I may be too old to be part of the campus protests going on now, but I have the utmost respect for these students and supporters.

The kids in their first years of college? They were born in 2004-6. They were kindergarten age when Sandy Hook happened. They were in junior high when covid hit. They are struggling to choose a path to education that doesn't put their own lives or entire vulnerable populations at risk.

I was born in 1990. The first instance of school violence I knew of was Columbine, and I was 9. The first instance of terrorism or threat to my "normal" was 9/11, and I was 11. My first indication that the US might not be the altruistic big brother of the world was the invasion of Iraq in 2003, I was 13. The first time I realized that family financial situations can change unpredictably, was 2005 (parental medical issues, followed by 08 crash), and I was 15. My first experience being the victim of police brutality was in 2007, I was 17. The first currently-happening protests I knew of were Occupy Wall Street in 2011, I was 21. The first ongoing attempts at revolution I was aware of were Arab Spring in 2012, I was 22. I was in my 30s when I learned colleges support genocide and the military industrial complex. For the first three decades of my life, I was able to convince myself the system was working and progress was happening, at a snail's pace, but nonetheless.

These kids have NEVER existed in a world that felt safe, have never had a future that seemed secure, have never even lived the illusion of the American Dream. The kids who are trying to choose a college that doesn't support genocide were the first kindergartners to do active shooter drills, how do they choose which university to allow to point guns at them? These were the first kids to have to live through, and study the historical impact of Covid, and they saw that the economy is valued above all else. These kids lost their virginity or came out of the closet in a world that was getting safer only to have healthcare taken from them. The world has failed this generation so intensely, and I can only hope y'all hold society accountable.

I have a child now, a true Gen Alpha Honey badger, and I am so hopeful that gen z can lead the charge to making sure my child doesn't have to face these same choices. Go forth, we got your backs, I'm too old and disabled to be front lines anymore, but I'll show up with snacks and do the jail release runs. I'll babysit and cook for when y'all get back from your actions.

I think it’s also important to remember the root of these fuck ups, because intention does matter when it comes to analyzing characters as it explains character motivation, and it also affects Ruby and Yang’s perception/opinion of said characters.

Tai was battling depression from the loss of his romantic partner.

Qrow had already been a drunk and hated himself, which means the expectation of any parental responsibility from him as an uncle also started off way differently.

Summer died.

Raven left because she was too scared/weak to be a parent.

Maybe I’m just in better fandom spaces, but when I see Raven as being painted as the worst parental figure of Team STRQ, it’s because her motive is the worst of the group. It’s easier to feel empathetic towards the other 3, and the girls themselves express more empathy towards them than Raven. So it’s not like we as the audience are reaching a conclusion that the narrative is not directly leading us to.

Also, perhaps even more importantly, Tai and Qrow both improved. They demonstrated growth and change which involves recognizing that they are the problem and thus fixing their behavior is the only solution. While Raven when challenged immediately goes on the defensive and lashes out, determined not to accept any guilt or judgment or take responsibility.

Yeah, I agree they were all fucks up one way or another that were still extremely damaging to Ruby and Yang, but one definitely stands apart from the others.

I think it’s time I address what is by far the BIGGEST assumption much of the fandom has made about Ruby’s and Yang’s parents:

That Raven was just the shitty parent who abandoned her daughters, and that Summer and Tai were the uncomplicated GOOD parents who made the good choices. And Qrow was the well-meaning fuckup who’s been able to improve.

When the reality is that ALL of Team STRQ were in fact well-meaning but  MASSIVE fuckups in each their own way.

Like if nothing else, they all bailed on Ruby and Yang in one way or another (Raven and Summer physically, Tai emotionally/psychologically for several years, Qrow a bit of both)

And I have a good feeling that the Vacuo arc will be when Ruby and Yang will finally have to address that shit.

Easy answer is the senju are very touchy feely, easily and willingly sleeps around (they face a lot less risk of bloodline theft due to rarity of the mokuton so there isn't as much ingrained cultural fear of being assulted/facing the baby shaped consequences of sleeping around willy nilly)

They can take multiple spouses and it's actually rare for the head of house to have only one wife (Hashirama is an exception bc Mito is a Princess(tm) and so to take another wife would risk offending her own clan culture, he is fine with this and they possibly often take others to bed with them just for funzies (potential hashimitoizu noises(?)))

Uhh anyways so that, they're super liberal with touch, etc. Etc.

Also they don't really do crazy deep romance and are super used to casual no strings attached flings, you have to make yourself VERY clear in what you're doing if you want to actually start a fr relationship bc otherwise many "courtship" behaviors are just like. Casual, culturally acceptable flirting and invitations to bang (the senju have a 101 different ways to proposition eachother in flower language alone.)

Meanwhile the Uchiha are on the total opposite side of the spectrum— they're like super conservative (In contrast to the Senju not having an ingrained fear of bloodline hunters, their very valuable and very vulnerable kekkei genkkei makes them prime victims, which has lead them having generations of trauma fueled insane abstinence lessons)

+ They're a noble clan and regularly interact with the Daimyo's court, so there's even more etiquette culture ingrained into them so they can send anyone into court if needed (While the Senju, who are NOT a noble clan, only ever send their main house, and so only they have to even worry about court etiquette)

They do not believe in divorce, they do not believe in political marriages (tho they do happen very very rarely, it's seen as very sad and tragic when it does) they... sometimes believe in multiple spouses, in specific situations (they can't regularly interact w the daimyo's court and not have to face it as a concept, after all)

So like. Super up tight, hella rules about how to show affection and proper ways to conduct yourselves, months long courting rituals before u even get to kissing, to sleep together before marriage is SINFUL

But they're ALSO super fucking romantic and absolutely insane about having soulmates and one true loves and are just super intense ab all that romance stuff where the senju are super relaxed in it

I think u see where this is going

Anyways uhhh

They make a village and there's tons of culture shock

Then Tobirama, being Tobirama (standoffish and cold, not especially interested in the usual wild Senju sex parties or whatever tf kind of events they're hosting in the gardens) is like, among the most "normal" to the Uchiha (from a cultural standpoint)

And bc of that, Madara maybe interacts w him more like "well he's kind of awful but at least he's not a sex FREAK like the rest of these Senju WHORES"

Umm Madara tries to court Tobirama but Tobirama sees it as him only trying to bang (?)

