one of my favorite childhood games got a ""remaster"" for the switch but they replaced the music (arguably best part) and it looks so. So much worse than the original, and they want 30 dollars :/
Unrelated, now accepting eShop gift cards 🤲

Okay but see I'm so petty I would ignore vio forever now until he apologized that man needs to get on his mf knees if he even wanted me to look his damn direction fr
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the promised continuation of the vio angst🥰 i didn't screenshot all the asks requesting for it bc then this would just be a very long post of nonnies slowly cursing vio out more and more violently with each pic ahaha (which i love tbh😩💕) but know that i've read each and every single one🥺🩷 i wrote this one in his third-person limited so there's a bit more insight into his thoughts❗❗
(that being said, there isn't much grovelling and his asking for your forgiveness here which i'm really sorry abt. i did try to go that route originally to align w/ some of the requests i've gotten, but vio actually just isn't the type. at least at the point in the relationship being depicted!! gotta keep in mind he is super arrogant and has probably never apologised once in his life😔💔 tho, he is suffering in his own way, rest assured. the silent treatment kinda broke him haha)
warning that there is a bit of violence here and gaslighting (??), ig just typically what you'd expect to see in a yandere work,, this really ran away from me bc it's like 800 words😭
Three days had passed. Vio sat inside his trailer, feet up on the dressing table, more annoyed than he’d ever been in his entire life. Blue hair in his reflection, mussed from his constant ruffling, looking unkempt and barely like himself — and it was all your fault. His agency was paying you a salary in five figures and your only job was to take care of him, which inherently, you were doing, but you were also ignoring him and Vio couldn’t stand it.
His eyes flicked over almost instantly when you walked in, tracking every movement from your shutting the door to hanging your coat over the back of the closest chair. All Vio could see were the snowflakes in your lashes because that was all you’d let him, your gaze downcast, avoiding his. Pride made him bite his lips, because actually, he fucking missed the way you’d look at him. He missed your voice and he missed your pretty words, and it was all lumping in his throat so he couldn’t admit it although he wanted to.
Something weak sounded from him; a desperate grab for your attention that didn’t work. He kicked his script to the floor knowing you’d pick it up, then watched with a clenched jaw as you did exactly that, not even a fleeting glare in his direction. Somehow, Vio felt like he was running out of time, papers placed back neatly and your back already turning, it was the curl of worry in his gut that had his hand snapping to your wrist and tugging you back to him.
“You,” he gritted, frustrated at the pull back, at your resistance — no, your refusal of him. “Don’t fucking ignore me!”
Clearly, you weren’t listening, for all that Vio wrested you into his lap, your eyes wouldn’t even meet his through the mirror. Your bones solid against his palm, and he squeezed, hard enough to take you in, to let out the anger. Though, watching your face twist in pain, tendons in your neck constricting just to cut off the whimper, Vio didn’t even know who to be mad at anymore.
All he wanted was for you to give in.
He’d missed you so much, he would dream of you saying his name again. As you always would, and give him that love he was addicted to — yours, that tasted like kisses to open flesh. Raw and sincere to the point that Vio would rather stay splayed and bloodied instead of getting help. He didn’t feel like he could come back from this, or who he’d become because of you. If he was falling from grace, he’d hale you with him.
“Y/N…” This time, it came as a whisper, erratic mind lulled quick to the sensation of your pulse pressing firm against his fingers. Counting throbs, taking breaths for you, telling himself to be kinder, kinder. “Talk to me,” his forehead rested on your shoulder blade, “let’s not do this anymore, hm?”
Gentility got a rise out of you, it seemed, in the form of a gasp and the violent twists to free yourself that followed. “Don’t you dare,” your tone was accusatory, yet when Vio leaned away he saw the tell in your tears, “you’re not allowed to act fucking civil after what you did.”
His brow twitched. Irritation. He didn’t have a clue what you were talking about. Either way, acting was already his whole career — it might as well have been his entire damn life, and he wasn’t going to be reminded. If you weren’t a director and he wasn’t the star of your show, he didn’t need you telling him what he could and couldn’t do. His grip on you tightened.
“I didn’t do anything,” he hissed.
Outside it had begun to rain, heavy droplets melting the sleet from the windows. Steady patters the furthest thing from therapeutic in his current headspace, Vio almost missed your broken, “liar.”
Knocking his knee to white wood had the make-up brush holder tipping, contents rolling around, more noise buzzing in his head as he adjusted you. Finally, you were forced to focus on him, and Vio's eyes were unblinking, boring into yours. “You’re making baseless accusations.”
“You told me no one would love someone like me.”
“I asked you who could,” Vio bit back instantly, then, his voice softened, “...and the answer is me.”
Purple dotted into red when he let you go, wiping at your wet face. Speckled like poison in a garden of roses — what he was to you, and what you were to him. Vio thought it was fitting, beauty in that you were both to die of each other. His incurable illness. His darling disease. You shouldn’t have gotten so close to that gaffer.
“Only I can. Only I am allowed. Remember that, and love me in turn.”

Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact Ep 1-3
I love me some xanxia, so I'm jumping in. I've been PROMISED a happy ending so there had better be. Don't fuck with me cdrama!!!!
Anti-human fox spirit clan ruled by 3 terrifying women, I like them already
The scene of calculation of costs to raise a human child 😂😭
He's the descendant of a Dongfang clan who have extra special spiritual blood... as dangermousie has so eloquently argued: magical girl!! \o/
I don't really get what anyone's deal is in this drama, like why the different factions hate each other and the significance of the Grief Tree and why anyone other than the foxes care about it.... But that's standard for me with xanxia. I don't try too hard to work out the details & don't really worry about it. Xanxia is supposed to be pretty & have fantastical VIBES & I want the main couple to have a happy ending. Making plot coherent sense is a bonus, not a requirement.
Very much enjoying Gong Jun as the Extra Special™ orphan human raised among fox spirits, playing straight all the standard tropes regardless of gender. Makes everything fresh & fun.
His obvious crush on the 1,000 year old fox clan leader makes sense (anyone in his position would!). She's gorgeous, powerful, and is his benefactor. Distanced enough that she would have been perfect 'safe' crush material as a kid... But now he's all grow up
As an immortal fox, the 16 years this human child spent in their clan must have felt a blip in time. So it also makes sense she still doesn't quite understand him. It may have been the majority of his existence, but it's less than 2% of her lifespan so far. If we apply that timeframe to a human life, it's about 1 and a half days. 💁
FL sets up ML to be able to have a cathartic murder party with his parents' killers, even assigning some to stall them in a appropriately whimsical fairy manner. Crush worthy.
Him walking around all bloodsplattered later brought me back to Word of Honor.
I know he's supposed to take back over the Divine Flame Villa but I don't want him to! Stay with the foxes! (tho if this goes the traditional route, the magical girl will regain her powers & family legacy and the stern, ancient immortal love interest will soften & retire from their responsibilities to accompany their young sprite.)
All the awards to the makeup crew. Gong Jun looks the part PERFECTLY. He has this dewy look of fantasy maiden protagonist. The soft lipgloss, the bangs, the makeup softening his face! The flowing clothes. It's not too much, it feels just right. A++ 💯💯
The plaintive sad eyes ML keeps giving 👏
We already knew from Eternal Love that Yang Mi can capably play an immortal who feels distanced from mortal concerns. But this isn't a retread of Bai Qian, who was unrestrained and relished life's pleasures.
I expect that our standard love trial sidequest in the mortal world will be instead those 3 stories we saw on the trailer. If that means we can avoid amnesia & drama for the otp, sounds good to me
The white fox plotline is going to be incredibly annoying, I can tell
The big black cloud of evil lady who appears to be our Big Bad feels like another Miao Luo from Eternal Love of Dream
It's giving Belle !

Among Us animated series trailer analysis post!
(+ a theory on who dies first and who the impostor might be!)
here’s the trailer if you want to watch it yourself :)
This is going to be pretty long, whoops.
~~~~
Firstly, overall impressions on the tone/artstyle!
I mentioned a lot about the art style and everything in my first analysis post, but I just want to reiterate that it’s fun and I like it, and I like seeing how they take details of the game and translate them into the show.
From what I can tell the tone seems pretty lighthearted, well, as lighthearted as a murder mystery can be. It’s a little silly but in a charming way- but with a slight hint of dread. Kinda what I expected.
I think there’s still probably a little way to go before the show is ready considering there were no voice lines in the trailer, and it seemed more like “these are the characters look how fun they are” then actual plot/scenes, but that’s okay I actually really like that we’re not really seeing any glimpses of the plot or voice acting yet!
Anyways, now to the actual trailer!
Tumblr media
So opening shot here is The Skeld. We already kinda knew it was going to be set there, but confirmation! At the moment I don’t think the planet/moon/asteroid thing behind them is important, it’s probably just to fill up the background, but who knows, it could be something!
Maybe impostor(s) come from there or something… or maybe it’s just a rock in space.
(My theories get better I promise)
Tumblr media
With this image, we finally have an answer to my question from last time- what kind of pizza do the beans eat?
I noticed immediately that there was prosciutto and arugula (a specific kind of bitter lettuce) on the pizza, and with a little googling and a few subsequent suggested searches, I managed to find recipes for fig and prosciutto pizza with, you guessed it, arugula and cheese. (There were multiple kinds of cheese it could be- goat, gorgonzola, mozzarella to name a few)
So those round things are figs. Who would have thought?
