I made Opal when I was about 11 years old and I wanted to redraw him because they where actually my first ever oc, he originally started off as a character I'd put in vent art(keep in mind I was 10-11 when I made him) so he got me through a rlly hard time in my life so I thought he deserved to be drawn again.

They has gone through LOTS of different design that I will show when I find the books I drew them in, all I can remember is that he went through lots of different genders lmao (he's been from boy to girl on to meny occasions lol) so that's why I gave him the prns I did, because he started off as a boy but I could never land on a gender for them so he gose by he/him and they/them

His personality is based of off baby bendy from bendy and the dark revival but he's mute for a different respon. I always drew them in comics when I was little but he would never talk in any of these comics so I thought it would be a nice detail to add to his design ^^

oppie didnt change much i put a black outline around him anyway cause. idk thought it looks okay. fun fact, just oppies head. almost as big as the entire megs drawing. why? cause i have no foresight and never intend to get any.

Unpopular Opinion #1: Alice being an android cheapened the story for me. It was much more beautiful that an android was capable of loving a human child as her own. Yeah, I get that's the message of the game, but it still cheapened the story. 

Unpopular Opinion #2 Markus being the one to deviate Connor is completely ridiculous. You're telling me a total stranger was able to deviate Connor and not someone he's close to?

Unpopular Opinion #3 The fact that literally everyone hates androids is ridiculous. People name their roombas and cried at Oppy's last transmission. There would be a lot of android lovers and you know it. 

Unpopular Opinion #4 Alice's concept art was way better than the Alice we got in game. 

Unpopular Opinion #5 There should have been a reference to Heavy Rain like there was in Beyond Two Souls. Like hello? ARI technology? Sounds like the perfect framework for androids if you ask me. 

Unpopular Opinion #6 The interaction with Alexa should have been for the whole game and not just the demo. 

Unpopular Opinion #7 Amanda isn't evil. Everyone seems to forget that she's an a.i. following a program. She should have had a chance to deviate as well. 

Unpopular Opinion #8 The allusion to the Holocaust and concentration camps was totally unnecessary, and in bad taste. 

Unpopular Opinion #9 Markus x North doesn't work as a relationship. A friendship? Maybe. Relationship? No.

Unpopular Opinion #10 Nines isn't evil. He had what five minutes of screen time? How did the fandom decide he's evil in five minutes? 

People keep pointing out this part in the notes. At the time this was written, Nines was portrayed as an evil murder bot in the Fanfictions that people were writing back then. He isn’t portrayed that way anymore in fics, but he was at the time.

Though it's never addressed, I think upgrades for androids to eat exist. They already can drink, so why not have upgrades to eat? Especially considering the upgrades for *a-hem* genitalia.

Unpopular Opinion #16 [Trigger Warning: Suicide Mention] Deviant Connor should have been able to talk Hank out of committing suicide. Machine Connor I get why he couldn't talk him out of it. Deviant Connor I don't. 

Unpopular Opinion #17 It should have been possible to deviate Cyberlife Tower Connor. It would have brought the message that the game is trying to spread to the forefront when the player sees RK800-60 deviate before their very eyes. 

Unpopular Opinion #18 The fact that all the androids are designed to look young boggles my mind. Especially caretaker types. You're telling me nobody would design a caretaker type to look like a Grandma? Come on.

Here’s a fan servant based on Mars Rover Spirit, I was inspired to write this by gaining inspiration @transjinako fan servant of Mars Rover Opportunity, it’s long under the cut

Servant Class Alter-ego: This servant’s class represents what could have been if there was more time for the A.I. within to grow, and the wish to continue to explore and discover things not yet reachable by humankind

Design: Similar to Servant Oppy first form, but has cracks up her right leg and right arm (of which has sparks coming off of it)

Animation: It shows the flat peak overlooking the Gusev crater then panning up to see the 2 moons, Phobos and Deimos, in the night sky with a couple of shooting stars

Description: It’s one of the important events, Spirit being the first rover to climb a mountain, and spirit took a panoramic photo and watch the 2 moons that circle mars to determine their orbits better, and to watch for a predicted meteor shower, with possibly 4 streaks to be meteors, but couldn’t be differentiated from cosmic rays 

History: In the timeline where Spirit was created, for whatever reason, she was shaped into a girl. 

