced into the spotlight because of their powers, which in their cases usually seem closer to a disability than a gift. Though they are respected and trusted by other members of the superhero community especially because one of their earliest inductees, Garfield Logan (yes, the one from Space Trek too) became super, globally famous both as an actor and as a member of the Teen Titans. They're...reclusive is the wrong word. They just want to be left alone, operative more as a support group than a willing superhero team. Which is why I use their real names rather than the superhero names they've been given over time by the media. If you or someone you know has a metahuman ability and a comorbidity with some kind of mental or physical disability, their contact information is publically available.

having a hard time explaining grimdark and trickster to a friend
think you can help?
they get godtier just fine but the other two keep confusing them because right now they think
grimdark = chaos in anarchy sense, but trickster = chaos in haha funny meme sense
Sure, let me see…
GRIMDARK mode is described by Doc scratch as “going completely off the deep end in every way”.
It turns your skin an unnatural dark gray, and in rose’s case to be surrounded by a dark aura, while jade had a spacey green aura.
It’s basically a black magic power up deeply connected to the horroterrors, a state of mind that comes from letting them influence a broken mind. For Rose, it was the death of her mother, and then trying to reveal the horror terror’s secrets. For Jade, she was heartbroken, but also she got mind controlled into entering the grimdark state by the condesce, who is also connected to the horrorterrors.
As an extra, Hussie described Eridan as also going into grimdark when he began murdering people, tho his case must’ve been more symbolical, as he presented the perfect scenario to become grimdark, the complete loss of hope, waiting for Jack to kill them all (due to his title being prince of hope, ergo Destroyer of hope) added to Feferi breaking their moiraliance talking with Sollux, being the detonator for his broken mind, and him being a Derse player, so his dream self was around the horroterrors and had interacted with them prior, he was also interested in magic like rose, had a wand just like her and sought for answers about, like her. He just lacked the connection to the horroterrors in that crucial moment.
So Grimdark is basically when the horroterrors cause the player's most primal and violent tendencies to be pushed to the forefront
The grimdark is also described a “the fabled blackdeath trance of the woegothics”. So a dark trance that people like Rose and Eridan are inclined to fall victim of (in my opinion)
TRICKSTER mode, in the other hand, is described by Calliope as something that brings out your full potential, that brings all your walls down and puts all your inner thoughts in the outside and all your creative power in your hands. It strips you from all social and mental barrier.
It gives you reality altering Powers, allowing you to jump from place to place, probably dimension hopping, manifest objects and makes you super happy and candy colored to the point of losing grip in reality
The problem is that cherubs are very different from humans. For a cherub, who is supposed to fly around in the endless space protecting/destroying a certain part of the void, and its inhabited planets, feeding of black holes, fighting entities to death to ultimately mate in the shape of a big ass snake, a juju that’s basically drugs that can make you forget every wall you built up floating around space alone, and move forward as a happy missile ready to find a mate sounds good. But humans are social creatures, and cherubs are not. Cherubs don’t answer to anyone and don’t have Friends, they don’t need to follow any social cues. Humans built their relationships carefully, and they have secrets and barriers to protect themselves and others. They hide things like crushes and resentment and problems, because well, for the sake of peace, for the sake of not braking every relationship they have. That’s something that Calliope and Caliborn never fully grasped and understood why the kids came to hate the juju when they woke up
So that’s all I could gather. Essentially they are different kinds of power ups, opposite to one another at their core, BUT in both the person isn’t fully there and is being guided by primal instincts, be it rage/sadness or Hope/happiness and they both have consequences in the user because neither is supposed to be used on humans or even trolls.

their "i love you"s and other drabbles...

「 tws + notes: no tws, HEAVILY unedited, a little angst in sum partz but f it we ball (THERE'S SUMN WRONG W/ ME I NEVER DO THIS MUCH?), fluff, tried to add a lil bit of everyone, little thoughtz abt the characters,,, 」

↳ ft. ben reilly/scarlet spider, gwen stacy, hobie brown/spider-punk, jessica drew, lyla, margo kess, miles morales (1610 and 42), miguel o'hara/spider-man 2099, pavitr prabhakar, peter b parker, spider-man noir, and the spot/johnathan ohnn
「 gn!reader, romantic relationships <3 」
author's note: not my usual content but thought it wud b fun to whip up a few drabbles,, (´。_。`) diff format than usual too! all separate and stuff, w/ the characterz at the bottom being the ones the drabble applies to the most (ALL CAPZ MEANS I THOUGHT IT FIT THEM SUPER WELL!!!!) thought it wud b fun,,, altered lyrics are italicized, itz jus a pronoun change 2 make it gender neutral (❁´◡`❁) edit: my tags. do not fit. so i had to redo them. reblogz r super appreciated ^_^ i jus wanna make sure all fans of these characterz are being fed content <33

[ please don't forget about me - pompey ]
"and if you see me everyday / will I lose my shine?"
↳ always terrified of not being exciting and new to you– like one day, their appeal will fade. not like they understand what drew you to them in the first place, but they never asked. maybe you're just hanging around for the hell of it. maybe one day, they'll watch you leave and they'll have nothing to convince you to stay
"how many bad jokes will it take? / or awkward quiet times?"
↳ they wonder if they're already losing you slowly. everytime they speak to you, it's like they're trying to compensate for something. begging you to look at them– but not too close,,, just in case you notice how brutally flawed they are, beyond just the quirks you find endearing. maybe one day you'll look too deep into their eyes and you won't like what you see
▸ JOHNATHAN OHNN/THE SPOT, peter b parker

[ soft sounds from another planet - japanese breakfast ]
"i'll show you the way to hurt me"
↳ loving again is the biggest risk anyone who's been hurt like them could take. you make it worth the danger– the possibility of the pain they've grown all too familiar with. maybe for today, caution can be set aside. when it comes to you, they wouldn't mind letting their guard down.
"in search of a soft sound from another planet / in search of a quiet place to lay this to rest."
↳ they have to admit their past has burdened them in ways they can't even begin to communicate. they know you can't fix everything that has been broken in their lives. still, the comfort you provide is never taken for granted. you are their safe space– the soft sound from another planet. their quiet place to finally lay it all to rest. and suddenly, the aching in their chest doesn't eat them up inside as much as it used to.
you make it easy to love again.
▸ GWEN STACY, MIGUEL O'HARA/SPIDER-MAN 2099

[ our lullabye - miracle musical ]
"i was made for you / you were made for me"
↳ it's hard to believe that you're more than just a distant fantasy sometimes. they can't deny how much they've yearned for a love like the one you two share. something so sweet, so real. it's nothing like the movies or the fairytales, but is anything ever? even when things are messy and complicated, it's undeniable how perfect it all feels. how everything about the two of you just fits. they're inclined to thank every shooting star they've ever wished on, every birthday candle they've ever held their deepest desires in as they blew the flame out for the day you two met. by any manner of higher power or forces unseen to the human eye, they're certain fate was on their side to give them such a blessing.
"i'll love you 'till you're gone / our song goes on and on"
↳ they're determined to hold on as long as possible. all good things cannot last– but they try not to dwell on that thought. they hold onto the hope that you're the one thing that will stay. your love feels divine. radiant, in the way it overtakes them fully. they almost feel undeserving. so, no matter how small or how grand the action, they try to remind you every day, "i love you"s woven into their every being whenever you're around.
▸ lyla, SPIDER-MAN NOIR, johnathan ohnn/the spot

[ i will - mitski ]
"everything you feel is good / if you would only let you"
↳ sometimes they feel you holding back. they can't help but notice the tension in the room as you suppress the things you want to say, silence the thoughts in your head. they know it's not easy to be earnest all the time. but they love you– they care for you. and all they've ever wanted is for you to be authentic. if it's pure, how could it ever be wrong? maybe in your own time, you'll be able to unravel in front of them. they're by your side every step of the way. to finally have you open up to them– to be real, to be honest– it would mean the world to them. they want to show you they love every single part of you. they love you when you're upset, when you're crying, when you're angry– because it's you.
"so stay with me / hold my hand / there's no need / to be brave"
↳ they offer every reassurance they can give you. you no longer have to fend for yourself. those days of being alone are over. you can crumble apart if you need– there's no need for constant bravery anymore. you did such a good job picking yourself up, time and time again. now, they outstretch a hand to you, a silent way of saying, "let me help you this time."
▸ ben reilly/scarlet spider, gwen stacy, HOBIE BROWN/SPIDER-PUNK, JESSICA DREW, lyla, MILES MORALES (1610), PAVITR PRABHAKAR, PETER B PARKER tbh all of them but shhh

