I may be too old to be part of the campus protests going on now, but I have the utmost respect for these students and supporters.

The kids in their first years of college? They were born in 2004-6. They were kindergarten age when Sandy Hook happened. They were in junior high when covid hit. They are struggling to choose a path to education that doesn't put their own lives or entire vulnerable populations at risk.

I was born in 1990. The first instance of school violence I knew of was Columbine, and I was 9. The first instance of terrorism or threat to my "normal" was 9/11, and I was 11. My first indication that the US might not be the altruistic big brother of the world was the invasion of Iraq in 2003, I was 13. The first time I realized that family financial situations can change unpredictably, was 2005 (parental medical issues, followed by 08 crash), and I was 15. My first experience being the victim of police brutality was in 2007, I was 17. The first currently-happening protests I knew of were Occupy Wall Street in 2011, I was 21. The first ongoing attempts at revolution I was aware of were Arab Spring in 2012, I was 22. I was in my 30s when I learned colleges support genocide and the military industrial complex. For the first three decades of my life, I was able to convince myself the system was working and progress was happening, at a snail's pace, but nonetheless.

These kids have NEVER existed in a world that felt safe, have never had a future that seemed secure, have never even lived the illusion of the American Dream. The kids who are trying to choose a college that doesn't support genocide were the first kindergartners to do active shooter drills, how do they choose which university to allow to point guns at them? These were the first kids to have to live through, and study the historical impact of Covid, and they saw that the economy is valued above all else. These kids lost their virginity or came out of the closet in a world that was getting safer only to have healthcare taken from them. The world has failed this generation so intensely, and I can only hope y'all hold society accountable.

I have a child now, a true Gen Alpha Honey badger, and I am so hopeful that gen z can lead the charge to making sure my child doesn't have to face these same choices. Go forth, we got your backs, I'm too old and disabled to be front lines anymore, but I'll show up with snacks and do the jail release runs. I'll babysit and cook for when y'all get back from your actions.

I think it’s also important to remember the root of these fuck ups, because intention does matter when it comes to analyzing characters as it explains character motivation, and it also affects Ruby and Yang’s perception/opinion of said characters.

Tai was battling depression from the loss of his romantic partner.

Qrow had already been a drunk and hated himself, which means the expectation of any parental responsibility from him as an uncle also started off way differently.

Summer died.

Raven left because she was too scared/weak to be a parent.

Maybe I’m just in better fandom spaces, but when I see Raven as being painted as the worst parental figure of Team STRQ, it’s because her motive is the worst of the group. It’s easier to feel empathetic towards the other 3, and the girls themselves express more empathy towards them than Raven. So it’s not like we as the audience are reaching a conclusion that the narrative is not directly leading us to.

Also, perhaps even more importantly, Tai and Qrow both improved. They demonstrated growth and change which involves recognizing that they are the problem and thus fixing their behavior is the only solution. While Raven when challenged immediately goes on the defensive and lashes out, determined not to accept any guilt or judgment or take responsibility.

Yeah, I agree they were all fucks up one way or another that were still extremely damaging to Ruby and Yang, but one definitely stands apart from the others.

I think it’s time I address what is by far the BIGGEST assumption much of the fandom has made about Ruby’s and Yang’s parents:

That Raven was just the shitty parent who abandoned her daughters, and that Summer and Tai were the uncomplicated GOOD parents who made the good choices. And Qrow was the well-meaning fuckup who’s been able to improve.

When the reality is that ALL of Team STRQ were in fact well-meaning but  MASSIVE fuckups in each their own way.

Like if nothing else, they all bailed on Ruby and Yang in one way or another (Raven and Summer physically, Tai emotionally/psychologically for several years, Qrow a bit of both)

And I have a good feeling that the Vacuo arc will be when Ruby and Yang will finally have to address that shit.

Easy answer is the senju are very touchy feely, easily and willingly sleeps around (they face a lot less risk of bloodline theft due to rarity of the mokuton so there isn't as much ingrained cultural fear of being assulted/facing the baby shaped consequences of sleeping around willy nilly)

They can take multiple spouses and it's actually rare for the head of house to have only one wife (Hashirama is an exception bc Mito is a Princess(tm) and so to take another wife would risk offending her own clan culture, he is fine with this and they possibly often take others to bed with them just for funzies (potential hashimitoizu noises(?)))

