Starting this off with an artist:

Lucky Wizard is such a delight to work with! She is very communicative and I'm always astounded at how fast she is able to crank out such stunning pieces like the above. She did all of the art in Swept Away and was able to perfectly portray the style I had in mind. All of her art shows a love and care for the characters she is portraying, especially in the facial expressions.

Ohhhh tell me about Post Blight Shenanigans 🤩

Post Blight Shenanigans!

In hindsight I really should have started writing it in earnest before I started ATWFD because trying to handle two Dragon Age longfics at once is a bit much, and this is a shorter story so it would have been finished sooner.

Anyway, the story is a straight-up sequel to DA:O with a Tabris HoF who made Alistair king. It's set immediately after the game, while they try to get to grips with how to run a country and clear up after the mess the Blight made of the countryside. There's politics, scheming, romance, Fereldans being Fereldan, and of course, Rosslyn Cousland is there. In this version of the story she became the spearhead of the rebellion against Loghain, which kept him busy enough for Alistair and Tabris to slip through the cracks and save the world. It has no title, but I've written 38k+ words of a plan and I know how it ends. Here's a little snippet beneath the cut:

"No, you don’t understand, I almost kissed her."

Alistair sprawled on an overstuffed velvet sofa, one hand thrown over his face to hide from the pitying looks being levelled at him by his friends. It had been an hour since he left Rosslyn, just enough time for him to flee to Leliana’s apartment near the chantry, but her image still loomed in front of him with perfect, searing clarity. The most beautiful thing he ever beheld.

"Did she look like she wanted you to?" Leliana asked, and he could hear amusement behind her curiosity.

"She’s not interested." He groaned. "I legged it before I could embarrass myself. More than I already did, anyway."

Thea snorted. "So you’re finally ready to admit you’re giddy on her then?"

"Andraste’s knickers, of course you’re not going to let this go. Fine. You were right. She’s so… she’s…"

His mind scattered like sunlight through a spray of water, to images of Rosslyn dancing, training, knelt on the floor of her brother's hall with nothing but defiance in the bow of her head. The way her mouth curled up in the left corner when he made a joke. But he stopped himself there, with another earnest groan, because that thought only brought him back to the near-confrontation in his office, to the question of how soft her mouth might be, and whether she would have kissed him back. She might have leaned into him, twined her fingers into his hair -

He cursed. He might not have much – or anything – in the way of practical experience, but had heard and saw enough of Thea and Zevran’s relationship on the road to fill in blanks, no matter how he had tried not to for decency’s sake.

"But this is adorable!" Leliana cried. "That day in the glade was not wasted, I see. But what makes you think she’s not interested?"

"She told him to piss off when they were still back in Highever."

A gasp. "You tried to approach her?"

Heat flushed his face, indignation a low swoop in his stomach that drove him back to sitting. "Of course not!"

Ohhh Farscape. Tell me about Aeryn x Pilot!

YESSSS, this one has been quietly percolating in the back of my mind for a while - put on hold bc the friends I was watching Farscape with have been very busy. But I adore Aeryn/Pilot and I really want to write some stuff for it at some point. An idea I had for this concept relatively recently was 'the rest of the gang get captured so Aeryn and Pilot have to pose as Peacekeepers and they both have very complex feelings about it'.

I also really wanted to dive into Aeryn's upbringing bc I'm very interested in what a Peacekeeper childhood looks like! The only bit of actual text in the doc is about this:

Your name is Aeryn Sun. It was given to you by your creche commanding officer. You don’t know why he chose it; it’s not your business to know. You were assigned a name and now you answer to it. Like a dog learning a trick.

I've posted before about my high hopes for this one, and also this lil excerpt here :3

This is the summary I have so far:

"In which Maz Hawke is a disaster bisexual in the saddest, most pathetic, wet blanket-est way."

It's inspired by my playthrough and how I managed to completely miss every single romance flag 😂 I had to go back a couple hours to the closest one, which was Fenris!

