In honor of the GS weekly for doing quests on warrior or knight, I made hot boi Sith, main character syndrome’s older brother.

In all seriousness, these two have been gnawing at my mind lately. Tel’s the oldest brother of three and the original heir to his (as of yet unnamed) family. Circumstances (read: scandal) forced his mother to remove him as heir and he instead went off to the economic sector, where he surprisingly thrived.

Tali then became the family’s heir. However, responsibility and an unwanted arranged marriage pushed her further and further away from wanting the position until she finally managed to convince her mother to let her go out on her own and discover more of the world. A bit of makeup to cover her tattoos, blasters instead of lightsabers, and a new name--Ember--and she’s been working as a hired gun with no one the wiser. She has no intentions of going back, now just to tell her mother that, and her twin...though Talun should be delighted to finally become the heir apparent.

No one is sure how the siblings are full-blood related since their father died after Tel was born, but well before their mother became pregnant with the twins. Of course, no one mentions that in polite company.

Thorn: It's FINE, i GUESS, seems a little BORING tho

Rin: *casually sips his coffee and reads his holomail* Yes, dear.

A couple days later:

Lana: Why is Thorn sulking?

Rin: I named our boy Cassius.

Lana: Why? It sounds like a good strong name.

Rin: Because she hasn't been able to come up with a fun little story behind it yet.

Lana: Ah. Oh dear.

Rin: Yup.

Mondstadt Sagau Shimegi AU Drabbles

I'm Alive! 

Sorry this took a hot minute to put out, but here's the Mondstadt edition of the Shimeji AU. I did every playable character from Mondstadt, some of them have shorter sections *cough* Mika *cough* simply because they haven't had much screen time in the game or I don't know them well enough. In the future I might do an update post for some of them. Also this should be treated like crack. Now that this is out I can move on to actually writing the First chapter of To Build A Haven which should be up soon. 

ALBEDO:

Curious but not a menace 

He looks at everything your doing with absolute interest 

He wanders around looking at what you're doing and writing what he observes down on a notepad. 

If He’s really interested in something on the page you're on like a photo or text he will snag it to get a closer look (for those who don't know there is a function that allows shimeji to grab items and take them off screen, this can be reversed by simply refreshing). 

He gets a little miffed when you refresh to get the item back in its correct place but he's not upset for long. 

If you leave your computer he will end up messing around and looking up articles on chemistry and physics, he tried searching up alchemy and he just got led down a rabbit hole that he later found out was all fake.

So there's no alchemy in your world, interesting! 

Uhh Oh! He accidentally duplicated! 

He’s immediately on guard once he sees the duplicate

Is that his twin! No wait, the mark on the twins neck is there!

He realizes it is just a full carbon copy of him that just wanders around mindlessly.

He will get a little antsy if you let the duplicates get out of hand in their numbers so make sure to dismiss the duplicates 

He just wants to study this strange world in peace. 

AMBER:

She confused as hell. 

She waves to you whenever you return from getting up from your computer 

She is the opposite of a menace. 

She almost is too helpful 

She sees her knightly duty in this weird in between world to be of help to you. 

If you're easily distracted while working on something like a document she will wave her hands around and try to get your attention so you get back to work. 

And while she is not an expert in grammar she’ll try her best to point out errors in your sentencing. 

When you're not working on something important she has a lot of fun climbing the walls of your screen and jumping off to glide across your screen. 

If you pick her up with your  cursor and toss her she’ll laugh and glide down

Don't shake her though! She’ll get dizzy!

BARBARA: 

Shy babbie!

At first she's kinda cowering in the corner so confused as to what's happening and in awe of your presence. 

Eventually she chills out a bit but she never fully relaxes.

She will be scandalized if you play something with profanity, innuendos, or sexual references.

Do not play Squidwards Nose for her. She is sweet baby, she doesn't deserve that.

I'm talking like something from Folklore, Evermore, or Midnights.

Her favorites are Clean, Willow, and Snow on the Beach (she does not like the F bomb in that one though)

She does try to give everything you listen to a fair shot even if it might not be her style.

He fall over all the time 

So Bennett will be like climbing the side of your screen and will lose his grip and fall. 

If you catch him he'll be so happy.

General Family HCs - Platonic! Jing Yuan + Yanqing + GN! Reader

Despite you and Yanqing being twins. Both him and Jing Yuan are still protective over you despite you only being younger by like a couple of seconds. You DO have freedman. They’re not that over protective. But do expect at least one of them to visit when you’re at work.

The difference in how you all treat your room honestly…Jing Yuans room is messy, sure his bed is made but documents and such are all over the place. Being a general means he can’t really have the time to care. Yanqing room (at least his side of the room - you two share) is also messy. Not as messy as Jing Yuans. Actually probably messier. There’s swords laying on the ground (safely) and clothes. Your side of the room is more cleaner. I feel like if you work at the alchemy commission you probably know it’s important to keep tidy.

