Putting this here both for my convenience of remembering things and also because if YOU THE READER have any particular episodes or just general concepts you'd like to see get the foxtrap treatment I would genuinely love to hear it. Drop me an inbox. Disclaimer ahead of time that there's a particular late season Trapper John, M.D. episode that I will not be touching with a ten foot pole because I would feel so rude introducing people to the series with it and I'm not going into any more detail than that.
SO. Fics currently on the docket for whenever the hell it is I finish Mating Habits because I'd really like to do a bunch of episode fics:
Misc. pre-canon traphawk relationship development
MASH 1x03 Requiem for a Lightweight
MASH 1x06 Yankee Doodle Doctor
MASH 1x09 Henry, Please Come Home (weird choice I know but there's some major traphawk relationship stuff slotted to happen in this one)
MASH 1x13 Edwina (Trapper/Edwina fic :3 no really trust me. R came up with 90% of this one and hey future Percy fully deserves a co-author credit)
MASH 1x23 Ceasefire
MASH 2x03 Radar's Report (you know why)
MASH 2x06 Kim (you also know why)
MASH 2x12 The Incubator
MASH 2x16 Henry in Love
MASH 2x22 George (I just need to. Been wanting to write something for that episode for ages and this is a great opportunity)
MASH 3x07 Check-Up (again you know why)
MASH 3x19 Aid Station
MASH 3x21 Big Mac - Five-Star Expectations
General beejtraphawk and the kids stuff
Trapper gets his job as chief of surgery in 1969-70 depending on if we want to stick exactly to the TJMD timeline or not - in 1x12 Boom! he has his ten year anniversary
TJMD 1x01 Pilot
TJMD 1x17 If You Can't Stand The Heat (the children's zoo pcp explosion episode guest starring Ed Winter as a guy who gets pcp exploded. no seriously. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this I just know I need to do something)
TJMD 2x07 Earthquake (Gonzo and Trapper rent a cabin together. again no idea what I'm going to do with it but I need to do something)
TJMD 2x09 Have I Got a Girl For You (Trapper proxy-dates Gonzo by taking a girl who's interested in him on a truly weird number of dates. Coincidentally aired Feb. 1st, 1981 which is prime timing for that in the foxtrapverse. Also I made reference to it in Professional Courtesy so come on I've gotta do something with it)
TJMD 2x16 King of the Road (Gonzo daddy issues episode)
TJMD 4x08 Thanks for Giving
TJMD 6x02 My Son the Doctor (JT's introduction to the series)
TJMD 6x07 A Fall to Grace (I have not seen this one yet but it's a Big One and I'm sure I'll be able to do something fun with it)
TJMD 6x18 The Unholy Ghost (JT sees an actual real ghost. again seriously. this show is bonkers)
oh my god that's so many things. that's like twenty things not counting the fact that "general beejtraphawk and the kids stuff" is at minimum five separate things. I will not be doing them in order lmfao they'll just be as I feel like it and god knows if I'll ever get to all of them but WE TRY because with the exception of things I've noted there are very specific ideas behind all of these.

Thought you’d never ask.
2𝓍𝟣𝟣 – 𝑅ɪᴏ’𝓈 𝐿ᴏᴏᴋʙᴏᴏᴋ
Look #1
If there is anything you have come to know about me at this point, it’s that I love this man in a coat. The 1x09 coat? Exquisite. The 1x06 coat? A dream. The 1x07 Cosy Extreme™️ jacket? Wrap me up in it. If it’s soft and enrobing him, I’m into it. Or so I thought.
Why are there brown buttons on a blue coat? Why does it look like a cross between a jacket, a coat and a bathrobe? Why is it buttoned all the way to the top? Why does it look like he took it from his granddad’s closet? (Spot the difference, I dare you.) I like a thrifty king, but stealing from the elderly is where I draw the line.
For those keeping track, we have not seen Rio’s head since 2x09. He could be bald under there. He also hasn’t worn a beanie like a normal person since 2x07.