Uhh anyways so that, they're super liberal with touch, etc. Etc.

Also they don't really do crazy deep romance and are super used to casual no strings attached flings, you have to make yourself VERY clear in what you're doing if you want to actually start a fr relationship bc otherwise many "courtship" behaviors are just like. Casual, culturally acceptable flirting and invitations to bang (the senju have a 101 different ways to proposition eachother in flower language alone.)

Meanwhile the Uchiha are on the total opposite side of the spectrum— they're like super conservative (In contrast to the Senju not having an ingrained fear of bloodline hunters, their very valuable and very vulnerable kekkei genkkei makes them prime victims, which has lead them having generations of trauma fueled insane abstinence lessons)

+ They're a noble clan and regularly interact with the Daimyo's court, so there's even more etiquette culture ingrained into them so they can send anyone into court if needed (While the Senju, who are NOT a noble clan, only ever send their main house, and so only they have to even worry about court etiquette)

They do not believe in divorce, they do not believe in political marriages (tho they do happen very very rarely, it's seen as very sad and tragic when it does) they... sometimes believe in multiple spouses, in specific situations (they can't regularly interact w the daimyo's court and not have to face it as a concept, after all)

So like. Super up tight, hella rules about how to show affection and proper ways to conduct yourselves, months long courting rituals before u even get to kissing, to sleep together before marriage is SINFUL

But they're ALSO super fucking romantic and absolutely insane about having soulmates and one true loves and are just super intense ab all that romance stuff where the senju are super relaxed in it

I think u see where this is going

Anyways uhhh

They make a village and there's tons of culture shock

Then Tobirama, being Tobirama (standoffish and cold, not especially interested in the usual wild Senju sex parties or whatever tf kind of events they're hosting in the gardens) is like, among the most "normal" to the Uchiha (from a cultural standpoint)

And bc of that, Madara maybe interacts w him more like "well he's kind of awful but at least he's not a sex FREAK like the rest of these Senju WHORES"

Umm Madara tries to court Tobirama but Tobirama sees it as him only trying to bang (?)

Which he possibly doesn't even want to do

Tobirama is like "Ah man, if only he were interested in actual courtship, but he has only given me the Senju flowers of "I wish to ravish you in the fields" and not the senju flowers of "I am potentially interest in maybe going on a date" (a proposition that a)he received not too infrequently, and so was not odd, and b) he politely rejected by accepting the flowers then showing Madara that he had planted it in red soil)

Meanwhile, Madara is like. "Wow this courtship is going so great he's accepting all my Uchiha flowers of pure devotion and innocent love in bloom"

Just in general, their clans having different flower meanings could be funny actually. The Uchiha regularly interact with court so I think they'd have to have, like, "normal" flower meanings (or else theres be some implications there of how theye gotten so far while using incorrect flower meanings in genuinely important events) so that means its the Senju who have odd meanings for flowers-- which also works, bc, like, mokuton

however many years ago, a previous descendant with mokuton told his clansmen the ""real"" meaning of these flowers,,, u wouldnt get it,,,

Another fun route could be, like, the Uchiha method of declaring ones intentions to court someone also happens to be the Senju's method of declaring a feud.

Madara tries to flirt with Tobirama only for Tobirama to understand this as Madara telling him to his face that the peace may be ongoing but he'll always hate his bitch ass !!!

It’s funny cause the way I imagined the aftermath was a bit different:

I’ve been brainstorming about the Instability AU, and I’ve finally cooked up a possible solution for Gray’s condition.

You guys remember how Wenda created this color-draining gun that turned the Sprunkis into zombies? (Which, slight pause, I originally thought Wenda just stole the gun or something but upon rewatching it, it’s implied that she MADE the dang thing. Either Wenda’s a genius inventor or the wikiHow of the Sprunki world is top tier.)

