hi! i've been using this old theme for years now because other myspace themes don't hit the same, but i've been tweaking a lot of it for personal use. i think it's been long enough since this theme has been abandoned that i can upload something that can handle itself better on modern tumblr.

friend space - ever wanna show off your friends? now you can with the friend space to show off your top 8 9 friends on your blog. don't have enough friends? no worries, you can always toggle it off

image space - wanna put a bunch of blinkies somewhere? you'll need to have a bit of html and css knowledge for it, but you can go into the code and add as many images as you'd like. just look for the section and start pasting those images. it's a little tedious but tbh that's just the authentic myspace experience isn't it? but if that's not your thing, you can also toggle it off too.

tweaked/deleted features

had to delete the music player :( sorry but it used flash and i'm not really sure how to make a music player in javascript yet

added username input because it was annoying me that your title could be your name and it didn't make sense in most cases

deleted infinite scroll because the script was super outdated

added the ability to change the "online now!" gif. the original gif will always be in the defaults of the code.

changed the text post header font to verdana because it was impact and you could not fucking read that and it wasn't accurate to a myspace bulletin anyways

deleted the feature that force showed all the pages you made on your blog. so annoying. it will look a little weird if you have asks/submissions deactivated, but i doubt many of you using the theme will have them closed anyways

changed the dead links to redirect to the actual myspace site

scm music player: a customizable music player with tons of different skins and tons of songs you're able to add

unblue polls by @glenthemes: what it says basically; allows you to customize the colors of tumblr polls on your blog

cursors-4u.com: i love these dinky little cursors they're so fun. great if you really wanna lean into the 2000s aspect of the theme

cursor sparkles: what else is there to say about this they're just fun

I think I'm just about done with my impromptu blog clean-up! I'm still sorting some tagging systems out, but I've got the fandom and personal stuff squared away at the very least, which was where I really wanted a little refresh.

For those who are also organizational enthusiasts, these are a few of the tools and methods I used to make it a little easier to sort through over 25,000 posts accumulated over about 8 years. One major caveat is that most of these have to be used on a PC browser.

Tumblr Tools

Your Tumblr Mass Post Editor This is Tumblr's native mass post editor; the link is on the right-hand sidebar on your blog page (right under settings). It's very limited without any extensions, but you can do some batch actions like deleting a ton of posts or changing tags.

Your Tumblr Blog Archive This looks very similar to the post editor, but you can actually narrow down the posts by tag, which is super helpful. You can access this by going to your blog.tumblr.com/archive (e.g. fereldanwench.tumblr.com) but you must have custom themes enabled to view it (you can find that under your blog settings).

Tumblr Secret URLs Okay, they're not that secret, but they aren't readily accessible anywhere either and you have to manually enter them. There's a list here with the most helpful ones.

External Tools

Tumblr Tag List Generator This web tool will let you generate a list of the tags it can find on your blog. It's not 100% accurate--The "tags to exclude" option never seems to work for me, and it does miss stuff--But I love using this to find posts with random tags or tagged with a typo.

Tag Replacer There are a few different tag-replacing tools out there, but I like this one a lot because it'll let you play with different combinations of tags to delete, replace, or amend. For instance, I wanted to separate my community OC tags from just "other's ocs" and organize them by fandom: with this tool, I was able to search for posts that had both "g: cyberpunk 2077" and "other's ocs" and then I could replace those tags with "g: cyberpunk 2077" and "ocs: cyberpunk 2077" without replacing all the posts that also had "other's ocs."

Xkit Rewritten & New Xkit Browser Extensions These are increasingly less reliable without regular updates, and you can't even get New Xkit on some browsers right now because it's been flagged as a security risk (so obviously, use it with caution). Xkit Rewritten has a mass private tool for posts, and New Xkit adds a tag search in the native mass post editor--It's pretty glitchy and limited, but it helps.

And I'm just gonna drop some deets under the cut about my housekeeping because it's interesting to me:

I made this blog in March 2016; it was my 3rd or 4th account remake since first joining Tumblr in 2010.

