WOW. WtF? I used to work for a therapuetic horse barn where the disableds rode the horses. I am a disableds now and was talking to my therapist about how I missed doing the grooming and stable care and didn't want to ride but body no able to do tasks good. I researched barns in my area to see if they had a program for grooming and stable care and only one of them had one and it was directed at developmental/autism disability. They all let you ride a horse. They should let you ride the horses goddamn it. We have the technology.
My mental health clinic is going to have a "disability and chronic illness equine therapy workshop" and my therapist was super excited to tell me about this because I've expressed my desperation for some sort of physical disabled community and by God I may no longer be a girl by age or gender but damn it all if I wasn't a horse girl in my youth
Anyway I got the email about it yesterday and it costs sixty dollars and instead of riding horses our disabled asses will be taking care of them like stable care and grooming and such and I think the mental health clinic forgot what "disabled" means
#and like not pay to do an activity#that ableds get paid to do#like I learned to ride at a therapy barn for teens#and we groomed the horses and did stable care before and after riding#but we got to ride#that was a mental health directed barn#and we used to give pony rides to the local kids a couple times a year#disability#queer

Prompt: Sneaking away for a date on an alien planet.
Shiro, romantic goofball extraordinaire, insists, that they have dates regularly. Because they used to have them back at the Garrison --force Matt to cover for them-- and anything that feels like normalcy is non-negotiable when you're fighting a war in space.
And it's kind of really fun to see if they can sneak out of the Castle of Lions without setting off any of the dozens of alarms or sensors like they're both grounded teenagers. They always meet at a pod, and alternate who picks the destination.
It's hard to find planets where they won't be recognized as paladins that aren't also not under Galra rule. But usually they can. Tiny planets or ones with no real resources. Or sometimes they find a space hub. Those are always an adventure.
They have traditions. Always take a picture. Always try a new food. Always bring back a plant.
There a small photo album back on the castle, full of pictures from earth dates. Matt had started it when they'd stolen his phone one spring break, and they'd added to it. And there was a holochip slipped in one of the sleeves now, chronicling their weird alien planet dates.
Food was a crap shoot. Half the time it ended up amazing, and the other half they ended up sick, or with blue rashes or lumpy tongues. It was always funny though.
Shiro had begun collecting tiny plants in his room and in Blacks hangar. Little succulent like things, or vines, or tiny flowering trees. He found them therapuetic. The ones that weren't gifts from Keith were found or bought on dates.
So when they find a planet that literally looks like Candy Land they have to go. Bubblegum pink seas and creamscicle colored clouds and pastel flora and fauna. Neither of them like sweets terribly much, but it's trippy as heck and it's really just the colors anyways. They find amphibian looking street venders selling bags of soft pastries that look safe to eat and are sorely disappointed to learn they taste like overly salted potatoes.
They take a picture. An overly cheesy couple's photo of Shiro kissing Keith's cheek. On a bench at the market by a flower stall that makes for a pretty backdrop. Keith is grinning and leaning into Shiro.
Plants are always the hardest. But they find one. A tiny reed plant rooted loosley in bright orange soil tinged pink by riverwater. It's stalks are a foamy green color and the bulb at the top is a plush purple.
They find an empty cup to take it home in and spend the next while tugging each other from one stall to the next, laughing at each other when they try on hats and discreetly playing grabass to get the other to yelp.
They eventually tire themselves out and Keith curls up on Shiro's lap for the ride back to the castle. They don't both sneaking back in. Never do. Allura and Coran scold them good naturedly and Lance and Matt wax dramatic about their duty to date night being more important than their duty to the universe.
It earns them A Look from Shiro and an eyeroll from Keith. Hunk tells them to stop being antagabros and asks if the planet had anything cool, Pidge catalogues the plant into the ships system, and eventually they're all tucked into each other in the lounge playing whatever ancient Altean game Coran has unearthed for them.
And if they fully intend to meet each other back at the pod to sneak out for part 2 then no one is the wiser.