Anyways, since the gun is used to drain color, I’d imagine it’d be just as effective at removing Gray’s code and reverting him… mostly back to normal. It can only do so much before shattering of course.

Now at the end of the color draining episode, the original gun did break, but Wenda can always rebuild it. Instead of a small tank however, Wenda connects the gun to this larger containment system in the lab, allowing the Unstable Code to be inactive once again.

But that’s easier said than done. First, Wenda has to actually rebuild the dang thing, which could take who knows how long as Gray continues to dissolve/absorb Sprunkis and mutate closer and closer to death. Secondly, Gray’s body is definitely going to retaliate and try to consume Wenda if she gets too close, forcing her to ambush him instead.

(also some extra angst with Wenda using the same weapon she previously used to hurt everyone else, now using it to save the day. I don’t know, some bad memories of that event ensue.)

And yea that’s the solution to this rewrite. Honestly, I feel like it’s a bit better than the plot convenient color-remover from the original episode.

i also like this song a lot in general, because it's a mournful song while also being frank about the feeling of loss. and there's still some hope in it, somewhere. one comment on that youtube video says something like "it's a happy depression", which i like. i hope adonia ai is able to embody that same feeling for others.

For his mother and father, I'm going to go with the 2006 names, Frank and Constance Lenz, now here I'm just gonna say, that since this is the 1974 ver., Billy's father is not dead, just gone from the picture, (and divorced from his psycho wife), and that's when the S/A of Billy started, resulting in more trauma for Billy. Do I think Billy loves his sister/daughter? No, no I don't, the reason is, after his sister was born Billy got locked away, barely being fed unless he snuck down for food, and even then, what he did eat was nothing but junk because he can’t cook, (DON'T TRUST THIS MAN IN THE KITCHEN, YO HOUSE WILL BE BURT TO THE GYATT DAYM GROUND), and again, she's a result of what his mother, of all people, did to him. Think of that, you're locked away while your mother plays happy family with your sister/daughter, while you're trapped in a cold attic, and starving, that would make anyone crazy (crazy? I was crazy once. They put me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, the rats made me crazy) Now, for my own headcanons for Billy himself, I think he's English and German, due to the name William having English roots, and Lenz is a German surname (Thx Google!), I think he has pastey ahh skin, due to being locked away in an attic, but if he got out, he'd have a more of a limestone skin tone

Like in the picture above, now Billy, Billy is skinny, but he is strong, more in theory that before the events of Black Christmas he was skinner cause he didn't have much muscle mass due to not eating much, but since the sorority girls were there (and he was probably in a mental institution, getting three meals a day), he stole food from the fridge n sweets. Now Billy, my personal opinion, loves sweets, bby boi gotta big sweet tooth (🍪🍪). I think Barb and Jess are the main ones Billy is stalking after, but he kills the others cause he's kinda... Snapped?? (Bro def. Escapes an asylum every year fr) Barb reminds him more of his mother with her drinking problem. Clare and Jess probably reminds him of Agnes due to her innocent nature and looks. Now I think Billy killed his mother, Agnes was asleep so no harm was done to her, Billy wouldn't harm kids (personal opinion, then again, most of this is my personal opinion jabdmshdjd), I think Billy doesn't mind the cold much, noting that this movie took place in Canada, so Billy grew used to the cold temperatures. I also rlly love the idea that Billy wears a green sweater, tho in the movie it's black, now in the 1974 film, Billy says to Jess "don't tell them what we did, Agnes", maybe he woke his sister up to hide his mom's body or smt, don't have to be sexual in anyway. If your character were trapped on a deserted island, what three things would they want to have with them? Which person would they absolutely hate to be trapped there with? Which person would they enjoy being trapped there with?

I think from a practicality standpoint, she'd want a good knife - works as a weapon, also works for practicality reasons, great starting point. I think she'd be able to make herself some form of shelter, so I'll avoid my initial instinct of saying "a tent" or something like that. Maybe sunscreen? From her past trauma 💀

Aaaand one thing I think she'd really miss from modern times is the music. So maybe an iPod? Especially if she could have one of those solar powered chargers with her so it wouldn't be useless after a few days? Like Theo is very practical but she also loves fun and isn't just out to suffer for the sake of it, so I think she'd view saving at least one of those three items (even though the charger would probably count as four but she's also a rule breaker) as a morale-booster, and therefore sorely needed.

