hi and thank you!! so the first 2 times that smut happens in my fic i DO put a warning in the beginning notes, but overall, FROM WHAT I REMEMBER, smut happens in chaps 16 (not a sex scene tho...just some solo seb BAHHA), 23, 26, 27, and 32. there could be more im missing tho/smaller scenes i dont remember, so if you wanna be absolutely certain, you could also read it on ffnet! that site doesnt allow explicit content, so i cut the scenes out before uploading it there. (but i honestly would recommend just skimming past the smut on either ao3 or wattpad, since the ver of my fic that's on ffnet is a lot less polished/not edited💀 and sometimes dialogue happens before/after the smut, but i think i just cut it out entirely in the ffnet ver, i cant remember...) BUT ANYWAY, if you do get around to reading it, i hope you like it!!🙏

Dear Future You by @scarecrows-to-cherrytrees is one i read recently and freaking adored. And it's completed. Timetravel, broody early Naruto Kakashi, his future Sakura pops back to cause mayhem. Sexy, addictive, wonderfully written. There's one fight scene, if you read it you'll get it, but it's so dark, and sexy, and fuck I felt like I should hang up my keyboard because I'll never write anything so amazing when I read that scene.

Bluemingqueen has an adorable ongoing same age au/timetravel called The Danger of Smudged Storage Scrolls that I'm also seriously loving. I think it's almost finished. Its freaking cute. Awkward little Kakashi, determined to not be useless Sakura, sweet best friend vibes and mostly I'm just obsessed with how cute they are together so young! Its so well done and I cant wait till its finished. They also had a lot of great amazing one shots for kakasaku week. Like seriously, so good.

If you like AU, I just binged the shit out of The Exciting Adventures of Lotus Man, Blue Boy and the Not-So-Relucant Doctor Petals by goldfish. I had to Google the anime they crossed with for this but it was so hilarious, amazing pacing, the way they are like, PROFESSOR at smoth as fuck Xovers. Like. The way the two worlds work so well. The characterization are on point and if you like romance with a side of bromance and a shy Kakashi, it's for you. I really recommend this one. Goldfish also has a hanahaki disease long one shot, Blood Red Cherry Blossoms. It is beautiful. It is flawless. There isn't a single thing about the story that I would have done differently or went, "hm, idk but whatever." But the end will crush your soul for ever. It's been months and it still lives on my head, making me well up with sad and anger. It's okay though, because I wrote a fix it chapter 2 in my head so I console myself.

Tea has a lot of smut. Not really my thing anymore but what I have seen is... well done lol there are also several cute as fuck one-shot and short fics amongst the porn. Baby You Can Drive My Car is an adorable example. And No Dogs Allowed is as well. I love dog dad Kakashi here so freaking much. And I say that as someone that can not stand obnoxious dog people irl.

There are several other long ones I can not think of the names of rn. One, involved K and S getting involved in a drug/human trafficking thing. I wish so much I could remember because it was amazing. She's drugged at a bar, he saves her. She comes on to him, he actually is into it but she's drugged so. They finally get handsy later and she's abducted mid coitus. Gets wild from there.

It's so fricking good. It was the first fic we read in our book/fic club and y'all, let me tell you. We are still not okay. When chapter 6 drops all hell will break loose. A Premonition of Drift-Design by @shirokokuro. Amazing Tim & Bruce content. I first read this years ago when I first joined the fandom, and have been obsessed ever since. I reread it the other day for the memories and y'all. It is just as freaking good as I remember, if not better. The entire If That Happens, I'll Catch You and Secretary Tim (And Other Shenanigans) series are top notch tbh. Go read them rn, do it 🔫 And finally, a Malevolent fic bc this show is ruining my life [affectionate]. lacuna by @calamitxtum. I am 5 chapters in and have eaten my pillow. The mattress is next. I am so so so normal about these two. It doesn't help that Cal's writing is insanely good. NOMNOMNOM. The fic was completed the other day too so you can and should dive into it this instant. This was an impossible question to answer. I have been staring at this draft for 30 min. But I finally have an answer. I love the Hidden Injuries trope and have started reading more fics focusing on Bruce and Jason's relationship. And honestly, there is no one I trust more with this dynamic than lemongarden. They are the one who wrote Stargazer, and bro. Brooooooo. Holy shit. It is fucking incredible. I wish I could bottle their characterizations of Jason and Bruce in a bottle and study them for science. Stargazer is so incredible near and dear to my heart, I almost get emotional talking about it ahdjkhskjd. This sort of turned into another rec but you know what those are always great.

