Simple Minds- Theme for Great Cities
Tumblr media
One instrumental track from Simple Minds is "Theme for Great Cities." It was released on the band's 1981 album "Sister Feelings Call" and was later included on the 1992 compilation album "Glittering Prize 81/92." The track features a distinctive synthesizer melody and driving drumbeat, and it is widely regarded as one of the band's most memorable instrumental pieces.

welp.
call me a cynic but if we get a great turf war game i doubt it's gonna be what anyone actually is hoping for.
this is nintendo we're talkin' about.
i'm still going to continue my cuttletavio fic the way i envision it and will ignore 'canon' if they do some weird shit but i am going to approach the possibility of past winning meaning a gtw game with severe caution.
that is my shitty little take no one asked for, thank u.

If I were to choose soundtracks to play as my background music for the rest of my life, I'll pick dppt's soundtracks in a heartbeat because it's just that good for me. I'm not even choosing it because it happened to be my first pokemon game or because of pure nostalgia; the range that this whole game's soundtracks have is just that wide and pleasant to enjoy anytime anywhere :')

I dearly wish that DC would make its vast array of archival material more readily accessible. Their recent strategy seems to be limited to oversize, expensive omnibus editions you need forklift certification to handle, or else medium-size surveys (like the A CELEBRATION OF XX YEARS books) with a steadily diminishing proportion of older material and a tendency to reprint the same handful of stories over and over. With Batman and Superman, in particular, I think they could get a lot of mileage out of a modern equivalent to the old digest and tabloid reprint issues of the '70s and '80s: collections of perhaps 100 pages or so, organized around specific themes (e.g., Batman's alien encounters), in color not applied by sloppy algorithmic process, and offered on a regular basis for a non-obscene price. The word "curated" gets throw around rather freely these days, but that's what this material really needs.

Okay so this is a looooong shot. I'm re listening to Our Fair City ie my favorite podcast of all time. Which ended in 2018ish.
So I'm on one of the episodes and it mentions extras and WEBCOMICS on their website!!!! Which is now obviously defunct since its. Been a while.
Anyway my main point being I was wondering if anyone knows a place where I'd be able to access/read them? 😶😶😶
It's by Hartlife NFP which I'm pretty sure also made unwell a Midwestern Gothic mystery which is more recent! So they're still active! So there's still hope!

I forgot to make this post when my thoughts were clear so imma try nailing it but I really like the context in which Spamton is first introduced. You're on a car ride and you get out because there's a car jam. You meet this guy, who doesn't say anything car related at first but does talk about selling you insurance. Then just as you're walking out you notice the one billboard that's ripped off and shows his old job that was BIG SHOT AUTOS. Then you go back to your car and a few meters later it blows the fuck up. Which is totally unrelated to this but I do realize now it might have been a fucking Tesla joke (there's a dogecoin joke in here too it wouldnt be out of place). Of course, I have no fucking idea what to make of this information, but I like the framing of it.