I did half-consider maybe replacing the iPod with a Kindle (if she could still have a way of charging it) loaded with books, but that feels like stretching the rules a bit much, and I think the silence would get to her more than a lack of reading materials.

As for who she'd want with her, James absolutely. No explanation needed. Who she wouldn't? Jack, as a general nuisance, but Beckett in terms of "he would make it utterly unsurvivable". Though, oddly, I think putting them on equal ground like that and forcing them to work together for survival - with no others around for Beckett to manipulate and play mind games with - might actually have them in this one instance, so long as it's before all of the shit he did to her (because otherwise she'd kill him on sight), working quite well together. He's resourceful, he does what he needs to, once he got over himself a bit he'd probably actually pitch in because god knows she wouldn't help him if he was useless.

Is your character holding any grudges? Are they likely to stop?

I don't view Liawyn as a grudge holder! Out of all of my OCs, she's probably actually the least likely to hold a grudge. I think she's very empathetic and can always look at things from the other person's perspective, and so long as she can kind of see why somebody might do something - even if she doesn't agree with it - and if they're truly sorry that they did it, she'll forgive.

The only exception would be if it was something really heinous and unforgiveable, and then I think they'd effectively be dead to her. She wouldn't go out of her way to make their lives miserable or anything, but she'd act like they didn't exist and never let up on that once her heart was set on it. Her anger, long term, for sure burns cold rather than hot.

...I also think Haldir would very much like those two things about her 😭

1). i dont think i can pick a favorite since there's so many but i love rewatching Lush Caves, Ultimate Minecart Race, The Chef, The Ultimate Weapon (and honestly just the entire KO arc lmfao). For AVA its gotta be The Showdown it's just SOOO GOOD the animation, the concepts, the plot, ahhhh

THE DARK LORD THE DARK LORD THE DARK LORD (red is my second favorite tho). okay so, honestly it's just the amount of potential and trauma i could give him. i love his character and lore like, the idea of the Mission Code. what does it mean that you've been created for the sole purpose to destroy, and what does it mean that the person you're made to destory become your best friend? like, the existance of that code brings up so much potential and you could literally take it in so many ways. and like, just the story of cho and dark being two people who were coded for a purpose and run away. what...happens to that purpose? what are you supposed to do now? it's very "what am i if not a weapon?" "yourself. isn't that a wonderful person to be?" (i also dont remember where this quote is from). and also, i look at this little bastard and i think ah yes, he is a goddamn maniac. absolutely insane. i can make him as unhinged as possible and i think that's amazing.

i also think it's great that it's so easy for me to just do whatever i want with him like he's some dress up doll. i've got a genderbent version of him. i've got him with ADHD. i've got him with autism. i've got him trans. he's depressd. he has anxiety. he's in love. there's no saving him.

i also like that like. he's dead. he might not be dead. who fucking knows? and he's such an interesting character, is he evil, is he nice, does he care, what does he like? i want to know everything about him and i want to squish him like a little ball

4). hmmmm honestly? i only ever kinned like one character (yuki from horimiya) so im not too familiar with actually kinning. if i had to pick, probably red, mostly cause i see him as a hyper possibly ADHD guy who's always running head first into situations without a thought and think damn he's jus tlike me fr

KO/MANGO TALK LETS GO !! you're def right, he was forigven too soon, but i like to think or hope that they at least had a bit of bonding. okay well first off i want to start off with: i see a lot of content where we view mango as like around 20 years old which i want to immedately have on the table: what do you mean 20 years old. he's got a goddamn kid that seems to be maybe 8-10, he's got to be at least reaching 40 by the time we actually see him in AVM. and no, 40 is not too old, they can still do backflips and fight ppl (as long as mango maintained a healthy lifestyle with daily exercise, healthy diet, and good sleep).