[ right side of my neck - faye webster ]
"you looked back at me once / but i looked back two times"
↳ absolutely smitten with you. it doesn't matter how hard you fell. they. fell. harder. and maybe it's not obvious to you. but they've never had someone who made them care so much. some part of them feels immature for feeling so in love,, like a school kid with a puppy crush. they find it ridiculous, how absolutely lovesick and enamoured they are with everything about you. whatever you feel and express towards them, they feel towards you three times as much. they try everyday to show it.
"the right side of my neck / still smells like you"
↳ you just seem to leave a part of you with them always. they can't ignore it– can't seem to escape your presence, even when you're not physically there. it felt like spiralling to insanity at first. but they've learned to appreciate it– find comfort in it, even. the way the smell of your shampoo lingers on the pillow they leant you when you stayed over, the way that the mug of tea (made just the way you like it) is still on the kitchen table from the morning after– you left your t-shirt once and you had to ask them directly for it back. they like keeping pieces of you near. it reminds them of how loved they are.
▸ BEN REILLY/SCARLET SPIDER, gwen stacy, HOBIE BROWN/SPIDER-PUNK, MARGO KESS, miles morales (1610 and 42), pavitr prabhakar, the spot/johnathan ohnn

[ you love me - kimya dawson ]
"but when i met you, right away, i knew / you would never, ever, ever hurt me"
↳ you're used to pulling away. leave before they can leave you, before they even try to make you miss them– but the second you met them? they were insistent on proving that they were harmless. they could never dream of hurting you. and they see as you pull away, scared to get too close– and yet, every single time, they open their arms back to you.
"and the road's still long but you come along / and you hold my hand, and you understand"
↳ "when you're ready" has become second place in their favourite three word sentences. they remind you of these words constantly.
"when you're ready" means they don't mind that it's not now. ""when you're ready" means it doesn't matter how long they have to wait for you, they will. when you're ready" is another form of "i love you"
▸ MARGO KESS, MILES MORALES (1610), pavitr prabhakar, PETER B PARKER, spider-man noir

[ (you) on my arm - leith ross ]
"i wanna buy you pretty little things / and never ever lie to you"
↳ wants something simple with you. craves a form of sweet, normalcy. the mundane tasks and events of life seem far more appealing to them when you're in the picture. no, they never really imagined ever having a quiet life, yet the hope for one with you lingered. to buy you little gifts, to be the best they could possibly be to you, to drive around with you for the hell of it. they're certain anything could be heaven if you were there to accompany them.
a quiet life sounds nice.
"i'd be better armed if you agreed to take it"
↳ having you on their arm just makes them feel secure. keeping you close while showing you off to the world– showing you've got each other. they're a bit sappy for little things like this. everywhere you go, they never fail to extend an arm out to you. something about you makes them feel safer than ever.
▸ jessica drew, miles morales (1610), MILES MORALES (42), peter b parker, SPIDER-MAN NOIR

[ peach scone - hobo johnson ]
"so I fall to ground, collect myself and get ready to take over your heart / or at least your spare time"
↳ they try so incredibly hard to be the one for you. no matter what they try, they just seem to fumble and mess it up. they stumble over their words when they try to compliment you, they get weak in the knees when they try to make a move, and no matter how much they spend deliberating, and deliberating– they've got no clue how to win you over. hopefully you find their clumsy attempts endearing. they're making a fool of themself. and maybe, they haven't really said anything yet– but they're happy to at least hang around you in the meantime
▸ BEN REILLY/SCARLET SPIDER, gwen stacy, MILES MORALES (1610), spider-man noir, the spot/johnathan ohnn

[ dan the dancer - mitski ]
" he liked them more than life itself / i'm sure "
↳ he was quiet in the way he expressed his adoration. still, he did everything he could to ensure you would never go unloved. the way he looks into your eyes, taking you in like you are the loveliest thing on earth... it's only fitting. you're his world. maybe in the silent moments, when his fingers gently brush your cheek, admiring you– you'd begin to understand this.
▸ MILES MORALES (42), MIGUEL O'HARA/SPIDER-MAN 2099

[ lover // over the moon - alice phoebe lou ]
"i'm a lover / i feel it now / i'm a lover / just never knew how"
↳ they don't even try to hide how much they enjoy your company. you're special to them– why would they try to hide that? at this point, whenever you feel arms wrap around you from behind, you've learned to see their grinning face when you glance over your shoulder. maybe they've never been particularly shy about most things,, but now they're just twice as loud. it's inexplicable, the things you do to them. they hadn't anticipated being so utterly soft,,, not like they're complaining

Feel free to ignore this, but I'm a disabled writer who tends to focus on representation in my works, and I came across your posts about having npd while doing research for a side character in a story of mine. I really appreciate you taking the time to write out a description of npd that shows the roots of the issues and the way they affect the people who have it rather than how outsiders perceive it. I just wanted to ask if there were any traits of npd that you personally would like to see in npd representation/ if you have any thoughts on how you'd like to see characters with npd represented in media? I know at current there's basically no positive npd rep, which sucks for sure, but in a hypothetical situation where there was a character with npd who wasn't villianized for it, what sort of aspects of npd would be comforting for you to see reflected in a story?
Once again, feel free to ignore this ask if I'm overstepping at all, and I hope you have a wonderful day <3
Hi!! ♡ Apologies for the late reply, I wasn't on tumblr for a few days, then my alter was out for the next couple days and I wanted to be the one to respond-
I really appreciate that you're taking the time to research and create thoughtful representation, and I'm glad my posts could offer some help with that!
My first two thoughts are:
Characters whose symptoms present differently than the common portrayal of NPD
It's super common for people to not recognize NPD because they have this very limited view of what it is and how it can present - so it would be nice to see representation that shows variety in the way it can manifest.
For example, it's actually very common for someone with the disorder to primarily "lash in" rather than "lash out", but I never see that represented (intentionally, at least).
There's also a very limited perception of narcissistic characters being blatantly arrogant, grandiose, braggy, selfish, power-hungry, etc. But really, there's an unlimited number of ways someone can present outwardly, because the only thing that's crucial to the diagnosis is the internal experience - how it affects the person who has it. How they appear outwardly to others can vary wildly.
(I'll admit, some of these "stereotypical NPD" characters feel very relatable due to shared symptoms and vibes and power fantasies. To the extent that I have one of them as my pfp on some accounts lol. But if you met me IRL, my vibes are just "confident and bubbly, polite, quiet and distant, fashion-oriented, straight A student, cutesy, braggy, adventurous", and I always make the effort to be kind to people even though I can be somewhat distant and goal-oriented.)
It's also common to think of someone "flying into a rage" when they feel criticized - but anger (whether external or internal) isn't an inherent part of it. The issue is that someone perceives criticism as a threat, so their fight/flight/freeze/fawn response kicks in, and there's a large multitude of ways that can show up.
(Personally, I go into either fight or fawn mode. But the vast majority of the anger I've felt has been entirely self-directed, manifesting in the form of self-criticism, self-hatred, self-destruction, overworking, eating disorders, etc. I will occasionally feel outwards anger, but when I do, I give myself time and space to process it by myself so that I don't upset anyone. And even for those who feel external anger much more often than I do, it doesn't mean they'll express it in an aggressive or harmful way.)
tldr; I'd love to see a variety of outwards presentations, with the NPD being shown via their internal experience, rather than only displayed through stereotypical external behaviors.
2. Humanization for characters with NPD who make mistakes
People with NPD are human just like everyone else, which means that mistakes happen. Everyone accidentally fucks up, hurts someone, lacks self-awareness in certain areas, etc.
The level and type of interpersonal struggles, and the reasons behind these struggles, are all across the board. That's understood with any other disorder (or any sort of identity), but there's so much extra baggage and stigma applied when NPD is involved for some reason.
So for characters with NPD with higher interpersonal conflict, I'd want them to be humanized in the same way that anyone else with any other identity would be humanized. And I'd also want it shown that characters who don't have NPD can have high interpersonal conflict as well, that it's not limited to this disorder.
"what sort of aspects of npd would be comforting for you to see reflected in a story?"
In terms of specific aspects-
Personally, I'd love to see a character who like... tries to be perfect. Is externally very put-together in some way - maybe they're very kind and soft-spoken and sweet, or they're silly and happy and energetic, or they're quiet and serious and protective, or calm and mysterious and self-assured, doesn't matter. But everything seems okay on the surface.
But internally, they put so much pressure on themself. They hold themself to impossible standards, and feel like they HAVE to be seen a certain way and never show weakness. They have to handle everything perfectly. Just... so many symptoms and struggles that are hurting them internally, and overtime it ends up bubbling out in small ways, or like. Tbh I'd love it if someone would just... notice.
Notice the perfect bubbly happy straight-A student who's always kind and never shares their own opinions. Notice the quiet, highly-skilled protector of the group who somehow always knows the right thing to say and the right way to act.
And give them permission to be imperfect. To be human. Show them that they aren't their reputation or their skills or how impressive they are, they're so much more than that.
They can see the pain they're in, and instead of treating them as this untouchable perfect being, they treat them in a human way.
The super bubbly character seems completely unaffected by recent tragedy? Okay. Their friend doesn't ignore that. They don't push and prod, but they don't ignore it. They sit with them, spend time with them, hold them, they know it affected them.
I'm imagining a scene where the character w/NPD fucks up somehow, and they seem fine, but someone close to them suddenly Realizes and they just. Go to find them. And they're just having a massive breakdown, but the moment they see their friend, they quickly try and shove everything under the surface and act cool and unaffected and "normal", but their friend goes over and just holds them and. Ungh. 10/10
Couple months ago I did actually see an episode of a show like that, and both times I watched it, I bawled my fuckin eyes out lol.
Different people may have different answers in terms of what they'd feel most comforted by, but for me personally, I'd love this so much, because this is how I present and I desperately want to be Seen and Loved and have someone see my self-worth as being inherent and not tied into how "perfect" I am.
Closing thoughts:
Personally, there's not much that I'd feel offended by. To be honest, in addition to characters who fit the above points (various presentations, average-level interpersonal conflict, etc.), I also write characters who have that "stereotypical" presentation. I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as it's not done maliciously, especially if there's other types of characters shown. (Similar to having both gay villains and gay protagonists or side characters, y'know)
The only thing I'd dislike / that would hurt my feelings is like... seeing a character be heavily demonized for their traits*, or the only characters with NPD being horribly abusive, or the usage of stigmatizing language (aka, if the character is spoken about the way buzzfeed articles speak about us).
*aka, demonized for the symptoms. Totally fine if someone does something shitty and it's pointed out as being shitty / if people dislike them for that lol.
Hopefully this isn't getting too long, but to give an example of what I mean, something I saw that did hurt my feelings was like-
There was an episode of a show where a character got super braggy and confident, and was relishing in the praise and admiration she was getting. Hinging her self-worth on that recognition and success. And her friends got annoyed and pissed off, simply because she was braggy. There were a couple of things here and there she did that were kind of insensitive, but that was never really pointed out or seen as the main issue, it was only her bragging that was being demonized for some reason.
And then her friends all ganged up behind her back and did something to intentionally trigger a crash and make her feel insecure and terrible about herself, all to "knock her down a peg". And the narrative framed that as being justified, framed her friends as being correct in this situation. They never once showed concern for her mental health or the fact that she was hinging her self-worth on other people's opinions of her, they tore her down for her bragging instead of either a) supporting and uplifting her, or b) showing concern for unhealthy mindsets, and they never even tried to approach her or communicate with her about the things she was doing that actually were insensitive.
Hopefully that wasn't too much of a tangent lol, but that's the type of thing I mean by "being demonized for their traits". Hate when all a character is doing is bragging and feeling good about themself and the narrative frames them in an extremely negative light for it :(
Okay I will wrap up the post here as it's already pretty long, but hopefully this helped a bit!! Thank you for the question, and good luck with your writing! ^^

