Redacted Mate Headcannons đ
Sam and Baabe play boardgames together (their favorites chess)
Angel helps Sweetheart scare Milo whenever they all hang out
Baabe and Angel have lunch once or twice a week. I'm not sure if it's cannon that Angel works a corporate job. I'd have to go back and listen to all the audios again to check. I like to think though, that at least part time, they do tattooing or some other kind of art on the side. On the days that they have time, they meet up and talk with each other over food.
Sweetheart and Sam are siblings ( this one is inspired by @redactahoe and their incredible art and headcanons for Sweetheart i highly recommend going and checking their stuff out )
Sam and Sweetheart also regularly go out for meals together, just the two of them and with their mates.
Sweetheart and Baabe spar and wrestle together. I think Baabe has had professional training as a boxer and a little jiu-jutsu. I know D.U.M.P is a magical institution, but it's still essentially police work, so I imagine almost all of the detectives and officers need some kind of combat training. They work out together to keep both their skills sharp.
Sam has been trying to teach Angel to cook more homemade meals.
During the first solstice they met at, Angel and Sam bonded over the fact that they are both interested in medicine. (I've seen a couple posts in passing about medic/nurse Angel most recently from @piltie-paradigm and @jasmine-loves-writing but if anyone else has nurse Angel stuff please let me know and I will tag yall too because it's a great headcannon)
Angel as a nurse (I'm pretty sure traveling/freelance nurses are a thing right? Cause that's what I imagine Angel doing. They don't have one hospital they work at. They bounce between hospitals in Dahlia and Ferris, resulting in fairly frequent work trips. Never more than a week though.) is insanely good with patients, specifically teenagers, because they know what it's like to be freaked out in a hospital while waiting for care. They make sure every patient gets the attention they deserve
Sam tries to check on Sweetheart at least once a day
The average conversation between Sam and Sweetheart is "I wonder what would happen if-" "stop wondering you're going to get yourself arrested. Or worse hurt and ill have to deal with it"
Baabe collects things. They have almost as much stuff as Ash, except for majority of it is much smaller trinkets and bobbles. Their favorite thing they have is a jar of soda can tabs/bottle caps that Asher gives them every time he has one in exchange for a kiss. (There's multiple jars)
All of the mates know how to ride a motorcycle. Only Baabe does it regularly, they love their bike and treat it better than Asher (according to Asher at least but he's dramatic)
Angel and Baabe play poker and pool and both know how to hustle (baabe is better at poker, Angel is better at pool) neither can beat Sam. Sam is the only person that can beat the both of them, David, and Milo at both games.
Sam likes spending time with the other mates. It reminds him of what it's like to be human. All the little things that they do. The way Angel rambles and has to pause to catch their breath or recollect their thoughts. The way Baabes breath slows down when they're really thinking about something, and the way they crack their knuckles once they have a solution. The way Sweethearts eyes and nose crinkle when they laugh. It reminds him of all the things he doesn't (cant) do anymore
Sam still has an old 1960s Harley leather jacket in pristine condition that was the last thing his grandmother gave him. It still fits too, because she bought it knowing her boy was going to get out and become as strong on the outside as he was inside (he and sweetheart were very malnourished when they lived in Mont Blanc due to circumstances with their family. Their grandma was worried it might end up stunting their growth, but they both turned out like beanpoles, just skinny till they moved away and found some structure)
Baabe has a hard time reading people's emotions, so they try to be very specific with how they speak so that things don't get taken the wrong way. They also have a fairly monotone voice, and flat expression most of the time, which is why people at their job and in public think they're intimidating. However once you've gotten to know them, and you find a topic they're interested in. They can talk more than Angel and Sweetheart
Baabe has a daily routine, and deviating from it unexpectedly can be distressing sometimes, but once the routine has deviated, they're pretty good at factoring it in. Also, they hate showing that they don't understand something, so they do obscene amounts of research on a wide variety of subjects. Whenever friends talk about new things, they pay insane attention and ask questions because they want to know why their friend enjoys the thing.
Baabe has also started trying to do something outside of their routine at least 3 times a week. Hiking is their go-to, but adding in an extra ride on their bike is also good
Sam and Baabe when they're hanging out are either quiet 90% of the time, or they do not shut up. These two together can be professional yappers /pos.
When Sweetheart first met the pack, they were terrified. Surprisingly, it wasn't Milo that reeled them in though, it was Gabe. He asked them to come into his office because he wanted to know the person his sons best friend brought home. (Pack dens like a second home for every pack member. it's not insignificant in size big enough for every pack member to fit and then some. Multiple stories.)
When Gabe asked them to come speak with him, he saw the way their behavior changed from anxious but polite to professional and clean. He thought it was amusing, but he understood why they did it. He was the alpha, after all. Once they were in the office though, he explained he just wanted to know them a little better, and told them he was proud of Milo for choosing a person like them. They still think of that moment a lot, it was the first time they truly felt welcomed somewhere.
Angel collects stickers, pins, and patches to give to the patients they work with. Occasionally, when they're tattooing, they give trinkets to clients who want them or ask about them.
Angel also collects gothic poetry and artwork for no reason other than it fascinates them

could you write a kid sanji fic like you did with luffy?? like sanji gets whammied with a devil fruit n gets turned back tk his germa years or something??
x
Sanji wakes up in the infirmary. He lies there for a moment, blinking up at the ceiling. The room is cool and comfortable, a fan blowing gently in the corner and a door wedged open to let in a breeze rich with the salty, briny tang of the sea.Â
Something about it seems strange. He knows that this is the infirmary, recognizes it somehow, even though it doesnât look the way itâs supposed to. The last time he was sent to the shipâs medical room, it was barely more than an out-of-the-way broom closet, manned by a grizzly old bear who made it clear he didnât have time for clumsy trainees and their second-degree burns. There certainly wasnât room for a proper bed, and if there was, Sanji wouldnât have been tucked into it so carefully.Â
Was the wood in The Orbit always this color? he wonders, eyes drifting to stare at the wall nearest his bed. Rich, almost red, each finished plank as smooth as glass.Â
âOh,â a voice says, âyouâre awake!âÂ
Sanji is very used to strangers. The Orbit is a cruise ship, ferrying hundreds of different customers across the Blues every day. But heâs never seen a person like this before.Â
Itâs a little reindeer, in a pink and blue hat and a fluffy white hoodie with a sheep printed on the front. They hop down from their chair and cross the room to him in an enthusiastic clatter of hooves. Sanji is a runt, according to most of the crewmen on The Orbit and all of his former siblings, but this reindeer is even smaller than him, by almost a foot.
Did they hire a new doctor?
âHow are you feeling?â they ask earnestly. âAll your labs came back okay and your vitals are strong, but Iâm worried you might be coming down with a fever. And I think you were having some bad dreams.âÂ
Sanji blinks, still half-asleep, and decides to humor the little creature. âI feel okay.â
âGood! Let me get you some water and take your temperature again. Then Iâll let the captain in to see you.â
âThe captain? Why does he want to see me?â It occurs to him, belatedly, that he might be in trouble. Sanji sits up fast, ignoring the way it makes his head spin, and cries out, âI didnât mean to!â
The reindeer turns with an insulated water bottle in their tiny hands, brow furrowed beneath their fur. âDidnât mean to what?â
âI donâtâwhatever I did. It was an accident. I can still work.â Donât send me back. Donât make me go. Heâs frozen with a familiar terror, one he has done his best to outrun but will never outgrow.Â
He knows itâs silly. He boarded the ship on Cozia and told everyone who asked that he was an orphan. If they decided to go through all the trouble of bringing him home, instead of just kicking him off at the next port, then that would still be leagues away from where Germa Kingdom usually resides in North Blue. They canât send him back because they donât know where heâs actually from. No one will ever, ever know. Sanji will never tell.Â
But heâs afraid anyway.Â
âYouâre not doing anything until I say so,â the reindeer says firmly. âDoctorâs orders! Luffy only wants to see you because heâs worried about you! Heâll say itâs âcause he misses your food, but thatâs not true. Well, it is true, but itâs not the only thing he misses.âÂ
Sanji isnât sure he followed all of that, but the reindeer seems pretty certain that the captain isnât going to storm in here and shout at Sanji or fire him. Itâs enough that Sanji is able to release his death-grip on the blanket and accept the water bottle that gets shoved insistently towards him.Â
Luffy? he wants to ask. The captain of The Orbit is called Chas. And Sanji is only a trainee in the kitchens, hardly allowed to do more than shadow the seasoned chefs. When he does cook, it's for himself, and maybe sometimes the mice that live in the underbelly of the ship. He canât think of any reason why the captainâor anybody, reallyâwould miss Sanjiâs food.Â
Luffy. The name settles inside of him like the first swallow of warm soup on a blustery winter day. He doesnât understand it, but he presses his hands to his chest and tries to hold onto it.Â
When the reindeer is satisfied that Sanjiâs sufficiently hydrated and his temperature is normal, they say, âOkay, you wait right here while I go get him. Is there anything you need? Are you hungry?â
Still a little nervous, Sanji shakes his head quickly.
The reindeer makes a dubious âhmmmmâ noise like theyâre not convinced but they donât want to argue. They pull the door open the rest of the way and disappear out of it, calling for someone at the top of their lungs.
Thereâs a lot of noise out there. Sanji tilts his head, trying to listen. He can hear music and laughter. Then he hears the thunder of feet approaching the infirmary at a breakneck pace, and he barely has any time to get scared before a beaming face appears in the doorway.Â
Oh, thatâs Luffy. Sanji knows itâs him right away. He doesnât know how he knows. Itâs the warm soup feeling again.Â
âSANJI!â the familiar stranger exclaims, bursting inside with wild enthusiasm, like thereâs something very wonderful waiting in the medbay somewhere. Sanji is sure there isnâtâitâs just him in here.Â
But Luffy bounces right onto the bed, sitting cross-legged on top of the soft blankets so that he and Sanji are eye-to-eye.Â
âChopper said you woke up! Youâve been asleep for ages. How do you feel?â
âOkay,â Sanji says carefully. Luffy definitely isnât Captain Chas. So this definitely isnât the infirmary on The Orbit after all. He must be somewhere else. But how did he get here? And how do they know his name?
âYou look okay,â the older boy agrees, leaning in like heâll be able to tell itâs true just by getting a good look at Sanjiâs face. âBut thereâs no way youâre not hungry! You missed dinner and breakfast and lunch!â
Twisting the blanket in his lap, Sanji says, âIâm really okay.â Judge used to send him away without dinner all the time, for any little thing. It was a punishment Sanji actually preferred, because it was the only one that didnât leave him bruised or bleeding. Hunger pains are like an old friend to him.Â
âNope,â Luffy says suddenly, and leans forward and scoops Sanji right out of the bed. âThereâs not a ton of rules on my ship, but the ones we do have are super important. And this rule even belongs to youâno skipping meals, shitheads!âÂ
He adopts a low, slightly husky drawl for that last part, like heâs imitating someone. Sanji is too preoccupied with being picked up, clutching at Luffyâs shoulder and the front of his shirt, to wonder much about that.
âPut me down, please,â he blurts, barely clinging to the manners that were sometimes his only saving grace in Vinsmoke Castle, even though he really wants to flail and shout and kick until heâs dropped or tossed away. Bigger people make him nervous. Bigger people grabbing him makes him nearly black out with fear.Â
But Luffy just laughs, and itâs a warm, ringing sound. He doesnât seem like heâs going to listen. And itâs actually not that frightening, after all, being held up by him. Â
âCanât,â he declares. âChopper said you werenât allowed to get up, which means I have to carry you.âÂ
âThe reindeer said you were the captain,â Sanji says suspiciously.
âI am the captain. That means Iâm not the doctor, or the shipwright, or the navigator, or the cook. I canât do any of those things that my nakama can do, thatâs why theyâre so important. Thatâs why what Chopper says goes!âÂ
He tosses Sanji up playfully and catches him, the way Sanji has seen guests do with their children sometimes. Luffyâs not big and burly like the deckhands on The Orbit are, but heâs strong. His slim arms feel safe.Â
Outside, Sanji has to squint through the late afternoon sunlight, lifting a hand to shade his eyes. Theyâre on the second story of a grand ship deck, coming down the stairs at a brisk clip.
From their seat on a rope swing, the reindeer themself wails, âLuffy! I said he had to stay in bed!âÂ
âHuh? I didnât hear that part,â Luffy calls back blithely, everything he just told Sanji about listening to his crewmates tossed out on its ear. âWe need food! Nami, the fridge!âÂ
âYes, yes,â a tangerine-haired woman says, sounding put-upon. She folds the paper sheâs reading and sets it aside. When her eyes fall on Sanji, she smiles in a way that transforms her whole face. âHi, there. Iva said youâd be a little confused until the hormones wore off. Do you know me?â
Sanji doesnât know Iva and he doesnât know what hormones sheâs talking about, but he likes her smile. Everyone on the deck is smiling at him, like theyâre happy to see him. He doesnât understand. No one has been happy to see him since his mom died.Â
Behind the tangerine-haired woman, thereâs a skeleton in a feather boa, strumming absently on a guitar. The bare skull where his face should be is wearing a rictus grin and heart-shaped sunglasses.Â
It should be a frightening thing to see. Instead, it simply makes everything else make perfect sense.Â
Oh, Sanji realizes, the worry and confusion in his heart finally settling. This is a dream.Â
âGuess not,â the woman is saying to a man with a long nose and lots of curly dark hair piled up in a bun, since Sanji never answered her.Â
âItâs only temporary,â the man replies earnestly, though he sounds a little anxious himself. âWeâll have him back to normal before you know it!â
âWeâd better,â a green-haired man says dryly. âIf Franky cooks for us again, I may throw myself overboard.â
âOy! I make boats, not fancy five-course dinners!âÂ
âI can,â Sanji starts to say, forgetting himself. He stops abruptly, covering his mouth with one hand, but itâs too late. Everyoneâs already looking at him again. But if itâs a dream, and theyâre all dream people, then they wonât mind if he talks out of turn. Testing the waters, he continues carefully, âI can make dinner.â
âYou can?â Chopper, the reindeer, asks like itâs some amazing feat. âBut youâre so little! You already knew how to cook when you were this little?â
âIâm almost nine,â Sanji says importantly. âThatâs practically almost a teenager. Thatâs almost grown-up.â
âAlmost, almost, almost,â a tall woman with a curtain of shimmery black hair murmurs, her voice rich with laughter and openly affectionate.Â
âNaaamiii,â Luffy whines, unlike Judge or Chas or any other authority figure Sanji has ever met. âFridge!â
âWell, get a move on then!â she says, turning him by the shoulders and propelling him forward to one of the doors by the stairs. A bunch of the others start to follow, but a sharp look from the green-haired man causes them to stay behind and glare mulishly at him instead.Â
Even Nami doesnât linger after unlocking the fridge. She swipes a snack from inside, something in a delicate little crystal dessert cup, then tousles Luffyâs hair playfully, then touches Sanjiâs cheek like sheâd like to tell him something, but doesnât know how to make him understand. Then she goes, the galley door swinging shut behind her.Â
Luffy sits Sanji down on the counter and stands back with his hands on his hips.Â
âI may not be a cook, but my brothers and I grew up by ourselves most of the time and we didnât always have someone around to make meals for us,â he declares. âBefore Ace went away, he made sure I wouldnât starve. Thereâs like three whole things I know how to make really well! So Sanji can tell me what to do, and Iâll do it. What should we cook?â
The name Ace causes a tender pang in Sanjiâs chest that he doesnât understand. It makes him want to check on Luffy and make sure heâs okay, even though heâs standing right in front of Sanji, beaming ear to ear.Â
He kicks his dangling feet back and forth, glancing around the big kitchen, with its spotless counters and hand-stitched dish towels and the pink apron hanging from one of the cabinet handles. Itâs a kitchen that belongs in a home.Â
He looks back up at Luffy.Â
âWhat was your favorite thing to cook with your brothers?â
Barbecued alligator isnât a viable option for half a dozen reasons, but thereâs dark meat chicken in the fridge that will make a neat substitution. Luffy is hapless but enthusiastic. Sanji doesnât actually trust him with an open flame so once the chicken is seasoned it goes in a big dish to bake in the commercial-sized oven.Â
The entire kitchen is messy somehow even though they didnât even use the whole thing. Sanjiâs face hurts from smiling.Â
âI hope you like it,â he says, twisting the dial on a funny tomato-shaped timer. âBut you donât have to eat it if itâs bad.â
Luffy boosts himself up to sit on the counter beside Sanji. Lifting a big bowl of fresh fruits into his lap, he picks out a lychee and begins peeling it with deft fingers.
âSanji is amazing,â he says plainly. âHeâs the best cook in all the Blues and the whole Grand Line. He made a cake so yummy that it stopped a crazy rampage once. Iâm really glad heâs mine.â
Reaching over, he takes Sanjiâs hand. Itâs small and fragile in Luffyâs grasp, and covered in scars, but the young captain doesnât say anything about any of that.
He puts the peeled lychee in Sanjiâs palm, a perfect shining little moon.Â
âSanji canât make anything bad,â Luffy says, utterly certain. âHis hands are good.â
It has to be a dream. Most people only get one big miracle in their lives, if theyâre lucky, and Sanji had his alreadyâthe chance to run to freedom, granted to him by his sister in an uncharacteristic act of kindness he still doesnât understand.
Thereâs no way a place like this could really exist, full of people who smile warmly at Sanji and touch him without hurting him, who worry about him when heâs sick and miss him while heâs gone.Â
Sanji hopes he remembers all of it when he wakes up.Â
For now he mumbles shyly, âCan we cook together some more?âÂ
âTogetherâ ends up meaning together-with-everybody as the rest of the crew refuses to be left out for much longer. Even the green-haired man slinks inside the dining hall eventually. He doesnât help at all with the tricky lemon blueberry icebox cake that Usopp stubbornly insisted on, but he gamely tastes whatever gets pushed his way. The kitchen becomes even more of a mess than it was before, and thereâs flour everywhere and sticky blueberry sauce all over Sanjiâs hands, but he hasnât laughed this much since he was little. Since he could still run off to momâs room and climb into her big soft bed and curl up with her arms around him, while she told him stories that made the world seem like a smaller, kinder place.Â
These people donât make the world seem smaller. They make it seem huge. And Sanji isnât afraid of it. He doesnât want to hide. He wants to see the whole thing.Â
He wants them to be there when he finds All Blue. He thinks maybe he can really, actually find it, if all of them come with him.Â
(Two nights later, Sanji wakes up overheated and extremely cramped in a bunk not built for two grown men. He bites back a groan at what feels like the remains of a bad hangover and cranes his neck to see who is sprawled out over him like an inconvenient blanket.Â
Of course itâs his captain, the overgrown kid snoring away with his arms tucked around Sanjiâs middle.Â
Little shit, he thinks, beginning the careful process of extracting himself. He manages to slip out of bed without waking the younger boy up, scowling without real ire at the shameless way Luffy stretches out in his sleep to fully commandeer the whole bunk. Did he have a bad dream? Sanji wonders a second later.Â
He untangles the blanket and covers his captain with it properly. Lighting a cigarette, a brief flicker of fire in the dark quarters, Sanji lingers just long enough to push a hand through Luffyâs hair.Â
Whatever happened, itâs nothing a good meal wonât fix.)

