Tammie continued to circle, staying just barely out of range. Something was going on, but they couldn’t get in to the eggs just yet. If the mothership got destroyed it would be bad for everyone involved. As soon as there was a proper distraction, they would take up the eggs.
Though, they could see a familiar face starting to circle around. “Now that’s more like it!” She said.
The sound of Frothy Waters stopped. Leaving a brief silence.

That yell- any salmonid could recognize that.
You… you’ve been through a lot haven’t you? Horrorborros in the form of an inkfish- except you definitely aren’t an inkfish, are you?
Haven’t come across many hybrids.
I hope you are well.
Stay safe in these times. It’s rather difficult for our kind.
big run update 2: electric eel boogaloo
that video I linked in my other big run update post has been making the rounds on the internet a little bit. I'm screwed, methinks
"but gabriel, why are you posting about this if you don't want to draw any more attention to the situation?"
wouldn't you like to know, weather boy /ref
it's inevitable atp, so trying to fix it will only make it worse. that being said, big run update 3: electric sea is coming soon to a chumblr near you
anyone who looks back at the video, pauses it at the right moment, and zooms in on the still frame might be able to finally identify what was sticking out of gabriel's shirt collar.
though it only takes up a few pixels due to the video's lower quality, it looks like a couple of round stickers on their neck.
... and if you REALLY squint, you can almost make out the tiny wires stuck to them.

Above Splatsville, an aircraft soared, carefully circling a tower from a distance, facing towards the roof. The box shaped mothership hovered in the air.
Was that a faint golden glow on it? What was that other stuff up there.
Tammie narrowed their eyes, focusing really carefully.
A steel eel never gives up on their target.
Funny how that mindset can be applied to so much!
Now Playing: Frothy Waters
Tammie smiled to themselves. This should buy the inkfish time and get the eggs back home.

The salmonids joined together, preparing stuff as usual. Preparing for a dispatch.
Mutters went around as they all gathered materials. Some were just planning on doing their standard runs, but many were eyeing the Mothership.
Tammie knew the idea was crazy, but it would get eggs back and potentially save a few of their friends. Besides, getting to the roof of a building is no easy task for a salmonid.
They tried to ask some snatchers, but not enough could get on board with flying all the way to splatsville. That was when they realized a better solution.
It was no easy task to fly a mothership due to its maneuvers, but Tammie knew they had a knack for machinery.
The eggs would be taken back. That was final.

"The worker being harassed is named Gabriel Tatsumi. I'll try to see if I can get a recording or something to the workers be identified. This plan sounds good. I appreciate the assistance.
I'll help you put together what I can. Might only have fins, but salmonids work hard! Once the trouble makers are scattered my friend should be safe until a solution is found"
The salmonid smiled under their mask. Tammie seemed relieved to see how well everything was going.
With a crash, a salmonid broke in through the window. In fell a couple of papers and boxes. “Do not be alarmed! I need your help.”
They stood up and shook themself off. “I heard that you’re an engineer. While I’m paranoid of the fact you work for grizzco, I have limited options. One of the old octarian traders used some connections and helped me get information. It was a pain to get him to cooperate but I eventually was able to find a middle ground. Sewers and vents make it easy to sneak in, and sometimes doors are left wide open- The name is Tammie by the way. I’m getting side tracked.”
They quickly spread some of the papers along the ground, and showed the materials in the boxes. “I need some of these modified in the ways I have listed. I’d do it myself but it would take too long, and it’s a bad time to ask other salmonids. They are busy and someone might use this in the big run. I don’t want that. It wouldn’t be lethal but it’s enough to sting a bit”
The salmonid took a deep breath from saying so much at once. They stared at Mayday intensely.

They blinked, startled by the sudden intrusion and rush of information. Slowly, they shifted over to one side to lock the door before turning back to Tammie with a suspicious look.
"i'm not one to be paranoid, really, but you'll excuse me for being a bit caught off guard. not often people come crashing through the window to talk to me."
They chuckled a bit, kneeling down to sort through the papers. "what's all this for? and how much would you pay? i don't do work for free, you know."
