geaprd and serval

i was talking with tea about how gepard's relationship with serval is/how it has progressed since the game began, and i feel like sharing some thoughts.

my gepard is, is guess? divergent if only in the sense that i cannot for the life of me see gepard completely turning his back on his sister. there was a lot of conflicting emotions he experienced when their father basically disowned her along with the architects, but gepard would have wanted her to stay because he was afraid to lose her, more than he was afraid of upsetting those around him.

i feel as though their mother was/is absent, and probably left their father early on once she realized the kind of man landau senior was. and due to idk, patriarchy and lineage, the kids stayed with their dad. this serval no doubt stepping in to fill the "mom" role as needed. gepard would have looked to serval like a second mother for awhile, his desire to grow big and strong to protect her in return growing the more she shielded him from their dad.

her going against their father, the "status quo" if you will, would have threatened their little nuclear unit. gepard would have been upset about her leaving more than he was her not doing what their father wanted.

granted, this is still narrow-minded on gepard's part. i'm aware he should have been more supportive of her when she really needed it, but i also can't forget the same pressures serval was given to succeed were thrust onto gepard, as well. probably moreso, or at least in different shapes, because he is the only son of the landaus. he was afraid of losing serval like their mother left, but also afraid of their father too. afraid of what he rest of belobog would see if he didn't live up to expectations.

after the events in canon: meeting the MC and the express crew, the stellaron being purged, cocolia's "sacrifice", and accompanying his sister on her character quest (which i could write a whole post on itself, but i digress), gepard has had his eyes opened a bit more. he's aware his sister acted in a way she felt she had to, to keep her autonomy as well as doing what she thought was best for belobog in her own way.

as a result, he feels like he has a lot to make up for with her, and is willing to try as often as she'll let him fill in the gaps in their relationship. he loves her more than he can express (literally he sucks at saying what he feels) and he wants to work on rebuilding their trust .

#( ( headcanon #there's still a lot up in the air about like #their lineage #other than the landau's have been around #almost as long as the guardians #and that serval and their father are estranged #but in my canon #gepard loves his sisters more than anything #and would do whatever it takes to #make sure they are cared for #he let their dad disown serval #in part fear and in part hoping she would just come back #but he knows that was fucked up and he's gotta work to fix it #thx for coming to my ted talk

Fat people deserve mobility aids, too. No matter if it's connected to their fatness or not, because having a mobility issue that is connected to one's fatness won't change that they're still fat and still have the issue at hand. Fat people don't deserve to "tough it out" because fatness should be this divine punishment doled out to those who "deserve" it. Fat disabled people deserve to have the peace of mind that they can exist in whatever way is most comfortable and accessible to them
