Whew, what a question! It's like asking who your favourite child is...

Haha, I kid, I kid! I do like and am proud of most of my fics, so this is a little tricky. I'm going to cheat a bit and pick three, but they all fill slightly different niches so I think it's in keeping with the spirit of the question!

So the first is You-Like - this was my first fic which I wrote for this fandom nearly three years ago, and essentially was the catalyst for meeting so many brilliant people. It follows a deltarune player replaying the acid tunnel sequence from chapter 2 ad addresses the possibility that Ralsei is trying to communicate directly with them. You can choose to see it as autobiographical if you wish, but I shall never tell :3

Second is The Night Before The End Of The World, my first and currently only stab at writing polyamoury - though don't expect it to be the last! It's shameless Kris/Ralsei/Susie fluff set just before the final confrontation with the Knight/the Roaring. Honestly, over the years Kralsusie has become my second favourite ship in this fandom - first being Kralsei, of course, haha.

And speaking of, my last nomination is A Heart, Frozen in Time. Originally meant to be a three-part fluff piece about Kris and Ralsei finding themselves in a snowy dark world, it quickly expanded into a seven-chapter epic filled with angst, hurt/comfort, life-threatening injuries, true love, and a climactic showdown with one of my favourite original characters to date. Give it a read if you're at all interested, I guarantee you'll enjoy it :)

Here's something I'm interested in: Are there any genres of entertainment that you avoid? They can be medium-specific or genres in general.

I don't have any genres that I'm suspicious of besides romance, so I'm interested to see what your thoughts are on the matter.

I'm really not a fan of crime thrillers, in any medium or context. Particularly not those who focus near-exclusively on gratuitous murders or other such crimes. For similar reasons, I also don't really like true crime documentaries, and don't really understand the fascination with trying to get into the heads of people who commit those sorts of horrible acts. More power to people who do like that, but it's absolutely not my cup of tea, haha.

Other than that though, most genres are fair game, particularly where it comes to literature or games. For films and TV, anything overly-dramatic or gratuitous really doesn't do it for me - see why I couldn't watch Game of Thrones post-Red Wedding.

Will you ever upload all chapters of The Dark Menagerie on AO3? It's a bit frustrating to have them all on Tumblr, but only about 4/5 of them on the Archive.

I do know, though, that many people might prefer to read them all on Tumblr, and this site has quite a few conveniences compared to AO3. I'm just interested if you're willing to do this.

Yeah, I keep meaning to upload the rest of them to AO3, but I'm never quite able to get around to it, haha. I did use to upload them five at a time, when I remembered to, but I think I wanted to spread out the updates a bit more so people subscribed to me wouldn't get bombarded by email notifications! That's part of the reason why I don't want to upload all of them at once too! XD But yeah, I hear you about how frustrating it can be. Obviously not everyone who follows me there uses Tumblr, and vice versa, so it'd be nice for everyone to be able to see all of them without having to go out of their way. I'll sort out an upload schedule and try and get them all up soon!

I've just realised something rather sad about myself - the number of times that the fires of inspiration have ignited white-hot in my brain, the idea for a compelling new story or essay that screams at me to be told; but I am either busy with work, having to take care of the house, or too tired to do anything with it, and then that fire peters out, grows cold and dies.

It has happened so many times to me, just this past year. I cannot seem to maintain my passion for a story idea. Inspiration seems to strike at exactly the wrong place, or at the wrong time, and the heavy steamroller that has become my life, lurching ever forward under its own clumsy momentum, moves straight over it, flattening it out of existence. And by the time I'm able to actually consider the smouldering remains of that idea, the vital spark has already departed from it, leaving me with a leaden husk that refuses to bend to my will.

The graveyard containing all the stories I never got the chance to tell grows ever larger behind me. And as the stories I one day hope to tell blink into life before me, only to be snuffed out like so many stars in the wake of the morning sun, I sometimes wonder if I'll ever be able to capture that flame again, to inspire others as I have been inspired.

For what kind of a storyteller is it that can no longer seem to tell any stories? What care can be afforded to a wordsmith who seems to have completely run out of words?

...and yet, when confronted once more by that yearning fire, burning a frenzied dance in my head... what else can I do except try, try, try to reach for it, even knowing that my effort already seems destined to failure? The boulder shall always fall back to its starting point; yet I am compelled, if not condemned, to push it ever forward.

Perhaps that's all it ever was. Perhaps not. I don't think I'm qualified to say, honestly.