Tumblr media
Next up we see our first glance of the additional room they added to the Skeld for the show- the kitchen! And the first glance at a depiction of an impostor!
Yellow and Brown seem like good buddies. I wonder how long that friendship will last when impostor stuff starts happening.
My guess is the depiction of the impostor here is a bit more figurative- Nobody really notices them (expect one bean, but we’ll get to that later), and they just kinda seem to be lurking around being scary. Feels more like, idk the idea of an impostor than the actual impostor? I don’t know if I’m explaining that super well.
Maybe this is like the impostor checking out the crew before they start actually impostoring. Idk.
Also, seems like one shadow (although who knows honestly). Maybe it’s a sign of there just being one among the crew? …or maybe I’ve flipped the other way and am interpreting this too literally now.
Regardless, the impostor(s) do/does certainly seem very alieny.
(Alternate impostor conspiracy theories- impostor switches between crewmates/they’re all impostors (which would kinda defeat the purpose tho) or everyone’s just paranoid and there is no impostor (I feel like people would get disappointed by that though so they wouldn’t do it)).
Tumblr media
After that we head to navigation.
Here, Red is slacking off playing video games (oddly enough with a human in them- as someone pointed out in the Innersloth discord server, which has some interesting implications. To expand on that myself, it seems like a kind of ancient-civilization human, which is interesting. I tried to figure out what game this is with a reverse image search but I couldn’t, I wonder if it’s a real game or something one of the devs made or something else.)
Anyways Red receives a call from a shadowy figure, presumably a boss of some sort, and scrambles to look like they’re doing what they’re supposed to. The image looks kinda similar to how they’re animating the impostor, but this could be an intentional red herring or just how they’re showing an unrevealed character or an “everyman” type being. Regardless, vaguely ominous.
As for navigation itself, I like the vibes honestly. I want to go there. I love the little headslug bobble head and a lot of the details in the background. Can’t assign everything there directly to a task, but it does have the three consoles and the chair. Also I noticed the bright yellow sticky note- like the “dum” visor cosmetic! I wonder what those papers on the floor say.
Tumblr media
Next we’re in the cafeteria. (You can tell by the coloring of the wall, this is probably the vent near weapons)
A couple things I noticed here!
First of all, everyone’s very nonchalant about Lime venting. That seems to mean it’s established that Lime is an engineer like the role in the game (honestly I’m a little surprised a new role was included here!) and that the crew knows this and doesn’t think Lime traveling though vents is a big deal. Will this extend to other crewmembers? Will this put suspicion on Lime as things progress? Who knows!
Also, small thing here, but Cyan signs Orange’s waiver (on the clipboard they seem to carry with them everywhere) simply as “Cyan”. I assumed they would just be going by colors the whole time and not have names or anything, but this kinda confirms that.
(By extension, maybe colors aren’t even codenames or anything for them lore-wise, maybe their names are literally their colors. Also makes me think there may be just one of each color in the entire series if they sign simply as a color. Then again, here I am over analyzing small details again.)
Tumblr media
We follow Lime through a vent and into the reactor, which is being watched on the cameras by Purple.
I don’t have a ton to say about Purple, they just seem to be doing their job here. I do find it interesting that the shadow blocks out the reactor camera and then makes it malfunction (is something going to happen in there?) but it may just be a kind of moving the trailer forward type thing.
Also, side note, what’s Lime’s deal with the reactor? They run up to it and snuggle it with hearts floating above them. Engineer really loves their engine I guess haha. I know people have to have already been meming this.
Tumblr media
Next is a scene in the medbay.
They do seem to have the medical scanner in the background there, so I wonder if that visual task will ever come into play.
Also I see the MIRA logo on a poster in the background, so my guess is they are somehow under/related to the MIRA corporation.
Green is blushing as Blue checks their reflexes. I remember Blue’s character being described as very attractive, so it could be possible that everyone gets that way around them, or it could just be Green. Idk I’m not here to navigate the minefield that is shipping beans.
White is busy swirling around wine(?) until of course, the impostor shadow thing creeps in as with all the other scenes.
This time, however, someone notices. White.
Tumblr media
My guess is White is going to die, and they’re going to die pretty early on.
I was already kinda suspecting White was going to die first simply because of how their character is described. Rich, here because they won some kind of contest, seems to be a bit of a jerk. Feels like the kind of person who would die first idk, just a vibe I’ve had for a while.
Also, I was thinking that 11 is kind of an interesting number, especially considering there were 12 original colors. (Side note, my guess is they’re waiting to include Pink alongside Coral and Rose as “the pinks” or something if they add the new colors in a later season). I feel like maybe they wanted a main crew of ten (because that is what the original lobby size is and thus what a lot of people associate with the game), but needed someone to die early to set up the plot so they needed up with 11.
Now, White being the first and only one to notice the shadow creeping around, and to immediately look terrified and be overtaken by it on screen? My guess is they’re the first to go.
One could also argue that this is an indication of them being an impostor, but idk that feels too obvious of a way to reveal that. (Also I have a different theory as to who it could be). My guess is we won’t know who the impostor is as the audience for a while.
Tumblr media
Finally we have this image. I have quite a bit to say about this one!
First of all, I just love this image in general. Makes me so happy to see all the beans!
Anyways, the impostor shadow thing comes in and covers the “not” in “we’re not dead” and I love that I think that’s fun. Also, again, love the falling apart blinds (why are there blinds on a spaceship?) and the balloons duct taped to the window.
We also see them eating the aforementioned fig and prosciutto pizza. There are also a lot of red spheres on the table, which I haven’t quite figured out yet. Fruits of some kind? Or decorations perhaps? Maybe all red gumballs? Whatever they are, Orange is holding one. There’s bologna or summer sausage or something near Brown, and a gray disk in front of it. Not sure about that either, looks kinda like a giant coin, or one of those round lights you tap to turn on and off. Red’s reading what seems to be a rule book (they really don’t seem prepared aha), and there’s also an image of a crewmate on the other side. I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be Pink or Tan.
Blue has a piece of paper with a skull on it which looks pretty ominous, and Brown is holding a knife, but I think those are just red herrings related to their professions. Blue’s a doctor and Brown’s a chef, and Yellow is also holding a cooking implement.
Also, once again, no sign of an emergency meeting button. (Unless the weird gray circle is related somehow?)
With that I was almost ready to wrap up the analysis…
but then I noticed something.
Idk if it’s just me but this image is giving the vibe of the Leonardo Da Vinci painting The Last Supper. I don’t know where my mind pulled this from, but I just kinda looked at it was like… wait this looks familiar. At first I thought it was just my brain making connections, but when you look at the two images right beside each other, it seems like a pretty deliberate parallel.
Tumblr media
If it is intentional… Orange is in almost the exact same position that Judas (the betrayer) was in in the painting.
Just saying ¯\_()_/¯
Maybe the red gumball thing made them an impostor /s
Also, just spitballing here, not really part of the theory, if Orange is working against the crew (either as an impostor or an accomplice), and they’re apparently affiliated with HR… what kind of implications could this have for the lore as a whole? Red’s probably just talking to their boss or something, but it feels ominous- what if MIRA (assuming that’s who’s in charge here) is in on the whole impostor thing?
But again, this is also kind of obvious of a hint, so I’m slightly skeptical of it.
Anyways, lots to think about with this, as you can tell I’m pretty excited.
Note
as hcs, what are suspect r’s reactions to f!chief’s fashion? if possible, could you also include the upcoming cny event’s attire (f!chief looks so handsome, 10/10 cutie pie <3)?? no worries if not, i’m technically at ch11, and chief already has like five skins (tho rip me i’m at medium bfl + f2p only :/)
follow up on r’s reactions to chief (not sure if i could ask both together so i split it just in case <3): as hcs, what would f!chief’s thoughts be about her Wife’s- i mean suspect r’s attires? i know she technically already saw her in the prologue (and later in the iconic wet dream- i mean her surprise appearance in ch6) but lmao she just woke up, groggy and totally clueless and first thing she sees is a half revealed chest? and what about the dress and cute hat r wears in the trailer and the crimebrand? also do NOT ask me how long i stared at creation i’m gobbling up every suspect r crumb (oh ho ho hooo i spy expensive gloves and an even more expensive purse looks like a certain suspect is super rich but what peek? what experiment?? (ok that one is probably connected to paradeisos) whAT SECRET??? WHAT PROMISE???????) ALSO i’m sorry for rambling a bit more but before r woke her wife- i mean f!chief did r seriously change her dress to a shirt and unbuttoned the top five buttons and rolled up her sleeves and made sure her skirt shows her fine booty perfectly even if chief can’t even see or feel it fhsadhakjdhakj truly no one does it like suspect r pls never change ma’am
Hi anon! The deluge of Suspect R asks startled the shit out of me but it's okay because I love her. I decided to combine these two requests because otherwise the one about Chief reacting to Suspect R's fashion would've been reaaaaally short. I hope that we see more of Suspect R in act two of the story, I'm begging for crumbs... It's been over an in-game year since we saw her! And I'm pretty sure it's also been around that much time irl too. Aisno is edging us. I need to know what she knows about us! She acts way too much like our ex-wife! Clearly she knows us and she speaks of us fondly, who were we to her?!
Suspect R and F!Chief reacting to each other's fashion
The Bureau uniform is what Suspect R is used to, of course. She doesn't think much of it, beyond what she thinks of Chief herself: that she's absolutely stunning no matter what she wears. R longs to run her fingers through Chief's hair… and of course, she would've gotten Chief some clothes more to her taste if she'd managed to scoop her up and whisk her away. She also finds the jacket cute – and she has no room to talk about wearing your jacket properly. She thinks it's a way in which they match, which she likes.
