When They Get Jealous
Summary: What happens when they someone flirting with you and they get jealous? Characters: Luther Hargreeves, Diego Hargreeves & Lila Pitts, Allison Hargreeves, Klaus Hargreeves, Five Hargreeves, Ben Hargreeves, Viktor Hargreeves, Marcus Hargreeves, Sparrow! Ben Hargreeves, Fei Hargreeves, Sloane Hargreeves, Jayme Hargreeves Tw: Violence, Emotional Manipulation, Su!c!dal indications
Tumblr media
Luther Hargreeves
Kind of insecure
He's also angry and crushes whatever he's holding in his hands
He's surprised when looking down at the crushed item
Then he becomes annoyed
He'll go to the bathroom to clean up and you'll quickly follow him
"Are you okay?"
He's surprised by your presence and the fact that you followed him
He'll then feel bad about his feelings before
You would never hurt him and he knows that, so why would he even feel that way? You've never done anything to justify that feeling
"Um... Nothing, I accidently- uh, crushed this thing- You know... Strength issues..."
You'll help him clean up/patch up and it makes Luther guilty and he momentarily forgets about the previous feeling... At least until next time
Tumblr media
Deigo Hargreeves & Lila Pitts
What a duo
Lila definitely filled Diego's head with delusions and will convince him to do something stupid [Like kill the person flirting w/ you] while she hides the body
Lila takes it better, but inside she's more pissed than Diego
Diego is mad at you and won't talk to you. You'll have to profusely apologize and prove to him you care, otherwise he won't speak to you. Trust, he can hold a grudge
Lila, on the other hand, is very extroverted and will go over to where you are and talk to the person who was flirting with you
There's is definitely tension in the air, even though it doesn't show on her face
She's all smiles and happy, but it doesn't show in her eyes
Deigo is mad, but Lila sees it as an opportunity to manipulate you [She also wants a reason to kill somone]
You try and talk back and she'll bring up how sad it makes them when people flirt with you and she'll emotionally manipulate into feeling bad
You didn't like the person but... maybe she's right? I mean- you didn't exactly tell the person no or that you were taken, but you had asked them to stop.... Was that enough?
Tumblr media
Allison Hargreeves
Oh, no no no nononononono
She is NOT letting that happen
The person who's flirting with you must have a death wish
She doesn't want to use her powers, but...
Well, she really has to fight the urge
She looks very sweet and kind, so she can just come into the conversation and play nice girl
She'll drag you off, talking about needing your help or something, while apologizing for taking you away [But she doesn't really mean it]
You won't even notice she's mad until you're alone
She'll accuse you of cheating or trying to leave her
You're taken by surprise, but don't even try and fight her, because she's in a very low/depressive state, so she'd be easy to push into doing something drastic
So, you'll have to wait until she feels better to confront her
Tumblr media
Klaus Hargreeves
They already assume you don't love them, so this just fills this delusion they have
It really bums them out and they get super depressed
They get extra clingy whenever they get you alone
They're usually pretty clingy, so you don't think about it to much
Until, they start whining about the guy at the bar
They'll ask you if you like them [Flirter] more than them [Klaus]
You'll tell them no, but they don't believe you
They'll emotion manipulate you saying that you probably hate them and if you ever leave them, they'll kill themselves
Tumblr media
Five Hargreeves
Someone flirting with you? Do they have a death wish??
Not afraid to kill a man or women. He doesn't care
The only issue is he'd never admit his jealousy. You have to confront him and at first he'll deny it, but if you keep pushing he'll get pissed and yell 'You know what- I am jealous! So what!?!'
You're surprised he admitted it, but that's the only time you're getting it
He'll deny saying it and gaslight you into thinking it never happened
He will kill them, he just needs a little time, which he has plenty of
It is bloody, gory and gruesome
No one will find the body, but he'll make sure you know the person is dead and it's all your fault
He'll make sure you never do it again because he hates this feeling and it bothers the hell out of him
Tumblr media
Ben Hargreeves
He wasn't really having fun at the party, so when seeing someone hit on you, it just made his night worse
He's scared you'll realize that he's not good enough
He hates the icky feeling in his stomach and it only continues to grow
Though it does make the feeling subside when seeing you roll your eyes and push the person out of the way before heading towards him
It makes him giddy and smile; Like a school boy
The fact that you'd chose him over everyone else really fuels his obsession, so be warned
When you get to him, you complain about the person
"Did you see them?"
He'll pretend that he wasn't paying attention and you gasp, before sitting down and ranting about how stupid that person was
He practically has hearts in his eyes and he looks at you like you're the only person in the world, which to him you are
Tumblr media
Viktor Hargreeves
He's annoyed, but he's not going to do anything drastic [Or at least he tries]
He wants to do something, but he doesn't really know what to do, because he's never had like a good relationship
He watches sadden from afar before wallowing in his own self pity
Though, after everything that has happened, he is a little bit more confident it just takes some working up before he can go over to you
He'll debate about it for a few though. Like he'll sit up, but quickly sit back down and do it over again until he finally gathers the courage to approach you
He'll finally approach you, thinking of what he's going to do as he approaches you, but when he finally approaches you he's still lost on what to do
He'll just act and kiss you infront of the person, which takes the flirter by surprise
The flirter will apologize and end up leaving you alone
You're surprised by Viktor's brazen behavior, but it's also kind of a turn on and he'll kiss you again before you can comment on it
Tumblr media
Marcus Hargreeves
He doesn't get 'jealous'
That word isn't even in his dictionary
Well, that was until he saw a guy flirting with you
What is this feeling???
It's an icky feeling that he doesn't like it
He'll put an end to it quickly [Both the flirting and the feeling]
You're kind of taken aback when Marcus comes up to you and pulls you away from the conversation
He would have folded his way into the conversation, but he would have been passive aggressive
You try and ask him what's wrong, but he's quick to deflect the conversation
He'll push the feeling deep down and it'll come up when you both get into a fight
Tumblr media
Sparrow! Ben Hargreeves
He's furious
If he wasn't busy nursing his drink, he probably would have knocked the guy out. Thankfully he's drunk and not sober
Though he can't help the thoughts in his mind... Violent thoughts
The thoughts will become a lot and he has to leave
He's mad at the person, but then he starts thinking and he suddenly becomes mad at you
How come you didn't tell them to back off????
He becomes slightly insecure but he fights that feeling and it becomes overcome with anger
He'll end up leaving without you, because he needs time to be alone and think
Though, this just makes his feelings worse. While he's drunk he's sad and depressed, but when he becomes sober, his emotions quickly turn to anger and he wants to confront you
So, when he sees you again he's anger has already been bubbling up and he blows up
You're taken aback and kind of scared because he's so mad and he's yelling and you can't even decipher what he's talking about
He needs some time to cool off, but he can't be alone, because his feelings will cool off
You'll go to another room while he cools off, so that he knows you're still around, but you're not alone together
He will eventually calm down and apologize for his behavior, but not with words, but like subtle actions, gifts, and such
Tumblr media
Fei Hargreeves
You don't even know she's jealous, because she hides it so well
She's kind of scary looking, so no-one has approached her
She takes her jealousy pretty well and doesn't let it bother her
It just kind of rolls off her back
She's confident and knows who she is and what she wants, so she's not threatened by some nobody trying to hit on you
Though, if she sees you getting uncomfortable, she will step in
Thanks to her looks, they back off rather quickly
It's rather silly to her and she finds the whole thing stupid
She takes it the best and doesn't let it bother her
10/10 best girlfriend <3
Tumblr media
Sloane Hargreeves
She's a sweet girl and doesn't deserve to be sad
She's a hopeless romantic, so when she sees people flirting and being cute, she instantly is like 'Awww' until she realizes it's you
Then she's mad and her mind races with multiple different scenario
What if you leave her?
Oh god, what if you don't love her anymore?
What if you click with them so well that you think they're you're soul mate and you leave he-
She shakes her head, before standing up
She fixes her hair, before putting on her brightest smile and approaching you
She's very beautiful, so they person who was hitting on you will turn and flirt with her too
She'll become annoyed, because they were just hitting on you and now they're hitting on her? Were you not good enough for them???
Who did they think they were?
Instead of being mad that they were flirting with you, she's mad they STOPPED flirting with you to flirt with her
You're incredible, so she's confused why they don't realize that
She calls them on it and you're really flattered, but you have to drag her away, so she doesn't get to carried away
Tumblr media
Jayme Hargreeves
It's more of an annoyance
She doesn't think about it to much
She's probably the only one who WILL come up to you and interrupt your conversation in a rude way
If the flirter is rude to her she'll use her powers and pull you away from them
It all happens so fast, you don't even process it until you're back at the house
"What the hell was that???"
She doesn't even turn to you, but you do here her make a sound of confusion
Your brows frown, and you groan, "Why did you use your powers on that person"
"Why were you flirting with them?" Still she hasn't turned towards you
"I wasn't flirting with them!"
She keeps her cool, making brash accusations, which causes you to get angry and by the end of it she makes it seem like YOU are the crazy one

Diego and Five being brothers (Season 1 edition)
S1e01: Diego says that the explanation Five gave made no sense, and Five's response is "Well it would if you were smarter." Diego lunges at Five for this comment, and Luther stops him
S1e01: in a flashback to 17 years before, Diego complains that Five cheats in a training exercise by teleporting in front of Diego (who was in the lead)
S1e04: Diego tells Detective Patch that Five had been missing since the day before and "I need to find him"
S1e04: When he and Luther find Five, Diego suggests they take Five to his place, that no one would look for him there
S1e04: when Five is not originally forthcoming about what Hazel and Cha-Ca wanted with him, Diego tells him "We just wanna protect you." To which Five responds, "Protect me. I don't need your protection, Diego."
S1e04: Diego about a sleeping Five: "Funny. If I didn't know he was such a prick, I'd say he looks almost adorable in his sleep."
S1e05: Diego goes charging at Five, which Luther has to grab him until he calms down. Five tells them why Hazel and Cha-Cha are after him, and that when Patch got in their way, she became fair game. When Diego says he's going to make them pay, Five advises against this, saying, "That would be a mistake, Diego. They've killed people far more dangerous than you." This is not said as an insult, but with an even and subdued tone of voice. Diego is not deterred.
S1e07: Diego and Five go together with Allison to find out more about Harold Jenkins. Diego insists that Five will not just blink in and grabs the file they need, that he needs to follow Diego's plan, which had already been set in motion.
S1e07: After Diego jumps through the window of Leonard's door, Five checks the door and finds that it's unlocked. Diego brushes this and the glass off and tells Five and Allison to spread out and call if they're in trouble. Five makes a sarcastic comment to Allison "Ah, inspiring leadership."
S1e07: Diego is concerned, along with Allison, when Five collapses from the wound he'd been hiding. He kneels next to Five and pulls one of Five's hands away from the wound. "Jesus, Five. Why didn't you say anything?" And Five whispering in pain, "You have to keep going. So... close." Five passes out and Diego lightly pats his cheek, trying to get him to wake back up.
S1e07: Diego helps Allison carry Five into the house and lay him on the couch. Later, they both look on as Grace tends to Five
S1e08: Diego starts fighting Hazel when Five was trying to talk to him. Five yells at him to stop and Diego does not do so. Five tries to go the route of using reason, telling Diego it might be a good idea to hear what Hazel has to say before killing him. Diego ignores this and tells Hazel he's going to kill him for killing Patch . Diego and Hazel continue to fight while Five gives snarky commentary. Diego bites Hazel, and it's only now that Five puts down his drink and blinks, appearing behind them and smashing a glass object over Diego's head, knocking him out. Five says, "I draw the line at biting." Five advises Hazel says what he came to say before Diego wakes up
S1e08: Before Hazel leaves, Five asks who killed Detective Patch. Hazel tells him it was Cha-Cha, and when Five expresses disappointment because "that gun could have cleared my brother's name," Hazel gives both guns, giving Five a way to clear Diego
S1e08: Diego is mad at Five for letting Hazel go and expresses his intent to hunt down both him and Cha-Cha to kill them. Fives attempts at reasoning with Diego do not work. Five "gives up" and goes to leave with Delores, and asks Diego what he liked about Patch. Diego gives a shallow answer about her body, and Fives asks, "Anything more profound than that?" Diego tells him that she always saw the good in people. Five responds, "Well, I'm sure she'll be proud to know that you're killing Hazel and Cha-Cha as a way to honor her memory." He then leaves Deigo with that to think on
S1e10: Diego, as he's about to kill Cha-Cha, remembers what Five said about honoring Patch's memory and ends up not killing her
S1e10: Five says that he has a way out, but he needs them to trust him. Instantly, Diego (as well as Klaus and Luther) says, "No. " Five insists that they will die if they don't listen to him. Diego asks what his idea is, and when Five tells them, Diego is the first to agree to the plan

Umbrella Academy: Young Blood and Season 4 Spoilers:
Young Blood took place days before Ben’s death and probably played a part in how he died.
The best thing that season 4 gave to us was answers surrounding Ben’s death. We know that he died on the 14th October 2006, which was 13 days after their 17th birthday.
The children were probably 17 years old in Young Blood given the line ‘“I haven’t worked with you for the past seventeen years to end up with a house full of normal children.”’ Said by Reginald. (Reggie might be round up I guess but I choose to ignore that ngl)
(Also, saying that he’s been working with them for 17 years means that he has been training them since they were literal babies)
This means that the book should take place within a 12 day window. Considering that I don’t remember them talking about their birthdays at all, I’m going to assume that it took place on the later end of those days.
Another line that I think relates to Ben dying is:
‘Tonight, Ben decided he’s never going to use his tentacles to kill another person. From now on, when he’s given an order on a mission, he’s not going to rush to please Dad and his timekeeping. Ben’s going to allow himself to hesitate. He’ll choose to save lives—even if it takes a little bit longer, even if it’s a little bit riskier. And there’s nothing anyone can do to stop him.’
Isn’t this what Ben did the day he died? He went out of his way to save a life and not to please his father. In the show, he has this conversation with Luther:
“There’s someone in here. We have to get her out.”
“That wasn’t part of the plan.”
“So what? You’re gonna blow up an innocent girl?”
“But dad said…”
“I don’t give a fuck what dad said! We need to help her.”
What Ben saw at the frat party with all those uni students and Ryan (especially Ryan) made him think more carefully about what he was doing when he followed Reggie’s orders. Choosing to save Jennifer ultimately led to his father shooting him dead.
Also, if Young Blood took place around Ben’s death, it might have got caught up with Reggie’s mind control thingy, and made them forget that there were other super-powered babies.
I know I’m probably thinking about this way too much, but Ben’s my favourite character. This book is literally the most time he gets to spend with his siblings, and I just need it to be canon!
Another line that gets me about Ben is:
‘There’s not a doubt in Ben’s mind that, if something were to happen to him, his siblings would show up at his funeral. He can picture Allison crying, while Diego tries to hide his tears. Luther would give the eulogy. Viktor would put flowers on his grave every week. Klaus would stay high and avoid contacting him. Ben smiles as he thinks of himself haunting Klaus every time he catches him sober. Ben catches sight of his leather jacket among the rubble; he digs it out and puts it back on, now so covered in dust that it looks gray instead of black.’
What the Umbrella Academy did was so dangerous that Ben thought about his own funeral? I don’t know if this is a common thought people have because I sure don’t. And he thought about all of his siblings (minus Five) being there. This suggests to me that he could imagine himself going first. I also like the little nod at the end to his ghost outfit.

TUA S4 SPOILERS
I have so many thoughts after finishing it.
yet I feel so empty lmao.
I'm gonna put my disorganised rambles under a read more if anyone is interested and/or wants to scream with me about it
umbrella academy is one of, if not, my favourite show ever made for its storytelling and unique art direction yes, but mainly its characters and their dynamic, like everyone who loves this show.
i love the fluffy sibling relationships and how their trauma affects how they live and behave with one another. everything is built off of the characters!! it's never revolved around love interests unless it made sense and I really loved that. patch (mostly), dave, ray, lila and even Delores tied into the main cast's arcs and pushed the plot forward in a way that I thought was really satisfying and didn't take away too much from the family dynamics that the show focuses on.
so why did they choose these random romantic relationships this season to focus on? I thought the twist about Ben's death was actually great and unexpected personally, (and i loved seeing the kids go out on a mission; i always wanted more flashbacks to their childhood) but to boil it down to a virus that made him fall in love with someone he just met? that's so boring and so unlike anything they've done before imo!
also what happened to sloane lmao. I know basically nothing about behind the scenes stuff but what was the point of having her and Luther get together last season if they had no plans, I'm guessing they must have and the actress didn't come back?
and I feel like hargreeves' grand plan that caused everything in this show to happen feels so anticlimactic now. I mean I guess it literally meant nothing now. this feels like life is strange all over again but worse lol.
Klaus! thank god he exists in this series. what a breath of fresh air any time he was on screen. i never thought i'd be so relieved they threw him into another side quest lmao thank god he wasnt burdened by the main plot too much. I don't mean to say I'm completely happy with what they did with him, they started this arc of like, not letting his powers define him and finish his transformation that he's been continuously going through since s1, but because the show ends with everyone killing themselves it just kind of fizzles out? still love him and his careless whimsy, i thought the way he got his powers back and the scene following it was really good. as always wish they explored it moreeeeeee ughhhhh. Omg they never did anything more with the void or God either. I loved that stuff :(((((((((((
I cant even think about the five and lila stuff without getting mad so I'm just gonna say: fuck you for that. what the fuck were you thinking. why. why. why. in my head five is aroace and moves on with his life, maybe takes up golfing idk. who cares. anything else. HE LITERALLY SAID "I WANNA FUCKING KILL HIM" ABOUT DIEGO IN THE LAST EPISODE?!?!?!?!? and he hid the way home to her children from her for months???? I like the very end of the plotline where it explained founder five, very Loki, but that could have been accomplished without the 7 year romance...............