Do yall know how many powers Danny acc has in the show
Cus I looked at the page from the Fandom, and I counted like 52 (including some I didn't believe in or had other explanations)
Let me list them here
1. Intangibility
2. Invisibility
3. Flight
4. Cryokinesis (ice)
5. Ghostly wail
6. Overshadowing
7. Ghost rays
8. Ghost sense
9. Healing
10. Reconstruction
11 - 18. Super strength, speed, durability, agility, balance, endurance, stamina, reflexes
19. Fuse two halves together - fuse with other ghosts
20. Gravity Manipulation (only on himself)
21. Back slide
22. Space travel
23. Repulsion Field
24. Energy strike
25. Ghost shield
26. Energy constructs
27. Power absorption
28. Energy absorption
29. Electrokinesis (electricity)
30. Power augmentation
31. Ghost stinger
32. Thermokinesis (temperature) [I was 50/50 on it- don't rly count it but I'll put it here]
33. Photokinesis (light)
34. Telekinesis
35. Restoration (only inanimate)
36. Technopathy - potential (dan used it)
37. Exorcism
38. Dream Invasion
39. Fusion
40. Pyrokinesis (fire) [he makes ectoplasmic fire at one point don't question it - I didn't]
41. Duplication
42. Spectral Body Manipulation (can make himself swiss cheese)
43. Plasticity
44. Size alteration
45. The void (not a Canon power- Butch Hartman headcanoned it for dp - thank u @madametamma )
46. Paranormal immunity
47. Vacuum resistant
48. Aural shock
Now some are very similar and for a lot of the kinesis (kinesi?) Only had like one small instance so they're a possible power (like making stuff melt or using ectofire- and that's not even counting the one time he had weather powers albeit temporarily)
Oh, and yes, I did count each super human ability as its own (strength, speed, endurance, etc.). My logic was if a superhero had a singular one of those and it was counted as a power (super strength, most common example), then it should be counted as separate ones for danny, too.
Anyways, the fanfic writers should go insane with this list.
It's insane.
Here's the link for it
#danny phantom#danny fenton#BAMF danny phantom#powers#super human abilities#now i get what the fanfics meant by “i got a new power every week”#i understand when the fanfics say danny loses track of the amount of powers#i wouldnt know what to do with all this#danny phantom is op#dp#danny phantoms super power list#good luck#im going to have a lot of fun with electrokinesis <3#anyone who explores and uses this list and writes smth please tag me i love reading

Video game console and case design
Today's hyperfixation is on the PLAYSTATION 5. Because I want one, but I really shouldn't buy one, so I am just looking up everything to do with games consoles and burning my brain out.
I used to be a proper xbox player, until I got my PC, then I never really touched by xbox again. I got a PS4 to play Persona 5 and since then it's been a blu ray player for my Adventure Time boxset, not much else. But the current gen - PS5, Series X - is arguably more powerful than my gaming PC, and I still have a lot of friends stuck on PS5, so I am considering investing in a unit.
Anyway is it me or did they really shit the bed with design in this generation?
Look at these chunky fuckers! They do not fit smoothly under your television at all. There is no detail or decoration breaking up their unnecessarily large faces, which makes them look bland and ugly. They look like they're made of cheap plastic, with the two controllers being the highest quality thing about them. I can attest the xbox controller is unbeatable, but playstation really made their shot this generation. A shame I can never get used to the dualshock joystick positioning.
The Series S and the PS5 Slim are almost NO improvement on the base designs.
For some reason they made the Series S look like a speaker???
The new PS5 slim FINALLY has a line across that massive faceplate, but the half matte half glossed finish is not doing it any favours. I think it would've looked much better if, for example, the matte and gloss plates were different colours. Like black and white! It also has an even MORE out of place disc drive, which I think is part of Sony's agenda to go digital only, and the two tiny "feet" for its horizontal positioning are pathetic! Personally I like this more than the original but not significantly, disappointing since I was really looking forward to it.
I want you to compare these nasties to the previous generation - the PS4 and the XBOX One.
....Now, what's hilarious about this image is the consoles look ALMOST IDENTICAL from this angle. And, I guess, that would be why Sony and Microsoft decided to make such a departure with the space heater PS5 and the fridge Series X.
But they both look very premium and advanced, and they fit very nicely in your living room.
The companies tried to look a bit more distinguished in their followup versions in the previous gen too. The white PS4 Pro looks a lot closer to PS5 with its quirkiness, but without the atrocious shiny plastic. Sony tended to add or remove a layer whenever they altered the PS4, I wonder what they would look like all stacked on top of each other.
It's not just the games console designs that suffer - Look at the game cases! I know that the companies want to incentivise you to go digital, but Xbox Series X cases are just awful.
So if you're confused - You should be!!! Microsoft have two kinds of case for the Series X. One of them is the EXACT SAME CASE as Xbox One, but with Series X printed on the front. The second newer version foregoes the sexy Xbox logo entirely and just has Xbox Series X printed in some default font. Awful awful awful.
Playstation is doing better, but barely.
They are reusing PS4 cases with a different print on them. It doesn't look as horrible as Xbox's, and it at least has a different colour on the logo, but damn, the jump between PS3/360 and PS4/One was really impressive, and now they've stopped bothering because they want everyone to go digital. If your game cases look like shit, why bother with physical?
I want to contrast with physical media kings Nintendo, who did an outstanding job in 2017 with designing the case for the Nintendo Switch.
These bad boys are mine. They're super thin, easy to stack, decent quality, and F U N. The red colour pallette makes them pop out. You can see one from across the store and go, "damn, that's a Nintendo Switch game".
I just want a thousand of them.
I would say a disadvantage, especially compared to the Gamecube games next to them, and even compared to 3ds, is that you can't tell what game you're looking at without going right up to them. These cases are TOO uniform, and really tiny, so i have to triple check I am picking up Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and not Tony Hawk Pro Skater. Meanwhile you can tell exactly what Gamecube games I have by colour pallette alone. Like, you can instantly tell that's Windwaker.
The switch in general is a very fun looking games console, much nicer looking than its predecessor the Wii U, though I'm not sure how I feel about the white of the OLED. But every time I see a Switch Lite in stores, even though I know it's worse than my Switch, I want to buy one. It just looks so FUUUUUN.
And finally a special mention to the 3DS and its games case. The console itself was pretty stylish, if... rudimentary for its release period, but the games cases are high quality and almost make me want to have 3ds games just so I can have the cases.

