Event Period

ItaSasu Birthday Bash 2024

June 9th - July 23rd, 2024

The event officially begins on June 9th and ends on July 23rd.

The Event

What is the event?

The event is an Itachi/Sasuke ship inspired prompt fest month style of event with a birthday theme. It is respectively for Itachi and Sasuke's birthdays on their own as well.

Do I have to sign up somewhere?

No. You can create works and post works at your will.

Is this a low stress event?

Yes. No pressure. Just posting Itachi/Sasuke or Itachi and Sasuke based content for everyone to enjoy.

How did the event start?

The members on the ItaSasu Discord server decided on the dates and put together a list of prompts. Prompts were randomly chosen and their dates. Originally, the idea of the birthday month fest was to celebrate ItaSasu during the time in between Sasuke and Itachi's birthdays. This year, we have opened things up for not only ItaSasu / SasuIta content but content that features either Itachi and Sasuke. This choice was made to give more options for creating works.

Do I have to be on the ItaSasu Discord server to join the event?

You do not have to be on the server. Anyone who isn’t using Discord can join in on the event and fill out the prompts. Participate in the way you want to participate.

Content

What types of media are allowed?

Anything you want to create is allowed. Fic, art, comics, icons, edits, moodboards, manips, headcanons, physical crafts, media, video, audio, etc.

What does “birthday” mean in the context on this event?

Birthday can mean anything from singing a cheerful happy birthday to receiving a wonderful present. It can mean something fluffy and sweet with characters coming closer together. It can be sad feelings someone forgot their birthday, or life isn't going quite right on a birthday. Birthdays can be full of memories. It is a nostalgic time of the year. Birthdays naturally lend different moods or surroundings as the year pass and things change overtime. Itachi and Sasuke have a relationship which hits these changes with their age and experience, so you can hit whichever side of the changes you want to tackle.

Do I have to use the birthday theme in my work?

It isn’t mandatory to use a birthday theme as a central focus alongside your prompt. But in the same vein as the theme, you can make your work completely birthday-themed with the listed prompts so it does take place during the birthday occasions, or you can give your work nods to a birthday theme in spirit. We are flexible on how this is done and how you want to handle your prompts.

Are OCs allowed?

Yes. Put your OCs in your work in any way you want.

Can I create works for just Sasuke or Itachi on their own?

Yes. You can create works for them separately.

Which ships are allowed?

ItaSasu / SasuIta content is of course allowed! Ships that include Itachi and Sasuke in some way are allowed as well. For example, you can create Itachi/Shisui or Sasuke/Naruto if that hits your fancy.

Are polyamory/threesome ships allowed?

Poly ships which include either Itachi or Sasuke or both of them somewhere in the relationship dynamic are allowed. For example, a poly ship could be Sasuke/Naruto/Sakura or Itachi/Sasuke/Shisui.

Can there be background characters and ships?

Yes. You can include background characters or ships that don't have Itachi or Sasuke in them. Itachi or Sasuke focused content or a ship with them should still have some type of content in your work.

Besides Naruto, can I include works with Boruto, AUs, or crossovers?

Yes, you can include them in your works, or other fandoms.

What will not be tolerated?

Hateful, offensive, or inflammatory content aimed towards other participants or the subject of the event. As long as content doesn’t bash or insult other participants for the content of their work (e.g. ships, characters, choice of tropes) and stays relevant to the atmosphere of the birthday bash, you can create for it.

Prompts

How many prompts do I have to use a day?

At least one prompt. We have only one prompt per line this time, so this prompt should be the one that is used in some interpretation.

Can I do more than one work per day?

Yes, of course you can!

Is there a length requirement?

No. You can create a work of any length.

Can I mix the types of content I want to create?

Mixing media types for separate prompts, or for the same prompt, is fine. You can write a fic for one prompt and create art for another prompt.

Is NSFW or trigger content allowed?

Absolutely! Do what you want with NSFW tropes, kinks, or triggering content. We do not have specific content restrictions or ratings for what you can create, so any type of ratings is fine to create.