Here's another excerpt 👀

Hawke was panicking.

This was a big decision, and one she felt she had no right in weighing in on as someone who was neither particularly religious, nor supported the idea of a monarchy.

"Well, uh…" she started, casting a wide net in the still pond of her mind and coming up with precisely nothing. He should just do what he wanted to. Was that sound advice? Did he have some sort of responsibility? But who cared, really?

"No one can tell you what to do," she stammered, immediately cursing herself for being too blunt. "I mean like, you can do who you want. What you want! You can do what you want! Well, you can do who you want too, but you know, that's not what I… meant… to say."

Maker send her a divine bolt of lightning to crash straight through the chantry and strike her down, she was a sinner and an idiot.

Sebastian's gaze was an arrow rooting her to the spot. She only flushed five shades deeper under his scrutiny.

"Hawke, you – don't think I'm not tempted."

Why did those words not set her alight with joy, she wondered.

"But I can't."

Ah yes, that was why.

"I knelt and swore before the Maker that I would take no bride before Andraste."

He looked… sad. Her breath quickened. They were much too far away from each other, and Hawke wanted nothing more than to grab him in an embrace, or run away and never look back. She knew she hadn't imagined it. There was something there. 

Sebastian wasn't just incredibly attractive, he was kind. He was fearless and sincere, and he made her feel as though she mattered. His fingers always lingered too long when he took the lockpicking kit she carried for him. He laughed the loudest at her terrible jokes. On the rare occasion he came to the Hanged Man; they drank together, alcohol cloying on their breath, pressed as close as their awarenesses would allow.

But it wasn't enough.

So that's a little bit about Maz Hawke's misadventures! There's some things I wanna keep ~secret~ about this fic, and those bits feel quite ambitious to me. I really hope I can pull it off, because I just have such a vision for it 😂

There’s a hole in his tent. It’s small but laying directly under it, she can see a star or two blinking down at her. She shifts onto his chest and tries to catch more sky through the tiny hole just in time to spot a comet flying by.

“Wow,” he says, his voice a rumble in his chest that she can feel through his skin. “I just saw a shooting star.”

“Me too! We both saw it.”

He laughs. “Maybe if we both make the same wish, it’ll actually come true.”

She props herself up on his chest, her chin resting on her hand. “Alright, what are we wishing for?” she asks.

“You tell me, you’re the leader.”

“You’re the one with all this knowledge on how wishes work.”

“Okay, okay.” He stares up through the little hole in the tent, thinking. Soon the stars will go out as the sun makes its way up past the edge of the horizon and they’ll be on the move again, toward their uncertain future, but right now she lays her head on his chest and listens to the reliable beat of his heart.

“Okay, I have it,” he says. His voice is low, just above a whisper. “Let’s wish that when this is all over, I can take you to Orlais and we can spend a whole day laying in bed eating cheese and drinking wine.”

Her eyes burn with tears but she keeps her face carefully neutral. When this is all over, it’s very unlikely they will both be around to eat or drink anything anywhere. But she lets him have his wish, lets the words float up out of the hole in the tent and into the chilly night air.

“A happy ending,” she says into his chest.

“A happy ending,” he repeats, but his tone is uncertain, and his voice sounds heavy.

I read this story long ago all in one sitting. It absolutely gripped me, tugged at my heartstrings, and wouldn't let me go. A Cadash/Solas/Varric Tethras rare pair, you have to give this a try.

Rating: E Pairing: Female Cadash/Solas, Female Cadash/Varric, Varric/Solas Chapters: 13/13 Length: 42,657 words Summary: Maria Cadash hung up the Inquisitor's mantle for the Viscountess' crown, but she's unable to stop her desperate and impossible struggle to stop Fen'Harel from destroying the world both her husband and daughter inhabit. The fact Varric, Maria, and Solas are all madly in love with each other just means she may have enough of an edge to win this game.