Either to create kinship with her, or to imagine humanity themselves in Spirit, it doesn’t matter now. Its cool, and that’s all that matters. 

Spirit’s 7 year journey, made of hardships after hardships, and during each hardship the support of the staff on earth helping her out, giving her advice each step of the way. When the joint in her leg broke, they told her how to support herself properly. When her memory started to malfunction, they helped and fixed it. When she made it to the top of husband hill, they showed her the beauty of the landscape and the night sky.

Every step of this journey filled with discoveries and sights, she became enamored with it all, continuing to move forward, looking forward to what’s next, what the next big find is, day after day, never having enough. Even when she got trapped by a slick sand pit, slowly losing power, slowly losing time, she wanted to continue. To see sights, unknowable to anybody else.

Day after day, to the very end, she kept wanting, wishing, to continue her mission.

Description: Spirit is a 7 year old robot in the shape of a girl. She’s extremely cautious, talking to no one she doesn’t know, and observing everything. Due to having a short life as an A.I., and not having much experience in dealing with emotional situations, she’s not very good with communication. Over time she start’s to talk more, but mainly with questions and answers, as well as help around with safer tasks. Relatively good-mannered with an unknown growth, how will she turn out once she learns how to communicate.

End for now, i’ll add on to this with the attack animations, ascension designs, and conversations with other servants(some fan made ones to) and about herself in the next segment.

5. TFP Decepticon (Leaning towards Knockout or Starscream) dealing with Ballerina Reader being taken from them by the Autobots. While with the Autobots, Reader is scared and panicky, just wanting to go back to their parent because they’re scared of the Autobots

6. TFA Ratchet with an older Human S/O (about early 50′s) who was ex-military with a prosthetic arm and leg. They reminisce together on old scars and stories, of friends they had to leave behind but never forgot

7. TFA Optimus (with small cameo of Ratchet) walk in on Sari and her Human friend crying / looking absolutely devastated. The human friend explains “Little Oppy died, and we just read her last words to the NASA scientists...”

8. TFA Bulkhead with a Human artist S/O, where during an art share / cuddle session, Bulkhead goes through his s/o’s sketchbook and sees doodles and sketches of the autobots and decepticons with goofy notes (such as “Starscream? More like Bitchscream”), but Bulkhead’s the one who dominates over all the others with little hearts and several notes like ‘gorgeous optics’ ‘handsome boi’ ‘Absolute Unit of Love’

9. TFA Bumblebee and Human S/O go for a late night drive, where human S/O ends up falling asleep in Bumblebee’s alt-mode because of how relaxing and warm he is. When they arrive at S/O’s place they wake and give Bumblebee’s steering wheel a little goodnight kiss

10. TFP Wheeljack and an easily flustered Human musician S/O, who begins to play their ukulele and sing little love songs to him for the first time, as a way to try and get back at him for all of his flirting and making them flustered constantly. At some point the S/O asks to be picked up to give him kisses

11. TFP Ratchet with a human charge that insists on learning Cybertronian biology to help with the bots when they get hurt, but Ratchet kinda doubts his charge can really understand it all. But his charge is stubborn and won’t budge. He even finds them late at night, reading through data files at his work station to learn how to. Old Doc Bot is touched that they’re so determined, so he finally gives in and teaches them about his people

12. TFP Arcee and Human Reader, where Arcee has a nightmare at the base and the reader (Who’s spending the night) goes to talk to her about it since they were up anyways and they find the night peaceful

13. TFP Optimus Prime and Human Reader, with Reader helping Optimus come out of his shell and shows him how to have fun despite being a Prime