Honestly any kind of comment at all, like just a goofy smiley goes a long way. But comments that make me kick my feet are the keyboard smash, all capital letters, unhinged rambles - those fill me with immense joy. Also, the liveblog-esque comments are to die for. And the analytical, deep dive into the reader's own interpretation of events is so much fun to read. I know that these take time tho so I really don't expect people to do that (I once spent an hour on a comment. AN HOUR. It was 1384 words rip).

first off, i love talking about my writing with other people who are engaged with it!! it's one thing for me to explain every grueling plot point to my best friend who is politely interested for my sake, but wouldn't read it if it wasn't mine. It's another thing entirely to have fans of my writing talk to me about what they like about it and what they think of the plot, characters, pacing, etc!!!

one thing that I'm really appreciative of you praising is the timing. I know that uploads have been slow on my part, and that's because I'm full time with both work and school, but even when I was uploading every week, people were so unsatisfied with the timing!! and i know that I've advertised smut for the story, and you haven't gotten any yet, but I was very proud of the plot that I had constructed, as well as the backstories and reservations that I gave to each character, which required more than just an, 'oh well, let's fuck!', and like. 95% of the comments that I was getting for a long time were 'omg she needs to give in already' or 'i would have just caved!' like 😭😭😭 like did i not do it right? did i not create a compelling argument for why they should NOT fuck at this moment in time?? that's why i'm immensely grateful to hear that you like it, even if slow burns aren't everyone's thing! i love a good slow burn and I worked really hard to make this story realistic instead of just some utopia where nothing matters and actions don't have consequences.

second - you haven't even seen the movie!!! i'm always flattered when people admit that they haven't even seen the source material before indulging in my fics because i usually have little to no interest in reading fan content if i haven't at least seen the characters for myself first! i'm insanely flattered and i do recommend watching the airplane ass movie because it's one of my favorite movies but perhaps it's only my favorite because the men have so much potential and are so fun to write about !!! i definitely warn you that he's an ass through most of the movie but it gets better anon, i promise! he has a great ending <3

i love that you reread chapter five and i love that it got you out of bed and i love that you were kind and complementary with your message instead of something less motivating! these are the kinds of messages that make me motivated to write more, these are the kinds of messages that get my inspiration flowing when i've got the time to work on it!! i love you very much and all future chapters are dedicated to you actually <3

How old was Katniss when she gave birth to her daughter?

I know that canon is somewhere around 30-32 but my soul wants it to be 35. Probably because I personally consider 35 to be the best age to get pregnant by. I also like the idea of K&P having elementary-aged kids while they're in their 40s. 40 is such a hot age, its also such a good age to be parents IMO. 40 is just great.

How many years apart are they in age?

I picture them as being 4 years apart at the maximum. I think that makes sense for the epilogue ages we get hinted at. Toddler is 1-3 so the boy is somewhere in that range while the girl is between 4-7. I think that makes sense.

Your headcanon for their name?

I'm a strong believer in Willow and Rye. Those names just sound so Twelve to me. There's also something 'traditional' about those names, in that they're callbacks to Katniss and Peeta's own families (that is assuming the baker names all the kids after bread/bread-related/adjacent items). It's a way of honoring the dead, which I think is extremely important to them.

Who gets the singing and art skill from their parent?

