I really feel tremendous grief for friendships that kind of petered away in the face of life's currents. There are people with whom I formed deep, unique, vibrant, life-changing connections, and then we had to go our separate ways and it was too hard to maintain long-distance. There wasn't a fight, it just sort of faded. And I feel like I have more friendships like this than friendships that have endured, so maybe I just have to get used to it. But if grief is all the love we have left over - well, I never did get to finish loving them. I love them, and I miss them, and I probably always will.

”Aang is the one who reminds Katara to be a kid” PUT SOME RESPECT ON TOPH’S NAME!!! Toph brings out Katara’s inner child, not the sunshine rainbow flower crown inner child, but her internal gremlin. Her pettiness and violence and self-centered mischief. Aang is a ride-or-die friend sometimes, but when they’re together, Katara’s priorities are always 1) the state of the world and 2) Aang himself. Like she can be playful but she’s never really distracted from her sense of responsibility.

With Toph, Katara prioritizes much more childlike things, like having the last word in an argument, and whether her friends think she’s cool, and laughing in a day spa, and petty revenge. Only Toph can drag Katara down to her level of immaturity and I think that’s beautiful

Something that I absolutely love about Edwin is how deeply he values friendship.

The Cat King asks Edwin if he and Charles have a "special friendship." Edwin earnestly says "we are best friends, if you must know." That is, to him, incredibly special. That is a special friendship.

Despite obviously having a little fluttery crush on Monty, Edwin happily tells Niko that "they are new friends" when she asks if he wants to kiss him. Yeah, some of this could be him trying to save face - but his little smile shows that this is important. They are friends.

Edwin watches Scooby-Doo with Niko and compliments how clever the Scooby gang is. He is obviously more clever. He is expressing interest in something his new bestie likes because he wants to connect with her.

Then, he sits beside her in silent support while she writes to her mother.

When Monty betrays him, the FIRST thing Edwin is deeply hurt about is that Monty was "just pretending to be [his] friend." It's only after that that he addresses romantic feelings.

This is almost certainly a direct result of his decades-long friendship with Charles and the way that they clearly consider themselves partners even when platonic. I love it.