Should I tag my work for sensitive content?

We ask you to tag your work appropriately for content like violence or sexual themes across the platform you post your works on. Warnings for triggers and NSFW count. Redirect to other sites for NSFW content that can’t be posted on Tumblr, give warnings in tweets, or put cuts on content that might need a cut, etc. The ItaSasu Discord server has NSFW channels for NSFW content.

Does my work have to be new for the event?

Ideally, your work should be a new work for the event so your work can properly focus on the prompts we have provided here. All content should stand as a full work for the event and does not need other works for the content to make sense. However, if you want to draw inspiration from another work, you can use WIPs you haven’t posted yet or separate the entry into a unique and standalone work.

What should I do on the free prompt/break day option?

You can use any trope, kink, or idea you have in mind that otherwise appeals to you for a prompt of your choice. This day is helpful if you aren’t interested in the other prompts on the list or you want to work on something that might not fit the themes for ships or characters. You may work on prompts you need to for other days as well, or you can take a break from working on prompts. This day is very lenient.

Posting

Where can I post my work?

Anywhere you want! Tumblr, Twitter, AO3, FFN, Dreamwidth, etc. You can add your works to our ItaSasu Birthday Bash AO3 subcollection.

Can I submit my work to the Tumblr blog?

You can submit your work on the blog. You may send a message to us after a few days if we don’t post your work and make sure we received it, but we will do our best to post your submission as soon as we can. Submissions might close after the prompt period is finished and you won’t be able to submit anymore, so you’ll have to post those work entries without submitting them if that happens.

How can I make it easier to share my work?

Tumblr: Long posts can go behind cuts so it’s easier to share it. Put event tags in the first five tags. Submissions with NSFW content in the post may not be possible to post on the event blog since Tumblr doesn’t allow posting NSFW content, so please host that elsewhere and share a link to that content.

Twitter: Put warnings of important content in the first tweet of your thread, or at least somewhere that can be found easily if you post it in another tweet.

General: You should have content tags in place that can be seen.Include links to your works or tags. Art can have crops if you want to exclude NSFW in an image, and fics can have descriptive information like a summary or notes.

Late submissions are perfectly acceptable and encouraged even if you do them months after the event. We will still happily reblog/retweet your work as long as we see it after the event. We may see your works in the tags for the event at some point, but the best way for us to see your late work is to tag us directly.

OH GOD THE RAPTURE IS BURNING (Table of Contents)

While this book has many names and many people in it, all the events and opinions portrayed are fictitious. Some real names were used, with permission, but only for aesthetics’s sake. People often express confusion over some of the emoticons in the story. Most are self-explanatory, but just bear in mind that every one has eyes and a mouth. .w. has the periods as the eyes and the w is related to the "kittyface" of :3, with the former emoticon intended as an expression of humble happiness (something like "Aw, shucks!"). The < in <:D is intended as eyebrows, not a party hat, no matter who tells you otherwise. This story is long. The first draft was started in 2011 and continued until 2013, the second draft finished the story in 2013, the third and fourth drafts were refinements of the whole and came around 2014. The fifth draft added a lot more content, introducing an element you'll see as the "Attacheds," and this came in 2015. This formed the basis for the sixth draft in 2016, which was published on Amazon as the First Edition. That draft saw refinement and tweaking for several years (the seventh draft). What you are looking at now is the Second Edition, the eighth and final draft. The point of all this is: I have had many opportunities to change this story. I have taken many things out. The content and how it is treated will make you uneasy, somewhere, somewhen. It is best to read this story by yourself, where you can feel your emotions rawly and give them space. Privacy is a theme here. There are many more themes for you to discover. Good luck.

The following thread is a full translation of the 2023 November issue of SoFigaro. (First posted to Twitter here.)

Bai Yu is fond of taking photos of things that grow upwards.

During his photoshoot breaks, he would snap some photos of trees standing tall and swaying gently in the autumn wind, and some reeds in the distance.