I'm the controversial everlarker. I don't love stories where one kid is super Peeta-like and the other is super Katniss-like. In my experience kids aren't like that, they don't typically take after their parents' talents/hobbies/skills. I think each kid might have a special bond with either parent surrounding one of these skills but I think it's unrealistic to expect one of them to be super artsy and the other to be super outdoorsy. I just don't see it. I also think Katniss and Peeta would love it if their kids pursued other interests that are in no way connected to their own just because that is something they never got the chance to explore at all. I might be biased by my own family (my family has lived through war and military occupation), but because of that context I see Katniss and Peeta being those parents who go all out for every single interest their kids have. Oh, this summer little Rye is into swimming? It's swim world now baby. Little Willow wants to do soccer? The whole family has jerseys now. I don't think there's anything wrong or bad about the kids doing their parents' hobbies or anything like that - I just think it's unlikely they would inherit so much from their parents. I think both kids have wonderful memories of baking and painting with Dad as well as hunting, camping, and singing with Mom. I don't think either of them is necessarily amazing at those skills nor do I think Katniss and Peeta push them in that direction because one way or another all those skills were cultivated from a need to survive. Peeta bakes for work but also paints for therapy. Katniss hunted to survive and also sang for the emotional value she got out of it. These hobbies/skills have their baggage to them. I think that's something to keep in mind. Hell, my grandpa is a hunter, grew up a hunter, and used to hunt during the war so my family could eat something other than rations. None of us know how to hunt. It's something he decided he didn't want to trouble us with. There's baggage there.

I am the worst for fic recommendations because I never remember the titles of anything. Rn I can recommend my friend @vasilissadragomir 's fic Us Among The Living (it is very good and she puts so much love and care into it!!) and my own growing together fic which is (I swear) going to be updated soon. I knew nothing about mtmte or rodimus and was still working my way through the first season of TFP when I started it and yet I loved it! The night I posted the first chapter I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nervous. I thought everyone would think it was stupid, or stupid and ridiculous, or absolutely nuts, etc etc. I really thought only a few people would read it. I thought maybe I wasn't a good enough writer to pull off the idea. But I POSTED IT because I WANTED to and I wasn't even sure if I was going to finish it. I didn't know if it was going to be worth all the effort, but I posted that first chapter anyway. hahaha. So. Uh. I guess the answer to your question is: I didn't have confidence, but I did it anyway.

Partly: I really felt the idea was a good one and I wanted to see it through to prove to myself I could do it, and do it well

Partly: I quickly acquired an audience and felt pressure to continue it/not give up (do you think leaving a comment won't matter? it LITERALLY MATTERS SO MUCH)

Partly: I really wanted to prove to whoever would read it that crackfic could be good, and weird rarepairs could be well done, and fanfic can be just as good as published work

[Note on "crackfic:" I used to write a ton of fic, and then I left fic writing for a long time, and when I came back, that was the best term I knew to describe what I was writing. Back then, "crackfic" was the word I would've used to describe such a bizarre rarepair, and I wanted people to know that I was going to approach the pairing seriously, so I put that "crackpair but taken seriously" tag on the fic. I've seen some takes like "ALL crackpairs are taken seriously" and like, okay maybe now but, not in like 2002.]

I kept with it because it took up a huge amount of my brain. I thought about the fic all the time- even during those long month spans where no chapters were uploaded. It was a big part of my personal life for a really long time. There were several points where I wanted to give up, but I'm glad I didn't.

So I guess I kept up with it to see if I could, to finish it and make it 'real' in a sense, to meet expectations of a wide readership, and because I can't charge it rent, so I needed to get it out.

It’s ironic, that when cut off from the Force he can understand other people better than he has in years.

I sobbed when reading chapters of this, y'all. As in, full out ugly crying sobbed. I remember it very clearly, because I was actually on vacation at the time, and I was hiding in my Grandmother's basement so I didn't have to explain to my family why I was sobbing. Post Order 66 stories just get to me in a way that few other stories do, and this one did so perfectly. The despair and the hope mixed together, the way that they just kept going, the SW cyberpunk setting— it just works PERFECTLY.

This story just took residence in my mind, and has refused to leave, which I am absolutely more than happy with, because I love this story SO MUCH. Quinlan is one of my favorite characters of all time, to the surprise of no one, and I adore how Kat writes him.