i love the fact that he went evil because he lost his son, and that he got lost in his anger and started hurting everyone around him. although i do think his and purple's relationship could do with A LOTT of work. their trust was broken over and over again (mostly on purple's end) and im not sure mango particularily remembers how to treat a child well. and did mango ever like,,,yk,,,properly grieve for his son? for all we know, he went home the same day he lost gold, punched his wall a lot, then went straight to working on the staff. now that he doesn't have that drive anymore, i think that's all going to catch up to him. he really needs to properly grieve and mourn and recover before he goes about doing anything else.

he can, in fact however, be a good person/father as long as he's got that under the belt. (which you could def see that he was pretty swag when he still had gold). i personally see him as a raspy and gruff guy so he's also a man of very few words. that also means he probably has a buttload of communcation issues that is gonna affect his relationship with other people. he has got A LOT to work on

i also want to mention how i don't particulary enjoy the "overprotective father that trails their child everywhere". i don't think a lot of people view mano this way either, but i just want it on the table that even though mango would definitely be protective of purple, he won't be weird about it

6). ohhhh okay okay if you've read my fics you know i am in love with the "siblings victim & dark" as well as "siblings chosen and second". i feel like vic and dark are both insane and enable the worst, unhinged parts of each other. and then chosen and second are pretty much polar opposites with "doesn't say a word + yapper"

i also love it when CC treat red as like the youngest hyper sibling bc he really does give off that energy. also I AGREE WITH YOU purple and red together were so cute it was so unexpected but i love that

i also really really really want to see dark and purple interact with each other. mostly because they're probably the two most least likely characters to ever see each other. but i like the idea of dark terrorizing purple and it works because purple the whole time is like 'holy fuck this is that terrorist holy fuck shit oml'

i also want to see purple and mango interact with alan. im not sure if they ever did? but id like to imagine one day alan logs onto his computer and sees these two random sticks on his screen and is like who the fuck are you guys

Yk Back At The Random Ghost Rebel Stuff

A straight up ramble but does anyone feels this retching feeling in their hearts whenever they think about the High Cloud Quintet and its lore and go like "Dang, if only we COULD change what had happened bc this crap is dark and sad as hell" because that's what I feel like right now

And lemme tell you: It's not a good feeling bc I don't even want to think about how they're all just old and tired grannies and grandpas. The only person that has proper solace in the High Cloud Quintet is flipping Baiheng bro—poor Yingxing got turned into Blade bc yk—he's the beloved of that one relic set story.

Dan Flipping Feng becomes Dan Heng and even as Dan Heng he doesn't get a single drop of solace bc now the former-artisan-now-maniac dude is chasing him all across the universe bc of the sins of the past and it's just so heartbreaking bc Dan Heng isn't Dan Feng and Blade is only the shadow of Yingxing (this concept with Yingxing and Blade heavily reminds me of Makoto and Ei—Ei was the shadow of Makato and the shadow of the light is all that remains ykyk)

And then there's Jingliu who just straight up asks her student to kill her if she ever becomes mara-struck and in the end she still lives somehow and then she decides to go full-traumatizer with Blade back when he was the Unnamed that wandered the place—as if he needed MORE trauma and honestly her weak grasp over the mara which in turn makes her insane is so upsetting bc in the end she ends up having beef with a 14 year-old lieutenant who's trying to do his job and protect the Luofu (though, I have to admit it: as much as I want to protect my child Yanqing, his methods were kind of flawed—) even if he doesn't know who Jingliu is.

And ofc we got the last man standing Jing Yuan who just sees ghosts in everyone around him. Istg I feel like bc he sees ghosts, he can't move on from the past, and when he can't move on from the past, it's honestly a red flag bc it might mean that his present relationships with everyone are (sometimes) only just one-sided or something. Like, take the relationship between Yanqing and he: Yanqing trusts the General with his life bc he raised him as a baby. But the fact that he calls Jing Yuan "General" and not some sort of parental title says that Jing Yuan is being unnecessarily secretive due to his fear of vulnerability. I mean—literally in 1.2 Story Quest, Jing Yuan quite literally just left Yanqing on the island alone after he got beat up by two men that have beef with one another, practically leaving him in the dark with no explanation. And even before that, Yanqing was still left in the dark. Jing Yuan doesn't open up easily bc of the crap he's been through, which is understandable, but his lack of explanation backing up his highly meticulous moves—that's not really healthy. In the end, it just leaves a gap of mistrust, be it intentional or not, between Jing Yuan and Yanqing. In some cases, and this one (imo atleast) is one of them, if you don't explain your actions, it pretty much just leaves the person that's been left in the dark with their waves of emotions, which might cost said-relationship between the two people in the long run.

