took a break from writing today to organize my notion a bit. I'm so happy with my character page so far :,)

there's quite a bit more characters I need to add and most of them need their profile filled out but at least they have their faces!!

farewell

a reminder for myself that i need to work on this fic! full scene scene below:

“I don’t know. I never thought of myself as an independent being,” Dimitri confessed and when Claude gave him a genuinely puzzled look, he elaborated, “My voice, my body… they are meant to serve the Kingdom and its people. And my father as well.”

“He’s dead,” Claude said bluntly. It felt like a painful slap in the face.

“I mean that I should honor his memory,” Dimitri explained, trying to be patient.

“Okay,” Claude agreed half-heartedly. “You are Dimitri, the son, and Dimitri, the prince. That’s fine and all. But you are also Dimitri, the man. The son and the prince… they are okay, I guess. But you know… the one I fell in love with was Dimitri, the man. He’s definitely my favorite.”

Claude smiled at him so genuinely, it hurt. Dimitri couldn’t speak, could barely think.

“Your Highness,” Dedue called, interrupting them. Dimitri turned abruptly. He and Hilda had caught up with the two house leaders. “It is time to go.”

Dimitri nodded and looked at Claude again. It hurt. It hurt a lot. He didn’t want to part.

“I love you too,” he blurted suddenly.

Claude offered him a self-conscious smile. “I know. You have told me that a bunch of times already.

“I will love you until the day I die,” Dimitri said and he felt desperate.

“That’s a bit too much…” Claude muttered, the smile still there, yet his cheeks had colored slightly.

“Can I kiss you now?”

Claude didn’t answer. He closed the distance and kissed Dimitri’s lips himself first gently, then passionately. He gripped Dimitri’s upper arms so tightly, it hurt. When Claude pulled away, he grimaced as if he was in pain.

“Dimitri… don’t do that to me…” Claude said softly, rubbing his thumbs over Dimitri’s wet cheeks. His wet cheeks. Dimitri was crying again, he realized, and tried to ignore the shame that came with it. “We will meet again, right? We promised.”

Dimitri nodded. He kissed Claude once more.

“We’ll meet again,” he repeated it like a prayer. “Goodbye.”

this episode truly did have everything didn’t it. john getting his name in the episode descriptions. arthur and john being nice to each other. arthur and john communicating for the first and probably only time. john taking care of arthur. the end of the maggot pregnancy arc. yorick might be evil but that’s ok. arthur referring to john and yorick as “this one” as though introducing his children. “owls don’t eat people, boys.” alexander came back. arthur got armor. we really got it all this time lads

I love when they casually reveal that Spinel hasn't stopped tracking the main trio once in this arc.. retroactively makes some of the past lighthearted episodes of this arc have a worrying edge to it, because you just end up wondering how long he's been watching, or if he was already watching at that point etc.

He is also even apparently keeping an eye on the Brave Asagi being repaired. He followed Friede around without his knowledge a while ago too. He just knows everything, and could act but just doesn't strike until the time is right.

I wonder if he is the one orchestrating Liko being separated from Roy and Dot in HZ064. The preview mentions that she is separated from them. And next ep will be exactly fifty episodes after HZ014, which was also when Spinel lured Liko away from the RVT to steal her pendant. He used her kindness against her by sending a fake ad about that one spice Murdock wanted. He spied on their conversation in that episode and used that bit of dialogue against Liko because he knew she would be exactly the type to want to go get that spice because it would make Murdock happy. Maybe he is creating some kind of diversion to separate Liko from her friends in the next episode. It wouldn't be the first time he messed with people's phones or other devices.