I think the 6 year time jump reallllyyyyy did not help this season at all. it just led to all the conflict with Allison being resolved instantly and her only story being the one klaus is living with. also wtf was going on with her powers why did they just give her telekinesis thats way more boring than her rumours! I like the tiny bits we got with klaus and allison but it was so short! with the time jump we missed so much development, most of them feel like completely different characters for no real reason. the only thing we know about luther is that he became a stripper, and viktor owns a bar in canada i guess??? these guys were most of the main plot in season 1 and they were so one dimentional this season. i feel like we barely got to get to know Claire or Diego and lilas kids which would be fine if the rest of the plot going on with the other characters was good and engaging, which i felt it wasn't. I don't even know the kids names apart from Grace, which is very cute ill give them that.
The show ended with the main cast doing a group suicide. ceasing to exist. none of them getting to heal.
I'm sorry I don't want to be a hater and I really do hope that some people loved this season but im just so sad lol. i liked the first couple eps and I really love these characters, judging by twitter I'm not alone in my disappointment though lmao. what was the potential s5 gonna look like?!?!?
I loved klaus and Allison a lot and we got little snippets of greatness, I want a spinoff of them now!!!!!!!
I'm excited to hear other people's opinions, maybe I'll see other perspectives and feel a little better haha.
klaus 4ever 🖤☂️🖤

So since I predicted that Sloane and Luther would get together from the day she was announced as well as a couple of scenes- I feel obligated to share w y'all my batshit crazy idea of what I thought might happen in season 4 and like now that we have TWO trailers why I think it might happen. In other words-
Me being delulu about tua s4 and y'all gotta deal w it
So my initial thought was that in this new timeline they are themselves slotted into lives they don't initially remember, that the longer they dwell in the timeline the more they remember and some come to accept. Up until the inevitable happens and the world is at risk again for whatever reason. However, saving the world means giving up these perfect lives for accepting their shitty dysfunctional reality to save each other. Because the more they stay and accept the more they lose of previous timelines.
I was gonna write a fanfic but then my resident evil obsession started and if y'all have read any of my fanfic y'all know my history with long-fics.
Why do I now think this could actually be the case you ask?
At the end of season 3 Luther takes off after our girl Sloane with Klaus following but everyone else is just so calm. Soooo which leads us to
Trailer 1
Viktor might own or work in a bar. Which the fact that he seems to be somewhat settled for sure tells us that some time has possibly passed between season 3 and 4
The sign says "home for wayward boys" implying that Allison may not have been in the group and maybe neither Viktor before the transition. I'm also wondering if now that his wife is back maybe in this new timeline they both fostered/adopted our main characters.
Oh yeah did I mention Reginald's moon wife is alive? His whole thing with the children was his alien (literally) way to save her. Now she's alive.
Allison is with claire so she also possibly has her life back.
Ben is getting out of jail and like it could be a "time has passed between seasons" thing or something happens in one of the episodes where he winds up locked up.
Diego is at a kid's party and either has his own kid or a niece or something. it's not claire and the family behind him is not his umbrella fam.
MY BOY IS SO SMALL ITS GONNA BE SO WEIRD SEEING HIM "NORMAL" THIS SEASON also he looks kinda sad. trailer two debunks what I initially thought of his reveal in this trailer because I thought oh haha what if it's a Halloween costume but like we'll get to my season 2 crazies hang in there.
Klaus is upside down in an interior (proven by the radiator) so he is either stuck, meditating, in a trance, or it's Sloane holding him there. I also kinda wonder if he's going through a clean streak or something OCD like with his addictions from the whole blue gloves thing. tbh i saw those in the promo and thought it was blue screen and his hands were gonna be effed up lol.
ben shouts "lets go kill this bitch" and allison corrects "this is a rescue mission" sooooooo is reginal and or his wife the bitch in question? and like sloane is the only one missing from our group so maybe she's the one being rescued? or maybe one of the new characters (like gene and jean).
which brings me to a theory I'll get to after my trailer break down and before the second breakdown.
side bar but the xmen stile jet is great lol
the subway is 100% a metaphor for the timelines AND that house diego and luther are at is the one from season two where they see reggie and grace at that party
the mind thingies in the blue room are so fucked up and i cant tell if thats sloane or wife hargreeves or a grace return in the bg but im wondering if it connects them to other timelines? Im wondering if the woman is sloane bc abigail has such curly hair but it does remind me of grace so idk.
upside down umbrella is insane okay
starting to think the jet might be flashbacks
A SPACE SUIT HAND REACHES INTO A RED FORCE SOMETHING FOR ANOTHER HAND AND SLOANE MAYBE????
fuck organization if you have read this far welcome to my brain- anyway- theory is that her place got swapped for abigail hargreeves' on the moon and now our beloved moon boy has to save her from that place. so symbolic.
now i was half put down a few shots later when we see victor emit a similar color power later but trailer 2 kinda backs some stuff up.
so trailer 2
opens with ben alone and confused and vicktor calls ben at the phone booth leading me to 100% believe they have split up again and have to find each other. very nostalgic of season 1 and 2
"there's something happening to you and it's only gonna get worse" so this is either about just ben OR its about all of them. either way ben did look confused so his eldritch horrors are either hulking out or he's losing memory chunks like my theory suggests. but it might revolve around ben bc vicktor specifically says "you" in the next time about the world ending.
(wondering if luther nervous farted in the car lmao)
Gene and Jean are possibly conspiracy theorists or agents posing as them but its interesting they are bringing attention to the altered timelines.
okay yeah world ending revolves around ben im tired okay and not proofing this you're stuck with my ramblings
the white violin is for sure abi hargreeves no doubt it doesn't look like sloane and plus the violin viktor got was bc reggie gave it to him that he got from his wife before she died okay. fanfic rn where viktor is the chosen child fanfic rn where abi loves all the kids fanfic rn where shes alive but shes just as much of a dick and we could have an epic trans story for viktor and expectations and yeah anyway-
whoever said it was jenny in trailer two i wanna kiss u on the lips ur prolly right and i love you for it
"ben died because we failed as a team" "and-" "and what" FOLLOWED BY LUTHERS CONFUSED FACE LEADS ME TO ONE OF TWO THINGS AND YOU ALREADY KNOW ONE OF THEM memory loss my beloved or something shocking occurs to him or like he seems something idk
more blue room stuff and uh maybe its not mind stuff maybe its power stimulation like what if they dont have their powers but ben does idk.
who TF is klaus digging up
OH GUYS NO I THINK LUTHER IS A MALE DANCER THATS WHAT THE SPACE SUIT IS IDK WTF IS THIS SHOW I LOVE IT
anyway they keep showing that one scene and like idk im delulu about sloane im so tired and i am not ready for this show to end in 8 days im sobbing y'all

Chapter 6: Lies of The Father
Tumblr media
Summary
You and your siblings uncover both your father’s lies and the secrets of Leonard.
Warnings? Click here
A/N: I’d like to point out that my author’s note on A03 says “Not gonna lie to ya kids, I was operating on 5 minutes of sleep, 2 glasses of water, and a slim jim. All the while fighting Seroquel induced sleep like a brat. So if it sounds like ramblings of a madman down there, that’s most likely. Enjoy!” How do I still live???
“Who the hell is Harold Jenkins?” Diego asked.
Five downed the rest of the coffee before tossing the plastic cup off to the side. “I don’t know…yet. But I do know that he’s responsible for the apocalypse. So we have to find him, and we have to do it now.”
Luther chimed in, just as confused as the rest of y’all. “How is he connected to what’s gonna happen?”
Five shrugged. “I don’t know.”
“So all we have to go on is a name?” You asked.
“Trust me, it’s enough.”
“There could be thousands of Harold Jenkins in this country alone, you sure?”
“Hazel and Cha-Cha don’t have a briefcase anymore but these orders were still sent to them. Which means that the Harold Jenkins in question is here.”
“Am I the only one skeptical here?” Allison asked. Five huffed as she kept going. “I mean, how exactly do you know all of this about what’s-his-name?”
“Harold Jenkins. You know those lunatics in masks who attacked the house?”
“Oh that’s Hazel and Cha-Cha. Yeah, I think I remember those guys.”
“Yeah, the ones that attacked us while you were getting drunk.” Diego snarked.
“Yeah, them. They were sent by the Temps Commission to stop me from coming back and preventing the end of life on Earth.”
“The Temps what?” Allison was still lost.
You, on the other hand, seemed to catch on fast. “Like…a time travel Illuminati?”
Five nodded in your direction while the others just gave you stunned glances. You merely shrugged.
“Exactly as Y/N says. They monitor all of time and space to make sure that whatever is supposed to happen…happens.”
You immediately had a shit ton of questions running around your head. For instance, how would they know what’s actually supposed to happen?
That went to another question and then another as the voices of the others drowned out.
‘Wouldn’t that just affect one timeline instead of…all of time? Was there even multiple timelines? Were those theories wrong? I mean they are just theories so technically they can’t be right or wrong…right? That seems like a massive oversight to just have one timeline. Who even created such a thing? Has to be someone who could time travel like Five, right? Why does the apocalypse need to happen, anyway? Should we tell Vanya—”
“Y/N?”
“Huh?”
“You coming?”
“To kill Harold Jenkins? Sure.”
Allison stuttered as you joined Five and Diego. “There’s no telling that we’re actually killing him, Y/N.”
“Well I doubt tying him up is gonna save the world.”
Luther’s plan to rummage through dad’s files was immediately shot down. Another argument looming over the conversation.
“We don’t have time for this.” Five urges.
“Let’s roll. I know where we can find this asshole. Klaus, Y/N, you two are with me.”
You nodded but Klaus tried getting out of it. “Yeah. I—I’m good.”
“You’re good?” You questioned.
“I think I’ll, uh…I think I’ll pass.” Everyone watched him as he walked past. “Feeling a little under the weather, so, uh…”
Diego and Five rolled their eyes before leaving the room and you followed suit.
“Drink some water Klaus!” You shouted as the three of you left the house.
——✨——
The four of you rode in Diego’s car all the way to the police station. He turned off the ignition.
“I know this Jenkins dude has to have a record.”
“How sure are you?” You asked.
“Positive, everyone has a record.”
You smirked. “I don’t have a record.”
“How’d you manage that?”
“Hard to get caught when you have powers.”
Diego let out a silent laugh. Allison looked nervous.
“So what’s your plan? Waltz in there and just ask for it?”
“I know the station like the back of my hand, sis. I spent a lot of time inside.”
“Handcuffed.”
“Whatever. Here’s the plan.”
“Plan? I’m just gonna blink in and get the file.”
There was a brief silence before a caught-off-guard Diego responded.
“No, that’s not…you don’t know the ins and out of this place, okay?”
“I literally just did this yesterday.”
“What?”
“My yesterday, not your yesterday. It’ll take me two seconds. Why don’t I just go?”
“Listen to me. You are not going in there. I made a call. That’s what a leader does. He leads.”
The silence from all of you spoke volumes and you squinted in Diego’s direction. A combination of confused and amused by his dollar tree vigilante attitude.
He left the car tabs entered into an alley, leaving the three of you in the car.
“Y’know, when we finish saving the world, we should probably get him therapy.”
Five and Allison nodded in agreement. Suddenly, Allison shifted, preparing to leave the car.
“Where you going?”
“I feel terrible about what happened earlier with Vanya. I need to try to talk to her.” With that, she left the car and headed towards the nearest payphone. There was a short silence before Five spoke up.
“What happened earlier…with Vanya?”
“Well, while we were all talking Vanya and her boyfriend showed up but nobody wanted to say anything.”
“Including you?”
You looked down in embarrassment. “Yeah…”
“Why didn’t you guys tell her?”
“I mean…y-you know how sensitive Vanya can be.”
Five smirked. “I seem to remember you also being sensitive.”
You chuckled and rolled your eyes. “She’s sensitive in a different way. I guess…everyone just didn’t want her to worry when there’s nothing she could really do about it. It’s not fair to her to make her feel useless.”
“Maybe you guys should think about giving her a chance to speak. We’re all adults, we don’t need each other to make decisions for us….maybe except for Luther…and Diego…and Klaus….and sometimes you.”
“Me?” You giggled. A smile appeared on Five’s face. “I’ll have you know that I am the most mature of everyone…maybe excluding you since you’re older.”
“Considering everyone else…that’s not a high bar.”
You playfully hit him. The two of you watched Allison hang up the phone as Diego approached her. She took a look at the file and just as Five was about to get out, you saw her eyes widened and she quickly came back to the car, Diego in tow.
Allison hopped in next to you.
“What’s wrong? Does he have a record?” You asked.
Allison handed you the file. “That address look familiar?”
You skimmed over everything but took in what stood out. Two important factors. One being that Harold Jenkins went to jail for homicide and the other being that he shared the exact same address as Leonard.
“Holy shi—”
——✨——
Then
“Y/N, I don’t think we should be doing this.” Vanya whispered.
Despite this, she sat perfectly still as you continued painting around her eyes with the eyeliner. While it wasn’t quite the premium make-up kit you’ve seen in pictures, what Pogo had bought for you was just what you needed as a make-up starter kit.
You had been terrorizing everybody lately. Minus your dad, who didn’t know you had make-up, and Pogo who asked that he’d be kept safe from the make-up as compensation for him gifting you that.
Luther wanted nothing to do with it but Diego thought it’d be funny to convince you to use the red lipstick to paint stuff on Luther’s face.
Allison was thrilled to recreate some of the looks she would see in the teen magazines she’d always get from Pogo. While you guys tried and you did succeed to some extent, it still didn’t come out as pristine and perfect as the models.
Ben said no as well and while you were upset, he managed to make you feel better with a drawing he made. Working on his skills during his spare time. You were too busy looking for a place to hang it to notice you had been had.
Klaus was thrilled. You messed up with his eye look but he found himself fond of it. Giving birth to his iconic look.
With Grace, she merely gave you a lesson on how to achieve her look. Teaching you how to keep a steady hand along with little cheats like holding something firm against your face while you did your eyeliner. One she was sure you understood her lesson, she let you do her make-up for the day. You did a good job. She was proud.
Then there was Vanya. While she was nervous, a huge part of her was happy to be included. Though, you had always made an effort to spend time with Vanya. That didn’t stop her from being nervous about getting in trouble.
Your dad was very strict and anything that could make y’all remotely happy was forbidden outside of the designated days. Hell, maybe even thinking happy thoughts was against his strict rules.
“Just stay still a little bit longer.” You muttered. “Aaaaand done!”
You inched back with a huge grin as you handed Vanya a grey handheld mirror. An extra given to you by your mother. You sat in anticipation as Vanya peered at the look you had given her.
The anxiety only melted away once you saw the small smile that adorned her face.
“You like it?” You asked, still wanting some audible confirmation.
She nodded. “I do. I look…I like it. I look so pretty.”
“You always looked pretty, Vanya. The make-up Just enhanced your beauty.”
A young Vanya was smitten with her appearance. While the lot of you always had some insecurity issues due to your dad’s shitty parenting, it was always somewhat noticeable with Vanya's insecurity.
You were happy when she came to you talking about how your dad let her have the violin he kept around. None of you knew his deal with it considering you never saw him play it.
“Just imagine…” you began musing as Vanya continued getting lost in her own eyes. “Vanya Hargreeves on some big billboard and you selling out some grand arena.”
She gave a meek laugh. “I doubt anyone would care about me after you guys save the world for the billionth time.”
There was a hint of frustration in Vanya’s voice but it went unnoticed by you as you leaned towards Vanya, gently taking her hand and lowering the mirror.
“After the world is saved…don’t you think people want to relax listening to you?”
While the thought made her smile, it gradually vanished as she continued to downplay herself. “No, once they see my last name they’ll wonder why I don’t have powers like everyone else.”
“Mmmmmmm….maybe you can use a different name. So that when people are looking at you, they aren’t thinking about the rest of us.”
The tension in Vanya’s body seemed to dissipate as the suggestion filled her mind and she leaned back, her upper body rested on her arms.
“Like….something mysterious. How about…Vanya….Vasilev.”
“Russian?”
“Yeah, your first name is Russian, so why not?”
Vanya giggled. “Hmm…Vanya…Tolstoy?”
“Like, the War & Peace guy?”
Vanya nodded.
“Or maybe we don’t even go Russian, maybe we can just use any other name. Like Vanya Page or…Vanya Adams?”
“Ooh, Vanya Adams sounds good.”
Before the two of you could continue, the alarms blared throughout the manor. It was time for another mission. The sounds of your siblings all stomping and running through the halls made it very clear. If not, then Ben bursting into the room looking for you made it extremely clear.
“Y/N, we have to—”
He stopped when he noticed Vanya’s new makeup look. He smiled and offered a nod of hello. “You look great Vanya.” He then turned to you. “Y/N we gotta go.”
“Right.” You responded, Vanya could hear it in your voice how you dreaded it but she felt there was nothing she could do.
You had closed the door behind you, leaving Vanya alone with the mirror. She lifted it once again, falling head over heels for the girl she saw on the other side.
——✨——
The four of you hopped out of the car and walked towards Leonard’s house.
“We should be careful. We don’t know what Leonard’s capable of.”
Diego scoffed. “Yeah, he didn’t seem dangerous when I first saw him. Looked kinda scrawny.”
“Well, between him and you, one of you is guilty of patricide.” You commented. “It’s always the ones you don’t expect.”
Allison nodded in agreement. “Yeah, just look at Five.”
“Thanks.” Five replied back.
“Good point. So what’s this guy want with Vanya?”
You tapped Allison on the arm and motioned for the window that you came through last time. Luckily for you, Leonard suspected nothing and the window was still cracked open.
You laughed. “See? Suburbanites never learn.”
“I guess they don’t.”
Allison climbed in first and you followed, just in time to see Five blink in and Diego Rambo crashing through the door’s front window. The two of you rolling your eyes.
As Diego struggled to lift himself, the three of you waltzed over.
“Subtle.” Allison joked as you knelt down to help him get up.
Five casually opened the door. “You know the door was unlocked.”
“Yeah, well, my way works just fine. Spread out. Yell if you, uh…you know, you’re in trouble.”
You glanced over to the others before trailing after Diego while the others wandered into other areas.
“I think you should sit down.” You suggested.
“I know your the doc and all but we got more important things to worry about,”
“Have you even been taking anything for the pain?”
“Don’t need to. Just gotta wait for the healing process to keep going. Kinda wish your healing accelerated it more but—”
“Diego, you don’t have to push yourself like this.”
The two talked as you both rummaged through stuff to find anything that might actually link Leonard to the end of the world.
“Yes…I do.”
