Jace and Porter moving in together and experiencing a year full of holidays together for the first time 🤧
Long Post™️ so all the sappy and smutty stuff is under the cut 💖
~
Jace finds out Porter gets very into the in-universe equivalent to St Pats or some other big drinking holiday. It’s the one night of the year he has a drink (1) singular. He complains about having a hangover the next day. He doesn’t, he just wants to stay in bed with Jace and cuddle all day. At some point Jace ends up straddling his hips and giving him a back massage. Porter lets him top as a thank you.
Jace’s favorite is a toss up between Halloween and Moonar Yulenear (Brennan why) bc he likes to go all out with decorating and outfits. For both he strives to have the best looking house on whole block. For Halloween his place is a clear winner but for the yulenear his neighbors, a sweet elderly couple, get VERY into it from lights to inflatables, they even decorate all the trees in their yard. He’s secretly hoping they croak soon so he can finally get votes best decoration at the next neighborhood meeting. One day Porter comes home to Jace watching them with binoculars through the blinds and he does have to scoop him up and pull him away. Jace would fight him off but Porter suggests finally going to get their tree and Jace is already halfway out the door.
Porter never really celebrated Halloween but he does make a little list of couples costumes he and Jace could go as. Jace looooooves how into Porter starts to get and adds a few more to the list. They end up putting them all in a hat and pulling Morticia and Gomez Addams for their costumes. Jace already had the perfect dress in mind. He could pull everything else together in time for them to go to Zara’s costume party at the end of the month. Porter says he has the perfect suit and good god he didn’t lie. It’s Perfectly tailored too, fits him in all the right places. Jace can’t wait to have Porter kissing a holding him during the party to play up their costumes.
Otherwise, they spend most evenings after work curled up watching sooo many horror movies. Porter is a big movie buff in general (his dvd collection is massive, he’s always picking a new one for movie nights at the gym) so it turns into him telling Jace movie trivia throughout each one. (He definitely has a letterbox’d account too)
Jace loves when Porter talks film. He likes horror to a degree but anything that isn’t a slasher freaks him tf out especially if it’s supernatural or magical bc he’s like “THATS REAL. THAT COULD GET US.” When they watch the in universe equivalent to paranormal activity Jace clings to Porter the entire night when they go to bed. He lets Jace choose the movie the next night and they ofc end up watching scream for the 2nd time that week.
They both love New Year’s. Jace was made to host. Of course the house is teeming with silver tinsel and streamers, glitter and all things shiny. He even manages to get his hands on a disco ball to hang in the living room. Porter likes to play bartender once the party gets started. It’s nice to have all their friends filling out their house and having a good time. At the end of the night they spend some time cleaning up, Jace so wine drunk and floaty as he collects discarded red solo cups. Porter is off cleaning up the kitchen he’s pretty sure- or at least he was, he can’t hear the clinking of dishes anymore. By the time he finishes his thoughts, Porter is taking the trash bag from him, tying it off, and then scooping up Jace in his arms. “Let’s get you to bed, Love.” Jace doesn’t protest, only wraps his arms around Porter’s neck and lets him whisk him away to their bedroom.
For other holidays, Porter also heavily fucks with Valentine’s Day. Not entirely bc of Jace, he’s always been a secret romantic and the holiday is right up his alley bc he loves gift giving. He’s like exceptionally sappy and thoughtful when it comes to gifts. He starts the day by cooking Jace breakfast and then gifting him something he’s really wanted for a while and also something a bit more practical. For practicality, he gets Jace a little holster for his wand arcane focus bc he always sits it down somewhere and forgets. He knows Jace doesn’t /need/ it to cast, but Jace always looks a little brighter waving it around. As far as what Jace really wants, with Zara’s help, Porter managed to get his hands on a vintage pair of leather boots he’s wanted FOREVER. They weren’t cheap but he started saving for it months ago like the ever prepared man he is.