Jing Yuan goes all out for your birthday with Yanqing. He’ll throw a party and get anything the two of you want. Even if they contrast horribly with each other. He will be making the two of you happy. Even if it means confusing anyone walking by if you decide to have it in a more public area.

You probably have been taught how to wield a sword. Both Jing Yuan and Yanqing know they’ll have to stop constantly checking in on you. So to ensure you’ll be able to protect yourself. You know how to wield a sword (or any weapon of your choosing)

I have a weird feeling you’re the best cook out of the trio. The other two do help though!…With like mixing and cutting. Jing Yuan at least knows how to cook simple, but if you want to feel fully fed and energised for the day. Perhaps you should take over?

Yanqing used to be taller. But then you grew taller. Honestly it’s funny to see how pouty he was when you first grew a few inches above his own height. He’s fine now though…just don’t assume he’s the younger twin.

Jing Yuan has a habit of patting your head. Yours and Yanqing. It’s his subtle way of saying “I’m proud of you” and he always is. He’s proud of the two of you and how far you’ve come. He’s proud to consider the two of you his children. And he’ll be proud of the two of you until he dies.

When you first joined the alchemy commission. I feel as though Yanqing wanted as many updates as he could about you. Jing Yuan trusted whoever was your mentor there but Yanqing was a bit worried. He will always protect his younger twin! Once he knows you’re doing well, he’ll start actually paying attention to HIS job.

If you say anyone bullied you for anything? Yanqing there to give them a piece of his mind (and if things got physical - maybe do some pay back) and Jing Yuans there to help and reassure you.

100% you all cuddled when you and Yanqing were much younger. Jing Yuan could not let his little babies alone. (He had to eventually, wasn’t happy)

Once you and Yanqing tried styling Jing Yuans hair and a family of birds flew out.

I feel like I said this before but just encase I haven’t - If you ever get a partner, they’re gonna have to get the approval of both of them. Jing Yuan may be easier to impress but Yanqing might be a bit harder

You honestly probably got to boast that your dad was the general at school. Whether or not you did is up to you.

FFXIV Write Entry #14: Skin-Deep

Alakhai does not initially understand just how Synnove and Dancing Heron remain friends with one Rereha Reha.

Oh, sure, the girl is nice enough (‘girl’ as if she isn’t just a few years younger than Alakhai herself), especially for someone that filthy stinking rich. (Who needs that many purses?) But she’s loud and rambunctious and bawdy, a bit too fond of parties, ostentatious in the extreme, the exact opposite of the far more reserved Synnove and Heron.

Clearly, she’s missing pieces of this puzzle, not helped by her infrequent visits to Ul’dah, and then Rereha running screaming for Gridania of all the cities. But Alakhai is very good at fading into the background to observe, so that’s what she’ll do.

It’s all the little moments that count for the most.

The time she and Synnove arrive at Rereha’s family manse to find Rereha’s room a minor disaster with clothes spilling out of the walk-in closet and Rereha sorting things into various piles.

“Shirts to keep, trousers to keep, dresses to keep,” she had said, “shirts to donate, trousers to donate, dresses to donate. Forgot to do this before I went to Gridania. Oh! Gotta let Ruru and Roro at the donate piles, too, they get first dibs on whatever I’m not wearing anymore, should be a couple of things they like…”

There’s also the cheerful pride Rereha always has when she speaks of her baby sisters. She isn’t particularly close with them, but none of them seem to mind that. Rereha has her own path, and she speaks with naked relief about how much better Ruruha and Roroha will be as castellans for the family businesses. “They actually enjoy goldsmithing and alchemy and all the business management stuff!” But she’s always happy to share a list of her sisters’ latest accomplishments when asked, and at one point, Alakhai is present when the young twins decide they want a song from their elder sister. And Rereha immediately puts down her bow, and picks up her fiddle.

There’s the time they were all out shopping the market stalls, and Alakhai sees Rereha clock a minor jeweler down on their luck. Worn hems, unpolished shoes, a collar very carefully turned to hide a faded stain. Their wares are good, even to Alakhai’s untrained eye, and Rereha quite happily purchases a necklace and two sets of earrings from them. But Rereha doesn’t haggle quite as ferociously as she would with a better-off merchant (and there is, apparently, an entire etiquette about haggling in Ul’dah and greater Thanalan that Alakhai has no hope in hell of grasping), though she manages it in such a way that if you’d never seen her actually put her whole effort into it, you’d never know she’d deliberately gone light.

And then she puts on the necklace as they wander off, and hooks in one pair of earrings into her lobes and the other onto her cartilage just at the points of her ears, and gushes to everyone on Sapphire Avenue who asks about her baubles about where she’d gotten them.

Then there’s Rereha’s about preternatural memory for keeping all of Heron’s numerous relatives straight. Synnove’s dead to the world on the couch in Rereha’s room, recovering from exams, while Heron whisper-shouts in frustration over some family squabble that’s boiled over and Rereha is nodding along. Heron finally wears herself out and presses her forehead against the couch with a low groan.