The top of the pine trees in the cold November rain, the city walls that extend upwards, and the ancient corner towers that pierce into the sky…

These are things he likes to take photos of.

Perhaps all these have one thing in common.

Over time, they may seem to be standing tall and still, but in reality, they have been quietly absorbing and silently expressing themselves.

Parallel World

Following the conclusion of the Parallel World episodes, Bai Yu bid Chang Dong goodbye with a group of photos.

During the interview, he explained, "These are the yardangs we encountered along the way. This is an abandoned village, and this is where Chang Dong encountered an incident…" Although filming is complete, precious memories of this story are all carved into Bai Yu's mind.

Since ancient times, the Yumen Pass has always been an important landmark to the poets. It is an important frontier pass established along the Hexi Corridor during the Han dynasty. And today, it has become a heritage site.

To protect the area, most of the filming took place in the vast and endless Dunhuang desert. 'In boundless desert lonely smokes rise straight; over endless river the sun sinks round' (1)… The scenery described in the poem was right before his eyes. It was gorgeous, but they also had to tackle challenges brought on by the harsh environment.

Bai Yu recalled...

"We shot during June, so the winds were strong and it was the sunniest period. It was hard to illuminate the area at night in the desert, so a lot of scenes were shot day for night. Shooting under the scorching sun and in fierce winds did have some impact on performance."

One night, the giant tent the staff had set up securely was blown away by the wind. "The tent was huge, with really thick poles and sturdy ropes holding it down. Who knew that the next day it'd be missing, completely blown away by the wind!"

When time allowed, Bai Yu would drive his car to and from work, driving back to where he'd rest after the crew wrapped filming. "Nobody was around where we filmed, so knocking off and driving a jeep in this vast land felt great."

Whenever Bai Yu wraps up filming for a drama, he gives himself an extended break. Recently, he returned home to Xi'an and recharged with a bowl of hot oil noodles (2). Going back home is something Bai Yu often looks forward to the most after completing a project. After all, fully immersing oneself in a role is a significant test on an actor's physical and mental well-being. "Only when I'm back home can I unload and relax."

This year, Bai Yu also visited Wubu County, where he was born.

"I was born in a yaodong (3) that my parents built themselves, and it still stands today." Beside their yaodong are aging neighbors who could still recognize Bai Yu as that mischievous boy in their memories.

Some feel that the characters that Bai Yu has portrayed in the recent years carry this underlying theme of 'endurance.' We wondered if he felt 'bottled up' portraying such characters for some time.

Smiling, he replied, "A little, but you have to do something about it. So you need to rest properly to adjust." But every time he comes across a good script, he'd still be moved by the very authentic and rich characters.

After all, life isn't a feel-good drama. Struggles and compromises with things that turn out contrary to our wants are part and parcel of life.

Bai Yu had this to say…

"I used to be captivated by exciting stories, but now it's more the details that draw me in. These details should be used to portray a character instead of their embellished aspects. It's these details that let me get deeper into the character."

To Bai Yu now, there are no differences between 'important' and 'regular' scenes. People may enjoy discussing an actor's skill and portrayal of intense emotions in an important scene, but Bai Yu feels that shouldn't be all that makes a character.

"There are too many details happening all the time. It's like when I filmed 'The Long Night'; Jiang Yang is a character defined by many details."

The Long Night

Without a doubt, bringing up Bai Yu makes people immediately recall 'The Long Night.' Hearing this, he only laughed and said, "Then I have to reflect on myself. I don't have another work that makes people think of me this way. I have to keep working hard."

A lot of people say this is the work that successfully transformed him. To this, he responded, "These labels are given by others. I was never concerned with 'transformation' since that's what others define you. At the end of the day, it's about the performance and character, about what I like and what I feel fits me."

Before our interview, we came across something Bai Yu once said. He said that Jiang Yang was the first character that he just wanted to portray no matter what. Often, he would reflect on Jiang Yang afterward, and still felt dazed. It wasn't until the day 'The Long Night' premiered, a rainy day where he walked for a long time, that the weight in his mind finally lifted.