Jace was never particularly big on Valentine’s Day. He loved when hook ups and past partners used it as an opportunity to take him out somewhere nice tho, but he just.. doesn’t like the societal expectations of it all- until he started seeing Porter. Now he can’t get enough of it. He’s a decent gift giver, but not half as good as Porter. Porter disagrees, he thinks Jace’s gifts are always incredible. He’s never been huge on getting shirts or cologne until Jace. When he puts one of them on and watches how doe eyed Jace gets at the sight or smell of him. It usually ends in him fucking Jace nice and slow and whispering honey-sweet nothings into his boyfriend’s ear. When Jace moans “I love you,” he almost comes right there. They hadn’t said it yet- yeah they moved in together and have been together a year now. They say it in other ways, it didn’t need to be verbal. It coming out on Valentine’s Day of all days makes it feel a little more special to Porter though. He peppers kisses all across Jace’s face. Slotting the words of “I. Love. You. Too” between kisses. Jace falls apart at that, pressing his forehead against Porter’s as he catches his breath and says it again.

“There’s something wrong here”: Twin Peaks Recap, Season 2, Episodes 20, 21, and 22
Well, here we are. (Long strange trip, etc....) Below are the annotations for the final three episodes of the original run of Twin Peaks, along with some additional theories and observations. This has been a tremendously fun exercise; if you’ve been following along, pop on over to my inbox any time--I’m always up for more discussion. Stay tuned for my rundown on Fire Walk With Me, and very soon we’ll move onto The Return. Until then, I’ll see you in the trees...
Episode Twenty: “The Path to the Black Lodge”
-Windom Earle’s “pawn” was named Rusty Tomawski, and he was traveling with a band when their van’s tires broke down. Hope he made it to that great gig in the sky...
-Deputy Andy Brennan, on the environment: “Styrofoam never dies as long as you live.”
-Doc Heyward, to Ben Horne: “It’s what’s in your heart you should be worried about.”
-Wheeler’s business partner in Brazil has been murdered, so he’s trying to make tracks. Buddy, we hardly knew ye...
-Briggs shows Coop and Truman the Project Blue Book files on Windom Earle, including a tape of him discussing “dark sorcerers called Dukhpas” that inhabit the Black Lodge. Coop realizes he has mistaken Earle’s reason for coming to Twin Peaks in the first place.
-At the RR, Bobby Briggs and Shelley Johnson have about as much of a serious discussion as we’ve seen them have. This is the thing about Bobby--he might be a brat, but deep down, he truly loves Shelley. I believe he wanted to love Laura, too.
-Coop and Truman talk with Audrey, Donna, and Shelley, and confirm that they have all encountered Earle in various disguises, and that Leo Johnson wrote out the poem.
-Ben talks with Audrey at the Great Northern- when she leaves to chase after Jack, Ben is alone in the office, but he suddenly jerks around as if he hears something. Cut to Pete Martell in the lobby, crooning a lament for Josie Packard: “Josie, I see your face...”
-Earle captures Major Briggs. “Garland, what do you fear most in the world?” “The possibility that love is not enough.”
-At the Roadhouse, Coop teaches Annie how to dance, calling her a ‘queen’. The Giant appears, waving his hands and mouthing “No”, in warning.
-OK, as much as I would go fishing with Major Briggs, that goes double for good ol’ Pete Martell. Up around Seeley Lake, right at the end of July so we could get some huckleberries, too.
-In this episode, we see repeated instances of people’s hands trembling: a woman at the RR, Coop, and Pete as he waits for Audrey...oh, and whose arm is that, reaching out of the blackness in the woods?...
Episode Twenty-One: “Miss Twin Peaks”
-another directed by Tim Hunter
-Leo frees Major Briggs, whispering “Save Shelley”
-Norma was the first winner of the Miss Twin Peaks Pageant (quelle surprise...); in the discussion, Annie mentions Laura Palmer.
-Cooper makes the connection between BOB and the Black Lodge, and also with Josie’s death
-Donna confronts Doc and Eileen Heyward about Ben Horne; what I’m wondering is, where are the other two Heyward girls? (Also, it pleases me that Donna and I have the same middle name; it’s a common one, but still.)
-Major Briggs is in bad shape at the sheriff’s office, but he manages to tell Coop and Harry: “Fear and Love open the doors” to the Lodges. He also mumbles “Judy Garland”...