Which he possibly doesn't even want to do

Tobirama is like "Ah man, if only he were interested in actual courtship, but he has only given me the Senju flowers of "I wish to ravish you in the fields" and not the senju flowers of "I am potentially interest in maybe going on a date" (a proposition that a)he received not too infrequently, and so was not odd, and b) he politely rejected by accepting the flowers then showing Madara that he had planted it in red soil)

Meanwhile, Madara is like. "Wow this courtship is going so great he's accepting all my Uchiha flowers of pure devotion and innocent love in bloom"

Just in general, their clans having different flower meanings could be funny actually. The Uchiha regularly interact with court so I think they'd have to have, like, "normal" flower meanings (or else theres be some implications there of how theye gotten so far while using incorrect flower meanings in genuinely important events) so that means its the Senju who have odd meanings for flowers-- which also works, bc, like, mokuton

however many years ago, a previous descendant with mokuton told his clansmen the ""real"" meaning of these flowers,,, u wouldnt get it,,,

Another fun route could be, like, the Uchiha method of declaring ones intentions to court someone also happens to be the Senju's method of declaring a feud.

Madara tries to flirt with Tobirama only for Tobirama to understand this as Madara telling him to his face that the peace may be ongoing but he'll always hate his bitch ass !!!

Rating dynamics between characters in Dead Boy Detectives that never actually interacted that much or at all, for absolutely no reason.

- Starting off with probably the most reasonable as number one: Charles and Monty.

I absolutely adored the quiet bitchiness between these two. Not a word was said and everyone could see they can't stand each other now make them solve a case together. Bonus points if they actually bond over shitty parents or the fact that they're basically different flavours of the same person. Solid pairing I give it a 7/10 and I would love to see more of them in s2.

- Up next we got number two: Jenny and The Cat King.

I genuinely don't know why everyone is sleeping on this pairing, this is a comedic goldmine and i will not take any criticism on it. I mean...goth & slut is such a funny concept for a duo and I REALLY want the two of them to be forced into solving some kind of minor case. If we want to ramp up the chaotic energy we should absolutely add Maxine into the mix (bonus points if she's a ghost and becomes besties with CK) 9/10 i love it.

- After the strong one let's go with a chill one for number three: Tragic Mick and the dandelion sprites

Just imagine them, in their silly jar on the counter of the shop and trying to insult him and cussing out his customers. Imagine people entering the shop, trying to buy something and being forced to listen to his tragic backstory while getting roasted for their haircut at the same time. Fun concept but not my fav so I'll give it a 5/10.

- For number four we've got: Edwin and Kashi

I feel like this could actually be an incredibly funny combination. All-time-trauma-olympics-winner and Guy-who-got-swallowed-by-a-giant-fish-and-refuses-to-let-it-traumatise-him. The more thought i put into this, the madder i get that this wasn't actually in the show this could have actually had some super interesting influence on Edwins character development and it's a comedic goldmine. Confident 10/10 would love to see it.

- Next up is number five with: Monty and The Night Nurse

Either they would get along great or one of them would start crying. Generally I think they would be a team that Gets Shit Done and I, for one, would love to see it. All in all it's pretty similar to the Niko and NN dynamic tho so I give it a 7/10.

- Number six iiiiisssss (drumroll pls): Night Nurse and The Cat King

I know both of them were mentioned before but fr this is hilarious. Either he would end up dead or she would quit her job immediately, no inbetween. They don't have much conflict besides annoying each other to the death so there aren't that many possibilities to elaborate on the dynamic but it would have been a funny side dialogue in the show. I give it a 7/10 (bonus points if we throw crystal into the mix, simply because she would enjoy frustrating the shit out of the other two and I need that kind of content in my life).

- Last but not least with number seven, we've got Esther and Maxine

I feel like they would become best friends. They would get along ✨flawlessly✨. Not necessarily because they have much in common but simply because they match each others freak and would feel very validated. Imagine them, having a girls night and gossiping about crazy shit they did due to a relationship gone wrong. Honestly flawless I would have loved seeing Maxine as an evil goon. (Bonus points if she ends up getting a crush on Esther, who thinks it's incredibly entertaining). Can't find any minus point in this so I'll give it a 10/10.

its up to anyone who they like or dislike and none of my business ofc but i do feel like luka gets hated for the dumbest reasons, mainly for doing the things he does on stage. alnst IS some kind of fucked up dog show where the winner gets killed on stage, ofc luka wants to win and survive. yes he manipulates his opponents by mimicking/triggering trauma (suas death, ivans death) to make them falter to secure his victory even more and its awful, yes hes being absolutely diabolical abt it. luka shouldnt be treated like some poor cinnamon roll who didnt do anything wrong but also not as if he was the one who killed the others w his own hands. he wants to survive and its fine to him if he plays dirty