In a flash, the year is ending. We asked Bai Yu how he would sum this year up. He thought for a little while and said, "Never thought about it. I used to think time passes really quickly, so I took a long break this year. When I did, I thought time passed really slowly."

For a period of time, his tight schedule made him stop in his tracks to take the time to rest. To many actors, resting could mean missing opportunities.

"Of course, you could miss out on a good opportunity, a good script. But you need to first understand yourself. Can you do a good job if what you truly need is a good rest? If you encounter a good script that captivates you, that's great. But can you mentally tackle the task? Life is about making choices and sacrifices."

As the saying goes, one must take a step back in order to leap better. To Bai Yu, he has never stopped in his path as an actor, but only rested to make sure he has the energy to meet his next challenge.

Occasionally, the passing of time brings about certain thoughts. "A few days ago, I told my dad that I feel like I'm almost forty. He almost burst out laughing, saying, 'You're just in your early thirties!'" Bai Yu expressed that he felt this way because there are many things he still wants to do. Time has its own rhythm, whether fast or slow, but it shouldn't be a worry.

Summing things up, he said, "You set your rhythm. Don't be too bothered about how fast or slow time is going, just stay focused on the present. Live honestly and respect your own thoughts, no matter what it is you want to do. Just go ahead and pursue it!"

Following the disappointing sales of their previous album Warning (2000), the band took a break and then began what they had planned to be their next album, Cigarettes and Valentines. However, recording was cut short when the master tapes were stolen; following this, the band made the decision to start their next album from scratch. The result was a more societally critical, politically charged record which returned to the band's punk rock sound following the more folk and power pop-inspired Warning, with additional influences that were not explored on their older albums. Additionally, the band underwent an "image change", wearing red and black uniforms onstage, to add more theatrical presence to the album during performances and press events.

American Idiot became one of the most anticipated releases of 2004. It marked a career comeback for Green Day, charting in 27 countries, reaching for the first time the top spot on the Billboard 200 for the group and peaking at number one in 18 other countries. It has sold over 23 million copies worldwide, making it the second best-selling album for the band (behind their 1994 major-label debut, Dookie) and one of the best-selling albums of the decade and all time. It was later certified 6× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2013. The album spawned five successful singles: the titular track, "American Idiot", "Holiday", "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "Jesus of Suburbia" and the Grammy Award for Record of the Year winner "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".

KOKIA in flashback - 2003

It is KOKIA's 5th anniversary in 2003, and she gets busy this year! She releases the singles Kawaranai koto ~since 1976~ ('things that won't change'), with the year referring to her own year of birth, and The Power of Smile/Remember the kiss. The latter remains one of her best-selling singles ever, and both single A-sides are used for commercials and TV programs, boosting their fame. Kawaranai koto ~since 1976~ features in the Fuji TV drama series Itoshiki no mono e ('to those I love') as its theme song, and The Power of Smile makes a splash on the music TV show Music Station. These land her many performances that year.

The title tracks of the singles end up on KOKIA's third album, Remember me, which releases late 2003 and breaks into the Oricon charts top 20. She tours to promote the album with her first concert tour, Remember me ~watashi wa koko ni iru yo~ ('I am here').

starting from now until APRIL 30, the girls will be learning and recording the songs, along with learning the choreographies for ATTENTION and HYPE BOY ( the two songs to be promoted on music shows ). on MAY 1,  the girls will have their hairstyles changed, dyed, and styled ( or maintained as, if no drastic changes ). on that topic, as the members will still be active on social media, shinhye emphasizes that the girls should do their best to hide their hairstyles so as to avoid any fan speculation.

from MAY 2 to MAY 13, the group will depart for SPAIN, where they will be filming the music videos for STAY WITH ME, ATTENTION, HURT and HYPE BOY ( 5 VERSIONS; MILAN, MINSEO, MIYU, NABI, NAYOUNG x SENA ).

after their return, during their free time from MAY 18 to MAY 28, the girls will be learning the choreography for STAY W!TH ME and filming its music video on JUNE 26.

