so yesterday i had a fucking epiphany when i was talking about how transmascs dont have eggs as much as transfems do and so transfems adopt male characters as transfem all the time and i was like hmm i wonder if i have any male ocs that are kinda eggy/i could see transitioning later in life (it helps that the majority of my ocs are in high school bc these projects started when i was a teenager and are frozen in time)

thank god i recently made portraits for all of them too

first one i immediately thought of was michaels:

a lot of the plot of tww revolves around him developing a crush on a new male teacher (its more of a plot device than anything theres no shippy stuff involved with that at all dw) and it kicking off some other social conflicts with the other kids around him because hes going through like a sexual discovery phase and all his friends are trying to be supportive in the most pushy/invasive way possible

and his background is hes very much The Good One out of this entire group of friends. he comes from a well off family with big expectations for him hes an honor student and hes the one that usually talks them out of trouble, hes obviously DEEPLY insecure as a result.

people do question his masculinity a lot, not in a way that usually bothers him, mostly the fact that hes kind of a later bloomer and short (canonically he gets a lot taller basically right after all this -- hes currently in tww barely just turned 16) but he does care about coming off as "the right kind of person" rejecting his attraction to men and keeping his gay best friend at a distance around other people, ive actually been really unsure about what his real sexuality is supposed to be

i originally made him as my own personal whitewashed self insert when i was 13, he was kind of a spinoff of an "alter ego" i had on deviantart where i "lied" about being a boy, ive since disconnected from him A LOT and i think when you reevaluate him as his own person he doesnt really have a lot of transmasc vibes left over

i feel like itd make a lot of sense for him to finally have his first puberty come and hit him like a fucking truck and yknow, its the exact opposite of a relief. i can imagine his family being excited that hes growing into a man and stuff and, honestly anything that makes his family proud has got to feel like getting shot in a way.

kitkat i feel like could also easily be transfem but i dont know that its because he comes off as someone who has a lot of insecurity to grapple with

kitkat is michaels' extremely social neighbor and childhood friend, hes friends with everyone, he loves to be involved in everyones drama but its because he wants to be supportive and help everyone live their best lives. kitkat finds out michaels has a crush on someone as soon as he enters the story and makes it his lifes mission to help, but michaels wont tell him who his crush is on so he goes from thinking its a girl called maddie (because michaels lies about it), pestering her about it so bad that michaels has to admit he lied but then refuses to say who the real person is, to i think he either figures it must be either him or loren (i forget, it may very well be both at different points) and switching full gear into helping him accept his sexuality (he finds out the truth near the end and i forget how he responds to that ill have to read the script again)

meanwhile the entire time its painfully obvious that kitkat is so obsessed with this because he definitely has feelings for michaels himself

and i think i have it as basically canon that once michaels moves on from his teacher crush and settles he realizes he has feelings for kitkat as well and they reunite after a couple years after michaels' family moves him to italy or something for boarding school + maybe uni idk (this is mostly for semi plot reasons in a different story but its also definitely a punishment for spending too much time with the local out and proud gay troublemaker loren)

anyway i think it could easily be that they meet again as women, or one is already transitioned and influences the other to or whatever

i think honestly they could be EITHER bi or lesbians like i think when i look back on it their confused feelings about liking each other/liking unobtainable men isnt specifically about liking MEN its about being queer in general so theres no real conflict there

something i went through as well where i had a big phase of everyone thinking im a lesbian and trying to be like "its okay if you are", just for me to turn out to be trans and gay (for men only)

winter is kind of a weird story, one that ive played with a bit before and i bring her up because i think she can be kind of a counter to my "theres no telltale signs of a transmasc egg" thing and it illustrates that transmasc eggs are harder to predict rather than theres just no signs

winter is the fujo queen, her main thing in the story is being a stalker fujoshi who harasses the boys specifically because theyre gay and even makes them kiss for her blog at one point she was originally a hateful caricature of a fandom girl back when she was created in like 2010 but now shes good and we like her okay, i know from what i just said it seems like a stretch but she is

