Summary: It’s been a long time since Claire Novak had parents. That’s just the way the world works; some kids grow up in a loving family, spoiled by mommy and daddy until their teeth rot out of their skulls, and some kids’ moms and dads get creatively murdered by feathery jackasses of the Lord. Nothing to see here - life goes on, and the world keeps slowly turning. Except for when Claire gets an unexpected visit from a stranger, and everything falls apart. - a study of Castiel and Claire, largely inspired by 15x15 Gimme Shelter.

My thoughts: Tearing up a little. Ah fuck. Claire really always goes through it. The fact that she and Jack never met in canon is a fucking crime and I really love how this meeting was engineered. And the way that Claire gets when she hears that Jack stole Baby lmao.

Wow this is a journey! Ok. We have similar starts, my first episode was also Bloody Mary i was 10 and I had nightmares. For years I just thought of spn as that scary show my babysitter watched. Then in 2012 at the age of 15 I had already been on tumblr for a while and obviously saw it all over the place so I decided to check it out, the rest is history.

Can’t believe you came back on thee ‘y yo a ti’ day!! HISTORIC. How did your boyfriend handle the confession? How did you make it so far with no spoilers?? Ahhhh I am obsessed with all these stories i wish i could sit and talk with all of you!!

oh boy yeah i had Iris on my destiel playlist over 10 years ago and the fact that the series got meta... oof that line ended up hitting so much harder...

but also *rubs hands gleefully* the GGD are my fave band so i am absolutely HERE for rec'ing more of their stuff!

fave albums are probs Dizzy Up the Girl and Gutterflower bc i love the darker 90's/early 00's sound of those, and they have so many really good singles besides just Slide and Iris

some faves:

Superstar Car Wash (1993):

- Cuz You're Gone, specifically the live version with the "A Thousand Words" bridge

- We Are the Normal, which i love listening to in the fall

A Boy Named Goo (1995):

- Naked, tho the version off their 2000 compilation album has an extended intro which i think adds to the song (also i feel like this is a Dean song)

- Name, which was their first big single

Dizzy Up the Boy (1998):

- this whole album is fantastic and was the one that got me into their stuff when i was in hs

- Black Balloon and Hate This Place are some of my faves after Slide and Iris

- Broadway is a Dean Song™, and honestly so is Acoustic #3, and the version of the 2000 compilation album with the string solo is !!!!!

Gutterflower (2002):

Here Is Gone, It's Over and What Do You Need? are very "angry break-up" vibes (and also very S6 songs)

Let Love In (2006):

- Stay With You, Let Love In and Better Days were the big singles, but gotta say my faves might be Can't Let It Go (which is actually on my GO Az/Crow playlist) and Listen

and then im gonna speedrun the next few albums and mention Home, Rebel Beat, Keep the Car Running (v destiel), Souls In the Machine (also TFW/destiel-able), Tattered Edge (more political w high energy), Indestructible (destiel) and Miracle Pill (oof Endverse!Cas feels), and also Johnny's two songs for Treasure Planet and his collab w Cash Cash for the EDM track Lightning

(fun fact: the song Two Days in February plays in 7x03 of SPN!)

im actually not the most familiar w Death Cab's discography, been listening to them more recently bc they're my gf's fave(?) band so i'll tag @thegirlwithmanynames to give rec's if she has a moment, but i can say that we've both discussed Title and Registration and A Lack of Color as being Dean songs haha (also she's the Dean-coded one to my Cas-coded ass)

asked her opinion and she'd say Transatlanticism and Plans are their best know albums with some very well known songs

some of my fave tracks are The New Year, Transatlanticism, Soul Meets Body, I Will Follow You Into the Dark (destiel) and Northern Lights

also, just bc you're getting into both GGD and DCfC (and like Hozier lmao), you might also enjoy Snow Patrol? both me and my gf got very into their music the past couple of years while also being in SPN Hell™ and im trying to make Snow Patrolnatural A Thing™ XD Eyes Open (2006) and A Hundred Million Suns (2008) are STACKED in terms of bangers (also the song Signal Fire they released in 2007 is probs one of my fave songs in general! and yeah. also destiel and i have unfinished Empty-rescue art based on it)

Thank you, honestly, just reaching out means so much.

We’re having the procedure done in our home, so he should feel calm and comfortable, and he’ll be surrounded by family. It will be hard to adjust to life without him, but nothing can take away the 13 years of memories we made with him.

okay so I've been thinking about LOTR lately & the mcu and while like they aren't any direct parallels but like some of the ideas and things?? IDK but like I just want a fic of the avengers + guardians + EVERYONE having a lotr movie marathon? 

but mostly I've been thinking about Thor & Loki and that’s what started this and like all of the things and anyway I am rambling but I was thinking about Boromir and Faramir and also Aragorn and Eomer and I’m not saying they are the same or anything but I feel like there are things that like they could find similarities or relate to??? 

I just like making parallels between my favorite things and also like my favorite characters in one thing loving or liking my other favorite things like shows/books/movies 

idk this might be silly but it’s where my brain is at???