(kinda fun to see this in contrast to ivan in R3 patiently waiting for his opponents turn, giving them a chance to sing for their life unlike till who just played his own song, and still looking like he knew he would win. meanwhile luka is skilled ofc (hes the previous alnst winner after all) but he still wants to secure an absolute victory by doing what he does. arent they both confident in their victory but acting different? sry for constantly bringing up ivlk but theyre honestly sm fun w their similarity and difference)

good grief by bastille is probs, in my mind, the most AAI song out there (it's one of the first tracks i put on the dev playlist LOL). only one character in the game has a route that deals with the loss of someone else, but everyone else has a route that deals with another kind of loss -- the loss of a dream, the loss of who they used to be before trauma, etc. mourning/loss/grief are feelings felt by more people than just those who lose others to death, albeit the scale of those feelings is quite different.

i also like this song a lot in general, because it's a mournful song while also being frank about the feeling of loss. and there's still some hope in it, somewhere. one comment on that youtube video says something like "it's a happy depression", which i like. i hope adonia ai is able to embody that same feeling for others.

THE DARK LORD THE DARK LORD THE DARK LORD (red is my second favorite tho). okay so, honestly it's just the amount of potential and trauma i could give him. i love his character and lore like, the idea of the Mission Code. what does it mean that you've been created for the sole purpose to destroy, and what does it mean that the person you're made to destory become your best friend? like, the existance of that code brings up so much potential and you could literally take it in so many ways. and like, just the story of cho and dark being two people who were coded for a purpose and run away. what...happens to that purpose? what are you supposed to do now? it's very "what am i if not a weapon?" "yourself. isn't that a wonderful person to be?" (i also dont remember where this quote is from). and also, i look at this little bastard and i think ah yes, he is a goddamn maniac. absolutely insane. i can make him as unhinged as possible and i think that's amazing.

i also think it's great that it's so easy for me to just do whatever i want with him like he's some dress up doll. i've got a genderbent version of him. i've got him with ADHD. i've got him with autism. i've got him trans. he's depressd. he has anxiety. he's in love. there's no saving him.

KO/MANGO TALK LETS GO !! you're def right, he was forigven too soon, but i like to think or hope that they at least had a bit of bonding. okay well first off i want to start off with: i see a lot of content where we view mango as like around 20 years old which i want to immedately have on the table: what do you mean 20 years old. he's got a goddamn kid that seems to be maybe 8-10, he's got to be at least reaching 40 by the time we actually see him in AVM. and no, 40 is not too old, they can still do backflips and fight ppl (as long as mango maintained a healthy lifestyle with daily exercise, healthy diet, and good sleep).

i love the fact that he went evil because he lost his son, and that he got lost in his anger and started hurting everyone around him. although i do think his and purple's relationship could do with A LOTT of work. their trust was broken over and over again (mostly on purple's end) and im not sure mango particularily remembers how to treat a child well. and did mango ever like,,,yk,,,properly grieve for his son? for all we know, he went home the same day he lost gold, punched his wall a lot, then went straight to working on the staff. now that he doesn't have that drive anymore, i think that's all going to catch up to him. he really needs to properly grieve and mourn and recover before he goes about doing anything else.

he can, in fact however, be a good person/father as long as he's got that under the belt. (which you could def see that he was pretty swag when he still had gold). i personally see him as a raspy and gruff guy so he's also a man of very few words. that also means he probably has a buttload of communcation issues that is gonna affect his relationship with other people. he has got A LOT to work on

i also want to mention how i don't particulary enjoy the "overprotective father that trails their child everywhere". i don't think a lot of people view mano this way either, but i just want it on the table that even though mango would definitely be protective of purple, he won't be weird about it

6). ohhhh okay okay if you've read my fics you know i am in love with the "siblings victim & dark" as well as "siblings chosen and second". i feel like vic and dark are both insane and enable the worst, unhinged parts of each other. and then chosen and second are pretty much polar opposites with "doesn't say a word + yapper"

i also love it when CC treat red as like the youngest hyper sibling bc he really does give off that energy. also I AGREE WITH YOU purple and red together were so cute it was so unexpected but i love that

i also really really really want to see dark and purple interact with each other. mostly because they're probably the two most least likely characters to ever see each other. but i like the idea of dark terrorizing purple and it works because purple the whole time is like 'holy fuck this is that terrorist holy fuck shit oml'

i also want to see purple and mango interact with alan. im not sure if they ever did? but id like to imagine one day alan logs onto his computer and sees these two random sticks on his screen and is like who the fuck are you guys

i ADORE blue + yellow. both in a platonic and romantic sense. they're like skater girl + nerd girl to me. they're so goddamn adorable and i'm very obsessed with seeing them. they hold hands. they're polar opposites. they're always together. they're the duo that if you just see one of them it seems wrong. if one of them is missing, you automatically ask the other one where they are, because they no doubt would know. gods they're so entwined with each other

Yk Back At The Random Ghost Rebel Stuff

A straight up ramble but does anyone feels this retching feeling in their hearts whenever they think about the High Cloud Quintet and its lore and go like "Dang, if only we COULD change what had happened bc this crap is dark and sad as hell" because that's what I feel like right now

And lemme tell you: It's not a good feeling bc I don't even want to think about how they're all just old and tired grannies and grandpas. The only person that has proper solace in the High Cloud Quintet is flipping Baiheng bro—poor Yingxing got turned into Blade bc yk—he's the beloved of that one relic set story.