“It’s so stupid,” she finishes.

Rereha wiggles off the still-sleeping Synnove’s back to smush herself against Heron’s head and pat her shoulder in commiseration. “Your uncle’s a moron,” she says. “Has anyone bothered to write to your Great Aunt Intrepid Star to get her to settle the matter already?”

Heron heaved a sigh. “Trying. She went on holiday in the South Seas, which has turned into her island hopping her way to Thavnair, and the runner keeps just missing her in every damned port.”

“Damn.”

Finally, there’s today. Synnove is making eyes at an enormous topaz she just bought like it’s a Bismarck ice cream sundae and Alakhai has a hand on her elbow to keep her moving through the crowd. Rereha, however, isn’t quite so distracted, and she yanks at Alakhai’s belt to get her attention.

Alakhai looks down and can’t help but blink in surprise at the expression of utter loathing on the lalafell’s face. Then Rereha points, and through the heavy crowds, Alakhai sees a hyur woman of middling years, pale-skinned and black-haired and blue-eyed.

Alakhai has never met Isolde Greywolfe and quite frankly probably shouldn’t (oops there’s a knife in someone’s kidneys, so clumsy, how awful of her), but now she knows for sure what the woman looks like.

Rereha has already moved to Synnove’s other side and is tugging at her friend’s skirts, and Alakhai assists by gently pushing Synnove into the movement. “Come on, babe, you’re gonna get us mugged making buffalo eyes like that,” Rereha drawls.

Synnove merely grunts.

Even with her eyes still glued to that topaz, Rereha and Alakhai manage to get Synnove down one of the less busy side streets, and from there, Rereha guides them through the maze that connects the various major Avenues until it spits them out near one the clusters of cafes.

“Time for coffee!” Rereha says, and that finally gets Synnove’s attention.

Alakhai shakes her head in amusement, and levels a considering eye on Rere. The pieces are beginning to fit together, and what a strange creature this Rere really is. Funny, though.

Let’s see where this goes.

Hogwarts Legacy character's headcanon : Sebastian Sallow

My little headcanon for our boy, the list might grow as I keep having ideas :D

Growing up / Hogwart days :

He is the younger twin and Anne gave him Hell because of that, always bossing him around and teasing her "baby brother"

He was always very close to his sister to the point their parents had to hurry up to feed or change them cause whenever he was away from his sister he was all grumpy.

He would fall asleep curled up against his sister when they were babies and snored a lot so she would kick him, basically I picture them as sleeping like kittens xD.

I don't know why but in my mind he stuttered when he was young, being teased by the other children because of that. His sister broke a lot of noses in retaliation and he worked very hard with their mother to get rid of his stutter.

Anne is the one who saw their parents first in the cellar and it traumatized her so, that day, he became the "big brother" to protect and sooth her. At night, after they started living with Solomon, he would remain awake cause he knew at some point his sister would crawl into his bed and they would cuddle while crying.

The hat wanted to sort him into Ravenclaw like their parents but since Anne had been sorted into Slytherin he begged it to not separate them.

At first he was hyper vigilant and jealous of Ominis cause it took more time for the two of them to click than it did for Ominis and his sister and he felt like the third wheel.

He is a nerd, think Hermione kind of nerd, like, the guy gets detention for staying in the library after curfew and the day he discoverd Arithmancy....

If available, he would totaly take on Alchemy classes cause he likes to scratch his brain on complex subjects.

After Solomon's murder, if the player did not tell about it, he ends up comfessing to Professor Sharp.

He goes to trial, of course, but the Wizenmagot goes easy on him due to the circumstances and the fact he is still a child.

He ends up crying in Court when he realizes the people who came to testify on his behalf including his teachers (even Madam Scribner who told everyone how brilliant he was despite being a pain in her ass !), his friends (Ominis was there but not Anne) and even some shopkeepers from Hogsmead including Augustus Hill and Sirona.

He still goes to Azkaban for a month to make sure he gets the implications of what he did and spends the next 2 years in probation, seeing a conselor once a weak and undergoing evaluation to make sure he is not a danger for society or himself.

He becomes a loner when coming back to Hogwarts, keeping to himself and focusing on his studies.

He would still hang out with Ominis and the Gaunt would help him manage his night terrors but something broke between the two of them.

Speaking of Ominis, he is his only link to Anne as she refuses to talk to her brother after what he did.

Adult life :

After graduating, Sebastian would start a training as a healer in St Mungo's.

He would travel the world to study different forms of healing and would end up in remote places where he is really needed as a healer joining the wizarding equivalent of the Red Cross (I can't picture him in London or in a traditionnal hospital).

The moment Anne died, he knew it, waking up in sweat and recieving Ominis's letter was only a comfirmation. That's the only time he went back to England, for her funeral.