The Stalker attire just adds a hood and cloak, but R thinks Chief wears it extremely well. If she could, she'd love to tease about how she looks like a “true Syndican” now.
R is more enamored by the story behind the Passage of Time attire than the outfit itself. She thinks the colors and patterns look nice on the Chief, but what truly makes it shine to her is Chief's interactions with OwO. She also thinks the braid looks very nice. Overall, it's a bit of a different look to what she's used to from the Chief, but she likes it anyway.
She thinks the Traveler attire is adorable. She honestly can't pick a favorite part about it because her eyes are too busy roaming everywhere, though she definitely appreciates the good view of Chief's legs. This is a strong competitor for her favorite outfit, because she thinks it brings out Chief's heroic spirit and kind heart by the vibes of it, which is by far her favorite aspect of the Chief.
Her reaction to Nightfall Soiree can be summarized as “lol cute.” She prefers seeing Chief in blue – not that she's biased or anything – but she admits the red is a good look on Chief. It's bolder than what is standard for the Chief, and she thinks her fluffy curls look adorable. It's an easy contender for her top three.
Her thoughts on the upcoming attire is that she wants to pull on Chief's ponyta– ahem. She's a big fan of the subtle touches of red against the black and white. While her bias is definitely Chief in dresses, she's a big fan of looks like these as well – she prefers it to Passage of Time, as far as celebrating the Chinese New Year goes. Once again, she feels like this outfit brings out her beloved Chief's heroic spirit.
As for Chief…
When you awaken with amnesia, you don't expect your first sight to be… anything at all, really. But if Chief did have expectations, Suspect R and her appearance would've been low on the list.
It actually took a moment for Chief to take note of R's fashion, held spellbound by the striking glow of her eyes – but when she did tear her gaze away, her heart did a flip in her chest and she had to swallow as her mouth suddenly felt drier than a desert.
R was stunning, simply stunning. Her blonde hair cascading over perfect shoulders, slender fingers tracing over Chief's cheek, breath hot on her face…
Oh, and it didn't help that her top, uh… left little to the imagination. A physical one was not the only awakening Chief went through in that moment; if Nightingale hadn't showed up, Suspect R would've probably succeeded in whisking her away.
When Chief finally gets to see R's alternate outfit, she'll be stunned as always. It's not something she'd ever imagine R wearing, but she can't deny that R looks amazing – and white has always been a good color on her.
Still, Chief prefers Rebecca's more casual outfit – if you can call it that. Her fancier outfit feels like it loses some of R's spirit, the spark that draws Chief to her in the first place – making her look like any other rich Eastside (or Paradeisos…?) lady.
We got a trailer lads!
youtube
I have many thoughts but overall, positively excited by this
Roger's Intro thats a win in my book
The mutiny joke was actually funny to me so thats promising
Kudos to keeping true to the source material (ex: Luffy in the Barrell, the jolly roger, etc)
Really happy to see Kuro and Merry from the Syrup Village Arc (i feared it was gonna get cropped out)
BUGGY - the actor gave it all, another win
SANJI - Taz really captured him, the way he moves and smiles, he really has a Sanji presence imo
THAT SAID i was not expecting Sanji to have a brithish accent
Also the few kicks we get to see...dont look the best
The sets and costumes are amazing tho, still get blown away by every new peak we get
Zoro's fight scenes look cool :3
The cgi not to good but not too bad either (my bar was really low tho so dont come at me)
Those shots of the whole crew in a line up give me chills its so cool
MIHAWK - im running up my walls over this guy omfg i love him
KOBY - its ridiculous how much they nail this kid, he looks like an ai made a irl vertion of the anime charecter wtf
ARLONG PARK ZORO'S SHIRT BRAINROT (you know its one of my fav looks for my boy so i am very happy)
Im not saying this adaptation is perfect but i think i has potential. Hopefully it will be good enough to overlook its flaws or lacking, which im sure there will be, but i really hope the end result is good, i really want it to be good
Sure, it wont be perfect but at least you can tell the people that made this show CARED and that is a plus
This Week in BL - A New Entry My Top 10 BLs of All Time
March 2023 Wk 4
Tumblr media
Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.
Ongoing Series - Thai
Bed Friend (Sat YT, GaGa & iQIYI uncut) ep 7 of 10 - the plot remains much the same and I am getting very concerned they extended this one as it’s starting to flag. Might have been my first high heat 10/10 candidate if they had kept it at 8 eps. Bummer. I mean it’s still good and I’m still enjoying it, but... character development is a thing.
Future (Thai Sun YouTube & Gaga) ep 2 of 5 - Drunken gathering is such a hallmark of this franchise. Tiny bit of James flirting! (He’s my fav character ever since Love Mechanics original and the punch). Fuse is right to be worried about getting drunk bc he wants to be able to take care of Ana. I love the actor who plays Top (the ex). I’ve said it before (Remember Me) I really want him to get his own series. Also adventures in translation, Top did not say “I can’t believe you’re dating this man”, he said “I can’t believe you’re dating this kid/child”. These two are the ULTIMATE over dramatic college gays. Their relationship has NO drama but they will make it anyway.
Pastsenger (Thai Weds Gaga) 4 of 12 eps - I like it more and more each new ep. The leads are developing a fun playful relationship. It’s a bit slapstick for me but it’s not offensive or boring.
A Boss and a Babe (Fri YouTube) ep 5 of 12 - I don’t know. I’m just finding this one kind of boring now. Although, it looks like we are getting cute boyfriends next week so that might be nice.
Tin Tam Jai (Tues Gaga & iQIYI) ep 6 of 12 - Side couple advanced into lap sitting and tongue kisses out of nowhere. Good tongue kissing, even if surprising. Higher heat! Yay! They’re a great pair, but would it kill Thailand to give us character development with our high heat?
Chains of Heart (Sat iQIYI) ep 7 of 10 - the confusing whateverness of waisted chemistry continues to confuse.
The Promise (Thai Weds YT) ep 5 of 10 - I don’t know what’s going on with this show. That’s it? He just fell in love with bestie and then punished bestie for his own feelings? Seriously? WTF. ON HIATUS UNTIL APRIL 19.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
Our Dating Sim (Korea Thurs Viki) eps 7-8fin - Absolutely wonderful. There is a time laps but it’s the good kind - NO SEPARATION. Couple of moments when I doubted they could pull it off. But CONGRATZ! We have a new entry into the very rare 10/10 club. I have go change all my best of lists but this was worth it. Final thoughts below.
Unintentional Love Story (Korea Thurs iQIYI) 5-6 of 10 - (here’s how I’m getting it) KBL rarely gives quality sides dishes but these two are legend. Poor tattooed player hottie is always getting punched. Don’t get me wrong the leads are great too. It’s fun to watch two sets of bisexual identity crisis being handled entirely differently because of good characterization. I say “ouch” a lot while watching this show. Also “awwwww.” I do worry their cafe has no customers tho.
The Eighth Sense (Korea Weds Viki) eps 1-2 of 10 - With 10 episodes of about 40 minutes each this has got to be one of the longest BLs Korea has ever given us. However from tone, filming style, opening credits, and trailer I am guessing this could be sad. If its KBL doing JBL style then we are in His the series territory, but it could be more in the Blueming vein. I’d give it 50/50 odds. There’s always a chance it wants to be “taken seriously” which is the death knell of BL. Also if a lead smokes it means that one or both will cheat. (I don’t make the rules, the Japanese yaoi gods do.) OK, but do I like it? Yes, actually, it’s... interesting. It’s got a bit of an age gap, country boy/city boy, the acting is great, characters complex, good chemistry and tension. It’s a bit chewy and sticky and less perfect than most KBL (do I detect a touch of Taiwan?). This one is deploying BL tropes (messy eater, shoulder sleep, protective seme, there’s even some hyung-slinging) but it isn’t in the KBL bubble, there’s sharp edges, we may get a coming out sequence or even a bashing. It certainly will stay interesting. But proceed with caution.
A Shoulder to Cry On (Korea Tues Viki & Gaga) eps 5-7fin - What both these kids need is a little affection and a lot of therapy, not romance. The punishment for flirting in class thing was funny. They are such boyfriends by ep 5 - Sitting together, sharing a glass etc…Terrible awful grueling confession rejection. 2 year time gap. Much needed in this case. Then another 2 before the epilogue. Honestly, the most unlikely thing about this show (after the casting) was the prospect of an out gay Korean cop. No kisses for us. Narrative indicated that there should have been at least a fish kiss, but not happening with them in the same Kpop group. I’m starting to think I really just prefer KBLs where they use actors and not idols (Semantic Error excepted, of course). I’m assuming the next 2 eps are bts. Final thoughts below.
It’s Airing But ...
Love Syndrome (Thai Sat WeTV) stopped at ep 2 of 12 - I’m just not into any aspect of it (except Lee Long Shi and I can watch him in Tin Tem Jai - see above pic, awesome side dish action) - saving to binge if the end is solid.
Venus in the Sky (Sat YouTube) pilot/tester?) 0 of 10 - not entirely sure what’s up with this one distribution-wise, but the pilot was cute, classic university-set pulp. I hope it happens because the leads are cute with good chemsitry and I thought it was fun. However, it totally holds together as it’s own little short story too.