Listening to Christmas music today, remembering my mom's birthday was on christmas, and thinking of my own issues led me to end up writing a 10 page outline for a Mr. Freeze miniseries involving a lot of personal connections to stuff i feel like i've gone through (also, the phantom stranger ends up playing an important role). So here's what I wrote:
In reference to the Twelve Days of Christmas, we'd have a 12 (possibly 14, if I do a prologue and epilogue) Issue Mini-Series about Mister Freeze on Christmas. It's a story all about him, in fact. While Batman's away from Gotham, Victor Fries escapes from Arkham only to find that someone stole Nora away from him, and left him a note: If Victor doesn't find her within 12 days, she'll die.
This story would explain everything about Victor Fries: His childhood, how he met Nora, how she got Cancer, how he became Mr. Freeze, etc. We'd also address some big unanswered questions, like: did Victor and Nora have any siblings or living parents? What happened to them? What was Nora's childhood like? All of these questions would be answered. The story is a story of Victor Fries in the present, but it's just as much a big biography of the lives of Victor and Nora Fries.
The story would be arranged in 14 parts; a prologue, an epilogue and 12 chapters in between. On his quest, Victor Fries ends up helping people, reconnecting with his and nora's family, and rediscovering the joy of christmas. Grief counseling through trauma, in a way. But the story would feature as many characters as I can fit in it: The Phantom Stranger, The Spectre, Superman, Captain Cold, Captain Marvel/Shazam, Batman's Rogues Gallery (pretty much all of them), etc. It's a big story, with long chapters.
But since I know I'll probably forget it if I don't write it down now, let me reveal the real villain of this story. The one responsible for kidnapping Nora and blackmailing Victor is⌠Ferris Boyle, with an assist from Nora's vindictive mother. Ferris Boyle lost all of his money after Victor's story made it to the presses. Gothcorp went bankrupt, and Ferris lost everything. His brain couldn't cope with that, and he swore revenge on Victor. He then found an eager accomplice in Nora's mother, a vindictive and judgemental woman who always felt hated her daughter (yet who also felt Nora was too good for Victor). She blamed him for Nora developing Cancer, and she eagerly agreed to team up with Ferris Boyle.
For 12 days, they lead Victor on a wild goose chase across the country, until he finally manages to confront them back where it all began: in the wreckage of the old house where him and Nora lived together. Seeing what Ferris Boyle is trying to do to him (and that Nora's mother is still trying to take her daughter away from him, when he knows how she treated her), Victor snaps.
In the chaos of the fight in the wreckage, Nora's cryo-chamber breaks. The shrapnel shoots into all three of them. Ferris Boyle is impaled on a chunk of glass shortly after talking about how love is fleeting, while money is everything. Victor's suit breaks, meaning his life is now in danger. And Nora's mom got a chunk of metal caught in her leg. Victor cradles Nora's body, and he just cries, knowing it's hopeless. He has no time to build a new cryo-chamber and save her. It's all overâŚ
And that's when the miracle of Christmas comes into play. The Phantom Stranger appears, and he promises to get Nora safely to a hospital. Victor gently passes her over, and the Stranger begins his walk to a hospital. Meanwhile, Victor has to deal with the injured form of Nora's mother, and the dead body of Ferris Boyle. Knowing that Nora's mom doesn't deserve to die in agony (even if she is a horrible person), he bandages her injuries and trudges off in the snow towards The Phantom Stranger. But the twist: Boyle isn't dead yet; he's merely dying of blood loss. But he trails them too.
At the hospital, Victor and The Phantom Stranger succesfully get Nora back into a cryo-chamber, and then get her mother into a hospital bed. The Stranger vows to look after them, while Victor goes for a walk. Victor goes to sit in the snow outside and think, and that's when a dying Ferris Boyle ambushes him. Pulling the shrapnel out of his chest, he uses it like a knife and tries to stab Victor. He misses, but he keeps trying to fight. He mumbles incoherently about how Victor took everything from him, only for Victor to snap and punch him in the face. And that punch was the finishing touch. Ferris Boyle finally dies, his broken body falling into the snowbankâŚ
And now, for a somewhat happy ending to this story (and something that just feels religious enough to work in a christmas story): Victor hears crying near Ferris's body. Trudging over to it, he finds a baby in the snow, clearly abandoned by his mother. Seeing this as a sign (him and nora could never have kids, and christmas day was nora's birthday), victor takes the child in as his own. And then our epilogue would show Victor finally reconciling with as many of his and nora's family as he can, and then him having a big christmas gathering with all the people who helped him during this twelve day quest.
Then, when he's finally alone, he cradles the baby in his arms and tenderly talks to a photo of Nora. He'll never stop working on a cure for her, but these twelve nights have felt like a sign. A sign he needs to try and stop living in his past, in isolation and loneliness. And he's going to try to fix this, for Nora's sake. She'd want him to do it, for himself if nothing else. And as he cradles the child and rocks them to sleep, The Phantom Stranger watches over it all from the shadowsâŚ
#I like what I wrote#i didn't plot all 14 parts#but it's tempting to try and do that#because this idea is personal and yet also me just trying to make a good story#mr freeze#victor fries#nora fries#christmas#the phantom stranger#phantom stranger#batman villians#batman rogues#my ideas#story ideas#comic ideas#ideas#writing ideas#fic ideas#ferris boyle#dc comics#comic books#comics#dc headcanons#personal#in some ways