NOVA IUVENTA

before the girls can rejoice over having two months to practice before their debut, shinhye goes to explain that while the group is part of the PROJECT ORIGIN UNIVERSE, the lore around the group is slightly different from the rest, and as such, will be promoted a bit differently, through its own VISUAL VERSE called NOVA IUVENTA. for their debut, called by the company 'CHAPTER 1: AMARE', the FOUR FIRST TRACKS of their debut mini-album will be used as inspiration for a MINI-DRAMA. each episode will use the themes of one of the songs, after which, said song and its official music video will be revealed. details of the drama will come in the next post.

as such, from APRIL 11 to APRIL 31, every MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY, the members will spend 6 hours every day preparing for the drama, followed by 7 hours of preparation for the mini album. official script reading/rehearsal for the drama will take place on MAY 15 to 17 and MAY 22 to 24, while filming will begin on MAY 29 and end on JUNE 23. please read the official NOVA IUVENTA post for more detail on the mini-drama.

"although your official social media accounts will not be accessible for you before JULY 11, starting tomorrow, i will have the priviledge to begin filming your first youtube content; NOVASCOPE." shinhye announces. Event Period

ItaSasu Birthday Bash 2023 June 9th - July 23rd, 2023 The event officially begins on June 9th and ends on July 23rd.

The Event

What is the event? The event is an Itachi/Sasuke ship inspired prompt fest month style of event with a birthday theme. It is respectively for Itachi and Sasuke's birthdays on their own as well. Do I have to sign up somewhere? No. You can create works and post works at your will. Is this a low stress event? Yes. No pressure. Just posting Itachi/Sasuke or Itachi and Sasuke based content for everyone to enjoy. How did the event start? The members on the ItaSasu Discord server decided on the dates and put together a list of prompts. Prompts were randomly chosen and their dates. Originally, the idea of the birthday month fest was to celebrate ItaSasu during the time in between Sasuke and Itachi's birthdays. This year, we have opened things up for not only ItaSasu / SasuIta content but content that features either Itachi and Sasuke. This choice was made to give more options for creating works. Content

What types of media are allowed? Anything you want to create is allowed. Fic, art, comics, icons, edits, moodboards, manips, headcanons, physical crafts, media, video, audio, etc. What does “birthday” mean in the context on this event? Birthday can mean anything from singing a cheerful happy birthday to receiving a wonderful present. It can mean something fluffy and sweet with characters coming closer together. It can be sad feelings someone forgot their birthday, or life isn't going quite right on a birthday. Birthdays can be full of memories. It is a nostalgic time of the year. Birthdays naturally lend different moods or surroundings as the year pass and things change overtime. Itachi and Sasuke have a relationship which hits these changes with their age and experience, so you can hit whichever side of the changes you want to tackle. Do I have to use the birthday theme in my work? It isn’t mandatory to use a birthday theme as a central focus alongside your prompt. But in the same vein as the theme, you can make your work completely birthday-themed with the listed prompts so it does take place during the birthday occasions, or you can give your work nods to a birthday theme in spirit. We are flexible on how this is done and how you want to handle your prompts. Are OCs allowed? Yes. Put your OCs in your work in any way you want. Can I create works for just Sasuke or Itachi on their own? Yes. You can create works for them separately. Which ships are allowed? ItaSasu / SasuIta content is of course allowed! Ships that include Itachi and Sasuke in some way are allowed as well. For example, you can create Itachi/Shisui or Sasuke/Naruto if that hits your fancy. Are polyamory/threesome ships allowed? Poly ships which include either Itachi or Sasuke or both of them somewhere in the relationship dynamic are allowed. For example, a poly ship could be Sasuke/Naruto/Sakura or Itachi/Sasuke/Shisui. Can there be background characters and ships? Yes. You can include background characters or ships that don't have Itachi or Sasuke in them. Itachi or Sasuke focused content or a ship with them should still have some type of content in your work. Besides Naruto, can I include works with Boruto, AUs, or crossovers? Yes, you can include them in your works, or other fandoms. What will not be tolerated? Hateful, offensive, or inflammatory content aimed towards other participants or the subject of the event. As long as content doesn’t bash or insult other participants for the content of their work (e.g. ships, characters, choice of tropes) and stays relevant to the atmosphere of the birthday bash, you can create for it.

