⋆ arcane headcanons but they're all vampires.
multi. vampire!f!characters x f!reader. men & minors dni.
synopsis: what it says on the tin, baby doll.
cw: vampire-related violence, mentions of gore (nothing graphic), mentions of blood-drinking (duh), dom/sub, vaginal sex, vaginal fingering, masturbation, cunnilingus, power dynamics, power play, impact play, multiple orgasms, overstimulation, semi-public sex on occasion, unhealthy relationships (in the sense of vampires + their fledglings! no abuse i swear), manipulation, gothic themes, mutual obsession, age difference, older woman/younger woman, morally gray characters.
notes: this includes jinx, caitlyn, ambessa, sevika, + vi. i just watched nosferatu and it’s now one of my absolute favorite movies. i loved it and so now i must invoke the spirit of the vampire into every fictional woman i’m desperately in love with.
this is also fully for @digit4lslut who wanted more evil women. i concur.
The winter is long and arduous and you find yourself hungering for something dark and warm. The world has always seemed to press against you, take from you, eat at you. You’re in bed now, and the spot next to you is plush and warm from your lover’s recent departure. Your neck stings and you press a hand to it, pull it away to find a gleaming sweet mixture of venom and blood. Beyond your hand the door opens and with a few more steps the curtain shielding from around the bed are pulled back.
This is your lover's return. You look at her, smile softly as she crawls over you and hovers with a blood-wet mouth. Her chest rises, body fevered and aching after a hunt. She places a hand on your stomach, pushes down until you gasp and clutch at her. Yes, this is your forever. You cup her face, turn her toward the light.
You see her. You see your history. Who is she? What is your history? What is her name?
jinx.
♱ you both were small when you first met. you had a tendency to sneak out into the gardens, tuck yourself under the thicket of white hydrangeas and stare out into the water. one day, the darkness shifted and she was staring back.
♱ she was all wild hair and wilder eyes, skin pale as moonlight. her hair was crystal, ocean blue. you weren't scared—maybe you should have been. instead, you reached out your hand and she took it, fingers cold against yours.
♱ you let her trace your palm, intertwine your fingers. something began to hum deep and low in your body and her eyes went pink, bright and starlike. she smelled so overwhelmingly of rose and plum, almost sickly sweet. you breathed in deeply, from your stomach up through your chest—like you were swimming.
♱ that was the beginning.
♱ for years, she was your shadow companion. you'd meet in the garden at midnight, sharing secrets and stolen sweets. You’d tuck a cake under the flat of her tongue and she’d hold it, smile close-lipped while it turned to ash. she'd braid flowers into your hair while telling you stories about magic and monsters to distract you while she spit it out.
♱ then one spring, she vanished. you woke to nothing but a puncture wound on the flesh of your palm, the holes almost tender with their dried blood and lack of pain. you didn’t know it then, but she’d spread her saliva, her venom over it to spare you from any pain.
♱ the hydrangeas bloomed without her, and you learned what it meant to mourn someone who left no trace behind. you grew into yourself slowly, carefully, always feeling half-formed without her there.
♱ when you saw her again, you were twenty-three and she was everything you'd dreamed of in the dark. she stood in her cousin's drawing room, all sharp edges and sharper smile. "this is jinx," they said, "she's been abroad." you knew better—the girl from your garden had never left, she'd just become something else entirely. maybe she always had been.
♱ her cousin, viktor, spoke of marriage within weeks. you agreed, but your eyes were always on her. you caught her watching you too, gaze heavy with something that made your blood sing. this was what you'd been waiting for, you realized. this hunger. this need.
♱ you couldn’t be alone with her. you recognized your lack of will, your deference almost immediately and set about avoiding her when you could. you only realized she allowed it, was indulging your fancy, when she cinched your waist with an arm just outside of the dining room and pressed her thumb into your chin until your jaw hinged wide enough for her to see the tissue of your cheek.
♱ “enough of this,” she told you, and then closed your mouth. she leaned forward, flooding your mind with her saccharine perfume as she held your head inbetween her spindly fingers and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
♱ she took to painting you. at first, it was formal portraits, the kind viktor commissioned. but soon the paintings changed—you in the garden, surrounded by hydrangeas, then by roses. you sleeping, hair spilled across silk pillows. you with bitten lips and eyes that held secrets.
♱ you never told anyone how you'd pose for her in the dead of night, how your skin would flush under her gaze.
♱ "you're my best work," she'd whisper, fingers trailing over fresh canvas. "my masterpiece." her studio became your sanctuary, far from viktor's polite affections and careful touches. she never kissed you, but god, how you wanted her to.
♱ the sculptures started after your engagement was announced. you in marble, you in bronze, you eternally preserved in cold, beautiful stone. she worked feverishly, possessed by something you both couldn't name. "i'm making you immortal," she'd say, and her eyes would glow like embers. "isn't that what you want?" it was. it is.
♱ you found her old sketches one night—drawings of you as a child, then a teenager right before her abandonment of you, then a woman, dated through all the years she'd been gone. she'd never stopped watching you, never truly left.
♱ the pages were stained with something dark at the edges. you traced them with your fingers, understanding finally what it meant to be beloved by something inhuman.
♱ "do you ever think about that night in the garden?" she asked once, hands covered in clay as she shaped your likeness. "when we first met?" you nodded, remembering the cold touch of her hand. "i knew then," she said, "that you'd be mine. but you didn’t understand it."
♱ the way your heart raced at those words should have frightened you. instead, you whispered back, "i understand now."
♱ viktor speaks of jinx with a mixture of fear and reverence. "she's not right," he whispers against your neck one night, and you feel nothing but impatience at his touch. "the things she does in that studio..." but he never finishes the thought. the family—the coven, jinx’s voice corrected you—needs her, so they keep her close.
♱ you need her too, but for entirely different reasons.
♱ sometimes she watches viktor touch you—at dinner parties, in the garden, during your dancing lessons. her eyes are molten in those moments, and later you find your face torn to pieces, canvas slashed with violent strokes of red.
♱ anyone else would be terrified, but the desperation with which she wants you makes your body riot with heat. you begin to leave your windows open at night, hoping she'll come to claim what's hers.
♱ "sit still," she commands, and you do. you always do. she's sculpting your hands now, obsessing over every line, every vein. "beautiful," she murmurs, and her fingers trace the paths her chisel will follow. your pulse jumps beneath her touch. she smiles, knowing. you smile back, trembling and wanting.
♱ the studio walls are covered with you now. sleeping, laughing, reading, dancing—moments you don't remember posing for. "my muse," she calls you, but it feels more like worship. every angle of you captured, preserved, devoured by her artistry. you wonder if this is what it feels like to be transformed into myth, and if she would lash out at your desire to be her priestess instead of her god.
♱ you find her one night in the garden, beneath your hydrangeas. she's painting with something dark and wet, and the flowers are turning red beneath her brush. she’s upset, her spin flexing agitatedly. "your wedding is in a month," she says without looking up. "i'm running out of time."
♱ you kneel beside her in the dirt, press your fingers to her cold cheek. "what do you need me to say in order for you to just take me?" you whisper. her eyes flash in the dark.
♱ the paintings change again. now they're fever dreams—you with wings of thorn, you with a crown of bones, you surrounded by writhing shadows. in every one, there's a crimson figure reaching for you. in every one, you're reaching back. they're no longer paintings but prophecies, and you ache for their fulfillment.
♱ "he'll never see you like i do," she tells you, circling your latest statue. “i know,” you answer. "he'll never capture your essence." her hand hovers over the marble's heart. “i—i know.” "he'll never make you eternal." the way she says it sounds like a promise. "i know,” your breathing is erratic now. “i don't want him to," you answer. "i only want you."
♱ the sculpture shatters that night; neither of you mention the blood on her hands.
♱ you start finding dead hydrangeas on your pillow, their petals black with age. beneath them, sketches of you in a wedding dress, the train stained scarlet, the veil made of lace and gray shadow. her signature is always in red. you press the flowers between book pages, collecting them like love notes.
♱ "tell me about the night you disappeared," you ask her once, lying among the ruined canvases of her studio. she traces patterns on your throat instead of answering. "i had to become worthy of you," she finally says. "i had to learn how to keep you forever." you turn your head, bare your neck and spread your legs. she lies against you, begins to drag two finger to your center. "show me," you breathe. “please.”
♱ she eats you like she does everything else: wildly, insatiably, and relentless. you feel out of control, grasping at your thighs as you finish over her.
♱ the night before your wedding, she asks to paint you one last time. viktor warns against it, but you go anyway. her studio smells of copper and roses.
♱ she doesn't use canvas this time. instead, her fingers trace runes on your throat, your wrists, your heart. "art needs sacrifice," she says, and her teeth gleam in the candlelight. "and i've waited so patiently. given you up for long enough." you think of all the years she watched, waited, wanted. your hands find her hair. “stop waiting."
♱ your first night as her creature, you understand why she always painted in red. the world explodes into color you never knew existed—violets deeper than bruises, blues that pulse like veins, reds that sing of life itself. "everything's so beautiful," you whisper. she laughs against your throat. "this is just the beginning, baby."
♱ viktor never makes it to the altar. the coven whispers that he fled, abandoned his bride-to-be. only you and jinx know the truth of his final portrait, painted in shades of crimson and hung in the deepest chamber of her studio. his last gift to art. you understand now—true art should hurt a little.
♱ the garden blooms year-round now, hydrangeas stained perpetually dark with your midnight feedings.
♱ "do you remember when you were afraid of me?" she asks one night, centuries after. you're both covered in bed, her mouth slick from where she’s been drinking. "i was never afraid," you correct her, licking the color from her fingers. "i think i just always loved you and found myself incomplete. that’s terrifying at thirteen, seventeen, nineteen, twenty. and it never stops.”
♱ “good” she murmurs, and you know then that if you ever die she will be the thing that kills you.
caitlyn.
♱ she's been watching you grow into yourself for years. quiet, careful, always maintaining that perfect distance. you think she's just being professional—the respected vampire mediator, keeping an eye on the human liaison to her kind.
♱ she knows better, knows what you are. she feels the pull every time you enter a room, like gravity shifting to accommodate your presence.
♱ you begin to speak to her, lay yourself bare. you find that she’s so attentive when she listens, her body twisting to match the shape of yours as she leans her chin on hands and never breaks her gaze.
♱ "you'll find them," she tells you one night, when you're crying in her study about another failed relationship. her hand hovers over your shoulder, not quite touching. "your perfect one is out there."
♱ the lie tastes of rot in her mouth. she knows exactly where your perfect match is—sitting across from you, centuries old and terrified of how young you are.
♱ you bring her wine she can't drink and tell her your secrets. your life spills out of you, a thin timeline that is a speck in how long she’s lived. she collects each one like precious stones, storing them away with all the other pieces of you she's gathered over the years.
♱ "i just want someone to look at me and know," you confess. she grips her desk until the wood creaks, fighting the urge to say: i know. i've always known.
♱ she can’t help herself in some ways. there are some things she can't hide, one of them being her favor. books appear on your desk about subjects you mentioned wanting to learn. your favorite flowers stay blossomed in winter outside your window. a shadow follows you home on dangerous nights. you think she's just being kind. she's being careful—so, so careful.
♱ "do you ever feel it?" you ask her once. "that pull toward someone? like your whole body already knows them?" she looks at you for a long moment, memorizing the way moonlight catches in your dilated eyes. for a moment, she zones out and listens to your body pump and pulse. she hears your sudden arousal, the sticky syrupy run of your cunt as you watch her the swell of her chest.
♱ "yes," she says finally, slightly breathless. "i know exactly what you mean." you smile, relieved to be understood. she turns away, centuries of control cracking.
♱ when you finally find out, it's not gentle. there's a fight, an ancient vampire who gets too close, wounds you and tells you too much.
♱ "ask your protector why she keeps you close," he sneers before caitlyn tears him apart. "ask her why she won't let anyone else have you."
♱ you're magnificent in your rage. "all this time!" you seethe, hurling books at her head. "watching me cry about being alone. letting me think—" she catches a particularly heavy tome before it hits her face.
♱ "i was trying to protect you," she starts. "from what?" you roar. "from me," she whispers.
♱ you settle and she finds it worse than the rage.“caitlyn, you are my mate. out of everyone, you could only ever save me.”
♱ "i've lived centuries," she tries to explain. "i've seen everything this world has to offer. i didn't want to take your chance at a normal life. you will resent me as time passes. that is the truth." you laugh, bitter and broken. "that wasn't your choice to make. and it was the wrong one. resent you? it’s as if you don’t even know me."
♱ she finds you in her study at midnight, surrounded by her journals. centuries of entries about you, dreams at frist—about the pull, about fighting it. then you came into the world and it was real, more terrifying.
♱ "when?" you ask, voice raw. "when did you know?" she kneels beside your chair, finally letting herself touch your hand. "the moment you walked into my office five years ago. it felt like walking into sunlight after an endless night."
♱ "i've memorized all your habits," she confesses one night, when you're still angry but can't stay away. "the way you tap your fingers when you're thinking. how you always have to turn to an even-numbered page in a book before you leave it. the exact sound of your heartbeat when you're about to cry."
♱ you want to hate how well she knows you. instead, you ache.
♱ she starts leaving collections of letters for you, months of longing bound in leather. you read about the first time she saw you smile, how she had to leave the room because the wanting was too much. about all the times she nearly shattered, nearly told you, nearly gave in.
