I'm finally catching up on Never Stop Blowing Up and whoever was responsible for bringing these specific players together is a fucking genius and I love everything about it.

…Turns out Burrow’s End was not about cute magic stoats trying to find a new home, but SCIENCE FICTION HORROR that asks the question:

“What if the rats of Nimh just brutally murdered the humans and took over their lab?”

And the answer to that question is an Animal Farm dystopia featuring horrifying mutated creatures but really the story is a heartwrenching drama about a family trying to survive in the post-apocalypse and how they deal with their new reality and the traumas they’ve endured and it’s about what it means to be a parent and a child and an individual person within a family group and how the random horrors we endure by virtue of living lives as small insignificant creatures in our random universe can fuck us up and lead to intergenerational hurt and how it’s up to us to be more open and compassionate towards eachother if we ever want to make things better and heal those wounds but also everyone is a stoat

honestly I think Oliver and Ryan know buddie is happening because how they promoted buddie in s7 was really loud and completely unnecessary. Like they did not have to talk about how they read buddie fanfic and send it to each other or watch fan vids or talk about how if buddie happens it needs to be organically. Like to me that all read as stuff to get the audience prepped for buddie.

No but like that's literally my favorite conspiracy theory about the season because the thing is, when you look at the way Fox handle things and the way that ABC handles things with Oliver and Ryan, just the fact that they let Ryan say the things that he did in the beginning of the promotion of season 7 shows shows that there is some type of plan because they are very careful about the possible queerbaiting allegations and no one wants to be that guy, and Ryan was in PR jail, we saw that, we noticed that, he wasn't promoting not even during season 5 when it would have made sense for him to be doing interviews. And then all of a sudden they let him run wild. And the thing is everything Ryan said during the vertigo storyine kind of make it seems that he's not as unmedia trained as we assumed at the time that he was saying shit like the I love you to the core or the fanfic thing, because if his answers about that situation we're very trained, yk? They were very controlled, it was like he was being fed what to say and he knew how to say it believably. Because they ended up in a situation where they had to use Ryan to justify the storyline because it didn't land and they were also trying to milk the good publicity from Buck coming out. But now there's a lot going on. Personally I think that they were told the story was going to go some way during season 7 but they were expecting Tommy to be poorly received the same way that every other love interest they tried to add for both Buck or Eddie but Tommy ended up being well received so Buck kind of ended up pushed to the background because they didn't know how to use him for himself and that's why Oliver looked that frustrated about the situation. Because I don't even think oh he hates Lou, I don't think he does, but he ended up side character in his own story, yk? Everything became about the relationship when it was supposed to be about Buck's identity and then both was completely pushed the background because he had no storyline besides the bisexuality and things got completely out of control. I think he was frustrated because I think he was told that buddie was going to happen or they were going to get both Buck and Eddie out of the closet and that they were going to pull the trigger on them somehow during season 7 and that timeline was expended because they ended up making the buddie getting together timeline working around every episode they had at the time that 704 aired. I think they had like 20 something episodes confirmed at the time that 704 aired and by the time that they realize that they couldn't realistically get them both out of the closet and that the reaction to Buck was too good for them too not get the most out of Eddie coming out too everything happened like that.

Because the thing is they wouldn't have left Ryan and Oliver say things like the way Oliver was talking about a possible wedding in season 10 or the fanfic thing or the crying in the shower about edits thing or the I love you to the core thing or closer than ever thing because they know how that sounds and no one wants to be the queerbaity. They don't want to be the media that's being accused of baiting and and that does make me think that Oliver and Ryan were told something. And considering the way that they switched the plot line mid production, we know that Tommy was supposed to be for Eddie and then they realize that it couldn't go first for whatever reason, but it seems like the locker room was filmed at a point both of them thought that they were coming out. There is no heterosexual explanation for the way they are acting you, like, there something about the way they were acting in 701 and the way that they were acting during the promotion of the season in the beginning that makes me think that they were told we're pulling the triggered this season and you guys are getting together in the next one. Because there's even the fact that Oliver and Ryan look more comfortable in each other's spaces, like we got situations like that that one moment during the the premiere that Oliver didn't even flinch when Ryan opened his shirt and that's legit something two actors who are aware they're gonna do more casual touching are work on, to make it look believable. But that's a conspiracy theory, like we'll never know that for sure. It's just that the way the promotion was happening and the way that Oliver and Ryan we're talking, the way that Buck and Eddie were acting and everything around the situation, I think that they were told that something's going to happen. Because it would also explain why all Ryan just switched back to talking about buddie all of the fucking time after the vertigo thing, he put Buck in the same space as Shannon, went back to using gender neutral language, that make it seem like he's being fed what you say. My theory is mostly around the way that Ryan handled the promotion up until 705 and then for 707 to 710 and how he switched back after this the season ended. Because the season ended and he was like doing promotion about a bunch of stuff, and I get that he was promoting a movie but like he's in a lot of it and considering the fact that he hadn't done promotion since Eddie begins, this is kind of sus. I think they were told something and I think that they have to follow through this time because a renewal for season 9 is not going to happen until next year, so they're not going to end up in the same situation they did with the early renewal changing the way that the season goes. Because if they get renewed, they will be renewed like March and by that time they have to have most of the season done so they're not going to gamble on the possibility of season 9 and something is about to happen. But that's just a theory, a game theory.