(Tangent: 2 of my remakes in 2013 and 2015 were actually because I didn't like having as many followers as I had, lmao. This account has well surpassed those numbers, but Tumblr doesn't have as many active users as it used to, so it doesn't feel as daunting.)

I did not record the exact number of posts I had before I started purging, but it was around 25,000.

It's now down to 16,947!

Most of the stuff I deleted were TV and movie gifsets and non-fandom artwork, but I also purged a lot of fandom posts that no longer sparked joy. I did get a little overwhelmed for some months because there were so many posts and I know I probably removed stuff I would have preferred to keep.

Although seeing some stuff brought on Bad Feels, I also got a huge surge of inspiration diving through my archive, which is great, because that's exactly what I want out of my space.

Cyberpunk OCs absolutely dominated my OC tag--I ended with about 2700 posts for other folks' CP77 OCs. Dragon Age was next with about 800 posts.

One thing I would like to be more conscious of is minimizing reblogging art from "curator" blogs and finding more artists who are actively posting on Tumblr to support. I don't mind the curation blogs as long as they're sourcing the artist, but I'd just rather give love to the folks who are actually here.

My quietest year was 2019, likely due to a combination of a lot of people leaving after the great tiddy purge and getting more into Twitch and by extension Twitter.

April 2019 was my quietest month, which had 3 posts!!!! 3 posts!!! I post like 4x that amount in a day, lmao.

The Outer Worlds coming out at the end of 2019 brought me out of my semi-hiatus.

Not sure exactly what was my most active year/month, but I'd guess either 2022 or 2023. I do vaguely remember going from about 8000 posts in the middle of 2021 to feeling like that practically doubled by 2022. Cyberpunk really got me using this space again (to the point of my own mental and emotional detriment in some cases, but I got better, lmao).

We have an extensive tag list and fantastic search/filter tools that we encourage bidders to use to find the auction of their dreams. If, however, you can't find what you're looking for or your request is niche enough that you're not sure which auctions would be a good match, fill out our matchmaking request form. Just make sure that you follow the guidelines on the form. The matchmaking spreadsheet is a great way for bidders to discover creators they may not have otherwise known about or considered before and creators to get their names out there.

Creators, you can look at all the submitted requests here. If you see one that catches your eye, indicate your interest and feel free to contact the bidder if you have any questions or want to discuss the idea. If all the spots are filled for a request, contact us and we'll add more. Please read the instructions page on the spreadsheet carefully before perusing the prompts.

If you want to bid on a creator but aren’t sure you can compete with other bidders, we allow pod bids (aka group bids). Pod bids are when you and another person (or a group) want to combine efforts and bid as a collective for an auction. One representative per group must be responsible for coordinating the bid and submitting all the donation receipts by our donation deadline: November 2 at 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?). You can find more info about them here.

If you’d like to announce your pod bid so people can join your group, contact us and give us the pod bid organizer's name and contact info, the auction the bid is for, and a description of your prompt (e.g., "Sam/Bucky rivals-to-lovers non-powered AU fic where Sam gets amnesia, forgets that he doesn't like Bucky, and falls in love with him" or "Art of MCU Nebula & Tony playing Mario Kart"). We'll add it to our pod bid list, which we update daily. If you have a pod bid in mind, make sure that the creator indicated that they're open to pod bids for the auction you're interested in and contact them first to see if they're okay with your prompt idea, especially if it’s a sequel for an existing work.

Our Discord server is a great place to hang out at during Auction Week. In addition to meeting new friends, you can match with bidders/creators and organize pod bids. We have a #matchmaking channel where bidders and creators can discuss details, flesh out ideas, and connect and a #pod-bids-chat channel to announce and discuss pod bids. Come join the fun!

If you want to check whether your bid(s) went through after they’re placed, we’d like to remind you about the "Bids" tab, located to the right of the "Description" tab on every auction on our site. After you place a bid, simply refresh the page and click on the tab; if your bid was submitted successfully, you’ll be able to see your username and bid amount there even if you don’t get a bid confirmation email.

do you have any c!awesamdream fics recomendations?