It also seems like (based off what we know of, at least) at least half of Jing Yuan's choices are also connected to sentimental reasons and seeing ghosts in people. I think he sees a ghost in Yanqing (idk who tho—ppl say it's Yingxing bc of his obsession over the sword), he sees one in Yukong (definitely Baiheng), he sees one in Dan Heng (obvious reasons, very evident throughout the game) and possible Bailu (because she's technically being hailed as the next Imbibitor Lunae after Dan Feng's sin), and it could possibly go on. This old grandpa really is comparing the present with his past and that's honestly a little heartbreaking, bc there is a chance that that might mean that Jing Yuan found more happiness (serotonin work hardcore fr) in his past than he does in his present. He should at least be happy enough of the present to not be this sentimental of the past, but he's really suffering of the incidents like bro—

The High Cloud Quintet is like The Five Yakshas from Genshin Impact but with more lore (that we know of) and more angst twists (that we know of) to it fr. It's so heartbreaking and angsty, I both love it, hate it, and cry about it.

Classic: reluctant at first for sure, but secretly likes it. usually he likes being able to protect the people around him, but being held is... suprisingly nice. His favorite is obv Paps, but he really likes Grillby cuddles too.

Pyrus: Oh he loves it! He doesn't really have a cuddle buddy but he will hug the shit out of anyone within reach and it's PYRUS who doesn't want to give him a hug?? vaguely remembers Classic cuddles when he was little and loved them.

Blue: in his head? oh yeah, hopping straight into his lovers arms. "HOLD ME!" in reality? uh. not so much. He loves cuddles but once Stretch got "too old" for them, which is bullshit, he compensated by being really touchy. Once he got with Vet.. yeah. He's on him CONSTANTLY. He likes that he's cold.

Stretch: oh he loves being held and holding people, but is.. really awkward and nervous about it. the idea of being held and holding people is great though

Red: oh, big guys loves cuddles for sure. his past girls can definitly testify that his guy as warm and fshkdajfbeaf i love him. loves holding people and will not be caught dead as the little spoon.

Edge: Also a big spoon, doesn't give a singular fuck that he's shorter than his partners. Watch him. very warm, loves that Dezi is pleasently cool and apollo's middle temp. he loves them.

Helvetica: super. super. just. AAAAA. i love him. *slaps skeleton ass* this bad boy can hold SO much trauma in him. after his.. very traumatic relationship with his version of grillby and his universe in general he has an odd feeling for touch. blue being cold really helps his touch aversion though! he likes it fine, but it's not a need for him. he found being held very comforting when he was panicking during the hurricane though. and even though he loves his little brother.. they just didn't really do.. touch. so. it's complicated.

Malvery: oh same as Stretch. loves the idea, doesn't really have anyone to cuddle with though. he does wish that the others were.. uh. well. apollo was real pretty. and so was dezi. and Edge had been protecting him for a while. uhm.

Hop: He had a girl back in his home universe. Cuddles we're.. awkward and weren't really his thing, but he still liked them alright.

Tango: very single and wants to keep it that way. the idea of cuddles are fine, but he's not all that attatched to touch. he likes movement.

Cosmic: he misses his grillby so damn much. he would give anything for fire cuddles atp.

Orion: pretty much the same as tango. just kinda meh.

Dust: Touch starved but also touch adverse. Keigo and Dyrus are the only people than can touch him and not make him feel like there are fucking termites in his bones. keigo holding him had him melting a little bit though ngl :)

Dyrus: "DON'T TOUCH ME. ALSO I'M A GHOST, GOOD LUCK."