-And the pageant begins! I guess one of Annie’s convent sisters must’ve been a Rockette at some point; her form in the kickline is impeccable. And how about Lucy Moran, pregnant and still knocking out fouettes, pirouettes, and landing a split?!
-Audrey Horne: “When something you care about is in danger, you must fight to save it or lose it forever.” Annie’s speech is, of course, perfect. Donna confronts Ben Horne, and Lucy chooses Andy. Exit Richard Tremayne, to the collective relief of us all...
-And Annie is our queen. Really, who could begrudge her? I’m glad she gets her moment with her crown, her roses, and the adoring crowd, before the darkness falls.
Episode Twenty-Two: “Beyond Life and Death”
-Andy, reassuring Lucy: “I’d help you have that baby right there in the elevator, in front of God and everybody.” I love them so! much!
-Coop and Truman confirm the entrance to the Lodges at Glastonbury Grove, among the sycamores. I do love Pete’s interruption: “King Arthur is buried in England! ...Last I heard...”
-The Log Lady brings the oil from her husband, and Hawk brings in Ronette Pulaski to confirm the scent. This is one of my favorite details: way back at the beginning, it was Hawk that kept watch over Ronette in the hospital. Who knows what she remembers from that time, but I love it that she instinctively turns to him for refuge when the scent scares her.
-Annie officially meets Windom Earle; she is quite reasonably terrified, but strong enough to maintain a little skepticism, like, what is this dude’s problem?
-Some loose ends, tied (sorta): Nadine fully regains consciousness (I still don’t know what to make of the Mike business); Donna, with her bags packed, confronts Ben Horne and her mother, Doc and Sylvia Horne show up. Congrats, Ben, you’ve infuriated two families...
-I had forgotten how much this cuts back and forth once Coop enters the Lodge; worth mentioning that Gordon Cole described Shelley Johnson as ‘looking like the babe without the arms’, and in the hallway of the Lodge, there’s a replica of the Venus de Milo
-The business at the bank, Audrey crossing paths with Andrew Packard and Pete Martell-- I’ve brought up before that the Eckhardt/Packard intrigue storyline never quite meshed for me, but I do like Packard quoting Marcus Aurelius like the pompous s.o.b. he is...
-Bobby, on the subject of Leo: “He’s probably up in the woods having the time of his life.” Well, in a manner of speaking, that’s not wholly inaccurate...
-OK, Theory Time (tm)!: Sarah Palmer, seen here delivering a message to Major Briggs. I believe that “Sarah” is a Lodge denizen, or intermediary of some kind, similar to the Giant or the One-Armed Man-- she is able to perceive BOB and the others, and to give warning, but cannot directly effect the outcome of a situation. Whether she always was, or whether, at some point, she was overtaken, I’m not sure, but I think this plays into her arc in The Return, and may explain some of FWWM.
-And into the Lodge we go. The Man from Another Place says, “The next time you see me, it won’t be me.” The Giant reveals that he and the waiter are “One and the same.” Coop meets: Laura (”See you again in twenty-five years”); Maddy (”Watch out for my cousin”), Caroline/Annie (”I saw the face of the man who killed me”/ “You’re mistaken, I’m alive”), and Leland Palmer (”I never killed anyone”). Windom Earle offers to take Coop’s soul in exchange for letting Annie live, and Coop accepts, but BOB intervenes.
-Cooper, regaining consciousness at the Great Northern: “I wasn’t sleeping.” And the mirror shows us the awful truth: a Return, of someone we hoped we’d never see, riding along with the last person we’d hope to see him with.
...Whew!! That’s all for now, though, of course, this is only a stop on the journey. Keep your owls close and your donuts closer, and...meanwhile...

Indexes unchanged on Friday premarket, China slowdown, The Fed, Political dysfunction and updated political odds. My thoughts for a Friday Morning
New Post has been published on https://www.rickjshandicappingpicks.com/30460-2/
Indexes unchanged on Friday premarket, China slowdown, The Fed, Political dysfunction and updated political odds. My thoughts for a Friday Morning
Friday the indexes are about unchanged. @CL+.95% TLT +.10% and $vix.x +1.23%
That is a pretty neutral open. With crude being up I would expect any surprises to be on the upside. Watch for vix.x to turn red for confirmation.