There was a brief silence before he spoke up again.
“Do you remember how it felt…when Ben died?”
“……I think we all remember how it felt.”
Diego nonchalantly nodded. “Yeah but you specifically. When you run away…how did it make you feel?”
You didn’t say anything for a moment. Slightly worried about fueling his revenge boner.
“Felt great. Felt like I was taking control of my life for once. But I was mostly being fueled by anger and spite. And the reality only hit me when I realized that I was out on the street. That same anger…spite…and pride kept me from coming home too. Didn’t wanna give dad the satisfaction of knowing that one of the kids he tormented couldn’t survive without him.”
Another silence.
“I should’ve come after you. I coulda found you.”
You rolled your eyes. Not out of annoyance but it humored you. “You sound like Klaus.”
“It’s what a big brother would do.”
You scoffed. “You’re NOT my big brother.”
“I’m number 2.”
“We were all born at the same time.”
“Dad found me before you.” He teased.
“That literally doesn’t mean anything.”
Diego walked over, catching sight of a poster featuring Vanya. You didn’t see the soft smirk that appeared on his face. It only made his worry for Vanya grow. It really dawned on him that he hadn’t seen her since earlier and even if he didn’t think much of Leonard then, there was no telling what he could’ve done to Vanya in that time.
“Guys, you need to see this.” Allison was heard shouting.
You all convened upstairs, standing below the very attic that you had stumbled on last time before you had to retreat.
“Can't believe I forgot about that.” You spoke.
“Yup, first thing I went to check.” Allison responded.
When you all climbed up, there was a very clear picture painted of what Leonard had planned. Needless to say, this man had a vendetta against y’all.
“All our faces are burnt off.”
“Jeez….talk about toxic fandom.” You morbidly joked.
“Yeah,” Diego agreed. “this guy’s got some serious issues.”
“This was never about Vanya.”
“He just wanted to get to us.” You finished Allison’s revelation.
Suddenly, a thump was heard. Five had collapsed. You knelt down, spotting blood slowly seeping through his shirt. You glanced at his face before focusing back on the wound, wasting no time in placing a hand over the bullet wound with your other grabbing onto his hand to keep him focused.
“He’s been shot. Five when did this happen?” You asked.
The others watched as your signature white healing aura emitted from your hand. Five groaned as he felt the bullet lodged into his body being slowly picked out. He’s never felt your healing really do this before.
Cauterizing and closing up wounds was more along your forte. So long as you were quick enough. Recent wounds wouldn’t be an issue. All the patient had to do was let it heal.
This feeling though probably felt worse as he felt this agonizing reversal. Diego and Allison watched in a combination of disgust and amazement as the bullet crawled out of the wound like something out of a horror movie.
You mindlessly grabbed the bullet and tossed it to the side before returning to focus on the wound, which was now closing up.
Diego and Allison exchanged glances towards each other before looking at you.
“Ok, he should be fine but he’s exhausted and he needs rest.”
“How did you do that?” Diego questioned.
You looked up at him. “What? Heal? Diego you know how.”
“No, you—”
“We have to keep going…” Five groaned. “So…close.”
He went silent as Allison tried getting a response out of him. You waved it off.
“I told you he’s fine. He’s just tired. We should get him outta here, get him back home.”
——✨——
“How is he?” Diego asked, approaching Allison as she paced back and forth.
The two watched as you aided Grace in making sure Five was ok. You didn’t even hear what they were talking about as the anxiety was pouring over you.
You didn’t answer Diego’s question but you were fully aware of what transpired. You have NEVER reversed a wound like that. That little power-up combined with the looming end of days made you nervous.
You’ve read stories of people who suddenly saw spirits and all other types of shit when they were closing in on death’s door. Maybe it was something like that?
And if it wasn’t, you didn’t even have time to dive deeper into it. Vanya was somewhere with Leonard and Leonard was using her in some ploy to kill all of you and destroy the world.
You were brought out of your thoughts when you felt your mother’s hand gently covered your own. Your eyes met and she offered you her signature smile.
“You did a great job taking care of him. You don’t have to worry, Y/N.” Grace quickly picked up that something else was wrong. “I know you all are so grown up now but I want you to know…you can still talk to me. I’m your mother after all.”
You smiled. There was a silence before you finally spoke up.
“Mom…growing up…did I ever…show any upgrades to my powers? Like…I don’t know…”
“Hmm…not that I’m too aware of. Your father and Pogo mostly kept track of such things. My only job was to make sure you all got the love and care you needed.”
You nodded. You understood they’d probably purposely keep Grace out of the loop.
“Your father…he did see the untapped potential in all of you. That’s all he really wanted but…to me you were all perfect on your own.”
Your interest was piqued as your mother spoke.
“You know, despite all of you being the same age. You were always so small compared to your siblings. Maybe it was just me but you needed that extra care.” She laughed. “You and Vanya were similar like that but also in your own ways. When you tagged along with me whenever you could…before your father whisked you both away. We admired all the amazing views.”
She was reminiscing and it was lovely to hear.
“I remembered you wanted to be an artist.” She looked up at you. “Do you still draw?”
Your eyebrows raised, caught off guard by the question. “Oh um….yeah, I would think I’m still an artist. I draw as a hobby sometimes but I mostly like performing.”
Her smile grew larger, exposing teeth. “That sounds lovely, sweetie. One day I’ll have to see.”
“Oh, you should Vanya. She’s great with the violin.”
“Does she still have the same one?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s nice to hear…” She looked back down at Five who was still sound asleep. “I missed you all…so much.”
She seemed to zone out as she stood up and left the room. Leaving you alone with Five. You finally noticed both Diego and Allison were gone. You stood up off the bed but looked down at Five.
You don’t know what possessed you to do so but you ended up leaning down and planting a soft kiss on his forehead before leaving the room.
You needed some sleep.
——✨——
The next morning, there was a family meeting featuring just you, Klaus, Five, and Luther. Breakfast was courtesy of you while coffee was courtesy of Klaus. You looked over at Luther who was purely hungover. The sight kept you giggling occasionally.
“Jesus. Who do I gotta kill to get a decent cup of coffee?” Five whined.
“Don’t know if you remember but you don’t kill for coffee, you buy it.”
Luther groaned. “Let’s just get started.”
Klaus gestured around the room. “Anyone seen any of the others? Diego? Allison? No?”
You took a bite out of a piece of bacon. “Last we were doing was trying to find Vanya.”
“Alright then this is the closest thing to a quorum…” he started banging silverware on the table. “that we’re gonna get. Now listening up. There’s no easy way to say this, so I’m just gonna spit it out……yeah.”
He faded into silence. You all looked at him expectantly and when he didn’t keep going, Luther urged him.
“Klaus.”
“I conjured Dad last night.”
That perked everyone up but once again, Klaus didn’t keep going. You gestured your hand.
“And? Did he say anything interesting?”
Luther interrupted. “I thought you said you haven’t been able to conjure in years.”
“Yes, yes, I know, but I’m sober. Ta-da!”
“Aww, good for you.”
Klaus nodded in your direction. “Thank you.”
“How you feeling?”
“Like shit but that’s not important.”
Another lead into silence. Luther rolled his eyes. “Anyone got any aspirin?”
“Top shelf, above the crackers.” Five answered curtly.
“Hey, hey, hey.” Klaus urged. “This is serious, guys, all right? This really happened. I swear.”
Five relented. “Okay, fine. I’ll play. What did the old man have to say?”
“Well, he gave me the usual lecture about my appearance and my failures in life.”
“Sounds like him.” You threw out quickly before taking a sip of your coffee.
“Yeah, no surprise, I know. Even the afterlife couldn’t soften a bar dass like Dad, right? But he did mention something about his murder, or lack thereof, because…he killed himself.”
……………………………
“Say sike right now”.
Klaus shook his head.
Luther groaned, beginning to stand up. “I don’t have time for your games Klaus.”
“I’m telling you the truth, Luther. I’m telling you the truth.”
“Why’d he do it then?” Five asked.
“He said it was the only way to get us all home again.”
Luther shook his head. “No, Dad wouldn’t just kill himself.”
Five added onto Klaus’ reason. “You said it yourself, he was depressed. Holed up in his office and room all day and night,”
“No, there weren’t any signs. Suicidal people exhibit certain tendencies, strange behaviors.”
“Like sending someone to the Moon for no reason?” Klaus suggested.
Luther glared at Klaus. “I swear to God, Klaus, if you’re lying…”
Klaus threw his hands up in defense. “I’m not. I’m not.”
“Master Klaus is correct.”
All of you turned to see Pogo entering the room. His presence being a sight for sore eyes in the midst of all that’s going on but his confirmation souring his appearance.
“What?” You were in disbelief.
“Regretfully….” He sighed. “I helped Master Hargreaves enact his plan.”
‘Are you fucking kidding me?’ You thought.
Luther fully turned to Pogo. “What?”
“So did Grace.”
The hits just keep coming.
“It was a difficult choice for both of us. More difficult than you know.” He continued. “Prior to your father’s death, Grace’s programming was adjusted so that she was incapable of administering medical aid.”
“Sick bastard.”
“So the security tape we saw?”
“It was meant to further the murder mystery. Your father hoped that being back here, solving it together…”
You all felt annoyance wash over you.
“This is such bullshit.” You spouted. “At no point whatsoever did you think to just be…upfront? What was all of this for? Bring us all together and then what?”
“You would all come together to save the world.”
You scoffed. “Save the world?” You angrily stood up from your seat and started pacing back and forth. “This man’s head was really so far up his ass that he thought him dying…would undo….everything.”
There was a simmering among all of you.
“That….PRICK!” You shouted, causing everyone to jump.
“Glowbug…”
“He treated us like lab rats. Pets meant to perform. He wanted so little to do with us on a nurturing level that he created a robot to take care of us. For him to think that his death would matter so much to us as to reform the academy….the fucking ego. It was HIS fault that the academy broke up. The moment he blamed us for Ben’s death…that showed us……that showed me that he didn’t care about what happened to us. The only people who gave a slither of a shit about his murder were Luther and Diego and Diego only cared because thanks to dear old dad, Diego has a hero complex the size of Texas. Luther only cared because he genuinely thought that maybe, just MAYBE our dad might care about him the most because stayed!”
Luther was taken aback with a hint of embarrassment, even leaning back a bit.
“Klaus is a fucking addict!”
“Recovering.”
“A recovering addict because our dad locked him in a mausoleum! The way he treated Vanya was downright cruel and unnecessary. We meant NOTHING to this man. You’ve seen it first hand, Pogo!”
“You’re father…had his own way of showing how much he care—”
You started shaking your head. “No, no! Don’t do that. Don’t…excuse his shitty parenting. We were nothing more than a failed pet project for him. I can't believe you let us scramble around like that.”
Pogo didn’t respond, causing you to roll your eyes and storm out of the room. Luther watched as you left the room, standing up with the intention of going after you but his rage didn’t allow him to just leave everything at that.
“First the Moon mission and now this…” he threw a glare Pogo’s way.
——✨——
Then
You were all lined up dressed in black karate gis in a white room. It made you nauseous with how much it reminded you of the Bright Room.
You could feel yourself distancing from the current reality. Ben glanced in your direction, noticing your distress, he gently took your hand into his own.
While the sudden touch startled you a bit, you relaxed when you realized who it was. Looking over to him, you flashed a gentle smile, earning one back in return.
The short moment of sweetness was broken when your father strided into the room, Pogo trailing behind him. Ben quickly let go of your hand, almost yanking it, straightening himself out.
While you understood why he did so, it hurt to have him snatch away his affections.
“Children! Your last mission was a success.”
You all smiled at the rare compliment. Of course, it didn’t last.
“However, if the world had to rely on your physical performances everyday, it would’ve been destroyed years ago.”
The smiles gradually melted off your faces. Some of you looking down in shame. But all of you tensed. If y’all being instructed to get ready for physical combat wasn’t enough of a sign then Reginald scolding you was another sign.
——✨——
You had all been paired off. Luther and Diego, Klaus and Allison, and then you and Ben. Diego and Luther were practically going at each other’s throats. Allison was having a tough time getting Klaus to take it seriously. Meanwhile, you and Ben were practicing with no intention of hurting each other.
Reginald watched all of you and grew frustrated. He hit his cane against the gong in frustration, stopping all of you.
“I fear for the hostage that has you all as saviors. I’d wish for death.” His words were harsh. “Everyone line up!”
You all did as you were told, planting yourself right next to Ben. Your father eyed each of you. His eyes landing on Ben and then you.
“Number 6! Do you think the enemy will care if Number 8 doesn’t deserve to be hit?”
Ben didn’t respond, only looking up at Reginald with anxiety in his eyes.
The silence irked your father. “I asked you a question.”
Ben shook his head. “No, sir.” He replied meekly.
“Do you think they shall pull their punches when they face off against a child with more power than they can imagine?”
Ben glanced over to you before looking back up at Reginald and shaking his head.
“Then why is it that you seek to send Number 8 into the field with no sense of the danger she’ll be forced to face?”
“I-I’m not—”
“Your excuses and stuttering will endanger the others, Number 6.”
Before Ben could continue, Reginald pulled him from the line-up.
“Number 8, come forward.”
You stepped out of the line-up, facing Ben, who looked like he was becoming increasingly nervous. Reginald approached the gong, smacking again.
“Begin!” He ordered.
However, the two of you didn’t immediately start. Only giving each other scared looks. Ben got into a flimsy stance then you followed suit.
The others all shared uncertain glances towards each other. They knew how sensitive you were and they knew how much Ben was a softie for you. You guys weren’t just gonna fight like your dad wanted.
Reginald huffed. His annoyance flavored the tension that filled the room. Your father then approached the two of you, placing a small bell in between you before going back to his original spot.
“The first of you to ring the bell wins. Failure to participate will result in lack of supper for the night.”
Allison raised an immediate objection. “That’s not fair!”
“Any objections will be met with the same discipline!” He quickly shot her down.
He banged against the gong once more, the two of you tightening up your stances. At this age, Ben’s stature towered over you as did everyone else’s. It was all the more reason that the others were so protective of you during your youths.
You tried making the first move, only to have Ben kick your hand away. You looked up at him in shock. He shrugged, mouthing the words ‘I’m sorry’ before he reached down for the bell. Winning the spar.
‘Why did I let him take it?’ You thought to yourself.
He extended his hand and you had no qualms about taking it.
“Acceptable Number 6! Back to the line!”
You were about to go back as well until your dad stopped you.
“Number 8, stay right there.” He turned to the others. “A unit can only be as strong as their weakest link….and right now that weakest link is Number 8.” He gave you his usual stern look but this time it sent chills down your spine. “Number 8, this lesson will be for you especially. A true hero doesn’t back down from a battle.”
Finally you spoke up. “But I don’t wanna be a hero!” You shouted. Taking everyone by surprise. With everyone looking at you, a tinge of embarrassment washed over you. At least, you think that’s what it was.
“C-can I go to my room…..please?”
Reginald smirked. “Where is this attitude when you need to show it, Number 8?” He didn’t give you an answer. Instead turning to Allison. “Number 3! Step forward!”
Then he placed the bell in between the both of you. You were about to do this again.
The gong rung and you immediately tried going for a quick win but Allison stopped you. “I heard a rumor…”
Of course, you had no recollection of this. You just snapped back into reality seeing Allison holding the bell. The others saw that Allison didn’t even fully rumor you, just placed you in the initial trance.
“Clever thinking, Number 3! Back to the line.”
Allison sent a remorseful look your way. Luther offered Allison a small smile but she didn’t return it. She was too disgusted by what they were being egged on into putting you through.
“Number 4–” Reginald gave Klaus a once over. In the time he’s known you children. He learned that Ben could participate provided he was pressured. Klaus, on the other hand, would not go through with this. “Number 2! Step forward!”
Diego did as he was told. You readied yourself once more. The bell rang. Almost instinctively (almost like you didn’t want to even fight the others) you had the urge to try and grab the bell.
“You know it’s n-not gonna work.” Diego stated. “Come on. You have to fight.” He urged.
You tightened your fists. He shot his arm forward and you leaned back, dodging it in time. Your gaze shot down just in time to catch his foot raising and you slipped back in response. With him off-kiltered, you took the chance to kick the bell off to the side in order to keep it out of reach from Diego. Then you ran towards it, grabbing it and ringing it. You won.
Everyone smiled, Diego included. Now this whole charade can be finished and they could leave—
“Acceptable Number 8! Now, do it again!”
“What?” You said in disbelief. “But I did what you said.”
“Surely you didn’t think one success would be enough to prove you’ve learned, did you? No. The criminals you’ll be faced with will not stop just because you hit them once. Put the bell back and do it again.”
Then he turned to Diego.
“Number 2, I expected better of you. Run the exercise again.”
——✨——
You were exhausted. You had to fight everyone, including Klaus. After all was said and done, your dad told you that your performance was “sufficient” but not enough to earn a meal. Upset, you ran off to your room and hid under your bed.
The first person to find you was Vanya, who came in with some stolen food. She managed to coax you out of your spot and let you rest your head on her thighs. You were still too upset to eat the food she had brought you, only letting out soft sniffles as Vanya rubbed your arm.
“It’s gonna be ok, Y/N.”
“No, it’s not…I hate it here…we’re nothing but prisoners.”
——✨——
Now
You had went back to your room. Not wanting to accidentally face Pogo or anybody else for that matter. Despite the current desire to be left alone, the loud footsteps approaching your room told you otherwise.
The footsteps were only heavily contrasted with the soft knocking. That told you that it was Luther.
“Not really in the mood, Luther.”
Despite this, the door opened slowly and he poked his head in.
“Hey.” He said curtly.
You slowly turned your head to him. “Were there any other lies Pogo needed to get off his chest? Maybe a second group of Umbrella kids like us that he abandoned on the other side of the world? Maybe a portal to another universe? Maybe that our birth mothers never really gave us up and he actually off’d them when they didn’t agree to give us up?”
Luther didn’t respond, merely shrugging. “Let’s go get something to eat.”
——✨——
“So what was life like? You know, outside.” Luther asked, stuffing a muffin into his mouth before drowning it in beer.
You let out an awkward laugh. “Why does it feel like all of you are suddenly asking me that?”
“Well…we all kind of fell off the grid from each other. Then we all got back together and then I realized…I have no clue what you were doing with your life.”