im not gonna go into too much detail since its my business that doesnt need to aired out in the open
but this weekend was absolutely worst case scenario. i was no contact with my father for 3 years before he contacted us shortly after my mom's cancer surgery and because me and my sibling were both so vulnerable we decided to give it one last chance.
I made a mistaking thinking things would be different, he has his fair share of trauma and one of the first things he said to us on the phone a few months ago that no matter what he loves us and supports us with 'living our lives they way we want' and that was not the case at all
he brought his new wife and step daughter with him ( i realize now that he guilt tripped me into letting them come even when i said it should just be us) and i'm pretty sure they have NO idea about our baggage
he just acted like nothing had happened the past 3 years. we didnt have a conversation lasting more than a minute at a time. his new normal family didnt even talk to us or try to get to know us, i still dont even know what his wife's job is or his step daughter's college major is
they made me cry on the ferry to seattle yesterday, trying to convince me and brother to just get odd jobs or find work online rather than go through with disability benefits and at that point i just mentally clocked out. once we were out of the car in seattle i decided to stay at a near by cafe so they could go to tourist-y stuff (i do not do good in big crowds) and i just ended up ubering to the ferry terminal and went home on my own. And i have not talked to them since, he know i was upset and feeling sick and didn't even send me a text asking how he was doing. instead he dropped my sibling back home in the afternoon, didn't even take him out to eat, and then sent us pictures of the drinks he got at this local cider place that me and griffin were dying to try out. he was 20 minutes away and went out with his new family and took pictures to shows. i repeat. he was 20 minutes away from my house.
so i cut my losses and ended up writing a long ass letter last night. i wasnt mean, calling him a horrible person or calling him names. just how i felt so utterly unimportant to him and had no idea why he even reached out to us again, i told him i felt like he played a horrible cruel joke on me and brother
and thats that i guess. i was absolutely appalled by his step daughter and wife. I have never met such a group of entitled people before, the two of them are 1st gen ukrainian immigrants. They were absolutely disgusted that there were public needle disposal stations and pro-palestinian signage in the area. I cannot believe that they experienced the horror and pain of the current on-going conflict of their home on such a personal level yet roll their eyes at the current genocide happening in gaza. 'im glad the college protesting fad isn't popular on tiktok anymore' 'no one talks about ukraine anymore because of this' like. absolutely abhorrent.
so yippee i guess i have my final closure!!!!! theres no more second chances (this was like, the 10th chance at this point the past 20 years lol)
ok i realize i went into Too much detail but i feel better posting this thank god

TW: homophobia, dementia, toxic family, death
So I just finished watching The Notebook (yes, I cried like a little baby). So, to add to the list of fics that I will never write, I present:
Dreamling: The Notebook AU (with a spark of homophobia, because this is the '40s)
Dream Oneiros Endless comes from a large rich family. Robert (Hob) Gadling comes from the complete opposite and works at a mill. They meet through mutual friends. Hob continuously asks Dream out, which he responds to negatively each time (let's just say that they both managed to find friend groups that are also secretly queer, so they don't care). Eventually, Hob does the "hangs from the ferris wheel" scene, gets a promise from Dream to go on a date with him, the movie scene happens, etc. They finally go on that walk and Dream falls for him. Yay, happy scenes as they fall further in love.
And then Dream mentions that he has to go to New York for college (they can be American in this AU or there can be another reason for this). They go to the abandoned house, where they talk about fixing up the house. Things are heating up when Matthew, Hob's friend, tells them that Dream's parents have the police out looking for him. They go back to his house, the whole argument with the parents happen (perhaps with the siblings looking on or overhearing from another room. Destiny and Death, whatever their names happen to be in this AU, are probably moved out at this point, but maybe they could be visiting for some reason or they find out about this whole thing another way). The argument between Hob and Dream happens and he leaves.
The next day, Dream is informed that they are leaving. He tries to go to the mill to talk to Hob, but he's not there, so they miss each other. Hob writes a letter to Dream every day for a year, but Dream's mother throws them out. Death somehow finds them and saves them all, but something stops her from giving them to Dream.
Hob enlists in the army. Perhaps Dream has some form of condition that prevents him from enlisting, but he works as a nurse instead. There, he meets Calliope, a fellow nurse. They begin to get to know each other and Dream goes back to school once he is able to. His parents approve of Calliope, as she comes from old money and is a (respectable) woman. He proposes and they are engaged.
Hob, meanwhile, returns and finally gets the house that they talked about. When going to get materials to fix it up, he spots Dream and runs to talk to him but ends up seeing him with Calliope instead. He returns to the house and focuses wholeheartedly on that. Once he's finished with it, he lists it as for sale but no buyer seems good enough. He gets involved with Eleanor, but they both know that she's not who he really wants.
Calliope is buying a wedding dress and someone brings her a newspaper, where there is information about the wedding printed. Someone leaves it on a table and Dream ends up coming across it. He unfolds it and sees the ad about Hob and the house. He contemplates for a while and then informs Calliope that he needs to return to Seabrook (or whatever the town is) to settle some things.
He finds the house and Hob. He freezes up and Dream goes to leave, but, being a horrendous driver, he drives right into the fences and the car stalls. Hob invites him in and they catch up and have dinner. Dream leaves and Hob asks him to come again tomorrow.
They have the day out on the lake and it begins to rain. Dream finds out about the letters. Things heat up quickly after that and they finally have sex. Dream and Eleanor meet.
The next morning, Hob is gone but has left a note. Dream follows the arrows and paints, with only a blanket around him, on the porch. Someone arrives and he hurries down to greet them. It's his sister.
Death (or whatever her name is in this) informs him that Calliope is coming. He asks if she knew about the letters and she tells him what happened and then asks him to drive with her. She takes him into town, where she points out a woman who she says that she had been in love with and had tried to run away with but had been caught, but that she sometimes goes there to watch her and think about how life might have been.
She drives him back and tells him that she hopes that he makes the right decision and gives him the letters. Hob and Dream fight again and then he goes back to the hotel, where he and Calliope talk.
Finally, Dream returns to the house and he and Hob remain together.
Years later, Dream is diagnosed with dementia. He writes their story in a notebook together and writes a note in it, asking Hob to read it to him and promising that he will come back if he does. Hob continuously reads it to him, getting him to remember before he soon forgets again.
The most recent time is too much for Hob and he breaks down and is found unconscious in bed the next morning. After being rushed to the hospital, he returns and tells the nurse that he wants to see Dream ("Mr. Endless"). The nurse pretends to insist that he return to his room.
Hob goes to Dream's room and he remembers him. The two talk of miracles and the next morning, the nurse finds them in the bed, having passed away together.

AAAAAAAAAAAAA BRO I NEED IT
tl;dr is that Professor layton helped w trauma, listed is the journey through the games and future hype for PLWoS
So, I recently got into professor layton (a year ago, to be specific) and I must say, It has helped me SO FUCKIN MUCH WITH SO MUCH TRAUMA--
I have schizoeffective disorder. I have severe PTSD from years of mental and physical abuse from my parents. I have ADHD and may also be autistic, getting tested at 25 years is difficult.
When I started Professor Layton, I decided to play in release order--"I want to experience what long time fans experienced." I felt it would be more genuine. So, I downloaded an emulator (yeah i know, bad Vero) and started to play. I wrote down my reactions to each game after i beat them:
PLCB: THIS MAN GOT CHASED BY A FERRIS WHEEL!!!! THATS COOL AF! It was a really fun game, cool story with neat puzzles tHaT wErE hArD aF (i was kind of nonchalant about the games, just getting into them)
PLPB: ayo he got a box OH WAIT HE DED--i enjoyed the gameplay and watching the bad guy be the bad guy. interesting sequel, hopefully luke stays with the professor a long time lol (I jinxed it lol, also felt a bit more connected to Luke as a character and his admiration for Hershel)
(I took a long break after this one due to college lol but now i just play after my homework is done)
PLLF: I didnt write anything after this one. i just sat in silence for about a week, and I didnt eat for a few days. This was when my foster dad died, and i felt strangely as if i had healed a lot. After that week. I guess I just kinda took the time to process the loss of someone who i consider my true father. It was at this point I realized that playing the games had helped. I also didnt mentally process that luke left the professor lol until i watched someones playthrough of the last part of the game again
PLSC: BRO ITS LUKE AGAIN BUT HES YOUNGER AND HAS TRUST ISSUES WTF ITS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE except luke didnt go through massive trauma (unless you count the ghost stuff and the witch stuff and the house stuff as trauma) yeah i like it very good
PLMM: RANDALL IS WAY TOO FUCKIN HOT FOR MY LIKING I JUST NNNNNGGGUHHUHUHUH also SIBLING BINDING WOOOOOOOOOOO
I am currently playing through Azran Legacy, and I must say it lives up to the hype. Havent reached the ending tho so im trying to not run into spoilers. also I know descole is sycamore im not dumb THEY LITERALLY LOOK ALIKE AND THE BUTLER IS THE SAME WTF if theyre not the same person im gonna spazzzzzzzz
All in all, I plan on figuring out how to a b s o r b all the content from the spin offs (in order to do this i also want to play all the phoenix wright games, wish me luck lol) and will eventually get the Katrielle game.
I have a lot to do in preparation for New World of Steam! I hope im able to do it in time, and also that its just as good as the previous games. I know Quizknock will do a good job, its just whether i will enjoy it or not.
Thank you for reading, sorry for the long post; i have no potatoes to offer but nevertheless have a good day~!

ŕł warnings: mention of alcohol drinking ( but aside from that, just lots and lots of fluff!)
ŕł this is my very first writing contribution to the genshin fandom, so i hope everyone likes it! Â after 5 months of playing genshin, i think itâs safe to say my brainrot for it has finally consumed me and iâm confident enough to brew something up! <3
ŕł genshin impact masterlistÂ
ŕł if you want to be a part of my taglist, answer this form! âĄ

CHILDE:
â You and Childe are the perfect embodiment of the best friends to roommates trope. Whenever you wanna sleep in for 5 minutes more and youâre about to run late for your first class, Childe never fails to slowly drag you out of your bed, laughing as he does so. âWake up sunshine!â is the first thing you always hear in the morning and you donât complain if you get to hear his smexy voice anyway. He is a confident flirt and is not afraid to show you how much he cares or how much he pines over you.Â
â Heâs always always there to save the day. There was a time when your classmates stood you up on the group project you were making, and guess who comes up to you with glitter, glue, and colored paper? Childe, of course! He stayed up until the wee hours of the night with you just so he can help you finish it. He even promises to set things in a âvery civil wayâ with your absolute jerk groupmates the very next day. You practically hang out with him 24/7 as most of the time he just barges in your shared apartment with some amusement park tickets on hand or to some expensive yoga or judo class. Thereâs never a dull moment with him and with each passing day, the more you fall harder for him.
â After a morning jog with him and seeing cute little dogs frolicking around with their married owners, Childe suddenly had the urge to adopt a dog with you.  But, due to a no pets rules established by the landlord, the two of you opt to owning hamsters instead! Childe named his hamster, narwhal (after his favorite animal of course!) whereas you named yours bunny, to match his irrelevant pet name picking. your hamsters both share the same house/cage and even they are pining over each other.
â His siblings visit a lot, especially Teucer. At this point, there was never a day the little boy didnât ask when are you and Childe going to finally become âplayground playmatesâ (a term for lovers that they use in second grade apparently) since the two of you are living with each other and seem so close. Childe is always able to successfully change the topic and shift away from talking about the shared feelings that the both of you have for each other. But, alas, the day had finally came to be and during your monthly trip to the amusement park, Childe confidently confesses to you on top of the ferris wheel.
âSo... everyone in my life knows that youâre my best friend. Yea, thatâs pretty cool and all but... Can we be more than just that (Y/N)? Is there hope if I think there could be something between us?â