Cafe In Love (Thai ???) 10 eps on Ch3+ - Thai pulp, about trying to save a coffee shop. FairyGodBLer came through for me, but I’m collecting to binge just in case. It’s my new policy with the grey stuff.
Destiny Seeker (Tues WeTV Thailand) 10 eps - it’s not on any WeTV I can get ahold of. Bad Buddy the pulp rebirth meets Japanese handsome host club action. Same as above.
Make a Wish (Thai Weds ?) from WaGa Creative staring Fluke Natouch (OhmFluke UWMA etc...) & Judo (The Miracle Of Teddy Bear) in a medical-fantasy. It seems to be a light-hearted romance with a comedic flair. About a doctor who sees ghosts and a deity who resides in a Bodhi tree that earns merits whenever he fulfills a wish based on a y-novel by Sammon (Manner of Death, Triage). Too hard to find.
Finished this week
Our Dating Sim (Korea Viki) I enjoyed every aspect from the casting to the very simple premise to the quietly smooth execution. Sure it’s very low stakes, but that makes it high domesticity and extremely warm and gentle. This is a fuzzy blanket of a story. Do we call this cozy BL? Why not? This one is going to live in my rewatch pile, I can tell already, and you know what’s best about it? Every single episode is in that pile. There’s no skipping with this one, it might be good natured and calmly sweet but it’s tight and the pacing is excellent. It perfectly suited KBL’s short-length tendencies. Full review. 10/10 I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOW HIGHLY ENOUGH
A Shoulder to Cry On (Korea Viki & Gaga) - Adaptation of a manwha, high school set bully romance, staring Jaehan & Yechan BOTH from Kpop group OMEGA X, so no kissing. All in all this was a painfully awkward watch for me, and while beautiful and decently acted, the story and characters rendered it ultimately disappointing. I think we shouldn’t let Korea do bully romance. 4/10 FATALLY FLAWED
Jack O’Frost It was fine. I never really cared about the characters or their relationship. Not to slag off the acting (which was superb) but the narrative bored me. 5/10 WATCH ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO
In Case You Missed it
Ai Long Nhai got a special ep on iQIYI.
Eternal Yesterday is getting a movie version with additional content if you want extra suffering.
A few things have been announced but mostly Thai, Japanese, and 2 (yes, 2) Chinese Omegaverse (Desire and Couple or Not). It’s doubtful these will pass censorship, so I’m not gonna bother tracking until they actually get international distribution. For Thailand, I’m excited about Waterboyy 3, which NOT a remake (hally-fucking-luya) but a new installment, and stars KaownahTurbo (Love Stage!!! et al). Although why the fuck they don’t put Est Supha (swim champ) into one of these is a mystery to me. For Japan, they’ll start airing sooner rather than later, so expect me to start tracking those.
Next Week Looks Like This:
04.06 Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku (Japan Gaga) - I AM SO EXCITED I LOVE THE MANGA
04.07 My Beautiful Man Eternal (Japan ????) - 3rd installment, movie which means it’ll be a pain to get hold of.
Tumblr media
No proper post for April but remaining releases are:
04.14 Naked Dinner AKA Zenra Meshi (Japan Gaga) - not really my thing but yes I’ll watch it
04.15 My Story (Pinoy YouTube) - not my fandom but I will give it a go
04.18 Step By Step (Thai WeTV) - office age gap, I am all in! Even though it’s WeTV. Sigh.
April is looking a bit slender so I might start watching Destiny Seeker or Cafe in Love, or both.
2023 forthcoming BL master post (see comments, some are inaccurate, NOT KEPT UPDATED)
Adventures in Captions
Tumblr media
Ai Long Nhai special both reviewing its own plot and having fun with English.
THIS WEEK’S BEST MOMENTS
Matt Damon's interview w/ The Hollywood Reporter (30 September 2015)
‘The Martian’s’ Matt Damon Talks ‘Bourne’ Return, Politics and PC Flubs: “Oh My God, I Look Like an Asshole”
The A-list everyman, and star of Ridley Scott's stranded-in-space drama, talks with THR about acting on the red planet, his friendship with "misunderstood" Ben Affleck, thoughts on Trump, and the time Ben Carson performed surgery on him and Greg Kinnear.
By Stephen Galloway
-
I’m in a plane, banking steeply, near the end of a 22-hour journey. Under normal circumstances, I’d barely have the strength to look out the window. But as the Boeing 737 tilts at a hair-raising angle, I glance down. An island is coming into view, dominated by a massive volcano that rises 12,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, crowned by a sea of clouds (or “a sea of clowns,” as my Spanish driver puts it later).
This is Mount Teide, at the very heart of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands just off the coast of Morocco, unknown to most Americans but as familiar to Europeans as Baja is to Californians. It’s a favorite of filmmakers such as the production team that’s now here shooting the latest, untitled installment of the Bourne franchise. The volcano towers over the land, its black-sand beaches and warren of “calles” (or streets) substituting for Greece in the picture. (Despite that nation’s economic woes, filming is cheaper in this Spanish provence). I’m told the volcano has been dormant for more than a century. But isn’t a dormant volcano the movie equivalent of Chekhov’s rifle, just destined to go off?
The fifth Bourne is shrouded in secrecy. Nobody is allowed on the set, including this reporter, and when I’m taken to see its star, Matt Damon — who seems poised for a major career boost with this and Fox’s much-anticipated space drama The Martian — two days after my arrival in mid-September, it’s under the veil of night. Still, the film’s presence can be felt everywhere: in the trucks stacked end-to-end at the edge of a small park in the heart of the city of Santa Cruz; in the tramline with a stop that’s been shut down for days and won’t open until the production departs for London a week hence; and in the collection of trailers at the picture’s base camp, reminiscent of the circled wagons that formed a line of defense against Indians in old Westerns — the “Indian,” in this case, being me.
It’s been nine years since Damon, 44, last tackled the role of Jason Bourne — and eight years since The Bourne Ultimatum was released — almost as long as he’s been married and a father of four kids (ages 4 to 17), during which he has gone from being a young action upstart to an industry veteran shouldering all the responsibilities of fame, family and middle age. But he retains the enthusiasm he once had for the part.
“I love this character,” he says. “He’s so smart and resourceful and easy to root for. I always wanted to play him again.”
Bourne won’t be out until next summer, and between now and then, Damon’s status as one of Hollywood’s few bankable stars, commanding as much as $20 million per picture, will be put to the test. He has had hits (three Bournes, three Oceans) and misses (We Bought a Zoo, Promised Land), and he admits the prospects of Bourne — and, more imminently, the Oct. 2 release The Martian, which THR‘s Todd McCarthy called “constantly absorbing” — weigh heavily on him.
“I’m not angst-free,” he says. “I mean, look, I’ve got a lot riding on this movie.”
Sitting in his trailer at 1 a.m., as we chat during his “lunch break” in the middle of a night shoot, Damon is hyper-alert, much more so than this jet-lagged reporter. After years of having his weight fluctuate between films, he looks buff in jeans and a tight, collarless shirt — though he claims to be nowhere near as fit as the astronauts he met while researching Martian.
He also seems older and more mature than the boyish figure who has been a familiar presence onscreen since the late 1990s; only traces linger of the perky young man who won an Oscar for co-writing (and starring in) Good Will Hunting in 1998. There’s a gravitas to him, beyond even Bourne‘s. His emotions rarely slip out; whatever passions once rocked him are buried in the past.
He’s also more thoughtful, and far more cerebral, than his regular-guy image might lead one to believe. The intellect he inherited from his university professor mother and onetime stockbroker father seeps through — it’s there in everything from his articulateness when he speaks about clean water (his most prominent cause) to his taste in books. He has just finished Passage of Power, the fourth part in Robert Caro‘s ongoing biography of Lyndon B. Johnson.
“[Bourne director] Paul Greengrass sent it to me a year or two ago and said it was his book of the year,” he says. “I came across it on the shelf and I’d forgotten about it. I looked at [its size], and I went, ‘No way.’ But I read it in a couple of days. I could not put it down. It’s such a comprehensive picture. I walked away thinking, ‘This guy is so f—ing complicated.’ And of course, we all are. We all are.”
He looks at me directly, almost as if challenging me to draw the inevitable conclusion about him. He has a striking mixture of intensity and ease, of emotions held back and wry humor. He hints at moments of loneliness (“lonely in a sense of, you know, you have to make a huge effort to see friends”) and restlessness (“We might move back to New York”) without revealing more. I wonder whether he’s always this contained or whether, like that volcano — dormant, but not extinct — his emotions might one day erupt.
“I had a terrible temper,” he acknowledges of his youth. “I mean, like, a problematic temper. I still get riled up and competitive.”
That’s one of several hints he gives of deeper currents, as is his account of undergoing hypnosis to give up a two-pack-a-day smoking habit just a few years ago. “It wasn’t nerves,” he says. “I think I’m just an addictive kind of person, and I got addicted to cigarettes. I smoked like crazy. Now it seems totally insane.”
Few things ruffle him — not my probing about this, nor the recent kerfuffle over remarks he made on a recent episode of Project Greenlight, the HBO reality series he executive produces with Ben Affleck, when he appeared to question the importance of diversity while speaking to an African-American.
