Fandom ask thing: Godzilla
Whew boy, I’ve beenputting this off for too long…
Let’s be real here: thisone HAD to be asked eventually. XD Since my Godzilla knowledge stems prettydeep, I’m going to do something akin to the Pokemon Ask where I’ll havemultiple answers per sector. So… Let’s begin!
Favorite Male Character
THE MATTHEW BRODERICKCHARAC– XD Nah, I’m just pulling legs here. Though truth be told, I think I’mgoing to emphasize more of the humans / aliens here as opposed to the monsters,if only because I feel like there are some very strong characters littered throughoutthe franchise that I feel need / deserve more recognition. But for anyone curious about the monsters, just know that Iabsolutely love all monsters from the Godzilla series and the greater Tohouniverse.
While a lot ofrightful praise goes to Dr. Serizawa from the 1954 classic Gojira for his complexity and torn humanity of what’s right (a la,keep the Oxygen Destroyer a secret or use it to kill Godzilla), I’d actuallylike to point to his quote-unquote “counterpart” from 1984′s The Return of Godzilla, Dr. Hayashida. He’s a man who went into the scientific field to exact his revenge on Godzilla, only to mature over the course of 30 years and let it go. Honestly, the dudehas complexity, and it’s a nice subversion to the whole “obsessiverevenge” trope. There’s wisdom and mystique to Hayashida that I don’t think hasbeen recaptured, and part of that can be attributed to the late YosukeNatsuki’s performance. Stellar work.
Likewise, for thealiens, a ton of rightful praise goes to the Xilien Controller from Invasion of Astro-Monster (or, Godzilla vs. Monster Zero). I think inmany ways, if he didn’t blatantly state that they were using magnetic waves andif humanity didn’t have the ability to pull a new weapon out of its arse, hewould have conquered Earth. While it’s still obvious he’s the villain, there’sa certain calculative, methodical cunningness to his personality (at least forbeing a 1960s Sci-Fi alien from a script that was written on the fly) that I thoroughlyenjoy each time I watch Astro-Monster.
Favorite Female Character
Personal favorite ofthe G-series’ ladies goes to the Xilien agent Miss Namikawa from Astro-Monster.She’s a stellar femme fatale who, in many respects, helps save the world at theend of the day. Being played by the beautiful Kumi Mizuno really helps, haha.
Additionally, KatsuraMafune is another great addition to the Godzilla series. While the executionwasn’t perfect, I do enjoy the melodrama of Terrorof Mechagodzilla, and Katsura’s arc was easily one of the highlights.
Least Favorite Character
Out of these… Myleast favorite I’m sadly giving to the Kilaaks. Granted, I think the Nebulansare also kinda on the low-ranking scale for me, but the Kilaaks are a biggerdisappointment to me because they felt like carbon copies of the Xiliens. Andunlike the Nebulans, the Kilaaks don’t have any new monsters! Well, there’s theFire Dragon, but that’s only a Kilaak UFO. Ghidorah reaaaaaally could’ve used the help there! Now that’s not to say I absolutely loathe themor despise them; but then comes the issue that they’re too bland to even beangry about. XD
Favorite Ship
Glenn and Namikawa, easily. ;) Even if the screentime for their relationship is sparse, you do geta feeling from those two, especially when Namikawa’s killed. Glenn’s reactionis damn well genuine and leads toprobably one of my favorite lines from the movie. An alternative, if I had togive any, would be Miki and Godzilla. :P
Favorite Friendship
JET JAGUAR IS EVERYONE’SBEST FRIEND SHUT UP.
Okay, whew… Stillstrictly speaking humans, this one is generally harder for me to pin down whatmy favorite friendship would be. If I had to go off the top of my head, thesibling relationship between Shindo and Naoko in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster is a lot of fun. Dare I say, Ithink the good guys from Ebirah, Horrorof the Deep (or, Godzilla vs. the SeaMonster) are a treat to watch interact. Same could be said for theprotagonists of Godzilla vs.SpaceGodzilla, even if the movie is rough on the edges.
Favorite Quote
For the sake of my ownsanity, I’m only going to roll with one—and I think everyone can take a goodguess to what it is.
“Nature has a way sometimes of reminding Manof just how small he is. She occasionally throws up terrible offspring’s of ourpride and carelessness to remind us of how puny we really are in the face of atornado, an earthquake, or a Godzilla. The reckless ambitions of Man are oftendwarfed by their dangerous consequences. For now, Godzilla - that strangelyinnocent and tragic monster - has gone to earth. Whether he returns or not, oris never again seen by human eyes, the things he has taught us remain…”
Worst Character Death (if any)
Katagiri’s death, nodoubt. Being the personal target to the King of the Monsters himself? You knowyou’ve done goofed. It’s even worse in the manga adaptation.
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment
It’s hard for me toimmediately recall a moment with the human characters that made me flee gleefuland excited… Though a moment that immediately comes to mind is Yuko’s speechfrom Mothra vs. Godzilla (the ’64 film).Ya’ll should know what I’m talking about.
Saddest Moment
OH LORDIE, SEEING MIKISAD MAKES ME SAD. ;_; I also have to point out Akane Yashiro (even if she’sjust a bit angsty) and Sara Yuhara from GodzillaAgainst Mechagodzilla are incredibly depressing, especially Sara. She losther mother, with only a little plant serving as her last connection, and shewonders why she couldn’t be brought back with the same technology used forKiryu. Katsura’s suicide and Namikawa’s execution are also heavy hitters.
Favorite Location
Okay,so I’ll be honest, I’ve put this one off for so long, I can’t remember what Iwas originally going to say. Darn you past self for not leaving any notes! XDSo I’m just going to pull one straight from the top of my head: Birth Island. From SpaceGodzilla. Because that had a REALLY pretty and romantic sunset.
There,I’m done. XD Sorry it took this long to respond, just been BUSY. Ugh. But I hope ya’ll enjoy it! :)