4.5/10
Look #2
Remember when I got excited about multiple angles on the 2x02 outfit? This episode said Hold my art hoe craft beer.
I will go to my deathbed wondering who tf these yuppies are that Rio is casually dapping up with.
I actually really admire Rio’s audacity bravery because I, myself, would never be able to climb into a Cadillac while wearing that beanie and my one pair of shoes. Respect.
Remember when I was shocked by the concept of his outfits travelling? Well, this time we get him in the same outfit in his fourth location:
It’s nothing special, just a variation on his 2x10 outfit by swapping in his second TJ Maxx jacket that also doesn’t pass my sandpaper test.
Rio is a constant Yanny/Laurel situation with his dark blues and blacks. From future episodes, I know this jacket is blue, but then it looks so black against this blue (?) beanie:
Sigh. He threw the shade-matching rulebook out the window last episode and clearly he is not interested in getting it back.
For those of you keeping track (we’re all doing so, right?), we haven’t seen Rio’s hands since 2x09 because he suddenly believes in winter, I guess, and so this is a momentous occasion:
Hands! Honestly he could’ve been couriering his own fingers for all we knew. And he’s wearing his iconic leather bracelets. (We have not had any jewelry action in a while.)
He’s obviously wearing his one pair of Converse (and oh, we’ll get to that in a second) with his jeans stacked. (Literally what was even happening with the roll-up in 2x08? Was he going through a Cool Dad phase? Oh, Rio.)
Also, quick question @ Squinty McSquinterson: Do you still have hair, sir? Did you dye it all blond? Are the tops of your ears recovering from frostbite? Did you piss off your barber? #BeaniesMustFall
5.5/10
BONUS: Rio’s closet
Hooooboy, this episode we were blessed. For so long we’ve judged the Crime Closet while only guessing at the contents of his normal wardrobe, but this episode took us into the fashionista’s sanctum sanctorum and it’s a rollercoaster, folks.
But, first, we have to do a rapid-fire round with these bonus outfits:
Matching his son (who of course looks fabulous) in blue and we can see his head. Jacket buttoned all the way up, though, and that same pair of Converse. 6/10
A black shirt even on a daytime trip with his family, but he is doing a very deliberate booty pop for the camera that is much appreciated. 8/10
Yet another beanie paired with the one bomber jacket he owns. Zero regard for matching Marcus or that they’re at the park and he looks like the Grim Reaper. 7/10
But... is that the only bomber jacket he owns? Gird your loins.
WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?! There are leather jackets, there’s a linen jacket (??), there are beige shirts, there are white shirts, there are light blue shirts. There’s even a pinstripe shirt?? Where is he wearing these items to?? Clearly not on days out with his son and even his date shirt was dark green, so honestly wtf?
His favourite bar-matching red shirt is also nowhere to be found. Is the Crime Closet literally in a whole different space? Does Rio secretly work at a hedge fund? Not to be the ‘I told you so’ person, but I did tell you we couldn’t trust him.
I’m SICKENED by this shoe display. You mean to tell me that the man who has worn the same three (3) pairs of shoes over 21 episodes owns dress boots? Chukkas? Several pairs?!?! I am disgusted and appalled. The only solace this gives me is that there are two pairs of Converse (plus the ones he’s wearing) here, so at least he’s been rotating them out and not just wearing that same pair in every scene in every episode. I do question whether he knows that shoes come in other colours?
...Apparently he knows jeans do??
I find it pretty hilarious that there’s a whole stack just for black jeans (and sweaters!), but I question where he is wearing those blue jeans to? Are they being paired with the linen jacket? What is the meaning of life?
I’m also horrified to learn that he owns several grey cashmere sweaters but could not deign to wear one to either of the pictured days with his son when Marcus was wearing grey. Do better, Rio. (Is it weird to anyone else that he owns stacks of the exact same item? Who shops this way? And keeps them all together like that? Adrian Monk would approve of this closet.)
Also, I would like to know who I can sue for never having shown us Rio in one of his cashmere sweaters. I need this visual for research purposes. Also, where is the underwear drawer?