I took a swing trade in IEF yesterday. That is the 7-10 note ETF. It is a system trade so not much discretion. I take the trade and wait for the exit.
The weekly SPY/QQQ chart is about to signal a buy unless there is a big change today. That is positive and it coincides with us approaching the best months of the year. The bulk of the money on the long side is made when this signal is positive. However, the event risk is still very high and the markets are still overbought. So I will wait until Monday to evaluate.
I have a number of short puts expiring today for income as well as a covered call trade. Monday I will be looking for more income trades to replace those.
A few things to watch today are: 1. the ceasefire on the Turkey border 2. How the market reacts to the weak investment in China 3. Today there will be some fed heads speaking.
The consensus is that the fed is getting into loosening mode, with more cuts and injecting liquidity into the markets. From what I see, that is what is going to happen. Powell made a mistake raising rates and no doubt he woke up one morning in a sweat and realized the mistake he was making. Global and political turmoil is just too high to start tightening right now.
One thing I have noticed is the way things are supposed to work is we have 3 branches of government all their for a specific purpose and also to provide checks and balances. In Theory, it sounds good. In practice oftentimes not so good. What we are seeing in the U.S. right now is an example of what can go astray in the plan.
At present, each branch wants to invade the other branch’s responsibilities. In addition, since there is a lack of independent oversight on Congress, they have no incentive to follow the rules. They oversee themselves if you can believe it. While almost every other branch of government has independent oversight the legislative bodies have created laws that exclude them from that, how sweet it is. And we are seeing what happens when there is no independent oversight to hold them accountable. It has become one big mess.
The rule always used to be that the President should be able to pick the cabinet of his choosing. They allowed Obama to put in Brennan, Clapper, Lynch, and others without much fanfare. But for Trump, each cabinet member is a battle. Not only from the Dems, but from his own party. So the Republicans that pretty much gave Obama a carte blanch give Trump the 3rd degree on most of his picks. Ratcliffe was a perfect example.
Why is that? The establishment Senate does not want anyone in there that will rock the boat. They cannot keep Trump in line with their self-interests, so they try to limit him to cabinet members that they like. The result has been disastrous for the country. It’s not going to change until the public starts realizing they have the power to change things. Establishment Republicans, in my opinion, have to go. They need to have strong primary challenges. That includes virtually every one of them. From Graham to McConnell. Nothing happens in the Senate without McConnell giving the ok. His approval of the fake witch hunt is enough alone to show them all the door.
Now, Trump will be endorsing and campaigning for many of them. But, he has no choice because he has to work with them. But, get good solid America first candidates and things can change. But it requires organization and a will. Nothing comes easy. But 2020 is an election season where the public is clamoring for change. And not the “Progressive” change but the America first change. You start putting people like Nunez, Desantis, Gohmert, Meadows, Gaetz, and Jordon in key positions in the Senate and you will see change.
There are people out there like them, you just have to find them, get them to run, and back them to the hilt.
That is my rambling for this morning:)
Volatility is still high for event risk. So be conservative for now.
Political odds update for Friday Morning:
Trump impeached by the end of 2019: 53/47 Against +3 pts.
Trump impeached by the end of his 1st term: 73/22 +2 pts
Senate convict Trump in 1st Term: 80/10 against -2 pts (This is the one to watch)
Trump to get the Republican nomination: 77/23 No Change (Another one to watch)
U.S. Presidential winner:
Trump: 41/59 against +1 pt
Warren: 30/70against +1 pts
Biden: 13/87 against +1 pt
Clinton: 3/97 against -1pt
LA Governors race 59/41 Republican Favored +2pts I laid 57/43
KY Governor’s race 75/25 Republican Favored +5pts I laid 65/35
MS Governor’s race 87-13 Republic Favored I laid 87/13
I just made the Mississippi wager this morning. The election is 11/5 and it’s a 10% return in a month. Assuming it wins of course:) I view the odds at close to 99/1. So a nice overlay if I am correct.
As I said I like to make wagers about a month out.
Also on Thursday, I had one play in MLB on Houston +130 and they had an easy 8-3 win for +1.3 units.