Honestly, I don’t have a ton of recs. c!awesamdream fic is mysteriously hard to find, and I also wouldn’t want to recommend you anything super E-rated in case that’s not your jam. Personally I’ve had more success searching the Sam & Dream gen relationship tag than the slash tag. That said, here are my no-brainer recs, most are gen with some exceptions:

inosculation by @theminecraftbox - canon compliant, reflection on how their relationship progresses during the prison arc, how c!sam’s authoritarian tendencies bloom in pandora, and the weird symbiosis he and dream achieve. technically not a slash fic but like it is To Me!!

saltwater on rock by @elmhat - also not technically a slash fic but it is a fun exploration of their relationship post-prison: who are they to each other, now that they aren’t prisoner and warden? what power has dream reclaimed, what power has sam ceded? or is it the other way around? fun stuff.

the trees deny themselves nothing by @lookinghalfacorpse - if you’re asking for recs you’ve probably already read this one (it’s basically THE awesamdream fic at this point) but i think it lends itself to re-readability! and if you haven’t read it: dream loses his leg in pandora, phil n techno conscript sam to make him a new one after the jailbreak, things get interesting. OP also wrote a post-fic oneshot which you can read here.

everlasting evermore by @elmhat - incomplete atm and also not slash but definitely awesamdream vibes. sam is a sad widower king who interrogates dream in his dungeon so it scratches the fantasy itch. this fic does some cool things with the cloning lab lore and i’m really excited to see where it goes!

21 steps in the desert by @airrec - banger. it's short so i won't describe it in detail. banger tho!

scream eureka by @cgogs - basically a post-canon domestic horror fic, sam and dream are married (with a kid on the way) but neither of them is able to move on from pandora. this fic deals with issues of bodily autonomy very well and it’s also refreshing to see trans pregnancy handled with tact, rather than treated like a fetish or a joke. IIRC this fic is an AU of an AU so be warned, it does come with like 30 pages of background lore which isn't necessary to understand the fic but does make it easier to follow.

all these lives by @lookinghalfacorpse - reincarnation drabble, plays with sam’s obsession in fun ways. not really sure how else to describe this one but i reread it sometimes! it’s good!

you don't have to be like that by @dr3amofagame - incomplete, i haven't reread this one in a while but i remember enjoying it at lot! dream gives sam the book in a moment of desperation and then has to navigate the fallout.

accident by @airrec - another fave. concise, fucked up, and very well written.

i’ve also been working on a multichap awesamdream fic (am i allowed to rec my own fics??? is that too cringe??) that’s gonna be wrapping up soon. pandora's vault gains sentience, that's the whole plot. like most of the other works on this list, it’s not technically ship fic but it is very much about sam and dream’s...situation. full warning tho, it’s long and rambly and weird, sorry for that!

i also wanna add that pretty much any fic that explores the scrapped lore is gonna have to deal with awesamdreamisms by necessity, owing to the nature of, well, the lore. there's a decent amount of fics about it, here's one that I found recently and enjoyed a lot.

Have fun, mind the tags. And if you find more then by all means, feel free to add to this post! I know there's a lot of tumblr-exclusive content floating around out there that can be harder to find than stuff on AO3.

Also, it's worth mentioning that some of the most compelling c!awesamdream content I've read were brief interludes in fics about much broader subjects in the fandom; I've read a lot of great c!awesamdream moments in c!rivals fics, prison trio fics, c!dnf fics, etc. So my advice is to cast your net wide, if that makes sense? Happy reading!