Having Batman actually perform more mundane tasks and partake in more general detective work of collecting evidence, finding things that the police missed, etc etc, actually is a benefit and helps so much with grounding him and making him feel more human cuz that's what he is
he isn't a super-powered superhero. He's just a random human man who just happens to have money. His most common task is helping to deal with organized crime via the various gangs and mafias and such that have Gotham city in a choke-hold. And as colorful and crazy as some of his rogues gallery may be.. Penguin is the #1 alongside Two-Face when it comes to the organized crime thing. Even Joker qualifies as being the head of an "organized crime ring" thing. Just.. it's an organized mess, cuz that's how Joker functions. within chaos and mayhem.
Yeah it's cool to see Batman make an entrance and save the day and punch the bad guys and use his cool gadgets.
but Genuinely? I wish he was humanized a lot more. he isn't a god or a godlike being. he's just a human man with a wallet. his threats are earthly and real. they aren't really anything big and grand involving the world as a whole and the entirety of space, going beyond our earthly realm. Even with the likes of Bat-Mite.. Bat-Mite as far as I'm aware, has hardly had any real effect outside of mildly altering some of reality, but never was he truly a villain. just a minor nuisance.
Anyways, to make a long post short:
Caped Crusader is a great show of this. BTAS as well, and The Batman 2004 to a lesser extent. Cuz you get shots of them finding little bits of evidence and putting clues together. actually taking their time to try and figure things out. They aren't just constantly throwing bombs at everything haphazardly, they aren't always going in guns ablaze. You have shots of them being human and being vulnerable.
And that just means a whole lot to me, personally. It makes it a lot more enjoyable in general to watch and engage with these stories. They were real and human. Dealt with real and human issues. Just with a little bit of colorful paint.
#ghostie mumbles#when I see Batman with his little detective goggles. collecting evidence with tweezers and putting it in vials and bags for later--#--examination in the Batcave.. I get happy. finally. FINALLY seeing Batman do some detective work. actually living up to his title.#//long post#anyways I was watching a video about a btas episode and saw batman with detective goggles n stuff and man.. we need that more.