As a part of my sports handicapping subscription, I send out almost all of my trades via Viber. This has been a nice value-added feature of the handicapping service. At $49.00 a month for all sports plays I handicap, you get most of my stock trades. With the NFL almost here, its time to consider joining us.
If you want to follow some of my thoughts typically given after the open you can go to @rickjswings. Typically I talk about the overall day expected with the markets and also give some levels on the ES and NQ for failed breakout scalping.
It’s my private twitter feed for the stock market and its free.
Sports Handicapping is the subscription-based part of this site. But considering the cost of joining it’s almost free:)
Good Luck Today

Male Beachbody Challenge Winners, Sept 2017
These guys transformed their bodies and their lives at home with Beachbody fitness and nutrition programs, and they each won $1,000 as monthly winners of the Beachbody Challenge contest September 2017! Check out their jaw-dropping “before” and “after” photos…
David Greenberg Lost 16.4 Pounds
In just 60 days, David got lean and strong with INSANITY MAX:30. He lost 16 lbs and won $1,000!
“I love Beachbody On Demand. Having access to all of Beachbody’s programs, anywhere, any time, is so valuable. Not to mention, $99 a year is less than any gym membership I can think of! All of the Beachbody programs I’ve tried are amazing, but I have to choose INSANITY MAX:30 as my new favorite. I loved that the workouts were 30 minutes long, and I also loved incorporating the Portion Fix for the nutrition guide to make eating healthier that much easier. I liked that it uses Portions/Colors instead of counting calories. Obviously, my body transformed over the 60-day program, but that’s just the icing on the cake. I got stronger, my stamina improved, my energy level is much higher, and, most importantly, I feel good about myself! I couldn’t be happier!
Thomas Brendle Lost 108 Pounds
Thomas works 14 hours per day, but he didn’t let his busy schedule stop him from achieving this stunning transformation. He made time for 30-minute workouts in the morning (so that he can spend his evenings with his family), and in 6 months, he lost 108 lbs!
“Beachbody opened my eyes to an entirely new life; an entirely new me. From the very first day of the program, I felt confidence! I felt optimism! And, the results continued from there. Every day, I feel stronger – physically & emotionally – and I see my body become more sculpted each week. I lost over 100 pounds in 6 months, and now my body is as strong as it was in my early twenties. It’s an amazing feeling, and at 34 years old, I never thought I’d feel that again! I find myself smiling in the middle of my workouts because I can’t believe that I can do this stuff! Me! Now that I know this feeling of strength and satisfaction, I never want to lose it! I still just strive to be ‘better than you were yesterday.'”
Brennan O’Reilly Lost 21 Pounds
The fitness programs and nutrition plans on Beachbody On Demand helped Brennan shed 21 pounds in less than 4 months! Now, he has more energy to spend on his family and a $1,000 prize from the Beachbody Challenge contest.
“Beachbody gave me a framework for eating and exercising that is easy to follow and makes results happen. I’ve achieved amazing definition in my muscles and abs, dropping 21 pounds and 21 inches, and my energy lasts all day long. I’m a better dad, husband, and person as I now have the energy to be more engaged with my family. This journey has been amazing! I’ve done four Beachbody programs, and I love how easy it is to access all the workouts, meal plans, and calendars on Beachbody On Demand. I don’t have time to get to a gym in my day, but Beachbody On Demand makes it possible to work out anywhere. I couldn’t be happier with how I am today, after less than 4 months, and I can’t wait to see how far I go in 1 year, 3 years, and beyond.”
Carl Nicklas Lost 84.2 Pounds
It’s never too late! At age 56, Carl achieved a life-changing fitness transformation that strengthened his mind, body, and spirit. He lost 84 pounds with Beachbody programs and won $1,000 in the Beachbody Challenge.
“My Beachbody Coach and her team have encouraged me and supported me throughout this process, which has kept me going. Over the last year, I have participated in 10 Beachbody Challenge groups, and I find that the more I personally engage with the group, the more benefit I receive from it. I don’t believe I could have come this far without them. My favorite program is Body Beast. I love Sagi Kalev’s enthusiasm and his humor! I’m getting stronger every day. When I started, I could not do a traditional push up. Now (at age 56) I am doing up to 35 in a row and over 100 per day! I have never felt this strong before. I am now confident in myself. I am enjoying life to the fullest, and I look continuing this lifestyle. ”
You can change your life, too. Take the Beachbody Challenge for the tools you need to Decide, Commit, and Succeed! Complete any Beachbody program, and enter your results for a free gift and a chance to win cash and prizes. What program are you committing to next?

