AU where the Fentons end up with Dan, all of Danny's clones, and a handful of AU Dannys and have to find a way to explain suddenly having so many kids that look like Danny with similar names WHILE avoiding making the GiW suspicious.

Ngl, I don't like how the new movie is changing the backstory. I wanted miner Megatron, I wanted him writing his manifesto, becoming a gladiator, starting a revolution. No atlmodes takes out the whole funtionist society, are at least Megatron's big chunk in it. Also, Bee being the same age as them is a very weird take. I've always seen Bee as being 20 and Megs and OP being in their 50s.
Changing the backstory?? My dude there IS no one backstory in transformers. Megatron hasn’t always been a miner/gladiator/revolutionary leader against functionism. This is a brand new continuity, not IDW or Aligned. For gods sake have we forgotten the LITERAL EVIL BRAINWORMS he had in G1???
I super love new and weird takes on old stuff, in case you’ve forgotten the premise of this blog. I have some qualms maybe but overall I’m excited for this. Also you seem really quick to dismiss the lore and worldbuilding potential of not everyone having tcogs. Limiting tcog use so that “lowly worker bots” don’t have any, and apparently many don’t even have NAMES, sounds like it could absolutely be a dystopic regime, just with a different manner of oppression than functionism.
Basically: tf fans stop expecting new continuities to be exactly like old canons challenge (failed)

Cameron’s ass is crazy bc imagine that you’ve been shown to care so deeply about patients it inhibits your ability to do your job, and the SECOND that you don’t immediately connect with a patient and they don’t openly get upset about their serious diagnosis you’re like “they’re mentally ill and faking it” and then you go and talk to them in the most unprofessional way possible (to the point where it would make House proud), and leave medicine in their room on the hunch that they’re faking their symptoms- and you turn out to be (partially) right.

Attempts at having Babs as Oracle and Batgirl at the same time can’t work because how can Oracle be a living, breathing database if she’s spending so much time on the field? How is she going to be aware of everything everywhere if she’s physically present in one fight instead of in the wind as Oracle?

Also @ my it takes Sharena to break free from the "Gustav was a good man/Father" Askr family unreliable narrator hivemind. That the Main Reason she can't/doesn't is because it's the One Thing that's protecting her. That's stopping her from having a catastrophic world/life fucking breakdown about it. Heavily influenced by her brother and mother's feelings about it.
There's something else, I think Sharena is specifically protecting herself from too. She was Triandra's sister, too.
#feh#IT ALWAYS COMES BACK TO TRIANDRA. FOR ME. FOR SOME REASON.#ALSO. ALSO. when it comes to 'comparing' what 'is/isn't' abuse. something logically ik you can't/shouldn't do#but like. tri/peony's father's ye olde fairytale villain levels of abuse vs gustav's abuse. which is.#so so. like. like i feel like i could meet someone and they could tell me yeah my dad was [insert every gustav trait here]#like. that's not to say the level of abuse tri/peony endured is impossible or realistic. like. it's just a rarer more horrifying case#that reads like an evil stepparent story ala cinderella.#like sliding scale/ends of a spectrum we have gustav (bad dad you can find anywhere dime a dozen)#to triandra's dad (cinderella stepmom levels of abuse but not entirely out of the realm of reality unfortunately just a rare case)#to sombron (literally actual cartoon levels of evil. which also isn't to dismiss anything but like.#he had a bunch of kids and then forced them to kill each other. and then did whatever he did to veyle. who was Lucky#she was too young to participate in the sibling battle royale to the death brawl.)#idk idk. it's like#back when i used to exist i had friends/peers who would talk about their family situations and#it was like. a frame of reference. that's horrible and outright abusive and i'm so sorry you have to go through that.#meanwhile. my own situation. i always describe it as 'stupid and complicated'.#idk idk. i just think sharena's feelings about gustav are more Loadbearing. than anything else.#and she's also like. she loves her brother so much. looks up to him and is inclined to trust/agree w whatever he says#like sharena obvs still has her own feelings/thoughts. but like. alfonse is also just so important to her.#and then there's henriette. who sharena does actively strive to be like. ect ect#idk idk. this is something other than breadcrumbs intsys gives me moldy bread cuts off the mold and tells me#it's safe to eat and that the mold was never there actually. but i remember. i remember the mold.#sharena#fe triandra

A fun thing to discover after coming home from work is that the landscaping guys threw away all of my milkweed stalks and not in the green waste bin that I could theoretically fish them out of. So. I guess I am back to square one on that

Video
tumblr
(gonna attempt to upload this)
I am.  SO SORRY.  For the absolutely appalling quality of this video.  But my Twitch clip feature wasn’t working and gifs didn’t do it justice, and I just HAD to immortalize this husbands moment, so.
Anyway, Liam being on the verge of tears when watching Sam’s masterpiece just gives me a lot of hope and love, and I thought all of you should see it too.