Superhuman Ranks & Categories + Info.
Superhuman Rankings & Categories:
In this world, superhumans—whether Descendants or Empowered—are classified based on two factors:
• Category – What kind of abilities they possess.
• Rank – How dangerous they are to humanity as a whole.
Both Governments and Secret Organizations use these classifications to monitor, control, and assess the risks posed by superhumans.
Superhuman Categories:
Superhuman abilities are divided into four main categories, determined by the nature of their powers.
1. Attribute Category (Enhanced Humans)
Superhumans in this category have heightened physical or sensory abilities but lack supernatural powers. They are essentially humans pushed beyond natural limits.
🔹 Examples:
• Super Strength – Can lift several tons effortlessly.
• Super Speed – Can outrun vehicles or react faster than bullets.
• Enhanced Durability – Can withstand gunfire, explosions, or extreme conditions.
• Advanced Perception – Superhuman hearing, sight, smell, or touch beyond natural limits.
• Regeneration – Can heal wounds, regrow limbs, or even survive fatal injuries (to an extent).
🔸 Limitations:
• Still bound by physical laws (e.g., someone fast enough to run at Mach 2 would still be burned by friction unless they have resistance).
• Lacks reality-altering or elemental powers.
2. Beastman Category (Hybrid Beasts)
This category includes individuals who possess the traits, attributes, or appearances of animals or mythical beasts. They often display feral instincts and heightened predatory senses.
🔹 Examples:
• Lycanthropy – Wolf-like traits such as enhanced agility, claws, fangs, and heightened senses.
• Shark Hybrid – Gills, enhanced swimming speed, water-breathing, razor-sharp teeth.
• Chimera-Type Hybrids – A mix of multiple animals, gaining the abilities of each.
• Dragon Physiology (Partial) – Tough scaled skin, fire-resistant body, enhanced lung capacity.
🔸 Limitations:
• Many Beastmen have instinctual drawbacks (e.g., aggression, territorial behavior, or seasonal weaknesses).
• Some mutations cause deformities or make it harder to blend into society.
3. Elemental Category (Masters of Nature)
These superhumans can generate, manipulate, or become one with elements. Some even possess elemental bodies.
🔹 Examples:
• Pyrokinesis – Create, control, and withstand fire and heat.
• Cryokinesis – Generate and manipulate ice and sub-zero temperatures.
• Electromagnetism – Can produce electricity, magnetize objects, or create ionized plasma fields.
• Hydrokinesis – Control water, create tsunamis, or extract moisture from the air.
• Aerokinesis – Manipulate wind currents, create tornadoes, or even remove oxygen from the air.
• Earth Manipulation – Control rock, metal, and minerals at will.
🔸 Limitations:
• Elemental superhumans often require a source (e.g., fire users need fuel(food or existing flames), water manipulators need moisture).
• Energy consumption varies—stronger abilities require more stamina and control.
4. Deviant Category (Unclassified Abilities)
The rarest and most unpredictable category. Powers in this category defy standard logic, making them the most difficult to control and classify.
🔹 Examples:
• Reality Warping – Can bend the laws of physics or alter existence itself.
• Time Manipulation – Can slow, stop, or even reverse time in small areas.
• Spatial Distortion – Teleportation, pocket dimensions, warping space.
• Soul Manipulation – Can steal, consume, or bind souls.
• Shapeshifting – Can fully transform into creatures, objects, or even other people.
• Immortality – Some Deviants are immune to aging or physical harm.
🔸 Limitations:
• Many Deviant abilities require conditions or sacrifices (e.g., teleportation may require a marked location).
• Some powers are incomplete or unstable, leading to unexpected effects.
Superhuman Ranks:
A superhuman’s Rank is determined by:
• Their power level.
• The scale of destruction they could cause.
• Their potential threat to humanity.
🔻 Rank 1: C (Menace-Class)
Threat Level:Low – Can endanger a small group of civilians (3-15 people).
🟢 Examples:
• A superhuman boxer with enhanced punching power.
• A fast runner capable of keeping up with a car.
• A low-tier Elemental who can spark a flame but not control fire.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Not a major threat. Police and security forces can handle them.
🔺 Rank 2: B (Hazard-Class)
Threat Level:Moderate – Can destroy a village or small town.
🟠 Examples:
• A Beastman with the strength of a bear or a lion's hunting instincts.
• An Elemental who can create a minor earthquake or summon lightning in a small area.
• A Deviant with low-tier teleportation.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Requires tactical intervention from special forces or other superhumans.
🔻 Rank 3: A (Disaster-Class)
Threat Level:High – Can wipe out an entire city or state.
🔴 Examples:
• A fire manipulator who can engulf an entire metropolis in flames.
• A Beastman hybrid with the destructive power of a T-Rex.
• A Deviant who can phase through objects or create temporary black holes.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Requires high-level intervention from military-grade superhumans.
🔺 Rank 4: S (Calamity-Class)
Threat Level:Severe – Can destroy a small country.
🟣 Examples:
• A storm manipulator capable of creating Category 5 hurricanes.
• A Beastman with the physical might of a kaiju-sized entity.
• A Deviant who can stop time for several minutes.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Requires entire organizations or elite superhuman teams to subdue.
🔻 Rank 5: SS (Catastrophe-Class)
Threat Level:Extreme – Can obliterate an entire continent.
⚫ Examples:
• A nuclear-tier elemental who can vaporize entire landmasses.
• A Deviant who can erase objects or beings from existence.
• A being with limited immortality and reality-bending powers.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Only other SS-ranked beings can challenge them.
🔺 Rank 6: SSS (Doomsday-Class)
Threat Level:Apocalyptic – Can annihilate all human life on Earth.
⚠️ Examples:
• A cosmic-level entity that can reshape reality.
• A Deviant capable of rewriting the laws of physics.
• A Beastman with the raw power of a god-like dragon.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Only other Doomsday-class beings or planetary weapons can stop them.
🔺 Rank 7: SSS+ (World Ender-Class)
Threat Level:Omnicidal – Can destroy entire planetary systems.
💀 Examples:
• A being capable of collapsing galaxies.
• A Deviant with true omnipotence and no physical limits.
• A fully awakened Descendant of a First-Generation God.
🔸 Danger Level:
• Considered unstoppable by mortal means.
Measuring Superhuman Power & The Core System
The process of ranking superhumans and determining their danger level is handled by G.R.O.W. using an advanced Energy Evaluation & Threat Assessment System (EETAS)—a government-designed device capable of scanning and analyzing a superhuman’s power output, potential, and combat capability.
The History of Power Measurement: The Evolution of the EETAS System
Before the EETAS, early methods of measuring superhuman strength were inaccurate and subjective, relying on combat performance, physical demonstrations, and limited biological studies. However, as superhuman abilities evolved, these traditional methods became unreliable, especially when it came to evaluating latent potential.
In 2090, after years of research into superhuman genetics, scientists discovered the existence of "Core Energy Reservoirs"—biological energy sources that fuel superhuman abilities. This discovery led to the creation of the first EETAS prototype, developed by Dr. Isamu Hoshino, a Japanese quantum biophysicist, and Dr. Eleanora Vespara, an Italian neuroscientist.
By 2097, EETAS became the global standard for power classification, used by governments, organizations like the NSO, and later G.R.O.W., to regulate and monitor superhuman activity.
The Core System: The Four Sources of Power
Every superhuman draws energy from three main cores, though there exists a fourth core that plays a critical but often overlooked role. The strength, stability, and synergy of these cores determine an individual’s power level and how effectively they can wield their abilities.
1. The Mind Core (C1) – The Psychic Nexus
• Location: Brain
• Energy Type:Psionic Energy
• Associated Abilities: Telekinesis, telepathy, mind control, precognition, illusion manipulation, mental resistance.
• Description: This core serves as the center for all mental and psychic abilities. It allows users to manipulate forces beyond the physical realm through sheer thought and willpower.
• Fluctuation: Highly volatile—stress, intelligence, and consciousness levels affect performance.
• Unique Trait: The Mind Core can expand beyond its natural limits, allowing users to access higher cognitive states.
2. The Heart Core (C2) – The Soul Engine
• Location: Heart
• Energy Type:Emotional / Spiritual Energy
• Associated Abilities: Healing, energy projection, spirit manipulation, emotion-based powers, divine abilities.
• Description: This core is fueled by deep emotions, passion, and the essence of the soul. It is commonly found in those who wield holy or demonic powers, emotion-based abilities, or even supernatural force control.
• Fluctuation: Stronger under extreme emotional states but can weaken if emotional stability is lost.
• Unique Trait: The Heart Core can connect with external forces (spiritual realms, divine entities, or even the emotions of others).
3. The Dantian Core (C3) – The Energy Reserve
• Location: Lower Abdomen (Dantian)
• Energy Type:Chi / Vital Energy
• Associated Abilities: Elemental manipulation, energy-based attacks, internal reinforcement, enhanced senses.
• Description: This core acts as the body’s energy reservoir, used primarily for fueling abilities that require energy projection, elemental control, or bodily enhancement.
• Fluctuation: Drains over time but can be replenished through meditation, rest, or energy absorption.
• Unique Trait: A highly developed Dantian Core allows a superhuman to store and generate immense energy, making their abilities more sustainable.
4. The Stamina Core (C4) – The Physical Catalyst(Often Overlooked)
• Location: No fixed location (dispersed throughout the body).
• Energy Type:Biological / Physical Power
• Associated Abilities: Super strength, speed, regeneration, endurance, combat proficiency.
• Description: Unlike the other cores, this core enhances raw physical abilities rather than fueling supernatural powers. It is critical for maintaining prolonged combat ability.
• Fluctuation: Depletes over time due to physical exertion, requiring rest, food, or healing to recover.
• Unique Trait: Those with a naturally high Stamina Core can surpass human limits, making them near-indestructible in battle.
Superhuman Ranking Process: How EETAS Determines Power Levels
When a superhuman is evaluated, G.R.O.W. employs a multi-step assessment that determines their rank and danger level:
Step 1: Core Analysis
• Using EETAS scanning technology, G.R.O.W. measures the superhuman’s Core Energy Signatures (CES) to determine:
• Which cores are active.
• The balance between them.
• Potential growth capabilities.
Superhumans with all four cores highly developed are extremely rare and usually fall within SSS-Class and above.
Step 2: Ability Classification
• G.R.O.W. assesses the nature of the superhuman’s ability, placing them into one of the four power categories:
• Attribute (Enhanced Physicality).
• Beastman (Hybrid Traits).
• Elemental (Natural & Energy Manipulation).
• Deviant (Unique & Unclassified Abilities).
Some individuals may fit into multiple categories, further increasing their classification level.
Step 3: Combat Simulation & Threat Evaluation
• The subject is put through a simulated combat scenario in a controlled environment.
• G.R.O.W. monitors:
• Power Output.
• Energy Consumption.
• Combat Efficiency.
• Potential Collateral Damage.
If a superhuman’s energy levels fluctuate dangerously or if their power shows potential for uncontrollable destruction, their danger ranking is increased.
Step 4: Final Threat Assessment & Rank Assignment
• After analysis, the superhuman is officially ranked, using the C to SSS+ ranking system:
• C-Rank: Local Threat (Menace-Class).
• B-Rank: City-Level Threat (Hazard-Class).
• A-Rank: Regional Threat (Disaster-Class).
• S-Rank: National Threat (Calamity-Class).
• SS-Rank: Continental Threat (Catastrophe-Class).
• SSS-Rank: Planetary Threat (Doomsday-Class).
• SSS+ Rank: Cosmic Threat (World Ender-Class).
Higher-ranked superhumans are monitored constantly by G.R.O.W. Any individual ranked S-Class or above is considered a potential global risk.
The Dark Truth Behind Power Evaluation:
While the EETAS system was designed for fair ranking, G.R.O.W. uses it as a tool for control.
• Superhumans ranked SSS-Class and above are automatically considered high-risk, even if they are not criminals.
• Empowered individuals are often assigned a higher threat level, since their powers are granted by The Contractor, an entity whose nature is still unknown.
• Some individuals have had their rankings artificially increased or decreased to suit governmental interests.
G.R.O.W. also has blacklisted superhumans, who are considered too dangerous to exist and are either hunted down or forcefully detained in The Chasm, the world’s most secure superhuman prison.
Final Notes on Power Evaluation:
The discovery of Cores changed how humanity viewed superhumans, but true power is not always measurable. Some individuals have hidden potential that no device can predict, making them wildcards—a status that G.R.O.W. fears the most.
In the end, a superhuman’s true limits are defined by their will, experience, and adaptability—not just their ranking on a government-issued scale.

ive never watched jjba so u should tell me about diavolo(?)....
Dies badly. Ok. Ok so smiles big. I'll just give a basic run down
YOU SEE THIS PINK THING HERE?
THIS is Diavolo. He's the main antagonist of one of the parts (think of it like a season) of jojo. He's the boss of the Italian mafia and does TONS of shady things undercover in secret. Um the crimes the story focuses on is the whole drug ring he enables which sells to kids that he makes tons of $$$ and the many many torturous murders he commits + has others carry out. He used to have a whole elite assassination squad which are all awesome characters btw BUT THIS AINT ABOUT THEM
Well actually speaking of his squad he had one of his goons kidnap 2 members and cut up one of them for getting too curious about his identity and sent the body parts to the rest of his squad as a "dont fw me" HE MADE IT A PUZZLE IT WAS REALLY FUCKED WHEN THEY REALIZED OH THATS GORE THATS GORE OF MY COMFORT CHARACTER and the second guy that got kidnapped KILLED HIMSELF before they could torture him as well. Sighs dreamily. Anyway this is just 1 torture of the many he's been responsible for. Hes the leader of the mafia hes gotta put his foot down lol kicks legs
A big part of his distrustful nature is due to him being schizophrenic! His first appearance before his identity is revealed hes shown tweaking under some covers naked and rambling to himself awww so cutes hes paranoid that someones gonna see him even though he's already secluded himself awwww
Hes also the host of a system! Doppio, the other guy I talk about occasionally is an alter of his. We see him first before Diavolo. The system rep is really good especially for uh. When did this shit come out. I think the 90s but yes the mentally ill guy is the antagonist But it's a really good depiction of the uglier sides of these disorders that's not just IM GONNA GET YOU .... IM CRAYZAYYY. Heres dopdop this cutests