Dan Flipping Feng becomes Dan Heng and even as Dan Heng he doesn't get a single drop of solace bc now the former-artisan-now-maniac dude is chasing him all across the universe bc of the sins of the past and it's just so heartbreaking bc Dan Heng isn't Dan Feng and Blade is only the shadow of Yingxing (this concept with Yingxing and Blade heavily reminds me of Makoto and Ei—Ei was the shadow of Makato and the shadow of the light is all that remains ykyk)

And then there's Jingliu who just straight up asks her student to kill her if she ever becomes mara-struck and in the end she still lives somehow and then she decides to go full-traumatizer with Blade back when he was the Unnamed that wandered the place—as if he needed MORE trauma and honestly her weak grasp over the mara which in turn makes her insane is so upsetting bc in the end she ends up having beef with a 14 year-old lieutenant who's trying to do his job and protect the Luofu (though, I have to admit it: as much as I want to protect my child Yanqing, his methods were kind of flawed—) even if he doesn't know who Jingliu is.

And ofc we got the last man standing Jing Yuan who just sees ghosts in everyone around him. Istg I feel like bc he sees ghosts, he can't move on from the past, and when he can't move on from the past, it's honestly a red flag bc it might mean that his present relationships with everyone are (sometimes) only just one-sided or something. Like, take the relationship between Yanqing and he: Yanqing trusts the General with his life bc he raised him as a baby. But the fact that he calls Jing Yuan "General" and not some sort of parental title says that Jing Yuan is being unnecessarily secretive due to his fear of vulnerability. I mean—literally in 1.2 Story Quest, Jing Yuan quite literally just left Yanqing on the island alone after he got beat up by two men that have beef with one another, practically leaving him in the dark with no explanation. And even before that, Yanqing was still left in the dark. Jing Yuan doesn't open up easily bc of the crap he's been through, which is understandable, but his lack of explanation backing up his highly meticulous moves—that's not really healthy. In the end, it just leaves a gap of mistrust, be it intentional or not, between Jing Yuan and Yanqing. In some cases, and this one (imo atleast) is one of them, if you don't explain your actions, it pretty much just leaves the person that's been left in the dark with their waves of emotions, which might cost said-relationship between the two people in the long run.

It also seems like (based off what we know of, at least) at least half of Jing Yuan's choices are also connected to sentimental reasons and seeing ghosts in people. I think he sees a ghost in Yanqing (idk who tho—ppl say it's Yingxing bc of his obsession over the sword), he sees one in Yukong (definitely Baiheng), he sees one in Dan Heng (obvious reasons, very evident throughout the game) and possible Bailu (because she's technically being hailed as the next Imbibitor Lunae after Dan Feng's sin), and it could possibly go on. This old grandpa really is comparing the present with his past and that's honestly a little heartbreaking, bc there is a chance that that might mean that Jing Yuan found more happiness (serotonin work hardcore fr) in his past than he does in his present. He should at least be happy enough of the present to not be this sentimental of the past, but he's really suffering of the incidents like bro—

The High Cloud Quintet is like The Five Yakshas from Genshin Impact but with more lore (that we know of) and more angst twists (that we know of) to it fr. It's so heartbreaking and angsty, I both love it, hate it, and cry about it.

Classic: reluctant at first for sure, but secretly likes it. usually he likes being able to protect the people around him, but being held is... suprisingly nice. His favorite is obv Paps, but he really likes Grillby cuddles too.

Pyrus: Oh he loves it! He doesn't really have a cuddle buddy but he will hug the shit out of anyone within reach and it's PYRUS who doesn't want to give him a hug?? vaguely remembers Classic cuddles when he was little and loved them.

Blue: in his head? oh yeah, hopping straight into his lovers arms. "HOLD ME!" in reality? uh. not so much. He loves cuddles but once Stretch got "too old" for them, which is bullshit, he compensated by being really touchy. Once he got with Vet.. yeah. He's on him CONSTANTLY. He likes that he's cold.

Stretch: oh he loves being held and holding people, but is.. really awkward and nervous about it. the idea of being held and holding people is great though

Red: oh, big guys loves cuddles for sure. his past girls can definitly testify that his guy as warm and fshkdajfbeaf i love him. loves holding people and will not be caught dead as the little spoon.

Edge: Also a big spoon, doesn't give a singular fuck that he's shorter than his partners. Watch him. very warm, loves that Dezi is pleasently cool and apollo's middle temp. he loves them.

Helvetica: super. super. just. AAAAA. i love him. *slaps skeleton ass* this bad boy can hold SO much trauma in him. after his.. very traumatic relationship with his version of grillby and his universe in general he has an odd feeling for touch. blue being cold really helps his touch aversion though! he likes it fine, but it's not a need for him. he found being held very comforting when he was panicking during the hurricane though. and even though he loves his little brother.. they just didn't really do.. touch. so. it's complicated.

Malvery: oh same as Stretch. loves the idea, doesn't really have anyone to cuddle with though. he does wish that the others were.. uh. well. apollo was real pretty. and so was dezi. and Edge had been protecting him for a while. uhm.

Hop: He had a girl back in his home universe. Cuddles we're.. awkward and weren't really his thing, but he still liked them alright.

Tango: very single and wants to keep it that way. the idea of cuddles are fine, but he's not all that attatched to touch. he likes movement.

Cosmic: he misses his grillby so damn much. he would give anything for fire cuddles atp.

Orion: pretty much the same as tango. just kinda meh.