Why does FL keep repeating the story that she caught you shooting up steroids when she thought you weren't using them anymore? Is this true? And the micro dosing accusation too? I personally couldn't give a rat's ass if you took steroids. And please clarify why you use the explanation that if you were micro dosing, as she claims, it has not helped your power data? I don't understand the connection. And can micro dosing also create a lean look without bulk?
1. She just wants to distract her audience from the fact she DID and it looks like she CONTINUES to do botox and other cosmetic injections hence the heavy filters in her photos.
2. Ive done SO many videos explaining what I took, why I took it, how much and for how long. Im not hiding anything and people only know because I told them FIRST.
3. Freelee LIED to my face over and over about her botox. I told her BEFORE I took anything that I wanted to do an experiment for youtube and personal curiosity to see how PED’s work and what it feels like. I told my audience BEFORE they knew. I was NEVER caught out like she claims. FL thought I was going to become this steroid hulk so she asked me to stop but I had already stopped as my riding was getting affected as I was gaining weight too rapidly and my climbing and running SUCKED because the steroids bloat you out.
Then I got some jaw surgery in BKK so used a therapeutic amount before the operation. I didnt tell FL because I didnt want an arguement but when she asked me straight up I did say I did and explained my reasons. The irony is she lied to be the ENTIRE time about botox except for one time when she admitted it and promised it was the last time. (she lied about that and also lied to her mum.)
4. My conclusion with AAS is if you are a runner or cyclist then they will make you slow as fuck on the steep climbs or marathons. If you are a bodybuilder/sprinter than they are essential and that is why ALL the fake natties use them yet deny it because of sponsor/fan backlash. If you are recovering from bone surgery they will help your healing massively if taken in therapuetic amounts.
5. Taking AAS is the same as taking contraceptive pill etc in that it WILL shut down your HPG axis so BE WARNED!
6. Do I regret taking them? Yes and no. Yes I regret it as they made me slow as fuck on the climbs and in running and created conflict in my relationship at the time.
No I don’t regret as I got to exposed how easy/cheap they are to get from the local family doctor and I quenched my personal curiosity of how some PED’s work, why and for how long. I also got to educate my viewers with videos that got many millions of views in total and still continue to bring new people to my content.

@gatorfisch Yep, the Spanish horse lines are OLD, and I love me an Andalusian or Iberian (also called PREs, for Pura Rasa Espanolia, if I didn’t butcher the spelling), but the Spanish horses were moved and interbred so much that you can find Spanish in lots of breeds that started as PREs. Actually the Argentinian Criollo (pronounced kinda like kree-yo-yo) is it’s own breed, but they formed out of a herd of something like 50 or 150 PREs that were brought to Argentine a couple centuries or less ago, the politics changed and the breeder who owned them fell from favor, the PREs were released into the wild, and less than 200 years later, they are their own recognized breed. Similar story with Paso Finos, I think they came from Puerto Rico out of PRE bloodlines, but are now its own breed.
Wild ponies like Shetlands and the island ponies off the coast here in NC, and some few others, like probably Mongolian horses, yeah those are likely to be very close to the original Horse that humans bred from. Draft horses are great and hardy, they are actually WAY more calm than the smaller newer breeds like Thoroughbreds/Arabs/ect, and they can even be used for sport horses... my favorite breed, Freisians, are Drafts who have had some lines bred a bit smaller for sporting (mostly you see them in Dressage and Freisian breed shows-- and Oh God their Dressage is just sublime). There is a lot of history of the Horse that I’m still learning, but honestly, outside of the breeds we brought up, yeah most are ‘pretty’ but not very hardy at all. Even ranch stock-horse breeds! If they were in the wild, they would have as much misery as Mustangs have in the wild, b/c they are just not supposed to be there, doing that. They are literal mutants, and sadly they suffer greatly without a LOT of human intervention.
I worked for lessons as a preteen, and even now, being disabled with a spinal injury, I find ways to work so that I still get to ride. A mix of me being tough as fuck, and the local horse community having some truly incredible, wonderful people who are willing to give a handicapped girl her horse fix. I started back riding in Therapuetic Riding after my spinal injury/surgeries, and it, literally, saved my life. I did my first 2 Dressage shows a couple years ago (had some injuries and illnesses since that I am now finally rehabbing my way back from!), I hope to continue competing b/c I absolutely love it, it’s such a blast. I just do local schooling shows, but oh it’s so much fun.
Maybe one day I’ll work my up to the Paralympics, they do have Para-Dressage. :) Nice chatting about ponies with ya (I call all horses ‘ponies’ as endearment), always a fave topic! There is so much to learn that I will never know enough, so now I’m feeling interested in taking a deep dive one night soon into reading more about the origin point where we started creating pretty but batshit crazy and delicate breeds for sport/racing. I would say war too, but I’m actually not positive what breeds were being used from say, the Roman Empire all through to WW1. I’m gonna have to research that.

From Left: Ian Kelly, Carol Vanderbosch, John Blackburn, Nancy Easter White, and Matt Himler
Fall has arrived and barns amidst the bright foliage are one of hunt country’s most beloved sights! Their equine facilities are state-of-the-art and unique in their emphasis on light and ventilation, and their efforts to link their architecture closely with the natural surroundings is unparalleled.

Private Ranch, Montana
Blackburn’s reach does not limit itself however, and extends overseas to the Greek island of Corfu. There, Blackburn has been asked to create a master plan for a new therapuetic riding facility for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. The plan includes an equestrian center with covered arena, public observation area, four five-stall barns, tack rooms, cafe, offices, amphitheater, community center with meeting rooms, dining facility, pool, and residential community with 25 two-bedroom bungalows.