Mars: ABSOLUTE cuddle bug, he loves it. Keigo and Lust are his favorites for sure, he loves how tiny they are compared to him, and feeling like he can protect them is very therapeutic after having no control for so long. Smell is big for him and he loves they way they smell. not in a cannibal way tho. yk.

Lust: touch made him very nervous for a long time. but. Mars made him feel very safe. cuddles with Mars were always an immediate yes. (and if the wamth reminded him just a bit of grillby.. nobody had to know. He'd moved on for the most part, genuniely, but the smell of smoke and heavy warmth would always be a comfort to him) and Keigo!! yes! Keigo is so cute to lust and he just wants to squeeze him. the tortured trio fr.

Dezi: it took him a while. like.. a while but being with Edge and Apollo has him so much more relaxed. when he and lust first arrived in the new univserse, he was almost entirely mute and struggles with any contact, but he was damn near a new monster now. He loves how warm Edge is, he's like a fucking space heater, and Apollo feels like winter sunlight. just. yes.

Keigo: had a very hard time with touch at first. as a human, he hated it sometimes. he despretely wanted affection but couldn't stand people touching him. like. at all. hes a lot better now, no skin to crawl, hahah, and he loves his Mars-Lust cuddles. Apollo and Grillby are still his favorite cuddle buddies though. Chara too. Grillby is so warm and. aaaaaa they're so in love. Apollo is literally his baby dont get him started, and chara's his daughter and he is a very proud and protective father. they don't really cuddle, but the hugs are sweet. Apollo and Grillby's wing cuddles are the best though

Apollo: oh he loves wing cuddles and being curled up with keigo is probably his most favorite, nostalgia inducing thing ever. but. Edge and Dezi have him feeling romantical so. LMAO. He loves them <333 the cuddles are so good and he loves being the little spoon, even though he hopes they switch around with it! he wants to hold them as well! it's his job, isn't it?

i gotta be the last person to watch Carrie (1976) on earth fr, i've been slacking off doing it and then i finally did and i liked it sm i had to watch the other versions just to make sure that the first is indeed the best, i gotta buy the novel tho to check if i like it better, saw some Stephen King books in a library in the center, i haven't been there in a while, i'm sure i can find it elsewhere tho. I just think the first movie is amazing, it's so beautiful, well made and deep i have a loooot to say about it, i'd watch it again for sure, the 2014 movie was good too, althou i don't like all of Chloë's movies, she's really pretty and did great but i just don't like actors who have one face in every movie, it's not always their fault, but i can't project into the character when it looks exactly like every other roles they have done before, ofc its the same person, but it also looks like the same persona (do i even make sense rn) but that's just me, no hate tho.

One thing i kept thinking abt is how Carrie's mother is def insane, it's not just abt her being religious, she's just batshit crazy, like there's religious then "there's not wanting your daughter to have her periods" or "no sex after marriage" kind of nuts. I get it if she's celibate or wanted to be a nun, but she just sounds like she had been abducted and r**ed in a forced marriage while she still had a kid's (who had been in a religious order/family) mind, she's much too extremist. It's either that or King has no idea over religious women (or women in general).

Another thing, (well i'm sure there's 21455623212 Carrie analysis out there that pointed this out already) but Carrie seems to have Hemophobia, her reaction at getting her first periods (even if zaama she never heard of these ever, which really Stephen? just sounds insane) thus freaking out, even then it's still exaggerated for just a shocked reaction (esp in the first movie) she looks like she's completely out of it, also breaking down and having a panic attack until her teacher slaps her to get her out of her extase like state.

Instead, i kind of feel like this unlocked this trauma or Phobia (could be either, could be earlier), talking abt the first movie still, this is why when the pig blood was thrown over her, she doesn't look like herself anymore, her eyes are wild open, blown out, and she really looks in a trance here, like she's completely in another world and doesn't know what she's doing, and at the moment when she's in her bathroom, cleaning out the blood out of her skin, we can see a sudden switch in her expression as if she was no longer hypnotized and she freaked out and realization washed over her. At least that's what i really felt happened in the 1st movie, she acted really different afterwards with her mother.