Dust: Touch starved but also touch adverse. Keigo and Dyrus are the only people than can touch him and not make him feel like there are fucking termites in his bones. keigo holding him had him melting a little bit though ngl :)

Mars: ABSOLUTE cuddle bug, he loves it. Keigo and Lust are his favorites for sure, he loves how tiny they are compared to him, and feeling like he can protect them is very therapeutic after having no control for so long. Smell is big for him and he loves they way they smell. not in a cannibal way tho. yk.

Jupiter: "PASS. THANK YOU THOUGH!"

Lust: touch made him very nervous for a long time. but. Mars made him feel very safe. cuddles with Mars were always an immediate yes. (and if the wamth reminded him just a bit of grillby.. nobody had to know. He'd moved on for the most part, genuniely, but the smell of smoke and heavy warmth would always be a comfort to him) and Keigo!! yes! Keigo is so cute to lust and he just wants to squeeze him. the tortured trio fr.

Dezi: it took him a while. like.. a while but being with Edge and Apollo has him so much more relaxed. when he and lust first arrived in the new univserse, he was almost entirely mute and struggles with any contact, but he was damn near a new monster now. He loves how warm Edge is, he's like a fucking space heater, and Apollo feels like winter sunlight. just. yes.

Keigo: had a very hard time with touch at first. as a human, he hated it sometimes. he despretely wanted affection but couldn't stand people touching him. like. at all. hes a lot better now, no skin to crawl, hahah, and he loves his Mars-Lust cuddles. Apollo and Grillby are still his favorite cuddle buddies though. Chara too. Grillby is so warm and. aaaaaa they're so in love. Apollo is literally his baby dont get him started, and chara's his daughter and he is a very proud and protective father. they don't really cuddle, but the hugs are sweet. Apollo and Grillby's wing cuddles are the best though

Apollo: oh he loves wing cuddles and being curled up with keigo is probably his most favorite, nostalgia inducing thing ever. but. Edge and Dezi have him feeling romantical so. LMAO. He loves them <333 the cuddles are so good and he loves being the little spoon, even though he hopes they switch around with it! he wants to hold them as well! it's his job, isn't it?

Changing my Friend's mind about Carol Danvers

I write a lot of Carol Danvers and Valkyrie Centric stuff, because my brain won't shut up, and a friend of mine really got into one of my fanfic series- (the silly cracky/ jk oops how'd that trauma get in there?)- one. He loves Brunnhilde, like, I'm talking die hard Val fan.

(Same, though.)

"Valkyrie's my favorite. Look at her. She's bisexual and she has a sword and she's an alcoholic with trauma. You can't beat that."

And I have always been a Carol Danvers girlie. Our friendship works so well because we have our little autism facets and we're both incredibly Queer. But it finally hit the nail on the head when he came over to chill, and I was rambling about the 616 comics and Carol's sobriety journey and how she's such an incredible character bla bla bla. And he said, "You know what? Fine. Show me the Marvels. I feel like I'm missing out."

Well, I did.

Tell me why this man, the instant Carol came on screen wearing her little white tank-top and chasing Goose around her ship, gulped so freaking loud, looked me dead in the eyes, and said- Loudly- "My god. That woman is the hottest thing I've ever seen."

And then, when Valkyrie came on: "Holy shit. Holy SHIT! She literally just swaggered her way onto the ship like she owns it. They kissed on the cheek! Damn... that's gay dude."

And then Monica: "Aunt Carol, my ass. Also, she's the smartest one in the room. Science nerd, fr. Everybody listen to her, please. I beg of you!" and then finally, as the credits rolled, and our beers were almost empty:

"I would die for Kamala Khan. And you can quote me on that."

So yeah... think I did my duty.

Little gush alert: (Been in this fandom for years, writing under different names and in different places. Wattpad, Fanfic.net, Ao3, rambling about the Comics and the MCU and Carol/Val in general. And it's waxed and waned a lot with involvement (boosted from 2019 tho!), as people get bored/ move onto other projects. It's sad seeing everyone leave, but it's the moments like this that make me smile. I think I'll probably be here for a while :) Maybe forever, honestly.)

Anyway. Be passionate about what you love. It might not make your friends see your OTP as 'the best thing ever,' but hey! You may get a bunch of laughter and a casual, "The way she fell out of her spaceship with the cat on her shoulder was incredible. 10/10 cinema. when i do my silly little rewrite of the entire series and go for noncanon ships over the canon ones, i still want to keep the essence and significance of the canon ships albeit in a platonic/non-romance version this time

as in, when it comes to the canon partners of the characters im writing (ginny, astoria etc.), i still want them to have a significant role in the characters' lives while also developing them outside of that so they wont fall into the trope of existing only for x and y . i want them to feel as human and as nuanced as i make the main characters

like for example

ginny and harry have a special bond as the unconventional slytherins (yes ginny is sorted into slytherin in nandhini's legacy AU) of their generation which is further developed by their shared trauma of facing tom riddle (bc it'll still happen in second year fr), and i also think theyre an impeccable chaser-seeker duo on the field . they have each others' backs and could pursue something romantic if they choose to put in the work but in this world, ginny isnt influenced by hero worship and sees harry in a different angle from the beginning aka an older brother figure that she can go to to complain abt her own family without feeling guilty . but beyond harry, ginny is trying to navigate and cultivate an identity outside of being her mother's coveted daughter and being in the shadow of phenomenal older brothers . the sorting hat threw her a curveball when it placed her in slytherin and she has to adjust all her notions of the future from that point forward .