her heart is basically never in the right place but i think winter has a lot of value as a representative of this kind of person, on some level i WAS her when i was younger, yknow shes 15, and she is weird because this kind of character could really go ANYWHERE as an adult, where we currently have her she is one of those fujoshi girls that is 100% using yaoi as an exploration of her own queerness. as the story progresses she starts hanging out with a girl i mentioned earlier named maddie and this part is not super developed but theyre supposed to team up while having completely different motivations and struggling to understand where the other is coming from, thus gaining an interest in each other through mutual curiosity and eventually dating

maddie is already an out lesbian, shes actually mostly present in the story as lukas' (lorens love interest) best friend and they bonded through both being out of state queer kids

i lost the picture but ive already drawn a more progressed winter where she started dropping a lot of her femininity but i dont know if she was going to become more just butch or nonbinary or actually transition but theres SOMETHING going on with her, i think it depends on how much she relates to the yaoi stuff that shes so obsessed with, is it all just about the idealized freedom of sexuality? does she want to BE the yaoi? i dont know, im not sure which one i like best

all i know is that if she DID transition maddie would not transition with her like michaels and kitkat they would probably just be friends

edit: forgot to say what i said on discord which is that i thought id be hesitant to have winter transition because then wed have no fujoshi representation but i realized kitkat could 100% take over as fujo queen

an AU where ceroba, in the end, refuses to inject kanako with the serum. even after all her research, she just can't trust that it's totally safe. while kanako accepts this, she still wishes she could eventually be of use somehow, and indirectly blames herself for her father's death.

despite all this, with kanako alive, ceroba is able to grieve chujin in a far less desperate way, still having her daughter by her side. as the years go by, ceroba devotes more and more of her time to finishing chujin's research in hopes of finally making a serum that can save the underground. kanako is determined to help, too -- together, they clean up chujin's lab and make it a far nicer place to work, because they're in this together now. well, in theory.

ceroba still certainly takes care of kanako and does her best to be a good mother, but as time passes, ceroba spends more and more time in the lab trying to find an answer. kanako, being the social butterfly that she is, can't bring herself to always stay shut inside like her mother; she travels daily to Oasis Valley, making friends and becoming the town darling. as ceroba spends more time working, kanako spends more and more time taking care of the estate, trying to spend time outside whenever possible.

but it gets kind of lonely. the ketsukane estate is off outside of Oasis Valley, and not many people come by. she's worried about her mother, who's been shutting her out as she becomes more desperate to find a solution. there's only so much to do at the house.

then, clover falls into the underground and explores the dunes. there are barely any other kids at this spot in the underground -- finally, someone around her age! she's immediately entranced by them and determined to become their friend, even after finding out they're a human -- that just makes them cooler...!

but there's a problem; kanako has seen her father's tapes, she knows that a human soul would be extremely valuable to producing the serum. of course, she wants to help save the underground, and she wants her mother to finally be rid of stress and be able to spend time with her again... but after spending time with clover, kanako knows there's no way she can let clover die. they're like the sibling she never had...

and kanako can't even let her mother know that clover exists, either; she knows exactly what will happen if ceroba finds out there's a human here. and yet, a secret part of her wishes and hopes that maybe, just maybe, ceroba could find value in clover as a person and then they could all live in the ketsukane estate together. it would be a dream come true! maybe there's even some way clover can help ceroba without having to give up their soul...?

but things aren't destined to work out that way. any number of things could happen.

clover could peacefully move on in their quest through the underground, leaving a sad and lonely kanako behind.

or, ceroba finds out about clover in one way or another, and things are not looking good. but would she choose to take clover's life at the cost of her daughter's one and only friend?

what if clover didn't come in peace, but in vengeance?

or maybe ceroba somehow accepts clover, growing to respect them after all is said and done, and she tries to experiment on a living human soul?

or maybe, wracked with grief and loneliness, kanako discards her mother's warnings and takes the new, updated serum herself, determined to become the hero for her family like she always wanted...?

or, something else could happen.

what if, after an unhappy ending, kanako wakes up on that same day again, waiting for clover to come by the ketsukane estate for the first time? she doesn't even know how it's possible, reliving the same few weeks over and over. she just wants to find her happy ending, and she'll search and search for as long as she needs to.

how long can she watch the same endings play out over and over?

I think it's incredibly important to remind folks on testosterone or folks who want to reverse patterned baldness about their options, but man, does it sometimes suck wondering how much of our insecurities about our hair stem from backwards beliefs that to strive towards beauty is not only preferable but "makes you good."

