Oh it’s nothing fantasy/historical related so I don’t know if any of my followers will even be interested lol

It’s a Domestic Fiction/Horror story taking place in a very very small Oklahoma town . There are six (was eight) different houses all related to the Darlingtons on the same road (why it’s called Darlington Road).

It has two povs. Graham Darlington, a 23 year old country boy who has a strong resentment to most of the entire family. And Graham’s uncle Thaddeus Darlington, a rodeo enthusiast gun wielding hog hunter who feels the responsibility of keeping the family in line.

Both of their arcs focus around Graham’s little sister Sierra who they both feel like they need to be the father figure of (since Graham and Sierra’s dad Norman died soon after she was born) - so throughout the entire story both Graham and Thaddeus is butting heads trying to fill the position of the man of the family.

Also Graham is an asshole hence the horror element

I did promise to show my process of making backgrounds so here it is 🙆‍♀️✨

to start off--here's the line layer before I begin adding anything:

I still think this composition is a bit weird, but...eh 🤷‍♀️

next, I compile all of the references I've spent numerous hours foraging for:

these are all from basic google searches; for this piece, I looked for images relevant to the theme, so we have some vintage military manuals, illustrations, even a real army application form that I filled out in Johnny's name 😅 sources for these can vary, but I've had good luck perusing ebay listings for a lot of these scans 👍

next, I kind of just...scatter them around the page, seeing what fits where, keeping the figures as the focus but letting the background fill out around them:

I then start adjusting them more, utilizing various overlay options (hard light/ pin light/ multiply/ color burn are usually my go-to ones in PS) it takes some fiddling to see what looks best:

then I add a few more personal additions for flavor ✨

next, I adjust the colors a bit:

then I adjust the colors even more, bringing out the electric blue and pink to make it pop

as you can see, I did add a few more elements in the end, as well as adjusting the colors further with the addition of the fully rendered figures 🙆‍♀️

all in all--this is pretty much how I create all my backgrounds, like a fun little scrapbooking project~

the reason they had to have tommy leave the bachelor party in 7x06 is because honestly one of two things would have happened there 1) eddie would have had to witness buck kissing a man and paying attention to a man who is Not Him and would have been passive aggressive deranged for reasons he can’t explain in the middle of that karaoke bar. he'd be up on that karaoke machine singing something like the killers mr. brightside it would have been a mess. and buck would be CLUELESS to it all like hey tommy. look at my bestie SING. isn't he so great? meanwhile tommy's there in his henley like 🧍‍♂️OR 2) it would have been the Exact Same as in the show with buck and eddie hanging off each other being insane. except meanwhile tommy's there in his henley like 🧍‍♂️