You shrugged. “I was vibing. I was…performing…I was…living. At least I think I was.”
“Whaddya mean?”
You leaned back against your chair. “I don’t know…I guess I always felt like something was missing from it all. Like…something was just keeping me from feeling…fully fulfilled. I thought dad’s death was what I wanted but…felt nothing positive during the funeral. Didn’t even feel like pissing on it like I planned to.”
Luther chuckled. You observed him as he tried to slyly watch the other patrons all in the middle of their life.
“You know, it’s not too late.”
He looked at you. “Hm?”
“For you…to enjoy life. 30 isn’t old you know. Besides, we’re all emotionally stunted beyond belief.” You said, carefully taking a sip of your hot chocolate.
Luther was about to contemplate your suggestion but groaned when he caught sight of the others. The door opened and Klaus came over, bending down to give you a hug from behind.
“Glowbug~🖤”
“Hey, Klaus.”
“Trying a little hair of the dog, are we? Hm?”
“Leave me alone.”
Diego sat down beside Luther. “Give us a minute.”
“Alright.” Klaus replied casually. “Maybe they’ll brood each other to death.” Klaus joked under his breath.
“Look, Dad was wrong to lie to you. To all of us.”
Before Diego could continue, Luther cut him off. “Look, I did my time. All right? Four years up there watching and waiting because he said the world needed me. Four years of nothing but soy paste and processed air because I was naive enough to believe that dads don’t lie to their kids.” His drink hovered below his mouth. “But guess what? The joke’s on me.”
Diego’s fingers tapped against the table as he looked over to you, as if he wanted you to help. You merely shrugged before taking another sip of your drink. Diego then looked over to Klaus and Five before Luther spoke up again.
“Look I’m done. With all of it. With him, with you, with this whole damn…academy.” The last bit was drenched in hatred. “You wanna save the world, you go right ahead. I’m fine to sit here and finish my beer and…get my…buzz on.”
You couldn’t help the laugh the slipped past your lips at Luther’s attempts to be cool and laid back.
“You wanna turn your back on me and your brothers, that's fine. But your sisters deserve better than that…” Diego watched for a reaction from Luther but got nothing but you glanced at Diego before turning back to look at Five and Klaus. Fixing your face in hopes the two of them could give you a hint on what’s happening..
You were here…Vanya was with Leonard…Allison was—
“…Allison deserves better than that.”
Luther perked up. “Allison? What are you talkin’ about?”
“Well, we got ahold of Harold Jenkins’ police file. Turns out Vanya’s boyfriend is a convicted murderer.”
Luther looked to you and you nodded, corroborating the story.
“Who would’ve thought, right? A little hard to trust anyone who wears corduroy.”
“Diego…” you popped in. “Why isn’t Allison with you all?”
Diego turned to you. “She decided to go after Harold Jenkins…alone.”
“What?!”
Luther looked stunned and pissed. “You should’ve led with that! Jesus Christ!” He shot up from the chair leading the charge out of the pub.
The rest of you trailing along. Completely unaware of the horror that you’d come across when you finally reached Vanya and Allison.

Kassandra Hargreeves' Scenes, S01E01: We Only See Each Other at Weddings and Funerals
This has been sitting in my drafts for a while. These last few days, I've been rewriting scenes of The Umbrella Academy to include my OC Kassandra. I tried to include the most important ones for understanding her personality, her relationships with her siblings and her overall storyline.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄✼▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Vanya Returns
“Vanya?” Kassandra’s eyes lit up with joy, or as much joy as could be considering the situation.
It had been years since they had seen each other. The same had been true with all her other siblings, yes, and she had been just as happy to see them too, but with Vanya it was slightly more incredible. After Vanya had written that book, Kassandra had been worried she would stay away from the family forever. But it was good to know she at least cared enough to come to their father’s funeral.
“You’re actually here”, Allison gasped.
Together, they walked down the stairs to greet her. Vanya looked timid, just like she always had, and in this large room, she almost looked like she had shrunken throughout the last few years.
“Hey, Kassandra”, Vanya said quietly. “Hey, Allison.”
It was good to hear that familiar voice of her thoughts again, Kassandra thought. it was good to have the family back together, or at least those that could be there.
“Can I hug you?” she asked.
Vanya nodded. So, Kassandra wrapped Vanya in her arms and held her for a few seconds. In a way, it was like all those years ago. But the hug did not linger like it used to. They parted and the room got colder again. That was when Diego brushed past them.
“What is she doing here?” he grumbled. “You don’t belong here, not after what you did.”
“Diego!” Kassandra scoffed.
“You’re seriously gonna do this today?” Allison asked.
But he just walked away, up the staircase.
“Way to dress for the occasion by the way.”
“At least I’m wearing black.”
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄✼▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Killed Dad
“Isn’t it obvious, Klaus?” Diego sighed. “He thinks one of us killed Dad.”
“Kass, is that true?” Allison asked sharply.
“It’s true”, Kassandra scoffed, kneading her fingers. “His whole mind is buzzing with it. - Now, listen here, Luther: How could you accuse us of something like that? And on the day of the funeral no less! We’re all together in one place again and all you can think of is that one of us might be a murderer? That one of us committed patricide?”
“Great job, Luther”, Diego grumbled. “Way to lead.”
“That’s not what I’m saying”, Luther mumbled.
But Diego was already out the door. Klaus soon followed, loudly proclaiming he’d kill Mom next.
“I wasn’t finished!”
But the whole room emptied out. Soon, the only person left was Kassandra, who looked up at him with large, angry eyes.
“Kass, listen-”
“Oh, I’ll listen”, Kassandra scoffed, “if you tell me why on Earth you’d think that one of us would kill Dad. What has gotten into you since I last saw you?”
“I already told you. He was making remarks about being careful who to trust and… and his monocle, where is his monocle? It has to have been personal, that thing is worthless.”
“And that’s your reason? That’s it?”
“You know just as well as I do that none of you had a good relationship with Dad.”
As if a button had been pushed, Kassandra’s expression turned cold.
“I know that even better than you do, Luther. Now, you listen to me for once. Just because we had a bad relationship with him doesn’t mean we’d kill him. Read the room, you idiot, can’t you tell from their reactions?”
“That’s easy for you to say.”
“You don’t need my telepathy to tell you none of them did it and none of them thought what you said was acceptable in the slightest. This is a funeral and the first time we’ve seen each other in years, so why don’t you try to get your manners together? I’d like for us to be able to all be in the same room for longer than three minutes without an absolute catastrophe. Because I don’t know about you but I liked this family and I’d like for us to pretend to have some cohesion left, at least for the length of the funeral.”
Luther sighed heavily. “But if Dad was killed-”
“No!” Kassandra cut in. “Save it for tomorrow, Luther, if for any day.”
With that, she was also gone from the room.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄✼▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Five is Back
Suddenly, there was a loud crash of thunder. Kassandra almost jumped to the ceiling in surprise. The rumbling continued, but when she looked outside the window, there was no sign of a thunderstorm to be seen. In fact, the noise was coming from the courtyard. Quickly, Kassandra hurried out of her room. Luther and Allison were already out in the hallway.
“What’s going on?” she asked them, but they just shrugged.
So, they hurried to the door to the courtyard where they ran into Diego and Vanya. But when they reached the courtyard itself, they were all frozen for a moment. It was like there was a crack in the sky, blue light whirring around it, distorting the surroundings, making noises like a lightning storm.
“What is it?!” Vanya shouted against the noise.
Allison grabbed Luther by the arm. “Don’t get too close.”
The tension was palpable in the air, crushing even. It made Kassandra wonder if this was a result of her powers or if this crack in the sky had changed the weather.
“Yeah, no shit!” Diego scoffed.
“Looks like some sort of temporal anomaly”, Luther assumed. “Either that or a miniature black hole, one of the two.”
“If it were a black hole, I don’t think we’d still be standing here”, Kassandra quipped.
That was when Klaus’s voice came from behind. He came sprinting and forced his way through the group, a fire extinguisher in hand. First he tried to use it on the anomaly, but when that didn’t work, he hurled it at the thing - and it passed right through.
“What is that gonna do?!” Allison shouted.
“I don’t know, do you have a better idea?!” he squealed.
A loud surge of lightning came from the anomaly. It almost looked like…
“Someone’s on the other side!” Kassandra called.
It was an old man in a suit, eyes widened. He had his hand pressed against the anomaly
Luther grabbed her by the arm and pulled her backwards. “Everyone get behind me!”
“Yeah, get behind us!” Diego affirmed.
“I vote for running”, Klaus suggested, “come on!”
But Kassandra’s eyes were fixed on the anomaly. “They- they look like they’re trying to pass through!”
Really, two hands phased through the anomaly, sticking out to their side. The man’s face started changing rapidly. it became younger and younger. Kassandra’s breath got stuck in her throat. That face! Could it be…? Suddenly, the man fell to the ground, now a boy, wearing a suit that was too large for him. Kassandra used the confusion and dodged around Luther, running to the boy. What if it was? It couldn’t be. It was impossible. She kneeled down next to him.
“Are you okay?”
“... Kass?”
The voice. He knew her name. It had to be. They were his thoughts too. The same structures, the same aura as all those years ago, yet estranged, so far estranged and changed too. The same but different.
“Five!” Kassandra gasped.
She pulled him onto his feet, then wrapped him in a hug. All those years of waiting hadn’t been for nothing. All those years of wishing had come true. Five was finally back.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄✼▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
The Funeral
“He leaves behind a complicated legacy-”
“He was a monster”, Diego cut in.
Klaus let out a burst of laughter, along with a cloud of smoke.
“Diego!” Kassandra hissed, her grip around her umbrella tightening. The rain was pouring down, turning the air cold and uncomfortable.
“He was a bad person and a worse father”, Diego continued without giving a damn. “The world’s better off without him.”
“Diego!” Kassandra repeated more loudly.
“My name is Number Two. Do you know why? Because our father couldn’t be bothered to give us actual names. He had Mom do it.”
“Would anyone like something to eat?” Mom asked, like an automated response.
“No, it’s okay, Mom”, Vanya said.
“Oh, okay.”
Kassandra gripped her umbrella even tighter, the fabric of her gloves digging into her skin.
“Look, if you wanna pay your respects”, Diego announced, stepping into the middle of the circle, almost into the ashes that had once been their father, “go ahead. But at least be honest about the kind of man he was.”
“Diego, be quiet!” Kassandra scolded him. “Can’t this wait until after the funeral? Yes, he wasn’t the best father, but he was our father! We owe our childhood to him.”
“What a great childhood.”
“We owe us to him! He brought us together.”
“And what are we together, huh? A trainwreck.”
A trainwreck. Was that all they were? A trainwreck? No, they had to be more. This couldn’t be all that was left of the family. What had happened to them?
“You should stop talking now”, Luther said grimly.
“You know, you of all people should be on my side here, Number One”, Diego scoffed.

Chapter 6: Serious Discussions and Stakeouts
“Piece of shit,” Diego spits out as he and Y/N get back to the boiler room.
Luther can tell something is very wrong by just looking at his siblings as they return. Diego seems livid, and the glow around their sister was basically broadcasting that something horrible had happened. Anxiety and sadness rolled off her in deep blue shades. So when Diego showed no sign of stopping. Luther knew he needed to step in.
“Do you have any idea what you just did?” Diego says just before Luther intercepts him in what is essentially a violent bear hug and lifts Diego off the ground. “No! Let me-” Diego fights in vain. Luther looks at his sister, a million questions in his head. She shakes her head, and it answers the most important ones. No, Klaus. Nothing good happened. Nothing helpful. Diego keeps fighting. “Get your ape hands off me!” The light around her pulses in intensity as it happens, but she knows stepping in might make things worse.
“I can do this as long as it takes you to calm down,” Luther states.
“Diego…” she starts.
“Fine,” Diego relents.
“Now, wanna tell us what you’re talking about?”
“Our brother’s been pretty busy since he got back. He was in the middle of that shootout at Griddy’s, and then at Gimble Brothers, after the guys in masks attacked the Academy, looking for him,” Diego explains.
“None of which is any of your concern,” Five says.
“Is now,” she says.
“They just killed my friend,” Diego states. She knew that was an understatement, but he clearly didn’t want them to know more than that. He’s hurting, and she knows it. So she moves forward and puts a hand on his arm. Not sure if she is more trying to calm him or reassure herself that he is even somewhere near okay.
“What did you bring back with you?” she says as she looks at Five.
“Who are they, Five?”
“They work for my former employer,” Five explains. “A woman called The Handler. She sent them to stop me. Then soon as Diego’s friend got in their way, well, fair game.”
She is quick to put herself between Diego and their brothers. Her hand goes to his chest to get him to look at her. “I know,” she whispers to Diego. Then she does something she rarely does but knows it usually works with him. She uses the one thing they both have in common. Something he always saw at theirs. Their language. “Su culpa o no. Mantente enfocado.” He glances at her, a bit shocked, but he nods. He looks at her only for a second before his focus is back on Five.
“Now they’re my fair game,” Diego tells Five. “And I’m gonna see to it they pay.”
“That would be a mistake, Diego,” Five tells him. “They’ve killed people far more dangerous than you.” She feels him tense up under her hand, but neither moves. He glances at her again.
“Yeah, we’ll see about that.” Diego storms out. She thinks about following him but decides to give him a minute to himself. She looks from the door to Luther and Five. Luther looks at her with an odd look before he sighs and turns back to Five.
“Former employer?” Luther asks. “What's this really about? And don't give me any of this ‘It's none of your business’ crap, all right?”
“Well, it's a long story.”
“You said you’d explain it all to me,” she insists. “I’ve done everything you asked of me. Long story or not, you owe me.”
“They turned me into the perfect instrument for the rehabilitation of the time continuum,” Five begins to explain. “Or ‘corrections,’ as they called them. I wasn't the only one. There are others like me. Beings out of time, fractured, extracted from the lives that they knew. I don't know how they got there. But I do know that none of them were as good as me. They didn't realize it, but I was biding my time, trying to figure out the right equation so I could get back. If I could just get back, I knew I could stop the apocalypse. Save the world. So I broke my contract.”
“So…you were a hitman?” Luther asks.
“Yes.” Five’s answer was simple and somewhat world-shattering to his siblings.
“Wow,” she says. “You know they shot me, right?”
Five looks at her. He could vaguely remember one of them mentioning that while he was drunk.
She pulls her arm out of her jacket and angrily strips off the bandage, despite Luther trying to stop her.
“Look at it!” she yells at Five. The skin around the neat row of stitches is angry and bruised. It’s unhealed and looks painful. “The only reason I’m not as dead as Detective Patch is that I shoved the barrel of the gun with a superheated fist, and it jammed after that shot because I damaged it.”
Luther sighs and takes the bandages that had been gripped tight in her hand, and rewraps her wound. “You need new bandages.”
“I’ll deal with it at the house.” She looks at Five. “You might think you are protecting us by not telling us these things, that they don't matter, but it just means we have no idea what we are up against, and someone else is going to end up dead. Klaus is missing. Patch is dead. Grace is gone. So you want to keep us from whatever fate you saw, then get your shit together and do what you asked me to do, trust each other. Trust me. Trust us. Now I’m going to find our angry vigilante brother before someone gets stabbed, and then I’m going to look for Klaus, my way.” She leaves, letting the door slam as she does.
Luther finally asks the question that he has been wanting to ask. “A hitman, uh…I mean, you had a code, right?” You didn’t kill just anybody.”
“No code. We took out anyone who messed with the timeline.”
“What about innocent people?”
“It was the only way I could get back here.”
“But that’s murder.”
“Jesus, Luther, grow up. We’re not kids anymore. There’s no such thing as good guys or bad guys. There’s just people goin’ about their lives. But when the world ends all those people die, including our family. Time changes everything.”
When she catches up with Diego as he staking out the donut shop. He doesn’t miss the way the Wisp seems to take on an intense energy beyond even its usual glow. He knew it was because Klaus was still nowhere to be found, even for her little lights. But the Wisp was crackling and buzzing, mirroring the way she can't seem to settle for long. Something he hadn't seen her do much of since they were kids, and Five failed to show back up for dinner. And the next dinner. Every dinner until a couple nights ago. Reginald had scolded her for making her anxieties so obvious for anyone to see. It was a weakness. One that Diego had wanted to stab the man for pointing out. How was pointing out she was scared or anxious going to help her be anything but more scared or anxious? Back then, he'd just tried to help the others distract her. When he was a dumb kid, sometimes that was done by pushing her buttons to piss her off. Make her less weak and more intimidating. In hindsight, that was absolutely the opposite of what she needed.
“He’ll show up,” Diego assures her. “This is Klaus. He always comes crawling back to you.”
“This is different,” she admits. “You saw that motel room, and I can usually at least find him.”
“We’ll find him,” he insists. “We find the people that took him, that shot you, and we’ll get answers.” He doesn’t really want to think too hard about the fact that he had come close to losing her and Eudora in less than a day. Professional hitmen shot two of the only people he cares about, and Eudora is dead. He’s lucky to still have his sister with him. And she doesn’t even seem phased by it. She’s more worried about Klaus. He reaches over and finds her hand and squeezes it. “We will. You’ll see.”
They get back to the Academy, and Diego helps her change her bandages. They hear voices near their rooms. She checks it out with the Wisp.
“Klaus!” She shouts and runs to his room. She nearly tackles him in a hug.
Klaus hugs her back and says to someone or something she couldn't see, "See, I knew Sunshine would care.”
“We were kind of in the middle of something, Y/N,” Five says. She glares at him but looks back to Klaus."I searched the whole damn city TWICE! When we found Patch and that awful room…I didn’t- What happened? Where were you?" A look of absolute confusion covers her face as she takes in his appearance. He looks different. She tries to find every little difference. "What- are you wearing?” She looks at the dog tags. “Who? Where-whatever," she waved all that off and hugs him again. "Don't scare me like that. I didn't think I'd ever see you again."
"For a while, I wasn't sure you would either," Klaus states.
"Oh, Klaus," she hugs him tighter.
“Klaus, where’s the briefcase?”
“What briefcase?” she asks.
“Gone,” Klaus answers. “I destroyed it. Poof.”
“What the hell were you thinking?” Five gets angry.
