This past February, our founder and CEO, @patriciaekelly (a Marine vet), testified at a Veterans' Affairs Committee public hearing at the Legislative Office Bldg (LOB) in Hartford and spoke about the need for equine therapy access at centers in urban areas to discourage any more gatekeeping within equine therapeutic spaces. It is crucial that Black and Brown veterans in urban areas have knowledge of and access to equine therapy centers in their communities and they need it with culturally competent mental health professionals who can effectively work with them without bias.