He never married nor had children of his own but became the father figure of a lot of kids in need.

He always kept the scars of the event in the catacombs both physical and psychological.

When he died, the nurse holding his hand said that the was smiling. She reported his last words were "you came for me ?" but no one really knows who he was talking to or if he was just hallucinating (Anne, it's Anne !)

The funniest reaction of the three

First of all, I think that Ed's relationship with the reader works precisely on the basis that they are polar opposites.

Ed is the hard-headed and temperamental one, Reader is the one who keeps the peace and has a hard time even correcting when they give them the wrong food.

They balance each other in many ways.

However, Reader is definitely what one would consider soft by nature, so Ed himself has developed certain protective tendencies towards them.

The typical thing is to react more than them when someone makes them feel bad/insults them, encouraging them to take repercussions, etc.

Ed has enough anger for both of them.

I imagine that although Ed already knew that the reader had a twin, he had not really seen then due to work issues/they being in another division in Amestris.

However, Reader and he exchanged several anecdotes about their families, including those of their sibilings.

and Ed is definitely happy to know that there is someone else in the reader's life who protects them when he is not there (especially if the reader is a civilian who doesn't know about alchemy).

However, when the mix-up incident occurs, it definitely catches Ed off guard.

I imagine that Ed and the reader were planning to meet at the Amestris barracks, but it just coincided with the arrival of the reader's twin for some work matters.

When Ed started looking for the reader and ran into their, he was MORE than confused.

Reader? What are they doing in an alchemist's uniform? Since when? Isn't it too early? Why are they looking at him like that?

When Ed goes to ask the "reader" directly, he ends up encountering a cold and powerful: "Do I know you?"

TWIN FINISHED IT..

Ed would try to maintain his composure and try to ask questions but at the same time he NEVER saw the reader looking at him so coldly, he almost feels intimidated, like he was in trouble...

Fortunately for everyone, the real reader came to Ed's rescue.

and not only that, but also to greet their twin.

Ed saw with horror how the twin's face changed COMPLETELY when they was talking to the reader, a literal 180 degree turn.

Ed didn't seem to want to give him the time of day, and with the reader they were already catching up, laughing and chatting.

He definitely leave it like that🤯

I think Ed and Twin could get along well...in terms of work. If there is a mission that depends on them, then they will do everything possible to get along.

Outside of that... difficult.

On the one hand, they both can't stand each other (which is ironic considering they have very similar personalities) and constantly compete for the reader's attention.

It's like a game of tug of war. They are both super clingy and see the other as a sudden invader of their time with the reader.

Although Ed will definitely leave Twin and the reader alone when they are exclusively family days, it's like an unwritten rule (just like Twin doesn't get involved in dating).

They try to keep aggression at bay when the reader is present, because after all they don't want to make her angry or, God forbid, cry.

It's like a cold war.

Ed also continues to appreciate Twin's contributions to the reader's self-esteem. At least they have a good common topic to get along with.

Alphonse Elric

Al and reader are definitely like the opposite of Ed and his reader, mostly because they both fall more on the shy spectrum. It's just that Al is more social and less reserved.

Although that doesn't mean he has it easy, I can see him and the reader having problems in situations like when they bring them the wrong food and they both silently accept the order🤣 or at least try to help the other by removing what they don't like (this obviously after Al already has his body).

Al is the one who does most of the talking, he's used to it, apart from the fact that he wouldn't feel comfortable letting the reader talk knowing that they make themselves uncomfortable.

Since he can't sleep, get tired or eat while in the armor, I can definitely see him carrying the reader everywhere and being their personal shield:3 both from the danger and the world in general.

They also both LOVE animals and on more than one occasion he and the reader ALMOST get away with taking some kittens (thanks Ed..)

In general, Al is super sweet with the reader and has infinite patience with them.

He knows about the reader's family and especially their twin. Al tends to compare several of their misadventures with those of him and Ed (on a smaller scale) and he even finds it cute that the reader is so attached to their sibiling.

Continuing with the fact that the reader is not an alchemist, Alphonse is happy to know that there is someone in the reader's life who protects them both physically and emotionally.

He's probably more curious about this twin than Ed, and already knows in advance that Reader and their twin are practically identical, but Al is convinced that it can't be that bad.

That is, of course, until we get to the incident.

Probably in Alphonse's case, he ran into twin while they were a civilian, which made it even more difficult to tell them apart.

Al saw Twin in the distance and thought it was his partner, so, like the sweetheart he is, he went to greet them and give them a metallic hug!

When Twin started screaming and even going so far as to hit him, poor Al was SO confused.

Did he take them by surprise? Are they angry? Why the violence!?

Since he is not used to seeing the reader shouting so loudly, not even with a frown, that image will definitely stay in his head for life.

When Reader arrived, Alphonse was so happy to see that they were still as shy and friendly as ever, he probably even hid behind them (as ridiculous as it was considering the size of the armor) to escape Twin's wrath.