14. TFA Starscream kidnaps the Human Ally of the Autobots, hoping for information. Instead, the human doesn’t take him seriously, taking to playfully flirting / teasing him

15. TFP Arcee and “human” friend, but “human” friend turns out to be an android. She thinks they’re just a responsible, anti-social human who takes care of the kids and helps them, until she sees them bleed blue instead of red

16. TFP Knockout and Human S/O or Friend: Knockout trying to cheer up self-conscious Reader, telling them how beautiful they are and how much he loves them

17. TFP Predaking and a human S/O, the human having to explain (organic) affection to him and show him things like kissing, hugging, and dates

18. TFA Blurr having a spark to heart with his human s/o about his insecurities and inner feelings, but still wanting to do better in their relationship

Roy Manning Fowler

Roy Manning Fowler, 83, of Spartanburg, SC passed away peacefully in his sleep at the RoseCrest Retirement Community on Monday, May 25, 2020, after giving his loving wife of 59 years a last goodnight kiss. Roy was born on June 5, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of Anne Garner Painter and Sease Manning Fowler. He was also raised and loved by his step-father, Treavor M. Painter. His grandparents were Will and Sula Garner and Jonas and Oppie Fowler. Roy graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1954 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Presbyterian College where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. In 1966, he received an M.A.T. in English from Converse College and then went on to receive his M.Ed. in Education from the University of South Carolina in 1977. His career in education spanned many decades beginning as an English teacher at North Hall High School in Gainesville, GA. He later was employed by Spartanburg District Three Schools where he served as a teacher, Federal Programs Coordinator, Adult Education Director, Principal of Broome High School, and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Personnel. He was also a member of the American Association of School Administrators for 25 years. After retiring from District 3, Roy served as an adjunct instructor at Spartanburg Technical College and also at Converse College where he supervised student teachers in the State Critical Needs Program. In addition, Roy was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he taught the Builders Sunday School Class for many years. During his later years of life he took up running and ran in many races. He loved traveling, walking his dog Katie, and supporting the Atlanta Braves and SC Gamecocks. His most treasured time; however, was spent with his family and friends. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Pat Bradford Fowler; children, Molly Fowler Haulbrook (Jeff) and Mark Bradford Fowler (Julie), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Mahlon Haulbrook Cameron (Bretton) of Greenville, SC, Kelsey Fowler Smith (Tay) of Greer, SC, and Ryan Bradford Fowler of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchild, Ayden Smith of Greer, SC; and a sister, Angelina Painter Eschauzier of Spartanburg, SC. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, the Staff at the RoseCrest Community, and special caregivers, Annette McDowell and Jacqueline Lyles for all their loving care and attention. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. David Smith. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Oppikoppi 2017- Me Now The Mango Picker.

Oppikoppi 2017. What can I say, where can I start? Let’s start at the beginning. The “about tab” on the Oppikoppi facebook page describes the utter chaos that is Oppikoppi quite well, “Turn the chaos of being a South African into a beautiful dusty necessity”.

Oppikoppi is a music festival held in Northam, Limpopo (for the more uninformed readers), this festival started in 1994 and it has played host to numerous hard-hitting boner inducing bands like Billy Talent, Sum 41, The Used, Bullet for my Valentine, Seether, Eagles of Death Metal, Wolfmother and many more. This festival was primarily a rock festival but over the 23 years of its existence it has undergone an evolution to include all types of music and oddities.

Now this year’s edition of the festival, Me now, the Mango picker, was intended to be no different.  However it had a major twist to it, rain. The management this year got big names like, Two Door Cinema Club, who released a new CD in 2016 (yeah I also didn’t know that), The Naked and Famous, who I have never heard of before this year’s festival (Not their fault) and Lastly Flume who is a world renown DJ.