meanwhile for draco and astoria :

i can see astoria as someone who is wise beyond her years but also physically fragile . the people around her cant decide if she shld be treated as a helpless baby or as a girl who is mature enough to deal with her own shit . her chronic illness turned daphne into a glass child and astoria, while close with daphne, feels very guilty abt it . as for draco and astoria's relationship, in this AU i still believe astoria will be the one to contribute the most to draco's unlearning of his blood purity prejudices and astoria's also one of the only ones who has enough balls to call draco out when no one else wants or is able to . draco is also able to help astoria be heard by her parents esp when they're in their extra overbearing eras and he has played mediator between her and her family when they fight . in the end i think astoria is still going to ⚰️ young but not before she is able to do things she actually enjoys, even tho she doesnt know what they are yet . she, draco, and daphne are helping her make a bucket list . there's so much she could do but she only has so little time .

i could go on and on about the choices i make for everyone's relationships and characterisations but like i think ive yapped on enough for today LMAOOOOO

I feel like dynamics where there’s some obstruction of sorts from it being just a regular happy healthy relationship is my fav ever because. It means there’s so much more yearning and pining involved and it’s so much more emotional I LOVE ITTTAUGHH and aroace spec reader is a great example of that. I feel like the main kinda reasoning (“obstruction”) would be how reader views the relationship they have with stsg and how they feel about it, the way it’s supposed to be just a regular platonic friendship but there’s so much unaddressed care and deep rooted love (that maybe reader doesn’t want to address) and it’s just a confusing mess of emotions. Reader being hesitant to accept that maybe it’s more than just a friendship because they aren’t 100% sure what those complex feelings that undoubtedly come with being ‘friends’ with stsg are. AND aside from aroace reader, a reader with intimacy/trust/abandonment issues or trauma that hasn’t been unpacked (take your pick!!) while it is the same kinda theme (basically just reader’s hesitance to have to face and attempt to understand their own emotions) it’s just. AUGH!! It’s such a yummy idea to me there are so many scenarios. Maybe reader just doesn’t want to be helped or is too untrusting/scared to open themselves up and be vulnerable with people again, is kinda introverted maybe, just generally like. Lost. almost as if they don’t really have a place anywhere? They don’t feel particularly special and they’re just painfully conscious of their own negative emotions + their own loneliness?? Are you seeing what I’m seeing. The type of person that could be in a room full of people and still not feel any less alone. In a way they’re a lot like sugu!!! and it’s not at all intentional on stsg’s side !!! they’re half expecting reader to reject them, but they’re just so sincere and tender about the confession. and i think that they just won’t be able to understand reader’s feelings even when they try to explain it :’3 because reader does like them. love them. but they don’t know if it’s romantic, and they don’t really want to know. and even if they knew for sure, they might not care for a standard relationship anyway!! it would just take a lot of understanding and support from stsg to even have that conversation without reader running away, but i think they’re both so gentle when it comes to you :(( they’re always willing to hear you out, and even if they don’t understand all the aspects of being aroace, that doesn’t mean they won’t support it.

…. tbh i’m not entirely sure how it’d work out 😭😭 i think it’d have to be kind of vague but i can picture the three of them living together, going grocery shopping and cuddling and whatnot, and there aren’t really any labels there. not for reader anyway. but they all love each other and that’s enough <33

Mutsuki for the ask game :3

My first impression: i didn't like any of the quinx squad on the first read i was insane im sorry everyone

My impression now: kinda on the border of how i feel about light vs misa honestly. i'm not a fan of his actions, but he has a special place in my heart. on the other hand, i can justify why he acted the way he did, and i can empathize with him. an interesting character that i love examining. (i may see a bit of the parts i don't like about myself in him...)

Favorite thing about that character: as i'll always say, i love when they're insane :3 my little insane pookie wookies :3 fr tho i love a good complex character that i can really analyze and pick apart

Least favorite thing: as a trans person, i'm not sure how i feel about how ishida characterized mutsuki's trans-ness. at quite a few points, it came off like ishida was making it seem like a mental illness rather than a legitimate identity maybe that's just me

Favorite line/scene: when mutsuki's kagune first appeared to comfort urie after he framed out at the auction raid. i think it says a lot about mutsuki's real personality underneath all the trauma induced insane

Favorite interaction that character has with another: any mutsurie interactions ! i love their relationship and i think they helped each other grow, it was really nice to see

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: i think i would want to see him with juuzou more, like outside of the training and ghoul fighting area. i want them to sit down and talk about how their horrific childhoods shaped them. juuzou grew a lot from in the gap between tg and re so i want to see him support mutsuki in his own growth, pass on his wisdom, generally be a mentor in more than a combat sense.

no fr WHY is everybody a single parent. I was SHOCKED to hear that Markus actually has a mom that's around lol. Also Leon deserves to be bullied but i don't blame the kid who does not have a mom for having abandonment issues. even if he shows them in interesting ways.

Oh, since we've started talking about moms, lemme rant about that

Apparently, we have a bunch of kids with mommy issues, even Jojo has it to a certain extent. But the one that shows it the most, a so-called CEO of that mess, is Leon.

If we look closely at the photos in the Wessel's kitchen, we can see some pictures that look a lot like a wedding. Thus, we can be sure that his dad was once married. You know, I could assume that she died, but honestly, I think she just left them or she and his dad had a tough divorce, that affected lil Leon's mind. Maybe that's why he and Marlon have such attitude towards girls, simply because they didn't have a good role model in their life.

Also another thing about Leon that keeps me awake at night for no reason. I remember in S1E2 he said to Willi that adults always lie or some shit like that. I'm probably digging too deep again, but I think that could also reflect his childhood trauma and resentment???

Also his whole behavior, Leon just has to be the best, to get attention from others.

