Generally speaking Dale believes in whatever he thinks will make him money. He probably saw something online offering absurd amounts of money in exchange for proof of fairies and figured even if he couldn't find anything he could get chatGPT to write a book about his experience for him and make money anyway.
After he shot Dev he was going to call it quits altogether, too much headache when he can make profit so many other ways. At least until Flowers put him through an undeniably supernatural experience that is.

How did you get a career in fashion buying? That sounds so fun
i went back to school last last year and studied merchandising + marketing with an emphasis on buying and then got a buying internship and was hired full time afterwards :)
#tbh it sounds fun in theory and there are definitely fun aspects but it's a veryyy stressful career#most of the time you put in all this work and do your best but factors outside of your control like marketing makes it so that#your hard work yields no results and the pressure is still there especially if your company isn't meeting forecasted profits#though i think my experience was a bad one for many reasons and can say that all companies/brands are different!#i do think that the amount of pressure buyers have on their shoulders is insane given that at the end of the day it's just clothing

As funny as the "The fault lies with you, Ahab!!" memes are, I gotta say that Cathy probably took Ishmael's place in the Pequod Captain Fishmael Mirror world.
There's not much backing for this theory, but I think it makes the most sense, mostly once you see the CG with Queecliff in Canto VI's ending and with the... [ahem] Queequeg×Ishmael implications and the fact that Heathcliff×Cathy would be real if it weren't for their lack of communication. (< I would rant about these 2 but this is this and that's that.)

anyone know some fun activities to do with a 4 year old without leaving the house
#we're both going insane in here bc the weather isn't really allowing us to just walk outside#and we were gonna go to the movies but the car that was gonna take us broke down yesterday and is in a shop now#i love this kid like crazy but for heavens sake we need something to do other than stacking blocks and pushing cars on the floor#me especially like. he's not even fuzzy or angry but i am getting increasingly bored and he needs to be doing something at all times#so i can't just. sit down and read or watch stuff on tv or embroider#because i have to be giving him attention and company#which of course i'll keep doing bc i want him to have fun but like. i NEED time for me or at least to do something we'll both enjoy#i'm running out of ideas#(context i guess. my little brother and i have an enormous age gap#my parents asked me to care for him for a couple weeks bc they're swamped with work so now here we are#like they're under the impression i am excellent with kids which is not true#i'm not bad at taking care of children but i'm not like. ecstatic or passionate about it#like i wouldn't ever think of pursuing a profession that involved childcare#but i'm trying my best rn#anyways ideas for fun things to do inside are appreciated

i didnt realise how much i'd miss starlow til she was gone
#honestly my only problem with the game so far that isn't a nitpick is the characterisation of the npcs#it's not got the charm that the alphadream games had#snoutlet's doing nothing for me. connie and arc are not gonna stick in my brain i can already tell you that much#for all the shit i gave starlow for being unnecessarily mean to luigi. she was a fun character. i enjoyed having her around and her#interactions with bowser in bis were wonderful#and the general npcs were good. i enjoyed getting dialogue from em.#and i LOVED the side characters. peasley. queen bean. kylie koopa. dreambert. all solid supporting characters#so far i've just. not really felt like i'm gonna connect with any of these characters#willma and maykit are the best ones out of the bunch i do like them#but nowhere near on the same level as the characters in past m&l games#btw i'm still REALLY enjoying the game. everything else about it thus far has been really fun.#it's just a shame this new company couldn't deliver on that. it was one of my favourite elements of past m&l games#brothership spoilers