DILUC:
â Diluc is your posh and rich roommate who sounds and looks too good to be true. The fact that youâre roomies with the literal heir to the countryâs biggest wine and beverage company sounds like something straight out of a fanfic. But, it was of his volition to decide to live in a penthouse near Teyvat University. It was the doings of his step-brother Kaeya who tricked him into getting a roommate so that he wonât be alone for the rest of his college years... aaand thatâs where you come in. practically barged into his life, but, you were a blessing. an angel sent from the skies.
â Heâs quite cold and unapproachable at first, only greeting you whenever he sees you but never bothered to engage in small talk with you. Even if the both of you go to the same university. It wasnât until your second month as roommates, when you accidentally had too much to drink after a friendsâ night out. You come home to see him in the living room, drinking grape juice from a wine glass, and watching a rerun of Hannah Montana. You practically collapse at the front door, he rushes to you and helps you up as you drunkenly confess to him in tears how you wanted to become much closer to him especially since the two of you are going to spend the rest of your college years together. That was when Diluc realized how distant and aloof heâs been and vows to make it up to you.
â Diluc is very talented. Albeit in very discreet way, he makes sure to make use of his talents especially if itâs an opportunity to make memories with you. He is an amazing cook as much as he tries to deny it, Heâs a secret virtuoso caught in 4k when you impulsively bought a guitar one time and you asked if he knows how to play, and he does so well. He practically serenades you in the most non-obvious way possible. Lastly, Heâs very athletic. You invited him to play tennis one time, betting that if he won, you would do his bidding for the rest of the week. Before you could even blink, he wins. His âpunishmentâ for you was that you accompany him in binge-watching TV Dramas. Greyâs Anatomy and Downtown Abby are just some of the shows the two of you would watch. It is absolutely adorable seeing him so invested in these dramas. and since the next on Dilucâs list were sit-coms, you were preparing yourself to answer his questions on the context of jokes that he didnât get. In a poor attempt to flirt with you, he calls out your name and recites in the most Joey Tribbiani voice he could muster, âHow you doin?â You were laughing so so hard that night because his pick up line actually worked on you and suddenly your realizations came full circle: you were very much in love with him too.
â His naturally cool yet shy nature had always gotten the best of him. Heâs always wanted to ask if you wanted to carpool with him to school. Riding with him in his Tesla sportscar that goes 150 Mph? Heck yeah. However, it took quite a while before he could muster up the courage to ask you (4 months of being roommates until he finally popped the question) Since then, the two of you go home to and from University whenever you had similar schedules. Ever since then, Diluc had began to soften. His cold and hard facade slowly melted. Asking if you could help tie his floofy red hair then heâd let you play with it and let you style it in different ways. He takes you out on cafĂŠ dates during lunch breaks and take you out to watch a movie after both of your late night lectures. Everyone in campus thinks the two of you are practically together at this point. All that was left was to bare your feelings with one another through a fumbling and awkward confession.
âWords cannot not suffice these feelings Iâve been harboring for you since the very beginning. I L-like you a lot. Do you feel the same way too?â

KAEYA:
- Everyone loves Kaeya. Your friends and family, The School Faculty, The owner of the Convenience Store from down the street, The old lady who lives next door, The little kids from down the hall, and even the angry brown poodles from the farthest apartment to your right absolutely loved him. it was hard to keep up with having a roommate that not only were you crushing so hard on, but also had such a vibrant social life. Kaeya interacts and socializes with a lot of people and he admits that it does tend to get tiring at times. But, if these sacrifices lead to coming home to his cute roommate who has captivated his heart since Day 1, then itâs all worth it.
â Despite how warm and friendly he may seem, Kaeya is a very private person. Heâs brought two or three friends like Jean, Lisa, Albedo, or Rosaria. But, only to discuss school affairs. He wasnât the kind of person who trusts others easily, even if he was giving off the impression that he was a trustworthy and reliable person himself. Heâd much rather spend time with you on days off from school. He may be a party guy on the outside (he insists he does it for future connections when he graduates) but heâs quite a homebody. Kaeya is the type to watch korean dramas and anime with you, go on late night convenience store cravings, and these always resulted in a perfect evening spent with him. When the both of you are fully immersed into the anime and things get a bit cozy, you rest your head on his shoulder, huddling for warmth.
â Kaeya would always come home with a little something for you. May it be take-out food, A trinket, a board game, an accessory, and even skincare products. The indigo-haired man is very particular about self-care and you bet that heâs bought different kinds of face masks, ointments, and even matching cute headbands just for the two of you! Heâs very flamboyant and flirts with you a lot. Trying to impress you with pick up lines and suggestive jokes, but you always thought that he was just joking around because that was always a part of his personality. It was always a part of him. For Kaeya on the other hand, it seems to him that you donât take him seriously and it's possible that you donât return his feelings at all. He had to set things straight and it didnât take long until Kaeya found the perfect opportunity to do so.
â With the help of practically everyone in the apartment, Kaeya is about to surprise you with a candle-lit dinner up on the apartment rooftop. His sly smooth-talking quickly convinced you that the both of you were just going to go out on your nightly convenience store trips. Your curiosity grows when he takes you by the hand, covering you with a blindfold, and whispering to your ear, âDo you trust me?â Gripping onto his hand tightly, the both of you go up some stairs and you reply, âYes Kaeya, I do.â He slowly uncovers the shield from your eyes and your eyes sparkle at the sight of the candle-lit dinner, complete with jazz music, and a romantic view of the city.
â(Y/N)... You are the most precious person to me. I hope you can take me seriously, especially my feelings. I am saying this with my heart in my hand and with nothing but genuine love in my soul.â

ZHONGLI:
â Zhongli is truly husband material. Youâre saying this as his friend, as his roommate, and as someone whoâs absolutely smitten over him. Heâs a third year environmental archaeology student at Teyvat University. Gentle, kind, and has nothing but wise and intelligent things to say. your lovestruck self canât help but just admire him from afar, not knowing that he too has been entranced by you ever since you moved in.
âHe's always the first to wake up in the morning. The first thing he does is make you a cup of coffee. He's got your favorite memorized, (Coffee with cream. Not to sweet and not too bitter.) The both of you own matching mugs, (written in colored scribbled letters, âThe Wise Roommateâ for Zhongli and âThe Cute Roommateâ for you.) He always wants to spend his free mornings with you. Both of you have different schedules so you never see each other at Campus and this was the only blissful time of the day you can spend with one another. Once you get home for dinner, (Zhongli is always the first to get home if he doesnât stay too long at the library or strolling around the city) If itâs your turn to cook or if itâs his, he never forgets to brew you oolong tea after dinner. A perfect chance for the two of you to just talk the night away and engage in deep and meaningful conversations.
âZhongli fell in love with you because you just quietly listen to him. Sometimes, you would share your thoughts and insights, even sharing your own personal knowledge that Zhongli had not known prior. You were one of the very few people in his life whom he could talk about absolutely anything with. Well, who wouldnât listen to a handsome man who has a voice as smooth as butter? He is very passionate about his studies. Taking a lot of extra courses and spending a lot of money on his research. and so, most of the time, he spends all of his Mora on his extra studies (excluding the money he needs to pay for rent) and other interesting antiques. You understood why though. So, instead, you ask him to accompany you to do mundane chores. Going grocery shopping, doing the laundry and cleaning the apartment. He always helps in any way he can. The prying eyes of people around you and the old lady fr next door boldly coming up to you to ask if you and Zhongli were a married couple. You blush profusely whereas Zhongli coolly denies the woman's claims. It hurt quite a little but who were you to complain?
â It was during one of your night strolls with Zhongli. He had invited you out after dinner under the guise of wanting to have some fresh air and find a clear spot for the fireworks from a nearby festival. Your heart was thumping loudly to a non-existent rhythm, blissfully unaware that Zhongli was feeling a burst in his chest too. He clears his throat and his shoulders straighten. Zhongli puts his hand on your shoulder and breathes deeply. His cool and gentlemanly aura still radiating off of him as always. A wonderful array of colors fill the sky as his lips began to form the words he's always wanted to say:
"Tonight is beautiful isn't it? I thought that this would be the perfect time to open my heart up to you... You are a diamond in the rough that few see the beauty of. My belovedâ Will you accept my feelings?

XIAO:
â Having a popular twitch streamer as your roommate was a one in a million chance. Especially if youâre not even an influencer or internet figure yourself. But, how did this come to be? Why have you developed a crush on Xiao aka VigilantYaksha without knowing who he was? A gamer with over 6 million followers on different social media platforms? Simple, a high-end apartment near Teyvat University had a special discount if you were willing to be roommates with someone. Itâs an amazing deal, near your school, cost-efficient, and you believed the 10% chance of scoring a hot roommate as seen on reality TV and romantic comedies. It was like rolling through a Gacha Game and getting a 5 star character. As that âcharacterâ is soon to be revealed as Xiao.
â Things started off rocky at first. On your first day, he flatly welcomed you by the door, introduced himself, then quickly retreated back to his room. As soon as you locked eyes with him, he gave off a certain cold and unfriendly aura. You wanted to get to know him better. Maybe with a little love and care, he could open up to you and you could become friends! That same day, you had mistakenly thought of your room as his and you walked in on him streaming a horror game. He wasnât spooked by the jumpscares. But instead, he was looking at you in horror because youâve just exposed yourself to thousands of people. You wave at the camera, apologize, and left. Since then, his fans, (called the Anemo Tofus) have been shipping the two of you together. Creating fanfiction and fanart of Xiao and the mysterious roommate that accidentally walked in on him. They practically begged Xiao to at least talk a little bit about you, to which, he declined. When you surprised him with dinner (as a little treat since this was your first week with him) He sits across the table from you, his eyes gazing deep into yours, as he pops the question, in a very tsundere tone:Â âWould you like to appear in my streams? T-the Anemo Tofus wanna learn more about you. B-but, if you donât want to, itâs alright! You donât have to-â You cut him off before he could continue his doubts, âXiao! What are you saying? Iâd love to!â
â There was something blossoming between the two of you after that particular dinner with him. Starting with your first âroommate videoâ that you had thought of when you were brainstorming for video ideas. It was an Almond and Mapo Tofu mukbang whilst the two of you answered questions from fans! The viewers noticed how visibly comfortable he was around you despite his usual reserved attitude. He was cracking up a lot more sarcastic and self-deprecating jokes whilst Tofu filled both of your mouths. Outside of the confines of social media and inside the comfortable space that was your apartment, you and Xiao grew closer. Wearing matching hoodies, going on midnight snack runs, playing in arcades, and stargazing with him up on the rooftop as you contemplate about life and talk about the mysteries of the universe. There were times when you would stay up late doing school works and would accidentally fall asleep on the sofa. Xiao would come out of room because he periodically had cases of insomnia. When he sees you on the sofa, he canât help but smile at your sleeping figure and admire your beauty. First. he brings all your clutter back to your room then slowly picks you up from the couch, into his arms, and brings you back to your room. He places a blanket on top of you and your stuffed plushies next to you so you can hug them any time.Â
â On a particular night, you fell asleep on the sofa once again and begun to have recurring nightmares. Xiao was there to witness you whimpering, muttering to yourself, and shivering to a mental image that he could not see. (He wishes he could erase all the pain that these nightmares were giving you) You subconsciously grab onto his hand, murmuring to yourself: âXiao, please donât go.â He whispers back, âI wonât.â Your nerves slowly relax when you feel the Yaksha squeezing himself to lie next to you on the couch. Holding onto your arm, he continues to reassure you that it was going to be okay. You grab onto him, hugging him from behind. He feels your heartbeat revert back to itâs normal pace and you return back to your peaceful slumber. âIâll always be here for you, (Y/N). Iâll be here to protect you. Forever and always.â Turning to you to plant a kiss on your forehead, you nestle your head on Xiaoâs chest. He watches as you cling to him for love and warmth until he is slowly whisked away by his weariness, rewarded with a peaceful sleep he hasnât felt in a while.