“What do you care?” Klaus asks.
“What do I care? I needed it, you moron, so I could get back. I could start over.”
“Whoa, hey,” she tries but is ignored again.
“Just Just - Where you going?”
“Interrogation's over. Just leave.”
“What a dick,” she mutters and looks back at Klaus. “I don’t know what he’s mad about, but you-”
“Don’t worry about it,” Klaus says, with a smile that is barely there and doesn’t reach his eyes. “I missed you, Sunshine.”
“Klaus,” her brows furrow in concern at his words, earning a sad chuckle from him.
“Not much light or good where I was, especially after…” his eyes get this far-off look to them, but he seems to shake himself. He gives her a kiss on the forehead. An action she genuinely is confused by. Unbeknownst to her, it was more Ben pushing Klaus not to scare her that made him do it. She stays with Klaus but uses the Wisp to check on Diego. When she notices he is leaving she goes after him. Klaus follows her.
“You look like shit,” Diego tells him. She rolls her eyes.
“Why, thank you,” Klaus replies.
“Where are you going?” she asks.
“Yeah, where you going?” Klaus repeats.
“Nope,” Diego says.
“What?” Klaus asks.
“Diego,” she starts.
“You need sleep,” he points at her and then at Klaus. “And I’m not giving you a ride.”
“Oh, come on, man,” Klaus says.
“I’m fine, and I barely even used my powers to find him. I’m going with you,” she says.
“He can drive himself,” Diego argues.
“He can’t drive,” she answers. “Please, Diego.”
Diego looks between the two, and of course, Diego caves. Klaus wonders when exactly that became a thing as he goes to get his things. Sure, the two weren’t trying to kill each other before, but he wasn’t gone that long for them. Diego knows it's not even worth arguing now. Not with the sad and desperate look on his sister’s face. She made him worry more about Klaus than he usually did. So he agrees.
Both Y/N and Diego were weirded out by how quiet their brother was. She keeps sending them both worried looks.
"You okay?" Diego asks their unusually silent brother. He doesn't get an answer.
"Klaus?" She asks. He just shakes his head.
"Wow, this is a first. Our brother Klaus is silent."
"Diego," she chides him.
"Last time you were this quiet, we were 12."
She punches Diego in the arm, but it didn't deter him.
"Ran down the stairs wearing Grace's heels, tripped over, and broke your jaw. How long was it wired shut for?"
"Eight weeks," Klaus answers.
"Eight glorious weeks of bliss," Diego says.
"That's enough, Diego." She glares at him.
"Hey, just…just drop me off here."
"Klaus…" she starts.
"You sure you’re okay, man?" Diego asks him. Klaus just gets out of the car.
"Was that necessary,” she says, her annoyance obvious in her tone. “Bringing that up? He is clearly in a bad state, and you just-"
"Are you going to keep lecturing, or are we going to go after him?"
"You're an asshole," she says and gets out of the car and goes into the VFW after Klaus.
“Just go away, please,” Klaus tells them.
“You know I’m not going to do that,” she says.
“Not until you talk to us,” Diego states.
“Is that a threat? You threatening me?”
“Hey, guys. This bar? It's for vets only.”
“I am a vet,” Klaus says.
“Really?” the guy chuckles. “Where'd you serve?”
“None of your business,” Klaus replies.
“You got balls comin' in here, pretendin' you're one of us.” The guy says.
“Oh, I have every right to be here, just like you.”
“Asshole.”
Diego steps in to try and prevent a fight. “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.”
“Klaus, I need you to talk to me,” his sister says. “Tell me what’s going on.”
“I did serve, Sunshine,” Klaus shows her the dog tags, and despite her confusion, she nods.
“Okay, that’s-” She starts to say they’d talk about that in the car, but she sees Diego trying to keep things from completely going to shit.
Klaus goes to drink more.
“Klaus,” she grabs his arm.
“Slow down, Marine.” Diego tries to help defuse the situation with one of the bar’s patrons. “Alright, my brother's just had a few too many. Let's just call it a day; all go our own way.”
“Sure thing,” the guy says.
“Thank you,” Diego says. “Klaus-”
“As long as you apologize,” the guy says.
Klaus giggles. Y/N physically winces.
“Fine.”
“I'm sorry,” Diego says. “He's sorry. We're all sorry.” She nods. “So, are we good?”
“I wanna hear him say it,” the guy says, gesturing to Klaus.
“Hey, man, I'm just trying to -” Diego starts, but Klaus cuts him off.
“No, no,” Klaus says. He pulls his sister’s hand off of his arm and walks towards the man. “He's right, Diego.”
“Oh, no,” she murmurs to herself. She knows that tone. She could feel everything was about to go sideways.
“He's right,” Klaus repeats. “He's right.” Y/N looks at Diego, her eyes wide as Klaus adds, “I'd like to apologize that you are depriving some village of their idiot!”
Diego shouts as a fight breaks out.
“Don’t even think about it!” Diego shouts at her, but she ignores him and joins the scuffle. A guy goes to grab her, and without hesitation, Diego throws a knife. “Touch her, and I’ll end you.” She rolls her eyes but doesn’t argue.
It ends with all of them being thrown out.  Klaus laughs when they finally get back in the car and head to where Diego had wanted to go in the first place. To stake out the Donut shop.
“You got a big mouth. You know that?” Diego tells Klaus.
“Oh, wow. What a truly shocking revelation, Diego.”
“Everything's a big joke to you, right?” Diego says. “Will you-stop it-” Diego takes the rest of Klaus’ stash from him. “Why are you putting this shit in your body?"
Klaus blows a raspberry at him. “Hey, Sunshine, what do you think?” he shows her his newest tattoo, a military one.
“Klaus…” she starts.
“Check this out.” Diego pulls up his shirt and pats his own abs. “My body is a temple.” Y/N can’t help but snort out a laugh. Diego glares at her but continues.
“All that shit you do,” Diego says, “it's just weakness.”
“Oh, wow,” Klaus replies, “Well, weakness feels so good.”
“What's goin' on with you? Huh?” Diego asks, starting to really lose his patience.
“Diego,” She cautions. The glimmer that always surrounds her seems to hum along with its usual melancholic hue. Both her brothers know it means she’s worried if either one was paying attention. “Please don’t-”
“Don't hit me, asshole!”
“Guys!” she shouts, but they ignore her.
“Don't tell me everything is all right because I saw you in there. You were crying like a baby!”
“DIEGO!” she wants to slap him. A spark of red light flashes, but it settles almost as fast. It turns deep blue, as Klaus explains.
“Because I lost someone!” Klaus sighs. “I lost someone. The only…” he sighs again. “The only person I've ever truly loved more than myself. Cheers.” He puts a pill in his mouth.
“Well, you're luckier than most,” Diego tells him. “When you lose someone, at least you can see them whenever you want.”
“I know it hurts, Klaus,” she says. “But you can talk to us. You can talk to me. You know I’m always going to have your back.”
“You really were going to fight that guy, not even with your powers,” Klaus says. “Just going to jump right in.”
“If someone hadn’t stopped me,” she says, glaring at Diego.
“He was twice your size, you weren’t using your powers, and you're still injured,” Diego states.
“You’d still be mad if I had used them,” she argues. “And I’m fine, Diego.”
Earning a chuckle from Klaus. “She’s right. You’d be pissed either way.”
“Because you started a bar fight in a room of guys that fought for a living.”
"Fine, I'll ask," Klaus mumbles. His sister and brother share a confused glance before Klaus looks over at her. "You're injured?"
"Yeah, she got shot by those psychos that took you."
"They shot you?" Something in Klaus's tone and the way he starts moving closer and reaching out for her has Diego on edge. And she looks between the two, alarm clear in her eyes and the glow around her. Klaus grips her arm a bit too tight in the process. "Where? Is it-"
"Whoa, Klaus, buddy," Diego goes to stop him, but their sister shakes her head. She manages to pry his hand off her and cups them between her own.
"Diego has been exaggerating the whole thing since it happened." She ignores the grunt of protest from said man. "I needed a few stitches, but it's nothing major." She pulled her jacket off and her shirt sleeve up. Ignoring a glare from Diego as she undid the bandage to show Klaus she really was fine. It looked as bad as it had before, but it was taken care of and on the way to healing. Or it would be if she left it wrapped. Something in her broke at the way Klaus seemed to study her carefully before finally relaxing.
"You really went through some shit, didn't you?” Diego asks his brother before rolling his eyes and swatting Y/N's hand away from where she was trying to keep her sleeve up and replace the bandage single-handedly.
"You wouldn't believe it if I told you," Klaus states. "Try not to get shot again. Okay, Sunshine? I don't need any more ghosts."
"Going to take a lot more than some loony toons in masks to end us, Klaus," she assures him.
"Good."
"And next time I see them, I'm putting Wisp's fist through an eye socket and will boil their brains inside their own skulls," she states. "What?" She asks when Diego stares at her with abject horror on his face.
"That's dark," Klaus chuckles, "Especially for you, Sunshine."
"Well, they tried to take not one but two brothers from me, shot up the academy, scared V, and dropped a chandelier on Luther."
"And shot you," Diego adds.
"That too. So I will not hesitate next time."
"You are scary now,” Klaus smirks. “And I kinda love that for you."
"Seriously?" Diego glares at Klaus.
"What? You always thought she needed to be a better brawler. Well, here she is."
"Yeah, well,” Diego shook his head. “You didn't have to see it."
"I would pay to," Klaus admits.
"Klaus!" Diego glares at him
"What?” Klaus looks at him like her boiling someone's brain is the most logical action possible in their situation. “She'd kill for me. Am I not supposed to find that sweet?"
"Sometimes I forget how insane this family is, even for like half a second."
“That's our man,” Diego says as they see Hazel getting into his car.
“Hey, I know that guy,” Klaus states.
“What?” Y/N stares at him.
“How could you possibly know that?” Diego asks.
“He and a really angry lady tortured me,” Klaus informs them. “I barely got out with my life.”
Diego starts the car and follows him.
“We gotta get this guy.”
“Stay in the car,” Diego tells them once they get to the motel.
“What are you talking about,” Klaus argues. “This guy tortured me!”
“I have a plan,” Diego says and gets out of the car.
“Well, that plan better include me,” she tells him as she gets out.
“It does not, so you stay here.”
“It’s cute you think that will even remotely work,” Klaus says from the car. “Especially on Sunshine.”
He doesn’t even bother with a response, just walks toward the motel stairs.
“How long should we let him think he’s getting his way?”
“15 more seconds? Yeah?” She says.
“Works for me,” Klaus nods and gets out of the car.
“So what exactly is the plan here, big guy?” Klaus says as he walks up behind Diego, just as Diego moves to rush the noisy motel room.
“I told you to wait in the car,” Diego complains, not even bothering to look back. He shakes his head when he hears his sister laugh.
“Yeah,” Klaus states. “But you also told me that licking a nine-volt battery would give me pubes.
“We were eight,” Diego counters.
“You believed him, even when I told you he was being a jerk,” Y/N shakes her head. Diego glares at them.
“What?” Klaus says. “Come on.”
“For once, I need you to listen to me, okay?”
“Yeah, right,” she shakes her head.
Diego continues. “Now, go back to the car. If I don't come out in two minutes, that means I'm probably dead.”
“Not happening,” she states.
“That happens. Go get help,” Diego says.
She stands in front of him. “Hi, I’m help and I’m already here.”
“Then stay here,” he says.
“Just let me-” he is already heading into the motel room before she can offer to do it her way.
A car speeds past and gunshots ring out. Diego shouts. Klaus pulls Diego back almost on instinct, but a bullet pierces Diego's arm.
“Oh man,” Klaus says as Diego attempts to catch his breath. “See? You used to think I was an idiot.”
“I still think you’re an idiot,” Diego replies.
“You’re both idiots.” She uses the Wisp to make sure the coast is clear, including the motel room, and ushers them both to the car. But the car is useless.
“Was this all part of your master plan?” Klaus snarks.
“Shut up,” Diego glares.
She curses their luck in multiple languages before turning back to Diego to get a better look at his arm. Part of her wants to find them and follow them with the Wisp. She wants to make good on the threat of boiling their brains. But she needs to prioritize. She can find them later. Now, she needs to take care of her brother’s bleeding arm.
"Oh yay, now we have matching gunshot wounds," she grumbles. She takes one of his knives, and despite his protest, she cuts his sleeve. He won't admit it out loud, but that distracted him for a moment longer than it should have, especially as he watches her flex her fingers. Her eyes glow as she heats her hand, and he shakes his head and focuses.
“Get it over with,” he grits out.
“Don’t rush me,” she says. “Gonna have my pretty li’l handprint forever on your arm soon enough. Just give me a second.” She looks up from his wound to meet his eyes. “You might want to bite down on something.” When he doesn’t, she rolls her glowing eyes. “Fine, but don’t blame me if you crack a tooth.” She clamps her hand down on the wound, her fingers curling around to make sure it covers. Her unheated hand moves to his neck to keep him from moving too much. She can feel his muscles go tight and the way his body fights her. Klaus helps hold him still. She shakes the heat out of her hand when its done.
“Breathe,” she tells him. Her now cooled hand moved to the side of his face, brushing away tears she knows are there because of how much it hurt when she does that. “Stay with me. Okay? We need you.” He nods, dropping his forehead to hers.
Y/N cannot believe she let them talk her into this. She braces herself as Klaus drives the ice cream truck faster than it is most likely supposed to go. She tries not to think about the fact she is literally sitting in an injured Diego’s lap. His uninjured arm grips her tight. She just keeps mentally repeating that she loves her brothers and this is for the best. She superheats her grip and digs her fingers into the panel in front of them as she braces as they hit Hazel and Cha-Cha’s car. She is on her feet and pulling Diego after her as soon as the vehicle stops.
“Five!” Luther calls out for Five.
“You still with me?” She asks Diego as they stumble out of the truck.
“My shoes hurt,” he answers. She looks up and meets Klaus’ gaze. Luther rushes over to them to try and get them out of harm's way.
“What the hell are you guys doing here?” Luther asks.
She scans the area with the Wisp as they hurry to the car. “Five isn’t here. We need to go, now!” she shouts to them.
“Luther, go!” Klaus shouts. “Go!” They make as quick a getaway as the old car can handle.
In the car, she looks at Diego. “You still with me?”
“Claro que sí,” he says.
“Siga siendo así.” She grins.
Translations:
"Su culpa o no. Mantente enfocado" His fault (or guilt) or not. Stay focused.
“Claro que sí." Yes, of course.
“Siga siendo así.” Keep it that way.

The Umbrella Academy, Ep.3x06 – Marigold
This episode has the main characters pretty much in their own storylines, so I will deal with each of them one at a time.  But this episode actually raises more questions than answers.  I wonder if we’ll find out the whole truth about the Obsidian/Oblivion hotel this season, as it seems to be tied more into the bigger picture of the series as a whole.
But before we deal with what’s happening in the present, we need to take a look back into the past a bit; where we find out why Pogo is no longer with Reginald.  It turns out that, during one of the training sessions, Reginald and Pogo had a falling out.  Reginald is training The Sparrows to go somewhere he refers to as the other side (which I think we see in this episode).  Pogo feels that the Sparrows are not ready and, well, he’s trying to make sure they don’t get killed.  So, Reginald sacked him.  However, before Pogo goes, he gives Marcus a case full of vials.  This, it turns out, is the medication the Sparrows used to keep Reginald complacent.
Getting back to the present, Klaus, after finding out about his powers, decides to go talk to Reginald. It seems like Reginald is planning on helping Klaus; but ends up killing him instead.  This is for experimentation.
Luther also isn't in this episode much. Basically, we have a scene at the beginning and at the end. At the beginning, we find that he spent the night with Sloane. And he's no longer sure that he has a place with The Umbrellas anymore. Fei knocks on Sloane's door and Sloane tries to hide the fact that Luther is in the bedroom.  However, Fei points out to Sloane that they share a bedroom wall and Sloane has a very squeaky bed. Anyway, Fei says that Ben wants to talk with Luther. And it's an interesting moment because Luther is given a chance to explain to Ben why they all are kind of fixated on him. Not that Ben really cares.
What Ben does care about is that, according to Ben, the Sparrows need someone like Luther to lead the team.  And then he gives Luther a uniform.  Fei makes it clear that she knows Ben is up to something, but he won’t tell her what. If he’s trying to sow discord into the Umbrellas, well he doesn’t need to do much.
Meanwhile, Lila and Diego discover their kid is missing and it looks like he’s gone through a secret passage located in the Buffalo Suit.  However, it’s less of a passage more of going through the looking glass, as Lila and Diego find themselves in the mirror version of the Buffalo Suit. Furthermore, the hotel itself is different.  While trying to figure out where the kid, Stan I think, went; Lila lets Diego know that she was lying.  Turns out she wanted to find out what Diego would be like if he were a father before furthering a relationship.  Anyway, cutting to the chase; Diego wants to find a way out and rings a bell that a sign told them not to ring.  All of a sudden, a creature in Samurai Armor attacks and manages to cut two of Diego’s fingers off. Diego and Lila manage to get back to their reality and shut the door before the Samurai can kill them.  There they find Stan, but then another wave hits and Stan disappears.
While this is going on, Five is trying to talk with Pogo.  However, Pogo is having none of it and leaves the club.  Five follows Pogo to his house and Pogo gives him a chance to explain as Five must be stupid or desperate.  Five tells him about the timeline they come from, the tattoo, and how is older self mentioned the word Oblivion.  Pogo is able to fill in some of the details.  Pogo doesn’t know what Oblivion is exactly, but he does know it has something to do with the mission Reginald was training The Sparrows for. Also, the tattoo is based on some of the drawings that Reginald showed Pogo, that has something to do with Oblivion as well.
Finally, we get to Viktor and Allison.  It turns out that Allison was being honest in that she did help Harlan escape the hotel. Viktor meets up with the two and tells Harlan that he’s going to try to help him.  However, Viktor isn’t sure how to take the power back.  Harlan thinks he might have an idea.  Allison, who’s not happy with this idea, tells Viktor he has a day or that she’s going to use her powers to make Viktor go back with her.  Maybe she hasn’t learned from the whole Luther thing.