one of the most annoying interactions in the world, to us, is when someone establishes an opinion, people disagree with it, and instead of ignoring or blocking the people who can't mind their own business, the original person decides to become the most annoying person ever to literally everyone else in the interaction. "have you ever-" no, but we have seen the interaction happen very publicly multiple times and it never gets any less annoying. like we don't know how to tell you that acknowledging every comment or argument, no matter how cordial or even shitty, with some shitty snark ass remark is not endearing or funny. it's not going to prove a point to anyone. do you not have better things to do.
#Faye Vents#Faye Complains#it gets even more annoying when the annoying behavior extends even to people who are being respectful#or are just saying shit like ''i like x thing but i still see your point''#one of the interactions that stuck with us that really. solidified our hatred of this behavior.#was someone talking about how everyone who liked a specific brand of character design had bad taste.#''lesbians need to get better taste'' being a comment that stuck with us.#it came across our dash randomly one day.#and we were like ''oh. well; they're using characters from a game we like as an example feels bad but okay; not our problem''#and then we ended up catching just. a couple of reblogs on the chain. some cordial some not.#and just. just. the most infantile responses to them.#which caused us to foolishly look in the notes#and see it's just filled with op going through them and having just hundreds of stupid; infantile replies and reblogs to every single perso#who disagreed with them or called them out on their weird behavior in the notes.#just essentially dozens of jokes that amounted to ''*shits and burps at you* did you hear something'' to literally everything.#like are you 5. do you not have anything better to do.#do you have a job. a hobby. literally anything other than being an annoying shitlord on the internet. nobody thinks you're funny.#we don't know. it stuck with us really hard and it still bugs us to this day.#we don't know why. probably because; again; they used characters we liked as examples to their point. so we felt a little targeted.#we don't know; we needed to complain for 0.2 seconds.

i'm so sad nerd culture has been corporatized because it's so accessible that it's been cheapened.
i don't mean this in a gatekeepy way; if i wanted a poster of fanart of, say, welcome to nightvale, i'd have to order it from the artist or buy it at a con or draw the damn thing myself.
now, fanart is still being made but i can log onto any of the various chinese sites (including amazon) and get a poorly manufactured print of someone's art without ever having the artist themself involved or paid. and i'll have a low quality wall hanging. and because it's so accessible, i can do this 50 times. cover a wall in it. overpay for something i could make on my home printer, get none of the satisfaction or human experience, but cultivate the aesthetic of that particular wall.
and it's completely loveless
there's no joy to the discovery of cheap crap on amazon that will fit the ~vibe~ i'm going for. there's no passion when i order a stack of ten arts that go together because they scream "nerdy" and use catchphrases that were played out in 2010.
i go to events and see people reselling stickers they got off wish for a dollar apiece, when the 50 pack was a dollar.
it's all so soulless
so when i say nerd culture sucks now, i don't mean "aaaa too many people i don't like have discovered that cool stuff is actually cool" like people love to pretend is the problem (though we can discuss the neurotypical invasion and subsequent ousting of autistics from traditionally social-reject circles later) the problem is that capitalism has sucked the joy out of it. 42 isn't an in-joke, it's a brand slogan at this point. everything is "wibbly wobbly" now. merchandise featuring d20s is some of the most popular cheap shitgifts you can get for holidays. everyone has seen how dragons consider you good with ketchup.
it's exhausting. none of the cheap crap is special. the market is oversaturated.
and now when i say i like xyz show, even though i liked it for 20 years, people do the whole "name three of their songs" type shit because they expect fandom to be so commodified that we have to be experts on every nuance if we've enjoyed something (or even loved it passionately) for so long. i haven't seen much doctor who past matt smith, but i've seen a shitload of baker and davison. being weird at me because i don't have an opinion on clara when i've only seen her twice is just obnoxious. because now, everyone's experience with a show or fandom is supposed to have some kinda alignment. when i was coming up, some of us had seen episodes others hadn't because they were still missing, or had to be torrented, or we went out of our way to find them, so every fan had a personal and unique relationship with the franchise. that just makes you out of touch now. if you haven't got all the info the youtube digests feed viewers, or the tiktok trends spread, you're a poser. if you don't like 5th ed d&d, you're boring and old. if you enjoy THAC0 you're a weirdo; but in a few years when the hipster zoomers discover it you can bet that my inability to calculate it myself will mean that i'm the poser.
i want the experience of having to order my specialty weeb shit from japan. i miss finding the vhs tapes of episodes of shows that didn't air anymore. yeah, that shit was more expensive back then, but it also meant that there was less drive to consume for all of it. each individual item i found was a special treasure, and that's just not the case anymore.

I know from friends that spending hundreds of dollars on makeup is a thing that people do but I just spent $200 on 15 of the one long-discontinued lip colour that I actually like and i feel like an insane person

Hey squad, I just got emotional over one of my least problematic fav classics hero, Odysseus, and how he went to war for a decade because he loved his family and how he spent the next decade searching for that family and how his family had such faith that he would crawl back to them that they waited the twenty years for him.

The last family reunion of my mom’s family was wild, not because of the reunion itself, but because afterwards my brothers and i were like “is that how normal extended families act? Unironically where was the gaslighting and gatekeeping?” And that’s how my world view was shaken about how a big family reunion doesn’t always have to have a few “gaslight gatekeep” people who make things around them more complicated and awkward