âAnd they were roommates.â

Hey, Lari đ On a whim, I was having a daydream and I kept thinking about that one Summer Event scenario I requested (which was so lovely and sweet, I love how you write modern! AU and Katakuri overall 𼺠) so here I am again, in your ask box wanting to write a request đ Iâm not sure if itâs still open but Iâd like to make a second request if I could? â¤ď¸ May I please request Katakuri x Fem!reader + amusement park + prompt 6 + SFW modern!AU? Thank you so much! đĽş
savannaaaah my loveee! i was thinking about a plot since yesterday, i had ideas but kept starting over omg but i hope you like it! some kata fluff is good for the heart! plus, mochi man needs a break â¤â¤
Katakuri wasnât the kind of person who loved going to amusement parks. Once in a while he had to go, only because his mom told him to take his younger siblings, but that was pretty much the only time. Being around that many people, with that theme song playing on repeat and people screaming during the rides werenât his favorite thing in the world. The man liked quiet places, but he would never say ânoâ to you. The way your eyes were shining and the way you were smiling when you noticed the park made Katakuriâs heart skip a beat. And when your soft voice asked âplease, can we go?â were enough for him.
Thatâs how you both ended up walking around the amusement park, you holding a pink cotton candy. Pointing at all the rides you wanted to go. The way you were smiling, full of genuine happiness and excitement, made Katakuri feel butterflies in his stomach. It was still such a foreign feeling, something he never expected to feel. However, whenever he was with you, he wanted to feel more of it.
He wanted to feel the butterflies, to feel his cheeks getting warm whenever you placed a kiss on his cheek, whenever you offered him a dessert you made because you knew he liked it. The man never knew he could experience love and affection. He never thought he deserved to be loved like this, and never thought someone could love and accept him, but ever since you two met, he couldnât get enough of your kindness, love and affection.
Katakuri was lost in thoughts, right behind you, heading towards the Ferris Wheel. It was even romantic, especially with the sunset decorating the background. The sky was a beautiful mixture of orange, light pink and almost no clouds. It felt like destiny was trying to make this date as perfect as possible.
When you entered the cabin, you rested your head on his shoulder waiting for the ride to start, while holding the stuffed animal he got you at the shooting booth, thanks to his perfect aim. One of his arms was wrapped around your shoulders while both of you looked at the view. All the people almost disappearing from your sight and the park rides looking so tiny from afar.
It was nice to see your boyfriend relaxed, having a time off from work and his busy schedule working with his family, having a nice time and relaxing as you placed a kiss on his shoulder. You couldnât help staring at him as if he was the most beautiful and precious person on this Earth. And honestly, he was.
You only realized you were staring when Katakuri broke the silence.
â Why do you have that loving look on your face, my sweet girl? â Katakuri asked, smiling softly while caressing your cheek with his thumb. He still wasnât used to your âheart eyesâ looking at him.
At first, you shrugged, not really knowing what to say. There was no reason other than simply âbecause of youâ. He kept looking, maybe still waiting for your answer.
â Because I fell for you, isnât it obvious? â you smiled, looking at him as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. â Iâll always look at you with this âloving lookâ, I wouldnât know any other way to look at you.
Katakuri hid his face under his crimson scarf, trying his best to hide his pink dusted cheeks. The man wasnât waiting for such a spontaneous, yet sweet answer. You let out a snicker, making yourself comfortable against his chest, wanting to enjoy the few minutes you had left on the Ferris Wheel.
â You make my life better. I love you, Kata. â you whispered, interlocking your fingers with his.
â I love you too, sweet girl. Thank you for being in my life.

I've got good news, and good news! Comet the Suicune has finally been purified, my hands are safe! I will admit I flinched (and started mentally writing a eulogy for my left arm) when she went straight for my arm, but she just wanted to guide me by the sleeve to a loose patch of dirt so she could call me a weeb by writing it with her paws.
Yes, the very first thing Comet did upon being purified was call me a weeb. All because I like a Kantonian singer! And I bought all of her albums. And I named Comet as an oblique reference to said singer. Anyway, I asked her if this meant she wanted me to call her something else, and she said no. So, I mean, if she recognized that oblique reference, and likes being named after her, then, really, who is the bigger weeb here?
Don't tell Comet I said that, or she'll surf me into the next lake we pass by.
I've also been hard at work purifying the other shadow pokemon I got, and they've been significantly easier to work with. I even evolved a now purified slowpoke, and taught him some new moves.
Even better, some of the cipher grunts have started to recognize me, and I've even had one refuse to battle me and try to run away - fortunately, my slowbro knows block. Granted, being hated by a team wouldn't usually bode very well for my survival, but they're already after me for two other reasons, so I might as well be even more of a nuisance while I can.
That being said, I still want out of this mess. I can't book any ferries out of the region (thanks Orre legal system), but I managed to stow away on one and was almost on my way to Hoenn, but the moment I told Comet why we were on that boat, she dragged me not just out of my hiding place, but out of the boat while it was leaving the harbour, and dumped me at a nearby beach. We had a little heart-to-heart, and, as it turns out, she is not willing to just let me go on my own and stay in Orre, or help me find someone more qualified to sort this mess out, or hide out somewhere until it all blows over.
No, she wants me, me specifically not someone else, to free her two siblings, Entei and Raikou, and purify them. I honestly can't blame her for wanting that, but I still don't think I'm up to the task. Then again, legendary pokemon are supposed to be great judges of character, right? Maybe she is right about me, and I need to be more confident in my abilities.