While Diavolo knows hes a system Doppio doesn't! They communicate through "phone calls" which is mainly Doppio shouting RING RING RING and then finding a random object and speaking to Dia through that. Hes just talking to himself tho (as in the system) Heres an example

They cofront sometimes too, you can tell mainly by eye color. Dop = brown and Dia = green

Doppio is very cutes but he DOES work in the mafia too. He has killed and will do it again ❤ He has a very short temper and when pushed he gets super violent smiles! He works like right underneath Diavolo in rank and is essentially the one who gets them place to place in public settings. Since Diavolo is a recluse and NEVER shows himself
This part is gonna be brief because I do NOT want to go into details about stands but basically they have the ability to "cut out" parts within time and space and time skip while hes the only one who can move within the "erased" time. He can skip through time ok? Oh and Doppios power is intuition, he can see into the future kinda. I'm not explaining this bro my PHONE IS ON 1% HELP. well uh I'll see you when I get home thank you for the ask ilysm anon

Ahsoka but the characters are better... The plot... everything is better.

I was talking/venting in RBs with @kanansdume on their post, and I started writing a reply that was just too long and in depth. So it's now its own post.
Offering you an alternative version of events for Ahsoka's first 4 episodes:
The cause of the break up between Hera, Ahsoka and Sabine, is Ezra.
Hera is more of a politician than a general these days, and if she sees action it's to police conflict and hunt down empire remnants. She's NOT under the impression that everyone who kept on living under the empire needs to be eradicated or whatever her deal is right now. She's busy splitting work with Jacen and not really able to help either of her friends as each would want to.
Sabine has never given up. She's still actively looking for Ezra.
Not Ahsoka. On her end, she's given up. She wrote off Ezra as a hero. She grew up watching Jedi sacrifice themselves to buy others some time or make doomed attempts to kill powerful enemies. She thinks Ezra is dead (gloriously so) and refused to indulge the fantasy that he may still be alive, driving a big wedge in her relationship with Sabine.
Until Ahsoka finds that Morgan seems to expect Thrawn to be alive… Which might mean Ezra is alive too… Just maybe.
We meet Sabine as she lands on Lothal. She isn't reckless, wasting time away in a tower like in the show. She's well dressed if rumpled and obviously drained. The moment she steps onto the space port, she's surrounded by local guards. The guy who chases her in the show is instead in full uniform waiting for her, and clearly distressed.
Did she forget what today was? That the governor asked her to attend the celebrations? She was meant to be here already, the event has even started.
Sabine brushes him off. She had no plan to come at all. She's been busy and never even opened the message requesting her presence. She's back from Coruscant, talking to the only scientist who seems to specialise in purgill, and does he have any idea how tedious it is to get useful fact out of someone who never steps out of academia? She's going home, thanks.
She gets upset when the "war hero" title is used to try and persuade her. She's trying to do war hero stuff by rescuing Ezra, thank you. Speeches and hand waving aren't for her, never were. Maybe the dialogue can hint that she used to play along, but has grown increasingly desperate in her search instead of the faff of her mostly ceremonial position.
But the guy drops a hint that convinces Sabine to get on the back of his speeder after all : her old "jedi friend" is there for the celebration. Ahsoka, who she hasn't heard from in ages!
Ahsoka would have trained Sabine for a while for saber, but they've since split and heir friendship frayed over the Ezra Lives situation. NOT because of padawan BS.
Ahsoka could also perceive Sabine's dedication to find Ezra as something worse with every year that passes. To her, it'd go from friendship to attachment, of the overly strong type. And even if Sabine isn't a Jedi, the way Anakin was, it doesn't mean that this attachment wouldn't bring some darkness.
Heck, Ahsoka could sort of wash her hands off Sabine by blaming the darkness brought by her Ezra fixation. Like this isn't her fault, no sir, it's the way Sabine is so consumed that she won't listen to reason.
Anyway, they're both here now, and though the "how have you been" is a tip toeing on eggshells exercise, Ahsoka eats some humble pie and admits she needs Sabine's help for something important.
She has tracked an artifact to a ruin, and although it's ancient, it clearly has a deep stratum. It's not just one culture that can be observed in it, but several stacked on top of each other. And one of the most recent traces of alteration are Mandalorian.
Ahsoka wouldn't solve that JFO puzzle on her own. She'd bring Sabine for her unique Mando insight. But trust would be an issue, so she'd remain super vague about what they're looking for and completely tight lip about why. Ahsoka doesn't want to kindle hopes about Ezra in Sabine of all people.
From Sabine's pov, she's doing Ahsoka a favour, and Hera asked her to please help as she's invested in this mcguffin hunt too. Sabine, by coming along, is doing that very adult thing of putting up with a shitty situation to accomodate people (the total opposite of her highway chase scene).
But even as Sabine finds the map and frees it from the old compartment it's in, they are attacked by the droids. A good old epic fight ensues, where Sabine is shown to be rusty with her saber, and rusty in general with droids, but also Ahsoka sucks at anticipating Sabine's actions, and keeps throwing orders that don't get obeyed (or can't realistically be obeyed).
In the past few years Sabine's been spending more time investigating, talking to people and reading books and buying intel, than fighting.
Not knowing what the map is for, she loses it. Does Shin come in then and wound her? Forcing Ahsoka to flee with her on the brink of death? I think it would be nice if the only reason Sabine lives is because Ahsoka was there to use a constant flow of Force healing. Not fixing her but keeping her alive as Huyang flies them away.
Because, you know, it's getting real tiresome to see people survive lightsabers to the centre of mass.
Then Sabine wakes up, she's sorry she lost the antique Ahsoka was looking for… But Hera calls in as a holo, upset with Ahsoka… And Sabine would slowly realise why. The thing she lost, nearly died over unknowingly, was a map! A map to Thrawn, and so to Ezra.
Nobody needs to be incompetent about that map thing, either, because it would be a very classic puzzle that Ahsoka could have solved. It's not old or mysterious, it was hidden in the old temple. In the show she never sees the map, and it needs to be inserted in the henge to make sense any way. Here Ahsoka didn't need Sabine's help to solve the mcguffin, but to get it. And she got it and lost it at the same time.
And now Sabine realises just WHAT it was. To Ahsoka it's a trail to Thrawn, or a clue in Morgan's plans. To Hera it's weeks of political favour wasted and hope for Thrawn and Ezra gone. Hera can't justify more spending on this without proof Morgan is up to no good.
Meanwhile Sabine sees the map as proof she's always been right. That Ezra is alive, and that Ahsoka used her and lied and kept her in the dark. Sabine would argue she'd never have engaged that rogue padawan if she knew what she was risking with the map. Ahsoka could argue back she only needed to follow her orders.
Huyang is the one who settles things between them by asking how exactly they think this argument is helping the situation? He could be the one to insist they have to stay and work together to get the map, when both Ahsoka and Sabine want nothing more than to split again.
Personality-wise Ahsoka can team work, but she needs to lead. She's used to being the most OP in the room, and grew up giving order to mostly unquestioning soldiers. Sabine has a different skillset, is pig headed, and won't take orders from Ahsoka, especially not now that she feels like she was used.
Hera and Huyang could both come in then to soothe things, and Hera would suggest they visit the other trail she's unearthed (dockyards) while the villains actively get their plan on the tracks.
At the dockyards, Hera would understand that people worked for the Empire because they didn't have a choice, and wouldn't expect people to 'get rid' of imperials after the fall of the empire. It's not exactly how that stuff happens in real life, right? It would also be interesting if Chopper FINALLY came to some use…
So I suggest that the smuggling was done by droids, and the main human mind behind this operation was the one maintening the droid fleet. Altering their codes and priorities. We could have Chop somehow help figure it out. He could also be the one who PWA PWAs at the very end that they shouldn't look so disappointed, since he managed to slap a tracker under the chest plate of that one droid he highjacked that fled on the ship.
They have their lead to that planet.
Now's a good time for Ahsoka to be able to report about Shin and Baylan's sabers instead, maybe spotting them at that place, whatever. They have no clear character or motivation and for all I care we could keep visuals of their sabers from early on when freeing Morgan.
But here's the cinch about Huyang :
He's completely out of place with Ahsoka. She doesn't have a padawan. Doesn't want one. Sabine isn't a real one and has no desire to even try to be. And any good droid could do Huyang's job, without her moaning about Jedi protocol so much.
So why does she keep him?
Huyang should be with Luke Skywalker. Wouldn't it be a little dark and sweet if it's revealed that Ahsoka has been planning to bring him over to Luke's budding school but hasn't because… (and let's forget all shit with them in Mando) well, because she doesn't believe in a New Order. She saw too many younglings killed or turned, and she doesn't trust Luke with rebuilding the Order. Doesn't really want him too.
Yet at the same time she misses it. Misses the protocols she broke with Anakin, and the life she had there as a padawan. Huyang feeds into this nostalgia. Sometimes he sounds like a master--but one she doesn't need to listen to.
She keeps pushing the time to bring him to Luke over and over.
But now Huyang could have his own motivation : Baylan has survived, and he's taken a padawan.
What was Baylan like? Why would he want to free Thrawn? Why team up with Morgan? Imo it'd be a lot more interesting if his saber was yellow or truly orange, and Shin's was blue or literally any colour but red. Make them apparently rogue Jedi and not weird darksiders larping as Taron Malicos and Merrin.
Maybe Huyang would try to push for them to be in touch. Maybe he'd want to approach Baylan himself. Because he wants to recreate the Order, right? And he's got an apprentice. And wouldn't it be a shame if they truly fell down a dark path?
So instead of Baylan being sentimental but actually not about Ahsoka staying alive, it could be Huyang who is ready to expend his kindness to even them, even after the interaction over the map. Afterall, Jedi aren't always shy about using violence to get what they want, and maybe Shin always arrives on the scene when her side is already in a fight. Maybe Huyang is on copium!
But Baylan could be seen as behaving one way, and Ahsoka could feel his vibes being rancid… VS. Huyang knowing him by reputation. Why not go on and fully rip Malicos, at this stage? You got his looks and his theories. You may as well also make Baylan a respected Jedi general. Someone Huyang remembers from his trips to make his first saber.
Now wouldn't it be neat if Chopper's tracker returns a system that Sabine recognises the name of? She was just talking to that scholar about Purgill after all, and he mentioned how this system was an important migration point, one poorly researched, because it's so remote, and at the fringes of Dathomir space, not a friendly locale.
Sadly I still don't understand WTF the map is. Why does Morgan need it? it seems ancient… And yet it points to Thrawn? HOW? Why does it go to a different henge style temple? Nothing makes sense in the show and we're meant to just accept it.
I propose something else.
The map is stored into a bog standard data storage puzzle thingy. Anyone who could handle a Japanese puzzle box could use it. But the map is just the tip of the iceberg. It's actually a nightsister spell underneath, and the entire goal is to hyper focus and pinpoint.
So Morgan 'feels Thrawn calling to her'. And yep, that's corny, but she does. And what she needed was that nightsister focus tool. She needs to wildly amplify the signal, and then use the map to pinpoint its origine totally.
She goes to that henge because it's a meditation space. It's within the Dathomir sphere of influence, but not Dathomir proper, which is why she hid the ring here. There's something about this world, the same quality that attracts the purgill, that really throws the Force into whack.
While it's good for Morgan, it'd be confusing and disturbing for any other Force user (how to nerf Ahsoka, Baylan and Shin).
Once she fully feels the location of Thrawn's call, the map zooms in and in and in. As she suspected (as she's prepared for), it's in another galaxy entirely.
Instead of having the badies split, Baylan would have to protect Morgan so she can remain in her trance as the droids help her refine the coordinates. Shin can go harry Sabine and split her and Ahsoka, who can't properly communicate due to the planet's interference.
When the women go to fight Morgan and co, perhaps Huyang would ask Ahsoka to convince Baylan to return to them. Maybe Huyang's interest in helping with Shin is also what keeps getting in the way of Sabine whenever she has an opportunity to strike to kill.
Anyway, please no fucking Anakin!!! We don't need more nostalgia bait. Stop!! Jedi canonically can't die from falls of any height so long as they've trained to cushion a fall. We see the trio take insane falls all of Clone Wars, and it's in High Republic now too. Ahsoka clipping off the world map from getting yeeted from a small cliff is sad and a pathetic excuse to show Anakin off.
Also would like to point out that with a tight script, all the events above are 2 or 3 episodes max.
What do you think? Opinions? Suggestions? It's a bit of a meta post so feel free to add on to it!