The thing is that, while Harlan isn’t sure how Viktor can take his powers back, he has consciously lived with the powers longer and does have a better idea how to use them. Basically, Viktor has used the powers based on the sounds around him that he could hear, but he needed to deep digger into the energy around them.  The, ah, first attempt doesn’t go well and is stopped by Allison as she’s afraid it will kill Viktor.  However, Viktor makes it clear that he doesn’t want to stop.
Angry, Allison storms away and then has a conversation with her subconscious in the form of Ray.  In this conversation, we find out that Ray died several years before and, uh, didn’t have as good of a life as Allison hoped it would be.
Meanwhile, Harlan is getting Viktor to tap more into his power.  And, long story short, Viktor manages to take back the power and it knocks Viktor unconscious.
Later, Harlan asks Allison what happens to him now and Allison tells him to go home.  Harlan then says he understands why Allison doesn’t like him, which she doesn’t get at first.  But when Harlan continues to talk, it makes Allison realize that it was him that killed their mothers.  At which point she not only accuses them of killing the mothers, but being the reason why Claire doesn’t exist anymore.  Though, in fairness, they had changed the timeline so much at this point there no reason to assume that there would be a Claire even if Allison had been born.  Of course, as it has become very clear that Allison and reason are no longer on speaking terms, it’s no surprise that this is her conclusion.
In the end, Allison drives to the Sparrow Academy to deliver Harlan.  And I’m hoping he’s just unconscious, because if she killed him….well, nothing gives Allison the right to play judge, jury, and executioner.  I truly wonder if the writers’ plan is to turn Allison into a villain, because it’s becoming harder and harder for her to just come back from this.
And then, just to make everything worse, she sees Luther in the Sparrow outfit.

The Umbrella Academy: Firecracker - Valhalla (15/30)
Tumblr media
The Umbrella Academy Masterlist
warnings: substances (alcohol)
word count: 3678
"You know, I'm starting to get the feeling that dad' avoiding us.", Five said as he Lila, Diego and Nailah watched Reginald's car drive away.
"Hate to be the boring one guys, but it's time to get. the hell out of here.", Lila said seeing security slowly show up.
"When you say 'we' who exactly are you referring to?", Five asked with a biting tone.
Nailah shot Five a warning look but he ignored her.
"Not a lot of ambiguity in that sentence.", Lila scoffed.
"Listen, I don't know who you are but where you came from, but whatever it is, I advise you to return posthaste.", Five spat at Lila with a dangerous spark in his eyes.
"She's right, Five. We need to get out of here.", Diego tried to intervene.
"I just saved your life you kinder-shit.", Lila said offended at Five's accusations. "If I hadn't stepped in all that would be left of you is that pretty suit your girlfriend bought you."
Five scoffed: "And that's the problem. You're too good. You ask too many questions. You know too much. And you fight like you know what you're doing."
"Five.", Nailah warned.
"No, no. He's got a point.", Diego agreed.
"So I know how to handle myself, and that makes me the bad guy?", Lila asked offended.
"Whoever you are, you're in my way. If I see you again I will kill you.", Five announced.
Nailah walked away annoyed at Five's carelessness muttering something about God testing her. Five's judging gaze lingered a moment longer on Lila then he followed his sister.
Even though Nailah was short she made huge steps and Five had to jog lightly to catch up to her.
"Why are you mad?", he asked confused.
"Seriously, Five? I told you mere hours ago: control yourself and don't give out too much information. And what do you do? You just revealed your greatest advantage, that you don't trust her."
"So? Now she's out of my way."
"Oh my God, Five. This is literally the most rookie mistake you can make. I really expected more form the apparently best assassin in the whole timeline.", Nailah scoffed.
Back at Elliott's house where Luther was making a gigantic pan of eggs Diego kept muttering: "No, no, no I don't understand. They keep following me."
"Who?", Luther asked.
"Those Dutch psychopaths."
"They're Swedish you idiot.", Five corrected leaning against the doorframe with his hands in his pockets. "Hired guns paid to eradicate us before we do any more damage to this timeline."
"Great. Why don't you call them and tell them we're here? Sine you like to eradicate any scrape of our advantage.", Nailah commented venomously pouring herself a cup of coffee. Five followed her figure but kept his lips pressed in a fine line. Nailah hummed in satisfaction.
"Yeah, but why now?  I mean I was fine for three, four months before you showed up.", Diego snapped his fingers in frustration while ignoring Nailah's comments.
"Yeah, I was here for a year and no one messed with me.", Luther agreed.
"Same here. Quite like a grave.", Nailah added taking a sip from her coffee.
Five inhaled annoyed: "Even if it was my fault, which it isn't, we only have six days before the end of the world, and the closest we've gotten to dad was that driveway at the consulate."
"Well, that's not entirely true...", Luther admitted. He explained to his siblings how right after he had arrived in Dallas he began saving money and as soon as he had enough he travelled to their family home. He found Reginald hosting parties and with a raging hatred for children. Apparently he insulted Luther and threw him out.
"That's pathetic.", Diego commented at the end of the story.
"Yeah, well at least he didn't shank my ass.", Luther bit back shovelling his scrambled eggs into his mouth. Nailah shuddered at the sight. She hated eggs with passion.
"No, bro. he shanked your heart. That's way worse.", Nailah said taking another sip of her coffee.
"God morning, Nailah. You look... nice.", Elliott said. Nailah threw him a confused smile. "Is that my bathrobe?", Elliott asked from the doorway looking at the garment Luther had put on. "No?", Luther tried.
"Look, who cares what he shanked? He knows something about time travel.", Five said.
"Wait, why don't you just do your thing and time travel us out?", Elliott asked raising his hand.
"Anyone care to explain?", Five asked pacing around the room.
"First time he tried he got lost in the apocalypse. Second time he ended up as the 13-year old self, which I aged up, without getting any gratitude might I add. And the third time he tried our whole family ended up scattered across 3 years in Dallas.", Nailah explained.
"Possibly triggering doomsday.", Five added.
"Oh. You aged him up?", Elliott asked.
Nailah shrugged: "Yeah. He's not the only smart one."
"Of course not. That's not what I was implying. I mean I knew you were smart, I just thinks it's impressive for you...", Elliott started to stutter.
Five interrupted him annoyed: "She gets it, Elliott."
Nailah shot Five an irritated glare: "I can speak for myself, Five. Thank you Elliott. It's nice to be appreciated.", The last part was again directed at Five accompanied by an expressive look.
"You're missing the big picture. Dad is the ringleader of a sinister cabal that's planning to kill the president.", Diego interrupted before Five could say something back.
"What?", Luther asked in between bites.
"Ignore him.", Five sighed. "Look, the way I see it we only have one option."
"Oh yeah? And what is that?", Luther scoffed.
"It's time to get the umbrella academy back together.", Five announced.
"Family meeting. Yay.", Nailah said dryly picking up an orange from the counter.
"Okay then, can one of you get Allison please?", Luther asked shoving even bigger bites of scrambled eggs from the seemingly never-ending portion.
"You two still a thing?", Diego asked with a knowing smirk.
Luther crooked his head. Diego leaned forward: "Do we need to talk."
"No, she's married.", Luther mumbled.
Nailah choked on her coffee: "What?"
"Whoa, dude. That's rough.", Diego commented.
Luther send him an ironic smile: "I can handle it."
Nailah wiped the coffee off her chin muttering: "How does she get a husband in every single timeline and I can't even get a date?"
Elliott began stammering again but before he could form any word he got interrupted by Five: "Don't even think about it Elliott. I'll go get Allison."
"Can you get Vanya without ehh, squeezing her to death?", Five threw at Luther walking past him while ignoring the sceptical look from Nailah.
"I'll try.", Luther answered dryly and Five blitzed away.
"What should I do?", Elliott asked clearly hoping for a green signal from the other Hargeeves brothers.
"Prepare for company.", Diego smiled. "Oh and listen to Five. Nailah's off limits."
Nailah scoffed but smiled lightly. She had missed the protectiveness of her siblings a slightest bit.
"Y'all know, jell-o used to be delicacy. You know, in order to make it you gotta boil down a whole mess of hooves, you know horses, cows, pigs, it doesn't matter. But not everybody just has a mess of hooves laying around. It wasn't until a couple of sassy New Yorkers figured out how to dry it out so the rest of us could have a chance to enjoy this ambrosia.", Elliott explained excitedly pointing at the colourful tray of jello-o in front of them on the table.
Luther had brought Vanya without triggering her powers and she was now sprawled on the couch with a bored expression.
"if we have some, will you shut up?", Diego asked dryly.
"Maybe. Here. Nailah?", Elliott handed the disgusting looking food to Nailah.
"Thank you, Elliott, but I'm vegan.", she said trying to hide her disgusted face.
Diego scoffed: "Since when? I saw you yesterday devour a whole salami."
Nailah looked at him with venom in her eyes: "Since this morning."
"Oh, okay. Sorry.", Elliott said and handed the bowl to Luther who being Luther just accepted and began eating.
"How you feeling?", Luther asked Vanya.
"Pretty shitty, to be honest."
"Where would you say you are on a scale from one to ending all life on this planet?", Diego asked flicking his knives.
"Really? That's what you chose to go with?", Nailah scoffed.
"Diego, put the knife away, you idiot. She's fine.", Luther hissed.
"The last time I saw this one she had me suspended mid-air sucking the life out of me with energy tentacles. I think I'm allowed a little time to process.", Diego pointed the knife at Luther.
Nailah fished it out of Diego's hand as Elliott intercepted: "I would love to see an energy tentacle."
"Shut up, Elliott.", Nailah, Diego and Luther said in a chorus.
"Look, I don't remember what I did but I'm sorry. If it means anything.", Vanya said silently.
"It does.", Diego smiled at her lightly. "Just going through a lot right now."
"Oh my God.", Nailah mumbled leaning her head on her fist.
"If you don't care you can just go.", Diego shot her an angry look.
"Oh, I care. You just chose the perfect moment. But go on.", she bit back.
"There's this girl that I like.", Diego continued. "I though she liked me but it turns out she just.."
Diego got interrupted by a knock on the front door. "Oh thank God.", Luther sighed quickly standing up.
The group stood on the balcony watching Allison and Klaus enter the building after Five. Both were completely drunk and kept mumbling word about death in French.
"Oh wow. I know this is impossible but did we all get sexier?", Klaus lulled taking off his sunglasses.
For a moment the siblings looked at each other. Klaus was maybe right. Diego had grown out his hair, which was a pretty daring change, Luther had finally found clothes that looked good on him, Vanya as well. And Nailah, well she'd always loved fashion and knew how to present herself.
Five's gaze flew over his siblings and with slight satisfaction he had to admit that Klaus indeed was right. His eyes stammered for a longer second on Nailah's wild curls covering her face. The 60s makeup and style suited her even though Five knew she absolutely hated the pants and blouses.
Diego chuckled lightly seeing Klaus and Nailah send Allison an air-kiss just as they had done when they were kids. "Vanya.", Allison sighed.
"I can't believe I have another sister.", Vanya chuckled walking down the stairs to hug Allison. Nailah followed and after nodding as a response Allison's questioning look, Allison hugged Vanya back.
"Oh you are drunk.", Diego scoffed smelling Klaus' breath.
"Yeah no, just a little, a few..", Klaus stammered and giggled. "Oh that's so sweet.", he grabbed his heart seeing Allison and Vanya hug. He wrapped his arms around them and waved for Nailah to join.
"Klaus. Is Ben here?", Five asked.
"Oh, no. No, unfortunately ghosts can't time travel.", Klaus stretched his back. Nailah narrowed her eyes and crooked her head not really believing.
"All right then. Let's get down to business.", Five announced not reacting to Nailah's questioning look.
"Alright, first off I wanna say I'm sorry.", Five began as soon as everyone had found a seat in the living room area at Elliott's. "I know I really screwed the pooch on this whole going-back-in-time-and-getting-stuck thing. But the real kick in the pants here is we brought the end of the world back with us."
"Oh my God, again?", Klaus explained pouring himself and Nailah a rather full glass of whiskey.
When he saw all the not surprised faces he sighed: "All of you knew? Why am I always the last one to find out about the end of the ... Oh my God! My cult is gonna be so pissed, Five! I told them we had until 2019."
"We have until Monday. Six days.", Five announced unphased.
"Is it Vanya?", Klaus asked taking a sip.
"Klaus!", Allison exclaimed.
"Well, it is usually Vanya. No offence.", Nailah agreed taking her glass from Klaus.
"None taken.", Vanya smiled at Nailah. "Do you have any leads,  Five?"
"Only one.", Diego handed Five a file with the picture of Reginald Hargreeves on the grassy knoll.
"Diego, Nailah and I have been trying to talk to dad about what exactly this means. So far we've got nothing.", Five explained.
"Not nothing.", Diego intercepted to which Nailah groaned. "He's planning to kill Kennedy."
"Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Really not important.", Nailah said in a sing-songy voice and took another great gulp from her glass.
Before Diego could answer Five interfered: "We don't know who or what sets doomsday in motion. Could be Kennedy, could be something entirely independent. But if we know something changes the timeline we have to make it right."
"Yeah but how if we don't know what's broken?", Allison asked.
"Come on. Do the math. We know dad's having some shady-ass meetings with some shady-ass people. We know. he's on the grassy knoll in three days to kill the president. So I think we all. know what we have to do."
"Kill dad." "Find dad.", Diego and Five said at the same time and looked at each other confused. Nailah chuckled and Allison raised her eyebrows.
"None of us are supposed to be here right?", Vanya asked. "I mean what if it's us?  Has anyone here done anything to screw up the timeline?"
Klaus shook his head, Nailah crooked hers with her lips in a fine line, Diego stared at the carpet, Allison poured herself more vodka and Luther raised his eyebrows. Five sighed heavily and rubbed his temples.
"Diego's been stalking Lee Harvey Oswald.", Luther admitted.
"You're working for Jack Ruby! And Nailah's an assassin!", Diego defended himself.
"Hey! I've never killed anyone important enough to mess with the timeline! You wanted to change the whole history!", Nailah send the accusation back to Diego.
"Allison's been very involved in local politics.", Klaus said.
"Okay, you started a cult.", she shot right back. Klaus growled at her and hissed.
"I'm just a nanny on a farm. I don't have anything to do with all that.", Vanya said.
"Well, maybe you do we just don't know it yet.", Allison said.
"Yeah, for someone who just ended the world your life seems awfully... quiet.", Nailah added.
Diego whistled sharply making his siblings look in his direction: "Listen to yourselves. Everything in our new life is. connected to Kennedy. That can't be a coincidence. Luther works for Ruby, Allison's protesting against the government, Nailah's an assassin, dad on the grassy knoll, Klaus is... doing something weird and perky but probably related. See clearly we were all send here for one special reason: saving John Fitzgerald Kennedy."
Nailah laughed frantically at that while the rest of the siblings began arguing. Five just stood there with a concentrated look on his face.
"Guys, you all die.", Five admitted silently. "I was there, I saw it. And I wanna forget it but I can't. I saw Russian nukes vaporise the world with all of you in it in a war that never happened until we brought it here. And Hazel gave his life to save us, so you may need. to shut up and listen to me. I don't know if the things we've experienced here are all connected. I don't know if there's a reason for everything. But dad will. We need to talk to him before everyone and everything we know is dead."
"Okay, I'm out.", Luther said and just left the room.
"Did you even hear me, Luther?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I did. I heard a 58-year old man who still wants his daddy to come and fix everything. Well, you can. count me out. It's time we all. grew the hell up."
Diego immediately followed him with Nailah not far behind. "Save it, Diego.", Luther snapped at them.
Five blitzed away and appeared before Luther on the stairs. "No one leaves until we figure this out.", he announced.
Luther sighed and just threw Five over the railing. Five blitzed away before he could hit the ground.
"Luther!", Nailah exclaimed sliding on the railing and waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. "What was that?"
"Oh come on. He had it coming."
Nailah shrugged: "Fair enough."
"Where has all that heroism gone, big guy?", she asked.
"Well, I think I've left it back in 2019.", he answered.
"Come on, Luther. You can't just leave like that. We need you."
"I don't care, Nai."
Nailah let out a sigh. "Don't worry, I'll handle it.", Diego placed a hand on her shoulder and followed Luther.
Before Nailah could return upstairs she spotted Lila running down the street in red doc martens. Not soon after she saw Five follow. Without thinking much Nailah decided to follow them.
Nailah had been following Five who had been following Lila for over an hour. Finally Lila stopped at an old paintshop. She smashed the window of the door with a piece of wood and entered the industry part of the abandoned building. Five was quick to follow and blitzed inside. Nailah quietly opened the door and pressed herself against the wall. She peeked slightly into the corridor to see Five appears before Lila.
"What's your game, crazy lady?", he asked putting his hands in his pockets.
"Who cares? You said if you saw me again you'd kill me.", Lila smiled widely.
"Oh, I remember.", Five chuckled darkly.
"Well, come on then big talker. Let's get this done."
Five blitzed away appearing on Lila's other side. He kicked in the direction of her shin but she jumped aiming her leg at his head. Five ducked but she still got his nose. Five grunted in pain and Lila ran away chuckling. Five followed and soon he appeared in front of Lila again. Nailah kept a safe distance to them. She had a perfect view on them from behind the paint barrels while being certain they couldn't see her.
Five kicked, twirled in the air and kicked again towards Lila's face. She skilfully evaded all his attacks.  Five switched his turning direction and planted a kick towards Lila's face. Then he tried to punch her in the stomach, side and head but all attacks were blocked. Lila grabbed his jacket and rammed her knee into Five's stomach. Nailah felt her fingertips pickle. She was going to intervene if she saw Five needed help but she had to keep the advantage of her position as long as possible.
Lila tried again to kick Five in the face and he ducked, slid towards her and tried to make her lose balance. Nailah saw him deliver another series of punched. She grunted annoyed when she saw it was the same as moments ago. Rookie.
Five kicked Lila in the stomach and she disappeared behind a table. Five followed but she was actually gone. Nailah ruffed her eyebrows. Five's gaze jumped to where she was hiding, clearly sensing her powers sucking in the heat in. from the room. He saw the sparks in her eyes and his corners twitched lightly. Nailah grinned back, her eyes now clearly full of fire. Nearly undetectably Five shook his head signalling for her to stay hidden. Nailah nodded.