♱ "i wrote novels of you," she whispers when you confront her. "i just couldn't let you read them."
♱ "i want to know," you demand one evening, tired of careful distance. "show me what it feels like."
♱ she presses her hand to your chest, lets you feel the pull that's been tormenting her for years. it's like drowning in fire, like every love poem ever written condensed into a single touch.
♱ "oh," you breathe. "why did you keep this from me?"
♱ you find her old paintings hidden away—you in every season, every light. she's captured moments you didn't even know she witnessed.
♱ "i told myself it wasn't possessive if i never showed anyone," she admits. you trace a picture of yourself sleeping, rendered in oils and longing. you turn to her, face open and wet. "what if i wanted to be possessed?"
♱ the first time she kisses you, it's like coming home. "i'm still angry," you murmur against her lips. “furious even.” her hands shake as they frame your face. "i know. i'll spend decades earning your forgiveness."
♱ you bite her lower lip hard enough to draw blood. "decades? is that all?"
♱ she tries to maintain control even now—always asking permission, always holding back. you learn to break her resolve with casual touches, with bared skin, with whispered confessions. "let go," you tell her, pressing closer. "i want you to trust yourself so implicitly, that you let yourself go. i'm not made of glass."
♱ when she finally does, there are stars exploding behind your eyes and gunfire in your head. you will never forget the feel of her, her cunt swollen and pink and weeping against you.
♱ "i used to stand outside your door at night," she admits, tracing patterns on your bare shoulder. "listening to you breathe, making sure you were safe." you should find it creepy. instead, you think of all the nights you felt protected without knowing why.
♱ "next time," you say, "come inside."
♱ you start finding little gifts—first editions of books you mentioned loving, antique jewelry that matches your eyes, pressed flowers from centuries ago. "i've been collecting things for you," she explains, shy suddenly. "since before the day we met."
♱ you wear her history around your neck, let her sink into your blood.
♱ sometimes you catch her watching you with that old hesitation. you've learned to read it now—the fear that she's taking too much, loving too deeply. "i choose this," you remind her, pressing your wrist to her mouth. "i choose you." she kisses your pulse point like a prayer.
♱ "i thought i was protecting you," she whispers one night, when you're tangled in her sheets and her guilt. "but i was really protecting myself. from how much i could love you. from how much it would destroy me to lose you."
♱ you kiss the confession from her lips. "you will never lose me. but i will ruin you, if you ever try to keep me from you again. in any fashion.”
♱ she shivers, understands that you are saying this as a vow. she rolls you over, climbs on top of you, tries to tear apart your body to find a place to stay.
ambessa.
♱ she never looks at you. not really. you're furniture to her, useful and invisible. you clean lip stains from her wine glasses, replace torn sheets, erase all evidence of her endless parade of lovers. sometimes you find drops of blood on the marble floor and wonder what it would taste like to be wanted by her.
♱ "excellent work as always," she says without turning around. you've just finished clearing away another morning-after scene—scattered clothes, broken crystal, the lingering scent of sex and copper in the air. her praise feels like acid in your chest.
♱ you want her to see you. you want her to devour you. you want, you want, you want.
♱ you keep track of her lovers in your mind, a masochistic catalog. the willowy blonde who screamed her name. the dark-haired man who left claw marks on her sheets. the redhead who stayed for three nights (a record).
♱ none of them last. none of them matter. but they get to taste her, and you're just the ghost who cleans up their remains.
♱ "my perfect attendant," she calls you, when she bothers to speak to you at all. she doesn’t even know your name, yet you know every detail of her life—how she takes her blood (warm, with a drop of rum), which silk sheets she prefers (harvest gold, 800 thread count), the exact temperature she likes her chambers (a cool 65 degrees).
♱ you know everything except what her fangs would feel like against your throat.
♱ it breaks on a tuesday. you find another lover's scarf wound around her bedpost, stained with blood and something else. your hands shake as you untie it. maybe they were kept captive with it. ungrateful. she wouldn’t have to hold you down for anything. you would prostate, beg for her. you would be good.
♱ "leave it," her voice commands from the doorway. you turn, and finally, finally she's looking at you. but all you can see is the fresh bite mark on her neck, already healing.
♱ something about it needles at you, guts you. she usually doesn’t let them bite her back. "no," you whisper. then louder: "no."
♱ she raises an eyebrow, amused at your defiance. "excuse me?" the scarf falls from your trembling fingers.
♱ "i can't—i won't do this anymore. i can't keep cleaning up after them. after you. i can't—" your voice breaks. tears spill down your cheeks. her amusement vanishes.
♱ “my entire life, i’ve been right there. and i know you know. i know you can smell it.” you practically hiss it. “every day, i debase myself in front of you. i can never hate you but i want to get close.”
♱ "you're dismissed," she says quietly. you laugh through your tears. of course. of course she'd throw you away the moment you showed weakness.
♱ you leave without packing your things, without looking back. you don't see her expression as she watches you go, the way her fingers dig into the doorframe hard enough to splinter wood.
♱ another coven takes you in. lesser nobles, but they're kind enough. you don't have to clean up after anyone's trysts. you don't have to smell blood on sheets or wonder about the sounds coming from behind closed doors. you should be happy.
♱ instead, you dream of her every night. hot, detailed, torrid visions that make you wake weak and wet.
♱ a month passes. then two. you learn to breathe again, to exist in spaces that don't smell like her perfume. "you seem sad," your new mistress says. you force a smile. "only tired."
♱ gyou don't tell her that every room feels wrong, that every bed you make feels empty without gold upon it.
♱ she comes for you on a moonless night. you're changing linens (always changing linens, even here) when the temperature drops. "did you think i would let you go so easily?" her voice slides down your spine like ice. you don't turn around. you can't. “i thought you’d have returned by now, would have reconsidered what you gave up.”
♱ "look at me," she commands. you've never been able to deny her anything. she's exactly as beautiful as you remember, but her eyes are different. starved. "my perfect attendant," she purrs. "do you know how many lovers i've taken since you left?" you flinch. she smiles. "none."
♱ "come home," she says, like it's that simple. you gather your pride around you like armor. “why should i?” her eyes flash. "because you're mine." you laugh, bitter and bright. "i am—i’m not a medarda. i was never yours. i was your furniture, remember? you didn’t even call me by name."
♱ for the first time in centuries, ambessa medarda looks uncertain.
♱ she starts leaving gifts—not just jewelry and silk, but tokens of attention. oysters, shelled and presented to make your consumption easier. books you'd mentioned wanting to read, when you thought she wasn't listening. a bottle of the perfume you wear, worth more than your yearly salary. you send them all back. she needs to learn that you can't be bought.
♱ "tell me how to fix this," she demands one night, appearing in your chambers. you're still in your evening dress from serving at the coven's gathering, throat on display and adorned with delicate chains. her eyes fix on your nervous swallow.
♱ "you can't just command everything better," you say softly. "not this time."
♱ she follows you to another gathering, watching from shadows as you serve blood-wine to lesser vampires. you're dressed in black silk, your neck a graceful line adorned with gold. the whole room's attention shifts when you move—too many hungry eyes, too many sharp smiles. you pretend not to notice. the attention means nothing; it isn’t hers.
♱ you hear her growl when one of them gets too close, asking if you'd like to "serve privately." before she can move, you handle it yourself: a polite smile, a steel-edged refusal. you've learned to navigate these waters. you don't need her protection.
♱ (but oh, how your heart races when you feel her rage across the room. you’re almost sick with it.)
♱ "they want to devour you," she seethes later, cornering you in an empty hallway. "i can smell their desire. their need." you meet her gaze steadily. "now you know how it feels."
♱ understanding dawns in her eyes, followed by something darker. "is this what you felt? watching me with them?" you turn away. her hand catches your wrist. "answer me."
♱ "yes," you whisper. "every night. every morning. watching you choose everyone but me. wanting—" your voice breaks. her grip tightens. "wanting what?" you pull away. "everything. anything. just one taste of being yours."
♱ she moves differently after that.
♱ no more commands, no more assumptions. she courts you properly, like you're something precious. leaves letters detailing all the things she noticed but never said. how graceful your hands are when you pour wine. how your hair settles against your back when you sleep. how she missed your scent in her chambers.
♱ "i may have taken you for granted," she admits one evening. you're both in her study, you perched carefully out of reach. "i thought you would always be there. my perfect girl." her laugh is self-deprecating. "i didn't realize i was losing my only match."
♱ another gathering. another dress. this time when the vampires stare, she's at your side. "she’s spoken for," she says evenly. you raise an eyebrow. "am i?" her hand finds your waist, possessive but questioning. "if you wish to be."
♱ "make me believe it," you challenge. she watches you, then sinks low. she’s kneeling before you and the sight makes you dizzy—ambessa medarda, on her knees. the room goes silent.
♱ "i have loved you," she says, loud enough for all to hear, "in all the wrong ways. let me love you properly." you touch her chin, tilt her face up. "prove it."
♱ she relearns you slowly, deliberately. no more invisible servant—now she watches openly as you move through her chambers. "tell me if you want me to stop," she says, but you don't. you want her to see everything she missed before.
♱ "you've redecorated," she notes one night, when you finally return to her rooms. you've replaced the golden silk with deep purple, changed the artwork, rearranged the furniture. made it yours. "i'm not here to clean up after you anymore," you remind her. she traces a finger along your jaw. "no. you aren’t."
♱ the first time she feeds from you, it's like death— you are breaking apart all at once; you are coming together and it is sweet.
♱ "you taste like nectar," she breathes against your throat. you thread fingers through her hair, holding her close. "you taste like mine," you answer. she shudders against you.
♱ the next time she kneels for you is in the drawing room, her head beneath your skirts and your legs on her shoulders. she laps at you, pulls orgasm after orgasm from you until you kick at her back. even then she continues, with fingers instead of tongue. the pain, the pleasure—it’s endless.
♱ old habits die hard—sometimes she still tries to command rather than ask. but now when she slips, you arch an eyebrow and wait. "please," she'll correct herself, the word foreign and stilted on her tongue. you reward her with kisses that always spiral out of control.
♱ you keep one of her old lover's scarves, tucked away in a drawer. sometimes when she's being particularly imperious, you take it out, let her see it. "i could leave again," you remind her. she pulls you into her lap, buries her face in your neck. "you won’t. it won’t be as easy. you know this." you gasp as her teeth sink in.
♱ "do you miss it?" she asks once. "taking care of me?" you run your fingers along her spine. "i still take care of you. i just do it as your equal now."
♱ she presses you into silk sheets, whispers "show me" against your skin. you do.
♱ you catch her watching you dress for bed, something vulnerable in her eyes. "what is it?" you ask. "i suppose i keep waiting," she admits, "for you to decide that you would like something different." you straddle her lap, cradle her face in your hands. "i decided that i deserve exactly what i chose."
♱ the other covens still whisper—about how the great ambessa medarda let a servant become her consort, about how she kneels for you in private (did it in public, even). they don't understand that she's never been stronger than when she's yielding to you.
♱ besides, it is you who often submits. she drives you insane with how much you need her. you just force her to work for it.
♱ "sweet girl," she calls you now, never attendant. occasionally, she speaks your name, usually in the midst of pleasure. you're arranging flowers in her study (old habits), and she's watching you like you're something holy.
♱ you meet her eyes in the mirror. "yes, mistress?"
♱ her eyes darken. she rolls up her sleeves, comes over.
sevika.
♱ she comes to collect on a sunday. you're serving tea to your mother when the door creaks open—no knock, no warning. just sevika, silco's enforcer, filling the doorway like an omen.
♱ "time to pay up," she drawls, flashes teeth. your mother starts to cry. you pour another cup of tea.
♱ "would you like some?" you ask, steady-handed despite your racing heart. she blinks, caught off-guard by your composure. "what?" you gesture to the cup. "it's jasmine. very soothing."
♱ her laugh is sharp as broken glass. "you think tea will save you from your family's debts?" "no," you say simply. "but it might buy me an hour to pack."
♱ she studies you over the rim of the teacup she doesn't remember accepting. you pretend not to notice how she watches your throat when you swallow hard. "one hour," she agrees. you hide a smile in your cup.
♱ one hour becomes one day. becomes one week. becomes one month. you're clever with your delays—always just reasonable enough, always with something to offer. "you're playing a dangerous game, priya," she warns you.
♱ your fingers brush hers as you hand her another cup of tea. "i know."
♱ she begins to linger after delivering silco's threats and your family home becomes a strange fairytale in this winter—ice flowers blooming on windows, shadows moving like living things, sevika's footsteps echoing on wooden floors. you serve tea in your grandmother's bone china cups, and sometimes there are teeth marks on the rims that weren't there before.
♱ you always meet in your mother's parlor, all faded elegance and desperate pride. snow falls outside like ash, and the samovar steams in the corner, waiting. when sevika enters, the dark worn world follows her—frost crawling up the windows, ice crystallizing in your lungs. you never stood a chance at escape. so you just shift the goal.
♱ you learn that her mechanical arm aches in the cold, the phantom of the real one haunting her. that she has a secret fondness for your mother's butter cookies.
♱ "you're stalling," she tells you over and over. "yes," you agree. "is it working?"