Third point is about how adorable Miss Desjardin is, she's what i strive for to be as a teacher or an adult in general, responsible and witty, kind and compassionate. She had interfered when she saw the others bullying Carrie, comforted her, punished the bullies, checked out on Carrie when she was sulking and gave her a pep talk, she felt that Tommy and Sue's action were fishy so she looked into it, warned them, came to cheer on her and check on her date in the prom, said some supportive things, looked delighted when Carrie won, honestly her only slip up is not noticing that Sue had changed and refused to listen to her when she tried to warn them but she did that with Carrie's best interests in mind, so honestly she did better than any other teacher i've seen in any teenage movies to date.

I felt really bad for her ending in the first movie, glad they fixed it by the third (can't talk abt the second much bcz i couldn't finish it tbh) i had wished for a different ending, that she'd end up adopting or taking care of Carrie which brings me to my fourth point.

I really really feel like Roald Dahl took one look at Carrie and told himself "welp, let's fix that", because Matilda really sounds like an AU for Carrie now (that i've seen, i can't unsee it,) if it was a children book and she had found her refuge in books and her loving teacher earlier in her life.

I'm ofc not accusing him of copy rights infringements, ofc not, the two stories are completely different with only the Telekinesis ability in common (as well as the abusive family and supportive teacher), but hear me out, who hasn't looked at a work before and told themselves it deserves a happier ending? there's even a whole fanfiction genre called fix-it fics and i know i've read and even Privately written a few esp for the JJBA anime and especially for the first season, two lines underlining Dio Drando, because he's my favorite character ever and i always wished things were different for him. Which is my last point, but let's talk about Malida/Carrie for a bit first.

If i ever did a Carrie fixit fic, it'll end up looking pretty similar to Matilda, the idea of it being inspired from it in any way makes me giddy in the stomach because that's what i'd have wanted for Carrie, to have found a lifestyle to keep her sane and leveled up, despite all the abuse going on around her, to find smn to take care of her, to not have fallen to the darkness, this would have been the perfect AU and i'm sure there's some written abt her out there, along with so many other good ideas ofc. I've read some theories that Carrie and Matilda are atleast from the same universe which sounds reasonable.

My last point has to do with smth i feel Stephen King wanted to say through Carrie's insane mother, when she saw her in pink, predicted she'll come back in red, said she attempted to kill herself when she was about to have her then about to give her to god, but she was weak bcz she loved her and couldn't do it, she ended up being the devil though. It feels too much like smth similar Speedwagon said in JJBA s1 (and which feels like it's Araki's plot narration) when he said that Dio shouldn't fool them with his rough upbringings and difficult childhood, that the guy was evil from birth or smth, this also reminds me a bit of smth Zodd (i think?) said to Guts in Berserk, abt Griffith and his nature, although it's not compltely similar, none of these cases are but they have smth in common.

I hate the implication, (even by a side character which feels like the author speaks through him) that a person was inevitably going to become evil, and that it was decided from birth, that despite all the shit they had to go through in life, none of it counts as much as smth they have no control over and it was decided from birth and they are just evil and they'd have been anyways even if they grew up in different circumstances and didn't face any shit in their lives, it just goes against all of my beliefs.

Ofc i'm not accusing the creators of these works (i haven't even read king yet so i'm not judging that) or putting words in their mouths, they aren't excplicitely saying these characters are inherently evil, but it's the underlying subtext that ticks me off, and it doesn't have to be all the story that carries it, it could just be the mantra of one character (like in the first 2 cases), suggesting just a different perspective but still it always leaves a sore taste in my mouth.

Like dudee, nobody is born evil or the devil or whatever (idc if it's fiction on this point) that implication is just stupid and ignorant. I'm not saying that smn should hide behind their environement and background to justify their actions, ofc not, those have an effect but in the end of the day, the decision is ours, always, we have a free will.

So we should be judged over our actions, yes, our background should be taken into consideration in the long run, but not as an exuse to the actions we took on our own accord, a crime is a crime, whoever did it. But going as far as to dismiss any relation between these things is just wrong and putting it on our very nature and essence from birth is all kinds and shapes of wrong, it's such a loathable idea to me istg lol