"I'm waiting.", Lila chirped from another side of the room. Five twirled around.
He blitzed to the spot where Lila was but the only thing left after her was her laughter. Nailah's hiding spot didn't allow her to see how Lila had managed to do that.
"Fed up yet, Five?", Nailah only heard Lila's very annoying voice.
Five grabbed an old, rusty piped blitzed to the place where Lila had been standing. But he only managed to hit the power outlet letting sparks fly.
Lila appeared behind Five and aimed her leg at his head which he blocked. He ducked down and swooped his leg under hers making Lila fall down with a dull thump. Nailah nodded to herself. A basic, pretty amateur move but effective.
Five walked up to Lila and placed his boot on her throat.
"You're better than I thought.", Lila wheezed.
"And you are entirely average.", Five scoffed with a smile. Nailah giggled soundlessly from her hiding spot. She liked this side of Five.
"You can come out now.", Five said.
Nailah twitched in her spot but before she could move slow clacking of heels stopped her. It was clear Five hadn't meant her.
A very weird woman with red heels, a long cigarette and an absolutely hideous coat appeared.
"Well done.", she praised Five. "You figured it out."
"Well, it wasn't very hard.", Five scoffed looking at Lila under his boot. "She fights like every one of you commission drones."
Nailah nearly choked on her own saliva when the realisation hit her. This was The Handler. The one that had made Five kill people at the commission.
"Hmm. No matter. Here we are.", the Handler continued. "Together again. I've gotta ask. Did you miss me, you little shit?"
-> The Umbrella Academy Masterlist
Hello everyone!
Here we are at pretty much the halfway mark for this series. I would really appreciate any feedback/ reblog/ like you can offer. I would be especially interested what you think of Nailah and her dynamic with the siblings as well as if you think her character is well integrated.
Otherwise, thank you for reading and see you next part :)

Let me preface this by saying, I take no issue with your thoughts on this. We all have different feelings towards the show and that's totally fine and we all have different levels of what we find believable or convincing and that is also totally fine.
But I would like to just make a case for the development in Diego and Luther's relationship being shown on screen (the mileage to which you consider this character growth may vary).
They begin the first episode by physically fighting but even then it seems that more than half of Diego's frustration with Luther isn't so much that he was number 1 and Diego number 2 but that Luther won't acknowledge the abuse they all suffered under Reggie. Diego even suggests Luther was one of the most effected.
Anyway, within a couple of episodes they squabble and bicker but reluctantly have to work together and actually talk at the library.
"You want to know why I left the academy?" asks Diego. "Because you couldn't handle me being number 1," says Luther and then Diego calmly replies, "No. Cause that's what you do when you're 17."
It becomes super clear that his gripe with Luther isn't that he was number 1 but that he sided with Reggie when the others all left, and it's also obvious that Diego at least partially thinks Luther's the biggest victim of their father's.
And yeah, then the scene moves on and then they both have bigger fish to fry for most of the season but at the very end at the bowling alley Diego pulls Luther up on his lacklustre leadership and then says, "Look, you want to be number 1, fine, but you've got to get us on the same page, because right now we're all over the place." And then for the rest of the episode does exactly as Luther says, follows his plans, anticipates them even, works well with him.
And I think that's all Diego ever wanted. I think the way he tries to get Luther to prep for the Sparrows in season 3 is extremely consistent with this.
Luther on the other hand has probably for the most part always considered Diego to be his dumbass brother who went a bit too the Dark Knight for a while there and is now back to being his dumbass brother. This he can work with. I'll admit we get a lot less about Luther's feelings, but I also think they were never that complicated towards Diego. Not in the same way as Diego's were towards Luther.
As Diego points out, for Luther, so many of his issues centre on their dad and on Allison, the rest of his siblings are just there. He wouldn't want to miss them, now less than ever, but the relationship is just not that complicated. And Luther gets his growth re Reggie and Allison. And Diego gets his growth re Luther and much less in relation to Reggie because he constantly keeps backsliding into a place where he simultaneously wants to kill him and impress him, especially when he gets a do-over with a father who's never met them before. But I find the fact he can't get out of this messy relationship with Reggie also quite compelling (at the same time it frustrates me endlessly, btw, I just want to shake him! XD).
Anyway, just wanted to leave this here cause the way Luther and Diego became friends (I would argue again, Diego does talk a lot about old times, I just strongly assume they were pals once as kids, which I also assume Reggie did his best to undermine, but we have no textual evidence for that part, admittedly) is actually one of my favourite parts of the show.
S1 Hargreeves being a traumatised family coming together despite, and it was messy, and it was loud, and it wasn't perfect because there was no way they could be without healing, and all this in spite of how Reginald raised them to be
It's kind of sad how the most interesting dynamics in s1 were smoothed and fixed into something without the journey for us to witness
For example - Luther and Diego had such an interesting dynamic in s1 - both still deeply involved with their childhood trauma - Luther still believing every lie Reggie ever told him, and Diego still keeping up the heroics in spite of his father - both wanting to protect their family and clashing on it - both thinking they had to be the best and having to out compete each other at every twist and turn - Luther is what Diego represents if he had stayed, Diego is what Luther represents if he had left and they both kind of resent each other a bit for it and there's little to show for it in s2 or s3 given how quickly the show fixed up their relationship
I'm not saying I don't get why it was a decision that was made - or that I hate the decision in of itself - I can see how Luther and Diego constantly clashing would get tiresome, and that their dynamic needed to evolve for character growth, but I do think I'd like to have seen just a little evidence for it

You're Fucking Pathetic | The Umbrella Academy x Reader FF
A/N: I know this is not a Spellotape part 3 but I just got done watching season 3 of the umbrella academy and i am FUMING.
warnings: MAJOR TUA SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3, cursing, manipulation, incest
part 2 | part 3 (coming soon)
You had just returned from your life in the 60’s. It's been about a week and between Kugelblitz and Allison going rogue over the loss of her husband and child, you can’t handle anymore stress. Luther has been missing for days and so has Klaus. Diego has a kid and his “girlfriend” Lila is back as well. Everything was moving so fast. Too fast. You walked up to the Sparrow academy doors and knocked. Luther has been missing for a few days and because everyone is neck deep in their own shit they haven’t even gone to look. As soon as you are about to knock again the doors open up to reveal: Luther…in a Sparrow Academy uniform?
“Luther? What the hell are you wearing?” you asked.
Before he could answer “Ben” walked up to the door. “I mean, was he ever an umbrella?” he says, putting his hand on Luther’s shoulder.
“Is that how you feel, Luther? Huh?” you say before you hear a car pull up. You turn around to find Allison getting out of the passenger seat and walking to the trunk. “Allison?” you say but she ignores you and lifts the trunk up to reveal Harlan’s pale, dead body all curled up. Allison killed him. Your heart broke for Viktor and for Harlan. That was his son and you couldn’t imagine how he would feel when he found out. “You killed Harlan?! Allison answer me!” She doesn’t answer and instead walks in with the rest of the Sparrow Academy. You follow Luther to go find Allison and when you guys do you both start questioning her.
“Did you tell him?” Luther asks.
“Who, Viktor? Not yet.” Allison says.
“Man, He is not gonna take this well.” you say sighing heavily
“I did what had to be done.”
“I'm just saying. Should’ve been a family decision.”
“And which family is that, Brutus?” You ask, crossing your arms.
“Nice uniform by the way. You look like an unpopped zit.” Allison says blowing cigarette smoke in your face.
“Should we find you someone to talk to?”
“I'm fine. You’re the one having the identity crisis.”
“Oh, really? is “fine” what you call what you did to me at the hotel?”
“Whoa. What happened at the hotel?” You ask looking in between the two. “Someone answer me now!” You scream. Before anyone could answer Sloane comes in telling you all that Ben has called a family meeting.
“Both families. Do you think you could get your people to work together?” She asks.
Luther laughs, “Oh, you were serious.”
“I'm in.” Allison says as she shoves past you to the door.
“Y/n?”
“Not a chance. Not until everyone gets here.” You say walking into the living room.
Everyone arrives at the Sparrow mansion. Except for Viktor.
“Where is Viktor, Allison? Wasn’t he supposed to be with you?” you ask her.
“I left him at the diner.” She says before taking a puff of her cigarette.
“Un-fucking-believable. You are an honest to God asshole.” you say before Ben and Fei walk in.
“Welcome. Please make yourselves at home.” Fei says as she and Ben enter the room.
“Bitch this is our home.” Allison retorts.
“Excuse me?” Fei says.
“Nothing. She didn’t mean it.” You say trying to stop an argument.
“Where the hell is Klaus?” Diego asks.
“I don't know and to be honest I care just enough to worry but not enough to look.” You say, sighing deeply before closing your eyes.
“With our luck, probably Kugelblitze by now.” Five says which make you laugh a little.
“You’re a dark little dude sometimes.” Diego says.
“We don’t have time for idle chit chat. Everyone, sit down.” Ben says.
It was so annoying and awkward to be there. You hated it. This was giving you flashbacks of your feelings towards everyone when you guys were younger. Them locking Viktor away in that basement. The first world apocalypse that you sometimes hate Viktor for but Blame Luther for. You can’t stand the Sparrows either. They are cocky and arrogant. They have no family unity. No love and only empty loyalty. Ben is an asshole and seeing his face makes you miss your Ben. it makes your heart ache and you can barely look him in his eyes half the time. He thinks you like him because of that.
Ew..
“I feel like I'm sweating. Am I sweating?” Luther whispers to you and you reassure him that he is fine before he takes a seat by Sloane.
Ben starts the meeting. “Look, I know there’s been bad blood between us. Whatever. Bygones, right?”
You scoff, “Whatever? Yall almost killed us. So no. Not whatever.”
“Y/n. Shut your mouth.” Allison says.
You glare at her, “I am not talking to you Allison. So shut the fuck up.”
Diego raises his hand and Ben asks him what he wants.
“If I kill you, will we get our Ben back? Hypothetically.” he says with a smile.
it made you and Fei laugh. Ben? Not so much lmao.
“Keep talking, and your hand won’t be the only thing bleeding.”
“Okay, if the testosterone twins are done, i’d like to get back to a plan.” you and five say at the same time.
“Where is he?” Viktor says walking into the middle of the room. You felt so bad you couldn’t even look at him.
“Viktor…” You say, soft and low.
“What did you do to Harlan?” He says turning to Ben.
“They didn’t do anything. I did. I killed Harlan.” Allison says.
“What? i..i don’t understand.” Viktor says, voice shaking. “Why?”
“Because he didn’t deserve to live.” Allison said.
“What? Because they said so? You don’t have to listen to them.”
“20 bucks on the little one.” Ben whispers to you and Five.
“Shut up ya bone head.” You say but Five takes him up on his offer.
“They don’t get to tell us what to do.” Viktor continues. “You coulda talked to me. We could’ve figured out something else.”
“So, what, you could lie to us again and take his side?”
 “That’s not what happened.”
“Oh, no, that’s exactly what happened.” Allison says.
“I know Harlan killed all of our mothers.” Allison continues.
“What?”
“Whoa.”
“Who told you that?”
“Harlan. After you lied about it to my face.”
“Is that true, Viktor?” Diego asked, “Harlan started all this?”
“Yeah, but he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. He--”
“How do you know?” Five asked.
“Because he knew him. He was a harmless kid who was abused by his father. He wasn’t like us until Viktor saved his life at the lake. You guys know this. That was Viktors kid at some point.” You speak up, looking between Allison and Five.
“I screwed him up. And if you need anyone to blame I'm right here.” Viktor says, looking at Allison.
“What makes you think I don't?”
“This wasn’t about saving the world…” Viktor starts.
“This was about you hurting Viktor?” You say looking at Allison.
“Payback for--” Viktor starts.
“For what? Go on. Say her name.” Allison says, standing up and getting all in Viktors face. You sit closer to the edge of your seat just in case you need to whoop Allison's ass.
“Did killing Harlan bring Claire back?”
“Did protecting him bring Sissy back?”
“It was just as personal for you.”
“I didn't kill anyone!” Viktor yelled.
“But you risked everyone! Do you know what that felt like? Watching you fight harder to protect the man who helped destroy my daughter than you ever did to bring her back?”
“I don't know how to bring Claire back. Okay? No one does. But I was there for you. I tried.” Viktor said.
“To do what?” Allison said, “Help me grieve? God, this whole family is so quick to tell me to suck up my pain and so worried about fixing yours!”
“Allison, choose your next words carefully.” You say, feeling your anger rising.
“Somebody had to pay because you never seem to.”
“Destroy the world, kill pogo, almost kill me,and for what? So we can all run around and clean up your mess?” Allison says, “I'm sick of it.”
“Take it easy Allison.” Five says.
“Okay, i--”
“Shut your mouth!” Allison yells, rumouring Viktors mouth closed.
Viktor starts to struggle for breath and you start to stand but five holds your hand tightly. Tears start to swell in your eyes because only you know how Victor feels about the past. How even after all these years he still blames himself for everything and how deeply he hates himself.
“Every time I build a new life for myself, You end the world and take it from me!” Allison yells in Viktors face.
“All right, that’s it. Knock off the power shit, Allison.” Allison lets Viktor go and you rush to his side, patting his back and glaring at Allison.
“We should’ve left you in the basement.” Allison whispers to Viktor but you heard her and you turned around and slapped her. Hard.
“Viktor, go find a place to lay down. I'll be behind you soon.” You tell Viktor, giving him a reassuring smile.
“Y/n….don’t. it’s fine--”
“Go.” You tell him. It's been awhile since you have been feeling this way and it’s about time you get it off your chest. He looks at you a little longer before walking away.
“Are you alright?” Five asks Allison.
“Is she alright? Are you seriously asking HER right now?” you scream.
“Y/n..i was just asking.” Five starts.
“You know” You chuckle, “i don’t give a shit! Okay, Allison? Claire isn’t here! She was never going to be here! You wanna know why? Because this isn’t our home!”
“Harlan didn’t help destroy Claire. She never should’ve existed anyway. You never should have had your life anyway.” You got closer to her face.
“All your life you manipulated your way to happiness. Rumoring your sister so she forgot she was one of us, rumoring the press so you could feel better about yourself, rumoring your husband into loving you, rumoring Claire.” Next thing everyone knew she pushed you and you powered up your electricity. The sky turned dark and the ground started shaking. Everyone was screaming at you to calm down but you drowned them out. Your adrenaline was running high and Allison's face was pissing you off.
“Y/n calm down!” Luther screams at you.
“You are pathetic! You put everything on Viktor but if we hadn’t locked him up for most of his fucking life not once but TWICE, then maybe he wouldn’t have fucking exploded!” You scream tears flowing down your face.
“You have no right to blame anything on Viktor. You lost your family the moment you used your power to get everything in your worthless life.” You took a deep breath and looked at her in her eyes, “You rumored him to forget his identity every day of his life…Even when he wanted space you tried to rumor him into going home with you when he obviously didn’t want to. So what, he sliced your throat? You let your lover sibling Luther lock him in that hell hole.” You scoff and walk away.
“Honestly Allison. Grieve your husband and daughter in your own way but leave Viktor the fuck alone before I seriously fuck you up. You are embarrassing yourself.

Viktor and Allison’s s3 relationship road map
Sooooooo much of the discourse around Viktor and Allison this season has been blaming one or the other for how things fell apart between them.  It’s more complicated than that.  Viktor and Allison this season were a microcosm of this fucked-up family dynamic we’ve been following all along.
1. Allison improvises a lie that they have Marcus when they don’t.  It was done without thinking it through or discussing it beforehand.  This tells Viktor that Allison is a bit erratic right now, and I can see him wanting to involve her less because she is clearly overwhelmed.
2. Allison is verbally aggressive against the Sparrows at the end of 3.03.  Same effect as #1.
3. Allison goes to Viktor after torturing Sloane, smashing a mirror, and impulsively chopping off her own hair.  She badly needs to talk to her best friend and vent what’s in her head, but Viktor prioritizes Harlan and the needed conversation never takes place. CROSSROADS: Here, I very much understand where Viktor is coming from, but this is one of those places where a lot could have been done to prevent further deterioration of Allison’s state of mind and her relationship with Viktor.  Allison should have sought out someone else, but who?  Five and Lila have disappeared, Klaus is babysitting, Luther is busy guarding Sloane, and Diego is there for her, but in a way that makes it worse.  Viktor can’t be damage control to both Harlan and Allison immediately, but I think his reason for choosing Harlan is that he’s familiar with how to calm him down, since not everyone knows how to handle autistic sensory overload and their specific powers.  However, he needed to recognize immediately that Allison took “later” as a rejection, that Allison is deeply desperate and her saying “not okay” is a big cry for help, and ask her to wait somewhere specific and promise to be there right after this—and then follow up.  Viktor’s biggest mistake here is that he does not follow up.
4. With Harlan as their only leverage, Viktor independently decides to help him escape.  Allison volunteers to help, taking Harlan somewhere safe, because “You would do it for me, wouldn’t you?”  This is a lot of trust for Allison to put in Viktor, but Viktor does not actually have a plan to make peace with the Sparrows after this.
5. While taking Harlan’s powers, Allison becomes terrified Viktor is being harmed.  She tells Viktor he can trust her with what’s going on.  Viktor suggests she leave instead.
CROSSROADS: If Viktor had told her the truth now, or better yet, earlier, Allison would probably have had a milder reaction. Compounding the revelation with the slap in the face of Viktor never trusting her made things that much worse. But also, Viktor really needed to talk to the family about this proposed solution because, for all they know, depowering Harlan could be a compromise the Sparrows would accept, so long as they could verify with their own eyes that it happened.  As it stands, Viktor had no plan to make peace with the Sparrows and save the world other than “I’ll figure something out.”  That’s a huge fucking problem.
6. Harlan confesses.  Allison realizes Viktor has been hiding something vital while risking all of existence to save one person.  This, after Allison put a lot of trust in him when she took Harlan somewhere safe.  At this point, Viktor loses the ability to de-escalate anything.