Dressage, Barrels, and Trotting Along
Yesterday was my first visit back to the farm since my family and I came back from our trip to New York! I had an absolutely amazing time there and even got to visit the National Museum of Racing and Racing Hall of Fame at Saratoga Springs Racetrack. Even though the trip was amazing, I missed Sonic terribly and was anxious to get back to riding, so when my family and I arrived to the farm I raced over to the stable to see my favorite boy! Someone was leading Sonic out of his stall when I got to the barn, and they lead him over to me so that I could pet him. His nose was soft and fuzzy, and Sonic loved every minute of the attention. After our little love fest, I lead him over to the arena gate and then drove myself over to the arena gate so that I could get mounted.
Today’s lesson was absolutely awesome because I had the arena all to myself and got to practice my favorite thing, dressage! A single rider in the arena is a rarity at the farm because there are so many participants. Lessons are usually held with at least three or sometimes four riders in the arena at once, just a little fun fact for all you readers out there about the farm, or my second home as I like to call it!
For dressage practice Sonic and I were first guided through the test we were asked to perform and then taken off the lead to execute it ourselves. The test went like this: Begin at A, go up the center line to X, halt salute at X, continue down the center line to C, track right at C, following the rail along the right side of the arena all the way down to H and then A. At A make a 20 meter circle. Once that is done, change rein at K and let the horse walk freely down the diagonal to the arena to M. Once at M, track left to C and perform a 20 meter circle at C. After the 20 meter circle, change rein at H and do another free walk down the diagonal to F. At F, track right to A and go up the center line to X. At X halt and give the final salute.
I love doing dressage because it is challenging for both horse and rider. The rider has to take command and memorize the test, making sure to guide the horse in the proper direction. The horse is challenged because they have to learn how to perform movements precisely and completely instead of cutting corners, and many of the movements require the horse to do things they wouldn’t do on a normal basis, like making tight circles.
The dressage test wasn’t all Sonic and I did that day, we also did some trotting through the arena! This was something I was nervous to do because the last time I attempted to trot with Sonic I almost fell, even though there was someone leading him and jogging alongside us. But you know what they say, If you fall off the horse you gotta get back on! I made sure to sit up really tall and deeply in the saddle, and it really helped! I was so happy that I was able to trot without any issues this time, and I’m really excited to keep working on it and get better :) Unfortunately, my parents didn’t get any pictures o f me trotting on Sonic and I really wish I could show you all what I looked like while doing it, but here’s a gif of a horse trotting to make up for it :)
For the last little bit of the lesson, my instructor showed me how to properly round the barrels like they do for barrel racing at rodeos :). A friend had taught me how before, but I still listened carefully to the instructor just to make sure I still remembered. There were three barrels set up in a V shape in the arena. The general pattern for rounding the barrels is this: start at the rightmost barrel (the tip of the v) and make a left hand circle around it, then go to the one directly across from it (the other tip of the V) and circle to the right around it. Lastly, make a right circle around the final barrel. I didn't get to love on Sonic much after our lesson because he had another right after me, but I did give him a quick pat on the nose and a hug for doing so well <3
I am so happy with all the progress i have made since I started riding, and even though it is sometimes slower than I would like, it is progress nonetheless. Sometimes I feel like I will never be as well rounded as some of my other friends that ride, but I know I will be someday, I won’t give up! That reminds me if any of you out there are struggling with something and you feel like giving up, I beg you please don’t! It is the worst thing you can do for yourself because it will only make you feel a greater sense of defeat and remorse later. You are stronger than anything life throws at you, remember that!
Love,
Bry

Stable Mates Day
Saturday June 10th was a day I will never forget. The reason why? Because that was the day I got to make my public speaking debut at Stable Mates: an annual event held by Quantum Leap Farm annually to thank donors for their support of the equine programs and therapy horses. There was food, pony painting, cookie decorating, and face painting. Of course, the highlight of the day was the presentations given by each of the three programs at Quantum Leap Farm: hippotherapy, therapuetic riding, and the AT E.A.S.E: Warrior Mission Retreats.
To my surprise and delight, I had the honor of speaking about the theraputic riding program atop Sonic’s back, with founder Edie Dopking at my side for moral support. Getting to share my experience in the program with the ones that had helped me achieve so much within it at my side made it even more special. This program has truly changed my life, and the only regret I have about it is that I didn’t find it sooner! The farm is my second home, and since I came there I can’t imagine my life without it. I have made so many new friends (two-legged and four legged!) and have gained a confidence both in life and as a rider that I would never have found without it. I am so grateful to my parents and everyone who has supported me on this journey, because I wouldn’t be doing this without them. Check out photos from the event below! The video will be in a seperate post <3