Prompts

How many prompts do I have to use a day? At least one prompt. We have only one prompt per line this time, so this prompt should be the one that is used in some interpretation. Can I do more than one work per day? Yes, of course you can! Is there a length requirement? No. You can create a work of any length. Can I mix the types of content I want to create? Mixing media types for separate prompts, or for the same prompt, is fine. You can write a fic for one prompt and create art for another prompt. Is NSFW or trigger content allowed? Absolutely! Do what you want with NSFW tropes, kinks, or triggering content. We do not have specific content restrictions or ratings for what you can create, so any type of ratings is fine to create. Should I tag my work for sensitive content? We ask you to tag your work appropriately for content like violence or sexual themes across the platform you post your works on. Warnings for triggers and NSFW count. Redirect to other sites for NSFW content that can’t be posted on Tumblr, give warnings in tweets, or put cuts on content that might need a cut, etc. The ItaSasu Discord server has NSFW channels for NSFW content. Does my work have to be new for the event? Ideally, your work should be a new work for the event so your work can properly focus on the prompts we have provided here. All content should stand as a full work for the event and does not need other works for the content to make sense. However, if you want to draw inspiration from another work, you can use WIPs you haven’t posted yet or separate the entry into a unique and standalone work. What should I do on the free prompt/break day option? You can use any trope, kink, or idea you have in mind that otherwise appeals to you for a prompt of your choice. This day is helpful if you aren’t interested in the other prompts on the list or you want to work on something that might not fit the themes for ships or characters. You may work on prompts you need to for other days as well, or you can take a break from working on prompts. This day is very lenient.

Posting

Where can I post my work? Anywhere you want! Tumblr, Twitter, AO3, FFN, Dreamwidth, etc. You can add your works to our ItaSasu Birthday Bash AO3 subcollection.

Can I submit my work to the Tumblr blog? You can submit your work on the blog. You may send a message to us after a few days if we don’t post your work and make sure we received it, but we will do our best to post your submission as soon as we can. Submissions might close after the prompt period is finished and you won’t be able to submit anymore, so you’ll have to post those work entries without submitting them if that happens. How can I make it easier to share my work? Tumblr: Long posts can go behind cuts so it’s easier to share it. Put event tags in the first five tags. Submissions with NSFW content in the post may not be possible to post on the event blog since Tumblr doesn’t allow posting NSFW content, so please host that elsewhere and share a link to that content. Twitter: Put warnings of important content in the first tweet of your thread, or at least somewhere that can be found easily if you post it in another tweet. General: You should have content tags in place that can be seen.Include links to your works or tags. Art can have crops if you want to exclude NSFW in an image, and fics can have descriptive information like a summary or notes. Where can I tag the event so my work will be retweeted/reblogged? Usagi canonically always wants Mamoru (and everyone else around her) to have a chance at making their own choices and not be bound by destiny. One day she bring it up with Setsuna, who makes her learn her lesson the hard way that the timeline should not be messed with. 

Fantasy - Lois Fogg

This one was recommended to me by Beej88 and is a fun AU that has magic, parallel worlds and constant questioning of what would happen with every decision. One thing to note, this story was almost sold to a publisher with changed names, so you may notice a few stray “May”s for “Minako” here and that's the reason why. Totally worth checking out though!