♱ your mother catches on first. "oh, clever girl," she whispers, watching sevika watch you over dinner. "but be careful. a jaguar is still a jaguar even if it hides its teeth." you think of the way sevika's hands shook when you touched her last, how she pulls back if you flinch even slightly at her approach. "mmm. the jaguar is still a cat."
♱ your first kiss tastes like smoke and metal. she's furious about something—another clever excuse, another day bought—and you silence her with your mouth. she pulls back, eyes wide.
♱ "you can't seduce your way out of this," she tells you, her voice almost dead. you trace her bottom lip with your thumb. "i’m not trying to. my desire for you is a separate thing."
♱ she brings you gifts that feel like warnings: a silver hairpin sharp enough to kill, a red cloak lined with raven feathers, a ring set with stones that look like frozen blood. "are you trying to save me or damn me?" you ask, letting her fasten the clasp at your throat. she kisses your pulse point. "both. neither. everything."
♱ you find out she's older than your great-grandmother's grandmother. "does it bother you?" she asks roughly. you're curled in her lap, mapping the scars on her human hand. "does what bother me? that you're ancient?" she pinches your side. you kiss her neck. "you're just well-preserved."
♱ eventually, your meddling works. after one too many unsuccessful collections, silco summons you both.
♱ "fascinating," he muses, taking in sevika's protective stance, your carefully blank expression. "you've found quite an interesting solution to your family's situation." you meet his knowing gaze. you let your heart marr your face with its emotion. "oh, how sweet,” he murmurs. “marry my enforcer, erase the debt. is this what you want?"
♱ “i want to live,” you answer, with your jutting out. you feel sevika turn and look at you, feel the realiztion come that she’s been a (delightful) means to an end.
♱ "you’ve been using me," she accuses later, pressing you against your bedroom wall. "from the first day.” you wrap your arms around her neck. pull at her hair until her head falls back."yes." she shudders. "why?" you kiss her mechanical knuckles. "because i see you and you see me. really see me. you know i am wicked and you still drink my tea.”
♱ she fucks you hard, fast. your stomach is bruised from where she holds you, your legs nicked by her claws as she grabs you when you try to scramble away. she’s mean, understandably confused and maybe even feeling betrayed. you let her rut her frustration onto your cunt, gasp softly as she laps her slick from between your folds.
♱ “i should drain you,” she murmurs into your sweat-slick neck. you pull away, grasp her jaw. “i often thought that you should eat me. dreamed of it. sometimes,” you confess, “i even came. i had to squirrel away the sheets before my mother could find them.” she shakes, slips a finger inside of you. “liar,” she accuses. “if that makes it easier,” you respond.
♱ "my mother believes i did this to save us" you tell her one night, snow gathering on the windowsills like secrets. "she thinks i'm sacrificing myself." sevika's hand whirs as she pulls you closer. "aren't you?" you smile against her throat. "i only reward myself in this life. it’s not a sacrifice if you really want it."
♱ your wedding preparations become a dance of power and submission. you choose a lavish black dress with silver threading for the rehersal, drape yourself in diamonds cold as death. "you look like you're already one of us," sevika murmurs, and you can't tell if she's pleased or terrified. "isn't that what you really want?" you ask. her silence tastes pleasant.
♱ the night before your wedding, you find her in the garden, snow melting around her feet. "having second thoughts?" you ask, wrapping your arms around her waist. she rocks into you. "wondering when exactly i lost control of this," she admits. you press closer, sharing warmth she doesn't need. "bold of you to assume you ever had it."
♱ your wedding is a power play, a business transaction, a love story written in blood and tea leaves. you wear red and gold, traditional colors for a vampire's bride. sevika looks at you like she's drowning. "still think i'm just a clever little girl?" you whisper during your first dance. she kisses you hard enough to break your jaw. "you're the most dangerous woman i've ever met."
♱ you move into her quarters in silco's mansion—all dark wood and darker secrets. at night, you hear screams from the lower levels, but you never flinch. instead, you pour tea rigidly in cups rimmed with gold, light candles that smell of grape and amber, create a home in the heart of a monster's lair.
♱ "you should be more afraid of me," she tells you one night, after you've watched her tear someone apart. you're helping her clean blood from her joints, gentle and thorough. "what’s the point? i’m in this now. anway, you should be afraid of me," you counter, pressing a kiss to her gore-stained knuckles. her laugh catches in her throat.
♱ silco watches you at dinner parties, amused by how you've tamed his beast. but he doesn't see how you feed her morsels from your fingers, how your soft touches leave her trembling, how your love is its own kind of violence. how you aren’t afraid to lash her with it, refuse her affection to keep her in line. you know she needs this, that she’s rarely had it before.
♱ "you've made her weak," he accuses. you smile, all teeth. "i've made her mine."
♱ you develop rituals together, sacred as prayer and sharp as knives. every night, you clean her mechanical arm—each gear, each plate, each deadly piece. your hands never shake, even when they're stained with someone else's blood. "my good girl," she murmurs, and you pretend not to notice how her voice trembles.
♱ the tea ceremony becomes something close to holy between you. your grandmother's samovar, polished until it shines like a mirror, brewing tea dark as sin. you pour with steady hands while she tells you about the night's violence.
♱ sometimes you taste copper in the cup and realize she's kissed the rim, leaving traces of her work behind. you drink it anyway.
♱ you draw her baths after hunts, water turning pink with vicera that isn't hers. she lets you wash her hair, lets you trace the scars on her back, lets you piece her together again. "i could kill you just like this," she says when you massage her scalp. you kiss her shoulder. "i’d drag you down."
♱ on cold nights, you brush and braid her hair, weaving in strips of leather and small, sharp blades. your touches are gentle but your intentions aren't, and she knows it. "am i pretty enough yet?" she teases. you rest your chin on her shoulder, dig down. "you’re easily the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen." her pupils dilate and her legs part, so you reach a hand around her waist to drag between them.
♱ the other vampires think it's sweet, how you wait up for her. they don't see how you position yourself by windows, arranging your reflection to watch all the doors. how your devotion has teeth.
♱ you keep her schedule in a leather-bound book, writing in codes you invented as a child. meetings marked in red ink, kills in black, feeding times in gold. "my good little wife," she coos, but you catch her studying the patterns you create, trying to decode your secrets.
♱ sometimes she brings you presents from her hunts—jewelry still warm from its previous owners, books with bloodstained pages. you accept them with genuine delight, arrange them carefully in your shared space. "magpie," she calls you fondly. "collecting pretty things." you don't tell her that she was your first collection. your most prized.
♱ your bedroom becomes a museum of decadent violence—diamond necklaces with broken clasps, antique daggers hung like artwork, silk sheets that have seen both birth and death. you keep her arm's spare parts in a velvet-lined box beside your perfumes.
♱ "do you ever regret it?" she asks one night, watching you stitch up a wound on her human arm. your needle is silver, your thread is silk, your hands are sure. "falling in love with someone—someone like me?"
♱ you tie off the suture with precise fingers. "you simply have claws and i’ve always believed love was meant to scar." she kisses you, surging forward to suck you up.
bonus: vi.
♱ you first notice her at the local underground fighting rings, all raw power and feral grins. you can smell what she is - werewolf, obviously - but she's so young and unrefined in her movements that you assume she must be newly turned. still, something about her draws your centuries-old heart.
♱ you only dare to attend the fights under the guise of accompanying your brother, a known patron of these brutal entertainments. each night you tell yourself you'll stop coming, stop watching her. each night you fail, drawn to the way she dominates the ring with savage grace. you wonder if she could make you fall like that.
♱ she catches you watching one night, corners you in the shadowy hallway with a grin that's all teeth. "see something you like, vamp?" she asks, and you flush.
♱ you turn, run away, your chest clenching tightly as you remember her in the privacy of your rooms. your fingers work deep inside you and you let out a small wail as you think of her tattooed hands inside you instead.
♱ she keeps showing up at your usual haunts, those golden eyes following you with an intensity that makes your dead heart flutter. when she finally approaches you again, her flirting is clumsier but endearing, and you find yourself charmed by this baby wolf despite yourself.
♱ “it’s good to meet you under proper circumstances, vi,” you say and her eyes shine at her name.
♱ your "guidance" begins with teaching her to hunt properly, but she always seems to know exactly where to find her prey. you chalk it up to natural instinct until you notice how the other wolves defer to her in passing. still, the way she looks at you with those eager eyes makes you forget your suspicions.
♱ quiet moments become your undoing - the way she brings you still-warm blood in crystal glasses, how she curls around you on cold mornings like you're pack. you find yourself sharing centuries of secrets, and she listens with an ancient patience that should have been your first clue.
♱ the first time she takes you to her territory, deep in the woods where the trees whisper ancient songs, you feel the power thrumming through the earth. she presses you against the bark and holds you as you’re ravaged by the first feel of the werewolf bond. you let her. her hands leave bruises that heal too quickly.
♱ you convince yourself it's only in your head, her unwavering attention, just the mental thrill of forbidden fruit. but then she starts leaving little gifts where only you'll find them - a baby blue ribbon for your throat or hair, a wolf's tooth on a golden chain. each token makes your dead heart ache with something you dare not name.
♱ but the world cannot allow you peace. the tension between covens and packs grows thicker than old blood. you see it in the way your kind bare their fangs at passing wolves, in how the wolves' eyes gleam with barely contained violence in return.
♱ still, you meet her in secret, pretending the world isn't fracturing around you.
♱ when the council announces the marriage alliances, you volunteer quickly - anything to make living easier for her. she is young, has so much ahead of her. you arrive at court in your finest blacks, ready to do your duty. then you see her standing among the pack leaders, power radiating from her like the sun.
♱ it's when, in the middle of this supernatural court, that someone addresses her as "heir apparent" and your world tilts on its axis. the realization hits like a stake to the heart.
♱ vi, heir to the most powerful pack in the territory, had been letting you believe she was some untrained pup. the way you’ve been treating her is deeply disgraceful. you can feel her eyes burning into you as you swear your agreement to whatever contract, make your excuses, and flee under the pretense of preparing for the following diplomatic talks.
♱ your pride wounded, you avoid her for days that stretch into weeks. but she's persistent - leaving gifts at your door, handwritten notes that smell of earth and pine. your resolve weakens with each gesture, even as you try to stay angry
♱ she finds you anyway, because of course she does. she corners you in your own haven, and there's nothing puppy-like about her now. her power fills the room like smoke, making your knees weak. "enough games," she orders, and when she kisses you this time, there's no pretense of submission.
♱ "i know i withheld, but i only wanted to keep this.” you say nothing, raise a hand to sound the servants bell. she grasps your fingers, holds your hand. “i know you’re upset, but did you really think i'd let them marry you off to some other wolf?" she’s walking you forward, backing you against the library shelves.
♱ "i've been working for months to position myself as the logical choice for this alliance." her laugh is dark and rich against your throat. “even brought up the damn idea myself.”
♱ “i wasn’t listening,” you finally say. “i only answered to leave faster. to be less humiliated.” she softens at that.
♱ "that wasn’t ever the intention, my love.” you look away. “but did you really think i was some newborn pup?" she whispers against your throat, teeth grazing your skin. "i've been alpha-in-training since before you noticed your first gray hair, little bat."
♱ "all those nights at the fights," she continues, "watching you try to hide your interest from your brother, from everyone. knowing you thought you were being so careful with the naïve little wolf." her hands grip your hips possessively. "when really, i was just waiting for the perfect moment to claim what's mine.”
♱ the way she manhandles you onto your own bed leaves no doubt about who's really in charge.
♱ "my sweet girl," she groans as she marks your throat, your chest, your thighs. "watching you try to show me how to track when i could smell your desire from miles away. how to fight when i've led warriors. but gods, the way you touched me like i was new to this world…"
♱ she bullies her fingers into you, milks you until you cry. after, her mouth finds your cunt and she eats of you—slurping so loudly that you cover your face with embarrassment. she only grins, laps at you harder. you white out as she orders you to cum again.
♱ and so the war that threatened to tear your worlds apart becomes the very thing that lets you keep her. your nights are filled with new lessons now - how her pack honors the old ways, how the moon-song flows through her bloodline. in public, you play the part of diplomatic necessity. in private, she follows your body like law until your weeping and can barely stay up.
♱ she returns from hunts, blood-drunk and fierce but still gentle as she pulls you close. you think that perhaps being prey wasn’t the worst thing. this was your way of finally belonging to something wild and true.

Except it doesn't work.
This is actually a key concept in patriarchy!
Women are intended to serve as the civilizing force.
The morality police.
The moral compass.
Women allow, men test.
Men who are in the patriarchy will consistently value the opinions of their male friends and prioritize male friendship groups, their hierarchy, and their bonding rituals over the women in their lives while also consistently laying the responsibility for fixing the emotional wounds caused by those friendships.
The form that most abuse from patriarchal men takes is specifically either mobbing women by repeatedly exposing them to the same messaging over and over by groups of men or guilting women into thinking that they are being unreasonable or too demanding or that life is actually too hard for them.
It's not that men's lives aren't hard.
It's that when those men talk, all the complaints consistently circle back to the idea that the reason being a man is hard is that women will not take pity on them and consent to sex they don't want or relationships they're not interested in just to make them feel better.
The sense of aggrieved entitlement serves to shift the blame on women for speaking out about the things that they have experienced, or create the narrative that the job of society is to make ways to trick women into sex or relationships that they don't want in order to prevent depression, neuroticism, anti social behavior, etc. In men.
