Am I the only one who hates the fact that every season we've had an episode about Ash learning humility? I can understand the Lorelei and Drake episode, but repeating the same plot with the same intention and still making Ash act the same way seems like a waste of time and It just seems like Ash isn't developing.

Eh, it depends on context for me?

I mean, I agree that we didn't need the Elesa gym battle fiasco nor the "losing streak" that happened mostly offscreen from Journeys.

But the Brawly battle, Paul's... everything and the Snowballbelle moments aren't bad tbh? They make a LOT of sense when you take the whole picture and realize that Ash did need that reality check in those moments.

Also, Ash does have a tendency of letting things get to his head. And like, I know he mellowed down and his bad habits are harder to see nowadays, but it may be like when you know you are being entitled but dont want to, yknow? It's more about him trying to control himself than that he just doesn't feel those feelings anymore. So sometimes it slips and he acts like a jerk (and deserves punishment for it).

Like the jealous thing! From Kanto to Sinnoh we see a HUGE difference in how he acts when he is jealous but that bad trait is still there and probably is gonna stay for a while, he is just better at controlling it.
