“He’s your hero, isn’t he?” A co-worker asked me at a job in 1996! The happiest of birthdays to one of my many filmmaking heroes, Quentin Jerome Tarantino!

Thank You Video Archives!
Earlier today I posted about Quentin Tarantino’s 60th birthday and over on Twitter, the Video Archives Podcast retweeted and liked my tweet!
This is super exciting! Just last month I tweeted to the Video Archives Podcast, which I named Best Movie Podcast of 2022, and they liked and retweeted my tweet.
Kind of cool to know that my shout outs got seen by hosts Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary!

An IRL friend of mine recently suggested I cut back on posting content because "maybe a dozen or two dozen people" like my posts and they weren't sure why I bothered when there was no money or engagement in it.
I definitely felt a bit like that a few years back, particularly when I'd see people repost my scans on other platforms and get tens of thousands of likes. If I'd shifted platforms and focused on engagement that could well have been me.
However, that's not really what I've ever been about. I share what I share because I like it and want other people who like these works to enjoy what I have in my collection too (or to discover new works they might not have encountered). Nobody has to engage with what I post though, I could get 0 likes/reblogs and I'd still keep plugging away because ultimately this is just a hobby and I'm just a fan.
I don't want to harp on with the cheesy "you should do things for yourself first and foremost" with hobbies, but at the end of the day my affection for certain series and artists won't evaporate just because my posts about them aren't popular on Tumblr.
I've been here for 14 years and have only just hit 10,000 followers. I'm not an important internet person by any stretch of the imagination and I think that's OK. If I'd been angling for something beyond simply being a fan of certain things, I can see how this might be considered failure. For me (personally) though, I don't feel like my hobby needs to have any form of hustle attached to it. This is what I do to express my affection for things.
Not everyone will feel the same way as I do about sharing content online and that's fine, we're all individuals and we engage with things differently. I just wanted to express this while the thoughts were still fresh in my mind.
Enjoy your hobbies in the ways that work for you. You'll find people who appreciate your contributions (big or small) wherever you go online and if you move onto different fandoms or hobbies, you'll find new folks who like what you do there too. Just don't feel locked into numbers as the ultimate way of judging your own love for media.

Can anyone recommend any good videos or resources that detail the entirety of the tma lore? I’m trying to brush up on everything before I finally jump on the protocols wagon.

A Big Week on Twitter
This past week I posted my Best Podcasts of 2022 lists.
I tweeted to the Video Archives Podcast, which I named Best Movie Podcast of 2022, and they liked and retweeted my tweet. Kind of cool to know that my shout out got seen by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary.
I tweeted to my Best Comedy Podcast of 2022 Fly on the Wall podcast producers Cadence13 and hosts Dana Carvey and David Spade. Both Spade and Cadence13 liked it! Last year both Spade and Carvey liked one of my tweets, so I’m on a roll with two of my favorite SNL alum!
I tweeted to my Best Pop Culture Podcast Hosted By Someone I Know of 2022 TV Guidance Counselor and host Ken Reid, who liked it and retweeted it as well Completely Conspicuous host Jay Kumar who liked it!

I'm writing a TMA essay
so I'm writing an essay that i hope to turn into a video essay about the TMA fears. The title i have for it right now is "How to figure out which TMA fear you belong to: a step by step guide" and I need to take a damn break 'cause I've been doing this for the past like hour or two instead of working on my homework so I am requesting ideas! Here is how it is being structured(is subject to change but i think it'll stay at least roughly similar):
Part 1: What are the Fears? [and what does it mean to be “marked”]
Part 2: Comparing the fears to real-life/other fictional identification tactics
(Pokemon, zodiac signs, gender/sexual identities, D&D “races”, Hogwarts house, etc.)
Part 3: Putting all the pieces together
So if anything in this post strikes an idea of some sort in your head please do share! I will absolutely credit anybody for any ideas I include if/when I post this (whatever form it ends up being lolol)

Okay, hear me out, but whenever I think about The Unknowing, the only thing I can imagine is all the mannequins/wax figures doing this dance specifically:
youtube
Like. The choreography is so fucking good? And there’s this level of chaos and rigidity that makes me think of inhumane beings playing at being human??
Also the song is just hilariously appropriate what can I say

Hey, calling all autistic Magnus Archives fans! I have a favor/question to ask!
I love what I've heard so far (episode 17 is the one I'm currently on), and I've heard some snippets from later in the series. This is actually why I'm reaching out now.
I'm autistic and certain sounds can be very painful. This being said, I've heard snippets of scenes Michael appears in and.... I understand why the sound effect is used, it's well done, but it really hurts to listen to. Is there an edited version without the sound or with the intensity toned down? I'll suffer if I really have to but I'd like to not get a headache and an earache while listening :(
... yes I know he's supposed to be a migraine personified or something.
Thank you in advance!

I need to get back on my Jess interview grind and finish before Silverborn press starts up because tell me why I'm skimming one trying to find something and then realize she's talking about Ages. ACK! This is vital to my theorizing.....