The nature of war compromises the lives of many; the innocent, the guilty, and so many others caught in the crossfire. And in its wake, many mourn and weep. But the question becomes, can war be justified if an even greater threat looms over the horizon? Is it a practical business technique to get a nation (or nations) back to their feet and benefit from the war economy? Or is it an excuse to succumb to our violent tendencies and deep-rooted prejudices?
For the Polemocharan aliens, a race that have long compromised the notion of a utopian peace and brainwashed all of its citizens under one dictatorship, war is the only permanent solution, so long as victory can be obtained.
The cosmic forces have always had balance. When a world is on the verge of dying, kaiju that specialize in wiping out life come to wipe the slate clean--hoping for a new chance for life to thrive. These monsters are known as Planet Cleansers (almost the equivalent to Shinto Gods of Destruction). But as the ages passed, some of these Planet Cleansers became corrupted--be it for a lust for power or to have some long-standing recognition in the universe, these defectors are known as World Destroyers. They, unlike Planet Cleansers, destroy planets regardless of how healthy and thriving a planet is. So long as they assert their dominion, it's all that counts.
The Polemocharans, a race that specialize in weaponized bioengineered monstrosities and tactical intergalactic warfare, take up the mantle for their most ambitious war yet--to erase the universe of Planet Cleansers and World Destroyers alike! An epic war like no other is waged, which amasses to major social disputes and political controversy over eliminating an aspect of the natural cosmos and disrupting balance. The Polemocharans refused to heed their word, or anyone's for that matter, as the are determined to see their ultimate mission to the bitter end--even if it kills them.
Even though they specialize in manufacturing monsters, the forces of Planet Cleansers or World Destroyers prove more than they bargained for. With each failure, the Polemocharans adapted and restructured their techniques and means of attack, as to be ready for the next Planet Cleanser or World Destroyer they come across.
Enter Akuroghan; the pinnacle of anti-Cleanser/Destroyer bioengineering. The Destroyer of Destroyers.
A creature that harvests the power to slay Planet Cleansers and World Destroyers alike, Akuroghan proved to be their ace in the hole when combating these interstellar threats (with or without quotation marks, depending on how you want to look at it). Even at the expense of crossing over planetary borders of other intergalactic societies, the Polemocharans will stop at nothing until the threat ceases to exist.
And it's because of this mindset, the planet Tanin (Yuuengaku's homeworld) was destroyed by the combined forces of the Polemocharans and Akuroghan. Although Akuroghan proves more than effective at killing different kinds of Cleansers and Destroyers, the Polemocharans have yet to make a mass-produced army of Akuroghans--out of fear that he could very well turn into the very creatures they are trying to destroy.
According to ancient Polemocharan mythology, Akuroghan is the name of the God of Destruction from the Olden Days.
To be honest, in terms of background production, he actually doesn't have too much going on. I was originally going to push for him to appear in the in-development title Colossal Kaiju Combat, but ultimately withdrew him after seeing that he wasn't stand-out enough in terms of mechanical gameplay. But hey, he has a new home now! :D
Akuroghan, like Yuuengaku, is slated to appear in Planet-G's DAIKAIJU DAIKESSEN. And I have one more that's in the works. Stay tuned for that one! :)