7. Allison kills Harlan, knowing this would forever put a crack in her bond with Viktor.
CROSSROADS: She could have simply captured him and turned him over to the Sparrows, but no.  She had to be the one to kill him.  It’s like she was trying to burn that bridge with Viktor.  Obviously, it was something she saw as justice for all the damage Viktor has caused, because she has suffered a great deal more from Viktor’s actions than Viktor ever has.  I also get that there isn’t something morally different from killing Harlan herself as opposed to taking him to the Sparrows so they can kill him, but Viktor will always remember it was Allison who did it.  That can’t be separated now.
8. Viktor and Allison’s fight.  It’s full of cognitive distortions from them both, but especially Allison—and yet, they both have some really good points.  Viktor never had the power to bring Claire back, and Allison is constantly expected to swallow her own pain so she can be there for everyone else while Viktor gets treated with kid gloves, protected from the consequences of his actions (something Allison herself has been, perhaps, the most guilty of).  Viktor slides into a victim mentality.  Allison uses the basement in a verbal attack, something she knew would hurt him, and chokes him with a Rumor.  It’s an ugly fight, but it’s a culmination of everything that came before.
9. After a little wallowing, Viktor climbs out of the victim mentality and starts living what’s left of his life.  He tries to make up with Allison as a favor to Luther. She is not ready to forgive and rebuffs him cruelly.
10. Allison makes up with Viktor, seemingly as a ploy to get him to vote in favor of, you know, saving billions of lives, including their own.  Viktor promises her his vote.
11. Viktor votes against the plan anyway.
12. The misunderstanding of Allison’s involvement in Luther and Klaus’ deaths puts things at their most fragile point, but Allison tells the truth in the face of death: that she needs Viktor to forget literally everything that happened in the last few days and trust her.  This gets them on the same page at last—not because Viktor trusts her, but because she is being honest.
CROSSROADS: Finally, one of them does something that makes a difference in a positive way.  Between Allison learning the truth from Harlan and now, she was in no state to hear anything Viktor said with an open mind.  She really had to be given time, and probably face death at Viktor’s side.
13. Viktor nearly uses his powers to stop Allison from pressing the button. Allison asks him to trust her.  In a moment that defies logic in the most beautiful way, Viktor powers down and trusts her blindly.  Allison gives him a grateful smile, then presses the button.
CROSSROADS: Viktor trusts Allison here the way Allison trusted him when she took Harlan somewhere safe.  Allison is going to remember this.
With trauma, some people react by imploding (like Klaus and Luther), some by exploding.  Allison and Viktor are exploders, so it gets extra ugly between them.  And Allison has essentially been Viktor’s enabler this entire time, so that made it worse.  In a lot of ways, Allison resent Viktor for things that were her own fault—that he never faced true consequences of his actions—and that’s totally believable to me as a codependent.

Paring: Five Hargreeves X Fem!Reader
Summary: Five goes through everything with his best friend, and when they return with the announcement of their marriage his siblings are appalled.
Request: “I can request a FiveXreader where the reader is loving, sweet and naive, Five's best friend but the reader has no powers (You can invent a way how they became best friends and they are in love with each other, cliché but I love) One day the reader was sitting in front of the Umbrella Academy and saw Five leave in a hurry (The scene that he will travel in time) In this the reader does not abandon Five and decides to travel in time with him, they end up trapped in the apocalylipse, can you make them stay together?  (Like married I don't know) And also the scene where they go back to 2019? Sorry, if this so bored”
Five couldn’t believe his eyes. After a failed mission, he and his siblings decided to sneak out. Klaus had spotted a park on the way home, and that’s where they went. For the first time in years, they felt like kids again. They were all ten years old and had never experienced a playground before. Allison had never laughed as much, and Diego seemed to finally forget his insecurities while swinging from monkey bars.
Even on occasion, Luther would help Ben cross the monkey bars. Vanya was finally included, and Klaus had never seemed so carefree in his life. But Five had his eyes on someone else. She sat at one of the navy blue tables, quite a ways away from the playground, watching the siblings with a soft smile on her face. A notebook was in front of her while she twirled a pencil in her hand.
Curiosity killed the cat. Five was too intrigued not to sit with her. So despite this probably being the only time he could experience a playground, he sat in front of her, obscuring her vision from his other six siblings. Her eyes met green ones; they looked evergreen in the dark of the night. His hair almost looked black, but she knew it had to be dark brown.
“Good evening.” Her voice, it sounded like heaven to him, “Evening.”
It felt awkward, and the silence could’ve been cut with a knife, “My names Y/n.”
“Five.”
“Five? That’s unique.” Y/n complimented, and his cheeks flushed, “Thanks….”
Her vision went back to the other kids, “You’d think they’ve never seen a playground before.”
“They haven’t.” Five stated, looking at his siblings, “Our father is strict, so we snook out to come here.”
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to come off as rude-“
“You didn’t.” Five smiled, looking at her e/c eyes.
Since then, Five would sneak out a lot more. His power was a fantastic tool. When he and his siblings began to sneak out more, Five always invited her. Klaus, Diego, and Vanya seemed taken with her. Y/n was always so kind and sweet. Her laugh radiated, and it made everyone around her smile. It was like she was Aphrodite, and he was Ares.
After becoming friends with the academy kids, Y/n had a habit of sitting outside the academy. She usually sat on the edge of the sidewalk with her notebook on her lap, pencil in hand. Five couldn’t remember a time when her hand wasn’t covered in graphite or ink from drawing. He adored it, though, because it was so her. It made him stare at his black pens, aimlessly smiling, knowing that she probably had the same color ink on her hand.
Becoming friends with Five meant knowing his ambition. Five Hargreeves was driven by his goals and wanted to do them regardless of the consequence. So Y/n knew about his dream to time travel despite his father's wishes. On a gloomy day, Y/n sat on the sidewalk. The only thing drawing her from her daydream was the slam of a gate.
“Five!”
He didn’t turn, “Five!”
Y/n grabbed his arm, “What’re you doing?”
“I’m- I’m going to time travel.” Five stated with that daze in his eyes, “And you need to stay here.”
“No! I’m not letting you go alone!” Y/n exclaimed incredulously, “Y/n, please.” Five pleaded.
She shook her head, “Absolutely not. Either we go together, or we stay here together.”
“Fine.” Five reluctantly agreed, holding out his hand for her.
Hesitantly Y/n slid her fingers through his. They were intertwining their hands together. Five was so focused on time-traveling correctly that he didn’t notice the pink flush on his best friend's face. But he did it, once and twice—finally a third time. Smoke clouded the area, and fire could be seen for miles.
Y/n dropped his hand and covered her mouth. Five circled in his spot in shock. He felt nauseous and queasy. He couldn’t believe that he let this happen. He shouldn’t have pushed himself. They were stuck. Fucking hell, they were stuck, and he couldn’t do anything. Y/n ran back to the academy, and Five followed her. The h/c haired girl stared at what used to be the Umbrella Academy. Now in ruins. Five dropped to his knees, tears collecting in his eyes.
“It’s- it’s gone….”
Y/n hugged him tightly, “It’s okay, we’re going to be okay.”
“I’m gonna- I’m gonna be-“
Five didn’t get to finish his sentence. He pushed her away and threw up to the side. When he finished, Y/n took her jacket sleeve and wiped it around his mouth—gently combing his hair from his face. Y/n had never seen Five look so drained. Seeing her in front of him, taking care of him made him break. Five broke into sobs holding onto her like a lifeline. Y/n rubbed his back and held him just as tightly.
“I’m here, Five. I’ll keep you safe.”
Being thirteen in an apocalypse seems like a death sentence, but when you grow up the way Five did, it’s more bearable. The first few months were awful. Searching for shelter, food, clothes. It was downright hell, but they made it through. On cold nights Five would hold her close to his chest, and on hot nights Y/n would always manage to get him cold water.
Years passed, and their friendship turned into a relationship. They needed each other to survive, and they just needed each other. Five couldn’t be more grateful that she insisted on coming. He couldn’t imagine doing this alone. But now, he had his girlfriend leaning her head on his shoulder while watching the fire. His arm wrapped around her shoulder, leaving occasional kisses on her temple.
“I couldn’t imagine this world without you.” Five confessed, “I couldn’t imagine my life without you.” Y/n challenged.
He smirked, “Oh, really?”
“Don’t let it go to your head, smartass.” Y/n snorted, “Too late, it’s already there, my love.” Five retorted.
She kissed his cheek, “Love you.”
“Love you too, darling.”
Five years later. They were twenty-five, and he wanted to make it official. It was a rather cold day wherever they were, and Five was holding her closer than ever. Y/n was shivering on the old mattress they had found. She was constantly snuggling closer to Five’s chest. They laid facing each other, and Y/n’s head was tucked under his chin. Five’s hand ran through her long hair - after being unable to cut it - soothing her nerves.
“Marry me.”
“What?”
“I want you - Y/n - to marry me.” Five repeated, looking down at her.
Her teeth chattered, “Are you sure?”
“It’s not like there’s anyone else to choose from.”
Y/n glared playfully, and Five chuckled, “Asshole.”
“So, what do you say? Make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?”
“I say that if my fiancé doesn’t stop being an asshole, then I won't marry him.” Y/n retorted jokingly, “I love you too, pretty girl.” Five replied, smiling softly.
He kissed her forehead and allowed her to muzzle closer into him. Gently he pulled the two plain rings he found. They were battered, of course, and the gold was dirty, but that didn’t matter. Five slipped the ring on her finger and his. Y/n placed a gentle kiss on his lips that he gladly returned. Sweet, soft, passionate, and full of love. A description of how she was.
“Love you.”
“Love you too.” Five replied, “Now get some sleep.”
Y/n was about to fall asleep when she heard Five mutter one last thing, “Y/n Hargreeves.”
29 years. 348 months. 1512 weeks. 10,585 days. Until a woman showed up in their shelter, offering them both a job. Five could remember pushing Y/n behind him defensively. The last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt in any interaction he had. The woman offered them a way home. Five turned to his wife, and she saw it. For the first time in forty-five years, she saw it. Hope.
Y/n took Five’s hand in his, squeezing it gently. The softest smile crossed his features before agreeing with the woman’s offer where both of them became assassins—partners in crime. Nothing turned Five on more than seeing his wife fend for herself, and god, was she good at it. Y/n was so naive and innocent when she was ten. But now? At the age of fifty-six, she wasn’t that girl anymore.
But when they reached the age of fifty-eight, Five finally found out the correct equation. They were at their last mission, make sure John F. Kennedy gets shot and everything goes to plan, but Five had different ideas. Taking Vanya’s book from his suitcase, he looked over the equations one last time. They were going back; Five would go home today.
“Y/n.”
“Yes, love?”
Five sighed, “Are you ready?”
“Ready for what?”
“To go home.”
Y/n’s smile was blissful; Five could’ve fainted on the spot, “Home?! Like- Like-“
“Home.” Five answered to his overjoyed wife.
Y/n kissed him more passionately than ever. Five could feel her gratefulness in her kiss. His hands placed themselves on her waist, and hers were around his neck. God Five never wanted to forget this feeling. The feeling of his wife in his arms, kissing him as she would never get enough. When they pulled apart, Five opened the portal. Gripping her hand, they jumped through and landed on the leaf-filled ground in the icy rain.
“Does anyone else see Little Number Five and Little Y/n, or is that just me?“ Klaus asked, not trusting his eyes; maybe it was an illusion from the drugs.
Five and Y/n stood up. The first thing Y/n noticed was the ring on her finger was too big now. But Five looked down at the suit he had been wearing previously. The blazer now reached his knees instead of his waist, and Y/n’s shirt was hanging off one of her shoulders. Five and Y/n looked at each other. They were thirteen all over again.
“Shit.”
He grabbed Y/n’s hand and dragged her into the academy. Y/n had only been in the academy a handful of times before, and she usually was only allowed in Five’s room because she wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place. His siblings followed aimlessly and took their spots at the table.
“What’s the date? The exact date.” Five inquired, grabbing different things around the kitchen.
“The 24th.”
“Of what?”
“March.”
“Good.”
Y/n took place beside him as Five began making a peanut butter marshmallow sandwich. The same snack he used to love as a kid. Y/n could remember him trying to eat it back at their apartment the commission provided them but complained it was too sweet. It seems that being in his teenage body again made him crave the sweetness of the snack.
“So, are we gonna talk about just what happened?” Luther questioned, but no one answered, “It’s been 17 years.”
Five scoffed, “It’s been a lot longer than that.”
The same big spatial jumped behind Luther as he began to take marshmallows from the cabinet, “I haven’t missed that.” Luther murmured.
“Where’d you two go?” Diego asked.
“The future.” Y/n answered politely, “It’s shit, by the way.” Five added spatial jumping beside her again and gently kissing her cheek.
The siblings stared in shock at Five’s sudden act of affection; Five could feel their eyes on him, “What?”
“You just kissed her.” Allison stated, “And?”
Allison didn’t say anything, “Is it a crime for me to kiss my wife or something?” Five asked agitatedly.
“Wife?!”
“Yes, wife.” Five sighed.
“Called it!” Klaus exclaimed.
“I should’ve listened to the old man. You know, jumping through space is one thing.” Five began as he looked through the fridge, “Jumping through time is a toss of the dice.”
He came back with peanut butter in his hand at the front of the table, his wife beside him; he took in the appearance of his siblings, “Nice dress.”
“Oh, well, Danke!” Klaus smiled.
“Wait, how did you two get back?” Vanya questioned.
“In the end, I had to project our consciousnesses forward into a suspended quantum state version of ourselves that exists across every possible instance of time.”
Diego couldn’t wrap his head around it, “That makes no sense.”
Five went to remark, but Y/n cut him off, “It doesn’t have to. All that matters is that we’re back.”
“How long were you two there?” Luther queried, “Forty-Five years. Give or take.”
Everyone looked at the two teens in disbelief, “So what are you saying? That you’re 58?”
“Well, not exactly. Our consciences are 58, but it appears that our bodies are back to 13.” Y/n answered.
“Wait, how does that even work?”
“It seems that Five might’ve gotten the equations wrong.” Y/n replied, and Five glared at her, “I’m not mad! I’m just happy we’re home. Appearance be damned.”
Five took notice of the newspaper in front of Y/n, “Guess I missed the funeral.”
“How’d you even know about that?” Luther inquired, “What part of the future do you not understand?” Five retorted.
“Heart failure?” Y/n asked, “Yeah/No.” Luther and Diego contradicted.
Five clicked his tongue, “Nice to see nothings changed.”
The teenage boy began to walk away, “Uh, that’s it? That’s all you have to say?” Allison questioned.
“What else is there to say? It’s the circle of life.”
Vanya was the first to get up and hug Y/n, “I’m glad you’re home.”
“Me too, Vanny. Me too.”

Re: That One TUA S1 Draft That Wasn’t Filmed:
In case you didn’t know, there’s a script of a TUA S1 episode floating around here that must have made it pretty far on the chopping block.
Probably most important, the episode confirms that Reggie knew the world would end in April of 2019. He didn’t know how, he didn’t know the exact day, but he know something was up. Honestly, I thought Reg was bullshitting Klaus in the afterlife when he explained why he killed himself. So I was kinda surprised to learn this.
Most of the script takes place on October 1, 2012, on the brellies’ 23rd birthday. The script opens with two news anchors joking about the Mayan calendar ending in December. Reg and Pogo see this and Reg says something about how the Mayans were only a few years off.
We see Luther living at the academy and running solo missions for Reg. He encounters someone who resembles one of the original comic villains and accidentally ruins a birthday party and emotionally scars some children. It’s hinted at the end of the episode that he’s just left on the mission that will leave him permanently deformed. Also, he watches Allison’s movies and periodically calls her in California.
Diego’s living with Patch. They’re both at the police academy. Diego’s “Number Two” complex results in him getting kicked out and Patch breaking up with him. Diego gives Grace a bracelet he meant for Patch, and Grace gives him the cross-stitch of the domino mask we see in his apartment in 2019.
Also Diego is SUCH a marshmallow, he visits Grace every week and puts money in Klaus’s commissary. And it makes sense why Klaus only asked Diego for rides in S1.
Allison uses her powers constantly. For one day, she tries to NOT use them, and she’s just. So close to losing it. Constantly. Girl can’t wait for coffee, drive in traffic, etc. It’s actually sad how dependent she is on them.
Klaus is in prison. Doesn’t say what he did but it doesn’t surprise me at all. What’s interesting is that he seemed to have received some preferential treatment at first. While he’s transferred to a new block, the guard complains about Klaus getting put with the “white collars” because of his dad. He can’t get drugs and someone puts a hit on him.
Also, we see Klaus engaging in actual, effective self-defense. Like he accidentally kills an inmate. It’s wild. I’m trying to comprehend how he goes from That to jumping on people’s backs and flopping like a fish in seven years. I don’t think he’s forgotten his training. All I can think is that substance abuse has severely fucked him up. Not just loss of muscle mass, but maybe he’s screwed up the way his brain and body coordinate, so even if he knows what to do, he physically can’t. Idk, someone else explain why Klaus can’t fight.
Five is Old Man Five and working for the Commission. To mess with him, the Handler sends him to the brellies’ city in 2012 to see if Five will blow his cover. He does. He yells at Diego but Diego doesn’t recognize him.
BEN BEN BEN. This was probably the biggest change from the show. In S2, Klaus conjures Ben after Ben’s funeral. And Ben’s followed him ever since. HERE though, Ben appears while Klaus is in prison, because this is the first time since he died that Klaus has been sober enough to see him. And he’s actually PISSED that the brellies “let” him die. The episode also acknowledges that for whatever reason, when Klaus gets high again, the other ghosts go away but Ben stays.
Last Viktor, who was written as Vanya in this script. Viktor has recently published his book, and everyone’s furious about it, except Klaus. Viktor also has a girlfriend, who he catches cheating on him, forcing them to break up. So Viktor, unsure what else to do, visits Klaus in prison. They talk about Viktor’s book, and Klaus asks if he included the bit where Grace announced over breakfast that Diego just had his first wet dream. YES, that’s in there. Klaus is the only sibling who supports Viktor and asks for a copy to read in prison.
Oh, and Klaus is delighted to learn that Viktor (then Vanya) has/had a girlfriend. There’s this “yay, gay” kind of moment between them that we never saw in the show, where Klaus refers to himself and Viktor as fruits. Maybe this is why no one bats an eye about Viktor and Sissy in S2. He’s already out.