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Chronos
David Clinton was a physicist from Gotham who experimented in the field of time travel. Although a brilliant scientist, Clinton was emotionally unwell and felt mocked by his peers and cowed by his wife. When he finally made a breakthrough in his research, Clinton decided to use the technology to become a super villain and amass incredible wealth and power.
Fashioning his time travel technology into his specialized ‘Chronosuit,’ Clinton became ‘Chronos’ and began pilfering various treasures from the past. At first he only stole things that would not be missed so not to substantially alter the time-stream. Yet his greed and need to prove himself led Chronos to take greater risks. He attempted to thieve Batman’s utility belt from the Justice League’s Watchtower. This ultimately led to all manner of time-traveling high-jinks wherein Chronos and members of the Justice League became stuck in the era of America’s ‘wild west.’
Inebriated by his own power, Chronos began to vastly alter the time stream, situating himself as a king of a patchwork future and causing all manner of chaotic fluctuations in the space and time. There became a great risk that Chronos could actually break time and destroy all of reality. Fortunately, the Justice League were able to prevail and Batman furtively reprogramed Chronos’ device so that the villain became forever trapped within a brief loop of time. With his defeat the regular time-stream reverted to normal and only Batman and Green Lantern had any recollection that the adventure had even occurred.
Actor Peter MacNicol provided the voice for Chronos, with the time-altering villain first appearing in the twelveth episode of the first season of Justice League Unlimited, ‘The Once and Future Thing Part One: Weird Western Tales.’

You know what? Let's test some patience and endurance. Number 3, tell Number 9 about the entire Kirby lore.
I really don't know anything about the lore of kirby!
Sayaka! Read it from here! This should still count.
*Alter Ego loads up a long paragraph, and Sayaka tries to read it as fast as possible.
Okay Mukuro, listen up!
L-Listening, ma'am!
So, Kirby is a cute pink puffball who lives in the peaceful Planet Popstar. His main job is to protect his home from various villains and threats, and he’s known for his incredible ability to inhale enemies and gain their powers! The lore begins with King Dedede, the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land. He often causes trouble for Kirby by stealing food or unleashing monsters, and Kirby always has to step in to stop him. But it’s not just King Dedede! There’s also Dark Matter, a dark entity that wants to consume Dream Land and plunge it into darkness. Kirby battles against Dark Matter in several games to save his home! In the first game, Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby must save Dream Land from King Dedede, while in Kirby Super Star, you get to experience different adventures, like The Great Cave Offensive and Milky Way Wishes, where you can also control the powers you collect! Then there’s Meta Knight, who starts as an antagonist but becomes more of an ally. He’s mysterious and really cool! In Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, you learn more about his past and his battles against the likes of Dark Mind, who’s also trying to conquer Dream Land. Speaking of adventures, Kirby has explored many worlds, including Dream Land, the Fountain of Dreams, and even space! Each game introduces new characters and powers, like Waddle Dee and the adorable animal friends who help Kirby along the way. There’s even a game where you can play as different characters alongside Kirby, like King Dedede and Meta Knight in Kirby: Star Allies. And then there are the copy abilities! Kirby can inhale enemies and take on their powers, like Sword, Fire, Ice, and even more unique ones like Ranger or Doctor! Each ability gives him new attacks and playstyles, allowing players to experiment with how they approach challenges. Not to forget, there are also games that delve into his backstory, like Kirby: Canvas Curse and Kirby’s Epic Yarn, which explore different art styles and gameplay mechanics. They show how creative and versatile the Kirby series can be! So, to sum it all up, Kirby is a lovable hero who battles various foes to keep his home safe. He’s not just a cute character; he represents hope, resilience, and the power of friendship! No matter how many times he’s knocked down, he always gets back up to protect those he cares about!
*GAAAAAAAAASSP!*
Were you seriously trying to say all of that in one breath?
Yeah...Emphasis on "try."