“There was some context taken out,” he insists. Although he saw a near-final cut, he did not see a later, trimmed version. When he did, “I went, ‘Oh my God, I look like an asshole.’ I thought it was a really insensitive thing to say.” Later, he issued a mea culpa. (He was less apologetic during his Sept. 28 appearance on Ellen DeGeneres‘ show, where he addressed a second, more recent kerfuffle over an interview with The Guardian in which Damon seemed to suggest that gay actors should remain closeted. “I was just trying to say actors are more effective when they’re a mystery,” he explained. “And somebody picked it up and said I said gay actors should get back in the closet. Which is like, I mean, it’s stupid, but it is painful when things get said that you don’t believe.”)
The remarks were unexpected, coming from one of Hollywood’s most outspoken liberals, whose support for candidates such as Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren carries weight among his politically minded colleagues.
He doesn’t hide his disdain for Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson‘s remark that no Muslim should be commander in chief. “What he said is horrible and offensive and also just not true,” he says. “It’s literally written into the Constitution that your religion won’t bar you from any office, you know? So it’s not only horrible and offensive, but also wrong.”
He’s more familiar with Carson than most. “I met Ben Carson 22 years ago,” he recalls. “He gave the convocation speech for Columbia Med School, where my girlfriend at the time was going, and he gave a beautiful speech about who he was and where he came from. And then, because Carson had done the first successful separation of conjoined twins, when I did the movie Stuck on You, there’s a scene where Greg Kinnear and I are separated. Ben Carson plays the surgeon. We shot with him for the entire day. He could not have been lovelier. [But] I can’t believe some of the things that he says.”
Damon does not know Carson’s competitor, Donald Trump. “I’ve never met him,” he continues. “But when people are talking about putting a wall up, I just can’t take them seriously. I can’t. It seems so un-American. We have people running for the highest elected office talking about putting a wall up that would keep my wife and her family out of the country, you know?” (His wife of 10 years, Luciana Barroso, is an Argentine native and naturalized American.)
He says he supports Hillary Clinton on the Democratic side: “I love Elizabeth Warren, but she’s not running for president.” He also likes Joseph Biden and Bernie Sanders and wavers when pressed to choose among them, before coming down for Clinton. “I’m supporting Hillary,” he affirms, noting she’s the only candidate to whom he has given money this go-around.
Damon once was a vocal critic of President Obama for straying from a liberal agenda. But he now says that Obama’s moves since the last congressional election have restored his faith. He went to the White House late last year to screen The Monuments Men (along with co-stars George Clooney and Bill Murray) and found himself seated next to the first lady. Later, Damon spoke to Obama about what the actor had said.
“We talked about it, and look, even when I was giving him shit, he’s somebody who thinks so deeply about everything he does,” he says. “I don’t ever question that it’s coming from the right place with him. He’s a remarkable human being and shockingly easy to be around. He’s incredibly approachable and doesn’t beat you up with his station, though he could.”
In Hollywood, Damon has long been linked to Ben Affleck, his best friend since childhood. They remain close, running a production company together and — since Damon moved from New York in 2013 — even living on the same street in Pacific Palisades in L.A. Both have managed the rare, if not extraordinary, feat of remaining superstars.
It’s impossible not to be intrigued by the apparent opposites that Damon and Affleck represent, one as seemingly held back as the other is emotionally flamboyant — as if one is the other’s id unleashed and spinning out of control. But Damon rejects that impression.
“There’s nobody who’s more misunderstood,” he says of Affleck. “Ten years ago, the public image of him could not have been farther apart from who he actually is. It was like he was being cast in a role, that he was a talentless kind of meathead, with his whole relationship with Jennifer Lopez. He just got cast as this person that he wasn’t. It was just really painful. It was painful to be his friend, because it wasn’t fair, you know? To my mind, nobody really got him at all. And through his work, he climbed from the bottom of the mountain all the way back up to the top and past where either of us had ever been.”
If Affleck’s latest tabloid travails — for allegedly cheating on his wife, Jennifer Garner, with their nanny — trouble Damon, he doesn’t let on. Their friends, speaking on background, insist Matt and Ben are more similar than different.
“In the marketplace, everything gets exaggerated,” says their agent, WME’s Patrick Whitesell. “These guys are both super interested in doing a range of things — Matt’s diversity as an actor and Ben going down the road of writing, acting and directing. They’re all things that come from an artistic place, and they love the challenge of it. That spark is where they are very similar. And on a philanthropic level, they’re both very, very committed.”
In addition to his water concerns, Damon has been involved with his close friend Don Cheadle on Not on Our Watch, which supports those displaced by mass atrocities, and the ONE Campaign, which fights AIDS and poverty in developing nations. Affleck has given extensive support to the Eastern Congo Initiative, helping those affected by the conflict there.
The friends came close to reteaming on a biopic about Boston criminal Whitey Bulger, but they got beaten to the punch by Johnny Depp‘s Bulger film Black Mass.
“We had a very different take on it,” says Damon, noting he has not yet seen the Depp movie, though he has read the book by Dick Lehr and Gerard K. O’Neill on which it is based. Explaining the difference between the projects, he cites a letter he received from a South Boston author. “It was a really moving letter that basically said: ‘Don’t glorify this man any more. Please stop.’ And this is to take nothing away from Black Mass. I hear the movie’s great. But Ben and I agreed with the guy who’d written us. And so we came up with this idea of doing it more like an anti-gangster movie. Make it look like what it was: something grotesque.”
He and Affleck are developing other movies together through their Pearl Street Films, including a Robert F. Kennedy biopic (with Damon playing RFK and A Royal Affair‘s Nikolaj Arcel writing and directing), though no start date has been set. “It’s a wonderful script,” he says, acknowledging that he’s more focused on his next movie, Alexander Payne‘s Downsizing, which starts shooting early next year.
As to the actor’s long-held plans to direct, they’re some time from happening, especially while he is back at the peak of his acting career with Martian and the new Bourne. “I have to find the time,” he says. “I have to find the right project that’s going to fit with my life.”
The Bourne franchise has had its own strange odyssey, and it could have ended for Damon after Ultimatum, the third movie in the series. In Damon’s view, writer Tony Gilroy‘s script for a third was unfilmable. “It’s really the studio’s fault for putting themselves in that position,” he told GQ magazine. “I don’t blame Tony for taking a boatload of money and handing in what he handed in. It’s just that it was unreadable.” (Gilroy declined to comment.)
Damon and Greengrass decided not to embark on a fourth Bourne, leaving Universal to switch stars and create a spinoff featuring Jeremy Renner. The result, 2012’s The Bourne Legacy, grossed a disappointing $276 million worldwide (compared with Ultimatum‘s $443 million) and failed to anoint Renner a new action star. (Universal and producer Frank Marshall have vowed a follow-up with Renner.)
“I always tied myself to Paul,” says Damon. “I always said, if he came back, I would love to come back. And we would talk about it periodically. But we just didn’t have a story to tell. We just didn’t have anything. And the studio was under pressure because they have a deal with the estate: They have to make a Bourne movie or they [lose the rights]. I don’t know what the deal is, but I know that any time there’s a franchise that’s this successful, there’s a lot of pressure.”
He says any conflict is “water under the bridge” and notes that “Tony wrote The Great Wall,” the Zhang Yimou movie that Damon just wrapped in China. Still, he acknowledges, “I did not see [Gilroy] in China.”
In Tenerife, the production team is an ocean removed from those troubles, and crewmembers wander around the hotel where I’m staying exuding a certain joie de vivre. Greengrass, his untamed gray hair flying in all directions, putters cheerfully around the pool, as if happy to be back on the series he took over from Doug Liman.
Damon has no idea whether audiences will be hungry for more. “I don’t want to take that for granted,” he says.
Has he signed on for a sixth in the series? “No. I always just did one at a time. Even on the first one, they suggested me signing up for three, [but] I didn’t know if I was going to like making action movies. I didn’t ever want to be in a situation where I was roped to something and I couldn’t get away.”
More than material, Damon maintains it’s the director who draws him to projects. With The Martian — about an astronaut forced to get by on his wits after being stranded on Mars — that initially was Drew Goddard, who also wrote the script. Then Goddard left to direct Marvel’s yet-to-be-made Sinister Six.
At that point, “It didn’t have a director, so I thought it would go away,” says Damon. “And then I got a phone call from Patrick, who said, ‘Ridley Scott really wants to do this movie.’ ” Damon raced over to his office. “And he just goes, ‘This script is f—ing great!’ And I said, ‘Yeah. Why aren’t we making this movie?’ And he went, ‘I don’t know.’ And that was it.”
Scott remembers the humor Damon displayed in that meeting and how easygoing he was, qualities he valued during the intense shoots. “He is the most polite, nicest guy I’ve ever worked with,” says the filmmaker. “There’s no star attitude; there’s no attitude at all, which is really refreshing and nice. But, underneath it, he’s very sophisticated in his awareness of what he’s doing.”
Early on, the two discussed Damon’s upcoming picture, Interstellar, and whether similarities between the films posed a problem. That movie was the only one Damon had made in 18 months — just a week’s work, interrupting his first prolonged hiatus since he started as an actor, triggered by his move to L.A.
“I said: ‘You know, I really want to do this with you, but I just did a cameo in Chris Nolan‘s movie. Very, very different, but it’s about a guy stranded by himself on a planet,’ ” says Damon. “It might be weird to follow that up with playing a guy stranded on …’ And Ridley said, ‘It’s not going to matter. One year in between the films, that’s a lifetime now.’ “
The $108 million Martian was a risky proposition, given that Damon would have to perform solo through much of the movie, with just a greenscreen.
