Day 25 of #onceuponaretelling is Egyptian Mythology. Now, this was always one of my favorite times in history class (and Greek/Roman myths). I love the complexity of their beliefs and all the gods in charge of every aspect of their lives (and afterlives)! As much as I am in love with the Greek/Roman mythologies, Egyptian has ALWAYS been first in my heart 😍😘. Specifically, I enjoyed the discussions about the afterlife and mummification. We even had one teacher in 7th grade walk us through how it was done... I’m not kidding. They gathered us in groups in the library and we watched a DEMONSTRATION of someone being “mummified”. It was awesome!!! . . The book I’ve chosen to feature is The Chaos of Stars by @authorkierstenwhite . I discovered this book due to this challenge so thank you for that! 😊 I love it when humans get into the business of the gods for they ALWAYS show them up and teach them a lesson (or 100)🤷🏻‍♀️ even though they try and try to stay out. But family is a whole different story. This Hercules Zero to Hero Soap by @elevencocoavenue made me squeal because i absolutely LOVE Hercules!! I used to watch this movie every night before bed - even downloaded it onto my ipod back when ipods were huge and clunky and the screens were tiny. 😂😂 . . But I just absolute love this soap!! . . My dad would always let me get a book, sometimes several, but the only one that stuck with me - became an obsession just because it was the first type of book like this I had ever read - was Goddess of Yesterday. But if you asked me what my favorite mythology retelling is now, I couldn’t give you an answer. My favorite Indian mythology type book is Tigers Curse. My favorite Egyptian is The Chaos of Stars.