And massive kudos to my older brother--if it hadn’t been for the universe we siblings are building together (I haven’t forgotten you, @bluesnowbelle :P) and with the idea of Planet Cleansers and World Destroyers, I don’t think I would’ve gotten that far into Akuroghan’s development. So thanks! :)

Anything you’re willing to talk about/give updates on regarding any of the projects you’re currently working on, KWC related or otherwise?
As far as KWC projects go, I’m going to keep hush-hush on those. But me and a handful of other writers are currently working on something pretty special--you’ll just have to wait and see when it comes out. ;) I guess the only thing I will say is that I do have other projects on the mind as well and I intend to tackle them after this big collab match.
I do plan on some updates, mostly some stat tweaking in the near-future. Mostly going to buff a lot of the smaller monsters, as I’ve had complaints about monsters being too small.

People I’ll tag: None. Because tagging ain’t my thing. :P
Out of all the characters in the universe... If I had to choose three that’d represent me, who’d they be?
ASGORE: I’ve always related with his story and mindset. I can understand having to carry not only the burden of others (in this case his people), but the burden of missing someone he considered beloved. And thus because of his rash actions, he’s lost nearly everything; then he loses everything if it’s any ending besides Pacifist. He has to live with the consequences of his actions, and it takes a toll on him. That said, also a pacifist himself, much like me.
Bowser: While a little less of a “this is me” character, there is a lot that I feel like I can relate with Bowser. Especially with the fact that he’s a responsible father (something I’d like to be)... Though I think kidnapping Peach to force her to be the mother (presumably) is a bit far. XD
Godzilla: There are many variants of Godzilla, all ranging with different personalities and behaviors. But the overall “last of his kind” aspect of the character... Sometimes that’s how I feel. Though I have friends and allies, I’ve always felt like I am alone. And likewise, if provoked... You don’t want to know the outcome of that.
Well, that’s that. :P

For the purposes of the KWC(E), is there a way to turn Heisei Godzilla into Super Godzilla other than having humans inject him with G-Energy? I ask because I was browsing your Deviantart gallery and saw that banner you made for a potential Godzilla vs Evangelion match, and saw that the plans for it involved a battle between Super Godzilla and awakened Unit-01. Which seems strange to me if the only way for Godzilla to reach that state is if humanity specifically helps him reach it.
That particular match would’ve followed similar beats to the one used in Match 190 (though the specifics would differ). That is to say, the human forces (JSDF) would’ve intervened to turn Godzilla into Super Godzilla. But in truth, I hadn’t really gone too far with that story before scrapping it.
As for any other methods... The only idea that comes to mind would be that Super Godzilla would replace Burning Godzilla. That is to say, all he would need is a tremendous energy source. So basically a stable, more destructive (but not world ending) version of Burning Godzilla. That’s really the only other alternative I can think of for the KWC (and E).
My only note with that is to infer that this can be achieved from the second transformation and beyond. Generally, the easy way to establish this is to make note that Godzilla has already fought Bagan, and people will get the idea.

Kaiju War Chronicles Committee #32 (End of the World Edition!)
Hey guys, it's been a while, hasn't it?
Well, here's a new KWCC podcast--one filled with goofs and new jokes that overstay their welcome. :P Well, okay, there's at least a reason for it, but still. Even the best anime have their filler episodes... But even filler has memorable moments. So sit back, relax, and enjoy our usual shenanigans. ;)
Also, it's End of the World edition because... Well, if you were alive yesterday, you know. :P