My Random-Ass Headcanon Lore Compilation That Nonetheless Does (Mostly) Tie Together, Part 1
aka, My Personal Star Wars "Theory of Everything" that's more than a little deranged and I'm putting it out there in hopes that somebody else would like to foam at the mouth over it as much as I do
If you thought midichlorians were bad, buddy you ain't seen nothing yet
(if it helps, just imagine bill wurtz is narrating this)
HISTORY OF THE ENTIRE GALAXY, I GUESS
So in Legends EU - which frankly, if you're gonna do weird shit in the star war, at least the old EU had panache - the ancient proto-Jedi were called the Je'daii and TL;DR, got started after some flying pyramids called Tho Yor showed up all across the galaxy to, uh, benevolently abduct Force sensitives from many different species and dump them on a magic planet in the heart of the galaxy called Tython, where they studied the Force.
The Tho Yor were implied to be creations of a super-advanced alien species (who may have even been from a different galaxy). However, in my nonsense reality, the Tho Yor are instead the hyper-evolved forms of beings who used to be regular people of various species that spent such a long time in intense contemplation of the Force, their existence transcended the 4 perceptible dimensions of space and time and the corresponding laws of physics. Think the bulk beings from Interstellar except instead of totally peacing out of reality apart from their wormholes and tesseracts, the Tho Yor still somewhat hang around as "ships." Due to a sort of "sacred geometry" they chose to take on a pyramidal shape as their default, but my Tho Yor are fluid in their quasi-physical forms, shifting into any number of other configurations. At one point I have a Tho Yor shifting into the dodecahedral shape of what's recognized as being the Great Holocron, implying that that's what inspired the holocron's design. Their surface is a glossy dark iridescent material segmented almost like scales, sometimes rippling in an organic motion - think the skin of an indigo snake, or the oily rainbow sheen of a crow's or raven's feathers. The glowing portals on their hulls are also irregular, pulsating and changing size, shape, and color in a complex display of communication.
Because the Tho Yor are extra-dimensional, they can not only alter their shape, they're just plain not limited to anything perceivable in the 4D realm; like a TARDIS, they're infinitely "bigger on the inside" because they can serve as portals to higher dimensions. They're able to teleport anywhere instantaneously in a form of travel that's a much further advanced version of what serves as hyperspace for the GFFA (implying that, as Legends itself establishes about hyperspace, it's a not-well-understood reverse-engineered form of space travel constructed by powerful beings and left behind for other people to sort of figure out later on, just enough to be able to utilize it but never fully comprehend it). The Tho Yor sort of fold themselves up, collapsing and vanishing into higher dimensions, then pop back out wherever they please, causing major atmospheric displacement when doing so. (aka, it's really fucking LOUD.) Ramiel from Neon Genesis Evangelion's Rebuild edition is also a huge inspiration for my version of the Tho Yor, just, y'know...minus the catastrophic destruction lol.
Sort of.
Because while my Tho Yor are not weaponized per se, they're not defenseless. They're peaceful - a Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack - BUT if a Tho Yor is threatened or "damaged" (which isn't actually possible but they could appear to be temporarily harmed if, say, bombed or blasted with turbolasers, etc.), they simply open themselves up like an eldritch origami flower and dissolve and absorb whatever the fuck is attacking them. This feeds (pardon the pun) into the Force's greater cosmic philosophy of the balance of life and death. Life is valuable and precious as it is what generates the Force and keeps it flourishing, but without death more life can't exist, so sometimes you gotta break some eggs and recycle them and it's fine in the grand scheme of things, even though it seems very much NOT fine on the microcosmic scale of people on planets. It's the ciiiiiiiiiiiiircle of liiiiiiiiiiiiiife.
Another feature of their shapeshifting is using it to communicate with non-Force-sensitives. They can stretch, bud, and liquify parts of their hulls, transforming them into any possible material, to display something recognizable to that person as a means of expressing, you are known to us. For example, one of the Tho Yor signals to a wary, defensive Din Djarin by extending a tendril toward him that first transforms into raw beskar, and then into the deep red cloth of his boyhood garb on Aq Vetina, acknowledging his whole identity and freaking the fuck out of him even more lol.
That's not all about the Tho Yor, tho. Since once upon a very distant time they used to be people...
...they're also the Whills.
Thus the Tho Yor/Whills are hyper-beings with godlike powers who only exercise those abilities to observe galactic events for the sole purpose of recording all of history, without intervening apart from that one time they decided to kickstart mass organization of Force users. Occasionally, when certain strongly attuned Force users die, they will approach them within the cosmic soup of the Force and offer to have them join their ranks as a fellow observer.
(One of these was Anakin Skywalker, who was considered a "Chosen One" because he experienced the full gamut of good and evil in his deeds and thus is considered a particularly knowledgeable being. In one of my WIPs, Anakin - whose spirit exists as a sort of tesseract of all his personas, including all the people he could have been but was not - is actually considering their offer as a sort of self-flagellating punishment, to make himself bear witness to the heat death of the universe, the greatest torment to his soul that he deserves for his crimes. But Luke - who's tripping balls in the Force and has been taken on a wild ride by the Tho Yor/Whills - simply tells him, "You don't have to, though. You could come with me." Luke, who readily confesses to the Whills that he couldn't tolerate standing on the cosmic sidelines watching the universe continue to suffer, prefers to live out his natural life and just become one with the Force, ceding his individual consciousness to the spiritual sea. The philosophical journey he's taken on is actually a great relief to him, to grasp how infinitesimally tiny he is in the immeasurable scale of time and how the galaxy will still spin long after he's dead and all memory of him has been erased. It makes the crushing responsibility of restoring the Jedi Order feel like a lighter burden, because no matter what he does or doesn't accomplish, it'll be okay eventually. Things will work out. Cycles ebb and flow. There will be countless others after him with similar burdens, more golden ages to come, more wars, more times of peace, more catastrophes and tragedies, and so it goes. He's just a blip, and he can live with that. And Anakin inflicting almost-eternal misery upon himself isn't going to fix any of the wrongs he did. He can still make amends from the hard-earned wisdom he's gained from beyond the mortal plane, but he's welcome to join Luke in equally mortal existence, following Obi-Wan and Yoda who've already "crossed over" and given up their own consciousness.)
All things must be, and all things will end, the Whills state. That is the great promise. And indeed they will, because with the Force dependent on life, there will eventually be a time when the decaying universe, bereft of anything except evaporating black holes, can no longer support life of any kind, and thus even the Force itself will come to an end, and the journals of the Whills will be complete.
The Force itself may seem to have a "will," but I personally prefer it to be a largely unknowable and unpersonified entity. I don't espouse the view of The Ones from Mortis being embodiments of the Force. If anything, I like to conceive of the Force more along the lines of the fractal alien from Annihilation:

An ambiguous essence that straddles the line between benevolence and callousness, because it functions at a level outside the scope of living comprehension.
Do you not know that you were born in violence? the Whills ask. That without the deaths of stars, the cradles of your worlds and the elements in your blood could not exist? Without the abyss of singularities as their engines, your galaxies could not coalesce? Without decay, whole living systems could not proliferate? Matter itself arose from a cosmic crucible. Death has allowed you to live.
I also like to picture the realm of the Cosmic Force as a fractal tapestry a la melodysheep's drug-trip visuals:
All living things in the universe displayed in shrimp colors, each strand an individual lifeform, unfurling and budding as their lifespan stretches out, evaporating upon their death while another filament snaps into place with the birth of a new one, from bacteria to megafauna and everything in-between.
*As a side note, I also have some vague desire to connect the Force with quantum physics/entanglement and maybe even electromagnetism. I mean, if George Lucas envisioned a space version of The Powerhouse of the Cell™ as magic Force germs inside of everybody, I don't think it's any crazier to imagine the Force as having a relationship to quantum physics as a means to sort of explain how some people can become psychic bathrobe glowstick wizards with the power to move shit with their brains, feel others' emotions, have clairvoyance, and perceive some things across vast interstellar distances. I don't mind a spiritual concept having an interrogation with scientific principles, I just like shit to be as weird as possible.
#hi my mind palace is more like a radioactive flaming dumpster#welcome in just don this biohazard suit#tune in next time for some more insane bullshit#thanks for letting me charlie day all over your dash#my meta#the force#the whills#star wars