And, it's just a theory, but maybe it might as well come back to his mother's departure. Some children from divorced families tend to blame themselves for one parent leaving them or trying to "be better", so they would come back. Maybe Leon one of these cases? Perhaps he's unconsciously trying to make his mother return by being "the best" or the opposite: he's trying to prove it to HIMSELF to not feel shitty?

Btw, about Marlon. He seems to be the most conscious and mature in general. But I don't think it's only because of his age (c’mon 1 year or so is not that big). If their mom really did leave them, Marlon, as an older sibling, probably had to take care of Leon along with his dad. Maybe that also somehow affected him and now he feels some kind of responsibility for the bunch as well. Like "a big bro" energy.

Jojo we've already discussed, though I don't really understand how this little sunshine could come out from such an environment.

Markus tho. Yeah, he's mother isn't dead nor did she leave or drink, but the show made it clear that she's hardly ever around. She wasn't even shown outside of the posters on the wall, and Markus mentions her like 2 times throughout the series.

We know that he has BIG daddy issues too, so he has to deal with it on his own, because there's no one around to stend up for him, but even if there was, it's not guaranteed that she would pick his side. And that's why he consideres the bunch his second family. He's true family, I would say.

That might have had an impact on his self-esteem too, cause' literally none of Markus's family members was approved of his interests. That also might be the reason he wants to become a famous goalie - just "to show them"

I think Vanessa in the books (movies??) didn't have a mom. She might be in the same situation as Leon and Marlon: she didn't have a good role model so she has bias attitude towards other girls.

Idk about Deniz and Raban tho. Deniz's mom wasn't mentioned anywhere in the cartoon. Maybe she is dead indeed.

And Raban... He's parents weren't mentioned AT ALL. Poor boy doesn't get enough screen time. But that's a good thing in some way, I can headcanon whatever I want and I'm going to headcanon him mommy issues.But actually he has an unstable self-esteem and he always sticks to people who are mean to him (ahem...Leon..ahem). Soo, maybe that's also sort of his parent's fault? Idk

A small dive into his mind shows he only feels joy or pleasure when harming another living thing, be it a wild animal or human. When he was a child he often came back home with dead rabbits, birds, and rats he killed himself. He's also a pyromaniac! As someone who's in a war general like position, he often sets off to "conquer" the opposing kingdoms villages, setting the houses on fire then waiting for the fleeing people to come out so he can brutalise them. In his kingdoms eyes he's seen as a fierce yet amazing war hero

akiba meido sensou (7.5/10)

so, i never meant to watch this show. i thought it would be just another CGDCT slice of life where maids do their maid stuff, and they have fun... I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS THO. this series is crazy, like, the first ep starts with a maid being shot in the head like ??????? and then ranko (best girl imo) starts shooting this rival maid group along with a cutsie song like ??????????????? i was both confused and charmed. this anime is such a blast, it's filled with twists and turns, random shit that it's bizarre but it also makes so much sense. i can't fully explain it, you need to watch it.

akuyaku reijou nano de last boss wo kattemimashita (4/10)

dear lord the toxicity here is astronomical. the way i was looking for a hamefura replacement and i ended up getting this... i feel scammed. this was meant to be a fantasy romance story, but it ended up being a contest to see who's the most toxic person in the relationship. between throwing someone out of a flying carriage just to see them cry and almost stabbing someone on the crotch because they want to break off their engagement with you... i don't know who's worse. they totally deserve each other.

blue lock (8.5-8/10)

i cannot decide myself on what rating i should give to it. while i do love bllk and think is one of the best sports series i've ever read, 8-bit's adaptation is... interesting. while i did think the first episode was amazing, the visual level just started dropping. some of the hand-drawn animation looks weird, and the cgi sometimes looks like it has been taken from a mobile game. i have mixed feelings with these series; while it's still fun and interesting, it just doesn't kick me as much in the chest as the manga does. if you wanna start bllk, please read the manga first.

bocchi the rock! (6.5/10)

as i said before, i'm not a big fan of CGDCT, and this series is just that. i was into the music part of the series and bocchi's social phobia (which, as someone who went through it, i think it's a pretty good representation), but it's still not my cup of tea. it bores me at times, and i'm the one to blame. it's not bad, it's just not my thing. if you're into this kinda stuff, i fully recommend it.

NOW THAT IS A GOOD SEASON. this one's adapting one of (if not the) best arcs in the series and hell yeah i'm hyped. in case someone hasn't started it, i won't spoil anything. i'll just tell you to please not worry about the quality: the art, animation and everything in general is being tretaed with so much thought and love. i'm just so happy to see all of them back!

boku no roboco (4/10)

(at this point, i've only watched two eps. my opinion on the series may change) i know the manga is popular, i know it makes a lot of anime references. i wanted to try giving it a chance and oh lord. first, it's difficult to find. second, it isn't even funny. if i'm not dropping it is because the episodes are short and fuck it. but not because you make a shit tone of anime references means that you're gonna be funny.