“We shot about seven weeks in Budapest, and then four weeks in Jordan,” he says, noting the strange, almost otherworldly landscape of Jordan’s sandstone-and-granite valley, Wadi Rum. “It was all greenscreen [in Budapest]. It was a massive greenscreen, and they put the Hab there, the Habitat I’m living in. They put that in the middle, and then everything around was soundstage. Then we had a second Habitat in Wadi Rum, and I’d walk out of the Hab, and I’d be in Wadi Rum.”
One of the major challenges he faced was imbuing the movie’s comedy with an underlying sense of fear. “We had a big conversation about the concept of dread,” he recalls, noting that he and Scott spent several days going over the script line by line, discussing each emotional beat, before they filmed. “Because the movie’s light and funny, we talked about: How do you keep all that? How do you infuse it with this [humor] without losing the stakes?”
During the shoot, he observed Scott with interest, recognizing the director’s stamp on each frame. A former artist, Scott graduated with First Class Honors from London’s Royal College of Art, along with David Hockney.
“There was a shot late in filming, where I was sitting in the MAV, the Mars Ascent Vehicle, getting ready to be launched,” Damon remembers. “And I went to watch the playback with him, and it was really just the top of my shoulder and this helmet and a little piece of my face. But it was unquestionably a Ridley Scott shot. I said, ‘Why do I know that’s a Ridley Scott shot? What is that?’ And he puzzled over it for a second. He said, ‘You know, when I’m setting up that shot, all I’m thinking is, I want to make this as simple and truthful and honest as I can.’ “
It is a testament to Damon’s strong character, or possibly his acting skills, that he can accept slices of marinated dorade from the private chef who serves us in his trailer and still appear wholly uninterested in luxury.
Outside movies and family, most of his energy is devoted to nonprofit work, particularly through Water.org, which he founded with Gary White and which supports clean water projects throughout the world.
He flinches at the memory of a trip to Ethiopia in 2009 when he saw a new well that had fallen into disuse. “There were these children drinking out of a hand-dug well, and they were filling up bottles full of this muddy water,” he says. “It looked like chocolate milk. It was literally brown. And they were taking it to school. And right next to this hand-dug well [was] a state- of-the-art well that an Indian NGO had put in — you know, $10,000 or $15,000. They had raised the money like wonderful people trying to do their very best, and they’d come to this village and put this state-of-the-art well in. But they hadn’t brought any spare parts, and they hadn’t taught the people in the village how to maintain the well, so, obviously, eventually the thing breaks. Then it just sits there and rusts, and people are back to the hand-dug well again, and kids are dying of completely preventable diseases once again.”
If clean water is one passion, his greatest remains his family. He will celebrate a decade of marriage this year; his wife (a former bartender whom he met while shooting in Miami) and four daughters have altered his life profoundly, he says, giving him “a big, kind of existential relief.”
“I remember thinking, in my early 30s, that I wouldn’t [get married], you know?” he reflects. “I didn’t think it was going to happen for me. My brother found his soul mate very young; he’d just turned 26 when they were married. He’d been married for 10 years by the time I even met my wife, and I looked at this really happy, wonderful marriage and kind of went, ‘I guess that’s not going to happen for me.’ And then it did.”
He refuses to be apart from his family for more than two weeks at a time; either they come to see him or he returns to Los Angeles. He is still getting used to the idea that his eldest daughter, Alexia, 17 (his wife’s from a previous marriage), will not join the rest of the family in visiting him when Bourne shifts to London in early October. “She’ll stay back with her grandmother and in school,” he says. “So that’s a big one for us. We’ve never split the family.”
He adds: “I heard once, you spend all of this time trying to protect your heart, and then you have kids, and it’s like you put it in their bodies and send them out into the world, and you can’t possibly know everything that comes with that. It’s a very, very different way to be in the world.”
For just a moment a depth of emotion surges in him. The lava comes close to bubbling up, then subsides.
Exciting times
As we enter the last leg of this race, please beware of the SPOILERPOCALYPSE.
The reason i'm not here much lately is precisely because of spoilers. I think marketing has done more than they should have, i don't need to see more of the game, i just want to play it. Now just checking my socials puts me at risk of getting major spoilers i'm trying so hard to avoid at all costs.
Yesterday the embargo on the preview event was lifted and all the people who was fortunate to be invited have been sharing their reviews, impresions and recorded gameplay. Unfortunately for those of us who wish to experience the game ourselves instead of having the first Act spoiled, not everyone uses spoiler warnings, hashtags or keywords one can mute or block while this lasts. Personally i'm mostly on twitter and there i muted +130 words for 30 days only to have a spoiler about Rook's origins in one of the factions still slip through.
I've been checking on YouTube carefully like it's a minefield -because it really is- for some of these content creators' videos, for the most part just to listen and what i've gathered so far is they were allowed about 7 hours of play, including the character creator and 5 selected missions from Act I, but there's a couple of late Act I missions they weren't allowed to record or talk much about, and they weren't allowed to show some menus, namely the accesibility menu as it seems there's official marketing coming up centered on that.
The big and main positive i can take from these recent developments is that there's a new consensus: Dragon Age The Veilguard looks good. Long gone are the days of first trailer bad impressions and Fortnite accusations, now that some people finally got to experience the game themselves the reviews are mostly positive, excited, and i've seen some content creators change their minds about the game entirely. Bioware took notes all these years and are ready to deliver an unexpectedly very polished game as a result. People at the event were told the game has 3 Acts and i've heard this from several people, if the rest of the game keeps up the rhythm from what they saw of Act I, then Bioware is back. GOTY contender. IMO BW was never "gone", they were just slowly cooking this upcoming full meal
Sure, combat may not be for everyone, a more linear experience may not be for everyone. But personal preferences aside all seems to indicate The Veilguard will deliver as promised.
Spoilers are unavoidable sometimes so i've actualy looked for some, namely the Character Creator, the different factions origin stories, the different surnames. I had to go out of my way to see these things tho, intentionally spoiling myself these details because I have as of now 12 different Rooks planned and i needed to know if the stories i made for them would conflict or not with what the game will offer. Only one origin has a detail that might restrict things a bit.
There's apparently also a scene from a mission i'm not sure they were allowed to show, i skipped through a video about it without really looking and just now saw something from it on my dashboard but i scrolled down as fast as i could because it's something i really want to see in game first. It's such a big thing, it shouldn't have been showned or leaked at all. All i'll say is it's about Solas, and something many of us wanted to see for a long time.
All this said, while we wait for October 31st to come quick we still have the podcast Vows&Vengeance each Thursday. I might write on it soon. This podcast is safe from spoilers, it's set pre-Veilguard and introduces the companions one per episode, and the original characters are apparently a V&V exclusive and won't show in game. I think this podcast series is currently the only safe marketing material available until release. Meanwhile the IGN coverage continues, full of minor spoilers sprinkled all over so i'm also avoiding all of it.
We're now 41 days away from an event we've been waiting for 10 years! The waiting has never been harder.
As promised a while ago. More of my book collection. This half is at my old bedroom at my childhood home (in the trailer park). In town visiting my family rn. Most of my books remain untouched, but it does look like my brother has been reading Defiance: Anarchist Statements Before Judge and Jury. He's on Ravachol 1892. There's even more books in the common space, but I'll flick those after I unpack. I drop stuff off every time I visit, so some books aren't as old as others. There are a few no longer in print books on this bookshelf tho, like the Ecodefense books. The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk is autographed, and Anarchist Cuba used to belong to William Van Spronsen, I got it from his daughter. In the common space there's a first edition of Max Stirners the unique and it's property. I inherited that one from a friend who was martyred while fighting ISIL. On the very bottom I have zines that date back to the mid 90's and as far back as early 80's. All my letters from Ted K are on there too. Anyways enough bookfag talk. Look at this dusty thing.
discussion #7 (only friends): mew's loneliness— isolation of mew's hidden madness (light versus dark)
mew is a very interesting character to me because he's so layered and mysterious. everyone thinks he's A when he's definitely not only A but B, C, D, etc.
i've mentioned this in my previous posts, we don't really know mew's intention and his thought process. even when top is crying while hugging him, mew doesn't shed a tear despite being the victim of top's lies.
it's so fascinating that mew has so many walls surrounding him and they don't break. people don't break him— well, probably top will— but mew isn't one to lament his sadness. instead of spiralling in despair, mew will rise and seek revenge.
this will be a very short post. i just want to emphasise mew's facial expression which i find eerie and bone-chilling (again, kudos to p'book for this excellent portrayal of mew).
is it loneliness or madness?
there's this scene in the trailer that catches my attention from the first watch. it's the scene when top says, "mew might have many friends, but he has only one boyfriend." afterwards, he takes mew away from (seemingly) ray's house (i guess he's throwing a party or something).
