I'm luke warm on Veilguard thus far. I don't hate it, but it hasn't really impressed me either. This is my first impression as of today.

It's pretty. The character creator is really great - that's the biggest highlight for me. Overall, I like the visuals. They obviously don't do mocap, and the mouths are always noticeably off.

The combat is a bit repetitive. Nothing particularly new or interesting to set it apart from the last game. I still like Origins' gameplay best. The menus work pretty well, but I feel like that isn't anything special.

The voice acting is a major weak point. So much of it sounds like a bland anime. The dialog is also very bland, which is unfortunate because so much of DA has had really great dialog. Even Varric is bland. I'm hoping some of it will get better farther into the game. I also don't need so much commentary from the companions on what I'm supposed to be doing, especially since so much of it is really simple and obvious.

The environments are really pretty. I'll give them that. I'm not a fan of the overly simplistic or cartoony ways in which we interact with chests, pick up gold, or items. It feels like it was made for 10 year olds. I don't need everything over explained.

It's buggy on PC. It's crashed three times, I can't run it on ultra without a bunch of lag, and my machine absolutely should handle it, no problem. Controllers seem to be totally bugged and don't work for me despite tons of troubleshooting (I'm not the only one). Sometimes controls don't work at all and I have to restart.

So, 5/10 so far from me. I'm hoping they will fix some bugs, and I'll get deeper in and like it more... but I already liked the last 3 a lot more this far in the first time I played.

This has got to be the biggest sketchpage of this kind I've done in a long while. Besides the obvious self-indulgence, I did have a lot of fun with posing and body language, as much of that as you can see in the cheeky crops!
