okay but I need to yell about this somewhere and tumblr is the only social media platform I actually use.

In may my province is introducing a bill to the table in legislature (Compassionate Intervention Act) that essentially allows people to be sent for "rehabilitative care" against their will if it's deemed that they are in active addiction and a "danger" to themselves/the community because of it. Already sounds Not Great, right?

Well, the act is mainly intended for the rising homeless population. Their intent is that those suffering on the streets from addiction can be scooped up, evaluated, and dropped off at a rehab facility for detox/"treatment" regardless of if they want the help or not. The reality is they're going to use to it to scoop up EVERY homeless person and ship them off. Entering into the "Super Not Great WTF" territory now.

WELL. The government won't disclose where people will be sent. They haven't made plans for any new facilities to be built (besides a new voluntary center) and we don't have any existing infrastructure that could accommodate that kind of care. When prompted by the media or concerned citizens, they say it's TOO EARLY to be thinking about that stuff and there's no plan in place (you're introducing it NEXT MONTH. You should be able to say what the general plan is). We're now at "JFC what is WRONG with you!!!!" level.

WEEELLL, turns out we DO have infrastructure that can handle this kind of program. Our prisons have lots of room. Not to mention, hiring an "addiction specialist" (in quotes because they're not going to hire an actual qualified person) at each prison is WAY cheaper than creating a new properly equipped and staffed facility. So come May, we're all bracing for the announcement that involuntary rehabilitative care will be completed In Prison. They're going to be able to 100% legally move every homeless person to prison for the crime of being homeless and therefore likely on drugs if it's approved.

It really hurt when Hoid respawned after being vaporized and immediately frantically wanted to go back. He's been such a strange character in these 5 books. I've never been able to unhear him saying he'd let Roshar burn before he let Odium free (presuming that is what he meant), but when push came to shove even he admitted that he didn't know if he could do that. He loves that world. He loves the people on it. He didn't want to return because he thought he actually had a chance at stopping Retribution, he wanted to return because people he loved were there and he didn't want them to suffer alone.

It's only after he realizes that Roshar actually has a genuine chance at winning that he stays where he is. Because Dalinar did something wonderful and frightening and brilliant, and Hoid can use that.

He can do more to help by influencing the other worlds to grow in the ways they need to, and trying to convince the other Shards to listen. And so when he does come back to the place and the people he loves, he will be prepared to help them win.

He was on comms, y’know listening and rolling his eyes at Dickwing, who used his real name, really Dick, he mocks. It’s just a stakeout, nothing new there, honestly boring when he could be blowing something up instead. It should have just been a stakeout. 

Yet there’s something suddenly there, something behind him. Something that causes his hair to stand on end and his comms to spark into static like some sort of horror movie. Something, something with clawed hands with corpse-pale skin tipped in black, stained or dead or something else, tilting his head up and up and up as he’s frozen. 

“A child, out here? Alone?” a voice crackles, hisses, hums, and purrs, somehow all at once, unnatural in its tone. Cait gets to go back to her big fancy house as a like tragic hero or whatever with her mom buried in a grave she can still visit and her dad still alive and a girlfriend who'll go down on her no problem despite losing her entire family and turning her back on the home she used to do anything and everything to protect. No sign of remorse not a hint of reparations or doing anything about the stranglehold piltover has on zaun. Gee golly it sure is a mystery why so many people would be put off by this story, riot games company based in california usa with mostly white people in charge

I'm hoping this will finally make Infold release his content from their basement and stop treating him as their cash cow. B/c right now? He is essentially P2W and even for spenders he is extremely difficult to main. Raising his affinity is hell compared to the other LIs. Whaling and R3ing his cards is basically a necessity at this point. Especially if you're a newer player.

It's just not fair and we should all demand better treatment.

(Note: This is NOT a question of asking for MORE Sylus content compared to the other LIs. Most Sylus girlies — myself included — know and accept that Sylus will never truly catch up b/c of him being newer. No, what we're asking for is literally just to have the same amount of stuff that the other 3 had upon release and which Sylus still does not have months after his introduction)
