Norifumi Seki, a 23-year-old watchmaker graduate from Hizo Mizuno College of Jewelry in Tokyo, was the winner of the Young Talent Competition, promoted by F.P. Journe and The Hour Glass. 💥💥💥 Seki presented a pocket watch with a big spherical moon and a two-digit calendar with cylinders. The watch is 47 mm in diameter and made of golden brass. The moon made of titanium is 20 mm in diameter! . Cubic Clock by Nendo for THE HOUR GLASS,

The ‘cubic clock’ takes the form of a solid, brushed aluminium cube which has been tilted to stand on its vertex. 

Two angular, geometric hands have been seemingly sliced to protrude from the solid form and rotate to convey the time. Twice a day at midday and midnight the hands vertically align not only with each other, but with the cube itself – for but a moment, all indication of time disappears and the mind is offered a chance to reset.