Xkit Rewritten settings across devices?

just a v quick little guide (with pictures!) for people who don't know how to transfer their XKit rewritten settings across their devices easily

(putting it under a cut because I've added alot of images and it takes up alot of room)

this is a pretty beginner guide, all you need to know/be able to do is to sign in across devices with the same account to access bookmarks or Google Docs on both devices, or just manually copy the Pastebin link

alternatively, you can use this basic recommended setup I made for a friend, to save you a little time, and tweak the settings to suit your needs

I'm running Google Chrome, but there's a Firefox version of XKit Rewritten too, and this should work the same

I've tested this so far on a Windows laptop, Chromebook and a Steam Deck, and all are working perfectly

here's a tutorial on getting Google Chrome on the Steam Deck (and getting it to open in Game Mode if you prefer that)

I'm currently writing up my own tutorial on getting XKR to work on mobile, along with Chromium based browsers

my XKR backup is too long to paste into in a new Text Post and Save as Draft, which is usually my go to for saving/hosting things for Tumblr, and trying to check if I can add it to a new page on my blog crashes the tab/Chome entirely on both my Chromebook and my Steam Deck, so neither of these options are viable

On the Exporting Device

go to your addons bar, select the XKit Rewritten "X" icon, backup, then "copy all"

Pastebin method:

open pastebin, "+ paste", paste the code/text log into the box, and "Create New Paste". you don't need to add any tags or be signed in for this. you can leave everything blank

bookmark this text file and save it as something obvious like "xkit backup", for example. save it to a bookmark folder or just your bookmarks bar. not important as long as you can find it again

on the device you want to import the settings to, open the bookmarked page, then select all the text by selecting the "raw" option, click in the text somewhere and hit CTRL+A, CTRL+C. this will highlight all the text and copy it

Google Docs method:

open Google Docs and log in with your Google Account. hit the big "+", "Create a New Document", and paste your code/text log in here. Save as something you'll remember like "xkit backup" for example

(you can bookmark this Doc for ease of finding, but it will be the last file in your list until you add more Docs)

on the device you want to import the settings to, open the Google Doc, Select all text either by selecting "Edit", then "Select All", Right click, then "Copy", or just hitting CTRL+A, CTRL+C

On the Importing Device:

open the XKR addon tab again, "Backup", this time "Import", then paste the text into the box. When you hit "Restore" it'll say "Successfully restored"

refresh your Dashboard and you should have all your settings restored!

Remember if you're transferring to a different blog, such as between RP Blogs, you will have all the tags and filters from your other blog, so you may need to go in and fiddle with those, but overall it's easier to import your existing settings than to start over from scratch!

i could point out the NUMBER of times i’ve seen juxtaposition, symbolism, foreshadowing in your fic to someone if they’d asked me to point it out for them. at first i thought you might’ve done it unknowingly, and then i decided that nope, bc foreshadowing is such a BIG writing technique that it simply couldn’t have been by accident.

it’s one thing to know about a writing technique and another to actually be able to SUCCESSFULLY incorporate it into your writing. if it isn’t clear enough, i’m saying that you did it AMAZINGLY. you’ve got a natural talent and i’m envioussss (in a supporting way ofc 😭).

you should really look into making your own book, and i think you EXCEL at the supernatural aspect of plot in stories. your writing is so unique and different yet so warm, it reminds me of autumn (my favourite season).

Agh. Yes—I’m British (English to be precise, sweet sweet caroline etc), hence the use of ‘u’s in words like ‘colour’ and ‘humour’, and also why everyone’s parents are their ‘father’ or ‘mother’ and not mum/dad. ‘Mom’ feels too American but ‘mum’ feels too rah engerland, yk? I’ve mentioned previously that I’m looking forward to writing fics where the characters are actually from England and where I’m actually allowed to write them the way I talk, mostly. Good lord am I excited.

And yes lol I took English for an A-Level. Bloody smashed it too, if I get to brag, mwahaha. Didn’t take it any further (I’ve also previously said that I’m a # woman in stem uni student, which is true), but I still write a killer essay imo. Give me 10 minutes to do a refresher on ‘Othello’ (it’s been a while okay) and I can talk for donkeys about his tragic fall and how much of a wanker he is. Which he is! Whether that leads to the whole, short sentences->speeds up the pace of the reader when reading the section->increased tension, mimics actual fight encounter, etc etc (all the stuff you blag on about in eng lit), then maybe that counts as intentional? Making my own book? That’s lovely of you to say but I also really don’t have any ideas for anything non-fanfic’y! Lol. I love a good bit of canon compliance, that’s my issue. That being said—hey, another eng a level reference—I’ve made multiple references here to being the world’s #1 ‘Atonement’ hater. Unfortunately, it also lives damn rent free in my head and I’ve got the bare bones of a WW2-era, perhaps epistolary, longform fic buzzing around. (Fandom: Marauders. I’m a disgrace but here we go). I’ve written nothing for it and maybe I never will, but that’s one of the only things I can see as being more standalone from original canon. Anyway: it’s the fanfic life for me. Ali Hazelwood’s life is but a distant dream.

