Sea Blooms - Stardew Valley (Shane/Gender neutral Farmer)

His heart isn’t beating rapidly. Instead, it beats in tandem with the rise and sigh of the ocean. It’s a peaceful night, and the Pelican Town residents marvel at the sight of the Moonlight Jellies.

Here, the ocean spray scatters across Shane’s face and his heart sings in tune to the merfolk’s melody.

Beside him, Shane feels the Farmer’s warmth. Their clothed arms touch, and he wonders if they could feel the static coursing through his veins as his fingers drum along the rails. Shane watches them, seeing their expression grow soft with childlike wonder at the glassy water.

“Beautiful,” Shane breathes out. “Absolutely stunning.”

“Yeah,” the Farmer murmurs, eyes darting back and forth in excitement. “Nature is stunning, isn’t she?”

“I actually meant—”

Shane speaks again, but Lewis’ voice rings through the night air.

“Everyone, it’s time to launch the boat!”

The first candle boat sails into the water and parts the darkness with a soft glow. More candle boats follow behind and soon they unfurl like golden sea blooms bobbing across the ocean in quiet grandeur.

The Farmer grabs Shane’s arm and shakes him. “Look, I think I see—”

They both hold their breaths as the water illuminates. Moonlight Jellies emerge from the distance like underwater lanterns. Their beauty and luminescence hush the chatter into a quiet awe.

Moonlight Jellies tuck themselves under the glassy waves and observe the villagers from a distance. One bobs slowly to the surface, approaching the deck where Shane and the Farmer stand, as if intelligently assessing the land dwellers. The Moonlight Jelly bubbles in the water, swirling around in a figure eight circuit.

The Farmer lifts an eyebrow and smiles in Shane’s direction.

So these little zines I wanna make... it's harder than you think to make a nice little recipe zine in eight panels when one is the front cover, one is telling you what you need, and another one is the back cover. You get only five panels here. Yeah you can get all the information in maybe but it's all just crammed in there...

Trying to see if stapling two of these together would work nicely and give me more to work with or just be an unneccessary pain

Hi everyone! I’m feeling a little nervous releasing this on the web, but my zine, Good Chicken / 良い鶏肉 , is available for digital purchase on itch. I made this while at a low point during in 2021 and I also happened to have gotten into BNHA right after Dabi’s shirtless identity reveal out-trended the US elections LOL the stars were in alignment…

Good Chicken / 良い鶏肉 , is a perzine and fanzine based on a dream I had where Dabi (BNHA) and I went to therapy together and unpacked our PTSD, desirability, apologies, and what it means to take responsibility for causing and carrying hurt. Feat. my sister and a chicken. It doesn't cater to the BNHA universe, but it is not spoiler free for the current anime season!

It won a Broken Pencil zine award in 2021 and was described as “…A beautiful manifesto of graphic medicine” by the judges. It is an experimental multi-category work that is part fanzine, part graphic medicine, part shoujo romance manga, and part social theory.