I'd rather be miserable but doing shit my own way than placid and glass eyed and just taking whatever companies tell me to
Like... literally just asking what I get out of writing a post on tumblr... zero suggestions, just letting me say whatever dumb stuff comes to my head
#the problem is that doing things my way is actually working well; it's just really slow and it's coming from a bad starting point#everything that makes me miserable was even more miserable growing up#you maybe see me and think that I'm doing really horribly; and that may be true; but I'm also truthfully at my peak right now#and frankly as much as I worry about it A LOT; I'm kinda still on the rise in a lot of ways#...I just take way too long to do things; I want to be quicker because a lot of this stuff isn't... it's not being slow and steady#it's being depressed and having trouble working on shit#but... when I do stuff my way the end result tends to be strong#I got a house in 2019 for instance... like in that economy; I feel like that counts as a pretty high roll outcome; you know?#the parts of my life I hate are all... it's like Marley in the Christmas Carol; I've got all these chains around me#and... about 80% of those chains are just my mom or my mom's choices... she blows through so much money all the time#it makes me want to die#but all that shit... it's the past haunting me and drowning me#but shit's better than it was and... I have more friends now that I did in the past; I'm closer to making money than I've been in the past#(part of it is that I kinda want to get shit stabilized in the household; be doing stuff like cooking before I try and sell shit)#(also understand that everyone in high school liked me... we just never saw each other outside of school)#(so it was a situation where I had 'friends'; by that standard everyone at school was a friend)#(but I didn't have a single person I was close with and I was totally isolated in a crowd)#(friend is just a word in english that has to cover a really really wide range of relationships)#(but these days I do have actual friends... just a shame none of us live in the same town... or even state; you know?)#(I like all the people I went to high school with; they all cared a lot and were very bad at it)#(couldn't figure out that like... just give me some company; that's a good 80% of what I'm lacking)#(...I think part of it was they were all stoners and I wasn't; so they felt like... eh... like something something)#(and when I say all stoners I mean... I think... easily 80% of the school; probably 90% and maybe higher were all stoners)#(it uh... was not an easy thing for the staff; cause they obviously all knew; but... figuring out how to best handle it)#(like hell; I wouldn't want to deal with that)#(also like 95% were smokers... you have to understand that most of these kids were rich kids)#(off the top of my head I can only think of 2 other kids who were poor... just... uh...)#(if I named the city the school was in; you'd probably be like 'oh... makes sense')#(I liked everyone there; everyone liked me... just... they were very bad at just basic stuff like spending time together)#(eh... you don't need to hear more)

Seen Limbus Company compared so often to DnD lately (ignoring the fact that there's no dice in this game) combined with general frustration at the coin flips and like--
You guys do know that's what the Sanity system is for, right? PM's not great at tutorials, but you have total control over the coin flips if you just maintain your sinners' sanity levels (and its why sanity caps at -45/45, as in your coin flips can range from 5% to 95% to land on Heads).
It's a lot like Ruina where half the gameplay was *rigging* the system; if you felt like you were constantly losing *only* because of RNG, the reality was you just didn't build strong enough decks or took unnecessary risks, blaming it on the game instead of yourself. Here in Limbus, if you're taking dangerous clashes too early, spamming EGOs or ignoring Sanity restoring passives, then the fault lies with you rather than the RNG.
Though if the DnD comparisons are solely towards the quirky group dynamics--well, glad you've found your first Project Moon game, welcome. Heartily recommend playing others as well, this is basically what good writing is like.

ah fuck it, i can't deny myself the love of the idea of layla ballet dancing in an au
#ama mumbles#layla (oc)#ignore what i said a long time ago about her being in the orchestra shes a dancer too#shes would definitely be a dancer whos more known for musicality and character than technicality#someone very fun to watch bc she will always bring in a lot of energy for whatever she is portraying#however she isn't very cut throat so she'd be in a smaller company and doing it more for the love of the dance than trying to be the best#someone always in the corp or a soloist and rarely if ever seen in a principle role#im in a ballet mood can you tell#she loves to dance just as much as she loves to play the violin so she could easily be in either position#i just love ballet dance too much to deny myself it#all that said the idea of her in a villianess role is very funny to me. i think she would have so much fun with it#but also would be great in very silly roles. she wouldn't be first pick for any tragic roles tho lol no odettes for her#also also agria being kitri and taylor giving layla cupid from the same show. and cupid is usually played by one of kitri's friends#in front of my cork board