And because I guess this experience hasn’t been dizzying enough, we’re presented with these watches:
I-- truly and honestly don’t know where to start. A yellow leather band?! Square faces?! Also, the black leather bracelets would like to know where these watches have been the entire season? They’ve been pulling the entire accessory load while these have just been sitting here in his bedside table? Is Rio scared of getting robbed? Because his arm piece would definitely be the thing of value, not the Cadillac or gold gun. Is he afraid people will judge him for having old-man coats and watches? WHAT IS HAPPENING.
8/10 -- for sheer WTF value
And speaking of WTF...

Podsa Ship Manifesto
I know, I know, there's like three of us that ship this and I'm probably gonna get anon haters in my askbox for the trouble, but here's my reasoning for thinking they could still be endgame post-canon, and it's not just because they're both still alive! (Which is totally reason enough, but I have like, actual reasons beyond NOW KISS.) This meta is based on Game of Thrones the TV show, not the A Song of Ice and Fire books. The canons have diverged pretty starkly (hehe) and both characters are much younger in the books as well, so while I know there is also supportive evidence in the books, I'm not mentioning it on purpose, though feel free to add your own addendum with book evidence! GIFs were all made by me.
I like that both Sansa and Podrick started out as Bad Minor Players: Pod's a bumbling squire; Sansa is a spoiled nobleman's daughter. And yet they both learned, through painful mistakes and persistence, how to get to their Ultimate Goal by series end. Character parallels abound; they're both idealists who have to learn to be pragmatic, endure abuse and disrespect, having hidden skills and strengths, flourishing once learning to both play within and outside The Rules), their trajectories crossed a bunch of times and while I know D&D threw in as many red herrings as actual foreshadowing details, this was their Meet Cute in 3x08:
Tyrion is supposedly talking about himself, but do you see who else is framed in that doorway, literally entering her life?! Combine this with how intensely Sansa grows to regret this particular statement from 1x06:
and what kind of person Podrick shows himself to be, and I'd argue that seeds for this ship were subtly planted waaay back when.
After Joffrey's murder, they're both hustled out of King's Landing, and they don't share screentime again until 5x02, although they don't actually meet or speak in the scene. However, Pod recognizes her voice from across a tavern and sees right through her disguise of dyed hair, identifying her from behind via a single phrase and her face turned in profile once.
I'm sorry, but that kind of instant magnetic knowing is Romance Tropey AF and I'll be forever disappointed at fandom for not going off about it. Siiigh.
They don't meet again until Sansa finally escapes the Boltons in 6x01. And when Brienne offers her sword and service again (and by extension, Pod's), this time Sansa replies like a true lady and accepts. She starts off her vows correctly, but she's been ripped from the life of knights and ladies for so long that she falters partway through. Podrick's gentle assist to jog her memory, right after winning a swordfight to protect her clinched it for me: that was her brave, gentle and strong man, right there. (That scene was such a huge highpoint in all of their arcs, actually. *sobs* THIS SHOW WAS SO FREAKING GOOD.)
And he continues to serve her right up to the end of the series, when it's shown that he's become Bran's Kingsguard, which opens up so many delightful possibilities at last. Like I love this cleverly edited GIFset from 8x04, but since Theon had just died and Pod was still in her service, nothing could have happened?
Politically, they aren't a good match, but only on the surface: Podrick is a distant cousin to Ser Ilyn Payne, who was responsible for executing Sansa’s father. (House Payne is a vassal house to House Lannister, and he comes from a lower branch of it.) However, Pod helped Brienne rescue Sansa from the Boltons, trained soldiers and fought for the North in the Battle For the Dawn. He earned his knighthood with his own merit, and he continues to serve her brother. He is still an unlanded knight (and there's this pesky vow not to marry or father children that may still exist) but Sansa's no longer waaaay out of his league now that he has a title and battle experience. And actually, the fact that he's an unlanded knight is actually a good thing. (More on that later.)