Loved this week’s new episode! I’m definitely guilty of putting short fics (<1k words) into a singular story instead of a series (though it’s all the same ship/universe). I’ve actually been struggling with the idea of continuing to do this or not but get caught up with 2 things:

1. The thought of having them ALL as individual stories on my page stresses me out from an organizational standpoint. And

2. I wish AO3 had a way to split a work, because I don’t want to lose the comments attached to each chapter/fic by deleting and reposting since I didn’t have the foresight to originally post them as separate entities. (Though with this option then you also run the risk of spamming everyone who’s subscribed to you on ao3).

And I guess also adding on to this and the ao3 improvements mentioned, I’d love if there was a way for an author to highlight their favorite works, because otherwise if you have an author who writes a lot of short works, they add up and things get buried 150 fics deep.

Sorry for the massive drop in the inbox 😅 This has been something on my mind for awhile and the episode just brought it all back. Thanks for all the work you put into the podcast!

Regarding your first point, I can't help/relate, because I think honestly, the opposite would stress me out haha! Having all of my one-shots bundled as one instead of individual stories would drive me nuts! I would feel that is disorganised 😅.

Having said that, I want to be clear that I do think it is legit to do this in some circumstances. For example, from 2015 to 2018, I wrote a bunch of three sentence stories in different fandoms, ships, etc. as a writing exercise. I mostly posted them on their own on tumblr, but ended up bundling them when I uploaded them to AO3 years later. I bundled up together in one fic all the ones that were for the same fandom (so there was one big fic for TGW, and one for silk), then created a series to link them together. The TGW "fic" had multiple ships so I created one chapter for each ship, which I tried to indicate as clearly as I could in the summary.

I think the same thing applies if you're writing multiple short-ish (less than 3k) one-shots in the same pairing/ship/universe. Like: if, say, you're writing post-war Dramione, you have a vision for that universe and all of your one-shots are coherent with that universe and with each other. But again, I do think it's important to consider the fact that it may cause people to rec your work less. Because they might like one story but not the others, and so instead of reccing one chapter, they might just rec nothing at all.

I think it depends on your comfort level for this. For me regarding my own series what comes in threes, I didn't care because a) I published these on AO3 years after I published them on tumblr, and it was more about archiving them than promoting the work, as these stories were very old and I wasn't writing in these fandoms anymore, and b) both of these were in fandoms where reccing isn't the main way people find fanfic. I've mentioned this on the pod before but there is a massive difference in the way people find fics in big fandoms that are too massive to search (tags, rec lists, bookmarks, etc.) and small fandoms where you can just refresh the front page each day and find stuff. TGW and silk are small enough that I knew anyone reading fanfiction for these would be trolling the front page, and thus see the fic as it was published and be able to decide for themselves if they wanted to take a look or not.

Regarding your second point though, I feel you! I haven't talked about it on the podcast but I've been going through a similar struggle of my own with my long work. Castles has three very clear "acts" that are around 100k each. I didn't anticipate this early on and posted all three acts in one fic, and am now very stressed/nervous that it's making this fic too long for people to read. I would love to be able to retroactively split it, but I also, like you, don't want to lose the comments. I really wish there was a way to do this! 😫

And to your third point, I very much agree. I don't have that problem as I mostly write longer pieces but yeah, I get you!