Sisters- Teen Titans x Aquagirl Reader
Masterlist
Summary: You don't get along well with your own siblings, but maybe you'll get along well with Starfire's super-cool, definitely-not-evil sister!
Pairings: Platonic! Starfire x reader
Word Count: 3575
A/N: Hey guys!!! Sorry for posting this so late I just did this one a lot slower lol. Unfortunately, school's starting soon so I won't be able to write as often. I'm still working on 2 fics so keep that in mind if you want to request!
Carnivals were the best invention in the world, you decided. The rides, the food, the games, and you only get to enjoy it a few times a year. So when the carnival does come to visit, you always make sure to enjoy it as much as you can.
âDonât you just lovvvveee carnivals?â You say, walking next to Raven.
âWell, Beast Boy and Cyborg have been trying to win an animal from a single game for the past hour and Robin and Starfire are probably making out on the ferris wheel, so not as much as you.â she says, staring straight ahead. The others had paired up and set off when you first entered the carnival, so that left you with Raven. And as much as you love Raven, you love her in a âmeditating/book clubâ way, not a âfun adventureâ way. You approached the two boys as they finally won their carnival game prize.
âTold you weâd win a prizeâ Beast Boy grinned at Raven, holding a toy chicken to her face.
âA giant chicken. I must be the luckiest girl in the world.â She said sarcastically.
Suddenly, Robin jumped in front of the four of you.
âTitans! Trouble!â He yelled, standing up from a crouching position.
âWhereâs Starfire?â Cyborg asked.
âThat's the trouble,â Robin said, then promptly took off. The four of you followed him close behind. He brings the four of you to a dock, where you finally see the âtroubleâ Robin was talking about. Starfire was being chased by a flying, squid-like space robot with tentacles and everything. She flies past the five of you, the flying machine doing the same.
âWhoâs her new best friend?â Beast Boy asks, staring at the scene before you.
âDonât know, but I canât wait to meet him,â Robin said.
Starfire hid behind you as the flying machine continued to follow her. Beast Boy turned into an alligator and tried to attack the robotic squid, but missed. You tried to hit it with jets of water, but it bounced off of its exterior. Raven threw a hot dog cart at the machine with her telekinesis, but it simply tore straight through the cart. Cyborg grabbed onto the tentacles and strained as the machine tried to get away.
âDon't know what you did to make this thing mad, Star, but it couldn't hurt to apologize!â Cyborg yelled, trying to keep a grip on the tentacles.
âI am⌠sorry?â Starfire apologizes confusingly, taking shelter behind a grimacing Robin.
Cyborg loses grip on the mysterious space squid as Robin jumps forward. He hits the machine hard with his staff and it falls into the water. A moment of silence falls onto the six of you.
âSo, did we just win?â Beast Boy asked.
His answer came in the form of the machine crashing through the floor and back into the sky. Robin jumps onto it.
âDonât see an OFF switch,â He yells. âGuess Iâll have to make one!â He punches into the side of the machine. The machine goes haywire, and Robin jumps off of it before it flies crazily into the sky and blows up. Since there were already fireworks, any regular citizens could have easily mistaken it for one of the big finals. You turned your attention to Starfire.
âStarfire, are you alright?â you ask. She nodded with a small smile.
âWhatever that thing was, it canât hurt you now.â Robin said, now next to her again.
Starfire frowned. âBut⌠why did it wish to hurt me at all?â
.
You found yourself back in the tower after such an eventful night. Despite being attacked by some alien machine, Starfire seemed to be in a cheery mood.
âI shall thank you for my rescue by reciting the Poem of Gratitude, all six thousand verses.â She said, a giant smile on her face. You and the others stopped dead in your tracks, not excited for how the rest of the night will seem to go.
âI think âthank youâ cuts it,â You say.
Suddenly, you hear a voice. âI see you havenât changed a bit.â The voice belonged to a girl who bore a striking resemblance to Starfire. She had long, black hair, and wore a black outfit similar to Starfire, except hers had more metal components. The mystery girl continued.
âWhen we were little, I was always rescuing Starfire.â
âSister!â Starfire squealed, running to hug her. Starfireâs sister smiled, holding up a necklace with a large green gem as the pendant.
âA Centauri Moon Diamond?? Where did you get-â
âOn the Centauri Moons of course.â the sister said, fastening the necklace around Starfireâs neck. âOh look, it matches your eyes.â Starfire smiled brightly. You remember that youâve been staring at the two of them interacting when she turns to the five of you.
âI wish to introduce my big sister,â Starfire said. Her sister stepped in front of her.
âBlackfire,â she said. â And since Star told me all about the Titans in her transmissions, let me guess.â She walks over to Cyborg.
âCyborg,â She guessed correctly.
âPleased to meet you little lady,â Cyborg says, holding out his hand. She takes it and you hear the sound of metal bending. Cyborg holds up his hand, now bent out of shape.
âLittle lady, big handshake. Well alright!â he says with a smile. Blackfire moves on.
âRaven. I like that gemstone on your Ajna chakra,â Blackfire says.
âYou know about chakras?â Raven asked, mildly impressed.
âI got way into meditation on Altara Prime.â She says casually. She then turned to you.
âAquagirl. Oh my god your outfit is soooo cute! And your hair, how do you get it so healthy?â She said, clasping your hands. Her voice was nothing like Starfireâs; it was much smoother, and more confident, not to mention she had the American accent down.
âMix of coconut oil, avocado, and a cabinet full of hair ointmentsâ you wink.
âYouâll have to give me tips.â she winked back.
She continued her introductions, finally getting to Robin. She was all over him, complimenting his outfit, calling his mask âmysteriousâ, etc. You saw Starfire steaming with anger, even if she didnât show it. She intercepted them as Blackfire got close to his face.
âSo beloved sister, what brings you to Earth?â Starfire asks, an annoyed grin spread across her face.
âI was in the quadrant. Thought I'd see if Earthlings like to party.â She said, hopping onto the couch. âBesides, I needed a rest. Nearly got sucked into a black hole on the way here.â Immediately, the three boys rushed over to her, the three of you girls still behind them. You rolled your eyes at the sight of the three teens crowding around Blackfire.
âBlack hole?â
âNo way!â
âCoolâ
You could feel Blackfireâs smirk as she began her story.
âOkay. Iâm cruising through Draconis Nebula and-â
Starfire interrupted. âSister! That nebula is full of black holes! You know travel there is forbidden.â The four teens on the couch stared at her.
âMost fun things in life are. Now be a sweetie and bring me one of those sodas I've heard so much about.â Blackfire waved at her and turned back to the boys. You heard her continue the story, but all you could focus on was Starfire grumbling towards the fridge. You look at Raven; your way of saying Ill go after her.
You find Starfire taking a soda can out of the fridge, talking to herself.
âStarfire?â you ask. She flinches at your approach, almost dropping the soda in her hand.
âOh! Aquagirl. You have caught me off guard, my apologies,â she rubs her neck, blushing.
âYou alright? You seemed a little worked up back there,â you say as the teen straightened herself up.
âOh it's nothing, it's just thatâŚâ she sighed, closing the refrigerator. âMy sister has always acted in such a way that can cause me to feel⌠annoyed.â
âOh well, if you ever want to talk about it, Iâm always here.â She hugs you, still holding the can of soda.
âThank you my friendâ
.
The next day, You were sitting in your room. Starfire barged in while you were rubbing the water from your head with your towel.
âOh hey Starfire! What's up?â you smile, putting the towel onto your bed.
âAquagirl! Have you seen Blackfire?â she asked. You noticed that she seemed distressed, but decided to answer her question first.
âOh! We just went surfing! She crushed those waves!â You say, reminiscing. She was surprisingly good at surfing, especially since she told you it was her first time. Starfire frowned.
âOh. alright.â you frowned back at her answer.
âWell, I think she might be with Robin right now. Is everything alright?â you ask. Her face turns bright red at the mention of Robinâs name.
âN- I mean, yes! Everything is alright. I must go.â She slammed the door before you could say anything. You wanted to go after her, but you figured since she left so quickly, she's probably not in the mood to talk. You went about your day, still a little worried about her.
.
Nighttime fell, and you sat on the couch with the other Titans, relaxing after an uneventful day. Starfire skipped in holding popcorn, candy, and a bunch of CDs.
âFriends! I invite you to join me in the togetherness of a stay-home movie night. I bring you popcorn and non-cotton candies. Tell me, what sort of movie shall we view?â
âAction,â said Robin.
âRomance!â you cheered.
âComedy.â spat Beast Boy.
âSci-fiâ Cyborg offered.
âHorror.â Raven said flatly. Starfire drops her goodies.
âPerhaps a double feature?â she asked.
âForget the flicks, kids.â You looked up to see Blackfire, now dressed in Starfireâs clothes. âWeâre going out!â
âWe are? Where did you- How did you-â Starfire stuttered, obviously confused by her sisterâs new look.
âHeard about a party downtown,â Blackfire continued, ignoring her sister. âCool crowd, hot musicâ
âSoundâs nice!â you say.
âYeah!â Beast Boy agrees.
âIâm in!â Cyborg says.
âWhy not?â Robin smiles. Raven kept looking at her book.
âAnd it's in an abandoned warehouse,â Blackfire adds. Raven looked up from her book, her way of saying that she's in. You all began to leave. You noticed Starfire still standing where she was, looking a bit sadder.
âStarfire? you coming?â you asked, walking by her.
âOh um, I guess I will go,â she said, hanging her head a bit. You looked at her but she didnât meet your eyes. Maybe sheâs tired, you thought, walking to catch up with the other titans.
.
You entered the party, taking in the colorful lights and dancing teens. You followed Blackfire onto the dance floor, who seemed to already be dancing.
âStep aside Earthlings, the queen of the galaxy has arrived!â she cheered, swaying her hips with the other teens. She looks at the rest of you, a smirk on her face.
âNow don't tell me you big tough superheroes are afraid of a little dancing.â she says, beckoning you to do so. The boys joined in, and you noticed that Raven left the dance floor with a boy. The only people who werenât dancing were you and Starfire. Starfire looked scared, she was clutching her new necklace, and you swore that she said something about shovels. You came up to her and took her hand.
âLetâs go Starfire, I think you need some air.â you say, leading her to the stairwell.
You sat next to her on the roof, both awkwardly silent.
âSo, what's wrong?â you finally say.
âItâs my sister again,â she sighs. âIt feels as though she has stolen you all from me, and I donât know how to keep that from happening.â
âHey. weâll always be your friends, just as youâll be ours. And she didnât steal us from you, we just thought she was cool and all-â you were cut off by a yell from the part below.
âYO A.G.!!! YOU GOTTA COME DOWN HERE!!!â Cyborg yelled. You looked at the direction of the sound and then back at Starfire, who was staring at the ground.
âOh- uh they probably need me, Iâll be right back,â You say, rubbing her arm. âHANG ON I'LL BE THERE IN A SEC!â
You race down to the dance floor and see Cyborg dancing.
âYO THEYâRE TOTALLY PLAYING YOUR SONG!â he yelled. Ugh I should get back to Starfire but they are totally playing my song, you thought. You look at Cyborg again, who was waving at you to join him. You see Robin next to you and pull him aside.
âHey Aquagirl! Whereâs Starfire?â He asked. You cross your arms.
âSheâs upstairs on the roof. Listen, sheâs super down in the dumps right now, I think you should talk to her.â You say. He nods and leaves, heading towards the stairs. You sigh as you go back to join your other friends. You bump into Blackfire, who was now sporting a neon pink wig.
âUm, nice wig,â you say.
âThanks hot stuff. Whereâs Robin? I saw you with him earlier.â She asked, still dancing. You werenât sure if it was the best idea to tell her.
âHeâs uhhhhhhhâŚ.â you try to stall.
â... with Starfire.â she finishes. You turn to see her staring through the glass roof, where you could see Robin and Starfire sitting together. She turns to the rest of you.
âOne sec guys!â She winks. Less than a minute goes by and she reappears with Robin. You make eye contact; he seemed annoyed by being back here.
âWe HAVE to dance to this song!â she says, starting to dance again next to Robin. He steps away from her.
âSorry, but Iâm going to check on Starfire again.â Robin says, heading to the stairwell again. Blackfire follows him, trying to get him to return, leaving you with Cyborg and Beast Boy. They continue to dance and you roll your eyes.
Suddenly, you notice Starfire fighting something. You squint at her location, then realize that what she's attacking is one of the robots from yesterday. You look at the two boys whoâve quite literally been dancing the whole time.
âCyborg! Beast Boy! Starfireâs in trouble!â You yell, already running towards the exit. Suddenly, another of those robots appears out of nowhere.
âWhat the- AHHHHH!!!!â you scream as the robot latches onto you and drags you away. The two boys try to follow you but a third robot attacks them, leaving you to still be stuck in the clutches of the space robot. You see Raven hanging out with the boy from earlier (theyâd be a cute couple huh) and she spots you. She flies after you, flinging two robots towards the machine as you finally break free. Starfire crashes into the room through the ceiling and lands in the crates, Cyborg and Beast Boy still taking on the other robot.
All three of the robots start chasing Starfire, and she flies around the room trying to lose them. Cyborg knocks into them and lays some punches, you trying to short circuit them by spraying them with water. One of the robots hits Cyborg, sending him flying into a wall. Another one sends Starfire flying into a different wall, and she lands in a dumpster. You run to the hole in the wall to find the aliens trying to bring the whole dumpster into the air. You were about to try to strike them when you saw a flash- the flash of a birdarang. It cuts into the arms of the robot and drops the container. Robin joins the rest of you.
âTitans Go!â Robin yells, but Blackfire flies out in front of you. In a matter of seconds she demolished all three robots. You all surrounded her as she stood victoriously.
âAw yeah! Good times!â
âNice shot, Tex!â
âVery nice.â
âCouldnât have said it better myself!â
âHow did you know where to hit them?â Robin asked.
âLucky guess,â Blackfire shrugged. Cyborg stepped forward.
âWe could use luck like that,â he said. âMaybe you oughta join the team.â
âMe? A teen titan?â Blackfire asked, obviously flattered. You couldnât help but notice Starfire looking away, a defeated look on her face. I should talk to her again, you decided.
.
You and Robin found Starfire standing on the roof of the Titans Tower. You found out that you both had the idea of finishing up your conversations, but it seemed that Starfire had different plans. You reach her as she floats into the air.
âWere you going to leave without saying goodbye?â Robin asked, causing her to whip around to face the two of you.
âA little rude if you ask me,â you tried to joke, but she didnât laugh. Her head hanging, she slowly landed back on the roof, taking off the backpack she was wearing.
âAquagirl, Robin, I- '' She began, but was cut off by the sound of a spaceship coming towards you. One of the aliens on board unleashes its arm, which is a tentacle much like one of the robotâs, and slashes you and Robin, sending you both to the ground. It then wraps around Starfire, pulling her into the ship.
Robin runs towards the screaming Starfire and jumps from the roof and towards the ship. You watch in horror as he misses, and begins the fall towards the ground. The ship continues its ascent into the air.
âROBIN!â you scream, running towards the edge of the Towerâs roof. You can do this, you can do this, you can-
You focused hard, and raised your arms above you. A geyser of water shoots up from the shore and catches Robin. You raised the geyser up towards the hull of the spaceship, allowing the Boy Wonder to grab onto the bottom and make his way up. Seeing that he made it safely on board, you dropped the geyser of water.
You fell to your knees, breathing heavily. You havenât made such a strong geyser in, well, never! Your vision was blurring as Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven all rushed onto the roof.
âAquagirl! What happened?â Cyborg asked, helping you up.
âStarfire⌠Spaceship⌠Robin⌠I helpedâŚâ you huffed, pointing towards the spaceship, which was now far away from the tower.
âWe gotta catch up to them. But how?â Beast Boy said, staring at the silhouette in the distance.
âFollow my lead.â Raven said, grabbing on to Beast Boy and Cyborg, who was holding into you. You watched as she made a dark portal in front of you. She pulled the three of you through it and you found yourself in the outskirts of the city, next to mountains and a river. You see Starfire and Robin up ahead, in front of a now toppled over spaceship.
âStarfire! Robin!â Beast Boy yelled as you caught up to them.
âAre you alright?â Cyborg asked. Suddenly, you see two aliens emerge from the shipwreck.
âTitans! Get ready!â he said, assuming a fighting stance, which you follow. You wait tensely as the aliens approach you.
âIn the name of the Grand Centauri Empire, you are all under arrest.â one of the aliens says, showing off a professional looking police badge. You stare at it. If they're police, why are they arresting us? And why are we fighting them?
âUh⌠you canât be the good guys. Weâre the good guys.â Beast Boy says, just as confused as you are.
âAnd we are the Centauri Police,â the second alien repeats.
âThe Tamaranean girl is a liar and a thief.â the first police alien says, pointing at Starfire. âShe's committed high crimes throughout the entire Centauri system.â
âI have never even been to the Centauri moons!â Starfire pleaded.
Suddenly everything clicked. The necklace, the events at the carnival, the events at the party. All evidence seemed to have pointed to Starfire, but they actually pointed at another person.
âBut I know someone who has.â you and Robin say at the same time. You look at each other, obviously aware of who the other was thinking.
Blackfire.
.
Robin took off Starfireâs necklace for her and threw it aside. He faced the police aliens.
âYouâve been chasing the wrong girl. Whereâs Blackfire?â Robin says. Before any of the other Titans could answer, you saw a figure flying through the sky.
âThat Bitch!â you yelled, watching Blackfire make an escape.
âDonât worry Star, she won't get away with this,â Robin says to Starfire, but her eyes are already glowing.
âNo she will not!â she yells, and shoots off into the sky. You couldnât see much, but there were flashes of bright green and purple in the sky. The Centauri police calmly rebalanced their ship and restarted it, its engine humming to life.
You then watched as they proceeded to fly up into the sky and capture Blackfire, similar to how they initially captured Starfire, and fly off into the night. You stared dumbfounded.
"What just happened?"
.
The next morning, you stood in front of the kitchen, making pancakes with Cyborg.
âCrazy what happened last night, huh?â you yawned, watching the pancakes sizzle on the stove.
âNo kidding,â he said. âShe wouldâve made a great addition to the team, except for the intergalactic-criminal part.â You laughed, flipping the rest of the pancakes.
You climbed up to the roof, finding Robin and Starfire sitting together. God theyâre probably being cheesy together you thought. You cleared your throat, the two of them jumping at your presence.
âHey you two,â you winked. âBreakfast is ready!!!â

My Trip to Japan
Here's the write-up, with lots of photos. Enjoy!
Ok so I was gonna write a whole lot, but that was exhausting so I'm gonna mainly show off some photos.
First off, here's the view from our hotel room. We went to a place in Ota City - a little ways out from Tokyo but close to the airport, which was convenient.
It was a nice little area. Quiet, with lots of businesses around. We mainly got food from the nearby Family Mart - konbini food is really good. For the price (cheap), it was a good place to stay.
The Places I Went
We didn't end up going to too many tourist spots because the weather was pretty bad, but there were a couple places I want to highlight.
Enoshima

We went to Enoshima as my older sibling wanted to visit the shrine (as seen in Bocchi the Rock) to pray at.
We did not, unfortunately, learn the lesson conveyed by Bocchi, namely that there were a shitload of stairs.
A metric fuckload of stairs.
Way too many stairs.
Fortunately it had a ferry at the end of the walking course that took us back to the mainland cause otherwise holy shit the stairs would kill us (real).
Tokyo Tower
The number 1 obvious tourist destination! We didn't end up going to the top, partially because the lines were too long, and partially because I have acrophobia. Still, it was really cool seeing it - I had no idea of the sheer scale of it.
Also there was a cool temple with a lot of cherry blossoms nearby. Neat.
I didn't get any good photos of the cherry blossoms because of the weather, but rest assured that they were pretty.
Cat Cafe

We also went to a cat cafe in Akihabara. There were lots of cats. Look at them.
Most of them were very sleepy, which is fair tbh.
The Things I Ate
While I was overseas, I posted pictures of each day's breakfast on my Twitter (follow me if you want who cares), and I just wanted to highlight some of the favourite things I had here.
Melonpan and Boss Coffee! This was the first meal I had in Japan. Melonpan is a very sweet and tasty pastry, precisely as anime informed me it would be. Boss Coffee ended up being our main source of caffeine, as there was a vending machine near the hotel that sold a few varieties. They had a collab going with Umamusume, but I don't know anything about that series honestly. Other than that it's about horses???
Dango~ I bought this in a Lawson inside Tokyo Tower. I really like the consistency of dango - just the right balance of soft and chewy.
Takoyaki (I didn't get any good photos oops so here is clip art)! It was not at all like how I expected. I had it a few times at karaoke, and some from a supermarket. Some of the karaoke stuff had cheese in it which really brought it together deliciously. The supermarket stuff was less good, obviously, but it was edible.
Iconic. I did not play the Pocky game.
(Ignore the melonpan and Boss coffee, I don't have a problem) The onigiri was one of my favourite foods to get. Lots of variety in fillings, nice and cheap - a perfect meal honestly. I really need to get some sushi vinegar and make some of my own.
The kinoko vs takenoko chocolate debate. Tbh, they both taste pretty much the same - it's more a debate over texture and mouthfeel. My preference is the mushrooms honestly - I just like the balance of wafer and chocolate better. Both are good though.
My favourite meal would have to be the bowl of pork ramen I had. It was so good, the quality of the noodles was something that I've never seen in Australia - a meal I can't imagine being able to get outside of a hyper specialized (read: expensive) business here. 10/10 would eat again.
The Stuff I Bought
We went to karaoke with the gang to watch HoloFes, and ended up getting some exclusive stuff in the Joysound-Hololive collab.
Also bought some idol cards that came with some little chocolate wafers that only kinda made me want to throw-up.
Finally, I picked up a lot of books. Some manga, of course. I thought I was getting Vol 1 of Bocchi the Rock, but this is actually the Anthology - which is also pretty cool. Also Vol 1 of Chainsaw Man, 'cause why not.

