Following Jane, a former student and now teacher, we learn about the events of her senior year and the death of three of her friends, and we watch as the events seem to be repeating themselves amongst her Latin students. I could not put this book down. The writing was lushly lyrical, and I loved the emphasis of mythology and pagan/Wicca ideologies throughout. The dual timeline made for a complex and interesting tale, and I loved the way Goodman managed to bring everything together. The atmosphere of this book was tense, eerie and chilling, and I never quite knew what was going to happen next. There were times where I had guesses - and was sometimes right - but there were other times when information came to light that shocked me.