First, SEO-friendly writing does not mean writing for search engines. You have to:

Use lists instead of paragraphs

Make your links part of the copy

Include internal sub-headings and it should include your keyword phrase

Proofread your pages

Now, let's talk about meta-description. It is a meta tag that describes what the page is about. It increases traffic and conversions. Be careful, Google can generate a description for your webpage that is different from the description you created!. To optimize your meta-description, follow these best practices:

Keep the meta descriptions around 160-165 characters max

Identify what your competition's kryptonite is

Be specific, inspire confidence

Refresh your meta description

Finally, don't forget that you can format the text (bold, heading tag..). You need to think about the UX.

It is also important to optimize the image file names to improve your SEO. (Image Alt text or HTML tag).

Image file size (it adds weight to a page). So it needs to be less than 200KB. However, you can compress the image thanks to a free website.

The image file name needs to follow the same rules as the URL (hyphen, low case). Here is an example if you want to add a picture of Laday Gaga winning the Grammy Awards in 2019: lady-gaga-grammys-2019.jpg Don't write more than 4 words.

Alt text supports good SEO

For the format:

Use lists instead of paragraphs

Limit list items to 7 words (people can't remember more words!)

Write short sentences

I fixed it! If you're having the same problem here's how to get around it.

Make the bare bones of the post example with all your tags, links and formatting that you want to use (you won't be able to add them at the end without the post breaking):

Then you're going to save the post to your drafts ONLY ON THE WEBSITE. If you edit it at any point on mobile you will have to delete it and start again because you won't ever be able to edit it on the website and this will break features such as links, pinned posts and sometimes reblogs.

Then you're going to edit it while in your drafts and paste your fic in from docs or wherever you write ONE PARAGRAPH at a time.

Your keep reading button will now count as two paragraphs because you have to hit enter twice to place it.

I really enjoy your idea of friendship mates being a thing, especially for mor/az, because it would eliminate more of the toxic masculinity and possessiveness sjm tries to spin as romance and replace it with something else that isn’t explored much. Especially since the inner court is supposed to be a found family, it would tie in nicely to include deeper friendships among them.

I might explore it/write it anyway, tbh. Because Mor and Az deserve to have the connection and the understanding and the obvious love they had for each other in ACOMAF again.

I re-read some of their scenes the other day, and while I'm sure they were building up to a romantic relationship (bc that's what sjm do/The Ultimate Relationships Always Ever) they spoke of such a quiet, familiar intimacy:

Mor waiting for him/being there for his return from every single mission. Knowing he needs someone to greet him as Azriel, before he has to go to Rhys as spymaster.

Mor having the stubbornness to wear down his "infinite patience" to get him to open up, and talk about his feelings. Her being literally the only person he'll do that with.

Az being there for Mor in the Court of Nightmares, by her side, utterly willing to have everyone there know that he's hers for her comfort.

Interrupting Cassian to stop him saying too much.

Keeping eyes on each other when they get upset/overwhelmed by a situation or topic of conversation.

Az going dancing with Mor at Rita's whenever she asks - a victory for them both.

Mor knowing Azriel is in love with her but not pushing him to confront it. Not rushing him. Az acknowledging how much the inner circle means to both of them, how terrified she is to threaten that dynamic again, and refusing to ask her to do it.

This intimate, mutual stasis in their relationship, both longing for more, but being too respectful and understanding of the other to ever push them. And so they maintain.

And that didn't have to be fucking romantic. It could have been platonic. She didn't have to completely eradicate one of the most nuanced, subtle, and beautiful dynamics in the series just because she decided to make Mor a tormented lesbian.

And I will never, ever, EVER fucking forgive her for using 'I don't/can't love Azriel' as the method of her coming out.

Her voice broke as she said, “I don’t love Azriel.”

I remained perfectly still. Listening.

“No, that’s not true, either. I—I do love him. As my family. And sometimes I wonder if it can be … more, but … I do not love him. Not the way he—he feels for me.”

The big "dramatic reveal" shocking plot twist bit of dialogue here is "I don't love Azriel". And then she tries to backtrack/make that sound less bad, and 'I do love him as my family' but 'I do not love him the way he loves me.'

