What are your weekend plans? We are continuing birthday celebrations and seeing my parents. Then it’s the back to school Sunday evening chaos. What is a book you remember and loved from childhood but you feel no one knows about? The Tim and the hidden people learn to read books were some of my absolute favourites. I think they’re from the 70s and now out of print sadly but they’re amazing. It’s a series of books about a boy called Tim who has a special talisman to see the hidden people which include Tobias the Cat, Melinda the white witch and Captain Jory a smuggler. He soon teams up with his best friend and two siblings and they go on so many magical spooky adventures together. They’re really amazing stories and have such a special place in my heart. The Wild Witches and the Talisman is the only one I still have which is a real shame as I wish I could share this stories with my children. I also couldn’t just have a bookish post today so there’s an option to swipe for the birthday girl. My dearest darling Evangeline Amaranth is 10 years old today. My bookish nature found her name when I first read Beautiful Creatures all those years ago. Now her name features in two of my favourite fantasy series, well, a rendition of her second name at least, ACOTAR And Throne of Glass. Lost Boy by Christina Henry is a retelling with a twist that really surprised me and one I really enjoyed. If was so interesting and imaginative. Do you have any favourite retellings? 💜 I’m pretty tired so hoping for an early night tonight. We are going away in a couple of weeks so currently in planning mode trying to make sure we have everything ready as well as all the extra supplies we will need to a bit extra protection. Happy July 1st! I have actually written and organised some blog content for the first time in absolutely ages. It feels good to write again. This two books though! Aurora Rising helped get me out of a reading slump and Aurora Burning just was non stop action. I loved both and they were 5 star reads from me. I recommend them both to help get you out of a slump or if you want to try something you don’t usually read.
