Have you ever wanted to run a globetrotting adventure in D&D, but weren't sure how to model exploration in game? You might want to look into the hexcrawl-- one of D&D's most elegant, and most overlooked, game mechanics.
I've started writing articles for TheGamer-- if you like my writing, my thoughts on tabletop, or D&D as a whole, come check this out!

I ended up getting a last minute appointment for a nuru massage this evening. He was a professional gamer. When I googled him, a photo of him at an event in Vegas popped up. This is all he does for a living.
He was sexy. Only a few years older than me. But of course, he had difficulty having an orgasm (::shrug::).

The Stupid Discussion About Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Length
There has been a recent hubbub that has been a point of ugly contention among gamers about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.  That issue is the length of the game.  I’ve been hearing some wacky stuff in that regard, like people saying that the main story is only going to be about 15 hours long.  A statement that is as inaccurate as it is laughable.  That isn’t what they said.  They said it would be roughly…

The Gamers: Dorkness Falls, aka Gamers 4, concludes the award-winning independent fantasy comedy series that began with The Gamers (2002), continued through The Gamers: Dorkness Rising (2008), and ended on a cliffhanger in The Gamers: Hands of Fate (2013). At the end of Gamers 3, the players— the real people rolling the dice—were pulled into the game itself by the series’ nemesis since the original film: The Shadow."
The Shadow!?
The Shadow.
Anyway, Matt Vancil's back again with the final installment to The Gamer's movie franchise. If you've never seen The Gamers, I have some good news for you! You can stream all the movies ad-free here and I recommend you do so 'cause they're funny as hell.
The fourth and final installment is being kickstarted here
If you don't know who Matt Vancil is,

10.Frogger, 9.Dragon's Lair, 8.Dig Dug, 7.Space Invaders, 6.Galaga, 5.Pac-Man, 4.Asteroids, 3.Star Wars, 2.Donkey Kong, and 1.Ms. Pac-Man
I'm generally okay with the list except for Dragon's Lair. While it was certainly impressive to have a video game with such high resolution back in '83, we all knew back then that this was a cheat, and really just a laser disc that let you skip to a new cut scene if your timing was right.
It was 50 cents to play in a world where everything else was 25, crazy hard and your input gameplay-wise was just about timing your button mash. Was not a very compelling experience and didn't really last long in the arcades because no one wanted to play it a second time, once the novelty of the cartoon video wore off.

I've publically gone on record telling folks not to work for ValNet (the company that owns ScreenRant, GameRant, TheGamer, and CBR, among many other terrible nerd/media "news" outlets). They mistreat their workers badly even by the standards of Internet Media Outlets.
Here's another reason not to work with them or engage with their content- they're silencing independent journalists with ridiculous, fictitious copyright claims.

more lucanis spoilers under the cut
ok so this is definitely a different spirit/demon dynamic than what we’ve seen in the past.

the video’s creator doesn’t seem to be familiar with the previous games or lore so i watched most it with the sound turned down to capture screenshots of the gameplay, but they seem to have the most spoiler footage so far so if that’s what you’re looking for it’s there (the voice over just wasn’t helpful in my opinion)

The Trolls Have Never Cared (A response to TheGamer)
There’s this publication that I see on my feed all the time, and I’m always amused by them.  Because they put out some of the stupidest takes I’ve ever seen, couched in the idea that this is coming from the perspective of people hip-deep on the gaming culture.  When in reality, it feels like stuff that AI wrote.  There are names attached to the articles, but part of me thinks the names are…
