sorry I was going through tags on the âbask in your achievement postâ and since you said genuine question I figured Iâd answer! For myself, I force myself to manual bask if Iâm not feeling the emotions automatically; I call it Pavlov-ing myself. My best example is cleaning, I donât have any natural joy from cleaning but when I finish I will stand there and notice whatâs better about my space individually and tell myself Iâm glad i did that, over time Iâve found the feeling accomplished emotions come more naturally once youâve done manual enough to rewire the reward centers.
OHHHH thank you so much for the message!!! this makes a lot of sense, ill try it out :-)

yo thanks for the added context on the hawaii post! I'd taken the tweet at face value earlier, good to be reminded that there's usually more nuance to stuff going on
No problem! Part of me feels kind of bad for doing it though, because like I said in the post the core complaint isnât wrong. I just felt it was kind of weird to use that particular headline with that particular wording to highlight it.
#Iâve gotten a handful of new followers from it so to you guys: hi!#I donât know what youâre expecting from this side blog which is mostly shit posts#but enjoy I guess??#theambernerd#facets answers#is this how answering asks works lol#I donât do this very much

I felt like Star came down pretty firmly on Tigerstar's methods being part of the problem that led to Splashtail? I am quite annoyed that Mallownose being like 'hey uh... the clan is and can be functioning fine without a leader' being ignored, and that they ultimately didn't let Riverclan be the heart of the rebellion that took splashtail out to be pretty bad but I don't think they ultimately were trying to state Tigerheartstar's measures as benign. It was stated multiple times in the book that cats felt more drawn to support splashtail because of the history of invasion
I am right now halfway through the book so maybe I can still change my mind, but I feel that with Sunbeam, a POV character, being consistently and constantly annoyed with RiverClan every time they bring up the occupation as if they were mere petulant children AND the fact that after Splashtail's death Tigerheartstar was the one calling the shots and exiling Splashtail's supporters himself, I do think they are ultimately siding with him.
The way RiverClan has been treated this entire arc, from having their occupation by ShadowClan be framed as something benign and ultimately helpful to making Splashtail their most turned-up-to-11 straw authoritarian that needed to be deposed by a coalition of all the other Clans, is honestly disgusting. And on the arc where the Clans are implementing democratizing reforms no less! It really does not take much reading between the lines to get at the underlying political beliefs these white British ladies are channeling into their writing.

@theambernerd answered your question âHow the heck old are the kids in Voltron?â
One crew member gave estimated ages which people are using, but as of right now there are no canon ages for the characters!
Aaaah nothing causes fandom drama like vague ages for characters!

theambernerd replied to your post: so what'd the probably-scamming charity people do?
wow, that is utterly shitty. why would you go around a dorm complex? weâre all super fucking broke, I donât /have/ that much money outside my savings right now. and thatâs my savings, not questionable charity money
Itâs not a dorm complex, but most of the people here are still college students. Possible motives, in descending order of how charitable I want to be, include:
Theyâre college students who have only been in town a year or two and donât know where the best neighborhoods to hit are.
They didnât want to hit the same places that other people in their fundraising contest hit.
They could hit a whole lot more doors with a whole lot less traveling in apartment complexes than in suburbs.
People who have only been living on their own for a few months are more likely to fall for scams without question.

so what'd the probably-scamming charity people do?
sexyelfdreams replied to your post : Summary of the interaction I just had withâŠ
request
A list of red flags in the âcharityâ people who came to my apartment door:
They didnât give a charity name. They said it was âfor public speaking.â
Tried really hard to seem like my friend. Like, REALLY hard. Completely ignored my resting bitchface and tried to start conversations about, among other things, whether Iâd ever been out of the country, my roommatesâ anime wallscroll, the crock pot, and the cat.
Tried really hard to conceal that they wanted money from me. Initially framed it as them going door-to-door to get points for a contest, and asked me to pick two books off a list that I thought should be donated to kids at a childrenâs hospital. There were no prices listed on the sheet, only pictures and point values. I thought it was a survey thing until they had about half an invoice. When they finally got to the bit where they asked for money, they wouldnât even say it out loud- they just pointed to the number and said âthatâs how much.â They also wouldnât say âpayâ/âmoneyâ/etc.
Their default amount was REALLY high. Like, Iâve spent half my working hours for the last few weeks handling charitable donations, and the low baseline is usually ~$25, with most people giving $50 or $100. And these are longtime supporters who are familiar with who theyâre giving to! These people were asking random strangers, door-to-door in an apartment complex full of broke college students, for $130 out the gate, while trying to avoid them noticing that number as per (3).
The price included a $15 shipping charge for each box of 25 coloring books. Thatâs 30% on top of the base price. Thatâs exorbitant, especially if youâre supposed to be shipping in bulk.
They didnât have any smaller packages than $50. Most charities where you sponsor X amount of stuff let you pick how many to sponsor; this one had nothing less than 25 people.
When I said I couldnât afford that, they tried to wheedle me into paying it anyway because âthere are other options.â
When I said no, they tried to get me to just give them cash, and said âthe last personâ had given them $35, which is still a pretty significant amount of money.
They got snippy when my roommate told them theyâd have better luck asking around a residential neighborhood rather than an apartment complex full of broke college students.
They stole my pen.