This isn't a secret. It's literally a verbatim narrative that men circulate in covert ways. The male loneliness epidemic is radicalizing young men. Not to volunteer at nursing homes or animal shelters. Not to call for more mental health support. Not to call for more paid time off so that the average person can spend more time with their loved ones. Specifically, the main thrust of the article is "if women don't fall back in line men will become violent predators." When I was younger, this was often presented with examples from ancient Greece and Rome? I forget the guy. There was a Roman historian who had this idea that young men were only interested in creating radical social change in ancient Rome because too many of the wealthy older men had too many wives and concubines. Jordan Peterson used to trot that guy out. It doesn't matter. The ancient Romans thought owls were vampires, bro.
But it's just the same thing. Last week I saw this thing on reddit where some guy was posting that the male suicide rate is higher for short men.
And I don't want that. I don't think that's a good idea. But is "Give me sex" or "give me a relationship you don't want or are not ready for" something I am going to be prepared to do with my entire life, potentially, because of the implication?
Part of rape culture is the idea that men can't control or regulate their own emotions and that women can. Women are supposed to be independent, mysterious, not ever seek attention, ashamed of wanting validation. Women are meant to find it easy to follow all social rules and to also covertly influence and help the people around them to follow social rules through hints that help them to save face. Women are supposed to avoid leading men on. They are supposed to avoid being too deceptive in their beauty regimen. They are supposed to avoid being too demanding of men and making it too hard for them to get whatever it is they want. They are supposed to completely repent and change their entire character if they change the type of relationship they want- the woman who has had casual sex is supposed to pretend to be ashamed and that all the sex she experienced was a sign of unhealed trauma and she's a good girl now and she knows that dating men who please her sexually or that she is physically attracted to or that is too nice to her or is too smart or too good to be true is a red flag, actually. She is supposed to buy into the idea that "a healthy relationship will be boring" because what makes relationships exciting is somehow abuse. She is supposed to settle down, not up.
There's this thing I notice a lot.
A thing where a lot of women who seek advice from other women for things like feeling exhausted and burnt out from doing too much of the household maintenance are asked if their spouse has adhd or autism, as if rather than getting those things treated or seeking self help advice for those things if they impact your ability to take care of yourself, the solution is just to ask your partner to do them. There is a form of this question that will be leveled when both partners are the same age and both partners are neurodivergent.
Yes, it is nice when you can be nice to people and help them get deradicalized. But the people who do that type of work professionally have support networks and professional training. And sometimes you can be nice to someone and it helps them. But the more you do that, the more likely it is that you will be targeted by people who want to hurt you or silence you or shut you up, or that this particular piece of the patriarchy where people use your desire to help people and be kind to them and give them the benefit of the doubt against you with the intent of making you believe their way of thinking.
It cannot be a social norm that women owe men sex, commitment, babies, etc no matter how they are treated in response to giving those things to prevent social collapse.
It cannot be a social norm that men get to abuse women by proxy by threatening to hurt other women or other marginalized people if women do not comply.
It also cannot be a social norm that people are expected to be kind to people who are exhibiting radicalized behaviors and also that people are constantly accusing one another in moral purity witch hunts as a way to isolate them from support networks so that if someone tried to help someone who attempted to befriend people in order to try to see if they could help them see another way results in creating a situation where they have no recourse if they are targeted by extremist groups in retaliation and agents provocateur who try to use their old support network against them.
There actually are a lot of male voices on the left including men who specialize in anti manosphere content, mentorship to men who feel like they need positive older men to talk to as role models, men who talk about why toxic masculinity hurt them in the past in ways that don't have to do with relationships, people who were amab and who aren't men talking about what that experience of growing up with people trying to force masculinity on them is like, and teams which include men and women as friends and colleagues and even some that are married or dating.
But this talking point survives because it helps to radicalize women into misogyny by trying to get them to take accountability for the behavior of misogynistic men and also encouraging them to doubt their own experiences or their own rights to their own story and to the community of other people with similar experiences by telling them that they are somehow poisoning men. They are responsible for taming them.
posts about the alt-right pipeline being compassionate towards young men while radical leftists shun and shame them are not fucking saying "the men are becoming violent because feminists are too mean!" and if that is your takeaway you need to get off tumblr until you've better honed your critical thinking skills.
those posts are talking about how effective the language and approach you take in your activism can be. this is literally cult deprogramming 101. if someone is being taken in by a violent or dangerous group, that violent or dangerous group is usually offering them compassion and solace while working hard to convince them everyone else in the world is their enemy. you are under no obligation to coddle or act compassionate toward these men and their violent ideologies, but if you have the means to try, it is something that you can do to make a tangible difference.
radicalized people are often only one loving friend or family member or external voice away from being de-radicalized. of course that is not always the case, but it very often is. a lot of y'all rightfully understand that you do not carry the burden of being that voice, but a lot of y'all also have a lot of internalized ideas about morals and punitive justice and have simply written off these people as deserving of only the worst and not worth saving.
ten years ago, my grandmother was a fox news watching republican who voted red in every election and very well could have fallen down the qanon rabbit hole if not for me and her daughter challenging her compassionately, walking her through hypotheticals that validated her feelings & proving why they were false, & being patient with her despite our extreme division in political ideology. it was frustrating fucking work! but i decided i wanted to do it, because i could see the horizon and i could see me making a difference!
"misogynists have been saying feminists are too mean for years, get new material" that is not the fucking POINT. the point is that you, feminist, can be the compassionate voice that guides your brother, your father, your cousin, your grandfather away from fucking becoming or staying a nazi. you can show them compassion and companionship. you can be the woman they think of when their alt-right bros try to convince them that women are the enemy. and you can choose to crystallize that image of yourself so wholly in their mind's eye as worth protecting that they may very well choose to reject those harmful ideas.
it's not saying you HAVE to do it! it's saying you CAN do it! don't you 'firebomb a walmart' people all love taking change into your own hands? where the fuck is that energy right now, huh?

Street Rat
Word count: 3.4k
A/N: uhhh.... street rat! reader, pathetic thing yayyy!! i'll probably build off this eventually- work has been kicking my ASSS
not proof read, i'm tired, i work and have a new kitten 😭
-----enjoy my loves-----
You weren't the sharpest tool in the shed, let's just say.
Having your ass handed to you by some hooligans when trying to swipe their bag of cogs at one of the various bars in the Undercity isn't one of your finest moments let's be honest-
You cough with a groan as the older male of the group grabs you by your chin, forcing your hazy eyes to meet his, the blood running down from the gash over your left eyebrow not making it any easier for you to focus.
His eyes narrow as your own do, he scoffs and lets go of your chin allowing you to fall onto your hands with a groan of discomfort. “A shame we had to get our hands dirty with such a little thing,” he comments, the other men chuckling as your stomach churns- “we could've had a better time doing more entertaining things than fighting.”
You scoff sourly as you try to get up, pushing off the dirty concrete under your hands, spitting out some blood out of your mouth with a growl, “god you wish…” you hiss, before a pained yelp falls from your lips as the man’s boot makes contact with your ribs, kicking you back down.
You hold the spot he kicked, whining softly at the pain as the man walked closer to you, leaning on his knees as he tilted his head to the side, “you're lucky we've got a card game to finish up.”
and just like that, they left you on the street, bleeding, maybe dying a little but who cares? Nobody, it seems like as you lay there for god knows how long until you hear a sharp scoff off to your right.
Your eyes trail up to see.. a cyborg.. woman?
your... not really sure what the fuck she is..
She's smirking at you with a mix of amusement and- slight.. worry?
“The fuck you looking at..?” you hiss, trying to hide the wince of pain in your voice.
The woman scoffs and she rolls her eyes, “You, you look like absolute fucking shit .”
“Thanks.”
“Your welcome, Doll.”
Sevika smirked, crossing her arms over her chest as she leaned lazily against the grimy wall of the alley. Her mechanical arm whirred faintly, catching the dim, flickering light from a nearby streetlamp. Her gaze swept over you, taking in your bruised face, bloodied lip, and the way you were clutching your ribs like you might fall apart if you let go.
“Don’t let the blood fool you,” you growled, voice shaky but determined. You pushed yourself up to your knees, swaying slightly as the ground spun beneath you. “I can still throw a punch.”
Sevika let out a low, amused chuckle, shaking her head. “Oh, I’m sure you can, doll. But let’s be real—one good gust of wind might knock you out right now.”
You glared at her, your vision still a little blurry from the gash above your eyebrow. “Don’t test me.”
“Oh, I’m terrified,” Sevika mocked, the smirk on her lips widening. “Look at you, all bark and no bite. You’re a scrappy little thing, I’ll give you that. But you’re lucky those guys didn’t finish the job.”
You bristled, the mix of adrenaline and indignation overriding the pain for just a moment. “I didn’t need your commentary, tin can.”
Sevika’s smirk faltered for a split second, replaced by something sharper—something dangerous. She pushed off the wall, her full height towering over you as she took a slow step closer.
“What was that?” she asked, her tone low and threatening.
For a moment, you hesitated, the weight of her presence pressing down on you like a physical force. But you weren’t about to back down.
“I said,” you rasped, squaring your shoulders despite the ache in your ribs, “I don’t need your help or your attitude. I can handle myself.”
Sevika snorted, shaking her head as she crouched down to your level. The smell of smoke and oil clung to her like a second skin. Her dark eyes locked onto yours, her expression caught somewhere between amusement and pity.
“Sure you can,” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “That’s why you’re lying in a puddle of your own blood, playing tough with someone who could snap you in half.”
You opened your mouth to retort, but she cut you off, standing abruptly and letting out a sigh. “Listen, I’ve got better things to do than babysit some half-dead alley rat. But I’ll give you a choice: I can leave you here, and maybe you bleed out before those assholes come back to finish what they started… or you can swallow your pride and let me help you.”
The choice hung heavy in the air, her sharp gaze daring you to refuse.
But as needy as you were, you had a hell of a lot of attitude.
You scowled up at her, spitting blood to the side again as you forced yourself to your feet, clutching your ribs. “I’ll take my chances with bleeding out, thanks,” you snapped, glaring daggers at her. “Don’t need some half-baked hero act from a walking toolbox.”
Sevika blinked at you, her smirk fading into something colder. Her expression didn’t shift much—she just raised an eyebrow and let out a short, humorless laugh. “Suit yourself, doll.”
With that, she turned on her heel, her mechanical arm flexing slightly as she stuffed her flesh hand into her jacket pocket. Her boots clacked against the cracked pavement as she strode toward the mouth of the alley, her figure disappearing into the haze of smoke and faint neon light.
You stood there, swaying slightly, a mix of frustration and regret bubbling in your chest. You hated that you’d let her get under your skin, hated even more how quickly she dismissed you like you weren’t worth her time. But mostly, you hated the way your stomach growled, reminding you how long it had been since your last meal.
Your pride warred with your desperation as you lingered, gritting your teeth. Eventually, with a growl of frustration, you limped forward, catching sight of her just as she was about to round a corner.
“Wait!” you called out, your voice cracking slightly. Sevika paused, glancing back over her shoulder with a raised brow.
You hesitated, fidgeting as you leaned heavily against the wall. “Do you… have any cash on you?” you mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
Sevika’s smirk returned, slow and deliberate. She turned fully, crossing her arms as she studied you. “Cash?” she repeated, as if testing the word out. “Didn’t you just tell me you didn’t need my help?”
You glared at her, though it lacked the venom it had earlier. “Yeah, well, I changed my mind. You gonna gloat, or are you gonna help?”
Sevika chuckled, taking a step closer as she fished something out of her jacket pocket. “You’re lucky you’re kind of amusing, doll,” she muttered, tossing a small hand bag of whatever your way.
You caught them awkwardly, wincing as the movement jarred your ribs. Sevika watched you for a moment longer before shrugging and turning to leave again.
“Don’t spend it all in one place,” she called over her shoulder, the amusement in her tone unmistakable.
—(time skip)
It wasn’t anything new. The Undercity thrived on desperation and violence, and you were just unlucky enough to keep getting caught in its teeth. The older woman who ran a small, rundown food stall had been kind to you once, giving you a hot bowl of soup when you looked ready to drop dead on her doorstep. You hadn’t expected her generosity to last forever, but that didn’t stop you from trying your luck again.
The air smelled of damp metal and stale grease as you crept toward the stall, your stomach twisting with hunger. You spotted the woman setting up for the day, her wiry frame moving with practiced ease as she laid out bowls and utensils. You opened your mouth to call out to her when a sharp voice behind you made your blood run cold.
“Well, well, if it isn’t the little street rat again,” sneered a man’s voice.
You turned slowly, your heart sinking as you saw a familiar face among the group of three closing in on you. One of the same guys who had beaten you senseless a few weeks ago, the gash he’d left on your brow now a faded scar.
“Back for more, huh?” he taunted, cracking his knuckles. “Figured you’d learn your lesson by now, but I guess some people just can’t help being stupid.”
Your throat tightened as you took a shaky step back, glancing around for an escape route. The older woman at the stall had noticed the commotion and was watching with wide, worried eyes, but she didn’t make a move to intervene. You couldn’t blame her. Getting involved in fights like this only brought trouble.
“Look, I’m not looking for any problems,” you said quickly, raising your hands in a placating gesture.