These two? These two are AMAZING together. I love the writing here, the visual imagery blows me away, and the way these two relate to each other is AMAZING. The parallels here amaze me, and this is a frequent reread for me, it's just so good. This story makes me want to write about these two SO BADLY.

Summary:

The way it happens is simple: at some point during your service in the Guard, you’ll lose time. The thing wiping the Guards’ memories gets sloppy and Fox remembers the order not to let Fives leave the surface alive. It changes everything and nothing at all.

I am intrigued by this fic, y'all, I am so intrigued. This is a story that I can tell is going to absolutely crack my heart in two, but goddamn am I excited for it to do so. I'm always a huge fan of when people take a more cyberpunk approach to SW, and I am simply fascinated by patchmates' portrayals of the clones. I foresee this fic doing great emotional damage to me, but like, in the best way possible, and recommend it VERY highly.

Last Book(s): I've been slacking lately on actually reading, but I am late to the game on reading the Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. I'm currently in the middle of A Conspiracy of Kings.

Last Movie: I genuinely don't watch a lot of movies. It was probably when I watched Die Hard during xmas.

I did also watch Legend of Avatar Country again recently, though that's not long quite long enough to count as a movie. It's more like a selection of music videos loosely connected by a plot.

I highly recommend it, it's not very good but in the best way.

Last TV Show: I also... don't watch a lot of TV. 911 I guess? Even though they're on my shitlist rn. I watch a lot of youtube documentaries, usually about something like plane crashes or sinking ships.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: Savory I guess? I like desserts, but I like them salty. I'd be more into spicy if it didn't give me such horrific heart burn.

Relationship Status: Vaguely complicated for a variety of reasons, I'm not getting into it. I am poly though, so there's that.

Last Thing I Googled: Legend of Avatar Country, so I could link the video lmao.

Looking Forward To: Not to brag, but the popstar!Buck/metal drummer!Tommy au that I'm working on has been humming along. I'm quite pleased with it's progress, it's sitting at 23k words. I'm hoping to ride this freak burst of productivity and actually get something finished. Also I took next Monday off, so a three day weekend will be nice.

Current Obsession: It's Mr. Lou Ferrigno Jr. We all know it's Mr. Lou Ferrigno Jr. He's too beefy, I can't handle it. I've also been doing a lot of research into various sub genres I don't often listen too because of the above mentioned fic, so that's also fun.

i've said before how i love the beginning of the bang, when everyone stumbles in and looks for their friends... but i also love the middle of it, when we get to release the claiming document and everyone is all over it and ooh-ing and aww-ing over the ideas! it's such a lovely atmosphere and, as a writer myself, it also shows you the part you usually don't see - the excitement someone else gets out of your fic (idea)!

How long have you been into dc/batfam?

funnily enough, it will also be five years in summer! i really went down the rabbit hole and stayed there :D

Do you regret getting into batfam/dc?

i mean, sometimes??? like all good hyperfixations, this has consumed too much of my time and energy >:(

but I've met a ton of lovely people in the fandom! some of my best friends I've met here, and i wouldn't trade them for the world (not even when dc releases another sucky batman comic) <3

What's a storyline you would love to see adapted for a movie, tv show, or something else?

you know what. i ranted about it on the weekend to a friend, so i'm going to say it: literally any storyline with a batman villain that is not the joker. there, i said it.

oh I've not been consuming much batfam fics lately (i have another hyperfixation burning at higher flame rn), but let me recommend the one i am reading:

@eventualtoast has an ongoing no lazarus pit au series that is absolutely fantastic! it's a canon rewrite that imagines jason coming back without being put in the lazarus pit.

toast pays so much attention to how the same thing can differently affect people and relationships, and i personally love the dual perspectives from bruce and jason on the same events throughout the series!

please heed the content warnings (graphic depictions of violence, permanent injuries/traumatic brain injury, discussions of ableism), but it's at 73k and i know for a fact they have more planned!!