Al and Twin get along surprisingly well, mostly because while Al has an intimidating exterior, Twin realizes that he is a softie because of their twin, so they trusts him more than Ed.

but it doesn't mean that they have the same level of patience for him that they have for Reader, rather they don't have any tolerance EXCEPT for reader😅 poor Al..

There's also the issue of Al being, well, AN ARMOR for much of the series, so Twin is understandably worried about how this relationship might work (or how CERTAIN ASPECTS of it work...)

Although if we're talking about full-bodied Al, I can definitely see Twin being much more patient and understanding, hell, even helping him recover from going without food for so many years.

and by the time Al fully recovers, you could say that he and twin are friends. and which twin is more open to receiving it into the family.

All in all, he's doing better than Ed🤣.

Ling Yao

Tbh it's the less surprised about it, but not less funny to see.

For the sake of my sanity and the meaning of this scenario, let's say that Ling's partner is from Xing and probably stayed there when he left in search of immortality.

Ling may have met the reader through some clan, on his own, etc. but definitely from the beginning he naturally gravitated towards them because of their reserved and friendly personality.

They are like opposite poles in a more discreet way. Ling is super social and has no problem defending himself (or others) while Reader was much quieter and barely raised their voice.

Ling made it her personal goal to help the reader be more honest and so they began dating seriously.

Ling definitely falls into the category of clingy partner, especially physically.

especially with reader because he finds their shy reactions super adorable!

He also laughs a little at their exaggerated expressions when they are embarrassed, or when they turn very red.

Although he definitely does not make fun of them, he does everything in good faith and thus his partner gains more trust! He will definitely kick the ass of anyone who makes the reader cry.

Considering that the Xingense culture is based on the Chinese, I can imagine that Ling has already met the reader's family in the past, at least their parents to have permission to "court" their child.

and Ling is also very aware of the dislike that the reader's family may feel towards him. more than anything because of what would happen if he became emperor.

I can see the reader's twin believing that it is not a good idea to date Ling solely and exclusively because of the tradition of the children of each clan, they does not want their sibiling to be left with a broken heart because of something they cannot control.

So, when Twin formally meets Ling, it's not very pleasant.

Ling is the only one who doesn't technically confuse reader and twin, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't have something to say about it (to lighten the tense atmosphere).

-"Wow! (reader) told me that you guys look alike but it's like seeing you in a mirror!"

something like that, he is partly surprised to see them in person side by side, but definitely not as much as the others.

and the only thing he gains is a loud SCOFF before twin walks away from him and reader, shuffling their feet.

Ling knows he didn't do anything wrong, but this is probably the first time "diplomacy" has bothered/distress him.

Of the three, Ling is the one who has the hardest time earning, at the very least, the respect of a twin. not because I don't try! but because twin has the typical Xingense standards.

I mean, Twin not only dislikes the idea of what will happen to Reader once he becomes emperor, but he believes that he is committing themself to someone who is not worth it.

And Ling left in search of inmortality(in Twin eyes, an ABSURD quest), it's like giving green light to these thoughs.

Fortunately, when Ling returns, apart from becoming emperor, he also manages (partially) to close Twin's mouth!

first of all, abolishing the law of marriage (that of the children of each clan, let me be happy) and he appears genuinely more mature than before, to the surprise of twin.

Before, Twin simply saw him as a bum, a scoundrel who happened to captivate his brother and who was lucky enough to be royalty.

but now, seeing everything he had done for Xing, for a foreign country, and that he still always came back to reader...you could say that speaking the heart of a twin.

They don't get along at all. Ling and twin definitely shouldn't be left in a room alone for more than 5 minutes (unless you want them to tear each other's throats out), but Ling KNOWS that twin does everything out of love.

and boy does he understand it. So, for now, they are fine.

personalities, summarized:

first- solemn eldest brother. strongest fighter, most likely to become a hero. has a sense of justice, but usually doesn't bother meddling in mortal affairs. gruff with a heart of gold. scary when enraged. has eldest child syndrome, takes care of all his siblings.

second- fun-loving sweetheart with a sadistic streak. most likely to become a yandere. enjoys going to human towns to cause trouble. switch flips from sweet to scary very fast. gets along with first and third the best, as they were all born just a couple years apart.

third- basically azu/la. snarky, angry, lives for the thrill of the fight. strong (albeit one-sided) rivalry with first, wants to surpass him as the strongest sibling. most likely to become a problem for the celestial realm. enjoys pillaging. is still decent to the monkeys on ffm and most of her siblings.

fourth- super smart, gloomy, the goth of the family. burdened by knowledge. bookworm, spends most of his time in his little library in the stone palace. has an interest in alchemy and astrology, strong defensive magic. willing to listen to and advise his siblings. he and sixth get along well.

Alchemy incident, according to professor Crewel.

"Well, of course I do, Pup! All professors have gathered and come to the concensus that you are to tend to Clearcove while he is in this state." Stated Crewel matter-of-factly, gesturing to a sleeping baby Finn.