As for why Sansa might find Pod an attractive prospective for her consort beyond the fact that he's you know, attractive and rumored to be fantastic in bed (and I think she would consider how to get herself a Stark heir very pragmatically now): he's still one of the people she trusts absolutely, who was there for here at every stage of her journey, even the worst bits, and he was loyal and supportive throughout. He's of noble blood and well-educated, but he has no power base, so no army will swoop in and claim her throne/lands by deposing her in favour of their child. (She's seen this happen too many times now; she is NOT going to let it happen to her.) He has no political ambitions and his defining character trait is loyalty- he's always just wanted to be a knight, and to serve somebody worthy. And yet he's not just some grunt in armor either- he's well versed in the politics of “which House married which and who hated who,” he speaks up when he doesn't think something is right, and they actually have similar interests: they both like to sing.
All in all, I think they'd make a sweet couple post canon. I also think there's a kind of delicious irony in Tyrion's former squire ending up with the child bride he didn't want.
Fic recs:
The first time I actually saw Podsa in the wild was in @scrubclubwrites's amaaazeballs Gendrya HP AU fic love, war and a few things in between (M, 52884 words.) Pod and Sansa aren't just in the background here, they have a sweet, slow burn relationship in this and if you don't scream when they finally kiss, you probably aren't human.
I've already recced my own fic, The Watcher, which is a Podsa pre-ship fic. (It’s more of a Sansa deals with her trauma fic, and there’s explicit Gendrya sex in it, although it’s not meant to be a shippy Gendrya fic. E, 6833 words)
Also love this young Pod/Young Sansa fic by bryndentully, which shows how they both started out as romantic idealists perfectly: i loved a maid as white as winter
I'm still trawling the archive (the pain of shipping a rarepair means they get tagged in lots of fics that they are barely mentioned in) but I will add to this post as I find more fics I love! Or if somebody else could do a rec list, that would be wonderful!
#podsa#podrick x sansa#podrick payne#sansa stark#meta#ship manifesto#game of thrones#I'll add the last GIF tomorrow I need to sleep not photoshop#and it's still yesterday in most of the rest of the world#podsa appreciation day#mine#myedit#got#omg something happened to the original post and it got deleted somehow?!#but i've rewritten it thank goodness i had it drafted on my computer originally

Part 2 of the “Brave” Connection in Season 2: Tears Aren’t a Woman’s Only Weapon
This is part 2 of my post discussing the scenes in season 2 that are pinpointed with the word “brave”.
Predictions that comes from the first part is the kidnapping of Sansa by Cersei based on the parallel between different characters linked by the Lannister lion necklace. Furthermore since I predict that Sansa is going to be pregnant when taken by Cersei, some scenes I discuss there can be interpreted as a clue that the child would probably be a bastard. The last prediction I discussed there supports the theory that Jon is going to lose an eye, possibly as a price to pay for stealing back Sansa from Cersei.
By the way, for those who aren’t convinced that Sansa is going to be pregnant, would Bobby B screaming it will? Back in part 1, I establish a link through the word “whore” between Sansa and the characters that were used to foreshadow her faith.
Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark in 1x05 - The Wolf and the Lion
No? Well, here in the second part I will discuss the foreshadowing that supports my prediction that Sansa is going to be pregnant when taken by Cersei and that someone is going to try to kill the baby (like the dialogue above telling you). I can only make guesses on who that someone is, but I propose the possibility for that someone to be not Cersei.
Please don’t be mad at me for this, I am so horrified by it too and I could be totally wrong about this and I hope I am wrong, but I found what I found and now I will let you guys decide whether I’m a complete psycho or not. Please stay tune for this very heartwarming prediction....
First again I’m going to point out Jonsa parallel in 2x06/2x07. This is where Ygritte is telling Jon that he is brave and Sansa telling Sandor that the same.
Ygritte to Jon Snow in 2x06 - The Old Gods and the New
Sansa Stark to Sandor Clegane in 2x07 - A Man Without Honor
Therefore I marked “brave” as a word where we should be paying attention when it is said. There are two other scenes in season 2 with “brave” dialogue and I have discussed the other one in part 1.