“Too late for that,” the man growled, and before you could react, his fist connected with your stomach. You doubled over with a choked gasp, falling to your knees as the air was knocked from your lungs.
The others closed in, one of them yanking you up by the back of your jacket. You squirmed, trying to throw an elbow, but it only earned you a sharp jab to the ribs that left you gasping.
“What’s the matter?” one of them jeered. “Thought you said you could fight?”
You clenched your teeth, glaring up at them through the haze of pain. A part of you wanted to fight back, to spit in their faces and prove you weren’t some helpless victim. But another part of you—one that was tired and bruised and just plain done—knew you didn’t stand a chance.
“Maybe we should make an example of this one,” the leader said, his grin sharp and cruel.
Before he could act, a low, familiar voice cut through the tension like a blade.
“Didn’t realize it was open season on small fry,” Sevika drawled, stepping out of the shadows. Her mechanical arm gleamed faintly in the dim light, and the way she stood—casual but coiled, like a predator about to strike—made the group pause.
“Sevika?” you rasped, half in relief, half in disbelief.
Her sharp gaze flicked to you briefly before settling on the men holding you. “Let the kid go,” she said, her voice calm but laced with steel. “Unless you want to see how hard I hit.”
The group exchanged uncertain glances, clearly weighing their odds. But Sevika’s reputation was enough; with a few muttered curses, they dropped you unceremoniously to the ground and retreated, disappearing into the haze.
Sevika watched them go before turning her attention to you. She crouched down, her expression unreadable. “Didn’t expect to find you playing punching bag again, doll,” she said, her tone somewhere between amusement and exasperation.
You scowled up at Sevika, wiping a trail of blood from the corner of your mouth with the back of your hand. The ache in your ribs flared as you shifted, but you ignored it, your pride stinging more than the bruises.
“Didn’t ask for your help,” you hissed, glaring at her as she stood over you.
Sevika didn’t flinch, her sharp eyes sweeping over you with an air of practiced indifference. “Yeah, well, you looked like you were about to lose a few teeth,” she shot back, standing to her full height and turning away. “Try not to get yourself killed, kid.”
And just like that, she walked off, her boots echoing against the concrete.
For a moment, you stayed where you were, stewing in your frustration. Your gaze dropped to the ground as you weighed your options. You could stay here, licking your wounds and pretending you didn’t need anyone, or you could—against all your better judgment—go after her.
You gritted your teeth. The idea of trailing after Sevika like some lost puppy made your stomach turn, but… where else were you going to go? You were broke, bruised, and starving, and while Sevika wasn’t exactly the picture of compassion, she’d gotten you out of a tight spot twice now.
“God, I hate this,” you muttered under your breath, forcing yourself to stand despite the pain in your side.
Your legs carried you after her, the distance between you and her widening until you broke into a stumbling jog to catch up. Sevika didn’t even glance back as you fell into step behind her, her broad shoulders cutting an imposing figure against the dim light of the Undercity.
“I’m not following you,” you blurted after a moment, more for your own dignity than anything else. “I’m just… heading the same way.”
“Uh-huh,” Sevika said, her tone flat.
You glared at her back, resisting the urge to snap at her again. “Where are you even going?”
She shrugged, her mechanical arm whirring faintly as she adjusted her jacket. “Somewhere that doesn’t involve babysitting,” she said dryly.
“Great,” you muttered, ignoring the heat rising to your cheeks. “Guess I’ll just… keep you company.”
Sevika’s smirk was faint, but you didn’t miss it as she glanced over her shoulder. “Whatever you need to tell yourself, doll.”
Sevika didn’t slow her pace, her strides long and deliberate, while you hobbled along behind her, trying not to let your limp show too much. You were determined to keep up, if only to avoid looking even more pathetic than you already felt.
“I’m not looking for a pity party,” you muttered at one point, more to yourself than to her.
“Good,” Sevika replied without missing a beat. “Wouldn’t give you one anyway.”
Her bluntness made you bristle, but you bit back any retort. Talking to her was like punching a brick wall—painful and pointless.
Eventually, she came to a stop at a stall tucked into the side of a dingy building, the smell of sizzling meat and spices wafting through the air. The vendor, a wiry man with a crooked smile, greeted her with a casual nod.
“Usual?” the vendor asked, already reaching for a stack of greasy paper.
“Yeah,” Sevika replied, digging into her jacket pocket for a handful of crumpled bills.
You hung back awkwardly, shuffling your feet as Sevika leaned on the counter, her mechanical fingers drumming a steady rhythm against the metal. The sight of the food—whatever it was—made your stomach churn with hunger, but you refused to say a word.
That resolve shattered the moment your stomach betrayed you, letting out a loud, miserable growl that seemed to echo in the quiet of the alley.
Sevika glanced over her shoulder, an eyebrow raised, while the vendor paused mid-motion, his eyes flicking between the two of you. You felt your face heat up as you clutched your ribs, trying to play it off like it wasn’t a big deal.
“Shut up,” you mumbled to your stomach, cursing yourself inwardly.
Sevika’s smirk was slow, her sharp eyes gleaming with amusement. “That you, or is there a dog around here I don’t see?” she teased.
“Bite me,” you shot back, glaring at her through your embarrassment.
“Careful what you wish for,” Sevika said with a low chuckle. She turned back to the vendor, gesturing toward you with her thumb. “Throw in another, on me.”
Your jaw dropped. “I don’t need—”
“Relax,” she cut you off, not even looking your way. “It’s not charity. I just don’t want you keeling over before you can finish being annoying.”
You wanted to argue, but the smell of the food was too enticing, and the growl of your stomach made it clear you weren’t in a position to refuse. You muttered a begrudging “thanks” under your breath, still avoiding Sevika’s gaze.
She didn’t acknowledge it, only taking the food when it was handed over and shoving one of the wrapped portions into your hands. “Eat,” she said simply, her tone leaving no room for debate, before turning to walk off again like nothing had happened.
Sevika slowed her pace just enough to glance at you over her shoulder, watching as you tried to juggle eating and walking without looking like you’d never seen food before. Her expression was unreadable, her dark eyes sharp but not unkind.
After a moment, she asked, “So, what’s your deal? You always been this bad at staying out of trouble, or is it just a recent thing?”
You paused mid-bite, the question catching you off guard. Swallowing quickly, you shrugged, trying to keep your tone casual. “Guess you could say I’ve always been a bit of a… ‘street rat.’”
Sevika raised an eyebrow, slowing her stride as she turned to face you more fully. “Street rat, huh? That what you’re calling it?”
You huffed, shoving another bite into your mouth to avoid answering too quickly. Once you’d swallowed, you gestured vaguely to the streets around you. “I’ve been out here for as long as I can remember. No family, no home, just… surviving. You know how it is.”
Her expression didn’t shift, but her silence was heavy enough to make you squirm. You tried to fill the void with a bitter laugh. “What, you surprised? Figured you’d have me pegged as a gutter kid the moment you saw me.”
Sevika didn’t respond right away. She was quiet for a long moment, her eyes scanning your face like she was trying to read something in the lines of your expression. Finally, she sighed, shaking her head.
“Not surprised,” she said simply. “But living like that… it eats people alive.”
You shrugged again, trying to play it off, but her words settled uneasily in your chest. “Yeah, well, some of us don’t have a choice.”
Her jaw tightened, and for a moment, it looked like she might say something more. But then she just scoffed and started walking again.
“Guess not,” she muttered. “But you’re still here, so I guess you’re tougher than you look.”
The faintest flicker of pride bloomed in your chest at the comment, though you weren’t about to let it show. Instead, you fell into step behind her again, muttering under your breath, “Damn right I am.”
Sevika’s low chuckle echoed in the air, a sound that somehow managed to be both mocking and oddly approving. She didn’t stop walking, and her pace didn’t slow, as if she knew exactly what you were thinking. You hadn’t even noticed the way your steps had faltered as you’d walked alongside her, your gut twisting in something like regret.
“You really do have a thing for getting yourself in trouble,” she muttered, glancing over her shoulder at you with a smirk. “A real talent for it, honestly.”
You scowled, but didn’t respond, too tired to argue. Your feet dragged slightly behind her now, your earlier confidence slipping away like the last scraps of food you’d barely managed to scarf down.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Sevika added, her voice turning more serious, though the faint amusement never quite left it. “You’re better off on your own, kid. Keep following me around, and you’ll just get yourself hurt more.”
You didn’t even realize the weight in your chest until she said it. A pang of something sharp and uncomfortable hit you, like she’d just thrown you in the dirt and walked away from what little you had left of your pride.
Before you could muster any response, Sevika turned her head fully, giving you a final glance before shaking her head. “Get your shit together,” she said with a scoff, “And don’t waste my time. You’ll be fine out here. If you don’t kill yourself first.”
And just like that, she was gone.
You stood there for a moment, frozen in place as the weight of her words sank in, the quiet hum of the city around you suddenly deafening. The sounds of footsteps on the slick pavement, distant chatter, and the endless pulse of neon light all seemed to fade as the emptiness of the moment pressed in on you.
Alone again.
You sighed heavily, shoulders slumping as you looked at the ground, your fingers digging into the fabric of your jacket as the cold from the night air settled into your bones. You didn’t know why it hurt this much, or why you still felt like you were following some thread that was barely hanging on. Maybe you were just too tired to care.
But you’d never been someone who gave up easily, even if it meant keeping your head down and surviving the way you always had—alone.
"Whatever," you muttered to no one in particular, your voice barely audible over the city’s hum. You turned away, heading in the direction you knew best: forward, with nothing more than the remnants of your pride and a half-empty stomach.
It wasn’t much, but it was all you had.

insecure princess!reader x barbarian!ghost cw: angst, brief sexual mentions, bad writing, confusing ghost insecure princess!reader who has never had any suitors. her sisters overshadow her. her mother pities her, afraid that her daughter will never marry.
fortunately, due to an alliance that her father has made, she finally marries. he's a barbaric prince, shameless and perverted. mean and scary.
princess!reader who tries her best to make love kindle between them, to live the fantasy that she's always had. she rubs lavender oil on her neck, tugs one of her nightgowns straps down her shoulder, to be desirable like the women in paintings. her lady-in-waiting helps her make her hair silky, and her dresses pleasing to the eye. but you can't put lipstick on a pig.
the prince only has her from the back. it's a relief that he wants to make love to her, but at the same time it breaks her heart. she wants to have a face that he wants to look at.
the princess' anxiety only worsens when she notices that the prince's older brother keeps looking at her. she's not used to attention from men, she doesn't know how to interpret it. he might want to hurt her, show everyone just how disgusting she is. or maybe he laughs with his mates about her, just like everyone else. or maybe... he likes the look of her, maybe he'd like to tug her nightgown down and have her chest to chest. it's a stupid thought, she shouldn't entertain them and embarrass herself. and he's her husbands brother!! it's wrong!
then, one night during a feast, her husband's drunk antics drive her to walk away. she wanders the dark hallways of the castle, moonlight and candlelight illuminating the paintings on the walls.
the princess stops to look out of a window, a lone tear running down her cheek. it's an unending weight on her shoulder. she hates the presence of other princess', the prettier princess', they only remind her of what she isn't. knights don't fight for her, artists don't paint her beauty, and princes don't ask her to dance at balls.
a noise makes her jump out of her thoughts, she whips her head around to look down at the hallway. it's him. her husband's brother, ghost. he stands few feet away from the princess, looking her up and down.
"c'mon," he urges, his voice deep and rough. ghost nods, gesturing down the corridor, to the feast. before the princess can even respond, he has already turned around and began to walk back. but she doesn't follow.
the princess stays in place, looking down at the floor as she sniffles. why should she go back there? they don't want her there. the man in armor turns back around when he doesn't hear the princess following after him. ghost lets out a sigh, as he hears her sniffle. with couple of steps, he's standing in front of her.
"why do you cry, princess?" he mutters, reaching up and gently holding her cheek in his scarred hand.
"i hate him..." it's a silent whisper, lost to the silence of the cold castle. her face twists as she fights against more tears.
"walls have ears, and they will twist your words into treason," ghost says firmly, shutting the girl up before she can be her own doom. his thumb run over the bottom of her eye, wiping up the tears that spill. ghost sighs and leans down, pressing a small kiss between her eyebrows.
"sweet princess, you need to return to the feast... i cannot take you away tonight," he whispers huskily.
"take me away...?" she repeats, even quieter, her brows knitted in confusion.
"if i killed him, i could claim you for myself," ghost murmurs. he looks down at her, letting the princess ingest his words.
her eyes are wide in shock. kill? for her? that is the most romantic thing she's ever heard. is this what courting is? if so, then she only wants more of it. she can't tell if he's mocking her, but there's something in his voice that makes her stomach stir with excitement. the wine in his breath makes her consider for a moment that he's messing with her, but she also wants to enjoy the attention.
"h-how would you take his life?" the girl straightens her back, trying to sound more confident.
"i would slit his throat, as easy as slicing a warm pie," ghost says it as if it's nothing, his running along her cheek. "i could take you far away, we would live in a house by the sea and you could wear pretty dresses for only me to see."
her breath hitches, feeling that flutter in her stomach. jesus christ. her hands clutch onto her cute little dress as she squeezes her thighs together. now she regrets giving her virginity to that twig, when a man like this could've had it, a man who truly deserves her purity.