Aurinelle only shook his head. Why him of all people? Why couldn't the staff care for the baby? The were the adults after all. But before he could ask the question, Crewel cut him off. "We have chosen you to care for him because Azul and the twins are away for another one of Vargas' ridiculous camps, as well as because you are one of the most responsible students and also a merperson, so you should be able to care for him better than we humans can."

"What about Professor Da Costa?" Aurinelle pushed, not because he didn't like the idea of taking care of Finn, but because he was terrified at the idea that a single wrong move could end the little thing's life. "He's also a mer, as well as an adult. Wouldn't he be a better option?"

"Need I remind you Da Costa is on break? Run along now, you're free to go out to sea if that makes caring for the Pup easier." Crewel said as his final statement, waving his hand in dismissal and turning on his heel to head for the door, leaving Aurinelle pondering on how to deal with the situation at hand.

"Hah... might as well comply..." he sighed and looked down at Finn's tiny figure, clenching his eyes and taking a deep breath before to prevent himself from giving in to his desire to affectionally crush the merbaby. "I'll do my best to care for you, little Finn." He whispered softly into the bowl, eliciting a small twitch of Finn's developing fins. Aurinelle gave the baby a small smile before heading to the magic mirror room.

"State thy name and where thou wish to be transported." Demanded the Dark Mirror upon Aurinelle's arrival.

"My name is Aurinelle Sireiwen. I wish to be transported to the border of the Coral Sea." Responded Aurinelle, his voice significantly less confident than usual, likely due to the worry bubbling inside him.

What if the teleportation hurts him? I best cast a protective spell. He thought, quickly casting a strong Abyssal protective spell on Finn's still sleeping figure before stepping through the Dark Mirror, which quickly spawned him at the borders of the Coral Sea, away from where he could be found.

Aurinelle was at least 1.5 times bigger in his merform, which made Finn that much smaller in his palm. The change in environment caused Finn to stir from his sleep, letting out a yawn so small that it's cuteness hit Aurinelle like a sack of potatoes. He brought his tail to his face and bit down on it hard to snap him out of whatever aggressive thoughts flooded his mind.

Finn's clicking was what called back Aurinelle's attention as Finn began to shift around on his hand, seemingly uncomfortable. Oh no. He's about to cry.

At least that's what Aurinelle thought, until Finn latched his tiny teeth onto one of Aurinelle's giant fingers, chewing on it intently. Aurinelle giggled quietly, so as not to disturb Finn. Then it dawned on him; he often chewed on things when he was hungry as a child, so perhaps Finn was hungry?

He decided to test out the theory and magicked a baby bottle filled with a combination of shrimp, seaweed and salmon. He gently (agonizingly slowly) removed his finger from Finn's mouth, who gripped onto it possessively, squeaking in protest.

"Easy now, I've got something actually edible for you." Aurinelle whispered softly, holding the teenie tiny bottle between the nails of his thumb and index finger and inching it towards Finn's mouth.

Finn took the bottle and chugged it desperately, as if he'd been starving. Aurinelle gently rubbed a finger to Finn's tiny back to prevent him from choking.

After he was done with his bottle, Finn clicked curiously, expecting a response from his father, but being met with silence instead. After a few more anxious clicks, Finn began to cry, repeatedly asking for his "Da" and continuing his clicks.

"Shh, shh it's ok! Your dad is, uh, occupied." Aurinelled tried to calm Finn down, eventually resorting to singing in order to make him relax. Soft hums resonated through the ocean, laced with the softest of magic to passify little Finn.

Eventually, Finn's cries softened to a stop as he wriggled around in search of a chew toy, which he eventually identified as another one of Aurinelle's fingers. Aurinelle chuckled as he watched Finn drift asleep on his chest. He continued to hum until he himself fell asleep on the sandy ocean floor.

Several hours later, Finn awoke to his tail wrapped around a tail he didn't recognize, and for some reason he was underwater? It took a few seconds for him to realize he was laying on someone and for his eyes to focus in on the merperson he was laying on. Someone oddly familiar.

"... Aurinelle?"

I have a smurfs AU where instead of being more like gnomes, the smurfs are instead a more humanised elf race instead!

here is me infodumping about them

Smurfs are still quite short in this AU, at least in comparison to other humanoid creatures, being about 5'2 to 5'4 on average (with an exclusion of a few smurfs whom are notably taller like Hefty who is tall even for human standards)

they still age quite slow and for about a 1000 year lifespan

The smurfs in my au are the same age as of the 1981 cartoon (a range of 100-150)

smurfs also have the ability to do or aquire magic, though most don't and instead do alchemy

majority of there customs and languages are pretty much the same from canon, the only difference is that they have more defined roles similar to fantasy kingdoms (like Hefty being the village knight and Brainy being Papa smurfs advisor in law)

smurfs have an iffy relationship with other elf races, due to how completley different morpholigcally they are and also culture differences. they still are noted to hate humans