Now I’m going to discuss this one where we have Gilly saying it to Sam when he saved her from Ghost.
Gilly to Samwell Tarly in 2x02 - The Night Lands
What scene that follows after that?
A. Shot. Of. Long. Claw. Need I say more?
Then what?
Sam is asking Jon to help him help Gilly.
Sam wanted to take Gilly away.
So that’s stealing away a pregnant woman.
A fun bit: will Sam be delivering the baby as well?
Now that was sweet. Here comes the bitter part. Gilly is afraid that she will have a baby boy.
But then ran off before finishing her sentence because she’s too afraid to tell Jon what would happen if she has a boy.
Do we know anyone who is afraid that she won’t have a baby boy?
Sansa Stark and Septa Mordane in 1x04 - Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things.
Sansa is afraid she will have a girl, because a queen’s duty is to provide an heir for the king. A baby boy is a king’s heir, and an heir with a claim to throne becomes a threat to a residing power.
Wait, but I was wrong about something. There is another instance where the word brave is used in season 2.
Catelyn Stark in 2x03 - What is Dead May Never Die
And after that, what was happening in Renly’s storyline?
Your enemies aren’t happy about us. They want to tear us apart. And the best way to stop them is to put your baby in my belly.
Margaery Tyrell in 2x03 - What is Dead May Never Die
How many times have the show put out the importance of an heir for a dynasty? There’s one with Daenerys, with Sansa and Tyrion, and so forth. And how does one produced an heir? By conceiving, carrying and give birth to it.
Cersei Lannister to Sansa Stark in 2x09 - Blackwater
Cersei was talking about seducing Stannis Baratheon, but that’s not the only way to use what’s between a woman’s legs. It is also used to give birth to a king’s heir. The parallel between Sansa and Elizabeth of York is well known, and forgive me if my English history is informed by The White Princess, but in that show Henry Tudor had to make sure EoY can bear his children before marrying her and making her queen. After she’s pregnant with his child, then Henry married and crowned her. His heir helped him lock his claim to throne, especially that this heir have a claim from his mother’s side too, a strong York name. Their first boy is technically a bastard and he died before becoming a king.
I recently read a post by @fortunatelylori saying that child birth is woman’s battlefield in the medieval times. Look what is Cersei saying to Sansa here when they are being attack by Stannis.
At that time Sansa was having her period. Probably the next time she will be in labour to give birth to the king’s heir.
Again, for the question on whether the child will be a bastard or not, there’s some clues here. Cersei also told Sansa that if the city is sacked the women who was with them will be raped and
Come the morning she will no longer have a bastard in her belly because she has gave birth to it.
Now let’s go back to the Gilly episode. After we talk about Gilly giving birth to a baby boy, we are given this scene.
Ross and Littlefinger in 2x02 - The Night Lands
She’s talking about a baby who was Robert Baratheon’s bastard who was killed because they are perceived as a threat to Joffrey’s kingship. That baby was a girl and was killed all the same. Imagine if it’s a boy.
Then Tyrion sent Janos Slynt to the Wall because of this.
Tyrion Lannister to Janos Slynt in 2x02 - The Night Lands
Furthermore some clues that may perhaps show that the baby will be killed by somebody who is paid to do so.
Janos Slynt to Tyrion Lannister in 2x02 - The Nights Land
Tyrion Lannister and Bronn in 2x02 - The Night Lands
So, who will be ordering the kill? Let’s take a look on our possible perpetrators.
First up, Cersei. D’uh! She’s the one who would be kidnapping Sansa after all, to take revenge for her first born son. Wouldn’t it be fitting for her to kill her first born child too? Plus, Cersei now has an army which she paid for. However take a look at this dialogue.
Tyrion Lannister to Cersei in 2x02 - The Night Lands
No, it was Joffrey. Would Cersei have the heart to kill babies when she has loved her own children very much? Especially if it’s Sansa’s baby who would be the bastard child of her brother? Sansa, with whom she have complicated and twisted sort of mother-daughter relationship? I kinda think this will be Cersei’s turning point. What if her mercy towards Sansa will be her doom? What if it is a point where the younger more beautiful queen cast her down? What if it’s when she could no longer do what’s need to be done to stay in power.