As someone with a rather masculinized body pre-medical transition, patterned baldness has always seemed neutral. Hair is incredibly important (hell, much of my own energy is spent on my hair because I like it), but the pressure to have hair, to have hair the "right way" is something that I absolutely loathe.

I'm not here to judge people who don't want patterned hair loss or baldness, I'm here to say that those traits will never make you lesser. Not only is it neutral, but it is also just as worthy and beautiful.

had a couple more thoughts about socrates-esque!reader and anaxa, which i thought i may as well share:

you get a bad rap around the grove of epiphany, because you are, admittedly, rather annoying — anytime somebody’s finally submitting their thesis, you’ll butt in, ask a few questions, and suddenly three years of hard work goes right down the drain because oops, there’s a little oversight which, if you go down deeply enough, actually undermines the whole argument of the essay.

(people are genuinely beginning to leave herbs and offerings in front their doors in the hopes of warding you off. they do not seem to be working.)

point is, you’re infamous, and as a result are altogether treated pretty badly by the majority of other people; they’re rude, even though you respond to them civilly and politely, they make personal attacks on you instead of responding to your point, and so forth. (to be fair, there are some people who admire you—the majority is convinced you’re an evil messenger of some sort sent by zagreus to mess with everyone.)

you don’t care, of course—your interest lies in uncovering the truth, not what people think about you (in fact, were you concerned by people’s perception of you, you would have stopped questioning ages ago)—but funnily enough, there’s somebody who does get irked when they hear people badmouthing you behind your back (or indeed in front of your face), and this person is, surprisingly enough, anaxa.

he’ll never admit it—gods forbid, he’s far too prideful—but it really just… gets on his nerves when he hears all these nasty rumours being spread about you. if you’re going to criticise someone, especially in a debate, you criticise their position, not the person; it’s basic intellectual honesty and etiquette, and yet so many people forget it the moment you step into the room.

part of his vexation arises from this behaviour; part of it arises from a certain… fondness, one might say, which he has inexplicably developed towards you while he wasn’t looking.

so, whenever he catches people saying this kind of stuff, he will confront them. not in a particularly aggressive way, not in a way which betrays that he might, gods forbid again, actually care about and respect the subject of criticism, but he’ll go up and very flatly ask them to repeat what they said, provide evidence for their claims, and when said people inevitably come up spluttering for words, leave, and feel a tad more satisfied about it than he should.

tldr; anaxa has actually got your back, although he’ll never admit to it. nobody would guess it, considering how much you seem to get on his nerves with your constant challenges and questions to whatever he say, but it’s true. you were mildly surprised yourself the first time he spoke up from the sidelines in the middle of a debate and told your interlocutor to shut their mouth about your method of questioning and answer the question they’ve been so obviously avoiding.

anyway, let’s just hope you don’t get sentenced to drink hemlock. that would really piss him off.

Oh-- oh I get it now. The scene in Style's bedroom is Style's gift to Fadel: an encounter designed to give Fadel as much of a chance to lay himself as bare as he could (further explanation here) with the layers of deception still between them.

But the garage scene -- this is Fadel's gift to Style.

Fadel presses against Style's lips delicate and soft, peels his shirt off all careful and slow, and nuzzles against the juncture of his neck as he slides into the narrow space between Style's legs. Everything about how Fadel is moving feels tender, because it IS: Style has granted Fadel's request, has let him into Style's space not only physically (in that this is where most of Style's life is) but also emotionally (because Style just revealed some very intimate and vulnerable pieces of his past to Fadel).

But even as this tone remains, the dialogue shifts into cheesy porn territory. Yet the delivery is still very intimate; Fadel is whispering his lines, slow and purposeful, gaze fixed intently on Style to see his reaction. Because this is something Fadel is creating for Style.

It's sex that is fun and playful and a little bit silly, and it's exactly the kind of romp that feels designed for Style. It's laughter and tenderness and comfort and sensuality and maybe kinda risky but oh so very intimate. It's a melding of pleasure and absurd frivolity that feels perfect for who Style is as a character. And it's orchestrated with such flawless precision; like the perfect, most wonderful gift.

Is it any wonder, then, that Style reacts this way?