They have hair and majority of them still don't wear shirts

the reasoning behind the sexes being in completley differen villages has actual reasons this time

-a few hundred years ago, there was three notable scenarios that caused the split and loss of communications between either villages

a human war the smurfs where indirectly involved in, caused majority of the male smurfs from smurfy grove to join in at the village to help protect and fight for there safety. this caused quite a loss and also majority of the female smurfs from the village went to join smurfy grove

during the end of the war, before the smurfs could immigrate back to their homes there was a massive natural disastor that caused a natural loss of communication between two villages for many years. and when either smurfs made it through the disastor, both thought either village was completley lost

a magical event that caused more of the already extremley limited population to almost deplete on itself, leaving only a few smurfs who all hapened to be the same gender in either village

then, having believed they where the last smurfs on earth, decided to each make a deal with the nature fae, where the fae creates smurfs themselves (due to having powers similar to god) and deliver them via the stork every blue moon.

This also explains why their is so little of Papa smurfs generation as well.

though it is to note that the smurfs plan to take down the whole stork thing as female and male smurfs get assimilated again and majority of the initial fae elders are retiring

they also do have families in this au. where the storks bring a small batch of babies at the same time that they automically deem as 'brothers', also due to the fact that the fae created them with similar genes

some familes include:

Hefty and wild are long lost twin brothers, Clumsy is their younger brother, and snappy is the youngest Storm and lily are sisters

Nat and farmer are brothers

Chief and baker are idetical twins

Blossom and Bergonia are twins also

fae would usually deliver notes to papa smurf/willow explaining each family in detail

non fae created smurfs (like smurfette) are still a thing! they are more similar to the hommonculi from fate/stay night, in that majority of them have more natural magic in them and they age much quicker into adulthood (with an exclusion of sassette whom drank an slow aging potion, which reverts her to the normal aging for smurfs)

gargamel is still a thing in this au, and is still incredibly fucking racist about the smurfs. he's reasoning for killing them has reverted to him wanting power (also selling elf blood goes for a crazy high price in the black market)

I don't see it talked about anywhere (probably because the show didn't mention it) but what do you think Rhaenys, Laena etc thought of the fact that Rhaena DID have a dragon hatch from an egg just like Baela, but it was small and sickly and died within hours? Did they worry over it like a death omen? Did they hover over her more than Baela?

I understand why the show left it out but that had to be something that actually worried the family when it happened, you'd think, especially given the twins themselves were supposedly small and sickly like Aenys was.

Hmmm, that's a very good question! I'm sort of divided in my thinking on this one...

The books state that a cradle egg hatching was seen as a good omen and a sign of the baby being a 'true Targaryen.' Likewise, it was a bad omen if the egg didn't hatch or if the hatchling was mutated or sickly. However, the show specifically makes a point to say that it's not really expected for most eggs to hatch.

And if you think about it proportionally, cradle egg hatches were very rare. Alysanne and Jaehaerys successfully hatched Silverwing and Vermithor, but there aren't any confirmed hatches until generations later, with Jace, Luke, Joff, and the twins. (And I say 'confirmed' because Caraxes, Syrax, and Seasmoke MAY have been cradle eggs, but we just don't know for sure.) I would think that after two generations of many failed cradle egg hatches, the family probably wasn't expecting much of any of them.

But then there's then the sudden uptick in cradle egg hatches all at once... I'm sure with all three of Rhaenyra's boys and Baela having healthy hatches, there must have been some comparisons made. I suppose it would be up to the individual and how much stock they placed in the alchemy of dragon eggs versus superstitions and omens.

We know Laena seems a bit more level-headed and logical about it, as she assures Rhaena she can bond with any dragon, egg hatch or no. Likewise, Daemon and Rhaenys' cradle eggs also never hatched, and they're arguably the two best dragonriders of their time. I don't see any of them being overly concerned with it, and I think that Rhaenys and Laena would probably be more concerned with Rhaena feeling left out or somehow lesser than Baela.

But, I suppose if you saw this small, sickly dragon hatch only to wither and die, you'd find it at least a little disturbing? Even if logic and history tells you otherwise, worry may still settle in the back of your mind.

Ulla really wanted a family, so, she told Quirin if he didn't want one, she would understand, she loved him, but, if they couldn't share dreams, both would be unhappy if they kept together, so, after the royal baby born, she would go, it was a pleasure to meet the Demanitus desendant, it was a surprise is the only one left.

Quirin was surprised by this but tried to not show it and just accept it with resignation, as he had been doing all his life whenever someone try to give an opinion to change his life style, this is his mission and reason to live, isn't it? Protect the royals forever.

Time passed, during one random night, one of the insurrectionist tried to get in the national treasure to rob money, he got arrested, later another tried to murder the royal family but failed once the brotherhood got him easily.