When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.
Cersei Lannister in 1x07 - You Win or You Die
I did unspeakable things to protect my family. Or watch does being done on my orders. And whatever I imagine necessary for the safety of House Tyrell, I did. But your sister has done things I was incapable of imagining. She’s a monster, you do know that?
Olenna Tyrell in 7x03 - The Queen’s Justice
What if the most ruthless player in the Game of Thrones, as proven by the statement by Lady Olenna above, couldn’t imagine hurting a child?
Cersei Lannister to Sansa Stark in 2x07 - A Man Without Honor
Cersei has maternal affection towards Sansa like she’s somewhat her own daughter when she’s really not, and that is the irony of her own advice.
Shae to Sansa Stark in 2x09 - Blackwater
And when Sansa gave birth to a child then there it is the grandchild that was promised. (Thank you @une-nuit-pour-se-souvenir for reminding me of this scene)
Cersei Lannister to Catelyn Stark in 1x01 - Winter is Coming
I think I’ve made my point. Cersei is definitely the top contender but the story could choose not to go that way. So now on to the next. The Night’s King is also an obvious candidate because he is already killing babies and Gilly’s son was supposed to be offered to him. There’s nothing to discuss here. It is indeed a very possible option. An option I would hate because that sounded like a j0nerys dream plot. I’m afraid a magic incest baby is already trademarked by them, so I’ll just mention it because it has to be mentioned, but no I don’t like it.
Now next, answer this fun trivia. While Lena Headey said that she is rooting for her character, which actress who was so horrified by her character’s plot in season 8 that she had to walk around aimlessly for hours?
Her stan will have my head for even trying to suggest it and it’s true, it’s quite a wild and baseless accusation and I have no material to back it up save for the actress’ reaction to her character’s plot (and it could be a reaction to any number of things). I haven’t found any foreshadowing to suggest she is capable of and will kill babies for power. However, she has the motives to do that. Obviously, a nephew who has better claim than she is and has an heir from a woman with a great name gives a motive. Especially that she is incapable of producing an heir for herself and she’s avoiding to deal with this small issue. Also, what if she got pregnant and had a miscarriage? Wouldn’t that send her to the edge? Guys, I’m so scared of a j0nerys marriage at this point. Why? Call me insane, but how about a parallel between Jon and Renly Baratheon?
1x05/7x01 and 1x06/7x07
I know, I know, the dialogue parallel is a bit flimsy, but whatever.
So we have a brother-sister-spouse trio. Jaime-Cersei-Robert, Loras-Renly-Margaery and now maybe Sansa-Jon-D*enerys. One sibling is married to another person while being in love with the other person (whether it’s incestuous or gay). Each have an expert swordsman; Jaime, Loras and Jon.
I mean, I’m sure they’ll give us a jonsa ending, but I think they will fucked us up first. Again, this prediction could be insane, but if it happens, I’ll be prepared. (no, I won’t, I will never be prepared for a j0nerys marriage). Imagine, the j0neryses will have their wedding and the jonsas will have their romance but not in way that each shippers really would have wanted it to be.
And I know, the politics doesn’t make sense for a j0nerys marriage bla bla bla, but Jon’s obsession protecting the people from the Night’s King made any normal politics becomes insensible if I may argue. And beside, again, I still believe we will get jonsa at the end.
Say, if Jon married D*ny while having an affair with Sansa and both got pregnant it would made sense for one to want to kill the bastard baby. And what if she had a miscarriage? Remember that Renly was murdered by a shadow baby. If it’s going to happen in a less literal sense with Jon, perhaps he doesn’t want to marry D*any but he has to because she was pregnant. When he could have married the one he really wanted! That’s kinda like being stabbed in the back by a shadow baby.
I’m just putting it out there for consideration, that is if this theory made any sense at all from the first place.