I also got the Winter 2022 edition of the Jojo Magazine - because that seemed like a pretty cool thing to get imho. My camera recognizes Jolyne as a real human face, which is a little disconcerting.

I wanted to find a Mika Pikazo art book, or some Pixiv art collections, but this was the only art book I managed to find. It's pretty cool though!
That's basically all the stuff I got though. I don't usually get much in the way of merch, it's not really my thing, but I felt like it'd be a waste to not buy anything while I was there.
The Thoughts I Had
Overall, it was a great experience! It was amazing seeing how different things were from Australia. Especially the rail system, which differs from Australia's through sheer virtue of actually existing. The food was great, such high quality for an affordable price.
It was great seeing things that I actually recognized on display in Akihabara (read: weeb stuff), like it was the first time that I really comprehended that my interests were things that existed in the real world. Sorry if that doesn't make sense - really I just want to make clear that it expanded my horizons.
If you get the chance to, I definitely reccomend going to Tokyo. I am for sure going back one day. There is plenty more for me to see and experience, so much left undone and forgotten. I will return!

When you woke up, Aaron was already gone. There was a note on his pillow, and you stretched as you reached over for it.Â
Jack and I are off for our hike at Maryland Heights. Weâll be back sometime in the late morning/ early afternoon. We wonât have service until weâre back down the mountain - donât be nervous if you donât hear from us.Â
Weâll swing by to pick everyone up so we can go visit H all together. Iâll call when weâre an hour out.Â
I love you.Â
A
You held the note to your chest for a moment before slipping it into the manila envelope in your bedside drawer. You kept all of Aaronâs little notes - post-its from work, little things in your go bag, notes from mornings like this. They brought an absurd amount of joy to you, and he kept writing them, so you kept keeping them. You werenât even sure if he knew you kept them, but you supposed some little fun secrets were good for a marriage every once and a while.Â
Isaac was already up - your sweet boy, with a bowl of cereal in his lap and cartoons on.Â
âGood morning, my love,â you said to him as you passed, kissing him on the head.Â
He wiggled in his seat. âHi, momma.âÂ
You continued into the kitchen, making yourself a cup of (already brewed) coffee. âHow long have you been up?â
âI woke up when Jack and Daddy were getting ready, but I couldnât fall back to sleep so Daddy put the TV on and put cereal where I could reach it and told me I was only allowed to wake you up if there was a fire or someone got hurt.âÂ
You huffed a laugh at his matter-of-fact tone - imitating Aaron beat for beat. âIs that so?â
He nodded.Â
You returned with your coffee mug and planted yourself next to Isaac on the couch.Â
âMomma?â He asked, after a little while.Â
âMhmm?â You set your coffee down on the table and tucked your legs up under you, facing him.Â
âWhatâs Haley Day?âÂ
You opened your arms to him, and he put his cereal down and curled into you. âCan we talk about Haley Day when Dad and Jack get home?âÂ
He nodded and you pressed a kiss into his dark hair.Â
+++
The boys leisurely hiked the path in relative silence, enjoying both each otherâs company and the scenery.Â
âHow are you, Dad?â Jack asked, after a while.Â
âIâm good, bud.â He thought about it for a moment and laughed lightly to himself. âIâm really good, actually.âÂ
A small smile crossed Jackâs face. âThatâs good.âÂ
âWhat are you thinking about over there?â Aaron said, noting the pensive expression on his sonâs face. It was odd - it was a little like looking in the mirror, but Jack would pull these faces that were so Haley. It had startled Aaron more than once.Â
âWho says Iâm thinking about anything?âÂ
âI can hear you thinking.âÂ
Jack rolled his eyes. âFuckinâ profiler.âÂ
âExcuse me?â Aaron laughed. He was a stickler for language around the little ones, but he knew Jack swore like a sailor when he was out of the house.Â
âI said, fuckinâ profiler.â Jack tutted. âLooks like your hearing is failing you in your advanced age, old man.âÂ
Aaron pointed at him, eyebrows raised. âWatch it.âÂ
After a moment, they both broke, laughing out loud. They quieted after a minute, walking a little closer together.Â
âIâm just thinking about mom - Haley,â he clarified. âIt kind of hit me this morning howâŚmuch that all was.â He looked at Aaron, brown eyes curious. âAre you okay, Dad?â
One side of Aaronâs mouth pulled up. âIâm alright. It was really hard for a while, but it gets easier to carry. I know you donât remember, but youâre old enough now to know that the year before Haley died was...not great. Thatâs what I had the hardest time handling.âÂ
âThe divorce, right?â Jackâs head dropped as he looked at his feet, still marching confidently up the rock-lined path. Aaron was suddenly grateful, deeply so, for the gift of his son.Â
âYeah. Certainly not a shining moment for either one of us, but I think she made the right choice. She was stronger than me by a long shot, and always managed to do what had to be done.âÂ
Jack hummed thoughtfully, and Aaron knew he could take what came next.Â
âWhen she was killed, I had to grapple with the idea that she died angry at me.â Aaron looked up, letting the dappled light from the trees strike his face.Â
âI donât think so.âÂ
âWhat do you mean?â
Jack kept his eyes up, trained on the path, as he spoke. âI think thatâs an easy way to feel guilty, but she didnât die mad at you, Dad. Aunt Emily told me how brave you were, how you talked to her until you couldnât anymore.âÂ
Aaron opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted.Â
âDonât be upset with Em. I asked and she told. Not her fault.â Jack pulled a mouthful of water from his pack before he continued. âI think she wanted you to know how much she loved you, you know? Like, Emily told me she reminded you to not be so serious all the time and to tell me stories about how much fun you guys had when you were young and cool.â He shot a smirk over to Aaron, who rolled his eyes with a smile. Jack squinted into the middle distance. âWere you mad at her that day?â
âNo,â Aaron answered quickly. âNot at all.âÂ
âWhat were you, then?â
âScared.âÂ
âHer too, probably.â Jackâs tone was simple, as if it was the easiest thing in the world to understand. Maybe it was. âYou made her feel less scared and you kept calm, even when you were probably more scared than youâve ever been in your whole life. I only remember her a little, but I think sheâd love you for that, donât you?â
Aaron was quiet for a moment, just looking at Jack as they walked. âWhen did you get so smart, kid?â
Jack shrugged. âYou didnât answer the question.âÂ
Yep. Heâs my son.Â
He couldnât help the smile that pulled at his mouth as he retorted, âYouâre right, I didnât.âÂ
Jack crossed the path to bump his fatherâs shoulder. They were almost the same height, and Aaron imagined Jack would pass him up by the end of the year. âI love you, Dad.âÂ
âI love you too, Jack.â He reached up to ruffle Jackâs hair, but he ducked away just in time.Â
âCâmon, man.âÂ
Aaron scoffed. âYou are your motherâs son - that much is certain.âÂ
âWhich one?â Jack asked with a grin.Â
After a moment of thought, Aaron huffed another laugh and said, âUnfortunately, both.âÂ
Jackâs grin softened. âYou miss her, donât you?â
âI do. But guess what?â
His brow furrowed.Â
âYou remind me of her so much sometimes itâs like sheâs right here with us, you know that?âÂ
This time, Jack let his father muss the hair on top of his head. âReally?âÂ
Aaron nodded. âAll the time.â Then again, under his breath. âAll the time.âÂ
+++
Aaron called you around noon on the way back from Harperâs Ferry. âWeâll be home in about 45 minutes - traffic isnât bad at all and weâre just now at the state line.âÂ
âSounds good, honey. Iâll start the ball rolling with the girls.âÂ
You could hear a pair of chuckles on the other end of the line and perhaps a muttered âGood luck with that shit.â
Language, Jack Hotchner.Â
Chewing on your lower lip, you added, âAlso, Isaac asked. I think itâs time - for him, at least.âÂ
âAlright. Weâll go sit on the porch when I get home. Jack, are you good helping the girls get ready?âÂ
âFor sure,â Jackâs assent sounded a little distant, but it made you smile. Â
+++
You and Aaron settled on the porch swing with Isaac on your lap. Aaron held out his hands palm-up, and Isaac rested his little fingers on Aaronâs.Â
Aaron closed his hands around Isaacâs, holding his attention. It was something you two had established early on with the kids: when Dad holds both of your hands, look at him and listen.Â
âMom told me you asked about Haley Day today.âÂ
Isaac nodded.Â
âBefore I tell you what Haley Day means, I want to remind you that Mom and I love all four of you exactly the same, okay?âÂ
Isaac nodded.Â
âAlright, bud.â Aaron took a deep breath, and you smiled at him over Isaacâs head. âYou know how you and Sophia and Caroline came out of Mommaâs tummy?â
Little brown eyes looked back at you and you nodded encouragingly.Â
âYes.â
âYou know how Mom and I are married and wear these rings and live together?â
He nodded.Â
âAnd of course you know Aunt Jessica, right?â
A smile broke out across Isaacâs face as he nodded again.Â
âBefore I was married to your mom, I was married to Haley. Haley is Aunt Jessicaâs sister, and Jack came out of Haleyâs tummy before your mom and I met.â
There was a little bit of confusion splashed across Isaacâs face. âSo Momma isnât Jackâs momma?âÂ
You put your hands on his shoulders, and he looked up at you. âNot everyone is like you and me, bud. You came out of my tummy and Iâm also your mom, but some peopleâs moms arenât the same person they came out of. Does that make sense?â You were going to continue, but you closed your mouth.Â
We arenât going to start the ânot everyone has a momâ conversation today. Baby steps.Â
âSo youâre still Jackâs mom, too?â
âYes, sir,â you said with a smile. âBut at the same time, Haley is also Jackâs mom. So he kind of has two moms, which is also a normal thing for some families. Iâm whatâs technically called a step-mom.âÂ
He nodded sagely and said, âSome of my friends at school have step-moms,â but then his face fell into almost comical confusion. âWhere did Haley go?âÂ
You gestured to Aaron and Isaac whirled around. Aaronâs eyes flickered back to yours, and you returned his gaze with soft eyes.Â
Aaron took another breath before speaking again. âHaley died when Jack was four - just a little younger than you are now - and so itâs really important for Jack and me to have Haley Day so we can remember her and spend time together. Today is her forty-ninth birthday, and sometimes birthdays of people who died are really hard.â He swallowed, and his eyes misted over. He looked up at you.Â
Itâs okay. Donât hide from your son. Itâs okay.Â
He blinked rapidly, and a few tears fell. Tears pricked at your eyes as well as Isaac scrambled off your lap and into Aaronâs.Â
âMom said that people who have died canât come back and you canât see them anymore. Is that true?â He asked.Â
Aaron wrapped one arm around Isaac and placed his other hand on your knee. You grabbed it right away, holding him tight. âYeah, bud. Momâs right.â
âDo you miss her? Sometimes I miss my friends who moved and I canât see them anymore.âÂ
Aaron laughed and squeezed Isaac tight to his chest. âI do miss her. Itâs a lot like when your friends move away. She was one of my best friends.â
âIs Mom one of your best friends?â
You brushed tears off your cheeks with your fingers and grinned at Aaron.Â
âYes. Your mom is one of my best friends,â he said with a smile that matched yours. âAnd Mom knew Haley, too and they were friends. There are a lot of pictures of Haley and Jack and me and Mom on the bookshelf in the living room, but theyâre a little high up for you to see them. I can show them to you later, if you want.âÂ
There was quiet for a moment, as you both let Isaac process the concept of life and death and parenthood in his little four-year-old brain.Â
Thatâs a lot all at once.Â
âDo we get to do anything special for Haley Day?â
Aaron looked down at him, âYes, sir. Weâre going to go visit the place where sheâs buried and then go out for ice cream. How does that sound?â
âReally good.âÂ
âReally good, alright!â Aaron rose with renewed vigor, and Isaac clung to his neck as he readjusted his grip. âCan you go get some shoes on and we can go?â Isaac nodded and Aaron set him down with a pat on his shoulder.Â
You tucked yourself under Aaronâs arm as Isaac ran back into the house. Through the window, you could see Jack swinging Sophia up over his head as a reward for getting her shoes on. Caroline was attached to his pant leg, begging to go next.
âThat went alright.âÂ
He nodded. âYeah, it did.â He kissed the side of your head and inhaled. âThank you.â
You looked up at him. âFor what?â
With his hand, he gestured vaguely to everything around you. âBeing here, I guess?â He laughed lightly through his nose. âJust - thank you. I know itâs not always easy.âÂ
You placed your left hand on his chest and rested your head against him as you spoke. âI know you worry, but I have never once felt like second-best or a replacement. Not even a little.âÂ
âI do worry,â he said quietly.Â
âDonât, please.â You patted his chest twice, a break. âNow, I believe we promised at least one of our children ice cream and I would hate to have a mutiny on our hands. Weâre outnumbered two to one and I donât need Reid to tell me those arenât great odds.âÂ
He laughed and pressed a sweet kiss to your lips. âThereâs no better partner to fend off hangry toddlers than you, darling.â