Hello Holographic + What I’m Loving
Tank: Gifted by Redbubble (available here) | Jeans: American Eagle (old) | Boots: River Island (old) | Lipstick: Too Faced Unicorn Tears (available here)
Even though I’m an old lady now, today I’m celebrating back to school with an outfit that I would totally wear if I was actually going back to school. This outfit is definitely an example of how one statement piece can make the whole look! This holographic tank says a lot on it’s own so I paired it with skinny jeans and my patent white boots – my husband calls them my Stormtrooper boots lol. No other accessories, but I couldn’t resist matching my lipstick with my shirt – holographic is in, y’all!
This lipstick is Unicorn Tears by Too Faced (available here) and it’s soooo beautiful (you might have seen it going viral a few months ago, it’s more readily available now). It’s an iridescent lipstick that pulls pink, blue or purple, depending on the light and your skintone. Unlike most iridescent lipsticks I’ve tried, this one looks BEAUTIFUL on it’s own (how I’m wearing it here) or layered over other lipsticks. It’s also a fun nod to the 80s trend, which I’m suuuuper into right now and I predict is only going to grow so hop on board!
I also wanted to do a quick little catch-up of some of the media I’m into right now, because honestly I love reading (and writing) these posts! Pop culture is forever one of my favorite things. Here’s what I’m into at the moment – make sure you give me some recommendations in the comments! I’m always looking for new things
Watching:
Claws (currently on TNT) – I literally binge watched the first five episodes in one day. It’s a lot of fun – a really great crime show but it has ladies at the forefront, which is cool. Kind of like if Breaking Bad took place in a nail salon….maybe Saul Goodman is involved somehow? I say yes.
Parks and Rec (Netflix) – Another rewatch of this gem. Not much to say here other than the fact that I officially think The Office is a better show (FIGHT ME)
The West Wing (Netflix) – GUYS my parents watched this show like crazy when I was a kid! Finally giving it a try myself and so far it’s greaaaaat.
Glow (Netflix) – A little late on this one, but I’m finally watching Glow and it is EVERYTHING. The only bad thing is, it’s not helping my current obsession with 80s fashion, hair and makeup (don’t let me get a perm, y’all).
Reading:
Nothing new (yikes) – I need to get my library card!
The Hunger Games – I’ve been slowly rereading The Hunger Games here and there but not too seriously. Still just as good as the first time I read it.
Loving:
The Big Sick (in theaters now) – Y’ALL. I’ve been a big fan of Emily Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani for quite some time, and seeing their story play out on the big screen is just so beautiful. It brilliantly tackles soooo many topics including dating, religion, family relationships, cultures clashing, friendships, career and a bunch more. Honestly, just go see it. You’ll laugh and probably cry and then laugh some more. Love love love.
Listening to (podcasts):
Pursuit with Purpose – A business-y podcast that’s more about being authentic and intentional instead of getting wrapped up in the numbers game. I think blogging can be particularly toxic when it comes to the “rat race” and looking “successful” so this podcast is such a breath of fresh air.
Songwriter Showdown – One of my friends, Christian, and his buddy Dan have a podcast that pits songwriters up against one another – this season is Paul Simon vs Billy Joel. Each week they choose a new song from each artist, talk through the songs, and then choose a winner. A great listen, especially for folks who are fans of Billy Joel and Paul Simon.
Breakfast for Dinner – My sweet friend Nicole from Writes Like a Girl and her dude team up for this fun, pop culture centered podcast. Although I AM still mad at Dago for the Glow spoiler Seriously though, you should give it a listen – they even have special episodes for Patreon supporters!
I think that’s it for now, folks! Don’t forget to leave me some pop culture recommendations in the comments!
xoxo Valery
ps if you made it this far, I’m gifting you this “overly expressive face” outtake photo. Please don’t make this into a meme lol.