Scripture: John.8:5; Ps.103:12; Ps.32:5; 1 John.5:4; Prov. 17:9; Eph.4:32 & John.8:11

Message:

We are, in most cases, our greatest enemies. We are very critical of ourselves and easily perceive our own mistakes and deficits. It is very easy for us to see ourselves as too inferior to do a task. We break down our own self-esteem on a daily basis and constantly tell ourselves that we are not good enough.

We're going to look at the adulterous woman in John today, but we're only going to have five stones, and the crowd around us is just going to be ourselves. Yes, we're going to dig a little deeper and see how we stone ourselves on a daily basis as we stand before Jesus.

John.8:5

Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

We stand every day with our stones in our hands. We've learned along the way that we don't have the power or the right to stone others for their mistakes, but we stone ourselves every day for the mistakes we've made.

Our first stone that we have surely all used is self-reproach.

We can constantly reproach ourselves for the mistakes we have made. How could we do that? Couldn't we have just gone and thought soberly? Who in their right-thinking mind makes such a silly mistake? All is now lost.

That's how we fight with ourselves every day over something we did yesterday.

Ps.103:12

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

The distance between the east and the west cannot technically be measured. That's how far God removes our mistakes from us. God never thinks about it again. Who are we to think of our mistakes and then reproach ourselves for them? We admitted our mistakes, repented, and asked forgiveness. We make a point of not repeating the same mistakes. That aside, it's over. We don't have to pick up the stone of self-reproach every day and stone ourselves with it.

The other stone we use a lot is our guilt. If only we knew. How do we correct our mistakes now? We remember mistakes from years ago and still feel guilty about them. We crawled into our shells and built walls because we were guilty of something in our youth, and now we still carry the guilt of it.

Ps. 32:5

I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

We have already confessed our mistakes. It was laid in God's hands; it was part of us yesterday. It's over. We don't have to walk with the guilt of our mistakes every day. The mistakes are now with God, and we can do nothing more about them except improve.

The other stone we use a lot is: We're not good enough. We're not good enough to be in anyone's company. We're not good enough for the promotion. We are not good enough to receive forgiveness. We're not good enough to tell anyone about Jesus. Ooh, we're really our own worst enemies sometimes.

1 John.5:4

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

We are new; we were born of God. The world has been conquered. We have our faith to hold on to. We're good enough; we're part of the win. Our Father is God Himself. God accepted us as part of the victory. How then can we still believe that we are not good enough?

The next stone we like to use is: our mistakes of the past. We keep putting our mistakes on our feet. We cannot forgive ourselves, and we believe that people cannot forgive us.

Prov.17:9

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

Our mistakes are in the past. We can't change them. We are human beings, and we are going to make mistakes. The greatest favor we can show ourselves is to learn to cover up our transgressions after we have gone through the process of confession and forgiveness. It's over; we don't have to remind ourselves of it every day.

The last stone we're going to look at tonight is: People don't forget. We constantly remind ourselves that someone remembers our mistakes from 20 years ago. We're still holding on to that day. We took the toffee off the cupboard and didn't tell Grandma about it. Even though Grandma knew about it and for us punished, Grandma forgot it a long time ago. Why would we still hold on to it? Why do we want to believe that Grandma still remembers it and didn't forgive us for it?

Eph.4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

We are forgiven. The people forgave us, and God forgave us. Now it's time for us to forgive ourselves. People remember for as long as we want them to remember.

We have been washed clean, our faults and sins forgiven, and removed from us. Why do we want to stone ourselves every day? Of course, there are many more stones that we use, but why do we want to pick up any of them and use them against ourselves? Why can't we tell ourselves that we are special? Why can't we be our own "cheerleader"?

John. 8:11

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Look at what Jesus is saying to us tonight: "I'm not going to condemn you; go sin no more." Jesus acquits us. We can also exonerate ourselves.

Prayer:

Father, thank you that we can learn tonight that we don't need to stone ourselves. Jesus, thank you for your acceptance in our lives, and help us to please accept it. Lord, please forgive us when we stone ourselves, and please point us to it. In Jesus Name, Amen
