First look at The Couple Next Door

A new trailer has been released for The Couple Next Door, which is set to release November 27, 2024.

A six-part thriller, The Couple Next Door stars Sam Heughan, Eleanor Tomlinson, Jessica De Gouw, and Alfred Enoch. The series is a deliciously dark psychological drama exploring the stultifying claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your darkest desires. When Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch) move into an upscale neighborhood, they find themselves in a world of curtain twitching and status anxiety but soon find friendship in the shape of the couple next door: alpha traffic cop Danny (Sam Heughan) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw).

@dewandawise wasn't ready for all the tension in #TheCoupleNextDoor's teaser. We weren't.

DeWanda Wise has many expectations 😆

This reminds me of STARZ exec Kathryn Busby's words, "looking forward to seeing the great chemistry between SH and Eleanor shine in #theCouplenextdoor” 😂 And I’m still waiting.

The series clearly is not in Leeds, nor anywhere in the UK (it looks American but is actually in Eindhoven). It's hard to focus on SH’s Yorkshire-accented when all you are thinking is just how incongruous the setting is. So we've got entertaining characters and funny sexy sex with SH nude (not problem for him to please his fans) and his partner dressed because she refused to perform nude scenes.

But for the silliness. SH, the STARZ eye-candy as Danny, a corrupt Yorkshire traffic cop who smokes joints, zooms around on motorbikes and has a shady sideline working and struggles with the Yorkshire accent he’s implausible and untuned. The couple next door: is a common mistake, the reality of fantasy is not as expected, and doesn't really go anywhere.