This was definitely enough to attract a full crowd and to leave them with a more than satisfyable stiffy. Unfortunately this crowd came in, in drips and drabs due to the fairly new addition of day tickets. I personally believe that this years’ pulling power came from a more familiar source. This was the South African hit makers Mafikizolo, Carlo Mombelli and the international sensation Black Coffee. (Lile this praragraph)

Being a “seasoned” oppikopier (4th year in a row) I could definitely feel a major change in the general vibe and style of the festival this might be due to the band selection, new bars or a change in management. We all know people love change, right? This confusion was highlighted by a few oppikoppi veterans dissatisfaction primarily aimed at the headlining band selection as well as an increase in crime in Mordor (Crime is not new to the people who frequent Mordor).

Where with previous oppi’s, like Odyssey, the band selection was on point! I mean WOLFMOTHER come on! This was one of my all- time favourite rock shows! I mean girl on guy’s shoulders flashing. What more could you want. This might have set the bar quite high.  

My oppikoppi experience started with the flood gates of heaven opening, we could off just as well arrived in a row boat. But once it cleared up and the music started it felt like a normal day at oppikoppi, with some of my favourite South African bands like, The Tazers, Hellcats, BOXER, Pollinator and The Black Cat Bones. My night ending off with one of my favourite, if not my favourite, South African band: FUZIGISH. Their explosive ska rock always tends to get me out of my clothes (do with that what you will), and this show was no different. I danced, and for lack of a better word “air punched” until I couldn’t move, which led to Maricia (that girl that follows me around) having to carry me back to our tent. DAY 1= GOOD DAY, OPPI 1, Foord 0.

The next morning I arose, battered, beat and moaning like a little bitch (according to my tent friends). And as I had my traditional early morning stroll to the bathroom, I absorbed and enjoyed the variety of faces around me, only to be rudely awoken by my expected ailment (the prophesised hangover). This part never leaves any participant with a semi. But after my breakfast of half a rusk and a cup of coffee we started again. This time round we started with the comedy stage which I feel is a welcomed addition to the dust filled chaos. On day two, I really enjoyed The Ceramics (REALLY COOL), Jerry and the Bandits, Jack Mantis Band and Bye Beneco. At this stage the rain started and that ended my day 2. The rain was a dominant figure at this year’s festival and I believe it acted as a major deterrent for the festival, but trading the dust for mud created a welcoming cooler atmosphere. Now the rain was unfortunate, but I personally believe they could have gotten different headlining international bands for day two, this has become a bit of a trend, but I probably don’t really have a say.  

When I woke on day 3 I was ready to party again. We saw majorly cool bands like Deon Bakkes and the Stolen Horses, Moonga K, an interesting affair called Intergalactic lovers, as well as one of my personal favourites and Oppikoppi musts, Albert Frost. Desmond and the Tutus also had a majorly rad show. Now me not being a  big (gebruik major te veel) house or EDM fan, I sat through a bit of Black Coffee and the majority of Flume’s set. I wasn't really drunk enough to immerse myself into Flume’s show, but he had some of the coolest lights and background art which I feel is majorly important at big shows. I could really appreciate his skill as a performer, I mean he could really control the crowd, and that gives me a semi!

What I enjoyed from Black Coffee, and this I also read in another review( The Grind Radio), was the comradery and welcoming feeling of a new South Africa, where everyone is welcome to enjoy the safe space and judge free zone that is oppikoppi. This creates a common ground where we are all welcome, where we are all one. Or well that is the idea.

Now overall I did enjoy this year’s festival but I was not too impressed with the indie/rock international headliners. The festival still gave me the opportunity to enjoy my favourite local bands as well as discover new and exciting bands, and this is one of the main aims of this festival. My high point of the festival (music wise) must have been FUZIGISH! MAN THAT BAND CAN ROCK OUT! MAJOR BONER!

Each year you learn a little more, and this prepares you for the utter madness that this yearly migration to Northam has become. This year’s lesson comes in the form of preparation and being armed (too the teeth) with all the necessities like: umbrellas, water, bottles, gumboots and enough essentials to revive a horse.  

In dust we trust, when it’s there.
