OKAY, I love this ship SO MUCH, but:

1. Every time someone tags any of its names on a post that is endgame Dra//rry, where Harry has a Something with Cedric and then he dies, or Harry has his Bisexual Crisis™ over Cedric but it never goes anywhere because he dies, or WHATEVER, and then he realizes that Draco is his ~*Twue Wuv*~ because of reasons?

—Yeah, every time someone does that, JKR kills a beloved character and makes up some bullshit excuse for why it was Totally Necessary even though it wasn’t. Seriously, this may not have been the sole reason why I eventually gave up on tracking the Harry/Cedric tags, but it was a major contributing factor.

Like, Dra//rry isn’t my ship but I’m not going to take it away from anyone else. Even if I wanted to be That Person, Dra//rry was a Big Deal in the HP fandom before I even knew that fandom was A Thing, so trying to take it away from anyone (as long as they aren’t being an ass to other fans, in which case it’s about their behavior, not their ship)… It’s not only a dick move, it’s also a completely pointless fight that I’m not going to bother with when I have better things to do than be a jerk to people in a fight that I can never win

………All I want is for people to keep their akchalehalrbskv Dra//rry out of the Harry/Cedric tags. Like…… they have their own tags. Just tag that shit as Dra//rry and stop getting Hedric shippers’ hopes up for new content

and 2. I wouldn’t say that I’m Bothered by the extent to which Cedric is treated as a prop, even by people who don’t simply ship Hedric as a shipping stone to Dra//rry? But I find it kinda low-grade vexing, because…… Come on, guys. We’re a bunch of imaginative, creative, talented people. We can totally give Cedric more of a fucking personality than Lmao He Is Basically Perfect If Maybe A Little Doofy What A Precious Cinnamon Roll uwu

—which vexes me even more in AUs where Cedric goes to the graveyard with Harry as per canon and survives it somehow, like?? ffs, we are imaginative, creative, and talented, and I am pretty sure that we can ship Hedric without doing this shit where Cedric isn’t allowed to be realistically traumatized in this kind of canon-divergence AU situation

Basically, I love Harry too and all, but I wish that more Hedric fans respected Cedric as a character in his own right and not just as Someone To Kiss Harry And Make His Problems More Bearable

I think the reason they had Konohamaru be a toad summoner and Enma/Monkeys is because it was supposed to symbolize him choosing to follow Naruto's footsteps instead of his Grandfathers? I was just talking to someone about this a week or so ago and they explained it to me

i really hope i’m not wrong in guessing this was a typo and meant usagi/mamoru bc otherwise i may need clarification a little bit??

oh man, I still remember being a little tiny Kassie and sighing wistfully about Usagi and Mamoru (or Darien and Serena because ahaha, yup, I watched the questionable English dub on Toonami. Or then there were the TokyoPop translations of the manga, and I forget what they called Mamoru, but they gave Usagi the same, “Serena” name…… but then still called her, “Bunny” all the time and it was just like, “okay, TokyoPop, make up your damn mind”)

And…… I don’t love them as much as I did back then? But it’s in a way where I still do love them and think they’re a great couple, and part of me can never not-love them because they were such a formative influence? No but in all seriousness, if I could change the series, the only change I would really make is Naruto knowing who is parents are the entire time, only keeping it a secret between him and the Sandaime (and the people the Sandaime give the okay to). Like it may not seem big, but I honestly believe that it would have a huge impact on his character, sorta kinda.

Lol, I feel like the problem with Naruto as a character is that he really is too inherently good, in a necessarily "good" way. Like, I live and breathe for good guy characters (I would go to war for the Superfam) but Naruto exist in a world where almost everyone around him are lawful neutral at best??? It's just doesn't work out when you really analyze things lol.

I've believe that what a lot of people (myself included) forget is that Hiruzen and other characters aren't bad, so much as Naruto is just abnormally good. Like Hiruzen is the Hokage and that means that whether we like it or not, he absolutely has to see things in an ends justify the means kind of mentality, because he has an entire village of people that rely on him to properly lead them.

Yeah, I agree a lot. Naruto is just...really weird at being really good. He’s an anomaly and shouldn’t be counted. He’s #canceled.