It's just. The whole thing is steeped in 'romantic love is the most valid/powerful kind of love and everything else is secondary'.

As if she and Azriel don't have as deep a connection, as strong a bond, as intense a relationship as Feyre and Rhys do just because they're romantically connected? As if 500 fucking years of devotion and adoration and connection and companionship isn't worth shit compared to 'what Az feels for her'. As if Azriel loves her more than she loves him becahse he wants to bone her and she doesn't want to bone him.

It's fucking infuriating. And it's fucking insulting as well.

The implication that ace people can't love their partners as much because they don't want sex.

The implication that aro people can never form meaningful bonds/love anyone as deeply as people in romantic relationships.

I call fucking bullshit. It's an absolute fucking disgrace and I'm still mad about it multiple years later.

And in ACOMAF she set up the idea of mates as like soulmates? You know. Two people who can understand each other and see each other and connect with each other more deeply than anyone else.

But then she had to introduce ~drama~ into into elucien and oh maybe they won’t get together. And then ACOWAR Rhys is coming out with ‘maybe the bond is just for who’ll make the nicest babies’ and I wanted to commit BLOODY MURDER.

So ace people can’t have bonds because they don’t want to bone?? Aro people can’t have bonds because it’s just for loving and having kids (which you know sjm only considers valid if it’s done by two people In Love/a typical nuclear family option). Gay people? Trans people?? Infertile straight people??? None of you or your bonds are valid because it’s just for making babies.

GO FUCK OFF.

Moriel as mates even after the utter DISASTER of Mor’s sexuality reveal is quite literally the only way to fix this fucking mess.

Some bugs to report: If you go on the teen path, after entering the study, the text 'mine' should show up as cursive and bold but some part of the code must be broken because the [b] [i] and [/b] [/i] tags show up. It worked as intended on adult and child for me.

If you choose the adult route, picking the romance option for Hollond and Galeon breaks the game and you have to refresh the page.

And last but not least (and this might just be me having missed an official note of this, so please disregard this if applicable) I am not able to save my game at all, the save function only reads 'error: bad slot - has smplugin been included?'

Aside from that: This is truly a wonderful game, I'm excited to see where you'll take us!! :)

Okay! I fixed the tags -- I don't know why it was acting so odd, but it seems to work now. I haven't got any clue why the Hollond and Galeon flirts keep breaking, but those should also be fixed. Let me know if that proves untrue!!

Also fixed the 'error: bad slot', I always forget to add the * to sm_init once I've finished retesting the game smh.

We have a couple of announcements about matchmaking, group bids, our Discord server, bid confirmations, and auction spotlights:

We have an extensive tag list and fantastic search/filter tools that we encourage bidders to use to find the auction of their dreams. If, however, you can't find what you're looking for or your request is niche enough that you're not sure which auctions would be a good match, fill out our matchmaking request form. Just make sure that you follow the guidelines on the form. The matchmaking spreadsheet is a great way for bidders to discover creators they may not have otherwise known about or considered before and creators to get their names out there.

Creators, you can look at all the submitted requests here. If you see one that catches your eye, indicate your interest and feel free to contact the bidder if you have any questions or want to discuss the idea. If all the spots are filled for a request, contact us and we'll add more. Please read the instructions page on the spreadsheet carefully before perusing the prompts.

If you want to bid on a creator but aren’t sure you can compete with other bidders, we allow pod bids (aka group bids). Pod bids are when you and another person (or a group) want to combine efforts and bid as a collective for an auction. One representative per group must be responsible for coordinating the bid and submitting all the donation receipts by our donation deadline: November 4 at 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?). You can find more info about them here.

If you’d like to announce your pod bid so people can join your group, contact us and give us the pod bid organizer's name and contact info, the auction the bid is for, and a description of your prompt (e.g., "Sam/Bucky rivals-to-lovers non-powered AU fic where Sam gets amnesia, forgets that he doesn't like Bucky, and falls in love with him" or "Art of MCU Nebula & Tony playing Mario Kart"). We'll add it to our pod bid list, which we update daily. If you have a pod bid in mind, make sure that the creator indicated that they're open to pod bids for the auction you're interested in and contact them first to see if they're okay with your prompt idea, especially if it’s a sequel for an existing work.