Donella and Cyrus were convinced, any of the posible clients were broke and unable to make a new purchase, she would move, and she told Ulla about it to tag along with her.

Ulla agreed she would go with her to the next town, and maybe go back to her family next travel, just wait for her until the born of the royal baby, she was going to participate on the birth.

Twins were the result, both males , she was amazed, being a twin herself, and knowing how many twins Ulf searched for his tesis and finding very few, this was a miracle and a rare occasion.

The Queen looked like thinking and asked one of the nuns to hand her Prince Horace, not signaling one in particular, so, the nun picked the first born and gave it to the queen to embrace.

Then the Queen announced the second baby would be a secret, not even the king should know about this, a backup for the future, no one shall know the location of this twin, only the queen, as well these witnesses shall keep the secret, later she is private would assign someone to nurse him.

Ulla was offended by this separation of twins, but said nothing, this was royality decitions, once they presented the children to the king for him to hold him, there was a banquet announcement, everyone in the castle staff and court was invited.

But not the Brotherhood , at least, not in front of these people, they would have their own private party, after all, they were a secret to keep, Ulla opted for going half day to each banquet to say her goodbyes to all the friends she made among them and taste the feast.

The Brotherhood teased Quirin about losing the girl but shortly agreeing that was the best, this was their kind of life.

Ulla was allowed to carry food from the banquet for her journey back home, most of the food was going to the trash or the staff's houses anyway.

Donella asked Cyrus to go along but separately, so Ulla wouldn't suspect about her real armory and weaponry business, he traveled on the unofficial roads or even underground (thanks to Ulla's mother Holda soil scan technics they plagiarized without Ulla noticing ).

When both were having a lunch outdoors they felt an earthquake and saw an explosion over the Dark Kingdom castle , and then a new expansive explosion of spiky black rocks with few blue fluorescent veins, the screams of the people were herd where they were.

Donella was stunned but analysing, the cult of the Moonstone talked about this happening, explaining how the dumb king they had was so disrespectful to the essence of the opal and it was a matter of time before he tried a nonsense as touch it without the according blessing.

Ulla was stunned as well and analysing the escape routes of the city and were her friends were supposed to be at this hour of the day, so she got back to the camp to retrieve her aid kit and alchemy formulas to help.

Domino for his whole life has felt jealousy. He’s been jealous over those with normal hair colors. He’s been jealous over those who didn’t have to go to those stupid parties. But there was a bigger jealousy around everyone his age, and only now does he think he understands what it was.

Deuce was able to connect to people so effortlessly. Ace. Jack. Epel. Ortho. He was even getting closer to Sebek.

Domino on the other hand doesn’t remember the last time he even met someone his age beyond at a ball, much less be their friend.

Deuce completely understood his magic. He might not be the top scoring student, but when it came to just using it, it always helped him in daily life.

Domino would try and it either came out way too strong or way too weak. Malleus, Deuce, teachers, and many more tried to help him, but nothing seemed to work. He never got it. He could only watch and do separate work made for him while everyone else honed their magic. While Deuce honed his magic.

Domino thought he had everything he could have ever needed, but that made him feel silly. His Momma and Poppa had enough money to buy whatever. They wouldn’t buy everything just because he asked, but he knew he was extremely well off. That, and all the responsibilities with it, was a lesson they made sure he learned early.

Yet something in him would have traded that to have just been around people. He would still want to keep his Momma and Poppa, but as long as the three of them could have supported themselves, he would rather a friend than more money.

He knew of Deuce’s struggles, but something whispered in his ear. Deuce always made it through. Deuce was in his ‘true home’ from the beginning. Deuce had countless experiences Domino could have only dreamed of. Deuce had friends he could have always gone to. Deuce was the twin favored by fate.

This was only Deuce’s first year trying to be an honor student, but he knew he needed to be perfect. If being good returned his brother, being perfect would no doubt keep this family whole. Yet at every attempt he failed and failed. No matter what he did, it didn’t work. Studying never returned results. Staying behind in class did nothing. Even when he dared to make a contract with Azul, it only blew up in his face. Yet that never seemed the case for Domino.

Domino spent years away, in another world, yet the second he gets back he gets great grades, only getting better with remedial lessons on what he missed out on.

Deuce was here the whole time and can’t remember what happened when in history or how to mix what in alchemy. It always went in one ear then got lost in his head when it mattered.

Domino was always clear and level headed. It seemed that when anyone tried to bug him, he could always just never let it affect him. Even when it did get to him, he was able to calculate the best prank to pull as revenge, but never let it go further.

Deuce always had a short fuse, and it only got worse after he fell down the path of a delinquent. He tried his best over and over, but it felt like someone could step wrong and he’d turn into a lunging dog.

Deuce knew Domino had his own fair share of issues, but something was whispering in his ears. Domino had enough money to get whatever he wanted. Domino always seemed to get the right people to like him. Domino was the person Deuce always wished to be. Domino was the twin favored by fate.