Quarantine Netflix Recs
Since were all at home watching Netflix I thought I would give my fav show/movie for every letter so everyone has something new to watch. Please send me your own recommendations or make your own alphabet list and tag me! Here goes:
A: Anne with an E- This modern take on Ann of Green Gables is quirky, fun, and dramatic. It has good music, writing and is all around a good watch. It deviates from the books a bit, but keeps the spirit.
B: Broadchurch- If you like crime dramas, this is for you. With one crime spanning the complete first season it delves deep into motive and emotions. David Tennet stars in this tense British mystery.Â
C: Cargo- A dystopian zombie apocalypse film set in Australia with a focus on human connection, and sacrifice. This is honestly so different than any other zombie movie I have seen in the best way.Â
D: Daybreak- Sticking with the apocalypse theme, daybreak is a humorous view on what happens when a nuke kills all the adults and leaves all the teenagers. Its like if high school was the whole world, but the world had also ended. Strong characters and âFerris Buellerâ esc fourth wall breaks give this show something special.Â
E: The Worlds Most Extrodiary Homes- For a change of pace this mindlessly beautiful home reality show shows off architecture that could be classified as art and makes me wonder how anyone can actually live here. If you just want something with no stakes what so ever, this is the eye candy for you.
F: Frontier- A gritty, and dark period piece starring Jason Momoa as the badass outlaw working against the British in the Canadian wilderness. Half political, half survival drama this show focus on the fur trade during the 1700s as well as themes like revenge, family history and love.
I have to do two for F: Feel Good- This emotional comedy is about Mae, a gay, ex-addict comic and her previously straight girlfriend. It is real and emotional and hilarious. Itâs filled with amazing characters and amazing writing and explores hard to talk about subjects, including addiction, love, coming out, and family and romanitc relationships.Â
G: Godless- A refreshing addition to the western genre. An injuryed outlaw, a headstrong widow, the whole of the wild west. Gritty and dramatic, this mini series is a must watch
H: How it Ends- Another apocalypse film, can you guys see a pattern? This one is less about the event however and more about family. A young man and his future father-in-law travel across the desolate wasteland of the USA to save his fiance.Â
I: I am Not Okay with This- A sci-fi coming of age story, based on a comic book, about a young girl who develops mysterious superpowers and is not okay with it. Also shes gay and in love with her best friend, its great.
J: John Mulaney- I assume everyone has already seen all of his specials, but if you havenât go check them out! They are hilarious and relatable on a deep level.Â
K: Klaus- This is my new favorite Christmas movie. Its got wit, charm, great character development and beautiful animation. Itâs the first original Christmas movie that I've liked. It gives a new spin to all your favorite Christmas traditions while holding on to the essence of the Christmas spirit.
L: Let it Snow- Based of the book co-written by Maureen Johnson, John Green, and Lauren Myracle this film is a feel good romance with quicky characters that have thier lives changed forever by a snowstorm in their small hometown. Friendships and romances are formed and tested as these teens figure out how to deal with what life throws at them.Â
M: Maniac: In an unlikely pair Emma Stone and Jonah Hill work amazingly well together in a drug trial that is supposed to cure all mental illness, of course not everything goes as planned. Our heroes go through multiple stages of the trial and discover their brains are miraculously linked. This series merges multiple genres into something surprisingly cohesive.Â
N: National Treasure- âIâm gonna steal the declaration of Independenceâ
O: The OA- A psychological sci-fi thiller about a blind girl who gets kidnapped and held prisoner by a mad scientist looking for other dimensions. The friends she makes along the way mean everything, but when she gets found not only are they missing, but she can see again.
P: Princess and the Frog- A cute Disney twist of the classic fairy tale. A young woman working hard to buy her own restaurant meets a prince that has been turned into a frog by a shady magic man. But when she kisses him he doesnât turn human, she turns frog. Together they have to figure out how to get back to being human and along the way they learn what they really need.
Q: apparently I have never watched a single thing on Netflix that starts with Q. So Queer Eye I guess. Iâve never watched it, but I've heard good things.
R: The Rain- After a deadly virus is discovered in the rain, sister and brother, Simone and Rasmus are separted from thier family and hide in a bunker for 6 years. Once they are forced to emerge they discover the world is much different than how they left it and their family wasnt all they thought it was.
S: Sense 8- This sci-fi drama focuses on 8 people from all over the world connected by some kind of psychic link. As they discover the extent of thier new abilities they also find out they arenât the only ones and some others arenât so friendly. This series was made with so much love and divotion and it shows throughout. The character development and backstories are rich, the writing is witty and thoughtful and the representation and focus on love above all else is so refreshing.Â
T: Tallulah- This drama is dark and witty, while simultaneously being bright and uplifting. When a young drifter kidnaps a baby from a neglectful mother and pretends the baby is hers, her boyfriends mother takes them in. The story is about family and doing the right thing, even when you canât find the right choice in the grey area.
U: The Umbrella Academy- This series based on a comic book written by Gerard Way is about superheroes with out being about superheroes. They donât save the day. They can barely save themselves, oh and also the world. Numbered 1-7 these siblings all have their own issues and getting them to work together was the dying wish of their asshole of a father.
V: None? Anyone have any ideas?
W: The Witcher- This series, based on a video game based on a book, is about a mysterious monster hunter and the bard he meets a long the way. Somehow full of action and also full of humor this series delves deep into the history and culture of this fantasy world.Â
X, Y, Z: I got nothing guys, but thanks for reading all the way down here. I hope you watch some of these shows and that you send some of your own recs to me!Â
Also None of these photos or shows or anything are mine and all belong to their rightful owners

Fractured Glass - October Writing Prompt
Sometimes, looking back, it was hard to remember how everything started, like trying to remember the full image in a stained-glass window from only a sliver or two of its glass. With only pieces left, it was easy for the image to get distorted.
But there was one thing Zovaal did remember.
It hadnât been about power.
Not in the beginning, anyway, no matter what the others might say to themselves and their followers to justify what theyâd done.
In the beginning Zovaal had just wanted to understand.
He was made to be the arbiter, the judge of souls. Every mortal to ever exist came before him, their entire stories bared before him in a fraction of a second. The souls earned their afterlives from whatever fleeting achievements or atrocities they committed during their flicker of existence in the lands of the living.
He passed judgment as he was created to do and sent the souls to his siblings or whatever other obscure afterlife he deemed fit. The process was quick, something that came second nature to him, like breathing to a mortal body.
However, the more souls who came through, the more curious he became. Two souls might go through nearly the same events in their lives, and yet they would not react even remotely the same. One would go to Kyrestia to ferry future souls, made strong and devoted to good because of the lifeâs hurdles, and the other would be sent to Denathrius with hopes that there might be something salvageable in its wretched self. Â
For all Zovaalâs dealings with souls, they were such a mystery. They were comprised of the same energies, formed the same ways, and yet there was something inside of them that made themâŚunpredictable.
What made them so similar and so different? More importantly, what made a soul into something wicked?
That was all he had wanted to know.
The First Ones hadnât thought to leave him or anyone else any notes. They had been the ones to create souls, hadnât they? Surely they had the answers, somewhere.
It was easy for Zovaal to do as he was meant to. Look at the soul, send it to where it was destined to go.
But it felt like there should beâŚmore to it. Were some souls designed to fall while others were not? Was it something else?
The Primus was busy forming his souls into an army. Kyrestia took hers and molded them into aloof ferrymen who could ignore the pleas for more time. Denathrius dug into his soulsâ minds and untangled whatever had gone wrong inside them.
Every one of them worked with the souls, got to know them, understand them.
It was unfair that Zovaal alone was left with so little time with the creatures.
He had turned to what little had been left behind by the First Ones as a way to get to better know the souls he judged, as well as understand the heft of the responsibilities his siblings carried. He wanted to know what it was that the Primus needed to defend against, what it was that the Winter Queenâs charges went back to.
He wanted to know why.
And he was denied the chance to learn. Denied by those who had no right to do so. After all, if he had been created with this curiosity in him, wasnât he just doing as he was meant to?
His own siblings turned away from him for his pursuits, making him into some kind of monster to warn their wards about as they cast him into the depths of the darkest, most forlorn parts of the Shadowlands.
It was maddening, a slow rot to the mind that came from the grim realization that there would be no changed minds. No matter how long he waited, there would be no second chance to defend himself against their accusations, there would only be what was, fragmented as it was.
He would never see that bigger picture that he had desired.
Worse, Zovaal could see it echoed in the souls of mortals. He could see the souls that sought knowledge beyond their reach who had become the wretched thing his siblings had feared he would become. He could see the ones who were like him, who had just wanted to know.
Or he had been able to.
In the Maw, the only souls he could see were the ones damned, by himself and then his successor, a lifeless construct made to do his job without asking all those pesky questions that had plagued him.
At a glance, he saw all that a soul had done in their life.
When he had done as he was meant to, the bad had been fleeting. One twisted soul to hundreds of good. One creature so corrupt and violent and lost to so many that might not be perfect, but still strived to live good enough lives, even if they werenât the kind of perfection that Kyrestia would accept.
There were infinite afterlives, after all, and so many of the souls who went to those minor realms were good or at least tried to be.
The longer he was in the Maw, the harder it became to remember that good.
The loyal pets, the enthusiastic scientists hoping to make their worlds better, the good Samaritans, the leaders who cared.
They were beyond his reach, beyond his sight. Mere echoes of what had been.
All that was left within reach was cruelty, inexplicable and unwavering.
Sometimes he could remember how few the bad souls were in comparison to the good, but as the Maw filled and expanded, as the wicked came to join him in eternal damnation, what he had once been so certain of began to waver.
Some days he wondered if his successor werenât broken, for she sent so many to the Maw. Could there really be so many mortals? So many unique creatures passing from one reality to the next? And why were so many prone to such vileness? To have so manyâŚit had to have been by design.
That only led to more questions with answers beyond his grasp. Why make a reality where such cruelty and madness was possible, probable?
Why make a reality where souls made such poor choices that they would need a place like Revendreth? A place like the Maw?
Even cast away and forgotten as he was, Zovaalâs questions still burned inside of him, hollowing him, like the empty space in his chest where his purpose had been stripped from him.
Just what was it that made souls do what they did? What made one soul cling to what was good in the world while another threw it all away and embraced unspeakable cruelty?
What made a good soul go bad, other than design?
The answer was soâŚobvious. And the more he thought of it, the more Zovaal realized that he didnât need the answers to the questions he had originally asked. He didnât need to understand the system that was in place because the system itself was something so despicable.
What he needed was to fix things, make them right. He needed to reshape reality to smooth out the flaws left behind by the First Ones, the flaws upheld by his shortsighted siblings.
And that was something that became more and more appealing as the eons passed by, offering him nothing more than time to prepare.
He would escape the Maw one day, and he would set this reality right.
And his siblings would regret spurning his curiosity as they had.
Zovaaal would see to that.