Tumblr media
my speculation is mew might've been the one driving. so mew will drive back to his place and top sees him off like in this bts picture;
Tumblr media
and top (adorably) waves goodbye at mew (i can't find that post to link this with... i'm sorry...)
however, i wonder if top calls boston or it's the other way around because this shirt top is wearing—
Tumblr media
—is what he wears when he meets boston.
top is sitting on the passenger's seat which somehow strengthens the idea that boston is the one seeking top that (rainy and cold) night. and the rest... well, the car broke.
however, something else catches my interest.
this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when i saw it for the first time, my heart truly shattered. he looked so lonely. mew seemed so hopeless and isolated, helplessly staring at the fishes in the aquarium, probably contemplating the promises top made or the i love you top said before they parted.
but then it hit me— mew is crazy. in a good way (?). he's downright insane that it gave me tingles (and still do).
i think there are so many ways to perceive this shot of mew. but i believe there's a reason why there's more emphasis on the light from the aquarium and the darkness of mew's room.
light (what people think of mew)
many of us collectively agree that mew is kind. in the intro post, p'book explained mew is helpful and honest. he's willing to do anything for his friends if they're in need of help.
the light that rains on half of his face indicates mew still has that in him— kindness. empathy. if nothing triggers the ugly side of him, this is what we'll get from mew— his unrelenting kindness.
dark (what we don't see)
it's ironic how the room isn't entirely black. there are tinges of dark blue— somehow parallel to the aquarium or the ocean— blue, deep and vast.
the darkness that covers the other half of mew's face signifies the monster mew hides (or he never knows of its existence until top turns his world downside up). it's blue, seemingly a positive colour. but blue can also mean passiveness and sadness.
i guess, at this point in their relationship, mew is starting to get hints of top's dishonesty. but he's still unsure because as if he's drowning, he only sees top as a saviour and not a betrayer. he can't wrap the possibilities of top cheating on him because how can top still say he loves mew even when he's seeing someone else? that doesn't make sense, yes?
additionally, it's also ironic (and heartbreaking) how this scene might be shown in between the topboston scene (or before/after). it adds so much to the depth of mew's sadness and isolation because mew might believe top is already at home or somewhere else but fucking his best friend in a damn car. i believe mew's light will fade the more top lies to him.
there's madness in those eyes that hides the surging anger so well. behind those glasses and that aloof expression, mew is somewhat already sensing the doom of his relationship with top. but he can't point fingers at top yet— not when pieces of evidence aren't enough to back him up. but this is the headstart for mew. this is when his light begins to disappear.
conclusion
mew is seriously playing with my sanity and morality because i'm team mew of all people but this guy... wow. just what on earth is going on in that pretty head of yours, mew?
i'm taking this chance to applaud p'book's acting again. he's amazing. there's so much to mew that is still yet to explore and i'm so thrilled to unravel and witness the changes mew will show throughout the series. i hope whatever the directors/scriptwriters and p'book have built up for mew won't go to waste. if mew is everything we thought he is and isn't, this will be p'book's best craft to date (but cher will always be my number one <3)
anyway, it's tomorrow.
are we ready to give only friends a try?
Rings of Power Season 2 Episode 7 Liveblog
I heard we would have less Numenor in this episode. I feel like they're already doing more characterization spots than actual plot advancement, though that may be because I already know where the plot is going so it doesn't FEEL like advancement
Maybe more Arondir tho? Pls?? I miss him
I think we may be doubling down on the implication that the nine's mithril is actually Sauron's own blood. Isn't visual storytelling fun?
The fall of Ost-in-Edhil, as promised
Poor Tyelpe...
Somebody who knows more about metalcraft tell me how he is doing all of this hilariously wrong
Hello Mr. Mouse! He looks very polite, you should let him stay
THAT'S CREEPY PUT HIS REFLECTION BACK THE WAY IT WAS ANNATAR
Tyelpe unfortunately Annatar is going to have to ask for crunch time from you to cover for his own poor scheduling ability
Always love how media siege weaponry use seems to have no other strategy than modern artillery, ie keep hitting until you obliterate the entire fucking thing
Oh now he's "saving" them from their lord's neglect. Asshole.
DISNEY'S MULAN WAS NOT A TACTICAL MANUAL JFC ROCKS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY
That's the kind of thing you accomplish with WELL PLACED DYNAMITE
Arondir! Where did you come from?
(Seriously this show has no respect for time or distance)
I do appreciate every ring having its proper gem.
Warn him, Mr. Mouse!
T_T he's trying to find reality!
Time is money, Narvi! We need to cook dig!
Yayyyyy! Narvi!
Elf? Elf?
ELROND HOW DID YOU GET HERE
Honestly if he's not also here to defy his king I'm starting to wonder why
Nope it's not my audio, the drumbeats are actually not visually in synch with the soundtrack. What the hell, guys?
Elf! Extras! With bows!
Oh no is the mouse in a time loop?
Is Sauron's reach finally exceeding his grasp?
So it's on to strategy number 2, admit that he did it but pretend like it's all fine
"This is hardly a gift" nnnggggggg
We're in trailer territory fam
Lol it's all falling apart
This is absolutely the kind of thing I would expect to see in a good Silvergifting fic, and I mean that as the highest praise. The manipulation! The betrayal!
It's the black goop!
Noooo RIP Tyelpe
Gotta say, roughed up and bleeding looks reeeeally good on Charles Edwards
Come ON Mirdania, I know he comes off a little weird but you don't trust that fucker either!
Unfortunately Tyelpe is a little too harried to remember that blood color is literally THE easiest tell to hide with illusion magic
ANNATAR WHAT THE FUCK
WHAT THE FUCK
WHAT THE FUCK
wow i'm so glad i'm watching this at 7 am
JUSTICE FOR MIRDANIA
It's threats now
Tyelpe please tell me Feanor taught you about decision theory, you CANNOT respond to threats, that just leads to more threats!
Three armies?
ELF EXTRAS
WAR ELROND
Fine, fine, show off the Orc makeup
Ignore her, Elrond, she brought this on herself
Is Adar actually magicing away the sun and making shade just for his children? They do a lot with light in this show but that was a little heavy handed
STOP TALKING ABOUT HIS BEAUTY LEAVE HIM ALONE
Invoking Melian's wisdom is a really low blow. Everything could have gone so much better if anyone ever listened to her.
Elrond knows how to hit back where it hurts! How much do these guys really matter to you, Adar
ELROND IS A MASTER NEGOTIATOR!
Ew. This is some Twilight shit. He goddamn well better have had that ring in his mouth.
Because you always go into a negotiation with confidence, Vorohil!
That helmet needs like a chin strap, but I know those aren't sexy. Letting him have the helmet on at all is a huge ask for most of Hollywood
Durin Jr is a great leader!
Do not make your horse do that wtf
More surprise sinkholes
See??? He can't steal your helmet and show us all your pretty pretty face if you had it strapped on!
Elrond that was kinda cruel, take a deep breath dude
Battle battle fight fight
Now were seeing some tactical macinery use
You are gunning for a patricide my dude
She cannot be caged!
Time for Galadriel to grow an empathy??
I'm still not sure if Galadriel speaks Black Speech. I would assume so, it's useful
Arondir! Where have you been?
So she does know how to motivate people in a positive way
Narvi!!
Unfortunately Middle-earth works on narrativium, not statistics
Someone take away Sauron's literal Christian bible, please
Always focused on the end. Analysts are gonna have a field day with this
Opening up about the torture? I HAVE READ THIS FANFIC I STG.
THAT IS NOT A COMPLAINT
Literally some DARVO shit
THROW IT INTO THE FIRE
unfortunately I think that will not work
they're not even hot
come on Tyelpe you know there's only one way out of this shackle how many times did you see the aftermath lets go LETS GO
dear movie THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
oh no the artillery just has it out for poor tyelpe
I am Appreciating Galadriel declaring Celebrimbor Lord of Eregion
I can accept replacement of escape with the Three by escape with the Nine. They set it up well enough, and the emotional thrust remains
Of course the difference is this plan is doomed
Okay but have these guys accepted that they are dumb as fuck and eminently susceptible to Sauron's manipulation?
Acceptable last words by poor Tyelpe
Rian MVP!
Damrod? Damrod??
You think a few swords can stop this guy?
See? Dumb as fuck, and very manipulable.
And now the torture, I assume
I never know what language these elves are going to be speaking when they open their mouths, it's great
Killing a hill troll is a group effort
War Gil-galad??
Glug is looking more and more treasony
Dwarves? No dwarves?
AEGLOS LETS GO
arondir no
you can't kill him girl your diversity
don't try to out loremaster elrond that's mean
hey that doesn't belong to you
put that back
WOW I didn't think it was possible for a show so overproduced to simply have a bad first season but they are really showing improvement in the second IMO! Can't wait for the finale!
ok honestly im kinda done w genshin atp, like the story is okay, the whitewashing tho is pissing me off tho, um idk, i like the game play, and also i gotta get to sneznaya or wtv when that comes out. and did u just not like the sumeru characters bc more of them are men.../j i still dont have yelan or arle very sad...they're like top 10 genshin characters for me, i was too broke to pull for them when they were running
ALSO that's not what i meant abt natasha, like as a character shes good and i like her, and her story is good, i dont dislike her, what i meant is that i cant be attracted to her, like idk...bc all the stuff u listed i should like her, so like idk. i dont skip story, i did her sq, so maybe it is just the fact that shes a doctor, like that was how she was presented at first and i just cant look past it ok... my mom was a doctor so i just cant...my mommy issues strike again, and i just dont rlly like doctors in general havent had good experiences w them before, so i cant be attracted to one...idk, like ik shes like way more than that. and i did get a few adds for her so its prob that as well that kind messed with my perception of her at the beginning, the only hsr adds i every got continously was kafkas trailer.
tbh i shouldve realized i liked women when i saw kafka dragging her fingers across a wall wish i was that wall with like her voice in the background and that was what made me decide to play the game. they know what they're doing...
speaking of which i got her other two messages, shes ridiculous, like i cant believe she can just go to a movie theater like that, and her checking up on you...i did scream. shes pathetic... honestly her being into phycological thrillers makes sm sense, so she was def seeing one of those. and i think shes exposing herself bc of both of the reasons you listed (also like it being on a burner acc incase she gets rejected...i obviously wasnt mean to her tho).
honestly im just shy sat okay...thats why im an anon, but it is funny, since we're all reading ur smut, and thirsting over everyone together.
i did sleep i promise, i dont really like taking medicine, again doctor stuff, but i'll been taking some melatonin bc last night it took be 3 and a half hours to sleep and ive been drinking tea and stuff, but ill be going to sleep after this. wish me luck.