GUYS. GUYS. IT'S FINALLY HERE. BABE'S FINALLY HERE. AND OH LORD SHE'S LOOKING AMAZING. i've been waiting for this series for so long, (since it first got announced like holy fuck the feels). i have the entire part one on my bookshelf and it brings me so much joy (and tears and trauma and—) to finally see it animated. the animation, the art, the music, the voices— everything is just fantastic, perfect even. the op is a banger and each and every ed is just so good (some better than others imo). i'm so happy mappa were the ones that took the project like omg thanks mappa but fr fr. if i'm not giving it a higher note is because i'm afraid that would be my inner fangirl speaking so yeah. my children look perfect, that's enough for me. and fuck those who complain about the cgi istg—

cool doji danshi (7/10)

just a pretty chill slice of life short series about a bunch of dorks trying to survive in the wild. they're all so relatable and idk what to think about it. babe's also pretty absent-minded, so this is pretty comfy to me... is this how #representation feels like? besides that, there's not much to say about it since it's just... that. they exist, and i'm happy they do.

how many times have i said i don't like CGDCT series? many times, but i still go and watch them. why? because i'm dumb ig. it's just a series about a bunch of girls doing bricolage, that's pretty much it.

fumetsu no anata e 2 (8/10)

second season of "don't get attached to the cast because they're all going to die". at this rate, i think i'm made of stone because i haven't shead a tear in the entire series. i'm also getting use to the show's formula (introduce new character → make you feel attached to them → kill them), so ig that's also why i don't feel that sad anymore? idk, i do feel sad but not that sad yk. anyway, is as good as the first season so you should give it a try.

fuufu ijou, koibito miman. (6.5/10)

i started not liking the series (the male mc was annoying to me and i felt like he would only see the girls by their "personality"), but i ended up getting attached in some sort of way? it's an easy to watch, funny romcom that, even if it's nothing special, will entertain you for the time being.

kage no jitsuryokusha ni naritakute! (5.5/10)

i like the idea, but not the execution. i mean, kinda. it started being a parody of isekai series, but i feel like isekai is slowly but surely eating the show alive. i'm not that interested on the plot and the ecchi scenes and comments are... something. to give you some example: there was this scene where these girls would pose in ways others could check their breasts better and perceive them as bigger than their opponent's. or maybe the many comments they do about the protagonist's dick being a fricking sword????? umm not thank you.

koukyuu no karasu (7/10)

a historical fantasy shoujo series with interesting plot points and a cute romance?? hell yeah, count me in! each and every character is lovable af and trust me when i tell you you'll never get bored. the art is so cute and comfortable (idk how to explain it), and the romance is just... i just want them to date already, am i asking too much? definitely give it a chance.

mairimashita! iruma-kun 3 (8/10)

new iruma season and the first one i'm watching as it's coming out. the children are back and more chaotic than ever in this new arc (the best one yet, from what i heard). i just can't stress enough how this series makes me feel, how comfy it makes me feel. i've connected with the characters in such a way it just makes me smile every time each and every single one of them just appears on the screen. i'm so excited to see who'll win! (no spoilers please)

mob psycho 100 III (8.5/10)

this isn't the last season. no, i refuse to accept it. even though many characters are getting their closures and all this chaos is going on and every wish of them to have a happy life has turned to ash. this is not the end. and that never happened. no. just. leave me alone.

mushikaburi-hime (6/10)

so, they're trying to bring historical shoujos back and while we did get some interesting results (koukuuu no karasu), we also got series like mushikaburi-hime. the series is about a girl who is obssesed with books and a dude that isn't, but because he likes her he's up to deal with that little trait of hers. and... that's pretty much it. the series revolves around their relationship (which sometimes turns a bit toxic due to the male mc). the female mc hasn't progressed in over ten episodes, she won't progress now. if you're interested, there it is. but it's not a series i would recommend.

renai flops (7/10)

i said it before: i love shitshows. this one seemed to be a parody on ecchi, harem series which caught my eye. i mean, the first ep involves the dog scene which is one of the most bizarre scenes i've seen on any romcom. at first, i was gonna watch it for the laughs from how bad it all was, but then the second half happened and it changed my view on the series. from a parody that makes things absurd on purpose to something else. i would recommend anyone who's interested to watch it and please, do not spoil yourself.

shinobi no itokki (4/10)

this show is about a dude who goes to high school and he gets confessed to by a girl he doesn't know. only that it wasn't a confession but a trap, because that girl was a ninja and was trying to kidnap him. but he's able to runaway because he has all these ninja abilities that his mother forced him to learn and never questioned why. and then his mum tell him they're actually ninjas and now he has to go to this ninja school that's literally a high school building in the middle of nowhere like ????? i thought ninjas were discreet???? except no one cares about the school because then someone (don't ask, don't remember) gets betrayed and blames the dude's clan and shit happens and wth is going on????

spy x family part 2 (8.5/10)

part two of this very wholesome but also very fake family! their shenanigans are as crazy as they were in part one, and we got introduced to our queen, fiona. also, the main fake couple are growing closer due to the mission and i think that's pretty cool now get married for real this time.

tensei shitara ken deshita (6/10)

just your average isekai with better than average animation and a wholesome bond between both leads. besides that, i have no much to say about it. i absolutely adore fran and amanda, but the whole idea of fran being op almost from the start is frustrating. i wanna see her grow, but this left me kinda cold.

urusei yatsura (6.5/10)

many people were hyping this show, and i do understand why. after all, it's pretty rough fighting against nostalgia. still, even though the visuals are so cute and the op and ed are pretty good, it just shows the series it's an old one. the comedy falls flat at times along with some characters, although it's still enjoyable. i don't know if i'll keep on watching the second season, but for now i don't feel like dropping it.

uzaki-chan wa asobitai! ω (6/10)

so, uzaki is back. the first season has never been one of my favorites, but i decided to give the second season a try and watch it as it was coming out and... well, it's uzaki. for some of y'all it may be hilarious, but to me it's just fine. it's boring most of the time, although i do like the idea of the mcs dating (please do so for fuck's sake). if you're into this kind of comedy, you should give it a try.