"now be a smart girl and return to the feast." ghost murmurs and turns to walk back to the feast.
what?
she quickly reaches forward, desperately clinging onto the man's arm, to keep him there. if she let's go now, he might just come across a wench or two and change his mind. "b-but you said that-!" she stammers, utterly confused by the change in the air. there's no one there for her. no one who she's welcome to. her heart aches. she thought that this prince wanted her. what did she do wrong? ghost scoffs, gently prying the girls hands off his forearm. "you think it’ll be like a story, a hero slaying the villain and sweeping the princess off her feet. but this is real life," his tone is suddenly colder, more detached. “you’re chasing something that will never be yours.”
her hands stay in the air for a moment when he pulls away from her, reluctant to let go. his words sting, dig in deep and leave a pit for her to collapse in. her hands fall down and settle over her stomach as she fidgets with them.
she opens her mouth to say something, but the words escape her. it all changed so fast. some wench must've bewitched him, taken him from her. why can't she have anything, not even a man who wants her?
he looks at her again, his gaze intense, unflinching. his expression hardens, though there’s still a part of him that almost looks regretful. and then, he just walks away.
the princess can do nothing else than stand in place and hold back tears. she's alone again. the moonlight makes her shaking hands look blue. did she misunderstand? did she wrongly assume the meaning of his words? or was she just so naive?
it hurts to think, and the thoughts themselves hurt even more. it'd better if she just went to bed. ------------------------------------

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Logan's not sure why he goes into the club across the street.
Maybe he needs to feel young again. Maybe he's bored. Maybe the adamantium poisoning the rest of him has finally managed to get to his brain and turned his thoughts into some sort of horny, befuddled shit show.
Or maybe, just maybe, he really is just that fucking desperate.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
It's past midnight when he walks through the door. You've been busy all night, but things are finally starting to wind down, the customers that frequent the small establishment slowly trickling out until only a few remain. None of them are your regulars, and given how empty the doorway has been, you're honestly considering calling it a night and going home early. The past few days have been hellish, full of people who didn't do a damn thing to turn you on, and you'd love nothing more than to sink into a warm, cozy bed and drift off to sleep. Tonight, you've been roaming the floor for the past hour without getting anything- everybody is either interested in another one of the workers or entirely fixated on the dancers.
It's not that you don't like your job- you do. Sure, being a stripper isn't the most flattering form of work, but the bills are paid. That's all that really counts these days. Your pride has long since been discarded in favor of earning hefty tips from the sleazy guys who are dumb enough to believe that you'd actually be into them. You put on a good show, of course, but if it weren't for the money? Not a fucking chance.
You like it that way. Hardly any of your clients go beyond the intimacy of a private dance, mainly because you don't let them, reserving that for your favorites. But you haven't met someone who turns you on in a long while, and without the occasional thrill of a real good time from a customer, you're starting to get bored. The days are blurring together, nothing separating the good days from the bad ones, if there even is such a thing anymore.
You're on your way to ask your boss if you can get off early when you hear the bell ring. You groan internally, realizing that you're the only one on the floor who isn't occupied, meaning if this client is interested, they're yours.
Damn it.
So much for an early night.
You're midway through praying to whatever God is out there that this client tips well when you turn and actually lay eyes on them. The moment you do, your mind goes blank, your prayers long forgotten as your thoughts become consumed by him.
He's older- much older. Pushing sixty, at least. It's not inherently a bad thing, but typically the older they are, the more entitled they become.
You're not usually into older men, finding them self-centered, greedy, unable to keep up with your desires; but you're not even ashamed to admit that this stranger could ask you to do just about anything and you'd probably agree in a heartbeat.
The man is tall, big, his muscular form obvious even underneath the suit and tie he wears. His salt and pepper hair is short, accompanied by a scruffy beard you're certain would feel like heaven against your thighs. His tie is loose, his top button undone, and he's got on a pair of dollar-store glasses that he hasn't even pulled the tag off of. There's a weight to him, an exhaustion that seems to have infiltrated the deepest parts of his soul, as if he's seen things you couldn't even begin to fathom- and yet, he's here, seeking some semblance of relief.
Lucky for him, you know exactly how to give it to him.
He looks around like he's lost, the colorful lights and sultry music overwhelming, the center stage where your coworkers get dollar bills thrown at their feet foreign to him. By the time you've made your way over, your legs moving of their own accord, he's turning to leave. "Hey." You call out, and he stops, turning back around to face you.
He's even bigger up close, and his eyes roam over your form almost shamefully before finally meeting your own. "I was just leaving." His voice is rough, a little scratchy, and while you're sure it's supposed to be intimidating, all it does is further fuel the heat pooling between your legs.
"So soon?" You look up at him with a doe-eyed gaze you're well aware makes men weak in the knees.
"I shouldn't be here." He says, but he doesn't walk away from you.
You move a little closer so your breath is fanning across his neck, your voice dripping with suggestion. "I could show you a good time."
"Listen, sweetheart, I've got-"
Sweetheart.
"Let me take care of you." You lean up to whisper in his ear. Your breath is hot against his skin, your mouth tantalizingly close, and you can feel the way he twitches slightly- an exercise of self-control.
A moment passes, two, and he lets out a long breath. "Fuck, darlin'." He reaches out, hesitant to touch, as if he's not sure how this works, doesn’t want to cross some invisible line he hasn’t learned exists. You take his hand, guiding it to your waist, reaching up to put one hand on the back of his neck. "You sure know how to get a guy wrapped around your finger."
In response, you give a coy smile, taking his tie in one hand and giving it a soft tug. He allows you to guide him, pulling him along by the tie you're sure he has a million ideas of what to do with.
You lead him into a private room, pulling the curtain closed behind you, letting his tie slip out of your grasp. His eyes dart around for a moment, but then you're in front of him again, reaching up and sliding his blazer off of his shoulders. You hang it up on the wall, then return, now slowly guiding him backwards and giving him a gentle shove into the leather chair near the wall. He raises an eyebrow as you circle him, leaning in from behind to whisper in his ear. "Just relax." You murmur, letting your lips graze his neck before pulling away. He leans back, eyes following your every move, a stare that feels like it could set you on fire.
You put on a good show for him- dancing, teasing, tantalizingly close, but never touching. Not yet. You can see the hunger in his gaze, the restraint it takes for him not to pull you down into his lap and keep you there. You give him a strip tease, taking off your bra and letting your breasts go free. His eyes roam over you, a murmured word, "Beautiful," leaving his lips, and that makes your already soaked panties drenched.
Then you give him a lap dance- and unlike most of the men you meet, he doesn't touch, doesn't paw at you. Instead he waits, lets you set the pace, doesn't do anything without your permission. Your hands go to his tie, undoing it at a speed you know is killing him, tossing it aside.
Finally, you rest yourself entirely on his lap, and whisper in his ear. "You can touch now, if you want to."
His hands immediately settle on your hips, like they belong there. You grind down against him, feeling him tense beneath you at the friction against his clothed cock. You repeat the motion, relishing in the groan it elicits from him. His grip on your hips tightens slightly, and he begins to guide your motions, pressing you down against his thigh in a way that makes you moan. It's a small, soft sound, but it still makes him smile. “Atta girl, that’s it.” He huffs approvingly. You keep going, feeling yourself almost get lost in the rhythmic movement before you come back to your senses.
Your hands move to the collar of his shirt, slowly beginning to undo the buttons, revealing his toned chest. You only get about halfway down before his hands are gripping your wrists, and your protest dies on your lips when he leans up and kisses you.
He tastes like cigar smoke and whiskey, a blend that should be uncomfortable but is somehow pleasant. His tongue slips into your mouth, tangling with yours as he pulls you closer. By the time he finally pulls away for air, you're dizzy, flushed.
A kiss- almost as personal as a name.
You've never met a man who could make you feel like this- and certainly not without getting all your clothes off first.
His words snap you out of your breathless haze. "Let me touch you, baby." His voice is both a plea and a demand, and who are you to deny him such a request?
A simple nod is all it takes before his hands are on you, roving over your breasts with an appreciative groan. You can't help the way your hips rock against him, and one of his hands goes down to your ass, encouraging you to grind against him again. His other hand rolls your nipple between his thumb and index finger, while his mouth leaves sloppy kisses along your neck, down to your breasts.
You bury your face in his neck, breathing him in. His head comes up from your chest to whisper in your ear as he keeps your hips moving back and forth, his other hand alternating between your breasts. His skin muffles your moans, but you know he won't let you hide those pretty sounds from him forever. "You're so perfect." His words don't exactly do you any favors in the 'keeping your composure' department. "Sweet, pretty thing like you..." He nips at your earlobe, making you gasp softly. "You got no idea what you do to me."
Those words snap you back a little, remind you of your promise to take care of him. You raise your head up, leaning back a little to meet his eyes. "Then show me." Your hands reach down towards his belt, and this time, he doesn't stop you. Instead, his gaze roams over you as you unbuckle it, slowly pull it out of the loops of his pants, toss it aside, letting it join the other discarded articles littering the floor. You undo the buttons, then pull his pants down.
Even through his boxers, you can clearly see the outline of his aching hardness. You gently take him in your palm, running your hand along him through the fabric, watching the way his eyes flutter. Then you adjust yourself so you're grinding on him again, thin layers of clothing the only thing separating the two of you.
You go on like that for a little while, keeping track of every little sound he makes, every hitch of his breath and shudder that goes through his body. Then you lean back, pulling his boxers down, freeing his cock from the confines of his clothing.
Immediately, your mouth waters. He's huge, the biggest you've ever seen, and you find yourself wondering if you even can take him.
You push that thought aside for now, swiping your thumb across his tip, smiling to yourself at the groan that leaves him. You repeat the motion, letting precum gather on your fingers as you begin to move your hand up and down, up and down. You start slow, stroking him gently, then gradually increase your pace. Midway through, you grab a condom with your other hand, keeping eye contact as you open the wrapper with your teeth. You roll it onto him in one smooth motion, earning a startled grunt. His head falls back, his breaths coming unevenly, and it takes him a while before he can manage a coherent sentence.
"Fuck, you treat every guy like this?" Even with all the energy he can muster, the words are still a little short.
Your smile widens, and you lean in to press a kiss against the vein of his throat. "Only the good ones."
His mouth opens, as if to argue with the notion that he's anything good, but your ever-faster movements silence any protests that could have come from him.
You can tell he's getting close, and you slow down, letting him breathe a little slower as you whisper a soft question. "Where do you want me? You want my mouth, you want-"
Your words are cut off by his hand cupping your clothed mound, a gasp escaping you. "I want this." His voice is rough, and this time, it's not a plea. He leans in, his breath hot against your ear as you unconsciously begin to move against his hand, chasing any friction he can give you. "I think it's a little unfair, seeing how I'm all out in the open and you've still got these," His thumb hooks in the waistband of your panties. "Separating me from you, hmm?
You don't even answer, just raise your hips up slightly so he can tug your lingerie down your legs until it falls and hits the floor. Immediately, his gaze lands on your exposed cunt. "Jesus, you're soaked." He murmurs, running his fingers through your slick. You whine as he brushes against your clit, and he chuckles. "Need me that bad, huh?"
"Need you." You whine. You can tell he wants to take it slow, to tease you, and by god do you want to let him- but you're impatient, your own teasing having riled you up too much to do anything but fuck him. Luckily, he picks up on your silent request, raising your hips to hover above his cock. His gaze searches yours, waiting for permission, and you nod. "Fuck me." You say softly, and it takes everything in him not to come completely fucking undone at that sweet tone of voice.
Slowly, painfully slowly, he lowers you down onto him. It burns, in a delicious way you've come to love in your years here. Even with the sheer amount of wetness coming from you, it's still a struggle to make him fit- but he does. When you've finally sank all the way down onto his cock, he lets you breathe for a moment. "You can take it, baby." He murmurs reassuringly- a support and a chance for you to back out. You close your eyes, breathing in and out, resting your face in the crook of his neck again.
Then you start to move.
It takes him by surprise, and you like the grunt that comes from him. For someone of his age, you're sure not much can catch him off guard anymore, so that makes it all the better when you lean back to see the look on his face. He catches your small smirk and returns it with one of his own, letting you move yourself up and down, over and over. Your pace slowly increases as the two of you adjust, and the room is soon filled with soft noises and the sound of flesh against flesh.
It's slow, almost sensual, but despite the circumstances that should have you turning this in another direction, you like it. You feel that familiar coil building in your stomach, your soft whimpers turning to moans now.
"You gonna come for me, baby?"
All you can do is nod, and he rocks his hips up into yours. The way he fills you up is mind-numbing, until you can't think of anything else but him and how fucking good he's making you feel, how badly you need to come undone on his cock.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck-" Your voice takes on a sharp pitch as he thrusts up into you, and your vision goes white for a moment as your orgasm hits you, unending bliss shaking your whole body. He rides out your orgasm for as long as he can, but the tight feeling of your cunt clenching around him soon sends him over the edge too. You can feel him twitching inside you, only prolonging the aftershocks of your own pleasure.
Eventually, you both come down. You're breathing heavily, trying to scramble together any semblance of thought. He stands suddenly, picking you up like you weigh nothing and setting you down on the chair. His cock slips out of you at some point during the process, leaving you feeling empty. You sit there for a moment before opening your eyes, finding him pulling his pants up and buckling his belt. He meets your gaze with a hint of a fond smile, bending over to grab his tie.
