oh yeah, I just realized I never shared the 'funeral program' that I spent like two days making for the discord voice chat / stage funeral that we hosted with ULO pals the night of the comic's finale

and yes, i made it look like those loreolympians posts on purpose because (no hate to them) they're always reaching so far to try and make LO seem deep and intentional in its writing that isn't there, so in this case we're reaching real far to make LO's departure seem like a genuinely loss worthy of a whole ass funeral service LOL

god i hate this comic, i'm gonna miss it but i'm glad it's finally been put out of its misery LOL

#fuecoco #i gotta say i didn't really care for this thing at first. it was one of my least favorite starters right next to grookey when it was first #revealed. and normally i'm a big fan of fire starters. but this guy didn't do it for me #and this design still doesn't‚ but i do appreciate skeledirge. it's very cool‚ i love the fire hat and the día de los muertos design #it really feels like tpc have been going all out on making pokémon that Fit The Region since gen 8 #which is pretty cool. i like it. and i definitely think paldea has some very fun vibes. but i dunno if i'd say it's one of my favorite #regions pokémon-wise or layout-wise. it was their first shot at open world‚ and i think it shows #the older regions with more limitations definitely shone more because they worked better in those limitations #paldea just feels like a big open empty sandbox at times. which is fun to explore‚ but doesn't feel too civilized compared to something #like… unova. where there's a city on every fuckin route corner and they're all so full of life and personality #like i could not remember any of the paldea town themes for the life of me. i can remember their names for the most part #but that's basically just because the facilities that get used a lot are spread out between them. for example: i remember medali #specifically because it's where i go to change a pokémon's tera type. i remember mesagoza because it's the main hub city #i remember levincia because of the posters. i remember montenevera because i think the hyper training guy is there #but not because like. i remember driftveil because YAAAAAAAAAAAAA #y'know. even galar had a better region design than paldea #that's not to say i think paldea is BAD. like i'm not a scarlet/violet hater like every other pokémon “fan” on the internet #i've put like 200+ hours into that fuckin game. i still LIKE it. but my heart still holds a soft spot for kalos and the like

It occurred to me recently that almost all of my older Life Series art (think 3rd Life / Last Life) was more fantasy-leaning so I decided, for science, to try that more fantasy-leaning vibe for a Secret Life doodle. I also brought back the painterly leaning style because evidently I really like that for my more illustration based stuff. Also I used a different lineart brush which is an absolute vibe. AND I attempted a more color-based-storytelling-something-or-other which I've seen very well done recently especially in animation which I absolutely love. Basically I tried things with this one lol

Anyways. Random, very much spoiler free Secret Life doodle (it's literally not plot relevant at all it's just for the vibes lmao) of Gem and the Scotts that's less band inspired and more fantasy inspired and I'm kinda vibing with it. Enjoy :D

In the old kidnapping of Persephone myths,Zeus being able to just marry Persephone off to any man he pleased without needing anybody else's agreement made sense because he was her biological father at a time where something like that was well within a father's wheelhouse. Given that he isn't her dad in this retelling, the threat of him just being able to marry Persephone off to whomever he wants whenever he wants is very weird.

If anybody is gonna have the authority to force random marriages, shouldn't it be Hera????

Does Zeus also marry random mortals to each other by force?Imagine getting thrown into somebody's house at random by a higher power and he just goes "That's your husband now. Make it work" and the god's domain isn't even marriage.

happy three years to pmtok! it's been almost two whole years since i first got into it and my obsession with the goofy office supplies still shows no sign of stopping any time soon (i was gonna do another quick thing of harlow and coda after the olly and olivia one but alas i have work today so </3)

(i have. a silly mini essay under the cut just about how funny game impacted me personally that's all it is reading it is totally optional <3)

i think i did this last year too i genuinely cannot remember but i probably did but. once again i cannot stress how much of an impact this game managed to have on me (like. literally. speaking system stuff for a brief moment we have a few pmtok introjects that regularly front lmfao). i didn't get into the game until a few months after the first anniversary, and it was only after listening to some of juno song's lyrical covers of the los themes that i actually got invested enough to watch a playthrough (bc fun fact i did not actually own the game. still don't btw i just haven't gotten around to actually getting it now that i have my own money </3). one thing led me to another and then i ended up sketching the design for my scissors/saxen in the middle of my biology class lol

i've grown to genuinely enjoy writing my los and their lore, and seeing my art and character design improve and change since i first made them - and wanting to share them with people who were also fans of the game was what led me to actually try joining discord servers again for fandoms (i didn't do it or try to make friends in this fandom for several months bc i freshly experienced The Horrors in a previous fandom lol), which i'm glad i decided to do - almost all of the people i consider friends to this day are solely bc of that decision to join funny pmtok discord server despite the anxiety attack i was having at the thought of joining a whole fandom server again

so uh yeah! pmtok genuinely is a game that means a lot to me, despite having never gotten a chance to play it personally for myself lol. i genuinely don't think i would be the same person if i hadn't happened to listen to the juno song's cover of the handaconda boss theme bc i was fucking obsessed with that funny hand snake despite not having that much interest in paper mario prior lol
