Ros posted to Instagram twice in one day! Here’s her talking about recording The shadow Rising. She reads us a bit of Lan and Nynaeve saying, “I always feel a great responsibility reading Lan because of course, he’s my warder and everything he does always moves me greatly”

While reading the Wheel of Time books (I'm only up to the third), I pictured Loial as a loxodon/elephant person for maybe no good reason. The whole time Ive been listening to it I've been picturing a wonderful elephant person friend and I just saw what he looks like in the show and it's not Babar-like at all

"There was no oath stronger, unless it was the one a woman took on being made Aes Sedai, and the oath rod bound her to that as surely as to a part of her flesh.
But this oath. By what she had been taught, breaking it would be not much less than murder, maybe no less."

Audiobooks aren’t usually my thing but Rosamund Pike’s narration for The Eye of the World has been absolutely incredible.
The voices she does for every single character??? Including really minor Two Rivers villagers? I can just immediately recognise who’s speaking by how she’s saying the dialogue. She is acting acting.
I’m only a few chapters in still but her Mat in particular is sooo good. And I didn’t even like him that much in season 1 of the show!

saw someone (not on here) comment on the pronunciation of Moghedien based on the audiobooks and here's the thing about that
Kate Reading changes the pronunciation of Moghedien at least three times
so you can't actually go off of the audiobooks on that
because the audiobooks aren't consistent and literally changes based on what book you're listening to
but the way its pronounced in the show it is how the glossary has it. when in doubt, consult the glossary not the audiobooks because this isn't a Moghedien exclusive issue

If you haven’t listened to the Rosamund Pike audiobooks of Wheel of Time I highly recommend it, she does an excellent job.
That aside, her voice for Mat is literally so cute! I deserve financial compensation for the giggle I made in public upon hearing it.
I apologize in advance for the person I’ll become when she does books nine and ten

It must be so difficult slimming WoT to fit into 64 episodes, and I wish Amazon had given them just a few more per season. 10 or 12 episode seasons would allow for so much more breadth and depth! A bit longer in the 2 rivers in s1, and more of the road trip adventures. More White Tower people and interactions in s2. More little beloved scenes from the books transposed in. More room for silliness, for context, for AoL glimpses and Forsaken shenanigans. It's so good, but every second feels full, important. Just a few more episodes to breathe!!

I’m kind of mad about how much more I’m enjoying the first Brandon Sanderson WoT. Like. Rand had a heartfelt moment where he talked about feeling trapped by fate? Nynaeve put herself in someone else’s shoes and felt sympathy for them? Nynaeve acknowledged that Moiraine helped them?? Faile crossed her arms across her chest???

When I watched the Wheel of Time show I really liked it a lot, so by no means am I trying to shit talk on anyone who likes the show
however
if you read the books, the show gets every single thing wrong in every way imaginable.
I'm talking about Eragon levels of bad adaptation.
Every single character is made weaker, every single "girlboss" moment completely undermines every actual moment of independence and character growth the women actually go through.
I think the showrunner actually read a completely different series than I did. It feels like he Joss Whedon'd it.
I'm rewatching the show and losing my goddamn mind.
I can give it 1 single compliment: the casting is perfect, but it ends there.