You stand up to retrieve your own clothes, pulling them back on while he shoves his arms through the sleeves of his blazer and rifles through his pockets, eventually pulling out his wallet. "Um, how much do I owe you?"
He looks almost embarrassed, and you find it kind of adorable. You flash him a smile, saying words you never thought you'd dare to let pass your lips. "Nothing. It's on me."
Immediately, his eyebrow shoots up. "No, I can't... I can't let you do that, pretty girl."
You shake your head. "I insist. Nobody's ever fucked me like that, and certainly not any of my clients." You see the way your words boost his ego- good. He deserves it. "Besides, if you hadn't showed up, I'd have gone home anyway." You say nonchalantly, taking a few steps over to him. You reach up and put a finger to his lips before he can continue to argue. "It's on the house."
Although he still looks conflicted, he reluctantly nods. "Okay. Next time, then."
Next time.
You feel a thrill run through your body as he brings up the prospect of a next time, and your smile widens. "Next time." You affirm. You step back, letting him be on his way.
He moves towards the curtain, pausing before he goes. "See you around, sweetheart."
And just like that, he's gone.
But you don't miss him- because you know he'll be back.
So when you finally make it home and climb into bed after that warm shower, there's still a fond smile on your face as you drift off to sleep, dreaming of the weary stranger and his wonderful words.

I personally think when it comes to AUs we need more bitch Gale. Like him being so repressed and deprived and so far in the closet and in denial about it that when he first meets John and has such an instant attraction to him that it both terrifies and angers him and so he brings it all out on poor John and is just an absolute CUNT to him for no apparent reason to anyone on the outside. But John being John LIKES it and just eggs it on and asks for more.
Like I’m imagining they first meet at a coffee shop or something (modern day) and the instant John first lays eyes on Gale he just knows he has to have him, WILL have him, is just thinking “MINE. HAVE TO MAKE HIM MINE.” And when he realizes that it’s going to be a near impossible task, it only makes him that more determined and dedicated and makes it all even hotter, makes Gale even more desirable to him. John’s always loved a challenge, and boy is Gale one.
I’m imagining John just walks up to him and starts flirting obnoxiously right off the bat, using all the cheesiest most cliche lines imaginable like taps him on the shoulder where he’s in line for his coffee and Gale turns around and John goes, “Did it hurt?” and Gale just looks at him confused with his brows furrowed and goes “Huh?” And John has the stupidest smile on his face when he answers “When you fell down from Heaven” and Gale doesn’t think he’s ever rolled his eyes so hard but he also can’t help himself from blushing and also why wasn’t that a huge turnoff for him and instead it has butterflies fluttering and heat pulsing deep in his belly?
Gale has been hit on by men before of course, but he’s managed to avoid it for the most part and when it does happen it’s usually by much older creepy middle aged men that just make him feel super uncomfortable, nothing like how he’s feeling right now with John.
“Does that usually work for you? You usually get laid with that line?” He asks John in an unimpressed tone. “I don’t know, I’ve never tried to before. Is it working?” John replies, still with that stupid ass smirk on his face. Gale wants to either smack it off or kiss it off, he can’t decide which. Gale scoffs in response and says “In your fucking dreams.” “Oh in my dreams we’re far past this stage already, sweetheart. We’re definitely not talking much, or standing, that’s for sure.” Gale makes an exaggerated gagging noise in his throat, trying to cover up how his flush has gotten even redder. “Gross. You’re a pervert.” “Only for you, baby.”
And it just keeps going but Gale can’t seem to make himself walk away or actually tell John to get lost. And maybe John buys him his coffee despite his protests and then says he can pay him back by sitting with him as he drinks it, and Gale pretends to be annoyed about it and like it’s a huge chore to be asked to do so. And as they sit together John is even more obnoxious, nauseatingly flirting and hitting on Gale and Gale has no idea how to handle him but he doesn’t let it show, he’s a stone cold bitch on the outside or as much as he can make himself be.
He doesn’t want John to think he’s enjoying this too much so after John makes a sexual innuendo about Gale’s mouth and lips he snaps something like “There’s no way your cock is as big as you clearly think it is with the way you’re talking” and John is taken aback for a second because he didn’t realize this man with the face of an angel could have so much bite in him but he quickly recovers and gets a huge smile on his face because oh boy, he’s gonna be a handful and so much fun. “Jesus Christ, the mouth on you, baby. What other surprises are you hiding, huh?” And Gale bites back again, actually getting angry now because why does John find this all so funny and cute? “I’m never gonna let you fuck me. You’re NEVER gonna fuck me. Understand?” And John is like “Is that what you think I’m trying to do?” And Gale sits back and crosses his arms across his chest, scoffs and rolls his eyes and looks away from John. “Clearly.” And then turns back to look at John with venom piercing in his eyes, and John realizes that he’s actually angry. VERY angry. “And it’s never. gonna. fucking. happen.” And John just laughs and says “We’ll see about that, sweet cheeks.” Which just has Gale fuming even harder. Now he’s red in the face from anger as well as embarrassment and arousal.
And then somehow they keep running into each other (John probably has his schedule memorized at some point) or John is able to get Gale’s name and number and refuses to give up and keeps pursuing him despite Gale being nothing but cold and mean to him. Except when he’s not. And John knows, KNOWS he wants it just as badly. But John loves the challenge, the game, the push and pull, the hot and cold, the mixed signals, the teasing, the chase of it all, gets off on it, and secretly (or not as secretly as he thinks) so does Gale.
And of course somehow it ends up with them months later with John fucking Gale silly, making him come and cry on his cock (and Gale will deny that ever happened). The first time they fuck Gale still refuses to admit he wants it, still calling John a pervert, an idiot, etc. between moans and claiming his cock is definitely not big enough to even feel inside of him while he’s stuffed full to the brim and his voice is shaking and breathy with it.
First paragraph in and I'm already hooked 🤣 Let 👏 Gale 👏 Be 👏 a 👏 Bitch 👏 2025 👏 But also just the thought of him being so repressed that the intensity of his attraction makes him decide to hate John on sight is 😘 And OF COURSE John likes it, he pushes harder and harder because he wants Gale to be even cuntier 🙌
But also, the added layer of John being instantly in love but falling even harder because he knows he's gonna have to work for it 😍 Gale being confusedly attracted to John's bull shit is everything, I think it would make him lean into "must be mean and push him away so he can't hurt me" vibe even harder because not only does he not want to be attracted to a man but he sure as hell doesn't want to be attracted to one with pickup lines like THAT lol
John’s persistence would both annoy but endear Gale and I think that would make him even more mad… I just love it 🥰 I love the coffee shop meet ugly but this would also work so so so well with them being roommates in basic, the forced proximity and interacting just ahhh❤️
And of course it ends in sex where they're still trying to talk shit but it just gets them off even harder, they're soulmates like that 😉🤣

Happy birfday itty bitty kitty 😘 I want to take this opportunity to ask – who is your favourite COD pookie? I have a feeling it's Price, something about a hairy older man... but it could also be Nikolai in that case 🧐
Bro I love hairy older men. Every time I’ve been in a fandom and they’ve taken a fat hair older man and they’ve drawn him young, baby smooth, and with abs? That’s like my personal 9/11. I need a geriatric babygirl.
Anyways my overall favorite is probably Nik, but they all fill these little holes in my fucking Swiss cheese of a psyche. Price is the guy with a breeding kink that’s obsessed with me. Soap is the ultra nasty guy that’s obsessed with me. Ghost is the guy who fucking hates himself that’s obsessed with me. König is the clingy and pathetic guy that’s obsessed with me.
And Rudy is growing on me quite a lot rn tbh. I’m like a little vulnerable raspberry in a plastic carton that someone rinsed but didn’t dry before putting it in the fridge. And he’s the mold. Like haha I’m sooo moist and hospitable to your growth don’t spread all over me within 24-48 hours nooooo haha. who said that.

2025 wips
thank you for the tag @anincompletelist <3
i am a perpetual too-many-wips disaster so i'm always grateful for an opportunity to lay out what i'm working on.
malex pretty woman au (roswell new mexico)
my next big project is the malex pretty woman au. alex is the rich, detached businessman, michael is captivating in tiny blue shorts and thigh high boots. do you see the vision? i need to make a banner and pick a title!
(i make ONE comment to @bigassbowlingballhead about craving a certain type of fic and suddenly i'm being enabled into my next longfic 🙃). i am genuinely so excited about this one. i've got about 5k written and the whole fic is plotted. i'm thinking this will be in the 25-30k range? maybe? honestly jon is better at estimating my word counts than i am so who knows. still not sure if i'll finish writing this one and then edit and post chapter by chapter or what i'll do, but i think i'll be able to get this one up this year.
firstprince exes (rwrb)
if i have another big project in me i would LOVE to finish my outsider pov firstprince exes fic. i love love love this weird little fic but it is a real challenge to write.
sequels & additional chapters
part 3 of conformation (rnm) will be just alex and michael after their fun with maria at the club. maybe alex will make good on his idea of tying michael up and seeing how much he can take. i could write millions of words of sub!michael please do not tempt me.
chapter 3 of after hours (first prince/rwrb) aka mechanic alex will be alex and henry's first date.
one shots
come back inside is a malexa morning after the airstream scene fic...what if michael convinced alex to stay? this is probably more than half written. malexa my beloved 😍
hunting guide au (tknp, men's hockey rpf). tk hires pat for a guided hunt with his young daughter.
these might not happen 😐
shadow is a buddie fic that was gonna be a big bang fic (which will never happen) but i *could* finish and post the first few chapters as a one shot. featuring baby eddie having his mind blown by a slightly older, extremely gay buck at a college party while visiting his sister.
i wanna be adored is an elliott/marco, marco gets dropped into crystal valley fic that i've written about 5k for but can't quite get to do what i want. when i started writing it there were no kissingchambers fics, but there are lots now! so if you like them you should probably just read those bc this bad boy probably won't see the light of day even though i've got about 5k written.
dumotanger omegaverse college au (men's hockey rpf) - y'know i really love this one and i am unhinged about dumotanger but i think there's just something missing here that i haven't been able to figure out. i'd love to finish it if i do though! i've got maybe 3k written.
okay those are the ones with something significant written. i have LOTS of other abandoned wips and ideas, plus i always like to do some kind of short prompt series. i haven't done femslash february in a while so maybe i could write a few ficlets for that? maybe do some shuffle prompts again? hmmm. we'll see, we'll see.
my askbox and dms are always open for questions about my fic, wips, ideas, etc. <3
open tag for anyone with wips they wanna share!!!

🎵I NEED A HERO🎵
🎶IM HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO ‘TIL THE END OF THE NIGHT🎶
Aw yeah character time baby and for the newest member of the ask and like always
Let me break it down for you chat:
Of course he still has his iconic outfit (he “thrifted” them and by thrift he stole it off of some dead bodies)
But I leaned into him being more machine then man…
He’s extremely intelligent, he rivals even the brightest minds in the under realm
For decades he’s been researching and studying all the anomaly that come from the under realm and how it bleeds into the main realms
He lives where the two realities are the most volatile (portals and gateways are more prevalent)
Hero’s memories are practically gone
The only thing he remembers is “waking up” Standing in a grass field staring at the moon covered in blood and a labcoat on fire.
He was also missing his right arm…luckily he was able to build a new one
As for what he does:
He is essentially malicious spyware, able to hack into any database or device to gain information about the user
He uses the information as blackmail or to put targets on people’s backs
He gets his reputation for becoming a legend in Minecraft for spying on unsuspecting people for nothing more then curiosity
He built a chip implant for Techies (Media/Online creeps) so they are able to obtain a physical body to interact with the outside world called an H-Chip
He’s one of a few people who are researching the world they live in and how it works
Fun fact time!
Due to the tension in Hero’s face, his mouth never properly closes for long periods time leading him to drool constantly (hence why he’s always smiling or has his mouth wide open)
His weapon is a large pickaxe that is packed to the brim with enough energy to knock out entire cities energy. It’s also heavy as shit, he’s the only person he knows that can hold it properly
Oh no!
Two old men with memory issues and lost their humanity in some way…I hope one of them doesn’t gets too attached…
This is certainly the ship of all time-
Ignoring that.
But that’s all for today I got more stuff coming out soon!
Until then!
Host out!!
#creepypasta#crp#art#herobrine#herobrine minecraft#hero#yes really#thank you for humoring me#i feel free#cringe and free#I do actually enjoy drawing him#their is something about older men that I love#kicking my feet as I draw this

⋆ woman of my dreams, don't betray me.
wife!ambessa x wife!reader. men & minors dni.
synopsis: you and ambessa are wives, and your parents have come to visit the two of you. everything will be fine, or would've been if you mother hadn't brought up her desire for grandchildren.
cw: angst, angst with a happy ending, wife!ambessa, wife!reader, age difference, older woman/younger woman, sfw but suggestive content, emotional hurt/comfort, you're a little bit of a crybaby, anxiety attacks, discussions of children and pregnancy.
notes: i hate this so much, but ce la vie hmm? this is a drabble.
“Sweet girl, don't bite your nails. You'll be so upset later.”
“You'll just give me the money to get them done,” you mutter.
Still, your hands lower from your mouth to tremble yet again over the dinner you've painstakingly made.
Ambessa moves behind you, her presence steady and warm against your back. Her hands settle on your shoulders, thumbs working small circles into the knots that have been building there all day. You lean into her touch despite yourself, despite the anxiety that makes you want to vibrate out of your skin.