-🌠
i also wanted to last until snezhnaya like i remember a few years ago when the first fatui trailer dropped after inazuma and my entire timeline went crazyyyy, people who didn’t play the game anymore got back into it just for the fatui like they really united everyone… but since the characters and stories dont do anything for me now i personally never feel like playing. and yes i actually was so bored with sumeru because im not interested in men at all dhfjgkgk but also the whitewashing there pissed me off and how they nerfed dehya and made her a horrible standard character was so annoying like i didnt pull for a single sumeru character 😭 arle/yelan is an insane duo, my yelan is great cause shes been my main for years so she doesn’t need anyone but adding arle is just cheating fr. look at my favs beefing (clorinde was there for the friendship points😪)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i thought you disliked nat because you said your friend thought you disliked her bc she was a doctor, but it makes sense if you’ve had bad experiences with healthcare professionals and are reminded of them when you see doctors. personally i love when people who work in healthcare actually care about the patients they have because it’s quite literally life saving and sooo many of them dont give a fuck, that’s why i adore natasha a lot. it’s totally fine if you’re not attracted to her, you don’t have to be!
kafka’s trailer changed my brain chemistry and i can recite it by heart from how often ive watched it. they definitely knew what they were doing especially with these shots like can i please be that guy… i’ll take the bullet too idgaf. AND YES THE MOVIE THEATER SHES SUCH A LOSERRR, THE “my life is an action movie btw lol haha” when the tb says they like action films is so ridiculous. i need to look up her other answers but when she said the action movies lacked immersion i pat myself on the back for writing that she likes psychological thrillers over horror or any other genre like i know her for real… im literally inside her head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
im glad youre sleeping even if it takes a little while!! hopefully your internal clock stops messing woth you and allows you to get some good rest
Monica, you and me both. i seriously hope they don't do anything to mess up what we've going on now. because it's been a perfect streak so far and i really badly don't want it ruined. but i don't really trust thai bls that much. the dad showing up completely uncalled for like that was a little bit of turn off for me in that matter. (cause i dint think that was a very important storyline, barely relevant at all to what we've seen of Day's story so far) and i hope that doesn't take more than 5 mins to get resolved. forced separation my beloathed. i also worry night and day will not be resolved as satisfactorily as i want it to (tho i hear we can trust p'aof on that) as there are only 4 more eps left and it's probably not gonna happen in ep 3. andd. as for one last thing, i also wish and hope desperately we get a bit of a reversal in their dynamic. with day being more of a crutch to mohk than the other way around. you know just to complete the picture on both sides. anyways, manifesting nothing but the best. -Skate
MORE RAMBLINGS AND SPECULATIONS AND PERSONAL WORRIES AND FILMING SPOILERS ABOUT LAST TWILIGHT UNDER THE CUT (just to be safe because i really don't wanna ruin people's excitement with my negativity. im also afraid my nomnom card might get revoked ;;;;;;;;)
i personally didn’t mind day’s dad showing up at the end of episode 8 because he has been mentioned since episode 2 and there’s also been a lot of emphasis on day’s mom being a single mom who raised him and night by herself, so i did expect day’s dad to play a role in the story at some point. i do agree that his introduction was rather abrupt tho, like day bringing him up out of nowhere while talking to mork and implying that songkhla was his hometown was a bit too on the nose imho, i think it could have been done a little bit better, but i’ve forgiven shows for much worse. once again my main fear with day’s dad is that he was introduced just to explain why he and ramon separated hence kind of foreshadowing mork and day also eventually separating, which as we previously established i would HATE
and you know it's not like im against separation on principle, i do think it could work for morkday if, let's say, mork was offered a job he's really passionate about in another town and was upfront about it with day and day told him 'you can't be my caretaker forever, you are my boyfriend, i want us to be equal, take this opportunity and make your dreams come true', because i do also agree with you on the fact that we've always seen mork supporting day and i need to have day supporting mork as well to balance things out a little bit more (not to always bring up vice versa but one of the main reasons i love puentalay is the mutuality and equality of their relationship). if this were to happen, they could still talk to each other on the phone and have mork go visit day over the weekend, they would still have a relationship based on love and understanding which is what their entire journey has been about. if this were to happen, i would become separation nr. 1 fan. i would be ready to print every single word of doubts i've ever expressed about the last 3 episodes and literally EAT THEM. the problem is that even if we're talking about p'aof, i can't fully trust him with not going down the misunderstanding route and not making them broke the promise they made of always holding each other's hands. i know that in bad buddy he made everyone think patpran broke up only to say SIKE, but unfortunately that's not enough to reassure me
the only hope i have is this picture
Tumblr media
which to me does look like a 'mork is torn about leaving for his dream job but day is giving him his full support', but unfortunately I HAVE TRUST ISSUES OKAY. I'VE BEEN HURT BY SHOWS BEFORE. and i can't really explain this shot of mork crying in the trailer unless it's about day breaking up with him
Tumblr media
SO. TRUST ISSUES
day and night's reconciliation is honestly the thing im less worried about because i do fully believe it's gonna happen, maybe not right away because if night was indeed somehow responsible for day losing his sight i think day is gonna need more time, but i think we're gonna see them finally have a proper talk with each other and by the end of it day is gonna leave an opening for their relationship to heal and go back to what it used to be
BUT YEAH IM JUST GONNA BE PRAYING FOR THE BEST THAT'S ALL WE CAN DO
I’m a grown woman obsessed with Logan and Quinn suddenly again like a 12 year old after that trailer. And I have some thoughts. We have possible outcomes that I can see based on the limited scenes we got. The bad case: they get engaged off screen and announce it to Zoey over FaceTime like we saw in the trailer. Then Quinn does a runner on the wedding day (we do get a shot of her running in a wedding dress), and the wedding ends up being about chase and Zoey getting back together. We see Logan has a headset on in pretty much every shot, including when he’s standing at the alter (wtf Logan?). Maybe Quinn sees this, and panics, and thinks money and work will come before her so she runs. Eventually they end up back together, and we then get that shot of him proposing again and promising it won’t happen (with Zoey there, why 🙄) and we are left with the implication they’ll get married eventually. It’s also the 1 scene between the two of them where he isn’t wearing his headset which adds value to the whole he’s a workaholic thing and Quinn’s had enough. The thing that makes me confused is that Quinn is 100% already wearing her engagement ring in that shot, and Logan 100% has jewellery in that box. The better option: Logan is jokingly giving her some jewellery in a ring box, and her nodding is just a weird cut to something else he said (I.e., not accepting a proposal). That scene is weird as well because Zoey’s 2 best friends of almost 20 years are getting engaged, Quinn is nodding yes and Zoey looks confused and worried. The confusing thing about it is Quinn’s hair is short, but it is long for every other shot. Cause Quinn and Logan look different in that shot to the rest of the movie, I was hoping that perhaps it’s a flashback to when they got engaged many years ago and it has just been a really long engagement. So when they tell Zoey over FaceTime, it’s not about getting married it’s about them finally setting a date? But that doesn’t tie into why Quinn has an engagement ring on already. Regardless of how it happens I know they’ll 100% end up together but I don’t want them to be plot devices to Zoey and chase. I may be losing my mind over this. I need a break but had to share my obsessive thoughts with someone.
oh man, where do I start. I'm also a grown person obsessed with a ship from my childhood. I said it a lot of times heheh but Quogan was my first ship and the first fanfic I ever read was about them. I didn't know what a fanfic was and really thought that was some deleted scene or something XD.
I would hate to if they don't get married at the end, that would be so disappointing, but it would not ruin the ship for me, I'd simply not consider the movie canon and make/read a fic fixing that lol.
I am bothered by Zoey being there for the proposal/or whatever that was, because ugh can we, please, have something? without her? please? I never cared about her character (or anyone aside from Logan and Quinn, really) So I hope they don't make that moment about them.
I do hope it's a flashback, but like you said, the ring makes it not make sense.
I was also wondering about Logan's headset, I thought it was more of him being a bridezilla and controlling the whole wedding and making it all about himself, excluding Quinn unintentionaly lol.
I need to rewatch the show to refresh my memory about the characters, it's been years after all. I never saw Logan as the workaholic kind, but I could be wrong or he could have changed, idk.
Either way, all I hope right now is that they end up together. If they decide marriage is not for them, I'll accept it as long as they don't separate. God please don't let that happen. Tho I won't deny I would be pissed, since they are advertising this using their wedding as a bait and for them to not give us that at the end? very shady. We would be quoganbaited lol.
Speaking of that, I too don't want them to be a plot device for Zoey and Chase. I can't stress enough how much I don't care about them. And I understand the movie is about finally getting them together, but please, let us have Quogan in peace. The two ships can co-exist without overshadowing the other (despite one being clearly superior ehem)
feel free to keep sending asks or dm me if you wish, I love talking about quogan.