Our Discord server is a great place to hang out at during Auction Week. In addition to meeting new friends, you can match with bidders/creators and organize pod bids. We have a #matchmaking channel where bidders and creators can discuss details, flesh out ideas, and connect and a #pod-bids-chat channel to announce and discuss pod bids. Come join the fun!

If you want to check whether your bid(s) went through after they’re placed, we’d like to remind you about the "Bids" tab, located to the right of the "Description" tab on every auction on our site. After you place a bid, simply refresh the page and click on the tab; if your bid was submitted successfully, you’ll be able to see your username and bid amount there even if you don’t get a bid confirmation email.

Last but not least, we’ll be making auction spotlight posts throughout the week to let “smaller” auctions shine. Oh, gonna make a list of some things that I haven't seen mentioned in the Twitter immigrant posts!

You don't have to allow people to see your likes or blogs followed on your main blog. It is perfectly fine to have those off/turn them off.

People have started using pinned posts as more detailed "about" sections! Go to the home page of their blog on desktop to see if they have one, or refresh their blog page on mobile to be taken to the top of their feed where the pinned post is. They might have links to a Caard or other things in it, as well as boundaries and important information!

It's more complicated to put a "read more" on posts using the mobile app, so some have taken to tagging longer posts that might show up multiple times on your dashboard with "#long post" so they'll be filtered. I'd recommend adding "#long post" to your list of filtered tags as well. The posts won't be completely hidden on the Tumblr dashboard, they'll just be shown like this:

If you add an image to a post there's an option in the "• • •" menu that allows you to write a short image description, but you are allowed and encouraged to add image descriptions in reblogs or the post itself. Just remember to format it correctly and don't put it under a "read more" because a screen reader doesn't open it automatically.

Being able to use the Anonymous option in someone's ask box is a privilege, not a right. Feel free to keep that option turned off in yours if you're nervous.

You can turn off replies on your posts in the settings.

You can change the settings of your DMs so that only certain people can message you.

You can follow tags and posts from that tag will show up on your feed! :D I use that to discover new fanart and things to reblog! "#dream smp fanart" is a good place to start!

Put spaces between your words in hashtags, that's the most common way to format them.

Tumblr has a dark and low contrast mode, it's in the "Change Palette" setting, which should be under "Account Settings" on mobile and in the person-shaped drop down menu on desktop where some settings and your blogs are.

Links work stupid because of how Tumblr chose to resolve the bot problem. Sometimes links added to posts and the notes of reblogs like this will cause them not to show up in activity feeds and main tags. The way I get around it is writing the post first and then quickly editing the link in where it's supposed to go. I like to highlight the places where links are supposed to go in blue. It's not perfect but it works.

I'm afraid that's not how this kind of feed works. It's just automatic forwarding of A03 post notifications for a specific ship tag (in this case, quote "Caitlyn/Vi (League of Legends") so that for every NEW posted fic on A03, there will be a separate one on this page - with short description, tags, links, etc. Basically only sparing us all from going there and refreshing the page for new stuff, or waiting for recs, basically. I am not even sure that those work for the updates of already posted fics, so I think you'd have to subscribe to them - to be able to get notifications. :(

That said, after a LOT of your responses (which, thanks for ALL of your assistance guys - I appreciate!) I am doing my best to see if there can be any automated filters added for 'problematic' fics (some other people messaged, wandering about filtering - ranging from fics where Caitlyn/Vi are just a secondary ship in the story, or those with serious TWs, straighup cheap crap p0rn written by dudes, or some with G!P that some others don't want floating over their dashboards, etc, etc) since no one really knows what these fresh fics are like until someone reads and/or comments.

Like I said, this unfortunately cannot work as any kind of recommendation system, but - if you guys come up with some suggestions (or contributions? :) we could add that feature, as well? At least for those of us who can’t really catch up with that fic-rec channel on Discord. ;)