“Will this occur before or after you protest against me giving you too much?”
A laugh slips out of you before you can stop it, and you turn to slide your arms around her neck. You take in the strong line of her jaw, the crooked set of her lips with it’s thin stripe of golden jewlery in the middle. You thumb at it, face flushing slightly as she nips at the tip of your finger.
“My nails have yet to cost five hundred dollars, Bessa.”
“I include the tip.”
“I must be incredibly generous.”
“You are,” she hums, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Besides, you never think of tax.”
“Tax?” You say in disbelief. “What tax would they be adding that costs that much? Honestly, Bessa.”
“You never know,” she says with a slow smile. “They could swindle you very easily. You have such a trusting nature.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you tell her, cupping her face.
"Talk to me," she says, and her voice carries that gentle authority that first drew you to her. You turn away, your attempts at misleading her thwarted. "Is it your mother again?”
You stiffen under her hands. "Among other things." The roast in front of you blurs slightly.
You can picture her expression without turning around - that careful neutrality she wears when she's processing something that angers her. It's the same look she gets in meetings when someone has said something particularly stupid.
"And what did you say to her?"
"Nothing. I deleted it. I’ve never been any good at convincing her to leave me alone." You pull away from her hands to adjust a perfectly arranged plate for the third time. "It's easier than explaining. Than having the same argument over and over about how I'll change my mind, how I just haven't met the right person yet." You pause, throat tight. "As if you're not..."
"As if I'm not what?" There's an edge to her voice now, not angry but intent. When you don't answer, she gently turns you to face her. "Look at me, little dove."
You do, though it hurts. She's beautiful in the warm kitchen light, silver hair gleaming, dark eyes fixed on yours with an intensity that still makes your heart skip even after all this time. You see the question in them and can't bear to answer it.
"The table still needs-"
"The table is perfect. You're being avoidant."
A laugh bubbles up, slightly hysterical. "Isn't that what I do best?"
"No." Her hand cups your cheek. You can smell her: blonde wood, vetiver, pink pepper, dry vanilla. "What you do best is love fiercely and completely. And we agreed that that meant being honest with one another.”
She titls your head up, presses a thumb against your pulse. The action makes you almost confess the words that crowd your throat, threatening to spill out:
I'm terrified you'll realize I can't give you the family you deserve. That one day you'll look at me and see all the things I'm not, all the things I can't be. That you'll regret choosing someone so much younger, so much less certain of their place in the world. That my mother is right and I'm being selfish, denying you something fundamental.
But before you can voice any of it, the doorbell rings. Your whole body goes rigid. Your hands come to your sides and you’re back to shaking, neck burning with sudden stress.
“I’ll get the door,” you say.
Your voice is rasping, as if you’ve swallowed down endless snakes of smoke.
‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅
Dinner is excruciating. Your mother talks about your cousin's new baby, about how wonderful motherhood looks on her, about how she's "simply glowing." You push food around your plate and feel Ambessa's concerned glances, even as she masterfully deflects conversation toward politics, toward her work, toward anything else.
But with each deflection, you can feel her growing more tense beside you - the way she sets her wine glass down with just a fraction more force, how her knife scrapes against the china with military precision.
"But really," your mother says, wine glass tilting dangerously in her hand, "I just don't understand why you two haven't started trying yet. Ambessa, dear, you must want more children? And you're not getting any younger-"
The fork clatters from your hand. "Mother."
You can feel your body pulsing with that sick warmth that comes with the rush of tears. You’re boring a hole through the dining room table with your gaze, eyes growing large and wet. If you were a lamb, you’d be bleating except your mother is the wolf so who will be the one to save you?
Beside you, Ambessa goes perfectly, terrifyingly still. The kind of stillness that precedes a storm, that makes the hair on the back of your neck rise. You can see her hand flat against the table, the metal of her rings catching the light, and you know without looking that her face has taken on that marble-smooth expression that makes junior officers quake in their boots.
"I'm only giving you something to think about, my love. I’ve been you before. You think you have so much time, you know? It’s just—you've always been so good with kids, sweetheart. Remember how you used to babysit for the Hendersons? And Ambessa's children turned out so well-"
"Stop." Your voice comes out strangled. "Please."
Ambessa's hand sneaks under the table to grasp your thigh. The touch is slightly grounding but you can feel the tremor in her fingers - not from fear, but from restraint. You know she wants you to look at her, but then you'll really begin to lose it.
You'll spill over, right into her lap, because she always could unlatch your body in ways you thought were only for other people.
You catch the slight movement of her jaw, the way she swallows whatever cutting remark she wants to make. Because this is your mother, and Ambessa—for all her power, all her authority, because of the love—is letting you handle this your way. But the tension in her body screams of fury, of a woman forced to watch her beloved take wounds she can't deflect.
"I don't see why you're being so sensitive about this. It's a natural progression-"
"Natural?" You're standing now, though you don't remember deciding to. "Natural is me not wanting to vomit every time someone mentions me being pregnant. Natural is not having a panic attack every time you send me another fertility clinic link or baby clothes or-" Your voice breaks. "I can't. I can't do this."
You flee, ignoring your mother's startled "Well!" and your father's awkward attempt to change the subject. You're halfway up the stairs before the tears start properly, and by the time you reach your bedroom, you can barely see. The door locks behind you with a satisfying click.
You stumble to the vanity, clutch blindingly at your hair to yank out the pins. You feel out of control, your hands sliding up your neck and over your face.
A sob slips out despite you clutching your fingers over your mouth, and you press at your stomach until you feel the urge to dispel the mixture of your decayed dinner and acid that sits within it.
The bed. You need to be under the bed. It's childish and ridiculous but it's where you used to hide when things got too much, and right now everything is too much. You curl up in the darkness there, pressed against the wall, and try to remember how to breathe.
Time passes. You hear murmured voices downstairs, the front door opening and closing. Footsteps on the stairs - Ambessa's, you'd know them anywhere.
"Little dove?" A gentle knock. "Let me in?"
"It's unlocked," you manage, voice thick.
The door opens. A pause.
"Are you under the bed?"
"...yeah."
Another pause. Then, to your utter astonishment, you hear grunting and turn to find Ambessa - your tall, dignified, warrior-queen wife - attempting to squeeze herself under the bed frame.
"What are you doing?" you ask, hiccuping between tears and startled laughter.
"Coming to get you," she says, voice strained as she wriggles forward. "Though I'm beginning to think this bed was not built for someone of my size."
"You're going to get stuck."
"Then we'll be stuck together." She finally manages to get next to you, though she has to lie completely flat to fit. "Hello, sweet girl."
A rush of gratitude floods you and you press forward, drawing her into a soft kiss. She deepens it, sliding a large hand underneath your thigh and holding you to her. You part with a soft, slick noise.
“You’re always meeting me where I am, even when you don’t understand,” you tell her. “Literally.”
You gesture weakly at the whole predicament. The absurdity of it - Ambessa Medarda, covered in dust bunnies, cramped under a bed - breaks something in you.
"I have this terrible secret inside me, and it’s that I feel so—so sick when I think about being a mother," you blurt out. The words slide out of you, like maggots from a rotting body. "Not—not your children, I love them, but being one myself. Having them. I can't. I won't. And I know you must want- but I can't, I just can't, please don't leave me.” You begin to sob again. “Please, Bessa. Please don’t leave me. Please. Plea-”
"Shh." She pulls you closer, awkward in the confined space but no less tender for it. You tuck your head into her neck as she soothes you. "Shh, my love. I'm not going anywhere."
"But-"
"I have two children," she says firmly. "Two wonderful, grown children who I love dearly. I have never once thought about having more. What I want - all I want - is you. Happy. Whole. Exactly as you are."
You're crying again, but differently now. "Really?"
"Really." She strokes your hair, rocking you as best she can in the tight space. "Though I would very much like to have this conversation somewhere with fewer dust bunnies."
You laugh wetly into her shirt. "Sorry."
"Don't be. I would crawl under a thousand beds for you. Even into a grave." She kisses your forehead. "But perhaps we could move on top of this one? My back is not what it used to be."
"You’re really not getting any younger," you quip, the onslaught of relief making you giddy.
"Watch it, little dove." But she's smiling - you can hear it in her voice. "Now come out before we really do get stuck."
“What if we stayed here forever,” you whisper, “and you never let me go?”
She releases you, then shimmies out from the crawl space. Gently, she curls a hand around your ankle and pulls you out with a sharp yank. You gasp as you emerge from your hiding space, hair spilling around you and your dress rucked up just enough to display your panties.
Ambessa leans over, drags the dress further up until she can kiss the swell of your breasts. She looks up you, face ever-calculating.
“I will never release you,” she finally says.
It should scare you, the clear promise, but it doesn’t. You lead her hand to your throat, just to hold it there, and smile instead.

Because he's the Tumblr sexyman du jour, and because sometimes queer history seems very far away, I'd like to make a quick point about Benoit Blanc. Let's assume that he's approximately the same age as Daniel Craig. DC, and therefore BB, were born in 1968, which means they were 20 in 1988, which means Benoit Blanc was coming of age as a gay man at the absolute height of the AIDS Epidemic.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk or whatever.
#Benoit is absolutely the most deserving Tumblr sexyman to date#This is just something I'm always thinking about whenever I encounter older queer men#I've said it before and I'll say it again but I would pay a lot for a bootleg of Daniel Craig in Angels in America#This is one of the first times I've seen Tumblr excited about a cabin gay over 50?#I bet Benoit loves Heartstopper#benoit blanc#Glass onion#Knives out#post o' mine

i am enjoying this show but i do think it's a good case study in how... not to worldbuild jlskdfklj.
i know it's not trying to be that deep, so it really is fine, but it's been kinda interesting to me picking up on things i don't think makes sense with the hidden connective tissue for what each society is supposed to be like and how they have developed from the present?
like everyone in most cultures thinks girls are fine and equal to men (ex. the moclan baby situation) and even if it's through an alien acceptance lens they're fine with gays (bortus and klyden) and even maybe chill with trans stuff ("ur kid can decide when she's old enough" in theory) etc.
but there are also so many jokes that stem from inequality that you wouldn't really think about unless you really considered it, like the Standard Straight Marriage Jokes you get with ed and kelly dependent on marital gender roles or alara having trouble with boyfriends who don't want a gf who's stronger than them (even though maybe the issue is her just being scary strong generally, it does come off like her super strength was almost created for the sake of "haha strong woman you would not expect it from" and to then make jokes that would hit with a modern non-introspective audience) etc.
if society has developed and done the work to actually get to a place of equality in these areas then those jokes and casual attitudes would be much less likely, and it makes sense to me that the guy behind family guy would not understand that or care because he is trying to appeal to a very standard modern audience the only way he knows how (uncreative jokes stuck in an outdated status quo).
#TO tag#not a ton of examples bc i honestly just roll my eyes and let the joke go in one ear out the other but i think the vibes come across#PARTICULARLY with ed and kelly#and honestly there is almost something meta funny about watching these people in the future talk like they're from 2012#but when it is the whole show it means it is not supposed to be funny on that level but within itself#i think i just wish i could get space sitcom without... the 2000s sitcom jokes yknow?#i am grateful it's not as bad as i expected in those attitudes and i am also still enjoying the ability to just get a lighter scifi vibe#bc as much as i love hard serious scifi it does get exhausting sometimes#i just think i need to go back to my w359 relisten#ignoring that i think i left off somewhere at the point they did start getting big serious haha#or mourn inside job again#HONESTLY THOUGH i think i have been lucky that a lot of my favorite scifi has had typically mindful people behind it#or it took place in a time where it made sense and still kept itself at bay (thank u amanda tapping for self advocating <3)#so im sure honestly there is older serious scifi that still does the 'women amirite' bs esp Big Military Propaganda For Men ones#but for something more recent i would still expect a lower level#of it ingrained in advanced human society

Everything Steve Grant Rogers knew about love was heartbreak and loss.
First it was Molly from second grade, Susan from his english class in seventh grade followed her, after that it was Michael and Jonathan from his figure drawing class.
Of course not all of them were of romantic love.
When he was told of his fathers death, that broke him a little too, It was more manageable because it happened before he was born.
And then… his mother took her last breath alone in an hospital bed, and that was the worst pain he could endure in his life, or that was he thought at the time anyway.
No.
The worst pain of his life was losing Bucky and keep losing him every damn time, no matter what he did and no matter the circumstances.
First it was losing him in the arms of pretty dames with soft voices and softer lips, then to the war when he was finally drafted.
When he knew of his status as missing, of course he got to him without a second thought of doing stupid things like wasting time for backup or approval.
It was imperative the speed of his rescue mission, Buckys life was on the line and Steve wouldn’t sacrifice him for stupid and unnecessary rules.
Without Bucky there is no Steve Rogers after all, not a sane one anyway.
The train incident made him break completely at last and he couldn’t take it anymore.
They didn’t even let him go looking for Bucky.
How dare they?
At least that way he could’ve gotten a little bit of closure, but no.
The missions were more important of course.
Of course….
When the opportunity of sinking the Valkyrie was presented to him on a silver platter, he just took it without hesitation.
At last, he could be reunited with Bucky and the endless cycle of heartbreak could end.
.
.
.
Of course that wasn’t what happened, of course that couldn’t be his end.
